Prayer for Grace for our Country
Dear Father united to Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Sacrifice of Calvary sacramentally made present, celebrated around the world, in the Holy Spirit. We offer up all we do united to the Mass. We unite in one mind and one heart as members of the mystical body of Christ, with Christ our head in the pure and holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary, through the powerful intercession of Mary with all the angels and saints and souls in purgatory, and we beg for the saving grace, for our country, the United States. Please help us. We further pray for unity to always do the will of God in love. We spread the Blood of Jesus on the leaders and people of the United States and cast the devil into hell. We consecrate our country to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and all our dioceses, and beg for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God help us. We pray for our families, the priests, the Church and the world. In the Name of Jesus please hear us, we pray. We pray for our president and leaders. We pray that we are united as one nation under God to work together in love as God wants.

R. Father Carter always told me to live doing God's will in love.
From The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, by Louis J. Puhl, S.J. p.12
23. FIRST PRINCIPLE AND FOUNDATION
Man is created to praise, reverence and serve God
our Lord, and by this means to save his soul.
R. Does it matter if God calls us to carry a boulder or a pebble?
Our attitude is to live according to God's will asking the Holy Spirit to help us to know that.
We need to do God's will.
To help us know the truth:
1) The Word
2) The Commandments
3) The ChurchWe want God's will.
We want to do what God wants us to do.Fr. Carter helped me to see what God wanted.
I received a message in the China Church to call Felix and ask him to carve a crucifix, a very large one in Clearwater.
I really didn't know Felix.
I told Fr. Carter after Mass in the China Church.
I got to the sacristy door and I was afraid, I told Fr. Carter maybe we shouldn't move ahead.
Fr. Carter told me "Get Behind me satan".
Today and for 18 years there has been a big crucifix close to where Mary's image was.
Jesus promised special graces to those who prayed under it.
Jesus told us to circulate pictures of it to meditate on.
Satan wants to stop whatever it is God wants.
For many years I had Fr. Carter to help me.
Every year he was my director in a Spiritual Exercise retreat.
Later another Jesuit gave me a lot of instruction on the Spiritual Exercises and we went to Rome and saw some artifacts from St. Ignatius' time.I have been given very many rosaries from the Hearts of Jesus and Mary
in Blue Book 6A, 6B, and 6C.
I received a rosary daily at the old seminary "Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Center".Mary appeared daily and Jesus very many times.
The rosaries were very inspirational and Jesus promised special graces to those who pray them from the Blue Book 6A, B, and C.
Here is a quote from Fr. Carter's Priestly Newsletter 2000, #3.
Shepherds of Christ Priestly Newsletter 2000 Issue 3
The Father's Will for Us - Our Source of Peace
Pope John Paul II instructs us: "The Church, as a reconciled and reconciling community, cannot forget that at the source of her gift and mission of reconciliation is the initiative, full of compassionate love and mercy, of that God who is love (see 1 John 4:8) and who out of love created human beings (see Wisdom 11:23-26; Genesis 1:27: Psalms 8:4-8)…He created them so that they might live in friendship with Him and in communion with one another.
"God is faithful to His eternal plan even when man, under the impulse of the evil one (see Wisdom 2:24) and carried away by his own pride, abuses the freedom given to him in order to love and generously seek what is good, and (instead) refuses to obey his Lord and Father. God is faithful even when man, instead of responding with love to God’s love, opposes Him and treats Him like a rival, deluding himself and relying on his own power, with the resulting break of relationship with the One who created him. In spite of this transgression on man’s part, God remains faithful in love.
"It is certainly true that the story of the Garden of Eden makes us think about the tragic consequences of rejecting the Father, which becomes evident in man’s inner disorder and in the breakdown of harmony between man and woman, brother and brother (see Genesis 3:12 ff; 4:1-16). Also significant is the Gospel parable of the two brothers (the parable of the ‘prodigal son’; see Luke 15:11-32) who, in different ways, distance themselves from their father and cause a rift between them. Refusal of God’s fatherly love and of His loving gifts is always at the root of humanity’s divisions.
"But we know that God…like the father in the parable (of the prodigal son), does not close His heart to any of His children. He waits for them, looks for them, goes to meet them at the place where the refusal of communion imprisons them in isolation and division. He calls them to gather about His table in the joy of the feast of forgiveness and reconciliation.
"This initiative on God’s part is made concrete and manifest in the redemptive act of Christ, which radiates through the world by means of the ministry of the Church." 13
13. Pope John Paul II, as in Celebrate 2000!, Servant Publications, pp. 140-141.
R. Pope John Paul II talks about Adam and Even and their rebellion in the Garden.
I see so much problems in this today where the weakness to pride, where the person puts themselves at the center and puts themselves as the ruler, begins a downward slope away from the first commandment.
It is a beautiful prayer
Jesus gave us January 17, 1994.
Fr. Carter kept this next to his heart and prayed it all day.
(this was Fr. Carter's favorite Sacred Heart picture, it reminded him of his Jesuit seminary, so we used it with the prayer Manual Prayers, Jesus told us to pray)
Prayer for Union with Jesus
Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.
I am Yours to possess. I am Yours to use. I want to be selfless and only exist in You. Help me to spoon out all that is me and be an empty vessel ready to be filled by You. Help me to die to myself and live only for You. Use me as You will. Let me never draw my attention back to myself. I only want to operate as You do, dwelling within me.
I am Yours, Lord. I want to have my life in You. I want to do the will of the Father. Give me the strength to put aside the world and let You operate my very being. Help me to act as You desire. Strengthen me against the distractions of the devil to take me from Your work.
When I worry, I have taken my focus off of You and placed it on myself. Help me not to give in to the promptings of others to change what in my heart You are making very clear to me. I worship You, I adore You and I love You. Come and dwell in me now.
-God's Blue Book, January 17, 1994
R. We have a free
will to put God first like the first commandment:
1. I, the Lord, am your God. You
shall not have other gods besides me.
Or to put ourselves and our rule before God.
I remember the Israelites and the Egyptians that held them captive.
Moses said God said "Let my people go."
Satan deceives people to try to get them to think they are in control, when they put themselves selfishly first before God.
Satan always wants to
rule.
Then like Eve in the Garden he got away with tempting Eve to put herself
before God and she disobeyed God and talked Adam into disobeying God.
Life is like this:
We can put God first and obey God, the commandments, and obey the
Church.
Or we can challenge these
gifts God gives us to know the truth and put ourselves before God.
Satan wants us to disobey God and he can tempt the soul and they give in.
Satan isn't done there, He likes to parade around before others that he got away with it.
Satan is a liar.
He doesn't want a spiritual director, priest, parent to unveil what he
has done in evil pursuits, so he is obnoxious to get away with lies and
abuse to keep it intact to use again.
Satan tempts in the same patterned behaviors over and over again with different people to get them to put satan's way before God's will in their actions, thus fall into sin, sometimes repeatedly, over and over again as they serve satan.
St. Ignatius has very good discernment of spirits - to see if the directions we are getting are from the evil one, ourselves, or the Holy Spirit.
We want God's grace to
help us make choices that are God's will.
We pray to the Holy Spirit.
R. What is God's will for us?
4 days before his death
From The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius,

Which have as their purpose the conquest of self
and the regulation of one's life in such a way that
no decision is made under the influence of any
inordinate attachment
R. Here is a message Fr. Carter received July 31, 1994.
July 31, 1994
Words of Jesus to Members of Shepherds of Christ Associates:
"My beloved priest-companion, I intend to use the priestly newsletter, Shepherds of Christ, and the movement, Shepherds of Christ Associates, in a powerful way for the renewal of My Church and the world.
"I will use the newsletter and the chapters of Shepherds of Christ Associates as a powerful instrument for spreading devotion to My Heart and My Mother's Heart.
"I am calling many to become members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. To all of them I will give great blessings. I will use them as instruments to help bring about the triumph of the Immaculate Heart and the reign of My Sacred Heart. I will give great graces to the members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. I will call them to be deeply united to My Heart and to Mary's Heart as I lead them ever closer to My Father in the Holy Spirit."
- Message from Jesus to Father Edward J. Carter, S.J., Founder, as given on July 31, 1994,
feast of Saint Ignatius Loyola, Founder of the Society of Jesus (The Jesuits)

R. The Holy Spirit wants us to have a very close intimate
relationship with Him to make the right choices.
Excerpt of The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, by Louis J. Puhl, S.J. pp.60-61
136. THE FOURTH DAY
A MEDITATION ON TWO STANDARDS
The one of Christ, our supreme leader and lord,
the other of Lucifer, the deadly enemy of our
human naturePRAYER. The usual preparatory prayer.
window at a former Jesuit Seminary
137. FIRST PRELUDE. This is the history. Here it will be that Christ calls and wants all beneath His standard, and Lucifer, on the other hand, wants all under his.
138. SECOND PRELUDE. This is a mental representation of the place. It will be here to see a great plain, comprising the whole region about Jerusalem, where the sovereign Commander-in-Chief of all the good is Christ our Lord; and another plain about the region of Babylon, where the chief of the enemy is Lucifer.
139. THIRD PRELUDE. This is to ask for what I desire. Here it will be to ask for a knowledge of the deceits of the rebel chief and help to guard myself against them; and also to ask for a knowledge of the true life exemplified in the sovereign and true Commander, and the grace to imitate Him.
FIRST PART
THE STANDARD OF SATAN
140. FIRST POINT. Imagine you see the chief of all the enemy in the vast plain about Babylon, seated on a great throne of fire and smoke, his appearance inspiring horror and terror.
141. SECOND POINT. Consider how he summons innumerable demons, and scatters them, some to one city and some to another, throughout the whole world, so that no province, no place, no state of life, no individual is overlooked.
142. THIRD POINT. Consider the address he makes to them, how he goads them on to lay snares for men and bind them with chains. First they are to tempt them to covet riches (as Satan himself is accustomed to do in most cases) that they may the more easily attain the empty honors of this world, and then come to overweening pride.
The first step, then, will be riches, the second honor, the third pride. From these three steps the evil one leads to all other vices.
SECOND PART
THE STANDARD OF CHRIST
143. In a similar way, we are to picture to ourselves the sovereign and true Commander, Christ our Lord.
144. FIRST POINT. Consider Christ our Lord, standing in a lowly place in a great plain about the region of Jerusalem, His appearance beautiful and attractive.
145. SECOND POINT. Consider how the Lord of all the world chooses so many persons, apostles, disciples, etc., and sends them throughout the whole world to spread His sacred doctrine among all men, no matter what their state or condition.
146. THIRD POINT. . . . end of excerpt of The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius
R. Who rules?
A person furthering the case of Christ is working for the honor and glory of God and doing the will of God.
A person going more and more into manipulation and selfish pride is helping satan to rule.
Satan wants to discredit
authority and thus leave disorder.
Satan wants to rule, be on top.
St. Ignatius says don't act in desolation.
St. Ignatius' discernment of spirits is fantastic and helps us in the spiritual life.
Fr. Carter was my Spiritual Director.
The Spiritual Director helps us to stay in the Light and to live God's will.
Going to the Eucharist
helps us to discern the spirits.
Going to daily Mass.
Doing Adoration.
We read the Word of God.
The scriptures are a part of our daily life.
Baptism gives us a sharing in God's life.
The Bread of life feeds that life.
The Bread of life is the Word and the Eucharist.
We need to listen to God and to pray.
We need to have silence.
Jesus showed us He went away to be with His Father.
We need to have an deep
interior life with God.
“Nothing is more practical than finding God, that is, than falling in a love in a quite absolute, final way. What you are in love with, what seizes your imagination will affect everything. It will decide what will get you out of bed in the mornings, what you will do with your evenings, how you spend your weekends, what you read, who you know, what breaks your heart, and what amazes you with joy and gratitude. Fall in love, stay in love, and it will decide everything.”
Pedro Arrupe
R. Open up the Blue books and meditate on what is said.
Write what that means in a letter to Jesus.
Fr. Carter always did an examine 2 times a day.
He stopped for 10 minutes to take his spiritual temperature.
Asking oneself, if we are
doing God's will.
If we aren't, pray for grace to get back on track.
Fr. Carter would put his hands, palms up and close his eyes and do his examine.
The opposite of pride is
humility.
Humility is truth.
I will be with you that is My promise,Excerpt from God's Pre-Blue Book
Jesus:
R.
Stay with me and be my God.Jesus I give You my will and my life, I give
You my life, please be with me dear Jesus –
my strength and courage is the Lord. Thank
You for helping me with that lady.
Please Jesus I leave it up to You. Please
Jesus talk to me in this book –
Sing: Take Lord Receive
Song: I Am a God of
Justice
R. Jesus showed us how Peter sometimes was doing his own
thing.
How many today are living in humility?
How many are living in pride?
Jesus washed the feet of His Apostles.
So many never will admit they are wrong and will never say they are sorry, but live to always be on the "top" above.
Jesus died for us.
Christian mean we are like Christ.
When we put ourselves before Jesus we are not like Jesus.
Jesus showed us how He did His Father's will to His death on the cross.
"Thy will be done, God."
Humility looks to God.
Pride says we did it and ignores the gifts God gives us.
The prideful man just grows more and more selfishly.
With humility we are
grateful to God for His gifts to us.
With Pride we want people to see we did it all ourselves.
Hell is full of prideful people who never admit they ever sinned, ruled by pride.
Hell is full of people who see themselves as always right.
We are to give and to receive.
It's pride when a person, won't accept nothing from anyone else.
They always want to be on the top, in control.
What we do to others we do to Jesus.
Peter was sorry when he sinned.
Peter recognized his faults and was sorry.
If we are loving, if we are humble, it is because of God's grace.
Definition of love of Fr.
Carter.
Love is giving to the others for the good of the other.
We should want to be all Jesus wants us to be.
If we call ourselves Christians we should put our focus on this.
We were created in the image and likeness of Jesus.
At the Baptism of Jesus, the sky was thrown open and the voice of the Father is heard "this is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased".
At the Transfiguration, the voice of the Father was heard, "this is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased, Listen to Him."
The truth will make you free.
Humility makes you free.
A humble man admits his
faults and says he is sorry.
The humble man tells God thank You for all your gifts.
The reality is God gives
us life.
God gives us grace.
God is good to us.
Jesus gives us His Heart
of burning love.
Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.
R. We need to live in reality and see all the gifts God
has given to us. We cannot give into negative victimizing thinking.
Happiness comes in God.
Some people blame others for their unhappiness, while they fill
themselves with negativity and deny God.
God created us so that we only have real happiness in Him.
God is the Divine Healer.
We begin to heal when we go to Him and ask for His gifts to heal and beg
for His grace, we need most, to see as God wants us to see.
God calls us to spread the Good News.
God calls us to live the
Gospel and be a witness before others as we walk humbly and serve God
and help build His Kingdom.
R. Happiness is found in living God's will in love.
The attitude to surrender to what God wants of us,
to put God first in all things.
And in heaven, the angels
sing and give Glory to God.
Live in this reality: God created us and wants us with Him forever in
heaven.
We live here to please God and do what He created us to do, not rebel
against God's will.
We see the demons in the
scriptures. We see Jesus drove out demons.
We must realize there is a battle going on here. The devil is real and
he wants our soul.
Faith, Hope and Love: - in Baptism we receive the supernatural virtues
of Faith, Hope and Love.
God created us body and soul. We need to live in the present moment, to build a relationship with our Heavenly Father, to build up the Kingdom of God.
We have a duty.
God called us to this.
We need to live and do what we need to, to grow in the image and
likeness of God. God created us to love to do the Heavenly Father's
will.
In the Shepherds of Christ God is teaching us what we need to know to
prepare for heaven.
Prayer is love. We live our lives praying for the priests, the Church
and the world.
We pray for families and
unity!!
We give our lives in the Shepherds of Christ to pray for the priests,
the Church and the world and to spread the writings Jesus has given us.
Use Your Talents
October 3, 1993 Chicago Marian Conference 11:30a.m.
Jesus: I am your Savior, Son of the Living God. I come to you that you might have life, not as the world gives you life, but My life which is life eternal. I carved you from My special carving and made you little less than an angel. I love you and cherish all the moments when you, My special child, come to sit with Me. I wait here and I hope you will choose to come, but I never force you. Your will is totally free and I give it to you because of My love and the will of the Father. I inform you in numerous ways. You do not have to guess and wonder. Come be with Me in this silence and all you need to know will be told to you. Your life is unfolding as a beautiful rose. Each petal falls and you plant My odors about as I so desire. I make your life full and sure as you trust in Me. No need for worrying, My little flower. My ways give you freedom if you listen to your heart. I am a personal God and you know Me as giving you fullness and life. You know there is some magnetism to Me and the way you crave to be part of Me. This is the work of the one, true God Who created you with a thirst that can only be quenched by Me. All roads that lead to Me give you fullness, worth, peace and joy, not as the world thinks, but as you yourself know true peace and joy. When I really touch you, you do not remain the same. I shed My Blood for you that you will have the life only I can give. What friend in this world would die for you? You, My child, were worth My dying for. I came that you will have life eternal and the gift I give is My Precious Blood for your sins. Come to Me in trouble and when you are bowed down. Come to Me in joy. Come to Me every day that you live and I will give you all you need. Seek to know Me more and more. Knowledge of Me, being with Me, are the only way to perfect peace. They lead to eternal life.
I have a divine plan for you. I created you with special gifts and talents to be used to do My work. They are not for your own self-promotion. You, My child, are nothing except as I created you. Why try to promote yourself? It is none of your own doing. I gave you the talents you are using. You had nothing to do with it. These talents were given to you to do My work. To use these talents to make yourself feel better than your brother is indeed a sin. You must realize they are loaned to you to work for Me. As you give someone a car, or loan them a place to stay, I loan you your talents to use to work for Me. If you do not work for Me and use them to make yourself better than your brother, you are offending Me. Likewise, if I give you talents and you do not use them because you think you are not as good as your brother, you are not being thankful to Me for My gifts to you. You are not using My gifts and that offends Me greatly. Each person was created by Me to do My work. Each person has all he needs to do My work. To be envious of others is fruitless. They have their job. You have yours. You are not supposed to do their work. That is why you were not given their talents.
Do your own work. Don't be envious of your brothers. Don't hide your talents. You did not earn them. I gave you your talents. You must sing because I will it. Others must do as I will them to do. It displeases Me to give you a gift and watch you hide it and make light of it. I give the gift. You must use all your gifts. They were given to you to do My work. Your brother has his gifts. Be grateful for your brother and he should be for you. You are all chosen by Me for a special mission. You know what to do. It feels right. I plant little seeds in your heart and all you do that is for you in the end feels right. You are not to be doing your brother's work or he yours. Talk to Me that you might know just what your work is and do it.
Do not hide your talents. Praise your God Who gave you these talents. Embrace and use them. This is not pride. This is My plan. I love you. I give to each of you, My precious children, as a mother who buys special Christmas gifts for each child. To buy gifts all the same for all your children is not to respect their specialness, their individuality.
Oh, I love you, little ones, so much. Please come to Me. I am so good and I wait to be with you and share My love with you. Come now. This is your top priority. All else will work when you come to Me first. I love you. You are My chosen children. Come and be filled and I make your loads light and I fill you with the Spirit of Salvation.
All roads that lead to Me are the right roads. Praise Me for I am good and I love you, little dear ones. end of excerpt

Guiding Light homily series — Reflect on the Word — Cycle B The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand. $10 |
Guiding Light homily series — Steadfast to the Son — Cycle A The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $10 |
Guiding Light — Focusing on the Word — Cycle B At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $10 |
Guiding Light — Feed My Soul — Cycle C In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $10 |
