                Today's Readings

Ephesians 1: 15-23

That is why I, having once heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus, and your love for all God’s holy people, have never failed to thank God for you and to remember you in my prayers. May the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, give you a spirit of wisdom and perception of what is revealed, to bring you to full knowledge of him. May he enlighten the eyes of your mind so that you can see what hope his call holds for you, how rich is the glory of the heritage he offers among his holy people, and how extraordinarily great is the power that he has exercised for us believers; this accords with the strength of his power at work in Christ, the power which he exercised in raising him from the dead and enthroning him at his right hand, in heaven, far above every principality, ruling force, power or sovereignty, or any other name that can be named, not only in this age but also in the age to come. He has put all things under his feet, and made him, as he is above all things, the head of the Church; which is his Body, the fullness of him who is filled, all in all.

Psalm 8: 2-3, 4-5, 6-7

even through the mouths of children, or of babes in arms,
you make him a fortress, firm against your foes,
to subdue the enemy and the rebel.

I look up at your heavens, shaped by your fingers,
at the moon and the stars you set firm—
what are human beings that you spare a thought for them,
or the child of Adam that you care for him?

Yet you have made him little less than a god,
you have crowned him with glory and beauty,
made him lord of the works of your hands,
put all things under his feet,

sheep and cattle, all of them,
and even the wild beasts,

Luke 12: 8-12

'I tell you, if anyone openly declares himself for me in the presence of human beings, the Son of man will declare himself for him in the presence of God's angels. But anyone who disowns me in the presence of human beings will be disowned in the presence of God's angels.

'Everyone who says a word against the Son of man will be forgiven, but no one who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will be forgiven.

'When they take you before synagogues and magistrates and authorities, do not worry about how to defend yourselves or what to say, because when the time comes, the Holy Spirit will teach you what you should say.'

Jesus: I call you to holiness —
I call you to love —
I call you to oneness with the Trinity —

                R. To know the Father, Son and Holy Spirit
dwelling in your graced baptized soul —

To pray united to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the
Sacrifice of Calvary sacramentally made present —
praying to the Father united to the sacrifice of the
Mass, to Jesus in the Mass, in the Holy Spirit through
the intercession of the angels and saints and the
souls in purgatory — through the intercession
                    of Our Lady —

Jesus gives us Himself in the Eucharist —

Jesus tells us in the Blue Books how He intimately
                    wants our love —

Jesus gives us pure love —
Jesus gives us Divine love —

To know that my love union with the Father, Son
and Holy Spirit will grow to more perfected love and
to be wrapped by this love of the Trinity
                    in the Beatific Vision —

                I love imperfectly —

The more I go to the Eucharist — the more I go
to Him in adoration, going to confession
and receive His grace — His love, His
forgiveness — the more I am filled with
His life — The more one I am in Him —
We are so blessed to be free to practice
                    our Catholic faith —
to go to the Eucharist every day —
to have this chapel in China where the Eucharist
                        is exposed

We are so blessed to know the Word as a two
edged sword that penetrates our heart and
soul and gives us greater knowledge of
our beloved Jesus — of God — of the
love of the Persons of the Trinity — of the
love of Father and Son — the oneness
of the Father and Son — the love of God for us —
To know more the interior life of the Trinity —

Excerpt from Response to God's Love by Fr. Edward Carter, S.J.

... In reference to Christianity, God himself is the ultimate mystery. Radically, God is completely other and transcendent, hidden from man in his inner life, unless he chooses to reveal himself. Let us briefly look at this inner life of God.

The Father, in a perfect act of self-expression, in a perfect act of knowing, generates his son. The Son, the Word, is, then, the immanent expression of God's fullness, the reflection of the Father. Likewise, from all eternity, the Father and the Son bring forth the Holy Spirit in a perfect act of loving.

At the destined moment in human history, God's self-expression, the Word, immersed himself into man's world. God's inner self-expression now had also become God's outer self-expression. Consequently, the mystery of God becomes the mystery of Christ. In Christ, God tells us about himself, about his inner life, about his plan of creation and redemption. He tells us how Father, Son, and Holy Spirit desire to dwell within us in the most intimate fashion, how they wish to share with us their own life through grace. All this he has accomplished and does accomplish through Christ.

We carry our crosses and the more we suffer
for Him, the more we identify with Him —

Love is an act of the will —

In loving God, I want to deeply give myself
united to Jesus in the Mass, united to the
Mass, praying to the Father in the Holy Spirit —
through the intercession of the Saints and Angels
and all the souls in purgatory —
through the intercession of the Blessed Mother —
                    loving God
                    praising God
                    petitioning God
and asking God to forgive us for our sins —
so I am closely united to God helping to make
reparation for my sins and the sins of the
                    whole human race —

God is worthy of our love and honor and praise —

We are commanded to love God with our
whole heart, our whole soul, our whole
                    being —
And secondly to love our neighbor as ourselves.

Loving in the Mass is praying for grace for all
our brothers and sisters of this earth — that
they will live as God wants them to be
and to pray they cooperate with this
                    grace given to them —

God choose us to be here now to help build
                    His Kingdom on earth —

Jesus died for the souls on this earth today
                    with us —

Jesus rose to give us a sharing in His
                    life —

Through the pierced Heart of Jesus the
Church was born what came forth
                    from His Heart
                Blood for the Eucharist
                Water for Baptism —

We seek the vision of God
                God is the Creator
                We are the creatures
We seek to know God's Plan for us —

                To live in purity —

To receive the reward of heaven —
one is to constantly open himself more
and more to being in the image and
                        likeness of God —

So if we prepare for the beatific vision —
If we live in greater purity — like the
                        Heart of Jesus —
we can enter into eternal glory —

e) Relationship with Members of the Church

. . .The members of the Church suffering are those who have departed from this life in an incomplete state of Christian development. Their development is incomplete in the sense that grace has not fully taken possession of them, and, as a result, they are yet closed in upon themselves to a greater or lesser degree. They as yet cannot open themselves out in complete love to the Triune God in the beatific vision. They must undergo a further purification, a purification which could have been achieved upon earth with merit. Now the purification must be achieved with no merit attached. The pain of this purification is mixed with the certain expectation of achieving the vision of God. We can hasten the advent of this vision for this people by the offering of prayers and other good works. Scripture itself refers to our action on behalf of those in purgatory in Chapter 12 of the Second Book of Maccabees beginning with verse 38.

                The interior life —

Living more open to the all Perfect Heart
                    of Christ —

Not caved in — living selfishly —

Living with our arms spread wide open —
                    caring for souls —
like Christ who spread His arms on
                    the cross —

Knowing the truth of Christ as found
                    in the Scriptures, the Church,
                    the Commandments —

We are like clay being formed more and
more in the image and likeness of God —

We as baptized Catholics and having
                    made our first communion can
come to the table of the Lord
                    and receive the Eucharist —
Jesus is truly present in His Divinity
and humanity and He gives Himself
                        to us —

Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes
away the sins of the world —
                        We pray for mercy

Mary's Message
from the Rosary of August 27, 1996

Mary:  I stood beneath the cross of my Son, and my Heart was in such pain for I saw Him before my eyes. I saw Him covered with blood. I saw Him die. My Heart, my children, my Heart to watch my Son, but my Heart, my Heart, how I suffered for my little children of the world that give in to this world and give up the love of my Son. O my little children of light, I give you this message. Carry this light into the darkness for your Mother Mary, for I stood beneath the cross and I cried. I cried for the little ones. I cried for the young ones, the ones that do not care and will lose their souls. How do I make you see for you will not listen to me? What can I do? I come. I appear. I beg. I plead. I give you these gifts from my Son, and you reject me. I do not deliver messages very often anymore for I have been ignored. The message is the same. You do not read the messages I have given to you. Please help me. Help the little children. I appear. I appear. I appear, and I am ignored. I stood beneath the cross, and I cried. I cried, and my Heart was in such anguish for my little children, for I am searching for them this day as I searched for the Child Jesus. Please, please help me. I cannot hold back the hand of my Son any longer. I am Mary, your Mother. I ask you to help my children. You are my children of light.

Jesus loves us so much He died for us —
Jesus is the head of the Church
Jesus is the Son of God
Jesus took on flesh for us —
Jesus did this for love of us —

Excerpt from Response in Christ by Fr. Edward Carter, S.J.

e) Relationship with Members of the Church

There is but one true Church of Christ. Yet this one Church has three different states of existence. There is the pilgrim Church, the Church of this world, composed of members who have received the grace of Christ and strive for its development. They have not yet obtained the goal of their efforts, as have the members of the heavenly Church, who enjoy God in eternal happiness. The Church suffering is an intermediate state of existence necessary for those who had not achieved the required purification as members of the pilgrim Church. Although there are these three phases of the Church’s existence, there is a profound union existing between all the members. All these members possess the same basic life of grace in Christ, and this common life establishes the most intimate bonds of love. In our preceding chapter, we discussed the pilgrim Church. Let us now consider the Church suffering and the heavenly Church.

The members of the Church suffering are those who have departed from this life in an incomplete state of Christian development.

The members of the heavenly Church are those in whom the life of grace has taken full possession and has reached its completion in the life of glory. Faith now is unnecessary, as the light of glory gives the human intellect a new strength and capacity for seeing God face-to-face. While the Christian was a wayfarer, he received the imprint of the indwelling Trinity as he shared in God’s own life. Now in heaven that grace-life and possession of God reaches its completion—the absolute completion is not achieved, however, until the resurrection of the body. The divine persons give Themselves to the beatified in a profound union far surpassing that of the indwelling of the Trinity experienced here below.

This life of heaven is still the Christ-life, for just as we possess a share in Trinitarian life here below as mediated by Christ, and exercise this grace-life as structured by Him, so also in heaven is the mediation of Christ present. In the words of Rahner, "One always sees the Father through Jesus. Just as immediately as this, for the directness of the vision of God is not a denial of the mediatorship of Christ as man."14 And not only does the humanity of Christ unite the blessed to God, but also, in some way, to the whole of creation. This is merely a completion of what is begun here below, namely, the union with Christ in His humanity establishing the Christian in a special relationship with God, with other men, and with the whole of creation. We have a glimpse, therefore, of the fullness of life which members of the heavenly Church possess.

The heavenly Church, as St. Thomas says, is the true Church.15 The Church of this earth and the Church of purgatory are, each in its own way, reaching out in loving hope for the heavenly Jerusalem. Vatican II puts it very simply: "The Church, to which we are called in Christ Jesus, and in which we acquire sanctity through the grace of God, will attain her full perfection only in the glory of heaven."16

The members of the heavenly Church can help us in living our life of grace until we too share its fullness with them. Their power of intercession on our behalf is but another ramification of the communal aspect of Christianity. We are meant to help others grow in Christ. We, in turn, are intended by God to receive aid from others—yes, from members of the heavenly Church, as well as from those with whom we dwell here below.

Not only can we be aided by the saints’ intercession, but the example of the canonized saints can also be of great value to us. They have concretely proved that full holiness is possible. Such an inspiration is of real worth when we are tempted to think that Christian sanctity in its higher degrees is impossible of attainment. Moreover, the canonized saints, in their diversity, teach us that there are many authentic versions of Christian holiness. They can be innovators in showing us that there are numerous possibilities in assimilating the mystery of Christ, although the basic assimilation remains the same for all Christians of all times. In the opinion of Rahner this is one of the chief roles the canonized saints exert in the life of the Church.17

                We belong to Jesus —
                We love Jesus —

We as Christians are to be more and more
                    likened to Jesus —

More and more perfect likened to our
                    Heavenly Father —

Our oneness with Jesus in our love
for Him is to prepare us for
                    heaven —

Matthew 22: 36-40

'Master, which is the greatest commandment of the Law?' Jesus said to him, 'You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second resembles it: You must love your neighbour as yourself. On these two commandments hang the whole Law, and the Prophets too.'

We choose what Jesus wants —
We choose His way — not the ways of the world
We have a free will —

                Sing: Choose Life —

Deuteronomy 30: 15-20

‘Look, today I am offering you life and prosperity, death and disaster. If you obey the commandments of Yahweh your God, which I am laying down for you today, if you love Yahweh your God and follow his ways, if you keep his commandments, his laws and his customs, you will live and grow numerous, and Yahweh your God will bless you in the country which you are about to enter and make your own. But if your heart turns away, if you refuse to listen, if you let yourself be drawn into worshipping other gods and serving them, I tell you today, you will most certainly perish; you will not live for long in the country which you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess. Today, I call heaven and earth to witness against you: I am offering you life or death, blessing or curse. Choose life, then, so that you and your descendants may live, in the love of Yahweh your God, obeying his voice, holding fast to him; for in this your life consists, and on this depends the length of time that you stay in the country which Yahweh swore to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that he would give them.’

Prayer for Union with Jesus

Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.

I am Yours to possess. I am Yours to use. I want to be selfless and only exist in You. Help me to spoon out all that is me and be an empty vessel ready to be filled by You. Help me to die to myself and live only for You. Use me as You will. Let me never draw my attention back to myself. I only want to operate as You do, dwelling within me.

I am Yours, Lord. I want to have my life in You. I want to do the will of the Father. Give me the strength to put aside the world and let You operate my very being. Help me to act as You desire. Strengthen me against the distractions of the devil to take me from Your work.

When I worry, I have taken my focus off of You and placed it on myself. Help me not to give in to the promptings of others to change what in my heart You are making very clear to me. I worship You, I adore You and I love You. Come and dwell in me now.

-God's Blue Book, January 17, 1994

A Prayer for Intimacy with the Lamb, the Bridegroom of the Soul

Oh Lamb of God, Who take away the sins of the world, come and act on my soul most intimately. I surrender myself, as I ask for the grace to let go, to just be as I exist in You and You act most intimately on my soul. You are the Initiator. I am the soul waiting Your favors as You act in me. I love You. I adore You. I worship You. Come and possess my soul with Your Divine Grace, as I experience You most intimately.

Jesus I want to be so one with You —

With all I do all day — I want to unite to the
Trinity dwelling in me — in my graced
                    baptized soul —
I want to be one with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit —

We live our vocation in this oneness with God —
God calls us to our vocation —
As we live in oneness all day — everything
we do in our vocation is to be
in seeking God's will in love —
Doing exactly as God wants —

We pray our Morning Offering — because as a
member of the mystical body of Christ
we are united to all the Masses going
                    on around the world —

We want to help bring down great grace
in our vocation for the people of
                    this earth —

We want to love God ever more and more

A Prayer before the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass

Let me be a holy sacrifice and unite with God in the sacrament of His greatest love.

I want to be one in Him in this act of love, where He gives Himself to me and I give myself as a sacrifice to Him. Let me be a holy sacrifice as I become one with Him in this my act of greatest love to Him.

Let me unite with Him more, that I may more deeply love Him. May I help make reparation to His adorable Heart and the heart of His Mother, Mary. With greatest love, I offer myself to You and pray that You will accept my sacrifice of greatest love. I give myself to You and unite in Your gift of Yourself to me. Come and possess my soul.

Cleanse me, strengthen me, heal me. Dear Holy Spirit act in the heart of Mary to make me more and more like Jesus.

Father, I offer this my sacrifice, myself united to Jesus in the Holy Spirit to You. Help me to love God more deeply in this act of my greatest love.

Give me the grace to grow in my knowledge, love and service of You and for this to be my greatest participation in the Mass. Give me the greatest graces to love You so deeply in this Mass, You who are so worthy of my love.

-Mass Book, December 27, 1995

Psalm 40: 6-8

You wanted no sacrifice or cereal offering,
but you gave me an open ear,
you did not ask for burnt offering or sacrifice for sin;
then I said, 'Here I am, I am coming.'

In the scroll of the book it is written of me,
    my delight is to do your will;
your law, my God,
    is deep in my heart.

We have been called to offer up our lives
to help bring down grace for the souls
on this earth — for our own soul

                To be likened to Christ

Not to argue with those over us —
                    but to obey them

We pray to the Holy Spirit to give us deeper insight
into the mystery of God —

                Sing: Veni Sanctus Spiritus

                God wants our humility —

                To not be vain

To seek the truth about the evil and good
                    in us —
to seek a pure heart —
to prepare ourselves to be greater one
with God who is all holy —
the more we grow in holiness
the deeper we can be one with God —
We give ourselves to God so we do what
He wants with our lives —

When we suffer — we can realize how we
                    are dependent on Him —

God always worked through barren women and then
                    they conceived —

We know when something seems almost impossible
and it happens after we pray that God did it —

God gives us the crucifix to hold to look at —

God did not say we would not struggle —

He gave some the stigmata —

He lets some suffer tremendous mental sufferings
from those acting against God —

Does it scare you to watch someone die?

We are here to learn to grow more and more like
                    Jesus —

Whether we do any way of life —
                    We will have suffering —

The devil presses down when something is
hard and tries to get us to give up our
                    vocation —
                    or disobey —
                    or act sinfully —

We are to be more and more like Jesus —
Jesus was obedient to His death —

Nothing in this world will get better unless
people turn to God and God has called us
to grow in greater holiness ourselves —
praying for the souls of the earth while we
                    live —
praying for the priests, the Church and the
                    world —

                Jesus is with us

He is in the Holy Eucharist in the tabernacles
                    all over the world —
truly present in His Divinity and humanity —

We must seek out the imperfections in our
behavior and grow to be more perfect if
we want to be close to Christ

We grow in intimacy and deep love with Jesus —

We do not want to offend Him by sinning
                    against our brother

We seek to do His will in all things —
We want to be obedient —
We are teaching ourselves for heaven —

We want the simplicity of purely saying
"yes" to God's will — for this
                    becomes our delight —

We know happiness comes in only serving
God and doing God's will and

We seek to do it with all our hearts
for not persons, superiors over us,
but we do it for Jesus —

We are chaste because we commit ourselves
to God — to be pure as God desires —
We are the bride of Christ —
We do it to be married to God —
Not so others will think good of us —

Our moral choice is — because
we want only to do what is
                    right —

If we offend God we are immediately
                    sorry —

We surrender to God and His will for us —
We give ourselves to God —

We are growing in our love relationship
                    with God —
                    Father, Son and Holy Spirit
                    this delights us —
                    this consumes our heart —
LOVE OF GOD: FATHER, SON AND HOLY SPIRIT

We are children of the Father —
learning to be more deeply in love
                        with our vocation and
                        His will for us —

The devil is an enemy who wants to
                    take people to hell —

God wants us to build His Kingdom
                    to be obedient —

The devil is chaos, confusion, commotion,
                    hatred, selfishness —

We are at war with the devil —

We must love God so as we are
                    strengthened in virtue we
choose good and not evil —

Our life here is a journey —
We decide what we will choose —

                The devil comes knocking —
                He does not give up

He hates people leading souls to the love
                    of God —

                He wants them stopped

                The devil is relentless —
The devil is a liar —

The devil uses games and secrets to manipulate —
The devil is darkness and it keeps getting
darker if we give into him —

God wants us to offer up our trials in loving
others to build His Kingdom, but
                    superiors don't condone evil —

                The devil comes knocking —

Jesus calls and we can respond in purity to God —
in love according to His will —

The devil tries to trick a person — to take
them home with him to hell —
to use them as instruments to try to make
those doing God's work to fail —
they can be driven to punish the good —
they can be driven to try to win over the good —
they can try to tear up what good people have
                        built —

Mary said her children were dropping into
                    hell like rain —

We must be pure, not vain —

Truly wanting to save our soul and
Loving others, even our enemies, so they
                    save theirs —

                Pray for our enemies

Pray to build the Kingdom of God

Even in the midst of hate — to love and
pray for the evil men —
                    like Christ did for those
who put Him to death —

Today with abortion it is the killing of the
innocent babies in the womb —

Little children were shot and persecuted
                    by the Hitler Regime especially
                    if they were Jews —

We see that the innocent were put to
                    death — persecuted —

Jesus was hung naked on the cross

Jesus, the Son of God, killed by His enemies
so we could have life —

                Life is in Him —

Do not waste this precious gift —

                Help me —

                Live your vocation —
united to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass —
praying to the Father as I began this
                    message —

Life goes on in petty pace —

We are called to be holy

Words of Jesus to Members of
Shepherds of Christ Associates:

"My beloved priest-companion, I intend to use the priestly newsletter, Shepherds of Christ, and the movement, Shepherds of Christ Associates, in a powerful way for the renewal of My Church and the world.

"I will use the newsletter and the chapters of Shepherds of Christ Associates as a powerful instrument for spreading devotion to My Heart and My Mother's Heart.

"I am calling many to become members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. To all of them I will give great blessings. I will use them as instruments to help bring about the triumph of the Immaculate Heart and the reign of My Sacred Heart. I will give great graces to the members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. I will call them to be deeply united to My Heart and to Mary's Heart as I lead them ever closer to My Father in the Holy Spirit."

- Message from Jesus to Father Edward J. Carter, S.J., Founder, as given on July 31, 1994,
feast of Saint Ignatius Loyola, Founder of the Society of Jesus (The Jesuits)

                We see the saints

                We see their lives —

God wants us to be deeply united to them
                    and pray through their powerful
                    intercession
