R. Grace is such a gift. God gives to us
a sharing in His life in baptism. I love
the Eucharist – I love to be with the
Eucharist in Church. I love to be there.
R. We see that the Father, Son and Holy
Spirit live in the graced-baptized
soul. This indwelling of the
Trinity is such a gift. If I can meditate
on this, I can ponder what the beatific
vision is a little more.
I see our distorted vision –
Not seeing God as we should –
Not seeing others as we should
Not seeing ourselves as we should –
The Blue Books help us to see through God's
eyes.
The more I am abundantly filled
with God's grace, the clearer I can see
as God wants me to see –
To be likened to God –
IS TO LOVE –
God is love!!
We were created in His image and likeness!
I am so grateful for these writings about the
Love of Their Two Hearts.
I see God's love for us in coming to this
earth and taking flesh
John 3: 16
For this is how God loved the world:
he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him
may not perish
but may have eternal life.
R. God first loved us.
We respond to God's love –
We were created to know, love and serve God.
I am in awe at the gifts God gives to
us –
The gift of baptism –
The gift of the Eucharist –
The gift of the priest –
The gift of the sacraments –
I love the sacraments –
I love Jesus, I love Jesus, I love Jesus,
I love the Father and the Holy Spirit –
God dwells in my graced baptized soul –
God the Father created me –
I have a purpose –
I have a unique calling to help contribute
in salvation history –
God chose each one of us when He
created us.
Jesus died for us.
The Holy Spirit wants to fill us with the
fire of God's love –
The world is oh so hungry for love.
I love to think of the unity that is real –
beyond what we see –
we know unity and love in heaven –
the communion of the saints –
We can pray through their powerful
intercession.
We can pray for the souls in purgatory.
We can pray with the souls in purgatory.
Excerpt from Response in Christ by Fr. Edward Carter, S.J.
e) Relationship with Members of the Church
There is but one true Church of Christ. Yet this one Church has three different states of existence. There is the pilgrim Church, the Church of this world, composed of members who have received the grace of Christ and strive for its development. They have not yet obtained the goal of their efforts, as have the members of the heavenly Church, who enjoy God in eternal happiness. The Church suffering is an intermediate state of existence necessary for those who had not achieved the required purification as members of the pilgrim Church. Although there are these three phases of the Church’s existence, there is a profound union existing between all the members. All these members possess the same basic life of grace in Christ, and this common life establishes the most intimate bonds of love. In our preceding chapter, we discussed the pilgrim Church. Let us now consider the Church suffering and the heavenly Church.
The members of the Church suffering are those who have departed from this life in an incomplete state of Christian development. Their development is incomplete in the sense that grace has not fully taken possession of them, and, as a result, they are yet closed in upon themselves to a greater or lesser degree. They as yet cannot open themselves out in complete love to the Triune God in the beatific vision. They must undergo a further purification, a purification which could have been achieved upon earth with merit. Now the purification must be achieved with no merit attached. The pain of this purification is mixed with the certain expectation of achieving the vision of God. We can hasten the advent of this vision for this people by the offering of prayers and other good works. Scripture itself refers to our action on behalf of those in purgatory in Chapter 12 of the Second Book of Maccabees beginning with verse 38.
The members of the heavenly Church are those in whom the life of grace has taken full possession and has reached its completion in the life of glory. Faith now is unnecessary, as the light of glory gives the human intellect a new strength and capacity for seeing God face-to-face. While the Christian was a wayfarer, he received the imprint of the indwelling Trinity as he shared in God’s own life. Now in heaven that grace-life and possession of God reaches its completion—the absolute completion is not achieved, however, until the resurrection of the body. The divine persons give Themselves to the beatified in a profound union far surpassing that of the indwelling of the Trinity experienced here below.
This life of heaven is still the Christ-life, for just as we possess a share in Trinitarian life here below as mediated by Christ, and exercise this grace-life as structured by Him, so also in heaven is the mediation of Christ present. In the words of Rahner, "One always sees the Father through Jesus. Just as immediately as this, for the directness of the vision of God is not a denial of the mediatorship of Christ as man."14 And not only does the humanity of Christ unite the blessed to God, but also, in some way, to the whole of creation. This is merely a completion of what is begun here below, namely, the union with Christ in His humanity establishing the Christian in a special relationship with God, with other men, and with the whole of creation. We have a glimpse, therefore, of the fullness of life which members of the heavenly Church possess.
The heavenly Church, as St. Thomas says, is the true Church.15 The Church of this earth and the Church of purgatory are, each in its own way, reaching out in loving hope for the heavenly Jerusalem. Vatican II puts it very simply: "The Church, to which we are called in Christ Jesus, and in which we acquire sanctity through the grace of God, will attain her full perfection only in the glory of heaven."16
The members of the heavenly Church can help us in living our life of grace until we too share its fullness with them. Their power of intercession on our behalf is but another ramification of the communal aspect of Christianity. We are meant to help others grow in Christ. We, in turn, are intended by God to receive aid from others—yes, from members of the heavenly Church, as well as from those with whom we dwell here below.
Not only can we be aided by the saints’ intercession, but the example of the canonized saints can also be of great value to us. They have concretely proved that full holiness is possible. Such an inspiration is of real worth when we are tempted to think that Christian sanctity in its higher degrees is impossible of attainment. Moreover, the canonized saints, in their diversity, teach us that there are many authentic versions of Christian holiness. They can be innovators in showing us that there are numerous possibilities in assimilating the mystery of Christ, although the basic assimilation remains the same for all Christians of all times. In the opinion of Rahner this is one of the chief roles the canonized saints exert in the life of the Church.17

John 10: 16
And there are other sheep I have
that are not of this fold,
and I must lead these too.
They too will listen to my voice,
and there will be only one flock,
one shepherd.
R. We live the life, death and resurrection of
Christ is our lives –
Acts 2: 3-4
and there appeared to them tongues as of fire; these separated and came to rest on the head of each of them. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak different languages as the Spirit gave them power to express themselves.
1 Corinthians 15: 54-58
And after this perishable nature has put on imperishability and this mortal nature has put on immortality, then will the words of scripture come true: Death is swallowed up in victory. Death, where is your victory? Death, where is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin comes from the Law. Thank God, then, for giving us the victory through Jesus Christ our Lord.
So, my dear brothers, keep firm and immovable, always abounding in energy for the Lord’s work, being sure that in the Lord none of your labours is wasted.
John 16: 12-15
I still have many things to say to you
but they would be too much for you
to bear now.
However, when the Spirit of truth comes
he will lead you to the complete truth,
since he will not be speaking
of his own accord,
but will say only what he has been told;
and he will reveal to you
the things to come.
He will glorify me,
since all he reveals to you
will be taken from what is mine.
Everything the Father has is mine;
that is why I said:
all he reveals to you
will be taken from what is mine.
Sing: One Bread, One Body
John 14: 15-16, 23-26
If you love me
you will keep my commandments.
I shall ask the Father,
and he will give you another Paraclete
to be with you for ever,
Jesus replied:Anyone who loves me will keep my word,
and my Father will love him,
and we shall come to him
and make a home in him.
Anyone who does not love me
does not keep my words.
And the word that you hear
is not my own:
it is the word of the Father who sent me.
Pentecost
May 15, 2005
– (Acts 2:1-11, 1 Corinthians 12:3b-7, 12-13, John 20:19-23) Pentecost is one of the three most important feasts of the Church year. We know Christmas is one of the three. It’s easy to get excited about the birth of a baby, especially when the baby is God’s Son and his mother is the Virgin Mary. We know the feast of Jesus’ resurrection is the most important feast of all, because if there were no resurrection, we would have no faith or hope at all. But Pentecost, the third most important feast, seems like another ordinary Sunday.HOMILY
Let me give you a little history of Pentecost. It was not invented by the Church. The Jews were celebrating Pentecost 3000 years ago. It was one of their three most important feasts. It was originally a harvest feast on which the first fruits were offered in gratitude to God. It later came to be celebrated as the anniversary of the giving of the Law to Moses on Mt. Sinai. The word itself means simply 50th, the 50th day after Jewish Passover. The Jews were celebrating that feast when the Spirit came on Jesus’ followers. And so Pentecost is still celebrated, but we who are Christians celebrate it as the day on which God sent his Holy Spirit upon the Church.
Pentecost isn’t just the celebration of a past event. It is important for us today, because the Holy Spirit is important for us today. The Spirit is hard to picture because the Spirit is within us when we are in God’s grace. The Spirit is like the air we breathe, the light that goes on when we have an idea, the fire that burns in our heart. And so the Scriptures use these symbols help us know the Spirit; in the first reading the Spirit is a strong driving wind whereas in John’s gospel the Spirit is the gentle breath of Jesus who breathes on his apostles and says “Receive the Holy Spirit.” In either case the Spirit is like the air, unable to be seen, but something we cannot live without. The Spirit is like the light that goes on in our mind when we have an idea: Jesus tells us in the gospel “he will guide you to all truth.” Jesus couldn’t explain everything to the apostles that he wanted them to know, but the Spirit turned on the light in their minds to be able to understand all that he had been teaching them. The Spirit also appeared to the apostles as tongues of fire, a fire that started burning in them to proclaim Christ with courage and conviction.
When we pray, the Spirit is at work in us, helping us to pray. God wants us to know him and love him and the Spirit helps us to do that. But because the Spirit works within us, we are not aware the Spirit is even there. There was a example given by C.S. Lewis about how we grow in knowledge of the universe around us. If we want to know something about rocks, for example, we go and we find rocks. They won’t come to us, they won’t run away from us. In no way do they cooperate with us in getting to know them. The initiative is all on our side if we are to know rocks. If we want to study wild animals, that’s a little different. We have to go find them and then they can run away from us. We have to be very quiet in observing them or they will. The initiative is mostly on our part if we are to know about wild animals, but they can attempt to prevent us from knowing them. If we want to know another human being, and they are determined for us not to know them, we probably won’t. We have to win their confidence if they are going to open up to us. The initiative is equally divided: it takes two to make a friendship. When it comes to God, there is no way we could find him or know him if he didn’t show himself to us. And he has done so in Jesus Christ. But we cannot not know Jesus Christ without the help of the Spirit. As Paul tells us in today’s second reading: “No one can say Jesus is Lord except in the Holy Spirit.” Without the Spirit God is really unknown to us. …” The Spirit makes us constantly aware of God’s presence with us and God’s love for us. The Spirit helps the Scriptures come alive for us because through them God speaks to us.
And this relationship with God spills over into everything else we do. And so St. Paul tells us in Galatians: if we live by the Spirit, the Spirit will produce in us love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control.” Most of us also are familiar with Paul’s description of the greatest gift of the Spirit: “I may be able to speak the languages of men and even angels, but if have not love, my speech is no more than a noisy gong or a clanging bell…Love is patient and kind, love is not jealous, etc, etc.
One last point: it was on the Church, that God sent his Spirit. As the first reading tells us Christ followers were all together in one place. And the Spirit gives different gifts to different members of the Church to help each other to know and experience God and God’s love. If we want to experience the fullness of the Spirit, we need each other, we need to come together, to worship together, to share our gifts with one another. Without the Spirit we are trying to breathe without air, think without light, love without fire.
Sing: I Am the Bread of Life

A Prayer before the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass
Let me be a holy sacrifice and unite with God in the sacrament of His greatest love.
I want to be one in Him in this act of love, where He gives Himself to me and I give myself as a sacrifice to Him. Let me be a holy sacrifice as I become one with Him in this my act of greatest love to Him.
Let me unite with Him more, that I may more deeply love Him. May I help make reparation to His adorable Heart and the heart of His Mother, Mary. With greatest love, I offer myself to You and pray that You will accept my sacrifice of greatest love. I give myself to You and unite in Your gift of Yourself to me. Come and possess my soul.
Cleanse me, strengthen me, heal me. Dear Holy Spirit act in the heart of Mary to make me more and more like Jesus.
Father, I offer this my sacrifice, myself united to Jesus in the Holy Spirit to You. Help me to love God more deeply in this act of my greatest love.
Give me the grace to grow in my knowledge, love and service of You and for this to be my greatest participation in the Mass. Give me the greatest graces to love You so deeply in this Mass, You who are so worthy of my love.

Mother's Day May 14, 1995
Excerpts from May 14, 1995 Rosary
Mary is Crowned as Queen of Heaven and Earth
7. Jesus: The Plan of the Father is unfolding. You are the threads in this tapestry. You, I send into this world. You will receive an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Pray, pray, pray! Baptize men in the Holy Spirit. Get all to pray daily to the Holy Spirit, for He will transform the hearts that are filled with fear to fearlessness. He will sanctify their hearts and make them whole. I am Jesus. I remain with you in the Tabernacle waiting and longing for your precious love. I will fill your hearts with the fire of My love and the Father will be with you, My beloved ones, the more you unite to Me. Come and be one in Me. Pray for union. Heaven is given to those who love and serve the Lord!
The Descent of the Holy Spirit
10. Jesus: I want hearts that are filled with fire for love of Me for I remain a prisoner in the Tabernacle waiting the love of My precious souls. You are My lights that I send into the darkened world. Come to Me and I will fill you with My grace and you will light up the dark world. You are the City set on a Hill that will shine to this world. Pray to the Spirit, My beloved ones, pray to the Spirit to come more and more to this Center.
8. Jesus: May the fire of My Sacred Heart burn ever brighter in your hearts. May it radiate from your being. May you be a light on every path that you walk. May you know more and more My dear Mother, forever by your side, guiding you and protecting you with her mantle. As you walk your path, you are guided, you are protected, you are loved. My beloved ones, you are My lights that will shine to this world.
The Ascension
5. R. Jesus is waiting and waiting. The indifference, neglect and sacrileges committed against Him in the Blessed Sacrament wounded His aching Heart. Jesus loves His precious souls to come. The Eucharist is the sacrament of His greatest love. Jesus remains in His Divinity and humanity. Jesus showers His abundant grace on His precious souls.
6. R. Outpour your precious life on us. We long to be saturated with your life, to be one in You. As we sit here in front of the Tabernacle, let us know Your presence, for You are no less present in this room than the day You walked on the earth. We beg You for Your precious grace, Your precious life to fill us.
7. R. Jesus gives us a sharing in His life in baptism. In Baptism, He elevates our knowing and loving capacity.
Song: I Am the Bread of Life
8. R. Jesus asks us to help make reparation to Him by sitting in front of the Tabernacle. To make reparation for the souls that treat Him with neglect and indifference. His Heart was wounded and He longs and thirsts and waits and waits and waits for souls to come.

Jesus: Obedience to God's will, to
superiors brings down favors from
God. I came and I showed you the way
how I obeyed My heavenly Father.
There is a soul at the edge of
death this moment. They could have
been as God wanted them to be. They
could have rebelled against the Plan
of the Father most of their life.
From the Our Father
... Thy will be done on earth
as it is in heaven.
When people operate in the
Father's will together there
is harmony and work is
accomplished for the
building of My Kingdom.
When one operates as he should
and another operates in
conflict there is conflict,
rebellion, hardship.
Sin is disorder – it is opposition
to the will of God –
A person sinning does not see the
full effects of how it
hurts their own spiritual
growth and hurts others and
offends God.
Not doing what is your responsibility
and stopping work needed to be
accomplished is acting –
Such behavior is rebellious behavior
when one knows their responsibility
and chooses to hold back and
affect others, with work I
want accomplished for the building of
the Kingdom.
If one does sin, if one repents, they
are willing to try to make up for
the damage done because of
their sin.
A person who disobeys is prideful,
they raise themselves and their
will over the one over them.
Eve in the garden disobeyed
God's commands. Her sin was a sin
of pride.
If a person is disobedient in
small things, they can disobey
in big things.
When I asked women and men
to marry in love – they are forced
to work with each other to
have a successful relationship.
Then if children come, they work in the
small community, balancing what
must be done.
In homes where people did not work
together - children at the earliest
age are taught conflict, power - games,
where there was to be harmony and
love, giving and taking - solving
the problem to win.
A person in a dysfunctional family
can be taught games of holding
out, making others suffer,
control games, selfishness.
The higher realms of learning to be in
the image of God are not even
present, as people who learned
selfishness and control teach
children not to live in love,
not to be more perfected in God.
Notice how Adam and Eve were created –
Genesis 1: 26-27
God said, ‘Let us make man in our own image, in the likeness of ourselves, and let them be masters of the fish of the sea, the birds of heaven, the cattle, all the wild animals and all the creatures that creep along the ground.’
God created man in the image of himself,
in the image of God he created him,
male and female he created them.
Jesus: in the image of God –
And in Genesis 3 - the Fall of Man
because of pride.
They were given so many gifts
from a good and loving God and
Eve disobeyed.
Eve wanted to be equal to God.
There is disorder because of the
sin of Adam and Eve.
There is the wounding with regard to
justice.
Justice means we give to God what is His due –
Putting God first, above everything
in one's life.
Seeing your brothers in love and not
jealousy and pride and envy and anger –
Disorder - many just see what they
want and are used to and do not
want to change -
So these are the rules they operate
by –
They operate out of disorder because
they don't want to change –
Even when they may be told of
the disorder - they willingly
continue it because they do not
want to change and the result is
disorder –
They can force this disordered behavior
on others through means they
use – passive-aggressive,
anger, holding-out, punishment
on those trying to
change the disorder –
This is how satan uses people to cause
disorder and problems. A person
can be set in their disordered
thinking and at any expense they
force it on others.
Adam and Eve sinned in the garden, but
all humans, except Mary, were
born with original sin.
A person in living can implement disordered
behavior in their lives which
are vices and strong bad habits.
A habit becomes almost natural
to a person without much thought
like tying one's shoes.
Good habits are virtues. Praying to God
to increase in us the virtues
of faith, hope and love.
I give grace to increase the
virtue of love in you.
Praying to be loving and to respond to
this grace is necessary, for man has
a free will to reject the grace and continue
his life being unloving if he had bad
unloving habits.
Living in a married relationship is
to help men to live and learn to love
one another.
In some homes love was not
taught to children, as parents - one or
both refused to live in love in the
marriage contract.
Loving takes grace –
Loving takes sacrifice and effort –
Working on unity does not happen
when one forces disordered
behavior on all.
When one sins they are to be sorry with
a contrite heart –
make amends for their behavior –
Because of pride - many men give
false information to another
just because they like
looking more intelligent than others –
A man must seek God's will, not his own
glorification, vanity –
God made them male and female –
Men and women are different –
They are to work in love –
Some children were taught to fear the
opposite sex because of
their parents' unordered, unholy behavior
I am watching you and loving you.
You were created by God –
Your goal is to be happy in heaven.
Doing God's will is ultimately the
prescription for happiness.
God is love.
You are to be more and more in My
image and likeness –
Men forcing their disorder on others
because they don't want to
change - block the work
of My Kingdom.
You were created to know, love
and serve God –
Be instruments of love –
Help build the Kingdom of God –
A person who is fearful can operate
with fear as their goal
A person rooted in God operates according
to God's will –
You are to make recompense
for your past sins and
live in love – under God
as your Master.

Guiding Light
- Reflect on the Word
Guiding Light homily series - Reflect on the Word - Cycle
B — The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and
reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal
concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a
sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this
day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We
believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as
priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and
Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our
congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand.

Guiding Light homily series - Steadfast to the Son - Cycle A — The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $15 | ||

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul - Cycle C — In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $15 |
Guiding Light - Focusing on the Word - Cycle B — At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $15 |

Guiding Light - The Word Alive in Our Hearts. - Cycle A (partial) — Homilies by the Reverend Joe Robinson given at St. Boniface Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is a tremendous honor Fr. Joe has allowed us to share these great gifts with you – for greater holiness and knowing more and more about God. $10 |
