October 1, 2015 - St. Therese
From the Priestly Newsletter January/February 1995
9The following words of St. Therese of Lisieux, contained in a letter to one of her sisters, have an obvious connection with the above act of consecration to the Heart of Christ: “I myself find it very easy to practice perfection, for I know that all one has to do is to take Jesus by His Heart. Even if I had on my conscience every sin it is possible to commit, I should fling myself, my heart broken with sorrow, into the arms of Jesus, for I know He loves the prodigal child who returns to Him.”
9. J. Beevers, St. Therese, The Little Flower, The Making of a Saint, Tan Publishers, p. 136.
18Excerpt from Newsletter 1998 - Issue 5
St. Theresa of Lisieux, recently made doctor of the Church by Pope John Paul II, has left us these inspiritng words: "Neither do I desire any longer suffering or death, and still I love them both; it is love alone that attracts me, however. I desired them for a long time; I possesed suffering and believed I had touched the shores of heaven, that the little flower would be gathered in the spring time of her life. Now, abandonment alone guides me. I have no other compass! I can no longer ask for anything with fervor except the accomplishment of God's will in my soul without any creature being able to set obstacles in the way."

end of excerpt from Newsletter 1998 - Issue 5
Jesus: I am Jesus and I am kind and gentle in Heart.
I give you life. I give you your talents to use to
help others, to build My Kingdom.
Who is the man who is pompously proud and
tries to undermine authority to raise himself
up.
Pride is the sin of Eve in the Garden –
Matthew 5: 48
...You must therefore be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect.’
Jesus: I am Jesus, I love the little children with
their pure and simple hearts – God gives you
children to love. I show you this picture.
Jesus: I let you see My tenderness of Heart –
My Father is loving and tender – the Holy Spirit
is the Spirit of love – You cannot even understand
infinite love. I am God, I am All Powerful –
My Movement, Shepherds of Christ, is given to teach men
about God, about My love for them, about
humility and faith and hope and love.
You are to recognize I am the gift giver –
If you are good, it is because of God's grace –
you may cooperate with the grace, but the gift
to be good is given by God who is all good.
The more a man gives into the deadly sins:
pride, lust, anger, jealousy, envy, greed
gluttony – the more he moves away from
God – only God can really make a man happy –
desires of the flesh – pride, anger, lust etc. –
gives only momentary pleasures –
sin drives a soul from Me –
I am meek and tender of heart –
The man of pride wants dominance for
dominance sake, he manipulates,
lies if he needs to – to puff others up
so they will do what he wants –
You are accountable before God and
responsible for your actions –
You are to grow in holiness – the gifts
of baptism raise your knowing and
loving capacity to knowing and loving
on a supernatural level for the man who
cooperates with grace given by God for
them to know and love to be more God-like.
Your love is limited – you need God's
grace to be able to love supernaturally –
the man who lives to be prideful over
his brothers is not growing in love
of God or neighbor.
Your gifts were given to you to use
justly to promote the Kingdom of God – to
bring those gifts to future generations, not
for a man to pride himself how he
is go good – but to give the credit of
his gifts to God.
Tenderness is only known when one
surrenders to the tenderness of My Heart –
a man focused on himself, alone, gets
himself.
I have put people in your life to respect
and work with. God loves you so
much. You do not even understand My
infinite love. I give you these writings
so you will learn about this tender
love of God, so you will know God's
infinite love – So you are truthful
about your imperfections and unloving
actions and grow more and more in
My image and likeness.
Souls likened to Mine – Surrender to
the Father's will – they don't give into
bad habits to challenge authority, hold out
for power, are not focused on creating
negative behaviors to rescue and
be dominant.
Souls likened to Mine are promoting My
Kingdom of love, are working with
others to bring My Message of love
and prayer to the members of the
mystical body of Christ.
Your focus is to serve God, first,
to love God more than your selfish pride –
To pray for the increase of faith, hope and
love and the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
I am the Absolute truth, My love
is never exhausted, My Heart is
an endless furnace of love.
The Holy Spirit brings unity to families,
churches, gatherings in prayer in
prayer groups.
The evil one tempts those who are
prideful to cause division and jealousy
and envy. Love brings happiness –
The Holy Spirit pours love into the surrendering
heart and as one gives themselves
more to God and to Mary, your spiritual
Mother – you are formed more and more
in My image and likeness by the Holy Spirit.
My love is infinite, beyond anything
you can measure. These writings are to
tell you of My love for you. The Shepherds of
Christ is to tell the world about the love of Our
Two Hearts.
I gave the Blue Book Rosaries and when times
are tough they can help your life to be
holy – I give the grace abundantly when
one or many pray these Rosaries from
the Hearts of Jesus and Mary in the Rosary books
and the Blue Books –
If a person is a leader in the Shepherds of Christ they
live by the prayers and the Blue Books –
They recite the rosaries and use the meditations
in the Blue Books Daily and they will soon
know more and more love of the Two Hearts.
You know how I came and showed you,
I lived the Father's will –
a person growing in their image and likeness
to Me is surrendering to the Holy Spirit to help
them know and live the Father's will –
They are not manipulative – holding out –
argumentative against just authority
to get their own will over the Father's will.
I came to do the will of My Father –
I showed you on Calvary, I lived to do My Father's will.
John 6: 38
because I have come from heaven,
not to do my own will,
but to do the will of him who sent me.
In the Garden Jesus said
And going on a little further he fell on his face and prayed. ‘My Father,’ he said, ‘if it is possible, let this cup pass me by. Nevertheless, let it be as you, not I, would have it.’ He came back to the disciples and found them sleeping, and he said to Peter, ‘So you had not the strength to stay awake with me for one hour? Stay awake, and pray not to be put to the test. The spirit is willing enough, but human nature is weak.’
Jesus: I tell you to love the Father's will –
I tell you to seek the Father's will –
I tell you – your life depends on your
living according to the Father's will!
Doing the Father's will brings you
peace and happiness –
I am all good – If you seek to be good
like your Heavenly Father, who is perfect,
your life will be centered in the Father's will.
If you live by the Father's will you will
be loving. God is love!
The love of God and others is not
in the heart of the prideful, egotistical
man – who seeks his own glory first –
ready to sin and be unloving for
dominance for dominance sake –
Look at the saints –
Their desire to love My Father's will and
to do what He wanted of them –
even to martyrdom.

Messenger:
God has blessed us, truly blessed us. He gives
us so many blessings in the every day things
we do.
A mother may be so busy taking care of her
children nursing and loving them, but a mother
or father whose children are grown and gone may
long for ten minutes on a sunny day when
the children cried and just wanted to be held.
There are so many tender moments of holding
a new born baby, but it may demand tremendous
sacrifice on the part of the mom and dad when
the babies are so young. But oh, to look at the movies
of the little baby long after they are gone brings
back memories.
October 1, 2002 message continues
Messenger:
Children may cry, two at a time and demand
so much time and attention, but they go from
little dependent babies to young very independent
adults.
(They grow up in a hurry and many are gone with
very little time for mom and dad.)
There are so many very special gifts Our Lord
gives to us.
Our life may seem very difficult at times, but in
the most difficult times we may have very dear
memories of how God blessed us in the struggle.

We may think we are the only one enduring hard
ship and then at a parish picnic we can go from
one person to another that is experiencing deep
pain and suffering.
I remember all the trips to China with Fr. Carter —
way to China

Messenger:
sometimes there were so many problems
just in running the Movement and
dealing with people and problems and I
discussed everything with him. John and Father
and I worked very closely together making all the
decisions of the Shepherds of Christ.
When Father Carter said — "It is a sunny day",
that whole last year on the rides to China — I never
dreamt those days with him on the way to China
would soon end, but they seemed to end so quickly
for me.
His guidance was always there and he would say
I am not going to be around forever and you and
John are going to be running the Movement.
Our Lord helped the transition very easily to
give us another priest to help us. Jesus picked him
long ago. He told me to ask him to say Mass on
September 15, 2000 for all of us — the Feast of the
Sorrowful Mother. Then September 22, 2000
Fr. Carter found out he only had about 3 months
to live.
When I look back over the times of trial and
struggle I see many blessings God gave me, but
because of my own self I did not enjoy some
of those precious moments as I could have.
How would it be to have 10 minutes on a sunny
day with the one we loved husband, wife, child,
father, mother, close friend who has departed
or with the little children that are now grown
and gone.
I watched a little child today outside the restaurant,
jumpy, full of energy, longing for love of their
mom or dad and I watched an old lady walk so
slow down the steps from the restaurant holding on
like she could hardly move with a cane and
clutching the banister in the other hand.

It was so quiet and so beautiful and I felt I had
been "sucked up" closer to heaven than ever before.
My heart still aches for I long for the gentleness
and wisdom of our most holy founder, but God
has endowed us with very special help and
guidance and after Fr. Carter's death I first saw
Jesus' image on the window — I felt very strongly —
Fr. Carter was helping us in heaven and Jesus
was saying "I am running My Movement."

Ecclesiastes 3: 1-11
Death
There is a season for everything, a time for every occupation under heaven:
A time for giving birth,
a time for dying;
a time for planting,
a time for uprooting what has been planted.
A time for killing,
a time for healing;
a time for knocking down,
a time for building.
A time for tears,
a time for laughter;
a time for mourning,
a time for dancing.
A time for throwing stones away,
a time for gathering them;
a time for embracing,
a time to refrain from embracing.
A time for searching,
a time for losing;
a time for keeping,
a time for discarding.
A time for tearing,
a time for sewing;
a time for keeping silent,
a time for speaking.
A time for loving,
a time for hating;
a time for war,
a time for peace. What do people gain from the efforts they make? I contemplate the task that God gives humanity to labour at. All that he does is apt for its time; but although he has given us an awareness of the passage of time, we can grasp neither the beginning nor the end of what God does.

Here is the quote I love from Cardinal Bernardin
from the Newsletter.
3Excerpt from Priestly Newsletter 1998 - ISSUE FOUR
Shortly before he was to die from cancer, Joseph Cardinal Bernardin left us these inspiring words about peace: "It is the first day of November, and fall is giving way to winter. Soon the trees will lose the vibrant colors of their leaves and snow will cover the ground. The earth will shut down, and people will race to and from their destinations bundled up for warmth. Chicago winters are harsh. It is a time of dying.
"But we know that spring will soon come with all its new life and wonder.
"It is quite clear that I will not be alive in the spring. But I will soon experience new life in a different way...
"What I would like to leave behind is a simple prayer that each of you may find what I have found—God's special gift to us all: the gift of peace. When we are at peace, we find the freedom to be most fully who we are, even in the worst of times. We let go of what is non-essential and embrace what is essential. We empty ourselves so that God may more fully work within us. And we become instruments in the hands of the Lord."
