May our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father who has given us his love and, through his grace, such ceaseless encouragement and such sure hope, encourage you and strengthen you in every good word and deed.

Finally, brothers, pray for us that the Lord's message may spread quickly, and be received with honour as it was among you; and pray that we may be preserved from bigoted and evil people, for not everyone has faith. You can rely on the Lord, who will give you strength and guard you from the evil One, and we, in the Lord, have every confidence in you, that you are doing and will go on doing all that we tell you. May the Lord turn your hearts towards the love of God and the perseverance of Christ.

Luke 16: 9-15

‘And so I tell you this: use money, tainted as it is, to win you friends, and thus make sure that when it fails you, they will welcome you into eternal dwellings. Anyone who is trustworthy in little things is trustworthy in great; anyone who is dishonest in little things is dishonest in great. If then you are not trustworthy with money, that tainted thing, who will trust you with genuine riches? And if you are not trustworthy with what is not yours, who will give you what is your very own?

                        lot, angry because of

1 Corinthians 15: 20-28

    In fact, however, Christ has been raised from the dead, as the first–fruits of all who have fallen asleep.                 they do the 12 steps and it has

Twelve Steps of AA 

            Here are the steps we took, which are suggested as a program of recovery:

                    1.  We admitted we were powerless over alcohol,
                            that our lives had become unmanageable.

                    2.  Came to believe that a Power greater than
                            ourselves could restore us to sanity.

                    3.  Made a decision to turn our will and our lives
                            over to the care of God as we understood Him.

                    4.  Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

                    5.  Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human
                            being the exact nature of our wrongs.

                    6.  Were entirely ready to have God remove all
                            these defects of character.

                    7.  Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.

                    8.  Made a list of all persons we had harmed,
                            and became willing to make amends to them all.

                    9.  Made direct amends to such people wherever possible,
                            except when to do so would injure them or others.

                    10.  Continued to take personal inventory and when we
                            were wrong promptly admitted it.

                    11.  Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our
                            conscious contact with God as we understood Him,
                            praying only for knowledge of His will for us and
                            the power to carry that out.

                    12.  Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps,
                            we tried to carry this message to alcoholics,
                            and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

 

                    They must admit their lives
                became unmanageable —

                    People on drugs and alcohol
                have lives that have become
                unmanageable, but people
                addicted to control, having
                food disorders, sleep disorders,
                giving into the devil, causing
                argumentation for the addiction
                to conflict, addictions of
                dominance-over, unhappy
                co-dependent relationships —
                abusive relationships — all
                can have lives of hell —
                They become addicted to their
                dysfunction — they see life by
                subjecting control on another —
                they start fires — some start a
                fire — put it out and then start
                more unsettled controlling ways —
                If these people are in authority
                so many can suffer — there is
                the needing to obey — one who
                is not consistent like a
                moving pole.

                People who lie are like a moving
                    pole.

                People addicted to drugs and alcohol
                    are enslaved by the chemical —
                    they will do anything — lie,
                    become criminal in actions

                People who abuse others for
                    selfish gain — live in a
                    place where their heart
                    becomes dead — more and more —

                    Once satan has his way controlling
                an individual and their life causes
                confusion for every one else —
                Satan moves ahead leading them
                deeper and deeper into their dysfunction
                going against the natural law
                is a sign, disobeying the
                commandments — getting advice
                from others who are sinning
                instead of following the
                Word of God, and the commandments,

                Frequent confession to a good
                confessor — a holy stable priest
                can help a person to not be
                tempted to live a rebellious
                life against God's will.

                    Jesus is meek and tender of
                heart.

                    The litany of the Sacred Heart
                is so beautiful, for example:

                    "Heart of Jesus, sacred temple of God"
                    "Heart of Jesus, tabernacle of the Most High"

                When addiction to sex, alcohol,
                    drugs, control — co-dependent
                    relationships enter in

                God gives us this Litany to say —
                    to change our hearts —
                    so important in the Church
                    is a whole month that is
                    dedicated to the Sacred Heart,
                    but many do not even pay
                    attention to it —

                I have suffered the most since
                    I have received these messages
                    in Lent and the Month of the
                    Sacred Heart — for many pay
                    no attention to the fact
                    June is set aside as the
                    month of the Sacred Heart —
                    burning with love for men —

                Religious should be so happy to
                    spend time with Jesus,
                    celebrating the Feast of the
                    Body and Blood of Jesus —

                Sometimes Trinity Sunday is in June —
                The Feast of the Sacred Heart
                The Feast of the Immaculate Heart
                The Feast of John the Baptist
                    on June 24.

                Jesus is our Spouse
                More than ever Jesus is the Spouse
                    of the religious

                He is God

                Jesus wants us to honor His Heart
                Jesus does not want unfaithful
                    Spouses —

                Jesus' act of love in the Mass —
                    is the most perfect act of
                    love for sinful men —
                    Jesus gives us dignity —
                    He gives us His Body and Blood
                        to eat

                "Heart of Jesus, house of God
                    and gate of heaven"

                Jesus' Heart is filled with treasure
                    burning Divine Love for men
                    allured by other treasures (they think)
                    and other gods.

                    The molten calf story in
                the Bible tells us — Moses got
                the commandments from God
                and those at the bottom of the
                mountain were concerned with
                gold — they worshiped the
                molten calf.

                    Isn't that the life long
                struggle of sinful man — to
                disobey the commandments of
                God and to have other gods.
                How can a religious go into the
                convent, priesthood, brotherhood
                and be unfaithful to God.

                    He sees our heart — He knows
                our intentions more than us —
                He knows our molten calves —
                our other gods.

                    God wants harmony
                    Living according to His will
                    Jesus came to bring peace to
                        the earth and set the world
                        on fire with His burning love

                He says it in the scriptures —

                What did Jesus say about the
                    scriptures being fulfilled —
                    What did Jesus mean?

                    He gives us the Church —

                    He gives us Himself in the
                        Eucharist

                    Jesus isn't like "flighty"
                        man — He is faithful —
                        He keeps His promise —

                To be rebellious against the
                    - natural law
                    - against the will of God
                    - to cause confusion
                    is giving into satan.

                God is all good.
                God is all beautiful.

                God gives the baby in the womb —
                    some destroy a baby for
                    convenience —

                How could they kill a baby —

                They close their hearts —
                They take their focus off of God
                They become selfish, self-
                    focused

                In the Promises of the Sacred Heart
                    to St. Margaret Mary it says

 

Promises of Our Lord to those devoted to His Sacred Heart: 

1. I will give them all the graces necessary in their state of life.

2. I will establish peace in their homes.

3. I will comfort them in all their afflictions.

4. I will be their refuge during life and above all in death.

5. I will bestow a large blessing on all their undertakings.

6. Sinners shall find in My Heart the source and the infinite ocean of mercy.

7. Tepid souls shall grow fervent.

8. Fervent souls shall quickly mount to high perfection.

9. I will bless every place where a picture of My Heart shall be set up and honored.

10. I will give to priests the gift of touching the most hardened hearts.

11. Those who promote this devotion shall have their names written in My Heart, never to be blotted out.

12. I promise you in the excessive mercy of My Heart that My all-powerful love will grant to all those who communicate on the first Friday in nine consecutive months the grace of final penitence; they shall not die in My disgrace nor without receiving their sacraments; My divine Heart shall be their safe refuge in this last moment.

   

                A priest told me that St. Margaret Mary's sisters in the
                    convent dragged her around by the hair
                    because of her devotion to
                    the Sacred Heart, apparitions
                    etc. —

                He further said they locked her
                    in a closet. (I didn't read
                    this myself)

                St. John of the Cross
                    openly said as a priest
                    "I am in love"
                    Jesus is my love.
                    He tried to reform things —
                    change the unholy ways —

                He was locked in a tower —
                    where he did his best
                    writing —

                The cross he knew was like
                    this

On His Passion

Jesus: My dear child,

I was condemned to death, death on a cross. They gave Me a big cross and made Me carry it. They stood around and glared at Me. It weighed on My shoulder and I pulled at it until it finally moved. Every step was almost impossible as I dragged it, weighing so heavily on My shoulders.

My shoulder felt as if the bones inside would crack and the cross would fall through to the ground. I couldn’t drag it any more. I tried, I fell. I fell and its weight fell on Me. A guard hit Me with something sharp. It really hurt because he wanted Me to move, and fast! People were watching -- on with the show! How dare I fall in the middle of the show! He hit Me again and the blow really stung Me. I got up because it hurt so badly. I tried to walk on.

My Mother was in the crowd. She looked at Me and her face looked red and hurt. Tears rolled down her cheeks like rain and as her eyes met Mine, I was hurt so by her sorrow! She was always by My side, silent and loving. She was My Mother of love! She is always there next to you when you suffer.

I fell again and he (the guard) really hit Me. It (the cross) was so heavy that he and I together could barely move it. It seemed as I walked, heavier with the sins of the world heaped on it. My hands were bleeding. Blood ran from the wounds of My thorns and My head throbbed, seeming to make the wounds in My head bleed even more. Some of the Blood was dried, some of it running all over My Body. I had so many cuts and bruises -- and people watched and laughed!

I am Jesus, Son of the Living God, and they laughed and mimicked Me! Oh, such hardened hearts! How vile can men’s hearts become? The devil’s grip is paralyzing and crippling.

The walk was so long up a hill and over rocks -- the cross had to be lifted over the rocks. My Body was bleeding so badly! My Heart was pounding. I knew that the salvation of all men depended on My love. Therefore, I went through such agony.

I thought of My intense love for you -- that many would go to heaven because of My suffering -- and I continued to the top of the hill. At the top they laid Me on the cross and with a big hammer nailed My hands to it. It was the worst (suffering) yet. My hands were nailed with big nails and the big hammer. Then, as if that weren’t enough, with a big nail they nailed through both feet.

Then they lifted the cross and banged it into (a hole in) the ground. My shoulders ached from how I hung. My head bobbed and My neck ached and they laughed and said, "Now save Yourself." I hurt so much! I suffered this way for hours -- which seemed like forever -- and they glared at Me and laughed! My Mother watched in such agony.

For love of you, to My death I gave you My Body. My child, I shed My Blood and gave you My life that you might be with Me forever in heaven -- not for a day, a month or a year, but forever with Me in heaven.

I am the true Bread come down from heaven. He who eats My Flesh will have life forever. For the drink I give you is My Blood and food you eat is My Body. Who would lay down his life for a friend? I did, for you. I love you this much, child. Forget about those who reject you. You have My life that I gave you and I give you life eternal.

I am the One true God. I am the Light of life. He who abides in Me will have life eternal, for the drink I give is My Blood and the food I give is My Body. Drink and eat and have everlasting life.

My child, that is all you need to know. Love one another and be good that you may enter into My Kingdom.

LET US LOVE THE TWO HEARTS OF JESUS AND MARY
IN THE RECEPTION OF THE HOLY EUCHARIST.

HE GAVE HIMSELF TO US ON THE CROSS. HE GIVES HIMSELF TO US IN THE EUCHARIST.

How great was the act of love, God gave to this world, when He gave Himself and died on the cross. He gives Himself to us this day in the Holy Eucharist.

The greatest commandment is that we must love God with our whole heart, our whole soul, and our whole being. This is a commandment. If we are to enter heaven, we must follow the commandments. They are commands given by God for us to follow.

The greatest act we can do on this earth is an act of loving God. The reason for our existence is to love God. In the sacrament of His greatest love, He gives Himself to us. This is an act of love on His part. We are called to respond by giving ourselves in love to Him.

This is the purpose of the Holy Eucharist: to unite in such oneness with our Holy, Loving God. Our all consuming passion should be that of loving God. How many go to the Eucharist with the sole purpose of giving great love to God? He wants us to love Him. He wants souls to tell Him how much they truly love Him. This is the most intimate act of love when Jesus gives Himself-Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity to man. If it is such an act of love, how are we receiving Him in Communion? We should beg God, in this most intimate union with Him, to help us to love Him with greatest love.

Jesus is a Person. He wants our love. The Holy Spirit wants such intimacy with us. Our Father wants us to love Him. In the Eucharist, we unite with God. In this intimate act of uniting with our beloved God, with Divinity, we must pour out our love to God. We must pour out our heart to the most adorable Heart of Jesus. Jesus is so unjustly treated by many of His beloved souls He loves so much. Let us help make reparation to the Almighty God by loving God with our whole heart, our whole soul, and our whole being in the sacrament of His greatest love. This is the Gift of Himself.

Think of how it is to love someone and give your all for that person, to pour out your heart to him or her and then be treated with coldness and neglect. It hurts our heart so much more when we deeply love someone to be rejected by that person. Jesus loves us with the deepest love. We cannot fully comprehend this love. Let us love Him with the deepest love. Let us love Mary and her Immaculate Heart. Let us love her as the Mother of God. Let us love her as the virgin who bore the Son of God. May we, in the reception of the Eucharist pour out our love to Him, to this adorable Heart. May we pour out our love to His Holy Mother.

Mary said at Fatima that Jesus wants His Heart venerated next to the heart of His Mother. Let us love these two Hearts as we receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist. Then we are so deeply united with God. We see Their two Hearts surrounded with thorns for the injustices against Their Hearts. Let us help make reparation daily as we receive Him in the Eucharist. This is a special time to help make reparation to Their wounded Hearts.

Let us remember how He poured His love out to us on the cross and how He pours out His love to us now when He gives us Himself in the Eucharist, the Eucharist which contains His Heart of burning love. His Heart was pierced with a lance. Her heart was invisibly pierced with a sword. As the wounds in Their Hearts are deep, so too is Their love so deep.

He does not want "surface love". He wants hearts filled with deep burning love.

A Prayer before the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass

    Let me be a holy sacrifice and unite with God in the sacrament of His greatest love.

    I want to be one in Him in this act of love, where He gives Himself to me and I give myself as a sacrifice to Him. Let me be a holy sacrifice as I become one with Him in this my act of greatest love to Him.

    Let me unite with Him more, that I may more deeply love Him. May I help make reparation to His adorable Heart and the heart of His Mother, Mary. With greatest love, I offer myself to You and pray that You will accept my sacrifice of greatest love. I give myself to You and unite in Your gift of Yourself to me. Come and possess my soul.

    Cleanse me, strengthen me, heal me. Dear Holy Spirit act in the heart of Mary to make me more and more like Jesus.

    Father, I offer this my sacrifice, myself united to Jesus in the Holy Spirit to You. Help me to love God more deeply in this act of my greatest love.

    Give me the grace to grow in my knowledge, love and service of You and for this to be my greatest participation in the Mass. Give me the greatest graces to love You so deeply in this Mass, You who are so worthy of my love.

The hired man, since he is not the shepherd and the sheep do not belong to him, abandons the sheep as soon as he sees a wolf coming, and runs away, and then the wolf attacks and scatters the sheep; he runs away because he is only a hired man and has no concern for the sheep. I am the good shepherd; I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for my sheep. (Jn 10:11-15)¹

Yes, the Good Shepherd laid down His life for us. And it is in this that we must lay down our lives daily in the Morning Offering, offering all we do as a sacrifice united to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and great grace will be released for souls. We can identify with Him in this that we offer everything we do in trying to please Him and serve Him as a sacrifice united to the Mass. The more we tell others to pray the Morning Offering, the more people will lay down their lives for souls and the more grace will be released for the troubled hearts.

Jesus’ Heart is pure and holy, our hearts are tainted.

Mary’s Heart is pure and sinless. The more we unite our offering with Their pure and holy Hearts, the more pure our offering and the greatest grace will be released for the troubled souls.

Souls, it is souls He came to save. Do we want to identify with our beloved Savior? Then we must not miss an opportunity to lay down our lives as a sacrifice for His precious souls.

Oh, how His Heart burned with love for the souls when He mounted the cross, covered with Blood and gave Himself as a sacrifice for souls.

Yes, the Good Shepherd laid down His life for His flock and we as His faithful shepherds must lay down our lives for His flock today.

There are millions of elderly that cry out daily, "Oh, God why am I here today?" In giving them a small card as simple as the ones that follow, they can offer their lives for souls which can help bring down great grace for the souls of this earth.

 

Say daily God, I give you my life in union with the Mass as an offering for the souls, the Church and the priests Help us!

      

Your life is so important for souls,  you can help bring down great grace.

      

Morning Offering My dear Father, I offer you this day all my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings in union with Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, in the Holy Spirit.  I unite with our Mother Mary, all the angels and saints, and all the souls in purgatory to pray to the Father for myself, for each member of my family, for my friends, for all people throughout the world, for all the souls in purgatory, and for all other intentions of the sacred Heart. I love You, Jesus, and I give You my heart. I love you, Mary, and I give you my heart. Amen.

Offering Our Lives to God

Written May 29, 2000:

When we come to Mass we make an offering of ourselves, all our sorrows, wounds, joys, our complete selves. We see our lives and we put ourselves in Mary’s Heart, ask to make the offering in greatest purity. In His Heart we offer the sacrifice IN HIM and WITH HIM.

We become one with Him as deeply as possible. We dwell in His most perfect Heart offering sacrifice to God for our sins and the sins of men. Our whole being is very active in the Mass as we realize more the power of this Sacrifice most worthily offered. We want to give ourselves as completely as possible, our past, all of ourselves, now become so one in the moment of sacrifice as we become one in Him pleading and begging to our God for purification, for help, for love of Him and all others. We give thanksgiving, worship and honor to Him, our whole being given as a sacrifice on the altar IN His pure and holy Heart. Being in the Immaculate Heart of our Mother, we offer sacrifice for the Church and the world.

We offer every precious moment of our lives, united to the Masses around the world, being one in Jesus. Every moment is a moment of sacrifice united to God. This is what we do in the Morning Offering.

The pages of the book of our lives are being written. These moments of our lives are so dear to God, for we offer our lives as a sacrifice for souls.

Are we spending the precious moments of our lives offering sacrifice to God for His honor and glory and giving our lives as a sacrifice for souls?

Write a short page every day or the following day, similar to an examination of conscience, seeing the good (so much good we accomplish we overlook, so many precious moments of joy we forget) and the times we were troubled.

The devil tries to keep us focused on the problems. We are His shepherds, helping to shepherd His flock, there is so much good we can accomplish every day. We should write a short page every day, date it, read over it when we are troubled, keep it in a book, see how many joyful moments we have every day. Give them to God as a bouquet of flowers placed at His feet on that last day, the pages of the life of our book. We will want all pages to be done in love, all for the honor and glory of God.

Through Him, With Him and In Him

We should pray the prayer from Jesus before His bitter passion.

I pray not only for these but also for those who through their teaching will come to believe in me. May they all be one, just as, Father, you are in me and I am in you, so that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe it was you who sent me. I have given them the glory you gave to me, that they may be one as we are one. With me in them and you in me, may they be so perfected in unity that the world will recognise that it was you who sent me and that you have loved them as you have loved me.

Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, so that they may always see my glory which you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world. Father, Upright One, the world has not known you, but I have known you, and these have known that you have sent me. I have made your name known to them and will continue to make it known, so that the love with which you loved me may be in them, and so that I may be in them. (Jn 17: 20-26)

Jesus’ Heart is on fire for love of us.

God the Father loves us so much, give Him the moments of our lives as a sacrifice.

Peace, Love, Oneness – One Body In Him.

Our prayers are answered. We must pray from the depth of our hearts. Giving ourselves in consecration to Jesus, consecrating our hearts to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Offer sacrifice.

Put the flowers as gifts beneath the throne of God.

Plead and beg for souls.

Offer sacrifice. Be united as a body.

And the bell tolls.

Do you hear the bells toll?

The moments of our lives we cannot live again.

We are here to love and honor God and to serve Him, to prepare ourselves for the life hereafter and to help others get there.

He is the Son of God.

He showed us how to be children of the Father.

He laid down His life for His flock.

He is the Good Shepherd.

We lay down our lives in our Morning Offering.

We lay down our lives and unite to the perfect Sacrifice of the Savior.

The moments go by with such swiftness and now here is the day, the kids are grown, the grandchildren have come, and we still say, "TOMORROW I will be about my union with God."

There are so many precious moments that could have been united as a sacrifice for special grace for ourselves and others.

When He was here on earth, He merited grace by His life and death.

We need to tap into this grace our Divine Savior came to earth to gain for us.

We must tap into this sacrifice.

The moments of our lives tick away. There are millions of souls in nursing homes that could be offering up their lives for souls. We have to unite ourselves and reach them, all the souls that will hear us and unite to this Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. He is the Head, we are the members of His body, the Church. We must be united in the Mass, praying every moment together, being one in Him in this Holy Sacrifice so that great grace will be released.

All our most difficult trials, when we endure them with love, can help to bring down great grace.

The moment is now.

The bell is tolling.

I can only live in this moment.

I must unite it to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, praying for souls.

Every moment, whether of joy or suffering, can be a moment of grace being released for our needs, for the salvation of souls, to make reparation to God, to honor and love Him and obey Him.

OUR LIVES ARE INDEED PRECIOUS, every moment, a moment that our Father gave us as a child of God for His honor and glory.

Alleluia – God, help us unite as a body.

Alleluia – God, help us to see ourselves all one as the family of the Father with Mary our loving Mother.

How will the page of our book look for the Father? Whether we write or not, we lived it as He willed or we lived it against His will.

Were our moments, moments to give Him honor and glory, to help promote the kingdom, to help save souls and lead others to God? Did the moments help us have a higher place in heaven? Did we mature more in our love relationship with God?

Here are the flowers over the bed where Father Carter died. Before he died he requested these news-letters be continued with his writings. Father Carter wrote 17 books and 33 newsletters in the 33 years he wrote during his life. Father Carter very carefully helped prepare this writing in those last days so his writings will continue. THE MISSION given to him by God to reach the priests was twofold.

His mission was to reach the priests with these newsletters centered in consecration and to begin prayer chapters centered in consecration to pray for the priests and the renewal of the Church and the world.

His desire being that his writings be published in future newsletters and along with other articles, that prayer chapters be begun praying these prayers.

Tapes are available with this newsletter and Father Carter, himself, prays these short prayers he gave to us in the prayer manual for this purpose. A prayer manual is enclosed. Also on the tapes, another priest reads the powerful writing of Father Carter on Grace.

In the last three months of his life, he firmly directed how he desired the newsletter to be continued.

Our precious moments are to be petals of flowers we give to our Father for that last day.

The moments of our lives are being written. He has them all recorded in our book of life.

Today is the day I was born into the world.

What a glorious day it was, for I came and had the opportunity to gain heaven and help others do likewise.

The bell tolls.

The long night will soon be over.

A new spring day buds forth.

In the fall, the leaves give way to winter and soon we see the days are gone and past. How did we love and serve the Lord?

The trees are barren, the trees are in full bloom – the years go by, the seasons change, a small sore, a big blockage in the heart, soon the long hard nights come to a close and the glory of the long days waited, arrives. God gives His people what is their due.

How did we love and serve our God? How did we promote the kingdom on earth?

How did we live?

How did we follow in the Good Shepherd’s footsteps and lay down our lives for our friends?

I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd lays down his life for his sheep. On September 22, 2000, Father Carter went into surgery. They opened him up and found out he had cancer. His disease was very advanced. He spent the last days preparing this writing to continue his mission – to write the priestly newsletter for priests and others interested in the spiritual life. He is the founder of the Shepherds of Christ Movement. Father Carter, S.J., authored some 17 books revealing deep insights into the divine mysteries. His writing is not complete in the 33 newsletters he was permitted to edit. His writing is seen in the whole body of material he authored in the 33 years he wrote. He wrote the following prayers for prayer chapters to pray for the priests, the Church, and the world. For the past six years the newsletter has been distributed around the world with circulation increasing to approximately 75,000 priests in English and Spanish. Now the newsletter is translated into French and we are currently translating the first twenty page newsletter into Portuguese. The first book Father wrote in 1967, Response in Christ was soon published and became the book of the month. It was then translated into Polish, Italian, and Portuguese. This began Father’s writing career. Thirty-three years later, God has called him home after touching so many souls with his writing and his work to help bring about the Reign of the Sacred Heart through all he did for sisters, priests, and laity. He founded the Shepherds of Christ Ministries to pray for priests and to help bring about the renewal of the Church and the world. In addition to circulating the newsletter to approximately 75,000 priests, bishops and cardinals, he began prayer chapters praying prayers for the priests, the Church and the world, honoring the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. For the past six years, a strong body of people have given their lives supporting this effort to get the newsletter into the hands of the priests and to pray for them and for the renewal of the Church and the world. We try to get as many people as possible, in nursing homes, prisons, schools, and families to say the morning offering and offer their lives as a sacrifice united to the Mass for the priests, the Church and the world. We try to tell people all over about the prayers in the red prayer manual Father Carter wrote so we can pray them for the priests, the Church and the world. People all over the world gather every evening at 6:30 and pray these prayers for the priests, the Church, and the world. Father Carter’s vision was that the Sacred Heart of Jesus would be the King and Center of all men’s hearts and that the Sacred Heart of Jesus would be honored and loved by men. Father Carter’s love of Our Lady is shown in his writings. He always saw himself as a little baby in her arms. In his room that last day was a holy card of Mary holding the Child Jesus, which was the only holy card we saw in his room. It looked as if he had held it. It looked used. In going through his personal holy cards, he had so many holy cards of Mary holding the Child Jesus. He worked hard to publish the twenty page newsletter. It was a review of the spiritual life. He said he had to do it. He went into surgery September 22, 2000. His funeral was December 22, 2000, exactly three months later. In these months he struggled with chemotherapy. He wanted the newsletter to continue and directed how it should be done with his writings. This newsletter was reviewed by him in those sick days and finished on October 16, 2000. Here is the holy card from his funeral Mass. This picture of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was his favorite one. He said how it helped him to become closer to Jesus. It was on his ordination card and now on his obituary card.

18. The Three Classes of Men

    The Saint further assumes that what hinders the soul from finding God is some ill-regulated attachment—a "pondus," as he calls it, or dead weight — which holds back the soul from embracing God's will, or even recognizing it. Hence what the Exercises aim at primarily is to remove this "pondus" or attachment. For if this impediment is put out of the way the sincere soul will surely find God; that is, it will recognize and embrace the will of God for the right ordering of its life.

  

                Having inordinate attachments —
                    that one candy we hold onto
                    that keeps us from giving ourselves
                        to God and drives us away
                        from intimacy with God

                Addictive thinking
                Not taking care to treat the body
                    according to the natural law

                WILLFULNESS is going against
                    God's plan for us in anything

                Old tapes one plays in their own head
                    that keep them stuck long after
                    dad is gone

                    So the dysfunction, wounded person

                I have watched dysfunctions with

                    a person works against the natural
                    laws for maintaining one's body

                You need fuel to work
                You need rest to work
                The body has demands —
                To deny eating — is to hurt one's body
                To deny sleeping — is to hurt one's body
                To over indulge in drinking alcohol - is to hurt one's body

                Some people are always unsettled —
                    creating a crisis to have an
                    adrenalin rush

                I remembered in high school I asked
                    a boy to the prom —
                    then I got upset and asked somebody else
                    I had a mess in the end and stayed
                        home
                    I was not happy
                    I gave into the anger and acted in that
                        irrationally
                    I had a mess because of anger
                    I hurt myself
                    I hurt others
                    I didn't like it

                Having peace — is telling the truth —
                    it is never lying to manipulate
                    someone else

                Jesus is the way, the truth and the life —
                Self-destructive behaviors hurt us and
                    others —
                    - they come from seeking control over others —
                    - low self-esteem
                    - bad habits

                There can be layers and layers of bad
                    tapes learned at 4 years old
                    we are still playing years
                    later

                We must remove layers of self-
                    destructive patterns - to
                    be like Jesus and love God

                We can have a NEW SELF

                They have intimacy problems

                The more one lets go of hidden
                    pain — fears —
                    the more one lives and
                    feels now —
                    Good feelings - living life

                Rules in dysfunctional
                    alcoholic homes are
                    Don't talk
                    Don't feel
                    Don't trust

                Some men so afraid of a powerful
                    woman — afraid she will
                    get over him —

                The stronger she gets —
                    the more he pushes her
                        down
                                    down

                I have this problem —
                    speaking to men
                    what God says

                He is powerful
                Many men don't like me
                    delivering a message
                    of authority from
                    Jesus —

                So they use means to push me
                    down - control me

                Jesus speaks here

                They are trying to push down

                Many shows say —

                Talking about God's will and
                Doing our own selfish will are
                2 separate things

                Doing our will and saying it it God's
                    when it offends God and is
                    against the natural law and
                    His commandments
                    offends God
                    Choose the prize — surrender to God

                That is the lesson —
                Not talking about it —
                Doing God's will takes discipline
                Doing God's will takes wanting to
                    serve God first —
                    not our selfish ways

                If we do what dysfunctional
                    parents did instead of
                    God's will —
                    We do what dysfunctional
                    parents did

                God the Father is Perfect
                Mary our Mother is Perfect
                Jesus came the Perfect Son
                    of the Father
                Adam and Eve was our parents

                As we go to the Church and
                    drink at the fountain
                    of life we are healed

                The merry-go-round of denial
                    keeps us stuck and hurts
                    everybody

                Holiness is the opposite
                    of rebelliousness

                Doing our will opposed to
                    God's is enslavement
                    to the devil

                BE HAPPY

                    (1) Obey God
                    (2) Your Goal is God
                    (3) Obey His commandments
                            Disobedience to the commandments
                                is rebellion and willfulness
                    (4) Holding onto inordinate attachments —
                            relationships against God's will
                                is from satan and giving into temptation
