R. Today's reading was very long.
The world does not center on us.
God is the head. God is above
us – when we try to see the
world where we are the one
calling the shots and things
depending on us we are off.
Faith: SEE through the eyes of
the Heavenly Father –
We are here dependent on God.
We want to live under Him. He
has a plan for us to get down
under Him – not think about
how we run things and pray to
God and He does it our way –
We know how precious our
relationship is with God. We
are under – He is over, but
He loves us and wants to dwell
in us and operate in us.
We recognize we are sinners
and we offend God and hurt
others – We don't start out
thinking we are perfect and
we run things.
God calls us to love our brothers –
are we loving?
We are dependent on God for
our wisdom, understanding –
we cooperate with His grace –
If we are good, it is because
God gives us grace to be good,
to be loving and we cooperate
with His grace.
Sing: Glory Be
We are learners.
We are to pray for knowledge of
God and His Plan –
We are to learn to love –
We are to be grateful and submissive
like little children.
Babies are learners – they want to learn
how to do things, how to do things,
learn to do how God wants us to
be. He wants us to love Him with
our whole heart, our whole soul
and our whole being and love our
neighbor as ourselves –
We have a lot to learn –
To love likened to Jesus –
who gave His life for us
sinners –
Jesus shows us how to love –
Jesus is God –
Jesus is love –
Jesus died for us, His brothers –
Dear Jesus,
Thank You for this day. Please help me to
do Your will. I unite all my prayers, works,
joys and sufferings in union with the Holy
Sacrifice of the Mass in the Holy Spirit.
Dear Heavenly Father, I offer all I do united
to the Mass and in the Holy Spirit – please help
men to have peace in their hearts and love
for You and their fellow men. Help them
to do Your will, Father, and respect the
life You gave us. We are so sorry for the
sins of the human race and our sins.
We want to help make reparation for our
sins. We are sorry, Father, help us to
have hearts of love – help us to be as
You want us to be – outpour Your
grace, we thank You, Father, Son and
Holy Spirit for all Your gifts, help us.
Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time - B Cycle
Deuteronomy 18: 15-20
Yahweh your God will raise up a prophet like me; you will listen to him. This is exactly what you asked Yahweh your God to do—at Horeb, on the day of the Assembly, when you said, "Never let me hear the voice of Yahweh my God or see this great fire again, or I shall die." Then Yahweh said to me, "What they have said is well said. From their own brothers I shall raise up a prophet like yourself; I shall put my words into his mouth and he will tell them everything I command him. Anyone who refuses to listen to my words, spoken by him in my name, will have to render an account to me. But the prophet who presumes to say something in my name which I have not commanded him to say, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet must die."
Psalm 95: 1-2, 6-9
Come, let us cry out with joy to Yahweh,
acclaim the rock of our salvation.
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving,
acclaim him with music.Come, let us bow low and do reverence;
kneel before Yahweh who made us!
For he is our God,
and we the people of his sheepfold,
the flock of his hand.If only you would listen to him today!
Do not harden your hearts as at Meribah,
as at the time of Massah in the desert,
when your ancestors challenged me,
put me to the test, and saw what I could do!
1 Corinthians 7: 32-35
I should like you to have your minds free from all worry. The unmarried man gives his mind to the Lord’s affairs and to how he can please the Lord; but the man who is married gives his mind to the affairs of this world and to how he can please his wife, and he is divided in mind. So, too, the unmarried woman, and the virgin, gives her mind to the Lord’s affairs and to being holy in body and spirit; but the married woman gives her mind to the affairs of this world and to how she can please her husband. I am saying this only to help you, not to put a bridle on you, but so that everything is as it should be, and you are able to give your undivided attention to the Lord.
Mark 1: 21-28
They went as far as Capernaum, and at once on the Sabbath he went into the synagogue and began to teach. And his teaching made a deep impression on them because, unlike the scribes, he taught them with authority.
And at once in their synagogue there was a man with an unclean spirit, and he shouted, ‘What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are: the Holy One of God.’ But Jesus rebuked it saying, ‘Be quiet! Come out of him!’ And the unclean spirit threw the man into convulsions and with a loud cry went out of him. The people were so astonished that they started asking one another what it all meant, saying, ‘Here is a teaching that is new, and with authority behind it: he gives orders even to unclean spirits and they obey him.’ And his reputation at once spread everywhere, through all the surrounding Galilean countryside.
