Prayer for Grace for our Country

Dear Father united to Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Sacrifice of Calvary sacramentally made present, celebrated around the world, in the Holy Spirit. We offer up all we do united to the Mass. We unite in one mind and one heart as members of the mystical body of Christ, with Christ our head in the pure and holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary, through the powerful intercession of Mary with all the angels and saints and souls in purgatory, and we beg for the saving grace, for our country, the United States. Please help us. We further pray for unity to always do the will of God in love. We spread the Blood of Jesus on the leaders and people of the United States and cast the devil into hell. We consecrate our country to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and all our dioceses, and beg for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God help us. We pray for our families, the priests, the Church and the world. In the Name of Jesus please hear us, we pray. We pray for our president and leaders. We pray that we are united as one nation under God to work together in love as God wants.

October 29, 1991

Jesus: I have sent a shower of grace healing and nourishing you.

You are My child and you are precious in My eyes, I love you.

Breathe in the goodness, the richness of God.

R. I will not cease praising Him, my God.

Matthew 11: 28-30

‘Come to me, all you who labour and are overburdened, and I will give you rest. Shoulder my yoke and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Yes, my yoke is easy and my burden light.’

R. Glory and praise to You, Oh Lord Jesus Christ.

Psalm 66: 1-2

Acclaim God, all the earth,
sing psalms to the glory of his name,
glorify him with your praises,

R. You have touched our hearts and now we listen to Your word.

My heart is on fire with Your love deep within me.

Fill me, LORD.

Oh, Spirit of God, guide my going out and my coming in - for You have touched my heart and You will show me the way of the Lord.

With a contrite heart for my sins I beg of You to shower Your grace deep in my soul.

I don’t want to leave, I want this peace and love to linger and be there with me all day, I want this warmth inside to continue with You Lord Jesus and Holy Spirit and God the Father. My Father, Who made me special, my Father, You created me as Your child.

I have a divine lineage. My Father is God. I am His precious child.

God speaks: I have healed you and you will be set free - go in the mercy of God.

R. Permeate my heart with Your love so I may know You more and more.

As a child of God, I have dignity, I am somebody - what would God not do for His child?

R. Living for oneself has consequences.
God calls us to love, to kindness, to humility.
We can become a slave to the meaningless gods we hold onto in life, pride, wealth, attention.

John 3: 16

For this is how God loved the world:
he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him
    may not perish
but may have eternal life.

John 1: 14

The Word became flesh,
he lived among us,

R. Christmas is when Jesus came to the earth, the Savior of the world.
Celebrate in joy such a beautiful night.
Jesus came the Savior of the world.

Excerpt of The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, by Louis J. Puhl, S.J.

142. THIRD POINT. ... First they are to tempt them to covet riches (as Satan himself is accustomed to do in most cases) that they may the more easily attain the empty honors of this world, and then come to overweening pride.

The first step, then, will be riches, the second honor, the third pride. From these three steps the evil one leads to all other vices.   end of excerpt

Wealth is not what is the primary concern.
Affection – trying to beat every event to get all the attention - even chaos, confusion …

Power - being in control, being on top, making others under at any expense. I’m better than everyone else-act.

This is what matters – Peace, love, joy, thinking about others, for the good of the other, to give honor and glory to God, not oneself.

This is what matters – Family, light, joy, Jesus.

Song: A Song from Jesus

R. How did we leave others when we left them?

Did we lift them up, encourage them, see their talents?

How many people gave us love, but we thought about only ourselves?

People slipping through our fingers, we failed to notice.

Our choices have consequences.

We can do what is just and loving or give barely so people struggle to get through.

We can make things hard for others, not helping them.

We may never take the time to slow down to smell the roses. Sometimes we never really love those around us, like we should, using them as objects to feed our power and control.

We can be not giving, for love, but giving to get something in exchange, for ourselves.

Jesus was born in poverty.

Sing: Angels we have Heard on High

God calls us to die to our unloving ways and grow in Him.

Some people are jealous, envious and want nobody else on their stage - thinking they own things, not theirs.

We should share our wealth, our talents, our love.

We should work and cooperate with others.

We want to love, to help them, not count the cost.

Love is from the heart, lifting people up, love from the heart, giving, helping, caring.
We could count all that some do to serve and love us.

We should know about others, because we care!!!

We can make lives for others a picnic or a prison, depending on how we are in our hearts: loving or self-centered.

Life is in Jesus.

Jesus: I am the way, the truth and the life. Follow Me.

R. Christmas is to teach us love and kindness and giving.

Christmas love.🎄🎄🎄

Time here can be very short. We can be taken in an instant.

Love is giving for the good of the other.
Love gives and doesn’t count the cost.
Love is kind and lifts others up, so we leave them in a better place when we leave.

Love is kind and helps others, love co-operates with others for a greater good.

Love gives for the gift of giving, not to serve oneself.

Love cares for the good of others.

Love is from God. He is the source of love. God is love and in Him is no darkness.

The devil wants people to be sad, depressed, not recognize their gifts.

Love is loyalty. Those who work in trust and loyalty, should be recognized.

The people who were captured in Babylon lost their freedom. God promised them they would be freed to go home.

Remember the Israelites at the time of Moses, were enslaved by the Egyptians and Moses told the Pharaoh to let the people go.

We can have everlasting joy in heaven, we must be set free from Satan pressing down, and follow Jesus.

We can have a spiritual problem and no amount of money will free that.

We must be patient and steadfast in our faith in Jesus.

There is a Sunday in Advent
Gaudete Sunday.

It means ”Rejoice in the Lord, always, again I say rejoice”.

When you pray it lifts you up.
When Paul wrote this, he was in prison.
We can make our own prison how we look at things - our attitude, our faith in God.

The Lord is near, we need faith in God, we need to pray.

We can make the choice if we want to sit around and feel sorry for ourselves or have a positive attitude and rejoice.

Pray together and know God is with us, we feel His power and His peace.

        Negativism can destroy us.
Fruit comes from a well cared and loved garden.
        Focus on Jesus!!
God was near to Paul, even in prison.

Lift your voice, your heart, your life up to the Lord. God is all powerful.

Thank the Lord.

He is so good to us!

God is with us in trials, praise God for everything even when you don’t get it.

God is with us in trials.

Sing: How Great Thou Art!!

Be patient, St. James says.
Song lifts our heart.
So powerful!!!

God is in charge and we are not!! God gives for our happiness.

Sorrowful Mysteries

The Agony in the Garden

1. Mark 14: 32-44

They came to a plot of land called Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, ‘Stay here while I pray.’ Then he took Peter and James and John with him. And he began to feel terror and anguish. And he said to them, ‘My soul is sorrowful to the point of death. Wait here, and stay awake.’ And going on a little further he threw himself on the ground and prayed that, if it were possible, this hour might pass him by. ‘Abba,  Father!’ he said, ‘For you everything is possible. Take this cup away from me. But let it be as you, not I, would have it.’ He came back and found them sleeping, and he said to Peter, ‘Simon, are you asleep? Had you not the strength to stay awake one hour? Stay awake and pray not to be put to the test. The spirit is willing enough, but human nature is weak.’ Again he went away and prayed, saying the same words. And once more he came back and found them sleeping, their eyes were so heavy; and they could find no answer for him. He came back a third time and said to them, ‘You can sleep on now and have your rest. It is all over. The hour has come. Now the Son of man is to be betrayed into the hands of sinners. Get up! Let us go! My betrayer is not far away.’

And at once, while he was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, came up and with him a number of men armed with swords and clubs, sent by the chief priests and the scribes and the elders. Now the traitor had arranged a signal with them saying, ‘The one I kiss, he is the man. Arrest him, and see he is well guarded when you lead him away.’

2. Jesus took Peter, James and John in the Garden.

3. They fell asleep.

4. They did not understand what Jesus was saying about dying and being raised up on the third day.

5. At the transfiguration, Jesus took Peter, James and John up Mt. Tabor, and they saw Him transfigured before them.

6. Jesus was doing the work of the Father.

7. When the Holy Spirit came they were able to go out to spread the Gospel without fear.

8. Jesus knew all who would reject Him despite all He suffered for them.

9. Jesus sweat blood, His anguish was so deep.

10. Interior suffering can be so intense. Look at Mary, she did not bear the wounds to her body, but, Oh how she suffered.

Jesus was Scourged at the Pillar

1. We can see in our lives many times, how we must suffer for those we love. Those caring for a Spouse may suffer so much in sickness. Those children that are wounded and then lash out in rebellion.

2. It takes God's guidance and grace to help us be steadfast in love and faith, when we are suffering.

3. Dear God, Thank You for all You have done for us. We love You and want Your grace poured out to us. Thank You for the sacraments and for baptism, giving us a sharing in Your life.

4. Sing: How Great Thou Art

5. Sing: A Song from Jesus

6. Matthew 27: 24-26

Then Pilate saw that he was making no impression, that in fact a riot was imminent. So he took some water, washed his hands in front of the crowd and said, ‘I am innocent of this man’s blood. It is your concern.’ And the people, every one of them, shouted back, ‘Let his blood be on us and on our children!’ Then he released Barabbas for them. After having Jesus scourged he handed him over to be crucified.

7. Jesus endured so mush for our sins. He loves us so much and wants us eternally with Him in heaven.

8. God, thanks for Your grace given to us. Please give us the grace we need most.

9. Jesus' body was a bloody mess. He loves us so much. He suffered for our sins.

10.

Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.

The Crowning with Thorns

1. Matthew 27: 27-31

Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus with them into the Praetorium and collected the whole cohort round him. And they stripped him and put a scarlet cloak round him, and having twisted some thorns into a crown they put this on his head and placed a reed in his right hand. To make fun of him they knelt to him saying, ‘Hail, king of the Jews!’ And they spat on him and took the reed and struck him on the head with it. And when they had finished making fun of him, they took off the cloak and dressed him in his own clothes and led him away to crucifixion.

2. First Commandment

  1. I, the Lord, am your God. You shall not have other gods besides me.

3. Pride was the sin of Eve in the Garden - she wanted to be equal to God.
Jesus is the King of heaven and earth.

4. They gave Jesus a crown of thorns to pay for the sins of men, especially the sin of pride, putting oneself before God, for power and control and glory for oneself.

5. Blood ran down Jesus' entire head, His eyes were beaten up, His ears beaten. They pounded the thorns into His precious head.

6. Oh Jesus, I love You so much, thank You for suffering for my sins and for being my Savior.

7. Oh Jesus, You are Priest, Prophet and King.

8. They gave Jesus a dirty purple robe and a scepter and they mocked Him and they spit on Jesus.

9. Jesus suffered this terrible treatment for our sins.

10. Oh Jesus, we are so sorry for offending God with our pride and anger and jealousy and envy and slothfulness, and our sins.

The Carrying of the Cross

1. I think of the interior suffering of Mary and Jesus on the way to Calvary.

2. When we suffer deeply, interiorly, we can go to Mary and Jesus, think of Their interior suffering to know what was going on.

3. Mary cried and her face was so red from what she endured, think of her heart and her insides, she endured so much.

4. Jesus and Mary knew suffering, looking into each other's eyes. Remember the prophecy of Simeon, and remember all the years Mary and Jesus shared when Jesus lived the quiet life, age 12 to 30. Their relationship was so deep. So was their suffering - so deep.

5. Mary suffered so much watching her Son.

6. Simon of Cyrene was forced to help Jesus carry the cross.

7. Veronica wiped Jesus' precious face.

8. Jesus saw the ladies crying over Him.

But Jesus turned to them and said, ‘Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep rather for yourselves and for your children. Luke 23: 28

9. They then stripped Jesus of His garments.

10. Then they nailed Jesus to the cross.

The Crucifixion

1. Mark 15: 24-38

Then they crucified him, and shared out his clothing, casting lots to decide what each should get. It was the third hour when they crucified him. The inscription giving the charge against him read, ‘The King of the Jews’. And they crucified two bandits with him, one on his right and one on his left.

The passers–by jeered at him; they shook their heads and said, ‘Aha! So you would destroy the Temple and rebuild it in three days! Then save yourself; come down from the cross!’ The chief priests and the scribes mocked him among themselves in the same way with the words, ‘He saved others, he cannot save himself. Let the Christ, the king of Israel, come down from the cross now, for us to see it and believe.’ Even those who were crucified with him taunted him.

When the sixth hour came there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, ‘Eloi, eloi, lama sabachthani?’ which means, ‘My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?’ When some of those who stood by heard this, they said, ‘Listen, he is calling on Elijah.’ Someone ran and soaked a sponge in vinegar and, putting it on a reed, gave it to him to drink saying, ‘Wait! And see if Elijah will come to take him down.’ But Jesus gave a loud cry and breathed his last. And the veil of the Sanctuary was torn in two from top to bottom.

2. Sing: A Song from Jesus

3. Jesus hung for 3 agonizing hours on the cross.

4. There were two thieves on either side of Jesus. A good thief and a bad thief.

We see our choices in life, we can turn from sin and choose life or we can keep rebelling against God with a hard heart.

5. Mary's Message - from the Rosary of August 27, 1996

Mary:  I stood beneath the cross of my Son, and my Heart was in such pain for I saw Him before my eyes. I saw Him covered with blood. I saw Him die. My Heart, my children, my Heart to watch my Son, but my Heart, my Heart, how I suffered for my little children of the world that give in to this world and give up the love of my Son. O my little children of light, I give you this message. Carry this light into the darkness for your Mother Mary, for I stood beneath the cross and I cried. I cried for the little ones. I cried for the young ones, the ones that do not care and will lose their souls. How do I make you see for you will not listen to me? What can I do? I come. I appear. I beg. I plead. I give you these gifts from my Son, and you reject me. I do not deliver messages very often anymore for I have been ignored. The message is the same. You do not read the messages I have given to you. Please help me. Help the little children. I appear. I appear. I appear, and I am ignored. I stood beneath the cross, and I cried. I cried, and my Heart was in such anguish for my little children, for I am searching for them this day as I searched for the Child Jesus. Please, please help me. I cannot hold back the hand of my Son any longer. I am Mary, your Mother. I ask you to help my children. You are my children of light. end of Mary's Message

6.

Look at Mary Magdalene under the cross (a reformed sinner) and St. John.

7. Jesus wants us to ask for forgiveness for our sins. Jesus paid the price for our sins. Pride can keep our hearts hard.

8. Peter was sorry for denying Christ.

9. The other Apostles were so afraid they were not under Jesus' cross.

10. What is our excuse when we let ourselves grow in deep pride and we need to admit our sin and beg for forgiveness.

A Prayer for Intimacy with the Lamb, the Bridegroom of the Soul

Oh Lamb of God, Who take away the sins of the world, come and act on my soul most intimately. I surrender myself, as I ask for the grace to let go, to just be as I exist in You and You act most intimately on my soul. You are the Initiator. I am the soul waiting Your favors as You act in me. I love You. I adore You. I worship You. Come and possess my soul with Your Divine Grace, as I experience You most intimately.

Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Litugical Year (2011/2012)
$ 10.00

Guiding Light homily series — Reflect on the Word — Cycle B     The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand. $10

Guiding Light - Steadfast to the Son
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle A of the Litugical Year
$ 10.00

Guiding Light homily series — Steadfast to the Son — Cycle A    The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $10

Guiding Light - Focusing on the Word
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Litugical Year
$ 10.00

Guiding Light — Focusing on the Word — Cycle B    At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $10

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle C of the Litugical Year
$ 10.00

Guiding Light — Feed My Soul — Cycle C    In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $10
