Sheila W.

Written January 14, 2000

Jesus has led me gently and gradually into closer union with Him through Shepherds of Christ. From the Prayer for Union that I found in church, to the first time I read a Blue Book, to my first 13th meeting, to starting a prayer chapter in my parish, He has patiently led me into doing things I didn’t know I could do.

I have loved Shepherds of Christ from the beginning because I have experienced Jesus' guidance in a special way.

And here I am, a Handmaid of the Good Shepherd, being a spouse of Jesus, loving and serving Him here in China, Indiana. For many years, I wanted to work for Jesus in the Church, but didn’t know how.

The daily Mass and holy hour were a part of my life before I knew about Shepherds of Christ or the Blue Books. Reading the Blue Book for the first time confirmed what I was already doing and gave me the direction on how to spend that hour with Jesus before the tabernacle.

During the last few years of my working days, I looked forward to the time off so I could spend it with Jesus before the tabernacle. I purposely did my housework during the weeknights so I could have Saturday totally free to spend with Him before the tabernacle.

So, to be here in China, where I can focus totally on Jesus, loving and adoring Him in the Eucharist, and helping to send out His newsletters and filling the orders, is a dream come true for me.

Being a handmaid has been a joy and a challenge. A joy to know this is God’s will for me and a challenge to change myself and to let go of the things I am attached to.

I am now sitting before Jesus, in the exposed Blessed Sacrament, and I am thankful to Him that He has fulfilled my heartfelt wish to be able to love and serve Him 24 hours a day and to adore Him in the Eucharist.

I am also grateful to Jesus for letting me work with the most selfless people who are in Shepherds of Christ. They are always willing to help me out when I need them and go the extra mile to make things easier for me. It is a blessing to be in this family called Shepherds of Christ.

I am also thankful for my friends back home who have been a great support to me, who have prayed for me and helped me to move to China.

On the 13ths, when everyone is gathered for the rosary here in China, I look at the people and I feel a connection in my heart to all of them, to my friends from Jasper and my Shepherds of Christ family and I thank Jesus for loving me through these beautiful people.

And I thank Jesus for leading me to the Shepherds of Christ and for teaching me so many things, especially how to be a better spouse of the Lamb. It is my heartfelt desire to be united with Him forever and He is continuing to lead me there a step at a time. I love Him with all my heart and I love the Shepherds of Christ Movement.

R. Jesus with a Heart of Divine Love,
Jesus who is love,
came among men to teach them His
way of love,
and the men of the earth did not
recognize what His message was.

So many today miss the message
of the Lord.

God is love and He emptied Himself
to His death on the cross to teach us
that love is not selfish, love gives.

Love puts God first, even when the
sacrifice is very great and hard on us.

Love looks to Jesus as the guide, the
teacher.
God is Mighty.
We must keep our eyes always on the
prize - that is Jesus - life eternal with
Jesus.

Jesus came with a kind and generous
Heart to show us how much He loves
us.
Love is giving and receiving.
Do we really receive this on-fire love
Jesus gives us?
This is what fills us when the world
is cold.

Jesus is the source, so we can love with
His Heart, see with His Heart and give
His love to others, so they know Him
and His generous love.

Jesus will never be outdone in generosity,
God is love.

Jesus came with a kind and generous
Heart to teach us how to love and to
bring this love to others.

We were created in the image and
likeness of Jesus. We were created by
God the Father, so unique, to bring
Jesus to the world.

Jesus is the source of our love.
This Christmas let us pray:

God I love You so much, dwell in me,
give me the grace I need most, so I
can be Your love working in me to
others and the Church and the world.

When the world is cold and uncaring,
selfish and what seems empty of love,
we are living more and more one with
Jesus - who fills us with burning love
to let His love shine through our
troubled souls, when we feel weary.

Come to me Lord, fill me now and
possess my soul, help me to pray and
love those in my life and in the world.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I love
You so much, teach me to love.

Song: Teach Me to Love with Your Heart

R. A lesson to learn:
To give and to learn to receive Love.
Receive the love God gives us, so we
can more perfectly love as we should.
God is the source of love - open your
hearts to Him and be filled by the source.
God is Divine, All-Perfect love.
Jesus emptied Himself to teach us this
lesson.
Jesus gives us Divine love.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
God is love, go to Him to be filled
more and more.

I love You, most Sacred Heart of Jesus
and place my trust in Thee.

Amen.

November 18, 2024

Jesus: My love is ablaze for you.
My love is eternal.

R. Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place my
trust in Thee.
Come to me Lord and possess my soul.
I want to dwell in Thee.

May 17, 1992

R. In my journal May 17, 1992 I wrote:

Dear Jesus,
Yesterday I had the image of the
keys and one of my girls gave me a key
with Jesus, Mary, and Joseph on it,
the Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

Today I had the image in the chapel
of the brown door opened ever so
slightly, dark inside with a
chair in front of it.

Jesus: Remove the
chair from the closed door My
child, Let your light shine –
Open the door – let yourself out
to express your joy – take the chair away –
the negative tapes

R. I had a vision of a brown door,
yesterday a vision of keys.

Jesus: You My child are strong and alive, you
have tried harder to do more –
look at yourself, open the door –
go through the door – you
are waiting to bloom as a bud
ready to burst open with life.
Your life – your potential is like a
seed that is ready to burst
its pod – it cannot be contained
any longer.

Open the door – let yourself out
use the key – the key is you – you
are strong – you are not dependent

I am the way, the truth and the life,
I am the light of life. I dwell in
your heart. I live in you,
I work in you, yes you have
accomplished so much, I have been
by your side, I am by your
children’s side, reach out and touch Me,
feel My presence in your soul, I am
He who comforts you, do not be afraid
and I say to you wait, listen, and you
will be told what and how to do it.
I am talking to you now. Readying you
for your journey, a journey into life –
you will know life as you never known it
before and He brought a miracle
down on them and they were set free.
I am He who comforts you. I come
to you in all your trials, I am with
you, I am your God and I love you.
Do not be afraid, I will be there for
you, My most precious child.

R. I, Lord, want to do Thy will, please
live in my heart, see with my eyes,
touch with my hands and walk with
my feet, I want to do Thy will. Love with
Your heart and listen with Your ears.

Jesus: I am He who comforts you –
Be not afraid.

Where Will You Go On the Day of Reckoning?

Jesus: I come, you wait, you are filled.

R. It seems so long since I talked to You, My Lord.

Jesus: Time is so short-here today, gone tomorrow-and your reward awaits you. What glory awaits him who serves the Lord and his life is over? Where will you go on that day of reckoning? How is the state of your soul? Did you spend your life in search of a kingdom, never to find one but an idle pursuit, looking here and there for a kingdom, but never finding what you sought? The kingdom you seek is not of this world. Your life is not its own reward. Your life is being spent for the reward to follow. This life is not the reward in itself. This life is only the batting of an eye, the dropping of a pin, and the life hereafter is at hand. Where are you going, My little one? Did you spend your life in such idle pursuits, only to find that your search was in vain? Your life was empty and now what do you have to show for how you lived? Is all that mattered up like smoke in your face and you say, "Is that all there is?"

And what did you do with your little life here? When I paraded in front of you, you knew there was more to your life but you closed your eyes and told yourself, "Nay, I live for the likes of this world. Crazy are those who speak of a life hereafter." You heard, you were made aware, you had opportunities, you laughed, you sneered, you ran amok and told yourself you were all that mattered. This life was your end. You were going to have it all right here-one, glorious, true life. You were in pursuit of the treasure found in your house, at your job, in your children, in your pocket. You blinded yourself to any other possibility and continued on your willful little way. You were sought after by Him. You were probed, you were pursued, you were shown the light. I loved you your whole life. I followed you and opened My heart to you and you closed yours and spit in My face and you walked away. You walked over your brothers and you hardened your little hearts.

You pursued idle pursuits and you ran around with a worldly-focused gaze. Tunnel vision. You knew you were not in a tunnel. You knew from My pursuit of you that there was much more but you closed yourself off and went full steam ahead down the wrong road. You did not see the birds of the air or the children at play. You saw a world to be gained and a goal to be achieved. You sought an empty treasure in a barren field and when I stopped at each crossing and said, "Oh, that you would come and follow Me," you ignored My prompting and proceeded like a blind dog down the same path toward the barren field. And your heart lacked joy and it became harder and harder as you trod, but at each crossing you say, "Nay, Lord, I will find My reward here and be off."

Oh, you silly fool! To live your life for such emptiness. The only life that is is in Me. You never die. This is but a test. This is a test for you to receive a real reward. I have prodded you and tried to lead you toward Me but you spit in My face and went your willful way. Oh, little ones, eternity is so long. It doesn't end today or tomorrow. It goes on and on and on and never ends. This is a test to see how you will fare in the end. To put all your treasures in this life is to store up nothing. You take not one dime with you. All that remains is the things of the heart, your love of God and your love for your fellow man.

To follow God is to find the real reward, a field brimming with milk and honey. And you will behold the face of God! This and this alone feeds your hungry soul. All else leads the soul to barren lands. Store up a treasure of gold for the life hereafter. When you come to that crossing remove the blinders from your eyes and look at your beloved Jesus, staring right into your heart. Take the hard crust from your chest and let your heart become alive in His love. Do not pursue idle pursuits. Go down the road that leads to Jesus and at the end you will see His face! His road is well marked all through your life. Your sisters and brothers who loved Him looked into your eyes, but you wore blinders and laughed at them.

Oh, silly! A few years? For what? You don't get anything here but heartache, momentary pleasure that leaves you empty, so you numb your hearts with TV or alcohol or food or sex. It lasts only a moment, but you numb the craving in the soul. Oh, poor starved little ones, your soul can only be fed by Me. You are starving yourself to death. Your soul is withering and dying. Your victory is already won by Me Who died a brutal death for love of you! Come to Me. I knock at the door. Will you open or will you run amok down roads that lead to emptiness. On that day of reckoning when I, in all My pursuits of your soul and My saddened heart, finally have to turn you away and say, "I do not know you. I pursued you your whole life. I stood by your side. I walked by you the whole way and you never turned your head. You looked for your glory here and I waited and waited. I sent others to show you the way to the golden reward but you laughed and continued in your willfulness to the barren desert."

Oh, child, I love you. Many have prayed and sacrificed for you but you would not turn your hearts to Me. I am the way, the truth and the life. All other roads lead to destruction of the soul. My ways are not easy, but they are filled with peace, love and joy. My ways are everlasting. Your soul craves this union with Me. You are fighting off that which your soul thirsts after. It doesn't feel good, but you close your eyes and numb your craving. Oh, turn to Me and find rest, My little ones, now before it is too late! I am as close as your breath.

R. I love You my Divine God!!
Jesus,

I can’t imagine the ugly faces as men beat
You for our sins.

The Holy Spirit is with me.

Oh God is love.
The devil is hate.
The devil wants men to be angry and hate.

God is love.
Oh my God, I see the beauty of Your precious
love.

I love the peace and freedom of the day.

The devil is chaos and confusion.
The devil wants people to seek dominance for
dominance sake, at all costs.

The devil wants souls for hell.

The crucifixion shows us how far men can go to
show they are powerful.

My heart is rooted in the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
What we do to others, we do to Jesus and He paid
the price through His bitter passion and death.

God’s gift to us in the Church and the Mass is
beyond any measure of earthly gifts.

God is the Alpha and the Omega, without a
beginning, without an end.

St. John 18:33-37

So Pilate went back into the Praetorium and called Jesus to him and asked him, 'Are you the king of the Jews?' Jesus replied, 'Do you ask this of your own accord, or have others said it to you about me?' Pilate answered, 'Am I a Jew? It is your own people and the chief priests who have handed you over to me: what have you done?' Jesus replied, 'Mine is not a kingdom of this world; if my kingdom were of this world, my men would have fought to prevent my being surrendered to the Jews. As it is, my kingdom does not belong here.' Pilate said, 'So, then you are a king?' Jesus answered, 'It is you who say that I am a king. I was born for this, I came into the world for this, to bear witness to the truth; and all who are on the side of truth listen to my voice.'

R. They hear the voice of the Good Shepherd.
Some listen to Him…
Some rebel against Jesus, the King of Glory.

My heart beats for Jesus. Most Sacred Heart
of Jesus, I give You my all, my God.

God is love.
Jesus comes in truth.
Our weapons are our hearts filled with love.

God must be first.

Matthew 22: 36-40

'Master, which is the greatest commandment of the Law?' Jesus said to him, 'You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second resembles it: You must love your neighbour as yourself. On these two commandments hang the whole Law, and the Prophets too.'

Dear Holy Spirit, strengthen our will and
move like a Divine breath in our soul, to
be docile sons and daughters of our
Heavenly Father. Amen.

Alleluia.

Sorrowful Mysteries

The Agony in the Garden

1.
Luke 22: 39-46

The Mount of Olives

He then left to make his way as usual to the Mount of Olives, with the disciples following. When he reached the place he said to them, ‘Pray not to be put to the test.’

Then he withdrew from them, about a stone’s throw away, and knelt down and prayed. ‘Father,’ he said, ‘if you are willing, take this cup away from me. Nevertheless, let your will be done, not mine.’ Then an angel appeared to him, coming from heaven to give him strength. In his anguish he prayed even more earnestly, and his sweat fell to the ground like great drops of blood. When he rose from prayer he went to the disciples and found them sleeping for sheer grief. And he said to them, ‘Why are you asleep? Get up and pray not to be put to the test.’

2. Do you know how hurt we can feel when
one person we love hurts us?
And we can be upset a while.
3. Now think of Christ, His suffering in His
Divine knowing, to know all the sins of

And for the third time he spoke to them, 'But what harm has this man done? I have found no case against him that deserves death, so I shall have him flogged and then let him go.'

2. Jesus’ body was whipped on bare skin.
3. Jesus was whipped raw.

Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus with them into the Praetorium and collected the whole cohort round him. And they stripped him and put a scarlet cloak round him, and having twisted some thorns into a crown they put this on his head and placed a reed in his right hand. To make fun of him they knelt to him saying, ‘Hail, king of the Jews!’ And they spat on him and took the reed and struck him on the head with it. And when they had finished making fun of him, they took off the cloak and dressed him in his own clothes and led him away to crucifixion.

2. Jesus suffered for all the sins of pride.

The Carrying of the Cross

1.
Mark 15: 15-23

So Pilate, anxious to placate the crowd, released Barabbas for them and, after having Jesus scourged, he handed him over to be crucified. The soldiers led him away to the inner part of the palace, that is, the Praetorium, and called the whole cohort together. They dressed him up in purple, twisted some thorns into a crown and put it on him. And they began saluting him, 'Hail, king of the Jews!' They struck his head with a reed and spat on him; and they went down on their knees to do him homage. And when they had finished making fun of him, they took off the purple and dressed him in his own clothes. They led him out to crucify him.

They enlisted a passer-by, Simon of Cyrene, father of Alexander and Rufus, who was coming in from the country, to carry his cross. They brought Jesus to the place called Golgotha, which means the place of the skull. They offered him wine mixed with myrrh, but he refused it.

2. Jesus had such interior pain, He knew
all the sins of the human race.
3. Jesus carried all those offenses in His
    Heart.
4. Come to me Lord and possess my soul.
5. The cross was so heavy with the sins
    of the world.

The Crucifixion

1. Luke 23: 32-47

Now they were also leading out two others, criminals, to be executed with him. When they reached the place called The Skull, there they crucified him and the two criminals, one on his right, the other on his left. Jesus said, 'Father, forgive them; they do not know what they are doing.' Then they cast lots to share out his clothing.

The people stayed there watching.  As for the leaders, they jeered at him with the words, 'He saved others, let him save himself if he is the Christ of God, the Chosen One.'  The soldiers mocked him too, coming up to him, offering him vinegar, and saying, 'If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself.'  Above him there was an inscription: 'This is the King of the Jews'.

One of the criminals hanging there abused him: 'Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us as well.'  But the other spoke up and rebuked him.  'Have you no fear of God at all?' he said.  'You got the same sentence as he did, but in our case we deserved it: we are paying for what we did.  But this man has done nothing wrong.'  Then he said, 'Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.'  He answered him, 'In truth I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.'

The veil of the Sanctuary was torn right down the middle. Jesus cried out in a loud voice saying, 'Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.' With these words he breathed his last. When the centurion saw what had taken place, he gave praise to God and said, 'Truly, this was an upright man.'

3. A Prayer Before the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass

Let me be a holy sacrifice and unite with God in the sacrament of His greatest love.

I want to be one in Him in this act of love, where He gives Himself to me and I give myself as a sacrifice to Him. Let me be a holy sacrifice as I become one with Him in this my act of greatest love to Him.

Let me unite with Him more, that I may more deeply love Him. May I help make reparation to His adorable Heart and the heart of His Mother, Mary. With greatest love, I offer myself to You and pray that You will accept my sacrifice of greatest love. I give myself to You and unite in Your gift of Yourself to me. Come and possess my soul.

Cleanse me, strengthen me, heal me. Dear Holy Spirit act in the heart of Mary to make me more and more like Jesus.

Father, I offer this my sacrifice, myself united to Jesus in the Holy Spirit to You. Help me to love God more deeply in this act of my greatest love.

Give me the grace to grow in my knowledge, love and service of You and for this to be my greatest participation in the Mass. Give me the greatest graces to love You so deeply in this Mass, You who are so worthy of my love.

                                               -Mass Book, December 27, 1995

4. Prayer for Intimacy with the Lamb the Bridegroom of the Soul

Oh Lamb of God, Who take away the sins of the world, come and act on my soul most intimately. I surrender myself, as I ask for the grace to let go, to just be as I exist in You and You act most intimately on my soul. You are the Initiator. I am the soul waiting Your favors as You act in me. I love You. I adore You. I worship You. Come and possess my soul with Your Divine Grace, as I experience You most intimately.

5. Mary’s Message from the Rosary of August 27, 1996

Mary:  I stood beneath the cross of my Son, and my Heart was in such pain for I saw Him before my eyes. I saw Him covered with blood. I saw Him die. My Heart, my children, my Heart to watch my Son, but my Heart, my Heart, how I suffered for my little children of the world that give in to this world and give up the love of my Son. O my little children of light, I give you this message. Carry this light into the darkness for your Mother Mary, for I stood beneath the cross and I cried. I cried for the little ones. I cried for the young ones, the ones that do not care and will lose their souls. How do I make you see for you will not listen to me? What can I do? I come. I appear. I beg. I plead. I give you these gifts from my Son, and you reject me. I do not deliver messages very often anymore for I have been ignored. The message is the same. You do not read the messages I have given to you. Please help me. Help the little children. I appear. I appear. I appear, and I am ignored. I stood beneath the cross, and I cried. I cried, and my Heart was in such anguish for my little children, for I am searching for them this day as I searched for the Child Jesus. Please, please help me. I cannot hold back the hand of my Son any longer. I am Mary, your Mother. I ask you to help my children. You are my children of light.

6. The Mass is the sacrifice of Calvary,
    sacramentally made present.

7. Hebrews 5: 1-6

Every high priest is taken from among human beings and is appointed to act on their behalf in relationships with God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins; he can sympathise with those who are ignorant or who have gone astray, because he too is subject to the limitations of weakness. That is why he has to make sin offerings for himself as well as for the people. No one takes this honour on himself; it needs a call from God, as in Aaron’s case. And so it was not Christ who gave himself the glory of becoming high priest, but the one who said to him: You are my Son, today I have fathered you, and in another text: You are a priest for ever, of the order of Melchizedek

8. John 3:16

For this is how God loved the world:
he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him
    may not perish
but may have eternal life.

9. Love is the gift of self for the good
of the one loved. (Fr. Carter)
10. Jesus showed us how love is to be
    lived.

Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Litugical Year (2011/2012)
$ 10.00

Guiding Light homily series — Reflect on the Word — Cycle B     The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand. $10

Guiding Light - Steadfast to the Son
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle A of the Litugical Year
$ 10.00

Guiding Light homily series — Steadfast to the Son — Cycle A    The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $10

Guiding Light - Focusing on the Word
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Litugical Year
$ 10.00

Guiding Light — Focusing on the Word — Cycle B    At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $10

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle C of the Litugical Year
$ 10.00

Guiding Light — Feed My Soul — Cycle C    In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $10
