The mission of the
Shepherds of Christ is to lead
people more and more to that which they
hunger after — The Love of God —
We wander a barren
desert, searching
and searching and God has these gifts
He gives us in the Church to heal our
stalking soul.
As St. Paul says
Galatians 2: 19-20
...I have been crucified with Christ and yet I am alive; yet it is no longer I, but Christ living in me.
When I hear the scripture
"Feed the hungry" I am in touch —
so deeply with the Medicine of Immortality
that fills the hungry soul with life
itself — LIFE IN HIM
being saturated with His
grace
Living more deeply existent IN Him
For our lives here are a
journey to hopefully
one day have the beatific vision —
to be wrapped in love itself —
to be existent in God —
to have the fullness of life in heaven.
God gives to us the ultimate
feast
here below —
A sharing in His life in
baptism —
in which our knowing and loving capacity
is elevated to sharing in His life.
What is thirsting and
hungering for the
man who has an immortal soul —
it is to know life forever wrapped in the
presence of the Divine God: Father, Son
and Holy Spirit.
It is satisfying the
craving in the
soul to know God most intimately
in heaven to be possessed by God.
The spiritual faculties
of knowing
and loving can be looked at in
the realm of fullness in heaven and
hungering here below —
I hunger after the fullness of life I
will know existent IN GOD, IN
HEAVEN, being possessed by
God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Hungering is not
satisfying
the carnal desire of filling ones
stomach to sustain life —
Hungering on a spiritual
level
is being fed at the
table of the Lord — is knowing the
grace being poured out in His
Church as we are filled more
and more by the fountain of His
life.
Think of the lady
thirsting at the well,
but Christ in scripture always
referred to streams of living
water.
Where we think of a
thirsty
tongue — God looks deep into the
soul created by Him and says —
You thirst after Me —
You hunger for My life alive in you —
You want streams of living water
I outpour to you in My Church —
And where the world is hungry —
I give to My beloved priests —
the gift of being another
Christ in the world to My people —
Let not your hearts hunger
any longer
for the perishable things of this
earth —
Praise God in His goodness for
His beloved priests, and the
Church.
As members of the body of
Christ —
come to the table of the Lord to be
filled — hunger no longer —
be strengthened as a strong unit —
in the pure and holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary —
praying in one mind and one heart for
the precious souls Jesus gave His life
for.
The priests, the Church are
to help
strengthen the world — the precious
souls Jesus died for as we live
more and more deeply united to the Holy
Sacrifice of the Mass — living in
love for God and one another —
thanking God for these gifts of being
called through baptism to spread the
Good News.
God lives most deeply in
the
members of the body of Christ saturated
with His grace and as He lives
more deeply in us — we are ONE —
more deeply — IN HIM —
The oneness of the
members of the
body of Christ is ever deeper as
we exist IN Him and are saturated
more and more with His grace.
Feed the hungry souls
searching
to be fed with the love we know
from being deeply united as members
of the body of Christ — living united
IN HIM —
And say as St. Paul —
Galatians 2: 19-20
...I have been crucified with Christ and yet I am alive; yet it is no longer I, but Christ living in me.
We live every moment as
members
of the body of Christ united to the
Masses going on around the world —
And the Mass is the Sacrifice of Calvary
sacramentally made present —
We are thus one in this
great
gift God gives to us in the Church
in helping in the work of redemption —
Are souls hungry?
Yes they are thirsting
after eternal
life — They are hungering for life
eternal with God in heaven.
The foolish virgins were
not ready —
the wise ones knew the gifts of the
marriage to the Lamb for all eternity —
being possessed by God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Song: God's Love
Imprimatur from Archbishop of Indianapolis
Imprisonment is a soul —
Dead in sin
Freedom is doing God's
will in
love
The golden rule of the
spiritual life —
Doing God's will in love —
‘Come to me, all you who labour and are overburdened, and I will give you rest. Shoulder my yoke and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Yes, my yoke is easy and my burden light.’
A prisoner is one not living
in the Truth and
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life —
A prisoner is one who is
deceived by
satan.
The Holy Spirit alive in a
soul
counsels one with WISDOM.
Humility is truth —
One who lives in the truth has WISDOM.
Through the Holy Spirit —
the Word became Flesh
in the Womb of Mary
Through the Holy Spirit —
alive in us —
the incarnation goes on
in us —
as we dwell most intimately
in Mary's Heart (her spiritual womb)
and the Holy Spirit molds us more
and more in the image of Jesus.
Humility is truth and
from the heart and tongue of Mary
the Holy Spirit imparts to us
His discourse on being the
Handmaid of the Lord —
Luke 1:46-55
The Magnificat
And Mary said:
My soul proclaims
the greatness of the Lord
and my spirit rejoices
in God my Saviour;
because he has looked upon
the humiliation of his servant.
Yes, from now onwards
all generations will call me blessed,
for the Almighty
has done great things for me.
Holy is his name,
and his faithful love extends age after age
to those who fear him.
He has used the power of his arm,
he has routed the arrogant of heart.
He has pulled down princes
from their thrones
and raised high the lowly.
He has filled the starving with good things,
sent the rich away empty.
He has come to the help
of Israel his servant,
mindful of his faithful love
--according to the promise
he made to our ancestors--
of his mercy to Abraham
and to his descendants for ever.
The greatness of God
Jesus then shows us what it
is
to be the Son of God
Spirituality for Modern ManExcerpt from
The Mystery of Christ
Christ is the entrance of eternity into time, God present among us in human form. The Son in assuming human flesh subjected Himself to the historical dimension of man's existence. In other words, the actions which Christ performed through His human nature here below were limited by temporal historicity. The temporal historicity of these acts cannot be re-enacted, no, not even sacramentally in the liturgy. This would be asking God to reproduce a past act now precisely as past, a contradiction in terms.
There is, then, the temporal not-to-be-repeated dimension of Christ's mysteries or life events. However, these mysteries possess another aspect, eternal and perennially dynamic. Christ, although having a divine nature and a human nature, is only one person, and that divine. We see the consequence of this in reference to the acts which Christ performed as man while upon earth. These were acts of a divine person and therefore share in the eternity of the divine person Who is above the historical, temporal limitations of earthly space and time. The events of Christ's historical existence truly endure eternally in the glorified Christ, and they endure for a purpose.

Jesus the New Adam
Mary the New Eve
We the poor banished children
of Adam
and Eve are
hungry and thirsting.
Captives
Persecuted as we struggle
—
learning the purity of Mary
as the incarnation goes on in us
We are taken to the high
mountain
and the grace is outpoured
as the sacrifice of Calvary
is sacramentally made present —
We long to be saved
We want happiness
Being united to God is the
Mystery
of Life.
Fr. John says we see with
imperfect vision God, others
and ourselves.
Being in love with God and
others
makes things work the best —
Focus on God.
Focus on God's Plan.
Focus on love.
Focus on God's will.
God is with us
We hunger for completeness in God
in heaven.
We hunger to be possess by
God —
We thirst after knowledge.
We thirst after the perfection of God —
The mystery we seek is God
who
is the ultimate mystery.
We search after unity and
love —
harmony in the universe.
We hunger after unity and
harmony
and perfection.
God is all in all —
God is one.
God is perfect.
We search after knowing Him —
this is why we were created
this is our delight.
We seek after goodness — even
though
we fall —
ultimately we were created for Him.
We hunger after being subject
to
Him for in this lies our peace —
we seek —
In being more deeply one in
God — we have
greater joy for we were
given this desire to know Him —
in this lies our happiness.
God IS —
In knowing God we see with
wider
vision.
Our feeble hearts reach for
that
which will more and more
satisfy us.
In knowing God — we more
deeply
know reality more clearly.
HUNGERING — Seeking
— Searching
IN KNOWING God
There is an infinitude for us
feeble
men — in knowing God —
HUNGERING IS the "WORD"
for we cannot be satisfied
here below.
God is the Ultimate Mystery.
We were created with this desire to know God —
The perfect hand in the perfect glove,
but the devil gives us
diversions —
lies —
allurements
God's plan when followed and
sought after is our
happiness
Many are clogged vessels inside —
We deeply can connect and
be one
with God in our heart.
God is our ultimate goal.
Prayer
Prayer for Union with Jesus Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.
I am Yours to possess. I am Yours to use. I want to be selfless and only exist in You. Help me to spoon out all that is me and be an empty vessel ready to be filled by You. Help me to die to myself and live only for You. Use me as You will. Let me never draw my attention back to myself. I only want to operate as You do, dwelling within me.
I am Yours, Lord. I want to have my life in You. I want to do the will of the Father. Give me the strength to put aside the world and let You operate my very being. Help me to act as You desire. Strengthen me against the distractions of the devil to take me from Your work.
When I worry, I have taken my focus off of You and placed it on myself. Help me not to give in to the promptings of others to change what in my heart You are making very clear to me. I worship You, I adore You and I love You. Come and dwell in me now.
-God's Blue Book, January 17, 1994
We live more deeply our life
—
the more we know God
the more we are saturated
with
His grace
the more we live IN HIM
God wants man to be saved.
God first loved us.
God is all good.
God is all loving.
God loves.
God loves man.
God loves the world.
God is just.
We cannot read the Plan of
God from our limited mind —
We cannot grasp it.
We must look to God to always
be
learning His Plan for us —
to always be in the state of
learning more about God
for us feeble creatures
here below
HUNGERING to know
about God -
God IS
We are His creatures.
We are limited —
We are learning about God —
God reveals Himself to us
Passions cool —
Hungering for things not
everlasting
and destroying our soul is
foolish
Hungering after things not of
God's plan is foolish.
Hungering for appetites that
take
us from our eternal destiny that
we give into are destructive
to our soul —
God intends us to want
harmony
with His rules
His plan
God gives us a free will
God intends us to obey
Jesus is the gateway that
leads to freedom.
Freedom is found in living according to the
Father's will and obeying the Commandments
and living according to the Word.
The Trinity is the most
perfect
community
God is 3 Persons in one
God —
God intends us to be
communal
God intends us to be one
God is Perfection
We are imperfect — tainted
In heaven we will see the beatific vision.
Our work on earth is to grow
in greater perfection —
God loves us
As that which God loves —
He longs for our love
He longs for union with us
God gives us this special
sharing
in His life in baptism —
AWESOME
God wants us one
God wants our oneness with
Him
God wants oneness amongst
us - love - harmony —
Look at the beauty in which
God created us
Look at our talents
Look at how men and women can
have a family and have
a baby
Do we really see that God
has a Divine Plan?
Do we see the cycle of life
in nature?
Do we see the beauty God
created in our world?
God loves us.
God gave us all this.
God is the Creator —
God created us —
We are creatures of God!!!
Man has a free will —
How he chooses to use it
is how he is —

-God's Blue Book, January 17, 1994
From September 16, 2002
Messenger: I looked up to see the
big white
tank, the rust was plain
around its upper rim —
I was deeply united
to my God
remembering the heights of ecstasy
I had experienced, the
times of deep fullness and
almost being there again as
I recalled them and their
grandeur, anticipating how
wonderful indeed would be
the moments of deepest union
with Him in heaven.
It is funny how
deeply I can experience
a moment when united in deep love
to Him and others.
The words are deep
and it is always
there for me, experiencing an
eerie sulken, almost purple
morning, one in which the color
of day seems to hang in
a sky far off with a misty white
fog in front of me.
It is the kind of
morning that
takes me to Him, like standing
at the entrance of a tunnel,
but it is as if
you stand at
this place on this earth below
and see into the future - where
at the end of the purple
morning you will be embraced
by this Divine Light and
united to Him, your Beloved,
your all, all that you have
sought and seek for now.
But in the morning
light which was
purple and dark, it has
lifted now and I feel a
special awareness of Him
in this too.
My awareness of Him
is constant,
my connection to heaven and
the saints and those who have
passed on is such a reality to
me at every moment.
I long for those
moments in the Mass
when I go there to the Church and
unite in the celebration and
then I receive my God.
My heart is always longing for Him.
My heart is always
feeling that
lack of completeness I long
for in Him.
I am here in this
place, at this
time and yet it truly is
as one on a bus in transit.
I am on a journey and always
aware of my destination.
Depth, I want greater
depth
in my life in Him.
There is always that
open door,
that long tunnel, that
endless place I can go.
Even in hearing His
word, I enter
into a place that is always open —
my heart is excited and wanting
to go so deeply into that open
place, experiencing more deeply
the one I love, the ultimate
mystery, the All Powerful,
All Loving God.
Oh I can barely
scratch the surface
of knowledge of Him even in
my attendance at Mass.
I know the whole
thing is so
great - at Mass - I know
more the greatness of Him and
this vast universe and
the heaven and all I do not
even see. It is all so
real to me, but my
experience seems so very
shallow knowing that I can
experience it deeper and deeper.
Oh, I feel as St.
Theresa, my thoughts
are always of Him, my life lived
for Him, my desire to be His
bride are always before me, my
desire to be complete in Him
forever constant and yet
the Eucharist and His word
feeds me so much.
When I read His word
I long to
go deeper into it — it is
always open and I am
always longing for a deeper
experience when I hear it
or read it — to experience
Him and my love for Him
ever more.
My thirsting is so
great for
completeness in Him —
I am in that deep and
dreary
desert land, here below.
I am like one man
walking on the
dry, sandy, desert thirsting,
longing for water.
I am hungry, like one
who hasn't
eaten for years —
I know why God kept
saying for 6 weeks
"feed the hungry", "feed the hungry."
I am hungry, I am
longing for the
fullness I know I can have
only in Him, in heaven.
Comfort, to unite
with each other
in this mission — each of us
so deeply united to one another
and to Him.
And yet I do not want
to sound as if
my life is not lived in joy,
for He gives me others to love,
to have so deeply in my heart
and there is an incompleteness in
that love I experience with them.
There are moments
when I can ponder
the love I have for others and
for the saints and for God
and the very thoughts of it
are thoughts of deep joy and
longing for completeness and
greater capacity to love deeper and
more like Him and experience
every moment in the joy of
being more deeply united to
Him and to all.
Oh I may sound like I
ramble on but
I do so because as Fr. Carter always
taught me "it is ineffable."
The purple skies
lift, the tunnel is
always there, my life is not
given to me to spend in
contemplation like this all day
and yet it is this that helps to
quiet my heart hungering for
Him and the grandeur of heaven,
of knowing Him more fully, of
being enlightened by Him to know.
Every day comes with
a dress —
some days He dresses in a purple hue —
some days wear a deep blue —
some a golden light —
others a reddish glow of a burning
flame
most may appear as a whitish,
milky haze with the polluted
air —
every flower He
paints, He tends to
the detail of the smallest flower—
the little things
in its interesting
centers so we can gaze upon
it and know we never see
all there is to see in it —
look at the earth
—
can your eyes behold the grandeur
of it all —
do you see every leaf of the giant
old oak tree —
could you study its bark alone for
a thousand years —
could you bring out your microscopes
and enlarge it
and when you
have done so, do you see
a tiny creature lurking in a small
pore of the bark, with little antlers
or wings and little feet.
I stand at the
door of the tunnel and
I look and I know there is
so much to see and to know
and I thirst for it, I hunger
for the knowledge of Thee —
Oh Holy Spirit
enlighten me and give
me the eyes to see, for my
eyes feel they are coated with
mud.
On September 5,
2002, it rained and yet
the colors of the image before me, as
it changed very rapidly — right
before my eyes —
I know the blue of the sky and the
blue of the water, but the blue of
Mary's gown was a mystical blue
of depth I cannot describe, nor
ever saw before or may never
see again. It glistened with a silver-
golden lining and a depth of
precision I cannot describe.
I can see the blue of man-made things
and it is just that man-made plastics
etc, but to see the gown of Mary
changing before me as painted
by God, it was awesome and
after seeing it, it quickly changed
to a deeper golden gown but
I saw it so very distinctly and
clearly and it had a depth
that was to me, inexhaustible and
not ending.

September 16, 2002 message continues
Messenger: The golden fire
color where Jesus'
face was came in that corner
and it was more gold than I
ever saw.
Oh I saw this
before my eyes and
it was not static, nor did it
appear contained, nor can I describe
it here for it was deeper than the
pane of that glass to me, it was a wonder
to see more than any movie one
could watch of the waves at
sea, it was in its own way, a
deeper blue that did not end, it
was mystical and I cannot even
begin to explain it.
And I looked into
His eyes and I saw
Him before me in the pain He
gave me, there was this sweetness
in the quiet moment of pain —
a sweetness of knowing God
and knowing which I hold
so dear is real.
My heart is quieted only by Thee.
The rustling and
bustling cars go
by on the busy freeway
and within each person
carries their own thoughts
and experiences and they live
in a world of the unknown.
I see the
lightning steel across the sky
and I can barely make out the
building tops and trees, the
sky.
It happens so
quickly — He lights
the night for that split second.
We live in a sort
of night here below —
we do not see the picture so
clearly — He lifts the veil and
gives us quick glimpses,
just to see a little of it —
Oh our vision is
so limited and
there is so much to see —
there is so much to know —
there is the
quiet world in all of
us —
a world we
can never completely
share with anyone but Him
and He knows it better than ourselves.
I do not know the
condition of my kidneys
or my gall bladder or my inner
ear —
Oh the magnificence of God —
He knows all
things —
He created the world and all its creatures —
He is Divine
We are human
He is Supreme
We are His creatures
He knows all things —
We know a little —
The Magnitude of
God —
He cannot be measured
He is —
He is All Perfect —
He is Unchanging
He is God
Oh I long for Him — to know Him —
to know His works —
to know the whole design —
to love more
deeply —
more completely —
with the great capacity
I will have then —
how foolish
we are to think I
can see the end —
Oh He can not be
contained
He is God.
Little children
have a whole
world to discover, all the beauties
of God.
Why do we want to
show little
children dark movies?
Their eyes are bright —
They, when living
in a family of
love, are looking with
eyes of wonder and
the desire to know.
Little children,
babies, little
toddlers are so open —
wanting to know.
We can fill them
with love and
tell them about God.
They are like an
empty vessel
ready to be filled.
The man at church
came up to me
and told me of all the killings
in Cincinnati and terrible things
going on in the world.
In the Church a
woman came in
during morning Mass and was
sleeping in the bride's room
on the floor with blankets.
There so much darkness.
Joe did this as a child.
