Prayer for Grace for our Country
Dear Father united to Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Sacrifice of Calvary sacramentally made present, celebrated around the world, in the Holy Spirit. We offer up all we do united to the Mass. We unite in one mind and one heart as members of the mystical body of Christ, with Christ our head in the pure and holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary, through the powerful intercession of Mary with all the angels and saints and souls in purgatory, and we beg for the saving grace, for our country, the United States. Please help us. We further pray for unity to always do the will of God in love. We spread the Blood of Jesus on the leaders and people of the United States and cast the devil into hell. We consecrate our country to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and all our dioceses, and beg for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God help us. We pray for our families, the priests, the Church and the world. In the Name of Jesus please hear us, we pray. We pray for our old president as he leaves office and our new president as he takes office.
November 21, 2016 - Memorial of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Today's Readings
Revelation 14: 1-3, 4-5
Next in my vision I saw Mount Zion, and standing on it the Lamb who had with him a hundred and forty–four thousand people, all with his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads. I heard a sound coming out of heaven like the sound of the ocean or the roar of thunder; it was like the sound of harpists playing their harps. There before the throne they were singing a new hymn in the presence of the four living creatures and the elders, a hymn that could be learnt only by the hundred and forty–four thousand who had been redeemed from the world. These are the sons who have kept their virginity and not been defiled with women; they follow the Lamb wherever he goes; they, out of all people, have been redeemed to be the first–fruits for God and for the Lamb. No lie was found in their mouths and no fault can be found in them.
Psalm 24: 1-6
To Yahweh belong the earth and all it contains,
the world and all who live there;
it is he who laid its foundations on the seas,
on the flowing waters fixed it firm.Who shall go up to the mountain of Yahweh?
Who shall take a stand in his holy place? The clean of hands and pure of heart,
whose heart is not set on vanities,
who does not swear an oath in order to deceive.Such a one will receive blessing from Yahweh,
saving justice from the God of his salvation.
Such is the people that seeks him,
that seeks your presence, God of Jacob. Pause
Matthew 24: 42, 44
'So stay awake, because you do not know the day when your master is coming.
Therefore, you too must stand ready because the Son of man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
Luke 21: 1-4
Looking up, he saw rich people putting their offerings into the treasury: and he noticed a poverty-stricken widow putting in two small coins, and he said, 'I tell you truly, this poor widow has put in more than any of them; for these have all put in money they could spare, but she in her poverty has put in all she had to live on.'
R. Life is short. We must face this
reality how short life really is. We
are given so many signs to prepare
and focus on God and eternity and
we can ignore the cold, hard facts
how short life really is. We think
it won't happen to us.
God has called us to love Him with
our whole heart, our whole soul,
our whole being and to live by His plan.
God really is ultimately in charge. We
are under Him. He is our ruler.
Life goes on in petty pace Jesus
would always say. What does that
mean?
We are called to embrace the reality
of the things that are alive and then
they die. It can be a process just to
learn this truth, we can ignore it
and never let go of things here – we
can pray for God's grace to live every
moment as He wants us to, the best
way we can and prepare for our
true home in heaven.
The world is teaching many, many
bad lessons, that we can ignore God
and live for this world.
We are to teach the truth of this
reality how really short life is.
Things may change around us,
electronics, cars, cell phones,
computers, televisions we may
even struggle to operate, but the
basic rules God gave us never will
change. We are here for only so long
and our true home is in heaven.
Life may be likened to a flower that
grows. It may start as a seed and
then grow a little more and a little
more and flower so beautiful and
have its day – and then die.
No matter how much we want
to never leave this earth or want
our own way we can't have it –
permanently – no matter how we
manipulate things and try to get
power – God has all the power
and we can't live in this
world forever.
Our lives are a mystery and
God knows all things. God
is Divine and we are human –
we must see through the
eyes of God – His plan for us –
if we want to please Him – we
live by His plan and we seek
His plan to live by –
Reality and truth are found in God.
God is absolute truth – we go to
God to know the truth – God
gives us the commandments and
His Word and the Church.
We have a free will to obey
God or to disobey Him and
try to live running the show
in our lives –
This is God's world – He is
the Creator and we are the
creatures – and we are to
live to please Him as our ruler.
God is Divine and God created the
world and its creatures. God gave
us order, God is the Divine architect –
Our purpose here is to get closer
to God, we were created in the
image and likeness of God –
this is reality – Our lives are to
grow to be more perfect as
Our heavenly Father is perfect.
This is our goal!
We look at God's creation in
this world and we know Him
more and more as we look with
open eyes. God is Divine.
God is love. God is infinite
goodness. Happiness is found in
embracing the truth and living
to please God.
We are restless until we
rest in Him. We are God's
and we belong to Him. Our
mind here cannot even comprehend
the mystery of God's goodness to
us in loving us as He does. We
were created in God's great love
for us.
We see how a child is born
and the mother and father can
bring that child into the world
with God in an act of love –
Do we see we were created
because God loves us?
We cannot even comprehend all
there is to know here on earth.
In the beginning God created
heaven and earth from nothing!
God has given us so much we
do not even understand. So much
to use in this world for our life.
The other day, my brother used
the lepers scripture at a Thanksgiving
Mass for children. 10 lepers were
cured, but only one returned to say
thanks.
How are we even going to Mass
on Sunday to say thanks. Out of
10 baptized Catholics, how many
do you think come to Mass.
God must always be first
in our lives. When we do
something wonderful with our
talents we must realize His
hand in it.
Some day we will be laid
to rest on this earth and our
days here will be over, but we can
go on forever in our heavenly
home if we loved and served
the Lord.
Can we see the beauty of
God's creation, the beauty of
the earth – watch a little baby
learn to eat and walk and
talk, go to school, marry,
have children and then grandchildren
of their own and then die and
not see the hand of God in
the lives of the faithful to
bring forth such fruit for the Kingdom.
Life is but a breath, we
flower and we fade –
Our lives are in His hands!
We are dependent on God –
How can anyone choose
independence and power
for themselves over God?
God really creates the infant
in the womb, parents stand
in awe at the gift given
through them if they embrace
reality!
We see love in the birth of
a child. We see a beginning –
we watch a child grow –
we are amazed at the growth!
Man has been given a free will,
an intellect, a heart –
given by God for His
purpose –
Why would man not want
to give thanksgiving to God
for all he has been given.
In the Blue Books Jesus has
outpoured such gifts of
wisdom and love, why do
so few not recognize the gift
God has given.
Thanksgiving is about
telling God – thanks for all
He has given to us and living
our lives loving – Giving to
God and to others –
This is reality – God
commands us to love.
Life is so short.
Song: Live This Day
From a Lenten Homily, March 24, 2000 Live in the Moment
Today’s Gospel in its story certainly points ahead to Jesus in His Passion
and death. And as we read passages such as this during the Lenten season, we
are reminded once again that the Church in her Liturgy of the Word gives us
an opportunity to undergo a purification, an ever deepening cleansing of
ourselves so that we may be a more fit instrument for receiving the great
graces which are to be given to us at the time of the Resurrection memorial
on Easter. And so all in all, Lent is a time of purification to prepare us
for ever-greater gifts of the Lord. It’s a time of self-discipline, a time
to renew our efforts to be self-disciplined in the service of the Lord.
Self-discipline is an aspect of purification. And I suggest that one of the
most difficult acts of self-discipline in the spiritual journey is to
concentrate on the present moment. We have a very strong tendency to
disregard the importance of the present moment by focusing in a wrong way on
the past or in a wrong way on the future. There are proper occasions for
thinking of the past and the future. For example, we have to learn from the
past and we have to prepare for the future, but our great emphasis has to be
upon the present. There is a Latin axiom which says, age quod agis, age
quod agis, which means: do what you are doing, concentrate on the
present. And of course we are familiar with that term in the history of
spirituality: the sacrament of the present moment. And so the discipline of
Lent certainly encourages us to include in a deeper self-discipline a
greater determination to get as much as we can out of the present moment.
People with a terminal illness have an opportunity as they prepare for death
for increased prayer, contrition, love of God. However, some are taken very,
very quickly. But for those who have the opportunity of knowing with some
certainty the time of their death, I’m sure as they look back on their
lives, they are saddened by the many times they did not use time and
opportunities for the service of the Lord properly, and are overjoyed at
those times in which they did use the present opportunity properly. A great
means we have of living in the present properly is a greater focus upon our
Lord. For if I have that awareness of the fact I am united with Jesus here and now, why should I be concerned so much
about the future or the past? Yes, a great help in living in the present and
deriving all the good we can from it for ourselves and others is an ever
greater focus upon Jesus, because the more I focus upon Jesus and the more I
live with Him in the present moment, the more I am satisfied with the present
moment. And so let us in our Lenten activity resolve to grow in that
self-discipline - which is very difficult at times - to really live in the
presence with the fullness of our being as much as is possible, with the help
of God’s grace. Now is the day of salvation. Now is the day of salvation. end of Father Carter's homily
R. God gave Fr. Carter this message. July 31, 1994 Words of Jesus to
Members of "My beloved
priest-companion, I intend to use the priestly newsletter, Shepherds
of Christ, and the movement, Shepherds of Christ Associates,
in a powerful way for the renewal of My Church and the world. "I will use the newsletter
and the chapters of Shepherds of Christ Associates as a powerful
instrument for spreading devotion to My Heart and My Mother's Heart. "I am calling many to
become members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. To all of them
I will give great blessings. I will use them as instruments to help
bring about the triumph of the Immaculate Heart and the reign of My
Sacred Heart. I will give great graces to the members of Shepherds of
Christ Associates. I will call them to be deeply united to My Heart
and to Mary's Heart as I lead them ever closer to My Father in the Holy
Spirit." - Message from

one mind and one heart and ask the Holy Spirit
to come to all the world in a special way,
especially to our priests. We pray all prayers
for the priests and the renewal of the Church
and the world and for the Shepherds of Christ
intentions. By the precious Body and Blood of
Jesus we cast out Satan far from this place, our

Lady of the Holy Spirit Center, the Church and
the world. We ask the Blood of Jesus be spread
on us, the Shepherds of Christ Movement, Our
Lady of the Holy Spirit Center, the Church and
the world. We beg for grace and mercy for the
world and wish to make reparation to the Hearts
of Jesus and Mary. We give our hearts to Jesus
and Mary with all gathered here in love. We wish
to be forgiven for offending one another. We
love You God, help us. Sing
A Song from Jesus. Refrain: "I

Guiding Light homily series — Reflect on the Word — Cycle B The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand. $15 |
Guiding Light homily series — Steadfast to the Son — Cycle A The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $15 |
Guiding Light — Focusing on the Word — Cycle B At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $15 |
Guiding Light — Feed My Soul — Cycle C In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $15 |
Guiding Light — The Word Alive in Our Hearts. — Cycle A (partial) Homilies by the Reverend Joe Robinson given at St. Boniface Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is a tremendous honor Fr. Joe has allowed us to share these great gifts with you – for greater holiness and knowing more and more about God. $10 |

Priestly Newsletter — 2000 #1 — CD. — Christ is Our Strength — Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. read it the year he died. It is so beautiful. "This brief passage contains one of the greatest lessons of the spiritual life. As we progress along our spiritual journey, we become increasingly aware of how weak we are in our—selves, but how strong we are in Christ. To experience our weakness involves suffering. The degree and kind of suffering can vary. The suffering can include the experience of the classical dark night of the spirit as described by St. John of the Cross. One of the main purposes of the dark night is to make a person keenly aware of his or her helplessness without God." quote by Fr. Carter from the newsletter $10 |

Shepherds of Christ Prayer
Manual Shepherds of Christ Prayer Manual. The Shepherds of Christ has prayer chapters all over the world praying for the priests, the Church and the world. These prayers that Father Carter compiled in the summer of 1994 began this worldwide network of prayer. Currently the prayers are in eight languages with the Church’s Imprimatur. We have prayed daily for the priests, the Church, and the world since 1994. Associates are called to join prayer Chapters and help us circulate the newsletter centered on spreading devotion to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and helping to renew the Church through greater holiness. Please form a Prayer Chapter & order a Prayer Manual. |
