  1. 1 John 4:17-21

    1. Love comes to its perfection in us when we can face the Day of Judgement fearlessly, because even in this world we have become as he is. In love there is no room for fear, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear implies punishment and no one who is afraid has come to perfection in love. Let us love, then, because he first loved us. Anyone who says 'I love God' and hates his brother, is a liar, since whoever does not love the brother whom he can see cannot love God whom he has not seen. Indeed this is the commandment we have received from him, that whoever loves God, must also love his brother.

God's power reaches to the deepest corner of our lives —
He is mindful of everything going on in my life — God fills me
with His grace — His life is in me — every beat of my heart
knows the presence of God within me —

Love casts out fear — those who want to control like
terrorists work on fear — by making someone fear a person
hopes to get control over another — this is not like a mother
who must warn babies against touching the stone or running
off into the street — a person wanting to control another like
a terrorist tries to make a person fear — live in fear —
there is mystery — behind the scenes planning for the terrorist —
they give threats through secret ways — provoking others —
like someone who would be under a window jumping up -
peeking in and then hiding below again — so you do not
recognize their tactics to produce fear.

Satan works in fear and power over — a person not
loving, but being counseled by satan can act in secretive
ways to provoke and then act like nothing happened —
like the one peeking in the window and then hiding —

Love is what God wants — God has all the power, but a
person or group can get away with abusing others like 2001, September 11 —
It was an attack formed in secret to scare us of their power
to jump up and then we could fear for our lives — but
we are not hiding from God, but the United States needed
to address what was done —

because terrorists will act aggressively in secret —
playing on fear — fear at the airports, fear in food —
but we have our own fear used by media to control us —

                God wants the truth —
If we want things to work —
We must recognize God has all the power —

On a small level — there are abusers in families — that
keep children, spouse, in check because they control
                    the money, the car —

God wants a holy family — living in great oneness — more like
our relationships molded after the Trinity —
                    The Trinity is Perfection
                    Three Persons in One God

For all eternity we are to live in relationship a family
                    of love

God with His love fills us — He is wanting to fill us
with love — Going to the Eucharist and reading the Word
is the Bread of Life — the Medicine of Immortality that
heals the wounded human nature — God fills us with His
grace — He is the Guest of our minds and hearts — God
embraces us in His embrace of love.

Our happiness is dependent on living according to God's
will of knowing His love in us — to know the eagerness of
our God to possess us here on earth and for all eternity —
Our preparation for loving here is in preparation for the
embrace of God's love for all eternity.

But because of our wounded human nature — we
have work to do — we must let go of our pride so God can
work in our heart — Our wounded human nature came from
a sin of pride from our first parents —

We are to show God that we are soft, supple, open to
His touch — our life is not a life of hiding faults to prove
we are perfect and seek dominance for ourselves —

Our lives are to die to our ways of jealousy, envy,
pride, lust, greed, to be like Jesus. We were given this
great dignity to be created in the image and likeness of
God — Adam and Eve sinned

Genesis Chapter 3

Now, the snake was the most subtle of all the wild animals that Yahweh God had made. It asked the woman, 'Did God really say you were not to eat from any of the trees in the garden?' The woman answered the snake, 'We may eat the fruit of the trees in the garden. But of the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden God said, "You must not eat it, nor touch it, under pain of death." ' Then the snake said to the woman, 'No! You will not die! God knows in fact that the day you eat it your eyes will be opened and you will be like gods, knowing good from evil.' The woman saw that the tree was good to eat and pleasing to the eye, and that it was enticing for the wisdom that it could give. So she took some of its fruit and ate it. She also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened and they realised that they were naked. So they sewed fig-leaves together to make themselves loin-cloths.

The man and his wife heard the sound of Yahweh God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from Yahweh God among the trees of the garden. But Yahweh God called to the man. 'Where are you?' he asked. 'I heard the sound of you in the garden,' he replied. 'I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid.' 'Who told you that you were naked?' he asked. 'Have you been eating from the tree I forbade you to eat?' The man replied, 'It was the woman you put with me; she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.' Then Yahweh God said to the woman, 'Why did you do that?' The woman replied, 'The snake tempted me and I ate.'

Then Yahweh God said to the snake, 'Because you have done this,

    Accursed be you
of all animals wild and tame!
On your belly you will go
and on dust you will feed
    as long as you live.
    I shall put enmity
    between you and the woman,
    and between your offspring and hers;
    it will bruise your head
and you will strike its heel.'

    To the woman he said:

I shall give you intense pain
        in childbearing,
you will give birth to your children
        in pain.
Your yearning will be for your husband,
    and he will dominate you.

To the man he said, 'Because you listened to the voice of your wife and ate from the tree of which I had forbidden you to eat,

Accursed be the soil because of you!
Painfully will you get your food from it
    as long as you live.
It will yield you brambles and thistles,
as you eat the produce of the land.
By the sweat of your face

    will you earn you food,
until you return to the ground,
as you were taken from it.
    For dust you are
and to dust you shall return.

The man named his wife 'Eve' because she was the mother of all those who live. Yahweh God made tunics of skins for the man and his wife and clothed them. Then Yahweh God said, 'Now that the man has become like one of us in knowing good from evil, he must not be allowed to reach out his hand and pick from the tree of life too, and eat and live for ever!' So Yahweh God expelled him from the garden of Eden, to till the soil from which he had been taken. He banished the man, and in front of the garden of Eden he posted the great winged creatures and the fiery flashing sword, to guard the way to the tree of life.

Heaven is a reward promised to those who love and
                serve the Lord —

Too often in people serving in religion — they seek
dominance for self — they want control for self — not for God —
they act very unloving — not like Christ at all and they
drive people coming, away because of their sins, their
seeking for power — They want others to fill their need for
dominance — power — They use religion to try to fill their
sick needs and act unloving —

A person serving in religion should be likened to Christ —

Their lives are lived like Jesus — selflessness for
the other — doing God's will in love — teaching
God's message in absolute truth — not
                        falsity in any way

                    What Would Jesus Do?

                    I saw this yesterday —

Jesus is the way, the truth and the life —

God gave us a free will to love Him freely —

A person using force, for themselves is not teaching
                        God's way of love.

God is unchangeable — God is infinite Perfection —
                    God is supreme
                    Love is gentle

1 Corinthians 13: 1-13

Though I command languages both human and angelic—if I speak without love, I am no more than a gong booming or a cymbal clashing. And though I have the power of prophecy, to penetrate all mysteries and knowledge, and though I have all the faith necessary to move mountains—if I am without love, I am nothing. Though I should give away to the poor all that I possess, and even give up my body to be burned—if I am without love, it will do me no good whatever.

Love is always patient and kind; love is never jealous; love is not boastful or conceited, it is never rude and never seeks its own advantage, it does not take offence or store up grievances. Love does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but finds its joy in the truth. It is always ready to make allowances, to trust, to hope and to endure whatever comes.

Love never comes to an end. But if there are prophecies, they will be done away with; if tongues, they will fall silent; and if knowledge, it will be done away with. For we know only imperfectly, and we prophesy imperfectly; but once perfection comes, all imperfect things will be done away with. When I was a child, I used to talk like a child, and see things as a child does, and think like a child; but now that I have become an adult, I have finished with all childish ways. Now we see only reflections in a mirror, mere riddles, but then we shall be seeing face to face. Now I can know only imperfectly; but then I shall know just as fully as I am myself known.

As it is, these remain: faith, hope and love, the three of them; and the greatest of them is love.

God has all the power —

A few weeks ago — a big wind came up in Ohio,
Indiana and Kentucky — it split good trees right in half —
                huge trees —

Lots of people were without power for almost a week —

We had to throw our food in the refrigerator away —
Before this happened September 5, I was focusing on how God
controls the sun, moon, stars and the world does not annihilate.

In a writing in the Priestly Newsletter Book III — Fr. Carter chose it
speaks of how not doing God's will is being in rivalry with
God (Pope John Paul II) —

Priestly Newsletter 2000 Issue 3

Pope John Paul II instructs us: "The Church, as a reconciled and reconciling community, cannot forget that at the source of her gift and mission of reconciliation is the initiative, full of compassionate love and mercy, of that God who is love (see 1 John 4:8) and who out of love created human beings (see Wisdom 11:23-26; Genesis 1:27: Psalms 8:4-8)…He created them so that they might live in friendship with Him and in communion with one another.

"God is faithful to His eternal plan even when man, under the impulse of the evil one (see Wisdom 2:24) and carried away by his own pride, abuses the freedom given to him in order to love and generously seek what is good, and (instead) refuses to obey his Lord and Father. God is faithful even when man, instead of responding with love to God’s love, opposes Him and treats Him like a rival, deluding himself and relying on his own power, with the resulting break of relationship with the One who created him. In spite of this transgression on man’s part, God remains faithful in love.

"It is certainly true that the story of the Garden of Eden makes us think about the tragic consequences of rejecting the Father, which becomes evident in man’s inner disorder and in the breakdown of harmony between man and woman, brother and brother (see Genesis 3:12 ff; 4:1-16). Also significant is the Gospel parable of the two brothers (the parable of the ‘prodigal son’; see Luke 15:11-32) who, in different ways, distance themselves from their father and cause a rift between them. Refusal of God’s fatherly love and of His loving gifts is always at the root of humanity’s divisions.

"But we know that God…like the father in the parable (of the prodigal son), does not close His heart to any of His children. He waits for them, looks for them, goes to meet them at the place where the refusal of communion imprisons them in isolation and division. He calls them to gather about His table in the joy of the feast of forgiveness and reconciliation.

"This initiative on God’s part is made concrete and manifest in the redemptive act of Christ, which radiates through the world by means of the ministry of the Church." 13

NOTES:

13. Pope John Paul II, as in Celebrate 2000!, Servant Publications, pp. 140-141.

God created us and He has a plan —

God can see right through us —

God watches us when we see through jealous eyes and try to
block others doing His work or using their talents —

                God is all powerful —

People who abort babies because they just want to be free —
do not even realize what post-abortion trauma
                    can occur —
but they want their way so much they can have
a child they conceived in their womb killed by
                        abortion —

Every child, every human creature was marked by original sin
at the moment of conception — except the Blessed Virgin
Mary — she was conceived without original sin from the
                    moment of conception —

In the Bible some where it says there are as many different hearts
                    as different faces.

What is man mindful of — if not God.

                St. Ignatius says

From St. Ignatius Spiritual Exercises

Except from A MEDITATION ON TWO STANDARDS

First they are to tempt them to covet riches (as Satan himself is accustomed to do in most cases) that they may the more easily attain the empty honors of this world, and then come to overweening pride.

The first step, then, will be riches, the second honor, the third pride. From these three steps the evil one leads to all other vices.

God is absolutely Perfectly — ONE

Our whole life is to be centered in loving God and loving one another —
                God is all good —

Every action is to have at its end good —

Actions that have as their end - division based on bitterness,
hatred - sinful selfishness - not a good end,
but a bad end are not what God wants

We are here to die to our selfish unloving ways to grip onto a
life lived in greater perfection and love and unity forever —

What is this world - forever?

Do you grasp life eternal in loving union with God "forever"
the majesty of it all — LOVE forever — in eternal bliss.

But do some see the split trees of those days of darkness we
knew in Cincinnati and the surrounding area —
no T.V. blaring hatred by some
and if we got to the radio — oh sports was on every
                    channel —

It was a Sunday — September 14 — The Exultation of the Cross —
Trees split in half on that day —
The most beautiful ones in the yard — not the dead ones.

Do we have pretty bodies outside — some used for abortion,
but inside we can be dark in sin

Matthew 23: 25-26

‘Alas for you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of cup and dish and leave the inside full of extortion and intemperance. Blind Pharisee! Clean the inside of cup and dish first so that it and the outside are both clean.

Do we hear the cries of Mary

Mary's Message
from the Rosary of August 27, 1996

Mary:  I stood beneath the cross of my Son, and my Heart was in such pain for I saw Him before my eyes. I saw Him covered with blood. I saw Him die. My Heart, my children, my Heart to watch my Son, but my Heart, my Heart, how I suffered for my little children of the world that give in to this world and give up the love of my Son. O my little children of light, I give you this message. Carry this light into the darkness for your Mother Mary, for I stood beneath the cross and I cried. I cried for the little ones. I cried for the young ones, the ones that do not care and will lose their souls. How do I make you see for you will not listen to me? What can I do? I come. I appear. I beg. I plead. I give you these gifts from my Son, and you reject me. I do not deliver messages very often anymore for I have been ignored. The message is the same. You do not read the messages I have given to you. Please help me. Help the little children. I appear. I appear. I appear, and I am ignored. I stood beneath the cross, and I cried. I cried, and my Heart was in such anguish for my little children, for I am searching for them this day as I searched for the Child Jesus. Please, please help me. I cannot hold back the hand of my Son any longer. I am Mary, your Mother. I ask you to help my children. You are my children of light.

                    crying for her little ones?

How do we see — Fr. Pasquini said 1.4 million abortions a year —

God is above and beyond everyone else. After Fatima's
message was disobeyed there was World War II, but a bigger chastisement
                was the rise of secularism.

                    Jesus is the Divine Bridegroom.
                    Jesus a Divine Person —
                    Jesus the Son of God
Jesus the Savior of the world —

                On October 8, 1997 I received this message —

I was awaken with the message — He repeated and repeated
"Seedless, Barren, No Fruit on the Vine"

October 8, 1997

Jesus:  Seedless, barren, not bringing forth fruit on the vine. I come to be heard and who pays Me heed. To a people of stiffs I address this issue, what think you when the water is gone from the trough?

Do you think you will then worship the molten calf or will you be ready for surrender then?

Oh, you thankless race, anger and wrath is the mind of your God. You do not worry, My messenger, for I am God and I speak to you. You think you are alone and I have chosen you. Your money is your god, oh people of Zion - your money in the pockets is the sound that brings you joy.

What brings Me joy is the songs of the faithful, praising and worshipping God, but I go to the tent and there is the molten calf and an abased nation of stiffs, heartless and filled with fear. I beg of you to stop now before it is too late, but you do not know of the chastisement I have in store for you - it is under the plan of the Father.

The children who walk in darkness carried a molten calf in their arms and the God of justice struck the earth.

He struck you, senseless people, because you would not listen.

I did not put you on the earth and then leave you to yourselves. I dwelt amongst you to guide you in all your ways and the people today spit on Me as they did 2,000 years before. For all these years I waited for the likes of you, My people, and why should you have more time for false joy? Joy is not in the molten calf. It is in the words of the Savior.

My Words are your truth, yet you try to wash them away as hearsay and of no importance.

My Word is the Word of God mighty and true. I have been ignored and defiled in My Word. I smite you, My senseless race. I allow the dragon to devour your young for you are the senseless race. I allow the dragon to devour your young for you are the senseless children of Eve.

Debased, proud and dead, really dead in your hearts.

I give you sunshine and rain and you want flowers and glory.

The glory is Mine or I will have to continue to listen to the wailing widow, a barren branch, a company of stiffs.

Ignore Me no longer senseless ones. My hand is upon you. It will come down and wipe out the senseless virgins, the ones singing to the molten calf.

Rachel could hear the slaughter of her children and she wept such bitter tears. The Lady Clothed as the Sun bore the barren race; they did not come to her grace-filled womb.

The thankless race marched into a pit of doom and destruction.

As I was pressed in the garden watching the days at hand, as I was squeezed, what came forth from My pores was the saving Blood for the children of Zion and when they ate from the land they feasted on rich food and strong drinks, the candy of the earth and it made them sick - sick to the death of their souls and the Lady Clothed as the Sun heard the cries of her sick children. I give you the medicine for the sick children in these writings and they chase you and make you fall to the ground. I watched you skin your knees when you carried the scrolls that contained My letters of love, My words from the depths of My Heart. You fell as I once did on the way to Calvary. I fell, I skinned My knees, My Body burned and I got up and went to the end.

The end was the beginning for the children of Zion for at that hill My cross was planted erect, a tree of life, and the juice that was squeezed 'till there was no more from the one "Son of Man, the Son of God", was the juice of the Man. It was His saving Blood.

They pressed Me in the Garden of Olives and I bled for the thankless race. They hung Me on a tree on the hill of Calvary. When I gave them the New Eve they chose the molten calf. They spit on My Mother, they ignored the visitations. She came and gave to the children to remind them of their covenant with God.

Oh senseless ones, so many will now fall, for I hung there and to the right was one and to the left another. The one was saved; the other was cursed. You picked from the tree when you should have obeyed your Father. He gave you His will. He said, "You may eat of all the trees in the garden but not this one." and you continually ate of the forbidden fruit. I warned you, My children, and you chased My messengers and made them run. I gave to you My Book of Life, My Bible, and you ate the sick fruit and it made you so sick you wanted to die but you kept eating when I told you the end was near and now that the end has come, what do you say for yourself? You ignored the Lady Clothed as the Sun. She appeared in all glory and splendor and so many months later so few go to her site to even see her. So is it My fault or yours our money does not come to publish your books and tell the world about the Woman in Florida? It is not My fault, I am God. I am the faultless One.

You want joy. I have no joy for the likes of you, My children of Zion, you have usurped My thrones and treated My body as rubbish. I am God. I come in the Eucharist and I am ignored. I speak no longer. The days that follow will be the days to cleanse this earth.

I am angered beyond all anger for the way My Mother has been treated in Florida by the thankless race. They have worshipped the molten calf and ignored the Lady of Light, the Lady Clothed as the Sun, the Lady of Fatima in the Americas, Our Lady of Guadalupe, bringing forth her children. The good will suffer with the bad; the wheat will be separated from the darnel (weeds). You walked like little stiff men with your haughty hearts. Your heads were your gods. I gave you great minds to comprehend My mysteries and you used your minds to worship false gods and make movies that defile My priesthood. What of your minds? I do not even have energy to tell you how unworthy you used the mind, the intellect I gave you. You used this great faculty to commit the worst sins, and My head was crowned with the sharpest thorns for your sick earth. Oh, you squeezed the Blood from the Son of Man. You pressed that Man in the garden, when He knew this race of this day.

I now see the Woman on the building, My Mother, so loving to the children I gave her and the mean ones threw acid on her face. Oh, you race of vile hearts and thankless ways. I will clothe the holy ones in the white robes of glory. The thankless ones I will turn over to the red men that will hand them over to the keeper of the pit and their bodies will be burned in the burning sulfur of the pool of death. Come, My children of light, your Mother called you through the consecration. She showed you the way home to My Heart. She carried a lighted lamp and lighted your way in the darkness. You were not foolish like the virgins that carried a lamp without a light. Your light for the lamp was My life alive in your hearts. When the darkest night comes you will know the flames of My love alive in your lighted hearts, burning with the fire from the love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I give you the fuel, My faithful virgins. I gave you the fuel to light your lamps that in the dark night that lies ahead, you will still shine as a beacon light, a light of intense brightness no matter how dark the night. You will not die for your refuge is the fire of the Sacred Heart and you gave your heart to the New Eve, the pure and Immaculate One and she took you to the Heart of your Savior. She took you home and you dwelt within the chamber of My Heart and you were protected from the evil one in these last days. You tried to spread this consecration. It is the key that leads to the place of refuge. So many camps the devil told men to prepare and they labored in vain, for the Word was had in dwelling in Our Hearts. You would find refuge and they missed the message and busied themselves with the work of the evil one.

I say to you what refuge survived when Noah built his ark? Only those on the ark survived the great flood. You prepare your earth. When My Word was to prepare your hearts. Then again, they worshipped the church building, the grounds and the wood and their hearts were left as cold vaults. I beg you, My beauteous ones, to beg the men to prepare their hearts before it is too late. Only the Ark of the Covenant will be the means of survival in this dark age. When the moon turns to blood they will run away frightened and their buildings will be like cold vaults - only the hearts consecrated to Our Hearts will survive.

You were willful and too busy to know the story. The story is this: There is but one home; it is the Heart of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. My Mother is the gatekeeper. It is through her Immaculate Heart you enter. She is the singular vessel, a New Eve, a Woman Clothed as the Sun, a doorway to the everlasting abyss of Light, the Light of the World, the Sacred Eucharistic Heart of the Son of Man.

There was not room for Me in the Inn and there is not room for Me in the hearts of many and what can I say - they will die. I gave them the book of life. I gave them the Man who hung on a tree to save them. I gave them Myself, truly present in the Eucharist, the Eucharist and My Word I gave them. I gave to them My Mother - the way to enter into My Heart and they were haughty and proud. I was born in a stable in Bethlehem for you, My men. I am the Light of the World. The foolish virgins had no oil for their lamps and they went out. And you could hear the wailing cries of her children being slaughtered in the dark night. Oh, the Lady Clothed as the Sun warned them to come to her heart and the Heart of her Son (the Light of the World) and they went to the molten calf and they died a brutal death.

God determines before things are, that they shall be —

Do we want to try to control God —
                Man can change
                God is unchangeable

                One God

We know ourselves when we see through the eyes of God —
We are here to die to our imperfections to be more
perfect as our heavenly Father is Perfect.

We are here to walk into the arms of God —
We are on this earth to receive a reward for our obedience
to God — to be embraced by God for all eternity in
                        the beatific vision.

                    God has all the power.

He told me in 1991 — that the powers in the plugs run
out — His Power never runs out —

No matter what somebody thinks - they have no power
                        over God —

Life must be lived — We live a mystery — God's mystery —
as He reveals more and more about Himself and His
love to us. Man can never know all the truth that God
has to teach us. It is beyond our capability even to envision -
the mystery of God and His love for us.

A person steeped in pain, failed relationships can spend
their whole life trying to control and punish others for
the lack of forgiveness within themselves —

Just as one grows to know more about an endless
ocean of knowing God and growing to be more like Him —
a person acting in a circle - holding on through co-dependent
relationships and force - power over can hurt families
with the addiction they use to numb their awful pain —
                    addicted to misery —
                    punishing
                    controlling
                    fear of abandonment

The pain of a nation can be a boiling pot of its sin —
divorce, abortion, addicted to pretty bodies and
sports and ignoring God on Sundays, aborting
babies to have pleasure and look good.
Sports and looking good are good in themselves —
Focusing on sports and ignoring God is a sorry affair —
Aborting babies to have fun or look good is a horrible sin —

                The sins of the nation

We must tell God we are sorry and how we love Him —

Be united in the body of Christ — worshipping and honoring
God and praying and begging for healing graces and mercy —

Living united to the Mass in our Morning Offering —
helping to make recompense to God for the sins
of the human race — Loving God —
                    Honoring God, Worshipping God

There are the moment to moment choices of heaven or hell —
                    life or death —

Deuteronomy 30: 15-20

‘Look, today I am offering you life and prosperity, death and disaster. If you obey the commandments of Yahweh your God, which I am laying down for you today, if you love Yahweh your God and follow his ways, if you keep his commandments, his laws and his customs, you will live and grow numerous, and Yahweh your God will bless you in the country which you are about to enter and make your own. But if your heart turns away, if you refuse to listen, if you let yourself be drawn into worshipping other gods and serving them, I tell you today, you will most certainly perish; you will not live for long in the country which you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess. Today, I call heaven and earth to witness against you: I am offering you life or death, blessing or curse. Choose life, then, so that you and your descendants may live, in the love of Yahweh your God, obeying his voice, holding fast to him; for in this your life consists, and on this depends the length of time that you stay in the country which Yahweh swore to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that he would give them.’

Every beat of our hearts and how we lived to love or cause disharmony
and lead others into sin is known to the Infinite God —

We must want to know and love God if we are to do God's will
We must give Him this as an act of our will —
This can determine our eternal destiny.

We can accept the truth — as God teaches us —
or we can rebel and make our own rules and
give others a very bad example about - living
in love — selflessly - with a pure heart — not
inordinate attachments — doing all things for
the honor and glory of God.

                Life in Him.

Life knowing how God lavishly wants to love us and is teaching
a soft and gentle giving heart more and more every
day - to be like the Heart of Jesus.

We are made in the image of God —

A man may see himself dominant - writing his own
rules - not taking responsibility for his actions and
his path becomes darker and darker — finally
an end like a split tree —

The Christian walks the path behind Jesus — does not
chop trees in half, but carries the tree to
help others out of love, not for control and
                    vain glory.

How far will you veer when you lie —

Think of a hole and a piece of wood like
                        a ballbat in it —
every sin works a bigger hole when we
cover our eyes to sin with a bandana
and say "God doesn't notice" —

soon our habits become ones in which we
can cheat, steal, lie, be egotistical,
                            prideful, unloving, snippy

our actions can be to go over well meaning friends
that do good work — just for power for ourselves —
even when God wants the person doing it —
we block God's plan for our greed, selfishness,
                            pride, jealousy, lust.

Jesus paid the price for the lies and
Jesus paid the price for how we wasted our lives — living
them licking our wounds selfishly while we
never became the one spreading the light
for the honor and glory of God —
                    out of pure love

Giving our hearts to Jesus and Mary in love means we act
in love, in unity, our actions are not for our
honor and glory, but for the honor and glory of God.

We can be paralyzed by satan's lies and expect others
who live holy lives to help us — we live as
weaklings — squandering our days living
dark days — hurting others and carrying pain
to others wherever we go with our disharmonious ways
and need to control, fight - wanting others, too, to live
                    to glorify our selfish ways.

Think of the limitless perfection of God — of the
purity of one act — loving God so much and doing
everything for Him because it is His plan — we work
as one in love — more and more like the Trinity —

Families more united in selfless love
Jesus meek and tender of heart

The selfish, wounded person — cries to be on top —
be gratified to put in time — so they can have others
look at them and make them feel good because they don't
                feel good.

In other words men should live for them - because they
need it — they expect it — they use ways to force
                    dependence on them —

The heart runs the man in the ways of God
Think of the heart to the body
What about the heart to the spiritual life —

Spiritual growth depends on the love of one's heart —
                    the love for God
                    the love for each other

A person trying to think their way without heart in
                    the spiritual life is lost

                Hardened Hearts

32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time

Wisdom 6: 12-16

Wisdom is brilliant, she never fades. By those who love her, she is readily seen, by those who seek her, she is readily found. She anticipates those who desire her by making herself known first. Whoever gets up early to seek her will have no trouble but will find her sitting at the door. Meditating on her is understanding in its perfect form, and anyone keeping awake for her will soon be free from care. For she herself searches everywhere for those who are worthy of her, benevolently appearing to them on their ways, anticipating their every thought.

Matthew 25: 1-13

‘Then the kingdom of Heaven will be like this: Ten wedding attendants took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five were sensible: the foolish ones, though they took their lamps, took no oil with them, whereas the sensible ones took flasks of oil as well as their lamps. The bridegroom was late, and they all grew drowsy and fell asleep. But at midnight there was a cry, "Look! The bridegroom! Go out and meet him." Then all those wedding attendants woke up and trimmed their lamps, and the foolish ones said to the sensible ones, "Give us some of your oil: our lamps are going out." But they replied, "There may not be enough for us and for you; you had better go to those who sell it and buy some for yourselves." They had gone off to buy it when the bridegroom arrived. Those who were ready went in with him to the wedding hall and the door was closed. The other attendants arrived later. "Lord, Lord," they said, "open the door for us." But he replied, "In truth I tell you, I do not know you." So stay awake, because you do not know either the day or the hour.

November 6, 2005

INTRODUCTION: (Wisdom 6,12-16; Matthew 25, 1-13) Wisdom and intelligence, to some extent, are connected with one another, but I’ve known intelligent people who were not always wise. Wisdom is more than intelligence. It is the ability to see the great mysteries of life in greater depth. It is gained from experience, and learning, and meditation, and it is practical as we hear Jesus explain it in today’s gospel. When I read the paper about those who are fighting against the teaching that the universe could have come about by “intelligent design,” I wonder if it’s wisdom that they are missing out on. In spite of mysteries we can’t solve, they can’t conceive the possibility that there is some intelligence behind all that exists in our universe. Our first reading tells us wisdom is available for anyone who seeks it with honesty and openness. But those who find the search for wisdom too much trouble will be deprived of it.

HOMILY: A wedding is a big deal for us today, but after months of preparation, it’s over in just a few hours. At the time of Jesus it was really a big deal. They would celebrate for days. And there was no such thing as saying the wedding will be at such and such a place at 6:30 in the evening. According to custom the groom would go to the bride’s house to negotiate with the bride’s father and then the groom would bring the bride with him to his home and the celebrating would begin. On their approach to the home of the husband, the couple were to be met by ten virgins carrying lamps. (Street lights weren’t invented yet, you know.) Perhaps the groom was doing a little partying on his own before he went to claim his bride from her father, or maybe the groom and the father did a lot of dickering over what possessions the bride would bring with her when she left. At any rate no one worried too much about the time, especially since the celebration would last for a few days. The wise virgins were smart enough to prepare for whatever might happen. The foolish ones used no foresight at all. That’s part of wisdom: foresight, thinking ahead, considering what could happen if we take or do not take a certain course of action, being prepared. Jesus applies his lesson to eternal life. We’re only in this life for a short time. “Our citizenship is in heaven,” St. Paul tells us. We’re just tourists here, no matter what country or city we call home. Everything is temporary. Jesus tells us the wise person thinks ahead, they know some day they will have to meet their maker and they are practical. They make sure that they will be prepared when the Lord shows up on their doorstep.

We can’t interpret the oil in the story too literally. If we think of it as a material object that could be shared, we’re going to think how selfish of those five wise virgins. But it is something symbolic that is intangible, something that cannot be given to someone else. It is something that we have worked for like a loving relationship with God or the good works we have done or the wisdom we have gained through prayer and meditation. The person we have come to be through God’s grace can’t just be put into a bottle and given to someone else.

When I read about these five wise women, I can’t help mentioning two wise women I knew well who have met the bridegroom this past week. The first was Sister Joann, our principal here at St. Boniface for 18 years. As a dedicated Sister of Charity for 55 years, almost all of that time serving as a teacher or a principal, I can only marvel how many lives she has touched and how many people’s lives have been blessed because of her. Her lamp was filled with good works. The other wise woman I am thinking of is my step-mother. When I was 14 years old, the oldest of five, my mother died. My dad had five children to raise. Within a few months, Rosella came into our lives. She and my father were soon married and Rosella took care of us, until we had to start taking care of her. For the past three years the Little Sisters of the Poor took over caring for her and they did a marvelous job. After 52 years as our step-mother, we said good by to her this week as God took her. She was a wise lady, always putting God first. Her day always began with daily Mass when she was able to get to church. At the Little Sisters she was able to get to daily Mass, although at 95 she sometimes slept through it. She always taught us, and her step-grandchildren, to keep God first too. I would visit her every week and whenever I was leaving she would tell me: “If you don’t see me next week, I’m on my way to heaven.” She was totally at peace with herself, her God and all people she knew. Her lamp was filled with good works.

Our gospel is a little frightening today. It tells us about ten women, five of whom were prudent and wise and five who lost out on a grand time because they were not. The frightening thing was, they almost made it. There’s a saying “almost doesn’t count, except in horseshoes.” Our eternal happiness is too important to leave to “almost.” God wants us to be happy. He wants us to spend eternity with him. And for that we must give him our love. And love isn’t a matter of almost. A couple in love do not say to one another “I almost love you.” Love is total. The only way we’ll be totally happy is to totally love the God who is love. Amen.
