Prayer for Grace for our Country
Dear Father united to Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Sacrifice of Calvary sacramentally made present, celebrated around the world, in the Holy Spirit. We offer up all we do united to the Mass. We unite in one mind and one heart as members of the mystical body of Christ, with Christ our head in the pure and holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary, through the powerful intercession of Mary with all the angels and saints and souls in purgatory, and we beg for the saving grace, for our country, the United States. Please help us. We further pray for unity to always do the will of God in love. We spread the Blood of Jesus on the leaders and people of the United States and cast the devil into hell. We consecrate our country to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and all our dioceses, and beg for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God help us. We pray for our families, the priests, the Church and the world. In the Name of Jesus please hear us, we pray. We pray for our president and leaders. We pray that we are united as one nation under God to work together in love as God wants.

1 John 2: 18-21
Fourth condition:
to be on guard against AntichristsChildren, this is the final hour;
you have heard
that the Antichrist is coming,
and now many Antichrists
have already come;
from this we know
that it is the final hour.
They have gone from among us,
but they never really belonged to us;
if they had belonged to us,
they would have stayed with us.
But this was to prove
that not one of them belonged to us.
But you have been anointed
by the Holy One,
and have all received knowledge.
I have written to you
not because you are ignorant of the truth,
but because you are well aware of it,
and because no lie
can come from the truth.
John 1: 1-18
A: PROLOGUE
In the beginning was the Word:
the Word was with God
and the Word was God.
He was with God in the beginning.
Through him all things came into being,
not one thing came into being
except through him.
What has come into being in him was life,
life that was the light of men;
and light shines in darkness,
and darkness could not overpower it.A man came, sent by God.
His name was John.
He came as a witness,
to bear witness to the light,
so that everyone might believe
through him.
He was not the light,
he was to bear witness to the light. The Word was the real light
that gives light to everyone;
he was coming into the world.
He was in the world
that had come into being through him,
and the world did not recognise him.
He came to his own
and his own people did not accept him.But to those who did accept him
he gave power to become children of God,
to those who believed in his name
who were born not from human stock
or human desire
or human will
but from God himself.
The Word became flesh,
he lived among us,
and we saw his glory,
the glory that he has from the Father
as only Son of the Father,
full of grace and truth.John witnesses to him. He proclaims:
‘This is the one of whom I said:
He who comes after me
has passed ahead of me
because he existed before me.’Indeed, from his fullness
we have, all of us, received—
one gift replacing another,
for the Law was given through Moses,
grace and truth have come
through Jesus Christ.
No one has ever seen God;
it is the only Son,
who is close to the Father’s heart,
who has made him known.
A Prayer for Intimacy with the Lamb, the Bridegroom of the Soul
Oh Lamb of God, Who take away the sins of the world, come and act on my soul most intimately. I surrender myself, as I ask for the grace to let go, to just be as I exist in You and You act most intimately on my soul. You are the Initiator. I am the soul waiting Your favors as You act in me. I love You. I adore You. I worship You. Come and possess my soul with Your Divine Grace, as I experience You most intimately.
R. We see Jesus – Lamb of God –
Jesus shows Himself to us a servant –
We study the life of Jesus, we were created
in His image and likeness –
Jesus gave.
Jesus shows us He gave Himself –
He gave Himself willingly – He was directed –
He obeyed the Father's will –
He was other focused –
He came to teach us about Himself,
about His Father, the love of
the Holy Spirit –
If a ball has a hole in it – it doesn't
operate properly.
A ball is to be full of air and it has
no holes, it can bounce and it
can be used for games etc.
A ball with a hole is a dud – it
can't be used for any games –
all the air leaks out –
In a message Jesus gave to me on
May 13, 1993.
Cling to Me
May 13, 1993
Jesus: My dear child, if you stay close to Me, then I live in you and you live in Me. I am He Who created you and I love you with such an intensity that you will never know. My words are your truth. You must abide in My heart in all things. There is no room for doubt. My ways are steadfast, direct, and without error.
You must stay rooted in Me to ward off the power of the evil one. His grip is paralyzing and crippling. His power is stronger every day.
When you live in Me, I am in your heart and he has no power over Me. I am your God. I am your true lover. I want to protect you. I want to guard you from this force. Stay rooted firmly in Me and he will have no power.
I am He Who comforts you. My hand is upon you. Hold tight to Me, My child. My eyes are fixed right on you. You are My most precious child. I love you as no other can. My arms are about you. My tenderness surrounds you. My love is in your heart. You go not alone. I walk with you.
I share every aspect of your life with you. Cling to Me, feel My presence. It is warm and secure within your chest. There is no room for fear, for I cast out fear and bring you comfort and joy. end of May 13, 1993
R. He wants us to be one in Him –
He gives us Himself in the Eucharist –
He gives us a sharing in His life in
baptism.
He is life –
When a person fills themselves with
themselves, they are like a ball
with a hole in it –
God is Divine –
God gives us a sharing of Divine Life
in baptism –
God fills us with Himself –
The Bread of Life is the Eucharist and
the Word –
Mary carried the child Jesus inside of her –
She gave us the child Jesus – so Jesus'
love could go out to the world –
The more Jesus is in us, the more we
bring Jesus to the world –
We are made of body, mind and spirit.
We need to be filled in our interior life
with Jesus, so we can take His
love – in our hearts – out to the
world –
Jesus is the Lamb of God –
the servant of God –
God commands us to love others –
When the devil works in the mind – he
tells a person – they must be safe –
closed in, selfish – collapsed –
like the ball with the hole –
Our interior life must be filled with
Jesus –
God commands us to have relationships
of love –
(1) Love of God (2) Love of others (3) Love of self –
A person can be told over and over again and shown
love, over and over again, but
they have a free will to choose to be
shut down, closed, collapsed and
seek only the familiar messages in
their minds –
"I am cheated" –
"People aren't safe" –
be collapsed – with no interior life
rooted in God –
A collapsed ball doesn't bounce.
R. An empty well doesn't give water –
God is life.
God is love.
Jesus says
"I am the way, the truth and the life."
But a person with their free will can
refuse to even look up –
They have a free will to say –
same old, same old
same messages, same victim
rule – black darkness.
And when they want, act out on others
blaming them because they refuse
to fix the ball and fill it
with life and love –
The Shepherds of Christ is about the music of the
interior life rooted in God –
Balls are made to be filled with air –
Our bodies, brains have systems
that need balance –
There is a fight or flight in our brain
to get us acting and going.
There is a place of rest – needed in
sleep, relaxation, rest, music
These systems need balance –
Our hearts were made to pump life in
the body –
Our hearts were made for love –
If we live in a war zone in our hearts,
and listen to dark messages of
hate in our heads –
we will have a war zone –
a fight coming out of us –
seeing through this very dark filter
we refuse to change –
seeing others as enemies
wanting no one in our space –
ruling in control – like all that
exists is us that is safe.
We are a work in progress –
We see the message of Jesus in the stable –
He is perfect and He comes to
an imperfect world to teach us
to be more like Him –
We can be shut down and never want
to change –
seeing ourselves as the source –
God is the source –
God fills us –
Jesus is the Light
God is love and the source of
happiness and peace.
Jesus gives us the Blue Books to teach us,
to grow, to learn, to love, to see
His love for us, to come from
the source of love – we need
to dwell in the Heart of Jesus,
on fire with Love in His Heart –
A collapsed ball, shut down is not
going to bring joy to others –
Our hearts were made for love –
Giving our heart to Jesus and spreading
this devotion to His Sacred Heart
is the work of the Shepherds of Christ.
Jesus came and died for us so we could
have eternal life with Him in heaven –
He is our eternal King –
If we make ourselves the king of our
hearts – we are like a collapsed
ball –
We are wounded, imperfect, satan is real,
he lies in telling people – "people
are enemies, there is no love" –
satan is hate –
But a person trapped in the familiar
with controlling everything by
their own source –
with their free will can enjoy in
darkness their own choice
to be in power –
over everything – and
the power they feel when they raise
themselves up with abusing others
makes them darker.
Fr. Carter says being unloving is sinning –
Excerpt from Response in Christ by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S. J.
The Christian and Sin - Chapter Six
The Nature of Sin
What is the nature of sin? Contemporary theology emphasizes that sin is not primarily a violation of a law, but a disruption of personal relationships. Sin is a refusal to love. Serious sin is a radical refusal to love. Venial sin is a partial refusal to love.
The most obvious personal relationship that is affected by sin is that between God and the sinner. In sinning a man fails, to a lesser or greater degree, to accept God's loving gift of Himself. He fails also to respond with his own gift of love. In serious sin man refuses intimate friendship with God. In venial sin he dulls the ardor of that friendship. Man, in so far as he sins, maintains that he does not want his life to be directed by the loving hand of his heavenly Father. He wants to be a law for himself; he wants to be the one who decides what is good for himself and what is not. Schoonenberg observes: "Especially in the prophets sin is an aversion from and an unfaithfulness to Yahweh himself; hence it is placed in the heart rather than in the wrong deed. We see that aversion, that rebelliousness, that lack of faith which precede the act of transgressing the Law already in the story of the sin in paradise, where it is presented as the wish of possessing autonomously the knowledge of good and evil, of being independently the Law unto oneself. . .”1
1. P. Schoonenberg, Man and Sin (Notre Dame, Indiana: Fides, 1965), p. 8.
R. The interior life –
The Father, Son and Holy Spirit dwell in
the graced, baptized soul –
God put us here to help each other
go more and more to Him –
We are a work in progress
A stone being molded into the image of Christ,
A person full of love and life
carrying Jesus out to the world –
The individual Christian, the Church
and the world is to be growing
more and more in the image of Christ.
We are to be transformed –
Have the mystical marriage –
A person who disobeys authority, laws,
the commandments, God's will,
invites darkness in their
hearts –
They aren't independents –
Satan comes inside stronger
the more we turn away from
God and disobey Him –
We can have an interior life – the
more we seek God –
seek obedience –
love His will –
seek purity –
Independence isn't hating others,
being collapsed in your heart –
inviting unloving sinful hate
of our brothers –
God created others too in His image and
likeness –
We are imperfect – a work in progress –
The dark person is the one who thinks they
have arrived and need not the light –
the gift of God's love –
Satan tells them – It's not safe to
love – to trust others
We must discern because we're all
imperfect, but living with our
god being ourselves is a very
bad place to be in.
Jesus was the suffering servant.
God is a light to the Nations that His
salvation may reach the ends of the
earth.
We carry Jesus out to the world –
We are not the source – God in
us, operates in us in love –
but we constantly are growing
in Him – being transformed –
Jesus is the Pascal sacrifice –
the Lamb of God!!
Jesus is the Pascal sacrifice who
takes away the sins of the world –
Some who are in darkness and see themselves
as the source –
see themselves without any sins
they are the end and beginning –
collapsed in like a ball with a hole –
Jesus is the Savior –
Blue Book 11 tells us how we help in the Work
of Redemption –
Satan wants to fill a person with pride –
"I am right" I am the god –
The person full of Jesus – knows
He is the source –
They walk humbly –
They surrender control –
They have peace in their
hearts not war fighting
to beat the rule of Jesus
to love and give themselves –
They have so much to learn about Jesus.
Jesus is the Messiah –
Baptism changes us forever –
We don't receive it and forget
about it thinking we know
it all –
It elevates our capacity to know and
our capacity to love – that is
to grow ever more supernaturally.
Pride is a deadly sin –
Pride puts ourselves on top –
it's a very bad habit – a person
can then choose all their actions
making themselves on top and
others below them –
How far do they go to grow
ever deeper in the
darkness of pride, while
they turn their backs on
who is God – not them.
The devil tells them
They are ALL in ALL – WRONG
God IS
Our job is to grow in the Light
of Jesus –
Our interior life rooted in Him –
Surrendering to His way –
Prayer for Union with Jesus
Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.
I am Yours to possess. I am Yours to use. I want to be selfless and only exist in You. Help me to spoon out all that is me and be an empty vessel ready to be filled by You. Help me to die to myself and live only for You. Use me as You will. Let me never draw my attention back to myself. I only want to operate as You do, dwelling within me.
I am Yours, Lord. I want to have my life in You. I want to do the will of the Father. Give me the strength to put aside the world and let You operate my very being. Help me to act as You desire. Strengthen me against the distractions of the devil to take me from Your work.
When I worry, I have taken my focus off of You and placed it on myself. Help me not to give in to the promptings of others to change what in my heart You are making very clear to me. I worship You, I adore You and I love You. Come and dwell in me now.
-God's Blue Book, January 17, 1994

and the world lay in
darkness – waiting the
birth of Jesus –The gift of love –
The gift of Our Savior –
The Father's love for us –
And the light shown in
the darkness –Our Father's love given
to us –How can we receive
this gift?In gratitude –
In love for Him –
Receiving such a gift and
being satisfied with
His generosity –Fr. Frank said
"Some people are
never satisfied."We give gifts because
We are walking in the
footprints of God –Love is giving, from the
heart –To give and not count
the cost –To give whatever we
can because we
are following Jesus –
We are created by Our
Father
who is love –
How are we growing
in love to be likened
to Him –
The ultimate gift –
Love –
Jesus gives us Himself
to His death on

Jesus gives us the Eucharist –
We receive God – the
ultimate gift –
God comes to us –
We eat His Body –
We drink His Blood –

R. Our life is a breath here
we strut on the stage of
life –
We have our day –
Have we walked in the
footprints of Jesus –
Have we given ourselves –
The Father so loved the
world to give
us Jesus –
Love is giving ourselves –
Love is not being afraid
to give –
Love is giving for others
because we love
them –
We love God first –
Christmas is about love –
Showing others what
God means to us –
God is love –
Why do anything if it
is not for love –
Even suffering, handling
difficulties –
must be done for
love –

Sorrowful Mysteries
The Agony in the Garden
(1) Jesus: I died for you sweet one,
I died, I love you so much.
Many in sin get pleasure
sinning and watching others
suffer.
(2) Mary: My beloved Jesus, I cry bloody
tears because of the unfaithful
ones who offend You and
are hypocrites parading before
others like they are religious,
when they enjoy the power they
get in disobeying God.
(3) Mary: My Children the truth
will set you free.
(4) Mary: God is absolute truth, my children –
He loves you so much.
(5) Mary: God created you in love in His
image and likeness.
He stands by your bed, the very
hairs of your head are numbered.
He pleads with you to stop sinning
and He says "I love you, please
stop your evil ways, I died for you."
(6) Mary: Satan is the Father of lies. A
person can dislike themselves
and punish innocent others
for the darkness they give
into inside of them.
(7) Mary: I am the Queen of Peace –
Prayer of St. Francis
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, life.
Where there is darkness, light.
Where there is sadness, joy.O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled, as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned.
It is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
(8) Mary: Those filled with
hatred inside are
at WAR inside and they do
not feel – their hearts are hard.
(9) Jesus: I am the way, the truth and the life.
(10) Jesus: I suffered so much for these
sinners so hard and hateful
in their hearts –
I sweat Blood in the Garden –
I was comforted in the Garden
by your love.
The Scourging at the Pillar
(1) Jesus: And they beat Me, tied to the
pillar their hearts so hard.
(2) Jesus: They enjoyed beating Me –
Power to make others suffer
is such a despicable sin –
Loving hurting others - so evil.
(3) Jesus: They loved beating Me with
whips - like a person that loves
hurting others for power –
despicable.
(4) Jesus: I cried blood for those who
love hurting others and
whip others in their behavior
for power and pride.
(5) Jesus: They tore My flesh and
the ones today, some lie
and lie about their
malicious hearts – I cried blood.
(6) Jesus: So many gifts I have given here –
So much love - I gave the last
beat of My Heart –
the last drop of
My blood –
Many of My special chosen
ones are so unfaithful
to Me –
(7) Jesus: They pounded their whips on My
body – deep wounds for
senseless ugly sins some
enjoy hurting their brothers
in pride.
(8) Jesus: They have been given so many gifts
of love from Me and to some
nothing is ever enough.
(9) Jesus: Sin is being unloving to your
brothers on purpose to
hurt them and watch
them suffer –
Some love working others
up for fun –
Despicable and I cried
blood –
I bled profusely –
(10) Mary: Gaul to have pleasure
watching others suffer
at your hands of power –
Gaul – God watches this
scandalous behavior.
The Crowning with Thorns
(1) Mary: They pounded thorns in Jesus'
head – He is the King – you
are servants –
Those who enjoy power hurting
others make me cry blood –
ugly.
(2) Mary: Why would anyone who knows
Jesus' love – willingly offend
God with deliberate disobedience –
They deny they sin. Some sin
mortally and without confession
run to Communion –
(3) Jesus is the King – He is over,
Man is under –
1. I, the Lord, am your God. You shall not have other gods besides me.
(4) Jesus: I cried blood in the Garden for
the two-faced and grossly
unfaithful –
I command you to love your
neighbor as yourself –
(5) Jesus: Games – some love games
like making a sport out
of getting power over
innocent others –
Despicable.
(6) Mary: Gaul, Gaul and more
Gaul to offend God in
so gross disobedience.
(7) Dear Mary, the Holy Spirit came
upon you to give us Jesus –
help us Holy Spirit to
grow in the image of God.
(8) God help us to see things
truthfully in our relation
to God –
You cannot take trinkets
with you.
(9) Dear God we give
You honor and glory.
Amen.
(10) 1 John 4: 7-11
My dear friends, let us love one another, since love is from God and everyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. Whoever fails to love does not know God, because God is love. This is the revelation of God's love for us, that God sent his only Son into the world that we might have life through him. Love consists in this: it is not we who loved God, but God loved us and sent his Son to expiate our sins. My dear friends, if God loved us so much, we too should love one another.
The Carrying of the Cross
(1) Under the gaze of the
Father's eyes we love
God with our whole heart,
whole soul, whole being.
(2) 1 John 4: 17-21
Love comes to its perfection in us when we can face the Day of Judgement fearlessly, because even in this world we have become as he is. In love there is no room for fear, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear implies punishment and no one who is afraid has come to perfection in love. Let us love, then, because he first loved us. Anyone who says 'I love God' and hates his brother, is a liar, since whoever does not love the brother whom he can see cannot love God whom he has not seen. Indeed this is the commandment we have received from him, that whoever loves God, must also love his brother.
(3) 1 John 4: 12-18
No one has ever seen God, but as long as we love one another God remains in us and his love comes to its perfection in us. This is the proof that we remain in him and he in us, that he has given us a share in his Spirit. We ourselves have seen and testify that the Father sent his Son as Saviour of the world. Anyone who acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God remains in him and he in God. We have recognised for ourselves, and put our faith in, the love God has for us. God is love, and whoever remains in love remains in God and God in him. Love comes to its perfection in us when we can face the Day of Judgement fearlessly, because even in this world we have become as he is. In love there is no room for fear, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear implies punishment and no one who is afraid has come to perfection in love.
(4) Piety helps us never to want
to offend God.
We love God and the Blessed
Mother, the Church,
the saints in heaven and
people of the earth.
(5) We love our parents,
our superiors and
see God in them.
(6) We do our duty in our
vocation diligently and
in love –
(7) "He who loves Me, will
keep My commandments."
(8) The gift of fear of God
means we respect
God –
The one thing that takes
us from God is sin.
(9) A childlike love of our
heavenly Father, we
know He loves us –
(10) If you fear God you
will prepare your
heart and soul.
The Crucifixion
(1) The flesh wants death (sin).
(2) The spirit wants light and
peace.
Romans 8: 5-9
Those who are living by their natural inclinations have their minds on the things human nature desires; those who live in the Spirit have their minds on spiritual things. And human nature has nothing to look forward to but death, while the Spirit looks forward to life and peace, because the outlook of disordered human nature is opposed to God, since it does not submit to God's Law, and indeed it cannot, and those who live by their natural inclinations can never be pleasing to God. You, however, live not by your natural inclinations, but by the Spirit, since the Spirit of God has made a home in you. Indeed, anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.
(3) Romans 8: 14-17
All who are guided by the Spirit of God are sons of God; for what you received was not the spirit of slavery to bring you back into fear; you received the Spirit of adoption, enabling us to cry out, 'Abba, Father!' The Spirit himself joins with our spirit to bear witness that we are children of God. And if we are children, then we are heirs, heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ, provided that we share his suffering, so as to share his glory.
(4) Prayer for Union with Jesus
(5) Holy Spirit strengthen me.
(6) Holy Spirit help me to grow
in my heart –
Grow in the interior life.
(7) Help us to have zeal for
love of You who
suffered for us.
(8) Excerpt from Blue Book 15
(Pope Pius XII, Mystici Corporis AAS. XXXV, 232-233)Through the Eucharistic Sacrifice Christ the Lord desired to set before us in a very special way this remarkable union whereby we are united one with another and with our divine Head, a union that no word of praise can ever sufficiently express. For in this sacrifice the sacred ministers act not only as the representative of our Saviour, but as the representative of the whole Mystical Body and of each one of the faithful. Again, in this act of sacrifice, the faithful of Christ, united by the common bond of devotion and prayer, offer to the eternal Father through the hands of the priest, whose prayer alone has made it present on the altar, the Immaculate Lamb, the most acceptable victim of praise and propitiation for the Churchs universal need. Moreover, just as the divine Redeemer, while dying on the Cross, offered Himself to the eternal Father as Head of the whole human race, so now, in this clean oblation He not only offers Himself as Head of the Church to His heavenly Father but in Himself His mystical members as well. He embraces them all, yes, even the weaker and more ailing members, with the deepest love of His Heart.
(9) Luke 22: 19-20
Then he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.’ He did the same with the cup after supper, and said, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood poured out for you.

Guiding Light homily series — Reflect on the Word — Cycle B The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand. $15 |
Guiding Light homily series — Steadfast to the Son — Cycle A The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $15 |
Guiding Light — Focusing on the Word — Cycle B At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $15 |
Guiding Light — Feed My Soul — Cycle C In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $15 |
Guiding Light — The Word Alive in Our Hearts. — Cycle A (partial) Homilies by the Reverend Joe Robinson given at St. Boniface Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is a tremendous honor Fr. Joe has allowed us to share these great gifts with you – for greater holiness and knowing more and more about God. $10 |

Priestly Newsletter — 2000 #1 — CD. — Christ is Our Strength — Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. read it the year he died. It is so beautiful. "This brief passage contains one of the greatest lessons of the spiritual life. As we progress along our spiritual journey, we become increasingly aware of how weak we are in our—selves, but how strong we are in Christ. To experience our weakness involves suffering. The degree and kind of suffering can vary. The suffering can include the experience of the classical dark night of the spirit as described by St. John of the Cross. One of the main purposes of the dark night is to make a person keenly aware of his or her helplessness without God." quote by Fr. Carter from the newsletter $10 |
