Prayer for Union with Jesus

Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.

    I am Yours to possess. I am Yours to use. I want to be selfless and only exist in You. Help me to spoon out all that is me and be an empty vessel ready to be filled by You. Help me to die to myself and live only for You. Use me as You will. Let me never draw my attention back to myself. I only want to operate as You do, dwelling within me.

    I am Yours, Lord. I want to have my life in You. I want to do the will of the Father. Give me the strength to put aside the world and let You operate my very being. Help me to act as You desire. Strengthen me against the distractions of the devil to take me from Your work.

    When I worry, I have taken my focus off of You and placed it on myself. Help me not to give in to the promptings of others to change what in my heart You are making very clear to me. I worship You, I adore You and I love You. Come and dwell in me now.

I Want My Priests to Come Back

Jesus: You know I am He Who lifts you up. In one second I can turn your feelings around and lift you up. Constantly pray to Me. You need Me through these times. Remember, I truly died for you on the cross. Remember, little one, I have chosen you to write to Me. Do you think I will ever abandon you? I am a God who truly loves His people. I love you with such ardent love. You must never doubt.
    Look into My face and see My gentleness. I am the kindest of all hearts. I am He who knows how to love with such love. Become totally lost in My arms.
    Do you think Satan will not taunt you? Put him behind you. You are being guarded by God and His heavenly court. Walk in My ways and the angels walk with you on your path. You are escorted on your way and you are never alone. You are guarded as a precious treasure that is being transported to another place.
    You need to put all your cares in My hands. You are developing true trust when you let go and let Me take over. Keep trusting and silence the ugly prompting of Satan who wants you to worry about useless things. Quit worrying and pray and play with your children. I am telling you there is so much peace and grace gained by private prayer with them. I will tend to all the details of your life. Do not worry for one moment. Put your life in My hands. I am here, little one. Read this message and all of them over and over again.
    You need to go to the Blue Book for your answers. Your answers are found there. I never leave your side. God is guarding you. Just continue to have a union with Me all through the day. All the prayer time alone with Me in one day is not enough. I want you in constant prayer.
    Turn to Me and My Blue Book. This will help many priests to come back and sit before Me in private union with Me. When priests come back to the tabernacle, the flock will begin to be led back to His altar. Priests need to read these letters. They are the preachers. If they do not value their own relationship with Jesus, if they are being led away from Me with busyness, they will not preach the intimate love of Jesus. They are so busy, but it is like throwing out the baby with the bath water. I am the center and their relationship with Me is utmost.
    The priests need these messages. They need to have an intimate, close union with Me. They should be preaching "time in front of the tabernacle." They should be preaching My intense love for My people and how I have so much to give. Some sermons are so complicated—yet nothing about union with Me in the Eucharist and in front of the tabernacle.
    I want My priests to come back and pray before My tabernacle. I want them to read these messages and make Jesus the Center of their lives. When they are led back to Jesus, they will lead the flock home. Priests need adoration every day for at least an hour. I don't care how busy they are. None of it matters if they are not spending time in private prayer alone with Me. They need to come and get their supplies. They need to quit thinking they are doing it and turn back to turning their lives totally over to Me, to totally letting their burdens and busy lives off at the foot of My cross and letting Me lead the way.
    There is not one priest who has so much to do that he cannot do private adoration daily. When the priest comes back to the power in the Eucharist and the tabernacle, the congregation will turn to God for their troubled hearts. Satan has led priests away from Jesus. They are so busy they cannot do all their work, but this must all take second place to praying silently before God and reading His words. These letters will help many priests to come back and be intimate with Jesus.
    All the rituals, all the upkeep of the churches, all the little details, and the King of Glory sits alone! You have thrown out the baby with the bath water. You are missing the boat.
    I want the priests to read this message. Where is the reverence after Communion and who has even heard it mentioned in the church? Private union with Jesus! What an honor! I have all you need. Come to Me and I will give you rest. I am all powerful. I have all the power. I am hyper—vigilant over your lives. I guard you. Quit trying to do it yourselves. Become selfless and let Me possess your souls.
    Have the priests spread these messages. Read them in church. I want adoration of the Eucharist back. I want people to know I am God and I am coming to them in Holy Communion. I want the Blessed Sacrament exposed. I want My churches open. Union with Jesus, the love of Jesus, trust, faith, love for one another, love of God—I want all of these preached from the pulpit!
    I am the Alpha and the Omega. I want My people to be led back to the center, which is Jesus. Pray for your priests. They are under attack. If Satan can wreck the family, the priests, the children, he has it made.
    You are under attack, My beloved priests, and you, in your busyness, are being led away from your union with Jesus. Bring yourselves back to Me and let Me give you My love. I am indeed the bridegroom of your souls. I wait for My beloved ones at the altar. I long for private union with all My beloved ones.
    Come to Me, all who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Come and be lifted up to heights you never dreamed possible. I am God. Put your lives in My hands. Let Me run your life. Quit running amok. You have lost your way and are running down the wrong road. Bring your lives back to Jesus in the tabernacle.
    The world is getting farther from God every minute. Read the messages at prayer meetings. Spread them by word of mouth. The time you waste is valuable. These words are not meant to be saved. Spread them here by any means possible. I want them out, I tell you! If someone wants to read some messages, give them to them and let them read them at prayer meetings. There is no secret here. They are from Me and I want them out. I want you to speak. A lot of your discontent is in sitting around with all these messages and not spreading them. Tell your friends to speak. Speak My words here. You don't have to mention the source. Spread the messages. You are not what is important. The messages are. You will be exposed. Don't worry who knows, but don't spread your own story. Spread the messages. Like ripples on a pond, the love of God will be spread throughout the land. I have so much to give to My hurting ones. I am your God. I died for you out of deepest love. I have come in these messages to lead you back home.
    Quit worrying of details. I am He Who runs the show. Pray for guidance every day. Spend one hour in front of the tabernacle. You cannot do in a million years what I can do in one moment. Quit relying on yourselves. You are only pushing buttons. When you are fixed in Me, the right door opens. When you go it alone, you have a hard road to walk. One hour in private adoration. Be silent or read the Blue Book. Your life will become uplifted by My teaching and you will sail a blue sky.
    Spend time in silence and some in reading My words in front of Me. I am talking to you in these letters. What power, to read them in front of the tabernacle! You can't go it alone. You need My help. You need your supplies. But you must come and get them! You are following your tail around if you do it alone. I am He Who can do all this. When you realize My power in adoration, your lives will change. As long as you are too busy you will have a hard time. The soul craves this union with Me.
    Lead the priests back to adoration and the people will follow. Our leaders have become too busy for adoration. This is the key, the key to unlock the doors to the world's problems. It is found in front of the tabernacle, at daily Mass and Communion. Do the priests ever preach any of this? You have forgotten your center, Jesus, in the Eucharist! All the power is found in Jesus. You have all that you need and you walk about and decorate My churches and clean every speck of dust and repair My pews and carpet My house and fix My organs but you walk about and miss the King of Glory who sits there all alone! Spread the messages on the tabernacle. I want them out!

Jesus: I am God, I have given these letters in God's Blue Book to lead men to the Eucharist. When many were starved for a deeper love union with God, they were led to the Shepherds of Christ Movement, to consecration and time before the tabernacle through God's Blue Book.

These are My letters of love to you. How pleased it makes Me when you thank Me for the gifts you have received to draw you more and more into the deepest recesses of My Heart.

Your soul wants to be possessed by God. This is the goal for which you live. In the reception of the Eucharist and in praying before the tabernacle, you are saturated with My grace. I truly speak to you of My burning love for you in My love letters. This is a gift I give you. I want you to be drawn into My Heart. Please put Message January 17, 1995, here.

The Power is in the Eucharist

January 17, 1995

Jesus: My dear child, these messages will turn hearts to the Eucharist. I am Jesus Christ, Son of God. I will light this world with the love of My Eucharistic Heart through My Mother's Heart.

The power is in the Eucharist! The Eucharist will enkindle in hearts the union needed to turn this world to Me. Pray the Prayer for Union with Me. I am Jesus. I am your Savior. I came to the earth to save men from their sins. I come now in these letters to tell all souls of My unfathomable love for them. Do not underestimate the souls that will be lost because they did not know My love.

Your life here is short. Every moment is so important to spread My love to a world that is hurting. These letters will instill in hearts My burning love. Through My grace I will touch the souls who read these letters. I am love. I operate from love. I am an endless abyss of love, burning divine love, on fire for love of each beloved soul.

I ask you to take Me seriously. I am calling out an alert to publish and circulate these letters to the hurting souls. Your chapters will be joined closer and closer to My Heart when you circulate these letters and rosary meditations. My Mother is appearing as Our Lady of Light. We are giving these meditations to draw souls into the mysteries of our lives, to draw souls to the Eucharist and draw them ever closer to Our Hearts.

Your job will become easier when the power that powers you is the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, when souls are joined in union with My Heart and that of My Mother. I am allowing Rita to experience such an awareness of My presence in order to tell you of My immense love. I am talking here and I beg you to spread these letters of My love.

The earth will rock and you will know My power and My might. My power is in the Eucharist. I am forever with you. I pour out My grace to you abundantly in the Eucharist. I pour out My grace to you when you sit with Me in front of the tabernacle. You cannot do this job. Give up your control. Realize the power you will have when you turn yourselves over to the Almighty God. I can rock this earth with My power. You put up walls, blocking My messages. I have knocked down the walls. My messages need to circulate. This world is hungry for My love. These are My letters of love to enkindle in men's heart the love that will light up this world.

Your Church will be a Church beating with the love for the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, through the Heart of Mary. This is the mighty medicine to turn men's hearts on fire for love of God. I beg you to heed My words. I am Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I am speaking to you this day. I want these letters to be circulated and published. Do not delay, men's souls are at stake. I love you so much. I gave My Flesh and Blood for you. I give Myself to you this day. I give you My Body and Blood. Come to Me. My children, My Heart is burning and waiting to give you My Divine love in abundant proportions! I am Jesus. Please circulate and publish these letters and rosary meditations. I love you. Jesus

Jesus: The power is in the Eucharist.

...Pray for peace, My people. I give you these prayers (Shepherds of Christ Prayer Manual) for the renewal of the Church and the world. When people pray them, I give the grace to be drawn into My Heart. There are found the treasures of peace, love and harmony. To My death on the cross, I died in perfect peace. When they whipped Me, I remained in peace.

When you are squeezed, what comes out of you, comes out of you. Pray to be possessed by God so that you will be saturated with His peace and love in your soul.

Souls consecrated to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary dwell in the pure and holy Hearts and are at peace.

Mary: Help me to spread the consecration to my children, so that they will live in peace and love. Help them to come to my Immaculate Heart. There they will see the light as my Spouse, the Holy Spirit, forms them more in the image and likeness of God.

Do you want one will, one flock? There will be unity when all are dwelling in our pure, loving Hearts. Please, my children, listen to me. I am Mary, your Mother, bringing forth my children of light. What has Shepherds of Christ and being a Handmaid done for my life and for my relationship with Jesus?

I first heard of Shepherds of Christ from a letter received concerning a rosary gathering at Tom’s Farm in October 1996. My family already had plans for the 13^th. When I received a notice for November 13^th my brother and I went not knowing much about Shepherds of Christ, but if it was praying the rosary-it had to be good. It was the most powerful rosary I ever attended. I didn’t go for several months, but felt drawn to this ministry and compelled to pray the prayers and read the blue books. Jesus was talking directly to me through them and it was great.

Jesus has always worked slowly in my heart. Pain and suffering in my early adult life brought me to realize that God was the only one I could turn to in my need. God alone was my strength.

In July 1997, news came that the department where I worked was being phased out by the parent company on the east coast. I was disenchanted with my job and I only continued working there to live, so I wasn’t concerned about the lack of a job.

During this same time, I felt pulled in my heart to pray with Shepherds of Christ as a body. I was shy and I would just come, sit, pray and be silent, not really talking to anyone very much.

I knew from my childhood that I would never marry. The pull Jesus had on me was stronger than the world’s, though I didn’t realize the source. For the past year I had become closer to Jesus and I felt what I would do with my life, next, would be for him alone.

On August 13, 1998, I went to China, Indiana, to the monthly rosary knowing something was going to happen-but not knowing what. During the rosary the president of Shepherds of Christ started reading a letter from Jesus about women being called as handmaids and their way of life. I felt the power of the Holy Spirit descend on my head and I was glad to be sitting. I knew Jesus was calling me to become a handmaid, a call that I had been waiting patiently for, for over two years.

After the rosary I acted on the Holy Spirit’s prompting immediately-knowing if I didn’t, I would find excuses not to. Jesus’ hand is very strong in my life. I was accepted as a candidate for a handmaid within a few days and gave two weeks notice at work. I found myself in Clearwater, Florida, within three weeks.

As a Handmaid of the Good Shepherd my life is very prayerful and very one on one with Jesus as His spouse. He is the Bridegroom of my Soul. Just being with him after Mass and in front of the tabernacle is candy to my soul and leaves me speechless. Being a handmaid has brought the joy, love and peace of my Divine Bridegroom into my life to an extent I didn’t even know could exist.

He calls me to constant change and growth. I cannot remain the same, for my life and love for him would stagnate. I live to serve him. I have only scratched the surface of the depth to which my soul craves union with my Lord and Savior. Any life in God is hard work, but the rewards are unbounded.

Jesus loves each and everyone of us on a personal level. He died on the cross to save each soul. He, the living God, is truly waiting in the tabernacle for us, to love us, if we would only come and sit with him.

Since my move to Clearwater, Florida, in 1998, I have recently traveled to China, Indiana, for a stay and I am currently in Morrow, Ohio, doing the work Jesus has called me to do. Jesus knows where I will be next, even though I do not.

There is nothing boring about being on Jesus’ roller coaster. The ride is into eternity! I can’t wait to see you there!

Jesus speaks: Who have you made the King and Center of your
hearts?

                                Pray for healing January 18, 2005 at 6:20 - Tuesday
                            Night — I will outpour My healing grace to you as
                            you pray My prayers united for healing.

What is your God? How do you do your own
will and tell yourself it is okay?

                                I have given you bounds to live by.
                                Live a holy life.
                                Be docile, humble, live for Me.
                                I am your Spouse and I love you so much.
                                I give you My love and My grace to do what
                                    you have to do.
                                Are you looking at your brothers -
                                    sizing them up —
                                    thinking you are better than them —
                                I have called you to be My Spouse and to love Me.

                                You will walk a valley that may have pit
                                    falls and the thistles and thorns prick
                                    at your feet — you must walk in the
                                    way of God —

                            Live to please Me —
                            Live to please your Heavenly Father —
                            Go to confession — tell God you are sorry for
                                your offenses against him —

Don't give into the devil —
to grip you and leave you out to dry —

                            Walk the way of kindness —
                                pray for grace and strength —
                                say yes when given a cross and you
                                know it is God's will you carry it —

                            A young man wanted a woman —
                                it was not God's will he had her —
                                he must let go and do God's will —

                            An elderly man, wanted to be free of his
                                disease, but he could not — it was
                                a cross, but he could live a good
                                life — he had to accept his cross and
                                live the best way he could —
                                being angry about the disease that you
                                cannot get rid of, can block the
                                grace you could get, from living
                                with it and being cheerful and loving —

                            Every person has to deal with things —
                                Sometimes in tremendous measures
                                    no one else deals with —
                                You are to live to promote My Kingdom.

                            I carried My cross to the end —
                                I forgave My persecutors —
                                I forgave the men for their sins —

Can you not forgive to build My Kingdom —
My Kingdom is built in love and docility.

You are to offer up the crosses that you
know are the Father's will you carry.

                            Some diseases can be cured —
                                you should get help with your diseases
                                if you need help —
                                those that are life-long and must endure
                                    because they are incurable for
                                    you — you can offer up your
                                    cross for grace.

1 The Mystery of Christ and Christian Existence

... In reference to Christianity, God himself is the ultimate mystery. Radically, God is completely other and transcendent, hidden from man in his inner life, unless he chooses to reveal himself. Let us briefly look at this inner life of God.

The Father, in a perfect act of self-expression, in a perfect act of knowing, generates his son. The Son, the Word, is, then, the immanent expression of God's fullness, the reflection of the Father. Likewise, from all eternity, the Father and the Son bring forth the Holy Spirit in a perfect act of loving.

At the destined moment in human history, God's self-expression, the Word, immersed himself into man's world. God's inner self-expression now had also become God's outer self-expression. Consequently, the mystery of God becomes the mystery of Christ. In Christ, God tells us about himself, about his inner life, about his plan of creation and redemption. He tells us how Father, Son, and Holy Spirit desire to dwell within us in the most intimate fashion, how they wish to share with us their own life through grace. All this he has accomplished and does accomplish through Christ. St. Paul tells us: "I became a minister of this Church through the commission God gave me to preach among you his word in its fullness, that mystery hidden from ages and generations past but now revealed to his holy ones. God has willed to make known to them the glory beyond price which this mystery brings to the Gentiles—the mystery of Christ in you, your hope of glory. This is the Christ we proclaim while we admonish all men and teach them in the full measure of wisdom, hoping to make every man complete in Christ" (Col 1:25-28).

    Seven Levels of Commitment in the Shepherds of Christ Movement

There are Associates who gather and pray at least once monthly as a group and also help with donations to support the Shepherds of Christ priestly newsletter. They can be tremendously involved. They give as they feel they are able.

Apostles are members who have restricted their apostolic activity to the Shepherds of Christ. They literally act as a body of lay people who have given their lives in their present living situation to do all that they can to bring about the Reign of the Sacred Heart and the triumph of Mary's Immaculate Heart.

Prayer Apostles are often shut-ins, some are able to go to church and pray. They spend much of their lives praying for the Movement.

Apostles of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus are those who spend at least two separate hours weekly before the Blessed Sacrament praying for the following:

1. For the spread of the devotion to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary culminating in the reign of the Sacred Heart and the triumph of the Immaculate Heart.

2. For the Pope.

3. For all bishops of the world.

4. For all priests.

5. For all sisters and brothers in the religious life.

6. For all members of the Shepherds of Christ Movement, and for the spread of this   Movement to the world.

7. For all members of the Catholic Church.

8. For all members of the human family.

9. For all souls in purgatory.

Handmaids of the Good Shepherd are young and older women who have given their lives in community primarily to pray for the Shepherds of Christ Movement and intentions and to be special spouses of Jesus. Some have more duties than others. All have the primary duty of prayer and the desire to be a special spouse of our Lord. One of the functions of the handmaids is the involvement in praying for and helping to circulate the priestly newsletter. The handmaids are not members of a religious order.


Servants of the Good Shepherd are men who live in community with a lifestyle and purpose similar to that of the handmaids. The servants are not members of a religious order.


We wish to form a special congregation of priests who will realize their great oneness with Christ. They will be consecrated deeply to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary and support the Shepherds of Christ Movement as holy priests.

January 17, 2014

                Jesus: The world is divided and many do not obey
                the commandments of God. Even those I have
                called would rather focus on their wounds than
                pray for faith to believe and help Me by answering
                My call to them. ...

                Love is the answer and it is not
                    found in the proud,
                    divided, closed heart –
                    living to prove themselves right
                    and be the way.

I am the way, the truth and the life.

                Those who love themselves and others
                    are soft and supple, ready to
                    admit their mistakes from
                    the past and the present –
                    they are wanting to be changed
                    to grow in happiness in Me –
                    not living to prove they need
                    no growth and think themselves
                    perfect!

                People who see themselves as victims
                    move to victors when they
                    live in Me –
                    when they live according to My Word –
                    when they live by My Blue Books.

                We have given Rosaries from Our Two Hearts
                    for you for
                        20 years – to meditate
                        on Our lives –

Nothing can be united with people
with divided hearts –

                Division is division – a house
                    divided against itself
                    will not stand.

A person living a fruitful life
is constant, rooted in Me.

A person living a fruitful life
is committed, rooted in Me.

                A person living a fruitful life
                    is under God –
                    obeys authority –
                    and observes structure.

                A person living a fruitful life
                    does not spend his life
                    with a divided heart against
                    his brother – being divided
                    with your brother divides
                    yourself from Me.

                A person living a fruitful life has
                    recovered from wounded
                    relationships and goes out
                    in love to others.

                A person living a fruitful life
                    keeps promises, doesn't
                    say things one day to
                    manipulate others and
                    something else another
                    day to hurt others –
                    they are rooted in God's
                    will and serving in love
                    to build the Kingdom of God.

                A person rooted in love controls
                    themselves and does not act
                    because of their hurt emotions
                    to hurt others, they discipline
                    themselves.

                A person living a fruitful life
                    wants to make amends for the
                    damage they have done in
                    the lives of others and in situations
                    where they have acted incorrectly.
                    They are ready to apologize and
                    help do what was wrong because
                    they see their lives are to be
                    lived to serve God and others,
                    they don't punish others to be
                    right all the time –

                A person living a fruitful life
                    loves God and others and
                    lives to serve God and others,
                    not inordinately attached to one self.

A person living a fruitful life
takes care of their health.

A person living a fruitful life
is a good steward.

                A person living a fruitful life
                    wants to solve problems
                    in love and help fix
                    things they began and in
                    need of repair.

                A person living a fruitful life
                    likes to work on projects with
                    others in peace and love to build
                    God's Kingdom.

A person living a fruitful life knows
their source and strength is in God.

                A person living a fruitful life can
                    give and take love from
                    others without turning to
                    love/hate; push/pull;
                    competitive relationships or
                    slavishly dependent relationships.

                A person living a fruitful life is
                    energized in service with
                    others, is full of faith
                    and hope, not creating
                    combat, argumentation
                    and a negative energy.

How do you radiate energy?
How do you solve problems?

Problems are a part of life –

                How are your skills to work
                    well with others, I am
                    calling you to work with
                    and obey in structure?

How are you at communicating
needed information?

                Do you stay in a comfort zone
                    of your own making and
                    avoid God's will if you
                    don't feel like doing it?

                Do you keep your word, are you
                    reliable or do you promise
                    things you don't do without
                    someone begging you
                    when you made the suggestion
                    and said you would do it?

                Do you care for others or do you
                    care to be over everybody and
                    everybody under you to serve
                    your ego?

                Are you jealous of those doing
                    God's will and try to be
                    a block to them because
                    of your jealousy?

                Do you live in division and
                    darkness and try to force
                    that negative energy
                    by only responding to
                    conflict or creating it
                    yourself?

Do you admit your mistakes?

Do you forgive others and
ask for forgiveness yourself?

                Has your whole life been a life
                    of numbness, and when
                    you feel - you hold
                    hostages in division for
                    your divided age-old heart?

                Are you comfortable with others
                    around you who are
                    working together in love?

Purity of heart –

I call a person to be pure in their heart
like Mary, who is your model.

Mary was a Virgin, she conceived
through the power of the Holy Spirit.

                I call men and women to be truthful
                    and to trust and love and be
                    united as members of the human
                    family.

Judas betrayed Me and he did not
come clean.

Purity is found in living in the
truth.

In living to love God first and love your
neighbor as yourself.

Do you keep your eye on the
prize which is Jesus?

                Do you create conflict if you are
                    not in charge and turn
                    things into a circus to
                    discredit those in charge?

                How do you handle authority –
                    do you think authority is
                    a friend and
                    know I operate in authority
                    and structure?

I died on the cross that you would
live –

I came to earth to teach you
about My ways –

                Do you focus on the main event
                    I want or do you make a
                    side show to get the
                    attention off the main event?

                You need serious healing where
                    you cannot unite in unity,
                    but feed your time with
                    others with competition
                    and argumentation, challenging
                    rules and authority.

                The devil wants power - so he
                    uses divided hearts to
                    try to operate to run out
                    authority and tear the house's
                    structure down.

                Example – How has your example been
                    in working to do My work in
                    building the Kingdom in
                    love and unity?

                Could others model their lives
                    after you to learn about
                    unity and love?

                How do you accept correction
                    and recognize you are
                    to obey those over you,
                    are you ready to fix
                    things you did wrong
                    in love because its about
                    My work of building unity not
                        your being right?

                Do you act passive-aggressively veiling
                    attacks that come from an
                    inability to express anger, suppressed
                    for years?

                Have you lied to yourselves about
                    unfinished, unhealed relationships
                    you act out in your present
                    life against innocent others
                    you take as hostages, you
                    project your hidden anger on?

                Are you a pro at loving or
                    a pro at covert behavior
                    leading to hurt all
                    those around you?

                Do you hold out to control what is
                    needed to build My Kingdom for
                    your selfish power?

Ecclesiastes 3: 1-11

There is a season for everything, a time for every occupation under heaven:

A time for giving birth,
a time for dying;
a time for planting,
a time for uprooting what has been planted.
A time for killing,
a time for healing;
a time for knocking down,
a time for building.
A time for tears,
a time for laughter;
a time for mourning,
a time for dancing.
A time for throwing stones away,
a time for gathering them;
a time for embracing,
a time to refrain from embracing.
A time for searching,
a time for losing;
a time for keeping,
a time for discarding.
A time for tearing,
a time for sewing;
a time for keeping silent,
a time for speaking.
A time for loving,
a time for hating;
a time for war,
a time for peace.

What do people gain from the efforts they make? I contemplate the task that God gives humanity to labour at. All that he does is apt for its time; but although he has given us an awareness of the passage of time, we can grasp neither the beginning nor the end of what God does.

R. These wounds hurt our beloved Savior, when some betrayed their friendship with God to do evil. Jesus is our friend. Sometimes more than one person treated Jesus with disrespect and criticism.

    To live Christ's life in our life, to live His death, to share in His sufferings, this is the greatest gift of all. We walk the walk, not knowing the great gift He is outpouring and allowing us to suffer to know Him more and share in His life.

    I know today what He gives me is to teach me lessons that I may be more like Him. The hardest thing, it seems to me, is to be mistreated by several friends.

    I show the world the Jesus that lives within. I want to be a light. People act according to how deeply united they are to God. All different levels. To be like Him we must die to all that is not like Him and beg for the grace to be made holy.

    I want to be like Jesus. To do this I must be willing to look at my faults, see my sins, my weaknesses, the way I am not like Him.

    I love God so much. The statue was transfigured and He had on different garments. I realized His humanity.

January 17, 1996

R. There is so little love given this day. We can seek to receive and not give. We can seek others to fill us when only God can. Love is giving. Love takes time. God is the source of all love and so few have time to spend with Him and learn as He teaches the mysteries of His love.

    How can we love one another when we do not have time for God, who is love? We can be too busy to care, too busy to love, too busy to be Christ-like to others.

    We were created in the image and likeness of God, but are we acting like Him?

    Could we see Jesus talk about one another without love? Could we see Jesus rush by and not have time for anyone? Jesus came to give, He came to love, He came to serve.

    The world has made its end here and God speaks of the Kingdom to come. Open your hearts and you will know the mystery of His love.

                R. We need to surrender to God and not live
                lives of rebelling against things we can't
                change in our lives. When we are given
                great suffering from God we need to pray
                and have greater faith in God.

                    God has allowed us to suffer many times
                in our lives which have been blessings
                in disguise or taken us to a needed place
                of growth.

                    To rebel against God always causes
                us problems. Many times God is testing
                us to see how great is our response
                to Him in love.

                    We want to do God's will. We want the
                Holy Spirit to help us to grow in
                greater perfection in the Christ-life –
                We may cry and suffer, but this many
                times leads us into deep intimacy
                with God. God is constant in our
                lives.

                    Those we love move in and out. My mom
                died when I was five years old. My life
                grew from this great loss but I still
                miss her. I miss my great friend Fr. Carter,
                yesterday was his birthday, I wondered
                how I could miss him so much after
                16 years after his death, but I believe
                he is in heaven and helping us there.

                    Monsignor Fregapane came every
                month for at least 10 years and he
                spread the Shepherds of Christ Movement
                before we even knew him. When I went to
                his little condo – his place was
                full of Shepherds of Christ books spread
                out all over.

We just loved him – he was so
dear to us.

                R. The greatest commandment tells us to love
                God with our whole heart, our whole soul
                and our whole being and love our neighbor
                as ourselves.

                    I must focus on what that means
                to love our neighbor as myself.
                God made us beautiful, I must see
                the ideal self created by God –
                I want the Holy Spirit to work in me to
                mold me more and more in the image of Jesus –

The Holy Spirit And Mary

The late Archbishop Luis M. Martinez of Mexico strikingly speaks of the ongoing cooperation of Mary with the Holy Spirit regarding the reproduction of Jesus within us: "Christian life is the reproduction of Jesus in souls…

"Now, how will this mystical reproduction be brought about in souls? In the same way in which Jesus was brought into the world, for God gives a wonderful mark of unity to all His works. Divine acts have a wealth of variety because they are the work of omnipotence; nevertheless, a most perfect unity always shines forth from them because they are the fruit of wisdom; and this divine contrast of unity and variety stamps the works of God with sublime and unutterable beauty.

"In His miraculous birth, Jesus was the fruit of heaven and earth…The Holy Spirit conveyed the divine fruitfulness of the Father to Mary, and the virginal soil brought forth in an ineffable manner our most loving Savior, the divine Seed, as the prophets called Him…

"That is the way He is reproduced in souls. He is always the fruit of heaven and earth.

"Two artisans must concur in the work that is at once God’s masterpiece and humanity’s supreme product: the Holy Spirit and the most holy Virgin Mary. Two sanctifiers are necessary to souls, the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, for they are the only ones who can reproduce Christ.

"Undoubtedly, the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary sanctify us in different ways. The first is the Sanctifier by essence; because He is God, who is infinite sanctity; because He is the personal Love that completes, so to speak, the sanctity of God, consummating His life and His unity, and it belongs to Him to communicate to souls the mystery of that sanctity. The Virgin Mary, for her part, is the co-operator, the indispensable instrument in and by God’s design. From Mary’s maternal relation to the human body of Christ is derived her relation to His Mystical Body which is being formed through all the centuries until the end of time, when it will be lifted up to the heavens, beautiful, splendid, complete, and glorious.

"These two, then, the Holy Spirit and Mary, are the indispensable artificers of Jesus, the indispensable sanctifiers of souls. Any saint in heaven can co-operate in the sanctification of a soul, but his co-operation is not necessary, not profound, not constant: while the co-operation of these two artisans of Jesus of whom we have just been speaking is so necessary that without it souls are not sanctified (and this by the actual design of Providence), and so intimate that it reaches to the very depths of our soul. For the Holy Spirit pours charity into our heart, makes a habitation of our soul, and directs our spiritual life by means of His gifts. The Virgin Mary has the efficacious influence of Mediatrix in the most profound and delicate operations of grace in our souls. And, finally, the action of the Holy Spirit and the co-operation of the most holy Virgin Mary are constant; without them, not one single character of Jesus would be traced on our souls, no virtue grow, no gift be developed, no grace increased, no bond of union with God be strengthened in the rich flowering of the spiritual life. mm

"Such is the place that the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary have in the order of sanctification. Therefore, Christian piety should put these two artisans of Christ in their true place, making devotion to them something necessary, profound, and constant." ¹⁸

Excerpt from Priestly Newsletter 1998 - ISSUE FOUR

    Shortly before he was to die from cancer, Joseph Cardinal Bernardin left us these inspiring words about peace: "It is the first day of November, and fall is giving way to winter. Soon the trees will lose the vibrant colors of their leaves and snow will cover the ground. The earth will shut down, and people will race to and from their destinations bundled up for warmth. Chicago winters are harsh. It is a time of dying.

    "But we know that spring will soon come with all its new life and wonder.

    "It is quite clear that I will not be alive in the spring. But I will soon experience new life in a different way...

    "What I would like to leave behind is a simple prayer that each of you may find what I have found—God's special gift to us all: the gift of peace. When we are at peace, we find the freedom to be most fully who we are, even in the worst of times. We let go of what is non-essential and embrace what is essential. We empty ourselves so that God may more fully work within us. And we become instruments in the hands of the Lord."³
