Revelation 10: 8-11

Then I heard the voice I had heard from heaven speaking to me again. 'Go', it said, 'and take that open scroll from the hand of the angel standing on sea and land.' I went to the angel and asked him to give me the small scroll, and he said, 'Take it and eat it; it will turn your stomach sour, but it will taste as sweet as honey.' So I took it out of the angel's hand, and I ate it and it tasted sweet as honey, but when I had eaten it my stomach turned sour. Then I was told, 'You are to prophesy again, this time against many different nations and countries and languages and kings.'

Psalm 119: 14, 24, 72, 103, 111, 131

In the way of your instructions lies my joy,
a joy beyond all wealth.

Your instructions are my delight,
your wishes my counsellors.

The Law you have uttered is more precious to me
than all the wealth in the world.
How pleasant your promise to my palate,
sweeter than honey in my mouth!

Your instructions are my eternal heritage,
they are the joy of my heart.

I open wide my mouth
panting eagerly for your commandments.

Luke 19: 45-48

Then he went into the Temple and began driving out those who were busy trading, saying to them, 'According to scripture, my house shall be a house of prayer but you have turned it into a bandits' den.' He taught in the Temple every day. The chief priests and the scribes, in company with the leading citizens, tried to do away with him, but they could not find a way to carry this out because the whole people hung on his words.

Revelation 1: 9-13, 17-19

I, John, your brother and partner in hardships, in the kingdom and in perseverance in Jesus, was on the island of Patmos on account of the Word of God and of witness to Jesus; it was the Lord’s Day and I was in ecstasy, and I heard a loud voice behind me, like the sound of a trumpet, saying, ‘Write down in a book all that you see, and send it to the seven churches of Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea.’ I turned round to see who was speaking to me, and when I turned I saw seven golden lamp–stands and, in the middle of them, one like a Son of man, dressed in a long robe tied at the waist with a belt of gold.

When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead, but he laid his right hand on me and said, ‘Do not be afraid; it is I, the First and the Last; I am the Living One, I was dead and look—I am alive for ever and ever, and I hold the keys of death and of Hades. Now write down all that you see of present happenings and what is still to come.

John 10: 27-30

    The sheep that belong to me
         listen to my voice;
    I know them and they follow me.
    I give them eternal life;
    they will never be lost
    and no one will ever steal them
        from my hand.
    The Father, for what he has given me,
        is greater than anyone,
    and no one can steal anything
        from the Father’s hand.
    The Father and I are one.

                R. Little scroll was already opened
                    John could read it –
                    It would taste good at first –
                    Then it would sour in the stomach.

When we hear God's word it is a joy –
we hear it, this gives us hope –

                But it isn't easy to forgive, to not give into
                    temptation. It is difficult being a Christian
                    and being martyred when that happens.
                    It takes sacrifice and work.

Revelation 2: 4-5

Nevertheless, I have this complaint to make: you have less love now than formerly. Think where you were before you fell; repent, and behave as you did at first, or else, if you will not repent, I shall come to you and take your lamp–stand from its place.

R. We know God will turn all things
in the end to good if we persevere.

R. Jesus was going to Jerusalem –

10 Chapters –

                He goes in the temple not pleased how
                    business is going on –
                    they made the temple a den of
                    thieves – The sellers were
                    taking advantage of the selling in
                    the temple – people can take
                    advantage of God's work for sin –

                Like being a leader and using one's position
                    to force anger and disobedience
                    to rules upon them.

                A person coming from Galilee could not bring
                    animals for a 3 day trip –
                    So the animals were sold for sacrifice
                        at the temple.
                    Jesus was angry at what they did in
                        the temple.
                    Jesus chased them all out –
                    Jesus told them His house is a
                        house of prayer –

                We have come to this house to pray –
                    Jesus called us to worship and do
                    what we are to do in honoring
                    Him in the house of prayer –

Nuns, priests who are to be an example are
to serve the Church –

A leader to follow Jesus –

                Can you feel good
                    when you
                    are rebelling
                    against God?

Matthew 12: 25-37

‘Make a tree sound and its fruit will be sound; make a tree rotten and its fruit will be rotten. For the tree can be told by its fruit. You brood of vipers, how can your speech be good when you are evil? For words flow out of what fills the heart. Good people draw good things from their store of goodness; bad people draw bad things from their store of badness. So I tell you this, that for every unfounded word people utter they will answer on Judgement Day, since it is by your words you will be justified, and by your words condemned.’

R. Lord have mercy on us for our unkindness –
Help us to be kind and loving –

Christ have mercy on us
Lord have mercy on us

                Father help us to share Your gifts to us in
                    loving service of You and others –
                    God help us – Help us to do our work to
                        please You –

Leviticus 26: 4-5

I shall give you the rain you need at the right time; the soil will yield its produce and the trees of the countryside their fruit; you will thresh until vintage time and gather grapes until sowing time. You will eat your fill of bread and live secure in your land.

R. Pour Your rain God on Your people –
Rain of love –

God is trustworthy and He is full of mercy.

Rain down love on us God –

We love You –

Outpour Your love on us, God.

Matthew 18: 20

Prayer in common

'In truth I tell you once again, if two of you on earth agree to ask anything at all, it will be granted to you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three meet in my name, I am there among them.'

Luke 17: 11-19

Now it happened that on the way to Jerusalem he was travelling in the borderlands of Samaria and Galilee. As he entered one of the villages, ten men suffering from a virulent skin–disease came to meet him. They stood some way off and called to him, ‘Jesus! Master! Take pity on us.’ When he saw them he said, ‘Go and show yourselves to the priests.’ Now as they were going away they were cleansed. Finding himself cured, one of them turned back praising God at the top of his voice and threw himself prostrate at the feet of Jesus and thanked him. The man was a Samaritan. This led Jesus to say, ‘Were not all ten made clean? The other nine, where are they? It seems that no one has come back to give praise to God, except this foreigner.’ And he said to the man, ‘Stand up and go on your way. Your faith has saved you.’

                R. 10 men had leprosy – that is a skin disease - it is all
                    through the body – soon you can lose 1 finger,
                    or 2 fingers or 1 toe – pretty awful and contagious –
                    They couldn't live with family they
                    were isolated – Jesus came by them.

                Jesus gave them a test – He healed them – told
                    themselves to see the priest –
                    As they went to see the priest the disease
                        went away for the 10 men.

Jesus said weren't 10 made clean –
Isn't that how things are today –

Out of 10 people maybe only 1
will go to Mass –

                We have so much to be thankful for –
                    What you have
                    What was given to you when you
                        were born –
                    We had people to take care of us,
                        love us, cloth us, feed us –

People want to be happy –

                    If you really want to be happy
                        the way to start is to be
                        grateful because God is
                        so good to us –

R. We pray our hearts will reach out to
others –

                    We pray for each other,
                    We pray for the sick –
                    We pray for Fr. Joe,
                    We pray for a special friend of mine
                        Dan, that he gets better.

                We pray to You Lord – We thank You for the
                    gifts You give us with grateful hearts –
                    help our response to be generous.

Lord, teach me to be generous.
