Prayer for Grace for our Country
Dear Father united to Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Sacrifice of Calvary sacramentally made present, celebrated around the world, in the Holy Spirit. We offer up all we do united to the Mass. We unite in one mind and one heart as members of the mystical body of Christ, with Christ our head in the pure and holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary, through the powerful intercession of Mary with all the angels and saints and souls in purgatory, and we beg for the saving grace, for our country, the United States. Please help us. We further pray for unity to always do the will of God in love. We spread the Blood of Jesus on the leaders and people of the United States and cast the devil into hell. We consecrate our country to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and all our dioceses, and beg for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God help us. We pray for our families, the priests, the Church and the world. In the Name of Jesus please hear us, we pray. We pray for our president and leaders. We pray that we are united as one nation under God to work together in love as God wants.

Mysteries of Light
The Baptism of Jesus
1. Put yourself at the Jordon River. The sun is reflecting on the water, a little current, the Light is perfect for what is about to happen.
2. John the Baptist is there and Jesus tells him he is to baptize Him. John the Baptist does not really understand. Jesus tells him to do as He asks.
3. The light is beautiful, the day is bright, the sun shines on the water, People are around.
4. John is getting ready to baptize Jesus.
5. Jesus stands in the river and above Jesus' head is a dove and much light.
6. The sky is thrown open, the light above Jesus so bright and the voice of the Father is heard, the voice of the Father.
7. "This is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased".
8. John the Baptist does as Jesus has asked him to do.
9. There is the presence of the Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
10. God is a God of miracles - this is so special, see all the light, seize this precious moment, meditate on it. These are the mysteries of Light. The Baptism of Jesus begins the public life of Jesus.
The Marriage at Cana.
1. Jesus and Mary go to a wedding at Cana. Weddings are a celebration, exciting and happy.
The center of this day is love between a woman and a man.
2. They are celebrating with wine and the wine runs out. Mary tells Jesus that they have run out of wine.
3. Jesus says that His time has not come yet, but Mary tells the servants to do as Jesus tells them.
4. In Jesus' public life He performed many miracles.
5. Jesus told the servants to fill the water jars with water.
6. Jesus changed water into wine - they tasted the wine and it was the best wine.
7. Jesus worked this first miracle of His public life at the wedding of Cana.
8. We learn from this about Mary's powerful intercession with Jesus.
9. It is noteworthy that this was at a wedding. Jesus is the bridegroom of our soul.
10. Jesus is love. Jesus came to this earth and took flesh. Jesus is our Savior.
These are the mysteries of light.
A miracle like this shows us great light.
Song: A Song from Jesus
The Kingdom of God
1. We see Jesus at the sermon of the Mount. Envision a very lighted day. Envision the people. Think of how exciting this must have been to be there when Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount.
2. See Jesus, He is in His young thirties. See His garment maybe white gown and a red draped cloak, He is probably sitting and His voice, His teaching is so very perfect.
Jesus is the teacher - the greatest teacher.
3. Think of all the miracles and teachings He gave in His public life. Miracles on the water, when they go fishing and then get so much fish on the starbroad side.
Think of Jesus feeding 5000 from a few loaves and fish - exciting!!!
4. When Jesus taught and performed miracles people were drastically changed.
5. For this is how God loved the world: he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. John 3:16
6. God loved us first.
7. In the Mass we sing the Gloria, the Holy, Holy and the other adoring songs to God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
8. The Church is the Body of Christ - God wants us to be united as one body, to see ourselves with many gifts and talents from God to help build up the Church and the world.
9. Presents are so special when we receive them from those we love. Look at all the gifts God wants to give us - we are to celebrate life, celebrate in Mass, stay united to the Mass as the heavenly Father's family. Light, Light, Light.
10. Jesus is the Light of the world. These are the mysteries of Light - we meditate on those gifts God gives us to help us grow more and more in the image of God. As we grow more and more in that image we help build the Kingdom of God.
God is Light!!!!!
The Transfiguration
1. Jesus took Peter, James and John up Mt. Tabor and appeared to them in the greatest white light. Light, Light, Light.
2. Jesus was in the brightest white light before them.
3. Jesus was in a vision where He was talking to Moses and Elijah, what a sight.
4. Be excited as if you are there and you are seeing Jesus and hearing the Father's voice.
5. The Father says "this is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased, Listen to Him".
6. Jesus is the Light of the world, if we listen to Jesus we will be in that light.
7. These are the mysteries of light, Jesus is the Light of the world.
8. Walk in the light of God, follow Jesus!!!!!
9. Jesus took them down the mountain and He looked like He did before the vision.
10. Fr. Carter always said if we could see our own graced baptized soul we would be in such awe!!!!!
The Institution of the Eucharist
1. Jesus did not want to leave us His beloved souls. Jesus gives us Himself in the Holy Eucharist.
2. Even at the Last Supper Judas was planning the betrayal of Jesus. Judas was in the darkness, but that did not tarnish the light of Jesus.
3. Jesus is the Light of the world.
4. In the Eucharist Jesus is truly present in the Eucharist. Jesus is present in His Divinity and humanity.
5. And Jesus took the bread and He said "This is My Body."
6. And Jesus took the wine and He said "This is My Blood".
7. Jesus wants us to receive Him in the Eucharist, this is the true light.
8. Come Lord Jesus, transform our hearts.
9. Song: I love you Jesus
10. Song: Give me your Heart, Oh Jesus

Guiding Light homily series — Reflect on the Word — Cycle B The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand. $10 |
Guiding Light homily series — Steadfast to the Son — Cycle A The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $10 |
Guiding Light — Focusing on the Word — Cycle B At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $10 |
Guiding Light — Feed My Soul — Cycle C In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $10 |
