Why do good people suffer?
Job 19: 21-27
Pity me, pity me, my friends,
since I have been struck by the hand of God.
Must you persecute me just as God does,
and give my body no peace? Will no one let my words be recorded,
inscribed on some monument
with iron chisel and engraving tool,
cut into the rock for ever?
I know that I have a living Defender
and that he will rise up last, on the dust of the earth.
After my awakening, he will set me close to him,
and from my flesh I shall look on God.
He whom I shall see will take my part:
my eyes will be gazing on no stranger.
My heart sinks within me.
If we suffer that does not mean we sinned.
Job says:
Have pity on me.
Nobody supports me.
In all his sufferings he never lost faith
in God.
My inmost being is concerned with longing
for God.
Psalm 27: 7-9, 13-14
Yahweh, hear my voice as I cry,
pity me, answer me!
Of you my heart has said,
‘Seek his face!’
Your face, Yahweh, I seek;
do not turn away from me.Do not thrust aside your servant in anger,
without you I am helpless.
Never leave me, never forsake me,
God, my Saviour. This I believe: I shall see the goodness of Yahweh,
in the land of the living.
Put your hope in Yahweh, be strong, let your heart be bold,
put your hope in Yahweh.
Psalm 103: 20
Bless Yahweh, all his angels,
mighty warriors who fulfil his commands,
attentive to the sound of his words.
Matthew 18: 1-5, 10
At this time the disciples came to Jesus and said, ‘Who is the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven?’ So he called a little child to him whom he set among them. Then he said, ‘In truth I tell you, unless you change and become like little children you will never enter the kingdom of Heaven. And so, the one who makes himself as little as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven.
‘Anyone who welcomes one little child like this in my name welcomes me.
‘See that you never despise any of these little ones, for I tell you that their angels in heaven are continually in the presence of my Father in heaven.
Why do good people suffer?
The Jews thought
If a person did good they would be rewarded—
If you were suffering, the Jews thought,
you were sinning — WRONG
Job says
Pity me!!
Job had not done things wrong!!
They never paid any attention to Job —
They went on about Job, suffering —
they wouldn't listen —
Job did not do wrong —
Feast of Guardian Angels —
Trying to figure out who is most important —
they don't understand what the kingdom
is all about —
We are not in this world to exult ourselves
over others, but to see our dependency
on Our Father —
The Gospel has about the little children
We need an angel too —
Pope John Paul II says our angel cares about
our well being
God looks out for us in infinite ways
we are not even aware of —
Heavenly Father You asked angels to be our
guides — help us God — watch over us, we pray.
We thank You God for all Your gifts to us —
Bless us God —
We give You our lives united to the Mass —
Father — united to the sacrifice of Jesus —
in the Holy Spirit we offer our lives to You —
united to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass
going on around the world —
with all the angels and saints and the souls
in purgatory —
God our lives are an offering
God we love You so much —
Oh Father, our heavenly Father, we give our
lives to You for Your honor and glory —
God we love You
Live in the Moment
Expect the best —
Thank God
Love God and others
Holy Spirit fill us
Our Father
Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. * Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Peace God — Help us to have Peace — Holy Spirit
fill us so our hearts are loving and focused
on You —
Give us peace
Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, Have mercy on us.
Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, Have mercy on us.
Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, Grant us peace.
Have pity on me God —
Let Your wrath not rage against us.
Be merciful, Oh God, for we have sinned —
In the night a man cannot see
The more we walk by the darkness — the
more we stumble and fall,
But if we walk by His Light we can see.
Let your lives be lived by walking in
the Light of the Lord.
Do not hide your light —
Let the world — praise your heavenly Father and
see His good works in you
Don't give into self pity —
Jesus is meek and tender of Heart —
We are to grow in that image and likeness of Jesus —
Take on His loving Heart —
A man of combat is not likened to the meek
Heart of Jesus — ready to lunge so he can
seek dominance — even over the old
ladies
could you see Jesus do that?
Jesus: Don't knock down people to do the work of
satan and then say I'm good —
come follow me
R. Walk in the Light of the Lord —
Let His life live in you
Be a light to others — not focused on yourself —
so weak — your god has become —
winning over all —
so weak — you must win
so weak — focusing on your face and how you
look to others
Look at the face of Jesus on the cross —
He died for our sins
pride,
anger
seeking dominance,
lies, lust, —
Jesus:
say to Me — I am good and hate your brother
I see through you
You hide not your hatred in your heart
Hearts of Stone
The mission of the Shepherds of Christ is to promote
My Sacred Heart of love —
My Heart
My Heart is a Heart of love.
I died on the cross for the sinners —
I know your sins —
You are to repent and do the Father's will in
love —
Forgiving and letting go of people who hurt you —
When a person loves — they give love to please
the Heavenly Father — a person giving
to please themselves, for their honor and
glory is not loving —
Weak men — seek glory for themselves from other
men
Weak men - who are strong in Me — seek glory
for their heavenly Father —
Women were made physically weaker
Woman was taken from the side of man - to
be respected and loved —
My Church was taken from My pierced side —
Mary is My Mother
Mary is Mother of the Church
Men are not superior to women
Men who were taught men rule and women are under
were taught incorrectly.
I want My Mother's Heart venerated next to Mine —
I came in the world in a woman
Little boys who learned from dad - mom is
to be a servant as dad ruled learned
incorrectly
Woman was taken from the side of man to be
loved, to be a help-mate, to be respected.
You are not like Me — when a man tries to control
a woman - or raise themselves up
over a woman for brute dominance — you
are giving into your wounded human nature —
Are you a man through your efforts —
God made them male and female —
with the purpose to serve God —
I, Jesus, the Son of God came into this world
in a woman —
Going through Mary's Pure and Immaculate
Heart is the way of greater intimacy
with God
The Holy Spirit works in the Heart of Mary forming you
more and more in My image and likeness.
Faults of man because of their wounded human
nature — seeking dominance for dominance
sake —
God created them male and female
A man scorned in love may have hate for women —
All relationships of deep love should be
dealt with - not leaving unfinished
gaping wounds - ready to lunge at another
because you were hurt in love —
Mom and dads who died must be let go —
It may be a process to heal, but letting go
forgiving, loving, praying for them, to
them — being united in a new way —
Not leaving unfinished gaping love relationships
that you act out on others —
punishing others —
making scenarios in old romantic unhealed,
unfinished relationships to try to
work them out on others —
Hard Hearts!!
WALLED IN!!
I am love — waiting to lunge at another because
of your unfinished, unhealed relationships —
is a heart locked up.
A dog run over in the street and bleeding attacks
even the doctor — he doesn't want anyone
touching him — GAPING WOUNDS
A person locked up in unfinished gaping
wounds, attacks many times, they need to deal
with themselves — not try to
argue and prove they are right
in hateful ways - to seek dominance and control —
Taking responsibility for sins committed as
they lived their lives hurting others —
I died for the wounds you put on others —
you whipped Me with your lies and unloving
ways
When you could have loved - you hated and argued
and said you were Christian — that is
not Christ-like — you drove My precious
souls away from Me —
Repent for your hatred and jealousy — you
don't fool Me —
The uninformed conscience — you have become
blind to your sins —
You wear a crucifix and act not like Me —
I am gentle, meek and kind in Heart —
I am not like your ways of fighting —
I am love.
