                R. Husbands and wives are to be
                committed — to be intimate, to be one,
                to build the marriage

                    Religious are to be committed to their
                calling, to their order — if they were unable to
                ever make intimate relationships in marriage
                or are divorced — they can latch onto a community —
                to try to live their single life —

                    Communities, whether marriage or religious
                are to live in unity — They are to be modeled after
                the Trinity — 3 Persons in one God —
                in marriage the 2 will be one flesh — living in
                a family, they build in love — to help build
                the Kingdom of God

                    Love for the religious is love for Jesus
                their Spouse, intimate love — teaching the
                Church and the world about the Heart of Christ —
                Knowing oneness — being people of the heart —
                Trying to live like the Heart of Jesus and Mary —
                dying to self — to live in greater union with
                God and others —

Prayer for Union with Jesus

Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.

    I am Yours to possess. I am Yours to use. I want to be selfless and only exist in You. Help me to spoon out all that is me and be an empty vessel ready to be filled by You. Help me to die to myself and live only for You. Use me as You will. Let me never draw my attention back to myself. I only want to operate as You do, dwelling within me.

    I am Yours, Lord. I want to have my life in You. I want to do the will of the Father. Give me the strength to put aside the world and let You operate my very being. Help me to act as You desire. Strengthen me against the distractions of the devil to take me from Your work.

    When I worry, I have taken my focus off of You and placed it on myself. Help me not to give in to the promptings of others to change what in my heart You are making very clear to me. I worship You, I adore You and I love You. Come and dwell in me now.

A Prayer for Intimacy with the Lamb, the Bridegroom of the Soul

     Oh Lamb of God, Who take away the sins of the world, come and act on my soul most intimately. I surrender myself, as I ask for the grace to let go, to just be as I exist in You and You act most intimately on my soul. You are the Initiator. I am the soul waiting Your favors as You act in me. I love You. I adore You. I worship You. Come and possess my soul with Your Divine Grace, as I experience You most intimately.

                A person in a family is loyal to that family
                They build the family

                They work as a unit to build the Kingdom of God
                    in that family or community

                    Jesus gives us His body to be so one
                in Him — God wants intimacy with us —
                God wants us to have intimacy with others —
                God gives married couples the marriage act
                to show love and be one flesh — in Him

                    If a married person is unfaithful,
                spends too much time away from family, is unloving
                in his heart to his spouse or her to him —
                see themselves as single, the marriage
                will not be one as Jesus wants — ONE FLESH

                Jesus says —
                    COMMITMENT, not having secrets,
                oneness in mind and heart, love for
                each other, love for the family — each
                person helps the other grow in love —

                but he loves her like Christ loved the
                Church — mutual love and respect — each
                working toward the unit, the family —

                    People who are "loners" can become
                bigger loners if they can see only through
                their eyes and demand their way — living
                not for love, but their inordinate attachment
                can be pushing others away —

                    People can be in a family, an institution
                and be unfaithful by slandering their own
                family — they raise themselves above those
                over them with pride by criticizing
                and resisting the very house they were
                called in their vocation to serve —

                    God gave us rules — rules are for our
                good — without rules there is utter
                pandemonium — a person sees only
                themselves, their routine — they don't want
                to be messed with — they want the food
                their way — they think everyone lives to
                serve what they want — rules are broken
                because they tell everyone — they are the
                rule

                    Unfaithfulness to the family God asked
                us to serve can be in two forms

                    Like Anger — there are 2 roads to
                Columbus, Fr. Mike told me once

                Both get anger out

                PROVOKING — HIDDEN — CRUEL

                one passively attacks until they make
                    another angry — or others angry to
                    act out their anger

                ACTIVE ANGER

                person is always mad and acts out
                    their anger

                There are two roads to disobedience
                    1) one disobeys
                    2) the other is subtle —
                        one goes as far as they can not
                            delivering the needed materials
                            or work
                        deceptively — they hide their unwillingness
                            to cooperate on the surface —
                            they get the same result

                The second is worse because besides
                    disobedience there is control
                    and deception —

                    Usually unfaithfulness to family
                is hidden

                    A person committed to an order — like
                Fr. Carter was to the Jesuits — serves with
                all their heart and prays to follow their
                vocation —

                    Husbands and wives should pray either
                individually or together for their vocation —

                    Our vocation is the way God the Father
                intended us to live — to be a witness —
                to help build the Kingdom of God —
                to serve God — to honor God — to die
                to our selfish ways and to learn
                about unity

                    Like being a member of the Church
                we should constantly be living to be
                greater one with Christ and others —
                there by help renewing the Church and
                the world as members of the body of
                Christ —

                    A hand doesn't say to the foot get
                lost if they belong to the same man —
                likewise in a community, a marriage and
                family, the Church —

                    We can contribute — NOT in
                rebellion or selfishness, but as
                a unit — the hand and the foot serve
                the same body and work together and
                are one

                    Wouldn't it be silly for a hand
                to flirt with another body — if
                they need to serve the body they are on —

                    We are all called — in our vocation —
                to spread Christ's light to the world
                as a unit —

                    If a person wears a sign —
                        "STAY AWAY"

                    or actively provokes others in
                        the community, family to
                        resist harmony, unity —

                    the family, community will not
                        be as fruitful

                They can eat up all their time dealing
                    with rebellion, disorder,
                    disobedience —
                    failure to do anything for others
                    to build it up and be fruitful

                The structure is constantly challenged —
                    as the bobbing person seeks
                    dominance for dominance sake

                In a family — if the husband or wife
                    is never home and fighting to
                    get free to be alone —
                    the marriage suffers or
                    one is robbed of life
                    dealing with resistance and
                    unpredictability

                ACCOUNTABILITY and
                    Responsibility for one's actions
                    are necessary
                 

                Man is accountable for his actions.
                Man must take responsibility for his
                    actions, Fr. Mike says

                From St. Thomas book

                    "Man is different from everything else
                in the world of nature because he is
                free. He has control of his actions.
                If a stone is unbalanced on a mountain
                side it must roll down. If a tomato
                plant is planted in good ground and
                given sufficient nourishment, light,
                and moisture it must grow."

                    Man has a free will —

                    Look at the martyrs — they could have
                sinned, but they were heroic — they
                chose good over evil — God over
                themselves —

                    The saints learned to die to themselves
                and live to serve God —

                    We have a free will to choose good or
                evil —

                    We can see our actions determine
                our eternal salvation —

                    Man performs acts to lead him to
                his goal —

                    Is his goal choosing God and thus happiness

                    Is his goal an impurity because
                        of his wounded human
                        nature.

                    A man can choose jealousy to try
                        to block a just man performing
                        a needed work.

                    A person can try to control with
                        needed work or information to
                        block a good man trying to do God's work.
                        Satan works through the wounded
                        human nature — pressing on a person
                        with jealousy, anger, greed, lust,
                        gluttony, sloth, envy, and pride
                        to get a person to have an evil goal --

                    Where God calls us to serve in
                our vocation — we can actually work
                opposed to God's plan for an evil
                goal because of jealousy, lust,
                slothfulness
