I Am the Doctor
Jesus: ...I want you to care for yourself because you are indeed so precious to Me. I am here to help you with your lives. Turn to Me and ask Me to show you your shortcomings. I will instruct you in all you need to know about you. Come and be entirely open and tell Me that you want to hear from Me. I want you to beg to do My will. I want you to open yourself in your little heart and let Me in to do the work you and I know you need. Surrender to Me, little babies. No matter what your cares, your solution lies in Me and how you take Me seriously. You need to spend time and you need to be so open to Me. You must learn to let Me do it My way, not yours. All your trials are gifts from Me to do My work. The teachings I give you may help all know how to get closer to Me.
I am indeed here every day in your life. It is you who miss My whispers because you do not come or do not come in silence and spend time with Me. If your life isn't working, it is because you have turned yourself into caring for your needs. I am the Doctor. I cure your sickness. I care about your getting better. I am not like other doctors. I do not have to listen to you and then guess about your case. I know exactly how to fix you. I am waiting to do it. You need only come to the real Doctor and ask for My healing cure. You would go to the doctor if you were really ill, but My sick brothers do not come to Me in their sickness. They keep doing much of the same thing which made them sick to start with and is making them sicker today. Encourage your friends with diseased souls to come to Me. I heal like no doctor ever knew possible. I know your problem more than you and I know exactly what you need to be cured. Tell them to come and sit with Me alone in church. Just as you go to the doctor, come to Me with your burdens and I will make them light. All this "stuff" is so insignificant and so unimportant. Most of your sickness is yourself. You're making yourselves doctor, turning to your own sick minds for your answers, or going to other human beings who tell you to do different things that sometimes make you sicker or things in which you stay just as sick.
Would you go to a trucker for a sick body? Why do you go to humans for a sick soul? The soul is a creation of God. It can only be cared for by Him. Go to God to care for your spirit. Go to the Holy Spirit for care of the spirit. Go to Jesus for your life. Come to The Father Who loves you. Pour out your heart's laments. Don't go to a trucker for the care of your soul! What foolishness! I wait and watch and wonder at such stupidity.
Listen, little babies, I am here night and day. You need no appointment. You come to Me and I fill you. I am giving to you when you come. I ponder your hearts and know you better than yourselves. Come in your humbleness and quit acting as if you know it all. You know little. When you hurt, you get on the phone for one or two hours and wail at your brothers who are no smarter than you.
You have a choice. You should have a place of prayer in your house, somewhere you can go and turn to Me during the day so I can give you what you need. It is so simple. You are making it all so complicated. I watch and wait. I have the cure. Come to Me. Don't go anywhere else when your heart aches and you feel doubt. Come close to Me, run to your altar, empty your cares to Me. Let Me caress your little bodies and give you My love, love only I can give! God's love! Don't go anywhere else. I would pull your phones from the walls and plug the cords into My heart. I have what you need, My scared little children. Quit this waste of time. TV and telephones. What enemies to your families and to Me! Watch your time. Write it down-how you spent it in useless ways! Give your children their due. Don't rob Me of My time. I am telling you, you will be accountable for your time and how you use it. I lent it to you to do My work. I lent it to you to serve Me. Am I the center of your life or are others gods? I want My time and I want you to minister to your families. You don't owe others your time. Anyone who calls on the phone in your home should expect you to say, "I am busy now." If they get upset then they are being very selfish. Your time is My time to be tending to those things I need you to do. Tell your friends you are busy now, and come to be with Me. Such useless time spent while people's children are ignored. Oh, you are so blind. Don't squander My time. It is valuable. You waste My time on idle talk. Every moment should be spent in service of Me. Give to Me My due and you will know in your heart how to live. You are such children. You need to listen to Me and quit acting as if you know it all. This is your downfall-your big egos. I have a plan for you. I want you to cover My earth. You must come and let Me work in your hearts.
I love you so, little ones. Come and listen to Me.

R. Seeing through the eyes of the Father —
who loves us so much and sent His Son to
show us how to live —
God is love — Loving our vocation
and knowing God will give us all we need
to do it - if we love — pray for His grace —
Learn we are here to learn to be together —
we don't know how to get along — not
be self-conscience — see through
scared - self-focused — self-conscience —
eyes — see through the Father's eyes —
doing what he wants —
not patterned behavior out of
self-consciousness — doing
God's will — knowing Jesus is
with us — sitting with us —
helping us be a family —
united in love — learning to
get along
When people get self-conscience they
see through their eyes —
They must see God with them —
Loving them
Not get nervous
Learn to be with others and not
be anxious and get too
talkative proving they are
okay to others
Or being shy — afraid — wanting
to run — creating walls
by doing the opposite of
what they should do
That is be harmonious
Working together —
Not seeing through selfish eyes or
self-focused eyes —
self-conscious eyes —
But doing God's will
fighting any thing involving
self-dominance
self-consciousness
Be as Jesus calls us in our
vocation —
See Jesus using us as His
instrument
See through the eyes of the Father —
be actors
not reactors
Not crippled with fear
learning to work IN ORDER
together —
in harmony
We must learn —
like learning to share —
like learning to ride a bike —
like learning to tie our shoes —
Learning to work in
families in love
families in order —
Wanting Peace
Some are addicted to excitement —
have to have confusion —
tension - anxiety they create —
We want to let go of those
defects of character that
are in us
Sometimes getting mad
we get a rush and
energy when we get angry sometimes
we don't want that kind
of nervous energy —
the devil can press on us to
feel tired —
We don't want anxiety in
being in the company of others —
we want peace —
pray not to be nervous around others
pray not to want isolation around others
pray these urges go away
anxiety
pray we want to work together as the Father wants
So we can be a powerful
unit — in
one mind and one heart —
in peace —
happy
Working as the Father's family —
in one accord —
in love —
UNITY —
Productiveness —
PEACE —
Harmony —
ORDER —
Pray for healing of old emotional —
wounds, unfinished business
that is hidden anger —
that can rage
seek control
Want peace —
Pray every hour or 1/2 hour for grace
Don't give into
addictions to misery
addictions to conflict
Be peaceful and have fun
Be rooted in God
See through the Father's eyes
Discern the spirits
Don't just act
Don't act in old habits
that are anxious,
nervous, destructive
Pray to change them —
Look at oneself—
Know ourselves and destructive
habits
Listen and be taught
The rewards are happiness
Let go of control
Let go to God
Both feet off the ground
Surrender to God's will
Peace means sacrifice
We can be different and be at peace
Peace comes in having
a relationship with our
heavenly Father
Jesus is with us
Jesus is the Prince of Peace
Jesus called His Father
Abba Father.
Jesus called the Father — Abba
Jesus wants us to have
peace in our families
peace in our hearts
being instruments of peace
We thank God for suffering
Pray each day for peace
We are to be witnesses to the Gospel of love —
Sing: Jesus, Jesus the Light of the world
The Father's family is dysfunctional —
Jesus prayed to His Father
We need to see things through the Father's eyes
Pray for the council of the Holy Spirit
Praying always and realizing how ardently
God loves us —
The devil is the father of lies — he wants hate —
God is love —
God gives us a free will — to love or be unloving —
to be harmonious or disharmonious —
to be like Jesus and tell the truth —
to listen to the father of lies and
hate and lie —
Are we more perfected as Our heavenly Father —
Matthew 5: 48
And if you save your greetings for your brothers, are you doing anything exceptional? Do not even the gentiles do as much? You must therefore be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect.’
Mary is the perfect handmaid of the Lord —
Jesus: And I feed you with My Word, Myself in the Eucharist
I am the Bread of Life —
John 6: 48-58
I am the bread of life.
Your fathers ate manna in the desert
and they are dead;
but this is the bread
which comes down from heaven,
so that a person may eat it and not die.
I am the living bread
which has come down from heaven.
Anyone who eats this bread
will live for ever;
and the bread that I shall give
is my flesh, for the life of the world.’Then the Jews started arguing among themselves, ‘How can this man give us his flesh to eat?’ Jesus replied to them:
In all truth I tell you,
if you do not eat
the flesh of the Son of man
and drink his blood,
you have no life in you.
Anyone who does eat my flesh
and drink my blood
has eternal life,
and I shall raise that person up
on the last day.
For my flesh is real food
and my blood is real drink.
Whoever eats my flesh
and drinks my blood
lives in me
and I live in that person.
As the living Father sent me
and I draw life from the Father,
so whoever eats me
will also draw life from me.
This is the bread
which has come down from heaven;
it is not like the bread our ancestors ate:
they are dead,
but anyone who eats this bread
will live for ever.
R. Come Lord Jesus — fill us with Your life —
Oh Jesus we love you —
Outpour Your grace
Dying You destroyed our death — rising You restored our life —
Lord Jesus, come in glory —
The Mass is a Mass praying to the Father —
Our Father
Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. * Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Sing: Glory, Glory, Glory Lord
Excerpt of The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, by Louis J. Puhl, S.J. P.60-61
136. THE FOURTH DAY
A MEDITATION ON TWO STANDARDS
The one of Christ, our supreme leader and lord,
the other of Lucifer, the deadly enemy of our
human naturePRAYER. The usual preparatory prayer.
window at a former Jesuit Seminary
137. FIRST PRELUDE. This is the history. Here it will be that Christ calls and wants all beneath His standard, and Lucifer, on the other hand, wants all under his.
138. SECOND PRELUDE. This is a mental representation of the place. It will be here to see a great plain, comprising the whole region about Jerusalem, where the sovereign Commander-in-Chief of all the good is Christ our Lord; and another plain about the region of Babylon, where the chief of the enemy is Lucifer.
139. THIRD PRELUDE. This is to ask for what I desire. Here it will be to ask for a knowledge of the deceits of the rebel chief and help to guard myself against them; and also to ask for a knowledge of the true life exemplified in the sovereign and true Commander, and the grace to imitate Him.
FIRST PART
THE STANDARD OF SATAN
140. FIRST POINT. Imagine you see the chief of all the enemy in the vast plain about Babylon, seated on a great throne of fire and smoke, his appearance inspiring horror and terror.
141. SECOND POINT. Consider how he summons innumerable demons, and scatters them, some to one city and some to another, throughout the whole world, so that no province, no place, no state of life, no individual is overlooked.
142. THIRD POINT. Consider the address he makes to them, how he goads them on to lay snares for men and bind them with chains. First they are to tempt them to covet riches (as Satan himself is accustomed to do in most cases) that they may the more easily attain the empty honors of this world, and then come to overweening pride.
The first step, then, will be riches, the second honor, the third pride. From these three steps the evil one leads to all other vices.
SECOND PART
THE STANDARD OF CHRIST
143. In a similar way, we are to picture to ourselves the sovereign and true Commander, Christ our Lord.
144. FIRST POINT. Consider Christ our Lord, standing in a lowly place in a great plain about the region of Jerusalem, His appearance beautiful and attractive.
145. SECOND POINT. Consider how the Lord of all the world chooses so many persons, apostles, disciples, etc., and sends them throughout the whole world to spread His sacred doctrine among all men, no matter what their state or condition.
146. THIRD POINT. . . .

Prayer from St. Ignatius
Lord, teach me to be generous.
Teach me to serve you as you deserve;
To give and not to count the cost;
To fight and not to heed the wounds;
To toil and not to seek for rest;
To labor and not to ask for any reward,
Save that of knowing
that I am doing your will.
There must be obedience
The devil attacks authority —
Then there is no order —
The devil is disorder —
People in religious communities need spiritual
directors
Children in families have parents —
The Pope is the Vicar of the Church
Romans 8: 5-9
Those who are living by their natural inclinations have their minds on the things human nature desires; those who live in the Spirit have their minds on spiritual things. And human nature has nothing to look forward to but death, while the Spirit looks forward to life and peace, because the outlook of disordered human nature is opposed to God, since it does not submit to God's Law, and indeed it cannot, and those who live by their natural inclinations can never be pleasing to God. You, however, live not by your natural inclinations, but by the Spirit, since the Spirit of God has made a home in you. Indeed, anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.
Sing: Of the Father's Love Begotten
We are to be trained
Disciples are learning —
If we think we know it all we
are not a disciple —
People learn when 'little children' how to
be in a community
People can marry and be in another
community
Jesus calls religious to serve the
Church —
He calls some in communities —
We learn how to work in
mature Christian unity
in a new way —
as religious
as priest
as one in community life
When one is to bring young men and
women into religious life —
they need to be people who
can work in community —
one who isolated a lot in
intimate relationships,
stayed thinking in the family
system and not working
with different
people from different
family systems —
may think they know how
to bring others together —
We need to be trained in dealing
with others and different families and
the candidates for religious life
wanting to learn
how to live in a community
of adults
they aren't children —
old brother, sister, mother, father
problems can be acted out
as unfinished business
from wounded emotions
A person who marries another if
they want intimacy with
their spouse has to learn
to work with the 4 systems
coming together
A & B get married (2 systems)
But A's mom and dad came from
different systems
and B's mom and dad came from
different systems
Really 4 different systems
are involved
People's order of birth in the
family —
How mom taught the daughter to
be a woman
How his mom (the groom) taught
him the role of women
How the groom's dad taught
him to be a man
How she viewed her dad as
a man —
How much they worked with
other men and women
teaching them about
roles as men and women
Men and women differences
From the garden
men wanting dominance over women
or visa versa — a strong-willed woman
from what she believes or wants
4 to get married
Now put single, unrelated, adults
together who may or may not
have worked much with others
I like what the priest said at Mass.
We can be different and have peace
We are the child of the past —
That little child is still in there —
We must parent that little child —
In intimate relationships we must
learn how to get along —
In religious communities we learn
the rules of living —
to bring in more people to be
witnesses of hope to help
souls to get to heaven —
If we stayed to ourselves a lot
of our life — we must
adapt to the religious
order —
We are there to be witnesses —
to help growth —
Sisters, brothers, priests must learn
to be other centered —
bring in new candidates
not see through the same eyes as
when they were single
Look through the eyes of God first
want to please Him
There is a lot to learn of people
from different families
to work with each other
But our love for God —
wanting to be like Mary and Jesus —
loving the souls Jesus died for
Helps us to see through the eyes
of God FIRST
not selfish, self-conscious
eyes —
But just loving God and others
wanting to learn to
help all the souls we
can and
Live to please God as adults
in our vocation
Heaven is for lovers
We will be possessed by God —
Father, Son and Holy Spirit
The Father, Son and Holy Spirit is the most
perfect community —
I die to my selfish ways to
live more the resurrected
life
In suffering with Jesus even
in relationships —
I can learn great
lessons to help
build the Kingdom —
Twelve Steps of AA
Here are the steps we took, which are suggested as a program of recovery:
1. We admitted we were powerless over alcohol, that our lives had
become unmanageable.2. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God
as we understood Him.4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
5. Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact
nature of our wrongs.6. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
7. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.
8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to
make amends to them all.9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to
do so would injure them or others.10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong
promptly admitted it.11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious
contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge
of His will for us and the power to carry that out.12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps,
we tried to carry this message to alcoholics,
and to practice these principles in all our affairs.
A person's life can become unmanageable
to them or seem to be unmanageable —
They must go inside of themselves
and tell the truth about
their past
Lying to oneself about emotional
wounds and projecting the
pain on others does not work —
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life —
We are here to embrace the truth
We are here to be pure like Jesus —
The more we look at the painful,
past and work through the layers
of hidden pain —
The more we come to union with God
and intimacy with others —
People who have lied about the past
hurts and are walking in pain
go to addictions to numb
the pain — they do not live —
Really LIVE life as they can — they can be
addicted to drugs, food, misery,
controlling
The rules we want to follow are the rules of
God the Father —
People may not like these rules —
God wants us to be happy —
Happiness comes in a clear conscience
rooted in the truth —
Happiness is different than
suffering
A person can have joy inside
because of union with God,
but still be suffering because
of others, the way they give into
their wounded human nature —
Christ was stripped
He was born in poverty
He was stripped in His passion —
Stripping ourselves of addictions
is necessary for mastery
of self —
When people see through God the
Father's eyes —
they see the whole world —
the plan of salvation
They are a witness to hope
They are not thwarted by layers and
layers of emotional wounds
that keep them stuck and then,
they become more dysfunctional
and act out their past on
others — trying to seek a
resolve for their unfinished
business
They surrender to God's guidance
They do not try to control those
around them and every
thing around them
They realize God is in control and
He is mighty and
They want God's will for
all men
They realize God put us here
to tell the truth —
To work in greater perfection
inside of oneself
People are responsible for their
actions —
ACCOUNTABILITY
We are never satisfied with ourselves
and we want to change to be
better —
We look at the person we are and
the person God wants us to be —
the ideal self — as Fr. Carter calls it and
we are working to be more and more
in that image and likeness
of God
We know that only God can help us
to do this and we develop a
deep dependency on Him
We pray for God's will and to
carry it out as He desires —
Stripping ourselves of falsities we have
told ourselves — to be bare

Jesus: BABY, BARE BABY, LAID BARE
Bare, Bare Baby, Laid Bare
Open yourself, Oh Jerusalem, your time is come you will be a light to the people in darkness, many will walk whence you come and the earth will be shakened and the light will come across a dark sky and enlighten their minds.
Oh stiff-necked people, you are so stiff in your ways, let the Spirit envelope you and lead you on your way.
A country of stiffs, a people of planning and prodding, of deliberating and wondering—you lack faith, Jerusalem, you lack faith in God.
Oh walk naked into the cold night, you are cold in your hearts and naked in your clothing—I clothe you with glory, I light your face with light, but you turn your cheeks to the darkness and stay stiff-necked in your hearts. Oh cold and dark hearts, reach for the light that you may know the glory that awaits the sinners and enlightens their minds.

They see themselves put in place
with others and they work with
others in love —
Seeking oneness and
Peace
They don't have stored up hatred
they wish to act out —
They want to let go of the defects
of character they have —
They seek to recognize them —
They seek the truth —
They don't live in this merry-go-
round called denial about
their hidden anger and pain and
faults —
They realize we are here to love God
to love one another — to walk
hand-in-hand
We live in the Spirit (the Holy Spirit)
We listen to His council —
We aren't caught up in layers and
layers of pain, where we
suppressed our feelings
and do not feel —
like an ice cube
We are living to peel off the
layers of the onion — to be
more sensitive —
to live —
to be in touch with the core person
inside of us
to be the person God wants us to
be
We don't look down on other men —
we realize

A Scriptural Reflection
15In this work of ongoing redemption, each of us has a special mission, a special role to fulfill. No one can fulfill another's mission. Each of us, being a unique person, has a unique mission to carry out. John Cardinal Newman reminds us: "...everyone who breathes, high and low, educated and ignorant, young and old, man and woman, has a mission, has a work. We are not sent into this world for nothing; we are not born at random...God sees everyone of us; He creates every soul, He lodges it in the body, one by one, for a purpose. He needs, He deigns to need, every one of us. He has an end for each of us; we are all equal in His sight, and we are placed in our different ranks and stations, not to get what we can out of them for ourselves, but to labor in them for Him. As Christ has His work, we too have ours; as He rejoiced to do His work, we must rejoice in ours also."
We are looking at the truth about
ourselves — trying to find it —
finish - unfinished business and
be actors loving others and
working with them in the world —
Serenity Prayer
"God grant me the serenity to
accept
the things I cannot change and
the courage to change the things
I can and the wisdom to know
the difference."
Look at our own misdeeds
Be truthful — in this lies our peace —
Make restitution for all I have
done
Let your weight be light —
Others who are untruthful hurt
themselves, the others, the
whole world —
Being a member of the body of
Christ means being more and more
likened to Christ
So His life is abundantly in us
We are united in the body of Christ.
We seek greater purity and truth —
We live as God commands
loving God and one another.
We have forgiven men who
offend us
We don't give into destructive
patterns that hurt ourselves
and hurt others —
Lying to ourselves about our past
is what hurts us and others
God is truth —
God wants us to live in the truth
Living in Him
Living to love God and others
I don't escape the hurtful past —
I resolve to forgive —
To deal with it —
To finish the unfinished
business in loving God and
others — so the wounds heal
in my heart —
Not a gaping wound
Draining me of life
And pinning my hatred on
innocent others
I live to love
I live to be like Christ
I live to build the Kingdom of God
Open Anywhere
God has called us in our vocation to
love others — to help them to get to
heaven
But to be pure in my efforts of loving
and helping others
not attached
not punishing
helping as Mary would do —
as the perfect disciple of the Lord
Listening to God's counsel —
being a disciple means
we are ready to learn
Jesus came and died to teach
us how to follow Him —
Being a disciple means we are
listening like Mary
Mary is the perfect handmaid
of the Lord
Luke 1:46-55
And Mary said:
My soul proclaims
the greatness of the Lord
and my spirit rejoices
in God my Saviour;
because he has looked upon
the humiliation of his servant.
Yes, from now onwards
all generations will call me blessed,
for the Almighty
has done great things for me.
Holy is his name,
and his faithful love extends age after age
to those who fear him.
He has used the power of his arm,
he has routed the arrogant of heart.
He has pulled down princes
from their thrones
and raised high the lowly.
He has filled the starving with good things,
sent the rich away empty.
He has come to the help
of Israel his servant,
mindful of his faithful love
—according to the promise
he made to our ancestors—
of his mercy to Abraham
and to his descendants for ever.
From The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius,
by Louis J. Puhl, S.J. p.1121. SPIRITUAL EXERCISES
Which have as their purpose the conquest of self
and the regulation of one's life in such a way that
no decision is made under the influence of any
inordinate attachment
I ask God to help me live more
fully in Him —
To be a witness of truth —
to be a real Christian —
Christ - like
To be free of old baggage I lug
around —
so I am empty and I can be
filled by Him
so I am full of His love
With God's help we can change to be
more like Jesus —
be His instrument
We can stop run-on-thinking about
things that will never happen —
go and be united where God wants
us — not put up walls because
of fear and insecurity and nervousness —
But who cares if we look scared —
go and do what God wants and it will
go away
I am living to be more the self —
God wants me to be —
united to Him
loving Him and others
We humbly ask God to remove our
shortcomings and
we are willing to let them go —
we want to be changed —
God help me to be ready to
take my faults away —
I have admitted my shortcomings and I
want to change
Holy Spirit help me to see where I need
to change to be more like Jesus
Sing song: Give Me Your Heart oh Jesus
I want to receive light on my
problems
We blame others and
miss big things about
ourselves that need to
change —
Fr. Carter did his examination
of conscience twice a day —
When we ask God's help for something
we must give Him a chance
to work and
surrender to His timing and
His way
Have an attitude of gratitude
Don't work alone —
ask for God's help
Do it His way
Give Me Your Heart oh Jesus
give me a heart like yours —

promptly admitted it.11.
Words of Surrender of a Soul
Words of Consecration to God
Today Lord, (today's date), I give You my entire will-
I give You all my liberties, I want to love and serve You as You desire.
I surrender myself to You.
I ask You to run my life.
I ask You to help me act like You, Jesus, and like Your Mother Mary.
God, this day I consecrate myself to You.
I am (name) , Your beloved child, guide me on my way now as I go about my day (or if in Church) as I leave Your Eucharistic presence.
Prayer for Union with Jesus
Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.
I am Yours to possess. I am Yours to use. I want to be selfless and only exist in You. Help me to spoon out all that is me and be an empty vessel ready to be filled by You. Help me to die to myself and live only for You. Use me as You will. Let me never draw my attention back to myself. I only want to operate as You do, dwelling within me.
I am Yours, Lord. I want to have my life in You. I want to do the will of the Father. Give me the strength to put aside the world and let You operate my very being. Help me to act as You desire. Strengthen me against the distractions of the devil to take me from Your work.
When I worry, I have taken my focus off of You and placed it on myself. Help me not to give in to the promptings of others to change what in my heart You are making very clear to me. I worship You, I adore You and I love You. Come and dwell in me now.

Words of Jesus to Members of
Shepherds of Christ Associates:"My beloved priest-companion, I intend to use the priestly newsletter, Shepherds of Christ, and the movement, Shepherds of Christ Associates, in a powerful way for the renewal of My Church and the world.
"I will use the newsletter and the chapters of Shepherds of Christ Associates as a powerful instrument for spreading devotion to My Heart and My Mother's Heart.
"I am calling many to become members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. To all of them I will give great blessings. I will use them as instruments to help bring about the triumph of the Immaculate Heart and the reign of My Sacred Heart. I will give great graces to the members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. I will call them to be deeply united to My Heart and to Mary's Heart as I lead them ever closer to My Father in the Holy Spirit."
- Message from Jesus to Father Edward J. Carter, S.J., Founder, as given on July 31, 1994,
feast of Saint Ignatius Loyola, Founder of the Society of Jesus (The Jesuits)
