Prayer for Grace for our Country

Dear Father united to Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Sacrifice of Calvary sacramentally made present, celebrated around the world, in the Holy Spirit. We offer up all we do united to the Mass. We unite in one mind and one heart as members of the mystical body of Christ, with Christ our head in the pure and holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary, through the powerful intercession of Mary with all the angels and saints and souls in purgatory, and we beg for the saving grace, for our country, the United States. Please help us. We further pray for unity to always do the will of God in love. We spread the Blood of Jesus on the leaders and people of the United States and cast the devil into hell. We consecrate our country to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and all our dioceses, and beg for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God help us. We pray for our families, the priests, the Church and the world. In the Name of Jesus please hear us, we pray. We pray for our president and leaders. We pray that we are united as one nation under God to work together in love as God wants.

                R. Jesus is the Light of the world. To be filled
                more and more with His grace is to be filled
                more and more with light.

Matthew 5: 16

                    In the same way, let your light shine
                    before others, that they may see your good
                    deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

John 1: 5

The light shines in the darkness, and
the darkness has not overcome it.

R. Think of a man walking in a completely dark
room filled with big clunky furniture.

                    If the person continues walking in darkness,
                living out unfinished business it is like
                this man who chooses such a thing –

Why would anyone choose this for
themselves?

Inside we have a heart, a place that
can be full of God's light, His grace –

                    Our hearts were made for love. To have a
                heart full of unfinished business – a person
                can keep acting out on innocent others –

                    Like power lost as a child, in a
                relationship – a person can decide they
                will never be under again and thus
                go through their life with the goal to be
                over others at any expense. Every moment
                of their lives a power struggle – to win over
                others.

                    God is above, we are under Him – the
                first commandment, commands we put
                God first in our lives.

God has put us under authority and
He works in structure.

                    The person with a goal to have no
                boundaries, to be on top – to have
                power-over as their goal has a problem
                with the first commandment and pushes
                God and His will out of their mix.
                Then they have a problem with laws,
                even traffic laws – income tax –
                respect for others – justice giving
                others what is their due –
                They can see themselves above and
                their life is lived for power-over because
                they want no one over them –
                Everything is a power struggle – to win
                power-over –
                This leaves emptiness personified –

                God calls us to love Him with our whole
                heart, our whole soul, our whole being
                and to love our neighbor as ourselves.

                    If we work with a small child, a toddler,
                we see interaction – learning – social skills,
                learning about trust, love, kindness,
                giving - taking, etc. –

                    At every age of childhood we are learning
                about skills and they are necessary to grow
                into maturity – as an adult – to give and
                take – to be witnesses before others of
                Christ in us as we live as mature
                Christians under God, as He dwells in
                us – and we live in the light.

                    God is our Master and we must
                live by the commandments to be happy –
                learning to live in the light of life –
                learning to live in the truth –
                following the only way – walking in the
                footsteps of Jesus.

                    When we walk in His footsteps we
                carry a cross many times, we cannot
                take the cross out of life if we
                follow Jesus. We have ups and downs
                as we walk behind Him. We have
                docility of heart as a child learning
                at a new stage the wonderful things needed
                to reach full Christian maturity.

                    Like stages of development of ages
                that needed development – all life long –
                we need to develop to full Christian
                maturity and celebrate life.

                    This comes with life-in-Him –
                Living the Christ-life, full Christian
                Maturity – life in the Holy Spirit –
                Walking next to the Virgin Mother – Mother
                at our side –

                    People walking in the darkness are like
                the man bumping into the furniture
                in the dark room.

                    We have had stages of development
                that needed to develop to grow to
                full Christian Maturity – Living
                Christ - in - us more and more in
                the image and likeness of God –
                being imitators of Christ –
                knowing the Gospel –
                living by the rules of relationships – the
                    Commandments of God

The Ten Commandments

1. I, the Lord, am your God. You shall not have other gods besides me.
  2. You shall not take the name of the Lord, your God, in vain.
  3. Remember to keep holy the Sabbath day.
  4. Honor your father and your mother.
  5. You shall not kill.
  6. You shall not commit adultery.
  7. You shall not steal.
  8. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
  9. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife.
  10. You shall not covet anything that belongs to your neighbor.

R. God put us here – children to learn –

We come babies –

We don't even have control of going
to the bathroom and walking –

                It's all a process of learning – maturing –
                    walking with the Light in us –
                    our Mother at our side –
                    under the Heavenly Father who created
                    us like a child and gave us a guardian
                    angel.

John 8: 12

When Jesus spoke to the people again, he said:

I am the light of the world;
anyone who follows me
will not be walking in the dark,
but will have the light of life.

1 John 1: 5-9

This is what we have heard from him and are declaring to you:
God is light,
and there is no darkness in him at all.
If we say that we share in God’s life
while we are living in darkness,
we are lying,
because we are not living the truth.
But if we live in light,
as he is in light,
we have a share in another’s life,
and the blood of Jesus, his Son,
cleanses us from all sin.

If we say, ‘We have no sin,’
we are deceiving ourselves,
and truth has no place in us;
if we acknowledge our sins,
he is trustworthy and upright,
so that he will forgive our sins
and will cleanse us from all evil.

John 12: 35-37

See that you have your belts done up and your lamps lit. Be like people waiting for their master to return from the wedding feast, ready to open the door as soon as he comes and knocks. Blessed those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes. In truth I tell you, he will do up his belt, sit them down at table and wait on them.

Luke 11: 34-35

The lamp of the body is your eye. When your eye is clear, your whole body, too, is filled with light; but when it is diseased your body, too, will be darkened. See to it then that the light inside you is not darkness.

Psalm 27: 1

Yahweh is my light and my salvation,
whom should I fear?

Sing: Remember Your Love

But you are a chosen race, a kingdom of priests, a holy nation, a people to be a personal possession to sing the praises of God who called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.

Ecclesiastes 2: 13

More is to be gained from wisdom than from folly, just as one gains more from light than from darkness; this, of course, I see:

R. God is Light and in Him is
NO DARKNESS

Jesus: I am the way, the truth and the
life –

R. Life is a process –

                Adult - children can be wounded at
                    an early age and miss the
                    development necessary to live
                    to full Christian maturity –

It's never too late –

God gives us His Word –

God gives us Himself in the scriptures –

God gives us the Blue Books to
help us –

                When a person lives to prove they are
                    right and argues about everything
                    in darkness – they shut down
                    their creativity – their
                    openness –

First to thine own self be TRUE –

When the Spirit of God dwells in
us the TRUTH is in us –

                What is not as bad as the sin, Bishop Sheen
                    says, is the man who denies sin –
                    that walks in darkness and refuses
                    forgiveness and mercy from God.

Jesus: I am the Light of the World –

I am the way, the truth and
the life.

Look at an icy day

Would you go out and slip
on purpose –

R. We are here to grow in the
image and likeness of God –

We are here for a purpose –

God is light and in Him is

NO DARKNESS
