Please pray for Sheila.
Sheila died Monday night.
Sheila W.
Written January 14, 2000
Jesus has led me gently and gradually into closer union with Him through Shepherds of Christ. From the Prayer for Union that I found in church, to the first time I read a Blue Book, to my first 13th meeting, to starting a prayer chapter in my parish, He has patiently led me into doing things I didn’t know I could do.
I have loved Shepherds of Christ from the beginning because I have experienced Jesus' guidance in a special way.
And here I am, a Handmaid of the Good Shepherd, being a spouse of Jesus, loving and serving Him here in China, Indiana. For many years, I wanted to work for Jesus in the Church, but didn’t know how.
The daily Mass and holy hour were a part of my life before I knew about Shepherds of Christ or the Blue Books. Reading the Blue Book for the first time confirmed what I was already doing and gave me the direction on how to spend that hour with Jesus before the tabernacle.
During the last few years of my working days, I looked forward to the time off so I could spend it with Jesus before the tabernacle. I purposely did my housework during the weeknights so I could have Saturday totally free to spend with Him before the tabernacle.
So, to be here in China, where I can focus totally on Jesus, loving and adoring Him in the Eucharist, and helping to send out His newsletters and filling the orders, is a dream come true for me.
Being a handmaid has been a joy and a challenge. A joy to know this is God’s will for me and a challenge to change myself and to let go of the things I am attached to.
I am now sitting before Jesus, in the exposed Blessed Sacrament, and I am thankful to Him that He has fulfilled my heartfelt wish to be able to love and serve Him 24 hours a day and to adore Him in the Eucharist.
I am also grateful to Jesus for letting me work with the most selfless people who are in Shepherds of Christ. They are always willing to help me out when I need them and go the extra mile to make things easier for me. It is a blessing to be in this family called Shepherds of Christ.
I am also thankful for my friends back home who have been a great support to me, who have prayed for me and helped me to move to China.
On the 13ths, when everyone is gathered for the rosary here in China, I look at the people and I feel a connection in my heart to all of them, to my friends from Jasper and my Shepherds of Christ family and I thank Jesus for loving me through these beautiful people.
And I thank Jesus for leading me to the Shepherds of Christ and for teaching me so many things, especially how to be a better spouse of the Lamb. It is my heartfelt desire to be united with Him forever and He is continuing to lead me there a step at a time. I love Him with all my heart and I love the Shepherds of Christ Movement.

R. Jesus with a Heart of Divine Love,
Jesus who is love,
came among men to teach them His
way of love,
and the men of the earth did not
recognize what His message was.
So many today miss the message
of the Lord.
God is love and He emptied Himself
to His death on the cross to teach us
that love is not selfish, love gives.
Love puts God first, even when the
sacrifice is very great and hard on us.
Love looks to Jesus as the guide, the
teacher.
God is Mighty.
We must keep our eyes always on the
prize - that is Jesus - life eternal with
Jesus.
Jesus came with a kind and generous
Heart to show us how much He loves
us.
Love is giving and receiving.
Do we really receive this on-fire love
Jesus gives us?
This is what fills us when the world
is cold.
Jesus is the source, so we can love with
His Heart, see with His Heart and give
His love to others, so they know Him
and His generous love.
Jesus will never be outdone in generosity,
God is love.
Jesus came with a kind and generous
Heart to teach us how to love and to
bring this love to others.
We were created in the image and
likeness of Jesus. We were created by
God the Father, so unique, to bring
Jesus to the world.
Jesus is the source of our love.
This Christmas let us pray:
God I love You so much, dwell in me,
give me the grace I need most, so I
can be Your love working in me to
others and the Church and the world.
When the world is cold and uncaring,
selfish and what seems empty of love,
we are living more and more one with
Jesus - who fills us with burning love
to let His love shine through our
troubled souls, when we feel weary.
Come to me Lord, fill me now and
possess my soul, help me to pray and
love those in my life and in the world.
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I love
You so much, teach me to love.
Song: Teach Me to Love with Your Heart
R. A lesson to learn:
To give and to learn to receive Love.
Receive the love God gives us, so we
can more perfectly love as we should.
God is the source of love - open your
hearts to Him and be filled by the source.
God is Divine, All-Perfect love.
Jesus emptied Himself to teach us this
lesson.
Jesus gives us Divine love.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
God is love, go to Him to be filled
more and more.
I love You, most Sacred Heart of Jesus
and place my trust in Thee.
Amen.

Jesus: My love is ablaze for you.
My love is eternal.
R. Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place my
trust in Thee.
Come to me Lord and possess my soul.
I want to dwell in Thee.

We cannot close the door on the past, we
As in a business, the boss looks back and
sees how he did it before and tries to
improve it. He would never close the door
on past interactions and start everything
new. He can only build on the past so
the company can grow.
So too with our lives, we must look to our
past and embrace it to know it well,
it is the key to our happiness and growth.
We need to live a balanced life one side
is the thinking side and the other
side is the feeling side and expressive
side (expression of self), we need
both sides in balance.
Jesus:
I am the way, the truth and the lifeThe Our Father
Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed
be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy
will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread and
forgive us our trespasses as we forgive
those who trespass against us. And lead
us not into temptation, but deliver us
from evil. Amen.
R.
The truth shall set you free. I amJesus:
Be of a clean heart and you will notFor I say unto you, many are called
but few are chosen, it is up to you to follow
the path of right. You can do My will or
reject My will. My will is the WAY, the
TRUTH and the life. The way to a long
lived happy life and to experience life is
through the truth. The truth in all things.
Do unto others as you would want them
to do unto you. Love one another and
cherish your precious moments you
have together.
The gift of children are the great gifts
of all, in them is life and
love and innocence. Cherish these
years when they are young and teach them
honesty and truth at all cost, for you are
molding them to bear fruit. They are My
precious gifts to you to have and hold and
teach. Your example is the way you teach.
Each moment is precious to behold
because when it is over it is gone forever.
More precious than jewels are the moments
Make each moment precious, by loving
one another. God is first always – Before
anything else – any other order is OUT of
ORDER and does not work – any other
ORDER is not God’s order. His life is
simple – it is not confused,
it is simple LOVE AND TRUTH – these
are the jewels of each moment.
Do the will of God.
I am your God, you shall have
no other gods before me – not WEALTH,
FOOD, SEX, DRINK, I am your God
and I am first, when I am first, I give you
everything necessary to live. You are
working for Me, I will work in you, I will
make your life work, you let go and know
I am your captain. I love you and I know
what you need to make you happy. I
have your best interest at heart. Trust
in Me and come to Me and make your
ways, My ways. I love you more than
any other human person could love you.
I love you with My Divine Love. I am your
God and you are My precious creation, I
made you to love Me and love My other
I am your God, I hold your hand, I want
you to put your head in My lap and weep
and come to Me and tell Me of your joy,
I want you to be you, created by God, I am
there to listen and support and love you.
I am your best friend, and I love you more
than you can love yourself – trust Me with
your will and your life and I will make it
beautiful for you. Be happy and spread
your love to each other – the devil comes
with his lies. The devil says “You are not
enough, you didn’t do enough, you can’t
do it.” – I am your God, listen to Me not
the devil. Believe in your life living
according to your vocation for My honor
and glory. Don’t be jealous, angry, envious,
mean seeking dominance for dominance
sake –
Don’t be willful. Do God’s will with love.

Matthew 22: 36-40
'Master, which is the greatest commandment of the Law?' Jesus said to him, 'You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second resembles it: You must love your neighbour as yourself. On these two commandments hang the whole Law, and the Prophets too.'
Dear Holy Spirit,
strengthen our will and
move like a Divine breath in our soul, to
be docile sons and daughters of our
Heavenly Father. Amen.

Mysteries of Light
The Baptism of Jesus
1.
Matthew 3: 13-17
Then Jesus appeared: he came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptised by John. John tried to dissuade him, with the words, ‘It is I who need baptism from you, and yet you come to me!’ But Jesus replied, ‘Leave it like this for the time being; it is fitting that we should, in this way, do all that uprightness demands.’ Then John gave in to him. And when Jesus had been baptised he at once came up from the water, and suddenly the heavens opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming down on him. And suddenly there was a voice from heaven, ‘This is my Son, the Beloved; my favour rests on him.’

Excerpt from Response to God's Love by Fr. Edward Carter, S.J.
... In reference to Christianity, God himself is the ultimate mystery. Radically, God is completely other and transcendent, hidden from man in his inner life, unless he chooses to reveal himself. Let us briefly look at this inner life of God.
The Father, in a perfect act of self-expression, in a perfect act of knowing, generates his son. The Son, the Word, is, then, the immanent expression of God's fullness, the reflection of the Father. Likewise, from all eternity, the Father and the Son bring forth the Holy Spirit in a perfect act of loving.
At the destined moment in human history, God's self-expression, the Word, immersed himself into man's world. God's inner self-expression now had also become God's outer self-expression. Consequently, the mystery of God becomes the mystery of Christ. In Christ, God tells us about himself, about his inner life, about his plan of creation and redemption. He tells us how Father, Son, and Holy Spirit desire to dwell within us in the most intimate fashion, how they wish to share with us their own life through grace. All this he has accomplished and does accomplish through Christ. St. Paul tells us: "I became a minister of this Church through the commission God gave me to preach among you his word in its fullness, that mystery hidden from ages and generations past but now revealed to his holy ones. God has willed to make known to them the glory beyond price which this mystery brings to the Gentiles—the mystery of Christ in you, your hope of glory. This is the Christ we proclaim while we admonish all men and teach them in the full measure of wisdom, hoping to make every man complete in Christ" (Col 1:25-28).

3. Romans 1:22-32
While they claimed to be wise, in fact they were growing so stupid that they exchanged the glory of the immortal God for an imitation, for the image of a mortal human being, or of birds, or animals, or crawling things. That is why God abandoned them in their inmost cravings to filthy practices of dishonouring their own bodies- because they exchanged God's truth for a lie and have worshipped and served the creature instead of the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. That is why God abandoned them to degrading passions: why their women have exchanged natural intercourse for unnatural practices; and the men, in a similar fashion, too, giving up normal relations with women, are consumed with passion for each other, men doing shameful things with men and receiving in themselves due reward for their perversion. In other words, since they would not consent to acknowledge God, God abandoned them to their unacceptable thoughts and indecent behaviour. And so now they are steeped in all sorts of injustice, rottenness, greed and malice; full of envy, murder, wrangling, treachery and spite, libellers, slanderers, enemies of God, rude, arrogant and boastful, enterprising in evil, rebellious to parents, without brains, honour, love or pity. They are well aware of God's ordinance: that those who behave like this deserve to die -- yet they not only do it, but even applaud others who do the same.
4. Hebrews 1:1-2
At many moments in the past and by many means, God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets; but in our time, the final days, he has spoken to us in the person of his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things and through whom he made the ages.

By the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and [the intercession of] the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of Thee the conversion of poor sinners." (5)

The Transfiguration
1.
Mark 9: 2-8
Six days later, Jesus took with him Peter and James and John and led them up a high mountain on their own by themselves. There in their presence he was transfigured: his clothes became brilliantly white, whiter than any earthly bleacher could make them. Elijah appeared to them with Moses; and they were talking to Jesus. Then Peter spoke to Jesus, ‘Rabbi,’ he said, ‘it is wonderful for us to be here; so let us make three shelters, one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.’ He did not know what to say; they were so frightened. And a cloud came, covering them in shadow; and from the cloud there came a voice, ‘This is my Son, the Beloved. Listen to him.’ Then suddenly, when they looked round, they saw no one with them any more but only Jesus.

S.J.
Trust in Jesus
Jesus: “My beloved priest-companion, tell My people to trust Me unreservedly. I am Lord and Master. I am their God. So many fail to trust Me as they should. I love all My people much, much more than they love themselves. This great love of Mine should encourage the greatest trust. The more you realize how much a friend loves you, the more you place your trust in the friend. I am your perfect Friend! I love you infinitely more than your best earthly friend. Tell My people to give Me their trust. Tell them to say often, ‘Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in You.’ I am Lord and Master. Please do as I request.”
Reflection: How can we fail to trust Jesus, this Jesus Who has given His life for each of us? During His passion, He knew each of us by name. Today, He calls each of us, by name, to the refuge of His Sacred Heart. Today, He calls each of us, by name, to a greater trust in His Heart.
Prayer: Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in You.
The Institution of the Eucharist
1. Luke 22: 14-20
When the time came he took his place at table, and the apostles with him. And he said to them, ‘I have ardently longed to eat this Passover with you before I suffer; because, I tell you, I shall not eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.’ Then, taking a cup, he gave thanks and said, ‘Take this and share it among you, because from now on, I tell you, I shall never again drink wine until the kingdom of God comes.’
Then he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.’ He did the same with the cup after supper, and said, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood poured out for you.
2. From Tell My People by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J.
The Cross Leads to Life
Jesus: “My beloved priest-companion, tell My people that they must keep the lesson of the cross fresh in their consciousness. Remind them that I am the Christ of the Cross as well as the Christ of the Resurrection. I suffered tremendously on My way to death on the cross. My sacred flesh was so cruelly lacerated by the scourging. My sacred head was so cruelly and mockingly crowned with thorns. I was spat upon and made fun of. Exhausted by terrible suffering, I still had to carry the heavy cross to Calvary. There My sacred hands and feet were mercilessly pierced with nails. Oh, what pain this caused Me!
“I suffered all this most willingly—out of love for MyFather and for all My people! Through My cross, through My suffering, I obtained new life for My people. Through My cruel and brutal death, I achieved Resurrection for Myself and all My people. My suffering was not an end in itself. It was a necessary passageway to obtain the life I came to give.
“My people must share in My cross, so that they may share more and more in My life. Remind My people, My dear friend, that suffering, when embraced according to My Father’s will, leads to greater life here and hereafter. The cross, properly carried, always leads to a greater share in My Resurrection.
“Tell My people that the more they are united with Me in love, the easier is the carrying of the cross. The more one dwells in Me, the more I help that person to carry the cross. In this way, even the heaviest cross becomes relatively light.
“Carrying the cross does not mean to be in misery. Carrying one’s cross in union with Me always allows a person to remain in peace. The cross does not take away peace and joy. Despite the pain involved, the cross gives increased peace and joy. I am Lord and Master. I eagerly desire that all listen to My words and live them!
“My people, come each day to My Heart and I will give you the light and strength to carry your cross according to Father’s will! I love My people with an overwhelming love, and in this great love I give them this message.”
Reflection: One does not have to
reflect on the human condition for very long to be reminded of how much
suffering exists in all parts of the world. And yet, the great tragedy
concerning human suffering is not that there is so much of it, but
rather that so much of it is apparently wasted. In God’s plan, suffering
is meant to lead to greater life, a greater share in Christ’s
Resurrection here and hereafter. Suffering does just that, if we relate
to it according to God’s will. To the extent we don’t relate to the
cross as God’s will would have us, we miss th opportunity for suffering
to be growth-promoting. Jesus tells us about the cross and its linkage
to life in the Gospel: “Then to all he said: ‘If anyone wants to be a
follower of mine, let him renounce himself and take up hiscross everyday
and follow me. For anyone who wants to save his life will lose it; but
anyone who loses his life for my
sake, that man will save it’” (Luke 9:23-24).
And St. Paul tells us: “We are in difficulties on all sides, but never cornered; we see no answer to our problems, but never despair; we have been persecuted, but never deserted; knocked down, but never killed; always, wherever we may be, we carry with us in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus, too, may always be seen in our body” (2 Corinthians 4:8-10).
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we ask for the light and strength to cope with suffering according to Your will. Give us a great love for Christ crucified! Allow us to carry our cross with an ever greater love for God and neighbor! We make this petition in union with Jesus and Mary and in the Holy Spirit.
3. From Tell My People by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J.
Live Your Consecration
Jesus: “My beloved friend, I have taught you what is involved in living out your consecration to My Heart and to My Mother’s Heart. I have taught you to renew your consecration each day. I have led you to be aware of your consecration many times during the day. I have taught you to pray frequently during the day for the grace to grow in the life of consecration. I have impressed upon you that your consecration to Our Hearts includes your being aware of how much I and Mary love you! I have given you a great desire to respond to Our love. I have greatly increased your desire to love Me, the Father, the Holy Spirit, Mary, and all your fellow human beings! I have taught you that to grow in your consecration you must surrender more and more to My Heart and My Mother’s Heart—that you must give yourself completely to Us. And I have given you a great desire to do so! I have given you a great trust in Our Hearts. This trust is so important in making the act of consecration and living it.
“My beloved companion, tell My people about these lessons I have taught you. Lead them to consecrate themselves to My Sacred Heart and to Mary’s Immaculate Heart. Tell them of the great love, peace, and joy they will experience if they make this consecration and live it! I am Lord and Master. I urgently request that My people listen to My messages and live them! I love My people with a tremendous love, and, out of this love, I give My messages through you and others in these most critical times!”
Reflection: At Baptism we are consecrated to the Triune God. To consecrate means to make holy. At Baptism Father, Son, and Holy Spirit consecrate us with Their own holiness. This sharing in divine holiness is our life of grace.Through our Baptismal consecration we are called to live a God-like existence according to the teaching and example of Christ.
In our times, God has given us a most attractive way to live out our baptismal consecration—through consecration to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary. As we strive to give ourselves totally to Jesus each day with the assistance of Mary our Mother, Christ continues to lead us to the Father under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Yes, each moment of each day we are called to live our consecration. This is our privilege. This is our responsibility.
Prayer: Jesus, we ask for the grace to live our consecration as perfectly as possible each day. Inflame our hearts with ever greater love for You so that we may eagerly surrender ourselves to You more and more! In this way we will increasingly live out our consecration! In union with Mary, we ask You to take this petition to Your Heavenly Father in the Holy Spirit.
4. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
but he has answered me, 'My grace is enough for you: for power is at full stretch in weakness.' It is, then, about my weaknesses that I am happiest of all to boast, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me; and that is why I am glad of weaknesses, insults, constraints, persecutions and distress for Christ's sake. For it is when I am weak that I am strong.
5. From Tell My People by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J.
The Eucharist
Jesus: “My beloved priest-companion, tell My people how I long for them to come to Me in the Eucharist. The Eucharist is the great Sacrament of My love for My people. So many are indifferent to My Eucharistic presence. So many have no real desire to receive Me in the Eucharist. So many have no desire to visit Me in the Blessed Sacrament. How I long for My people to come before the tabernacle and to talk with Me!
“I am offended, many times seriously, by all the outrages, sacrileges, and indifferences committed against My Eucharistic presence. I ask My people to make reparation for all this. I especially ask that they often say the prayer of Eucharistic reparation given by the angel to the three Fatima visionaries.
“I am Lord and Master. Please do as I request. My Eucharistic Heart is beating with unfathomable love for My people! Let them come to My Sacred Heart. How I long to take My people to My Heart and shower them with Its abundant graces! I love My people with a tremendous love, and I give them this message with the greatest love!”
Reflection: Pope John Paul II has often expressed his belief in the importance of Fatima. It also appears that the Fatima prayer of Eucharistic reparation is meant in a most special way for the present times. Below is that prayer as taught to the Fatima children by the angel.
Prayer: Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, I adore You profoundly. I offer You the most precious Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges, and indifferences whereby He is offended. Through the infinite merits of His most Sacred Heart and the intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of You the conversion of poor sinners.
6. From Tell My People by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J.
The Present Moment
Jesus: “My beloved companion, tell My people to concentrate on living in the present moment. Tell them to depend on Me from moment to moment. My people should want to fill each moment with as great a love of God and neighbor as possible! So many of My people fail to concentrate properly on the present.
“Come to My Heart each day, My people, and I will give you the light and strength to more and more realize the greatness of the present moment. The more you dwell in My Heart, the more content you will be to live in the present. I am Lord and Master. I want to fill you with ever greater peace and joy! But to experience this, you must listen to My words and live them!”
Reflection: We can’t relive the past, although we are meant to profit from it in various ways. We must make plans for our future on this earth, but how much of it can we be sure will be ours? Literally, one’s life could end in the coming moment. The saints knew the secret of living in the present moment. That’s why they became saints. Let’s always remember the words of Jesus: “So do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself”(Matthew 6:34).
Prayer: Jesus, give us the grace to want to love you so much that we want to use all the potential of doing so each moment of our existence! Give us the light to see that when we just glide over the present moment rather then trying to live it from the depths of our being, we are wasting precious opportunities. We are wasting the opportunity to love You and our neighbor to the fullest extent possible in the here and now!
7. From a Lenten Homily, March 24, 2000
Live in the Moment
Today’s Gospel in its story certainly points ahead to Jesus in His Passion and death. And as we read passages such as this during the Lenten season, we are reminded once again that the Church in her Liturgy of the Word gives us an opportunity to undergo a purification, an ever deepening cleansing of ourselves so that we may be a more fit instrument for receiving the great graces which are to be given to us at the time of the Resurrection memorial on Easter. And so all in all, Lent is a time of purification to prepare us for ever-greater gifts of the Lord. It’s a time of self-discipline, a time to renew our efforts to be self-disciplined in the service of the Lord. Self-discipline is an aspect of purification. And I suggest that one of the most difficult acts of self-discipline in the spiritual journey is to concentrate on the present moment. We have a very strong tendency to disregard the importance of the present moment by focusing in a wrong way on the past or in a wrong way on the future. There are proper occasions for thinking of the past and the future. For example, we have to learn from the past and we have to prepare for the future, but our great emphasis has to be upon the present. There is a Latin axiom which says, age quod agis, age quod agis, which means: do what you are doing, concentrate on the present. And of course we are familiar with that term in the history of spirituality: the sacrament of the present moment. And so the discipline of Lent certainly encourages us to include in a deeper self-discipline a greater determination to get as much as we can out of the present moment. People with a terminal illness have an opportunity as they prepare for death for increased prayer, contrition, love of God. However, some are taken very, very quickly. But for those who have the opportunity of knowing with some certainty the time of their death, I’m sure as they look back on their lives, they are saddened by the many times they did not use time and opportunities for the service of the Lord properly, and are overjoyed at those times in which they did use the present opportunity properly. A great means we have of living in the present properly is a greater focus upon our Lord. For if I have that awareness of the fact I am united with Jesus here and now, why should I be concerned so much about the future or the past? Yes, a great help in living in the present and deriving all the good we can from it for ourselves and others is an ever greater focus upon Jesus, because the more I focus upon Jesus and the more I live with Him in the present moment, the more I am satisfied with the present moment. And so let us in our Lenten activity resolve to grow in that self-discipline - which is very difficult at times - to really live in the presence with the fullness of our being as much as is possible, with the help of God’s grace. Now is the day of salvation. Now is the day of salvation.

Guiding Light homily series — Reflect on the Word — Cycle B The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand. $10 |
Guiding Light homily series — Steadfast to the Son — Cycle A The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $10 |
Guiding Light — Focusing on the Word — Cycle B At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $10 |
Guiding Light — Feed My Soul — Cycle C In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $10 |
