1 John 2: 18-21

Fourth condition: 
to be on guard against Antichrists

Children, this is the final hour; 
you have heard 
    that the Antichrist is coming, 
and now many Antichrists 
    have already come; 
from this we know 
    that it is the final hour. 
They have gone from among us, 
but they never really belonged to us; 
if they had belonged to us, 
    they would have stayed with us. 
But this was to prove 
that not one of them belonged to us. 
But you have been anointed 
    by the Holy One, 
and have all received knowledge.
I have written to you 
not because you are ignorant of the truth, 
but because you are well aware of it, 
and because no lie 
    can come from the truth.

John 1: 1-18

A: PROLOGUE

In the beginning was the Word:
the Word was with God
and the Word was God.
He was with God in the beginning.
Through him all things came into being,
not one thing came into being
   except through him.
What has come into being in him was life,
life that was the light of men;
and light shines in darkness,
and darkness could not overpower it.

A man came, sent by God.
His name was John.
He came as a witness,
to bear witness to the light,
so that everyone might believe
   through him.
He was not the light,
he was to bear witness to the light.

The Word was the real light
that gives light to everyone;
he was coming into the world.
He was in the world
that had come into being through him,
and the world did not recognise him.
He came to his own
and his own people did not accept him.

But to those who did accept him
he gave power to become children of God,
to those who believed in his name
who were born not from human stock
or human desire
or human will
but from God himself.
The Word became flesh,
he lived among us,
and we saw his glory,
the glory that he has from the Father
   as only Son of the Father,
full of grace and truth.

John witnesses to him. He proclaims:
‘This is the one of whom I said:
He who comes after me
has passed ahead of me
because he existed before me.’

Indeed, from his fullness
    we have, all of us, received—
one gift replacing another,
for the Law was given through Moses,
grace and truth have come
   through Jesus Christ.
No one has ever seen God;
it is the only Son,
   who is close to the Father’s heart,
who has made him known.

 

Jesus: I am the way, the truth and the life.

Absolute truth.

Do not give into habit to stretch what the truth is, to lie about what happened.

The more you veer from the truth the closer you turn toward Satan.

The truth is not something you make up to play a victim or get others to manipulate.

I am the truth –

Just do your duty and tell the truth. Quit playing games so you are right when you are offending God.

Satan is deception.

He lured Eve in the garden by appealing to power.

Do God’s will.

The more hard-hearted you are in willfulness, the more you distance yourself from God.

Satan is the Father of lies.

I am your love.
I stand close to you and I watch you.

I love you so very much.

I ask you to be holy to do God’s will.

Many are intent in sinning and I beg talking to them. Don’t do that, tell the truth, be good, obey the commandments, I love you so much. And they ignore Me and many like their ways sinning before the eyes of God, some telling themselves it is okay - others are wrong.

How can you blame others when you sin - you give into Satan?

Do you examine your conscience?
 

Act of Contrition

"O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee, and I detest all my sins, because I dread the loss of Heaven and the pains of Hell, but most of all because they offend Thee, my God, Who art all-good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy grace to confess my sins, to do penance and to amend my life. Amen."

Jesus: Some just live in a prideful victim role.

And I cry to them

I love you

Be holy like Mary.

This Movement is about loving with your heart.

What is your motive?

Love

Getting even from stuffed anger at others life-long that some deny.

When you act in love you are open,

Your heart is not hard,

Your chin on the defensive to start a fight.

Examine yourself and tell the truth.

I command you to love.

My Hand Is In Everything

Jesus: Come and be a witness for Me. By your example you teach so many lessons. You are My servants in this world. At every moment you are teaching the word of God. You must guard against being tired and down-hearted. I am your Savior and you teach a mighty lesson every minute of your day.

Guard against things of the world. Everything here is momentary: food, sex, money. Here today, gone tomorrow. Only the things of the spirit last forever. You are a temple of the Holy Ghost. The road you are treading is full of pot holes. At any moment your foot slips and you feel engulfed by the road. This is how life is. Satan is constantly in your way to trip you up. Guard against his tactics. You are tired in this world, but these trials are the gems of your learning. Do not curse the trials and the pitfalls. Accept them as an opportunity to offer up your sufferings to Me. Such little things offered up are mighty prayers. Look at disappointments as golden gems.

I came as a great teacher to teach you mighty lessons. Be taught by Me constantly. I am the way, the truth, the life. You need to abide in My ways and I will give you the light of life.

It is in acceptance of all that is before you that you grow in your relationship with Me. Do not try to throw back into My face the little opportunity for grace you receive. Child, I am ever by your side and I am ever teaching you. Accept all things as happening from Him Who loves you. Know that My hand is in everything you are experiencing. I am vigilant and by your side. Nothing happens to you that I have not consented to.

You are My messenger and this is My message: Look to Me and keep your heart fixed on the God Who loves you. At every second, turn to Him and place yourself in His arms. I am Jesus and I love you!

 

R. Do you thank God for the gifts of people who have tried to help you, while you punished them for independence and control?

How can a person lie and call a hard heart of bitterness likened to Mine?

I am love.

I died giving the last drop of My Blood for your sins.

This Movement is about love like Mine in your heart.

Not bitterness, stuffed anger, pride, power, control, independence, being closed and selfish.

Love is living with an open heart likened to Mine.

Being open is not holding back for power and control.

The world tells you focus on yourself.

I tell you to do the Father’s will and have a heart like Mine.

The more closed a person’s heart, the more the body doesn’t work right.

The more closed your spiritual heart,
The more you are stiff and the further you are from My Heart of love.

The Movement is about dwelling in My Heart of love.

Consecrating your heart to Our Two Hearts.

These messages need to circulate in this hard-hearted world of power and control.

The world was created by God for love, obedience and the Father’s Plan.

 

Prayer for Union With Jesus

Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.

I am Yours to possess. I am Yours to use. I want to be selfless and only exist in You. Help me to spoon out all that is me and be an empty vessel ready to be filled by You. Help me to die to myself and live only for You. Use me as You will. Let me never draw my attention back to myself. I only want to operate as You do, dwelling in me.

I am Yours, Lord. I want to have my life in You. I want to do the will of The Father. Give me the strength to put aside the world and let You operate my very being. Help me to act as You desire. Strengthen me against the distractions of the devil to take me from Your work.

When I worry, I have taken my focus off of You and placed it on myself. Help me not to give in to the promptings of others to change what in my heart You are making very clear to me. I worship You, I adore You and I love You. Come and dwell in me now.

Encourage all to consecrate their hearts to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Sacred Heart of Jesus, to join the Shepherds of Christ Chapters, and the Apostles of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus Movement to pray for your Church and your world. The Holy Family - December 30, 2007

HOMILY - ... A family that is seriously dysfunctional teaches a lot of other things that end up not being very helpful. The success of society depends on the health of the family. That creates a big burden for families to carry. It also puts a big burden on society to care about the family and to foster healthy families.

    Today we celebrate the importance of another family, our parish family. Here too we discover who we are as God’s children, how to trust God and to love God and one another. We learn values here too, values that are intended to lead us into eternal life. Hopefully we learn how to give as well as take, how to forgive as well as be forgiven. Here we gather around a family table to be fed, not with perishable food but with food that will nourish us eternally. Our faith community is just as important in its own way as our family of origin. And the Lord’s supper that we share is just as important to our spiritual well being as being together and eating together as a family is to our emotional well being.

The Holy Family - December 30, 2007 continues

    It has been my privilege to be pastor here for the ten years since our merger. None of us knows what the future holds, but if I could make a guess, I think for many reasons St. Boniface will be here for a long time. As for myself, if my health holds up and if the Archbishop lets me I would like to be here for at least another six years. By then I will be 70. I do not know what I will do when I turn 70. I will have to reevaluate things when I get there.

    I do want to say how grateful I am to have so many people’s support. There’s only one thing I wish, and that is that more people took seriously the serious obligation to attend Mass weekly. I think that for the most partfamilies are strengthened by meals together. And the Lord’s supper is our family meal each week. I have seen too many people, once they get away from going to Mass every week, slowly drift away from their faith. St. Paul gives us a wonderful list of virtues that would enhance and enrich any of our relationships with one another, especially the relationships within our families: compassion, kindness, gentleness, humility, patience, forgiveness, etc. Notice in this short passage he tells us twice to be grateful. The words St. Paul wrote of course were Greek, but you might find it instructive to hear what words he used: the verb he used was “Eucharisteo.” And he tells us we are to become “Eucharistos.” It is obvious from these words that the Eucharist allows us to perfectly fulfill his mandate. It is a perfect act of thanksgiving because, in a special way, we, as God’s sons and daughters, offer thanks in union with God’ own Son, Jesus Christ. May we, on this anniversary, give thanks for our family in Christ, and for our own immediate families. May we be strong and healthy families, full of thankfulness, and may we rejoice one day in the home of the one Father we all have in common, our Father in heaven. Amen.

The Presentation

Now in Jerusalem there was a man named Simeon. He was an upright and devout man; he looked forward to the restoration of Israel and the Holy Spirit rested on him. It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death until he had set eyes on the Christ of the Lord. Prompted by the Spirit he came to the Temple; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the Law required, he took him into his arms and blessed God; and he said:

    Now, Master, you are letting 
        your servant go in peace 
    as you promised; 
    for my eyes have seen the salvation 
    which you have made ready 
        in the sight of the nations; 
    a light of revelation for the gentiles 
    and glory for your people Israel.

As the child’s father and mother were wondering at the things that were being said about him, Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, ‘Look, he is destined for the fall and for the rise of many in Israel, destined to be a sign that is opposed—

Mary Mother of God - January 1, 2017

    I would like to end with a word about the most important thing any of us can do this coming year. Keep God first in your life. If you keep God first, everything in your life will fit together better. Remember Adam and Eve. As long as they obeyed God, they were in paradise. When they decided to ignore what God commanded them, they lost everything. Prayer helps us keep a healthy perspective on all of life. Without prayer our perspective on the various elements in our life gets distorted.

    Keeping God first means keeping the Commandments, going to Mass, taking some time to pray. A sign outside of a church asked: “Is prayer your steering wheel or your spare tire?”

    Keep God first and it will be a better year for you; that is not to say if you follow God more faithfully, it will be a time when all your days are problem free, but it will be better than if you try to pass your days without seeking God’s help. Amen.

Feast of the Epiphany - January 8, 2017

INTRODUCTION – Jerusalem was destroyed by the Babylonians 587 years before Christ. The Jews who were not killed by the Babylonians were taken to Babylon as exiles. Fifty years later, the Persians (people living in modern day Iran) conquered the Babylonians, and they allowed the Jews to return home. What the Jews returned to was still in shambles just as when it had been destroyed 50 years earlier.

    Rebuilding was extremely difficult. Today’s prophet, writing about 500 years before Christ, tries to encourage the people and assure them Jerusalem would again be a great city. He sees Jerusalem becoming the center of spirituality and light for all the world. People would come from everywhere to visit Jerusalem and to be nourished by the spiritual light and life radiating from it. St. Matthew sees this vision fulfilled in the birth of Jesus and the coming of the magi. When you hear the last few lines of today’s first reading, you will understand why it was chosen for today’s feast of the Epiphany.

January 5, 1997

R. On January 5, 1997, I was wakened by Our Lord and He was mumbling as He was around my bed as He did on October 8, 1997, when He delivered the "Seedless, Barren, No Fruit on the Vine" message.

I heard Him and He repeated the words over and over again. I had a copy of the all-night message on the floor, I jumped from the bed and began to write around the message, for it was the only paper available and He was speaking very plainly and direct. I wrote this message in the margins of the paper. He kept repeating "BABY, BARE BABY, LAID BARE".

Jesus:  Open yourself, Oh Jerusalem, your time is come you will be a light to the people in darkness, many will walk whence you come and the earth will be shakened and the light will come across a dark sky and enlighten their minds.

Oh stiff-necked people, you are so stiff in your ways, let the spirit envelope you and lead you on your way.

A country of stiffs, a people of planning and prodding, of deliberating and wondering—you lack faith, Jerusalem, you lack faith in God.

Oh walk naked into the cold night, you are cold in your hearts and naked in your clothing—I cloth you with glory, I light your face with light, but you turn your cheeks to the darkness and stay stiff-necked in your hearts. As the child’s father and mother were wondering at the things that were being said about him, Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, ‘Look, he is destined for the fall and for the rise of many in Israel, destined to be a sign that is opposed—and a sword will pierce your soul too—so that the secret thoughts of many may be laid bare.’

The Loss of Jesus in the Temple

(1) We pray to God to lift us
    up and teach us about
    love –

        love –

(2) Luke 2: 41-52

Every year his parents used to go to Jerusalem for the feast of the Passover. When he was twelve years old, they went up for the feast as usual. When the days of the feast were over and they set off home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem without his parents knowing it. They assumed he was somewhere in the party, and it was only after a day’s journey that they went to look for him among their relations and acquaintances. When they failed to find him they went back to Jerusalem looking for him everywhere. 

    It happened that, three days later, they found him in the Temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them, and asking them questions; and all those who heard him were astounded at his intelligence and his replies. They were overcome when they saw him, and his mother said to him, ‘My child, why have you done this to us? See how worried your father and I have been, looking for you.’ He replied, ‘Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?’ But they did not understand what he meant. He went down with them then and came to Nazareth and lived under their authority. His mother stored up all these things in her heart. And Jesus increased in wisdom, in stature, and in favour with God and with people.

    by God –

Prayer for Union With Jesus

Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.

I am Yours to possess. I am Yours to use. I want to be selfless and only exist in You. Help me to spoon out all that is me and be an empty vessel ready to be filled by You. Help me to die to myself and live only for You. Use me as You will. Let me never draw my attention back to myself. I only want to operate as You do, dwelling in me.

I am Yours, Lord. I want to have my life in You. I want to do the will of The Father. Give me the strength to put aside the world and let You operate my very being. Help me to act as You desire. Strengthen me against the distractions of the devil to take me from Your work.

When I worry, I have taken my focus off of You and placed it on myself. Help me not to give in to the promptings of others to change what in my heart You are making very clear to me. I worship You, I adore You and I love You. Come and dwell in me now.
