R. We see personal relationships in the life
of Jesus, Lazarus, Mary, Martha,
the Apostles
Persons were at the center of Jesus'
existence. Jesus didn't come to earth
and show us how He operated alone
He came to earth in the Holy Family
His Mother visiting Elizabeth when
Jesus was still in the womb
We see Jesus' interaction with John the Baptist.
We see Jesus' interaction with
the Apostles, teaching them to
carry on His work. Jesus had friends,
Jesus worked amongst people
Jesus healed, Jesus visited,
Jesus taught, Jesus loved,
Jesus gave Jesus worked in
community
Jesus obeyed the Father's will
Jesus showed us friendship was
upper most in His life, at the
Center Jesus' friendship was
not lording Himself over them
Jesus loved them
Jesus served them
Jesus was compassionate
His life was a life of giving Himself.
Jesus' life was a life of love.
Jesus' life was a life of service
Jesus loved His friends mightily
He was a lover in His interaction
with others.
Jesus was a tremendous lover
Jesus, God-made-man, came to love
and to be loved by human
creatures
Jesus walked with men
Jesus talked to human creatures
He respected their dignity.
Jesus realized the Father's Plan perfectly
He showed us how the Father
intended a man to be a man
gentle, loving, a friend,
true to His word,
approachable,
peaceful, strong,
respecting others,
harmonious,
tender
eating with them - lots
walking with them.
He showed us love.
He Himself loved
He loved tenderly.
He, the most perfect man.
He loved selflessly,
so intimately, beautifully.
He showed us love in so many
different ways
in so many different settings
He loved everyone and respected
their dignity, their uniqueness.
He loved mightily in pain and
suffering.
He loved mightily in joy and
happiness.
He was consistent, considerate
He sent time with His Apostles
Jesus was with persons.
He loved and gave His all
until His death.
Jesus came to serve, not to be
served.
His attitude was service
He worked and healed and taught
and He grew tired from
working. He labored. He was a
carpenter. He forgave sins.
He healed the sick.
He comforted those who needed
comforting.
He comforted the rejected.
Jesus was priest, prophet
and King
Christ gave His best whatever
it was
Christ was consistent
Jesus was forming community
He was establishing the Church.
Christ was forming the People
of God
The Church was to act as a leaven
in the world
to bring unity and love
among all men
to strengthen that unity and
love in the world by the members
of the Church, His People.
Jesus came the Savior
Jesus wanted the world to
be turned around to be as the
Father intended. He came to
build up, to deepen man's
capacity for real life.
Jesus was a happy man
Happiness is found in knowing
God
God gave us a human heart to
love.
Jesus, the perfect man, shows us
the tremendous giving love
of His tender Heart.
Jesus shows us how He walked
hand-in-hand in unity
and love to build the Church.
Jesus suffered as much as a man
could suffer, rejection,
enemies, wounds, beatings
and He knew the suffering
He would undergo in His Divine
Knowing and He was happy
walking with men, being in
community living and loving
with people, eating with
them Jesus suffered as much
as is possible to suffer
But Jesus taught us suffering
is not incompatible with
happiness.
Jesus was the happiest man of
all times
Jesus lived life to the full
Jesus lived deeply
Jesus lived in joy and happiness
Jesus lived a most beautiful life
in truth and goodness.
The Holy Spirit wants to fashion us in
the image of Jesus
to live the mysteries of Christ
in our life
We must open ourselves to the
touch of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit wants to form us in the
image and likeness of God
This is God's will
Genesis 1: 26-27
God said, Let us make man in our own image, in the likeness of ourselves, and let them be masters of the fish of the sea, the birds of heaven, the cattle, all the wild animals and all the creatures that creep along the ground.
God created man in the image of himself,
in the image of God he created him,
male and female he created them.
Romans 8: 28-29
We are well aware that God works with those who love him, those who have been called in accordance with his purpose, and turns everything to their good. He decided beforehand who were the ones destined to be moulded to the pattern of his Son, so that he should be the eldest of many brothers;
R. Healing
Pray in the context of the Eucharist
Healing the family tree. We want to
pray to get at the root of the evil and
cast it out.
We look at sins in our own life that
effects our children.
Exodus 34: 6-7
Then Yahweh passed before him and called out, Yahweh, Yahweh, God of tenderness and compassion, slow to anger, rich in faithful love and constancy, maintaining his faithful love to thousands, forgiving fault, crime and sin, yet letting nothing go unchecked, and punishing the parents fault in the children and in the grandchildren to the third and fourth generation!
R. We can lie about our sin
We need to come clean
To repent for any evil we have done
Tell God we are sorry
We need to pray for our ancestors.
John 1: 12
But to those who did accept him
he gave power to become children of God,
to those who believed in his name
R. Pray for divorces in the marriages
and healing, pray for what
sin was done
Exodus 34: 6-7
Then Yahweh passed before him and called out, Yahweh, Yahweh, God of tenderness and compassion, slow to anger, rich in faithful love and constancy, maintaining his faithful love to thousands, forgiving fault, crime and sin, yet letting nothing go unchecked, and punishing the parents fault in the children and in the grandchildren to the third and fourth generation!
R. Pray for the Father's family
divorces
unhappy marriages
killing babies
violence

Mysteries of Light
The Mass for Healing a Wounded Relationship
Healing a Heart Scorned
Baptism of Jesus
1. Matthew 3: 13-17
Then Jesus appeared: he came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptised by John. John tried to dissuade him, with the words, It is I who need baptism from you, and yet you come to me! But Jesus replied, Leave it like this for the time being; it is fitting that we should, in this way, do all that uprightness demands. Then John gave in to him. And when Jesus had been baptised he at once came up from the water, and suddenly the heavens opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming down on him. And suddenly there was a voice from heaven, This is my Son, the Beloved; my favour rests on him.
2. R. Come Holy Spirit, Come Fill the
Hearts of the Faithful
and renew the face of the
earth
3. R. God tells us
Matthew 3: 17 ...This is my Son, the Beloved; my favour rests on him.
4. R. God the Father sent His only
begotten Son into the
world
Jesus took flesh.
5. R. My heart is ready Lord, to
be in prayer and declare
Your works to the people
For You gave and gave to us here
God created us in Your image
and likeness and we want to
be truthful and faithful
for all You have given to us.
6. R. Oh God help us as Christians
to witness to You
To grow ever more in our
Christ-life and to
be Your instrument
as we live in this
world
loving You,
Being this witness to You
in this world.
7. R. For 'witness' to You is the word
Jesus is gentle
Jesus came and showed us His
selflessness, among
men.
Jesus showed us how He
walked with His friends.
Jesus showed us how He was
happy, loving and
teaching and being
in community.
8. R. Jesus came to establish His
Church to establish
the people of God
to have men unite as
His witnesses in community
9. R. In working with others we
learn about ourselves
we are achieving self-knowledge,
self-identity in proper
relationships with others
It is the Father's will we live
and work in love in the
world amongst our brothers
to bear fruit for His Kingdom.
10. Sing: Come with Me into the Fields
R. We learn in living in the world,
with others, about ourselves
our strengths, our weaknesses,
our talents and our personalities.
Encounter with others is
particularly important in arriving
at self-knowledge and self-
identity.
To know oneself to open ourselves
to another
Going out of ourselves
Being vulnerable - also
We in quiet prayer enter into
ourselves, reflecting, praying,
asking the Holy Spirit to reveal to us
the Father's will for us
our uniqueness
praying for grace to live
amongst others to relate
to love to laugh to
give that unique contribution
in the world, amongst communication
and interaction with others.
To be true to ourselves admitting
in humility what is in us that
is evil and needs to change and
what is good in us and praising
God.
We are a work in progress Like
a statue being molded more and
more in that image and likeness
through the power of the Holy Spirit
Holy Spirit come - mold me into the
image of Jesus more and more
I am ready to be formed more
into the son or daughter
God the Father intended me to be
Matthew 3: 16-17
And when Jesus had been baptised he at once came up from the water, and suddenly the heavens opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming down on him. And suddenly there was a voice from heaven, This is my Son, the Beloved; my favour rests on him.
The Marriage at Cana
1. John 2: 1-10
The mother of Jesus was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited. And they ran out of wine, since the wine provided for the feast had all been used, and the mother of Jesus said to him, They have no wine. Jesus said, Woman, what do you want from me? My hour has not come yet. His mother said to the servants, Do whatever he tells you. There were six stone water jars standing there, meant for the ablutions that are customary among the Jews: each could hold twenty or thirty gallons. Jesus said to the servants, Fill the jars with water, and they filled them to the brim. Then he said to them, Draw some out now and take it to the president of the feast. They did this; the president tasted the water, and it had turned into wine. Having no idea where it came fromthough the servants who had drawn the water knewthe president of the feast called the bridegroom and said, Everyone serves good wine first and the worse wine when the guests are well wined; but you have kept the best wine till now.
2. R. We can be blind never going inside
in prayer and letting those
we live with show us about
ourselves.
Parents are for bringing children
into the world and raising
them, but too often, dysfunctional
ways, control, perfectionism,
anger, two head-strong parents fighting
for their way - can leave a little
child wounded because of their
imperfections and selfishness
learning to live for some and
defending themselves at 5 and
6 can have life long repercussions
to a little boy or girl learning
to stuff feelings while a battle
of wills goes on around them and
they better stay out of the way
One can act like a surrogate
friend to one parent, causing
problems there
Children have needs and parents
are to learn to get along and take
care of children
It is interesting Christ's first
miracle was at a wedding
He, at the intercession of His
Mother, changed water into
wine.
Living as husband and wife is
certainly challenging when both
want their own way
We see the statistics of divorces
attest to these austere issues
for a person cannot live without
their own way so much or
with the other despite children
they get a divorce
Have those problems in individuals
ceased now that they have
split or can one be more
determined to do it their way
leaving with a very wounded
heart
Jesus tells us about divorce
in the Gospel and we see
some people had to separate
and the Church gives
annulments in certain
cases, but the wounds,
the failure felt can freeze
ones feelings and healing is
needed.
So we have the Mass for
healing our wounded hearts.
The Eucharist!!
The blood of Jesus, this is
the most powerful healing
tool.
To pour out ones needs at
Mass for healing
to pray to the Holy Spirit
to help us to heal by the
Blood of Jesus at the
Mass.
Jesus' first miracle was at
a wedding.
3. R. The devil can also tempt people
at Mass, to be angry,
sit in the pew and ignore
the Divine Almighty God
truly present and
fill our minds with the
clanging anger satan
wants because he hates
love
The devil wants to stop community
prayer, He doesn't want
unity, doing God's will
He wants someone doing things
not right over authority
Satan wants to stamp out love
and turn it to hate, division
selfishness "My way or the
highway".
4. R. God has given us rules to follow.
When one wants to be humble
they pray to see their faults
and to work in God's will
with others.
5. R. If life is a series of living
controlling others so we are
on top, we will have a lot to
learn
In heaven God the Father, Son,
and Holy Spirit are on
top and there is perfect
conformity to the will
of God in love
All other feats we try to win
at here are futile
If we don't learn to let down
walls and learn to advance
in the ways inside of us
that need to change to
live in God's will in love.
6. R. Heaven is for lovers.
Heaven is unity
oneness
Opening.
7. R. The devil hates God
The devil hates anyone
going to Mass, praying
in community
loving and serving God.
8. R. The devil is real
He uses people by tempting
them in jealousy and
the energy of intense
anger toward another
projected from old angry
unhealed wounds is satan's
play-yard to advance ahead
full steam and that steam
is a very negative energy
felt at Mass, prayer groups,
family gatherings
The person becomes good at
entering a room satan
talking in their heads
and they stay in
anger like a bomb
ready to explode
Anger like this in Church
delights satan, at
gatherings amongst
people who are to be united.
It takes learning to wait
in front of others in anger
like this, to hold out to try to
force a reaction of an innocent
other for your anger, your negative
tension that is being projected at
the other like holding a loaded
gun to them.
9. Jesus: At the Marriage Feast I changed
water to wine
At Mass bread and wine
is changed into My
Body and Blood
This is called transubstantiation.
Men are to come to Mass
Remember My death and
resurrection
Dying to sinful ways
and rising to greater
life in Me
Being angry for months and
weeks is against My
commandment of love.
No one can heal a wound
that they do not recognize
and attend to if attention
is needed to heal.
10. Jesus: Hidden anger is like
gun powder to satan
He tempts the person to
load their gun and point
it at another
If they are passive-aggressive
they hold their gun
pointed at another until
the other screams, then
they have passively attacked
without really doing
anything they surmise
Holding out to make others
suffer for your old
anger is evil and needs
healing
The greatest healing for anger and
jealousies is to pray to God
for healing at Mass
The Mass can heal relationships
but you must be truthful,
open.
Praying to the Holy Spirit helps a person
if they beg Him for help.
He will give you openings
to see and they peel
away hard hearts like
the layers of an onion
As you tell the truth about
what is inside of you.
I am Jesus Let your hearts be
more and more like Mine
Hearts were made to live and
love
These are the Mysteries of Light
Get out of the locked closet and live!
The Kingdom of God
1. Jesus: In pride Eve gave into the
devil.
You have original sin and
that is taken away with
baptism, but its effects
are still there
The wounded human nature
is weak,
There is a tendency toward
sin
Humility is truth
A person with humility does
not lie
Satan tempts people to
lie and they give in
lying becomes easier and
easier and habits of
lying are vices hard to
break.
Stretching things so
people like you, listen
to you.
Making things look worse
to make people
angry.
I am the way, the truth and
the life
You are to live in the truth
A person can lie out of
habit, not answer a question
to conceal the information one
is entitled to to start combat.
Building My Kingdom means you
pray to the Holy Spirit to help
you to be truthful
The more one, you are with God,
filled with the Holy Spirit, the
more truthful you are
open in harmony to work
truthfully to serve God.
2. Jesus: Building the Kingdom of God takes
seeking God's will and
not bending the rules
to fit your tainted vision
In that tainted vision you
give into lack of obedience
to just authority
You are cutting off the
power of God moving
the mountain that
comes through just
authority.
Then you have chosen
satan as your
counsel
3. Jesus: The Kingdom of God is
built on Truth
The Kingdom of God is built,
on obedience of just
authority over you
I come to this earth, a baby -
I died on the cross doing
My Father's will.
4. Jesus: Focus on My abundant love
Feast on My riches, not
on the food given to
the pigs because of
your need to leave your
Father's house and write
your own rules
opposed to the Father's will.
5. Jesus: The rule of My Father's House
is obedience to His will
The rule of My Father's House
is love
I outpour My life to the
thirsty souls seeking
Me
The more you are abundantly
filled with My life
The more you live virtuously.
6. Jesus: I feed you with the
Bread of Life, but you
can't have a hard
shut down heart
Harken to Me, now and
Rejoice, shout in
shouts of Joy and
Freedom
Seeking your Father's will
in love
Be a little child of the
Father
You can live your whole
life locked in a
gilded cage
7. Jesus: Two people join in love to
get married and they are
to be one
Marriage is to help strengthen
the Church
As children come
There is a family of love
Children growing in love
Religious marry Me
I am their Spouse
Their children are the
people of the Church,
the world
8. Jesus: If one does not learn to go out
of themselves in love they
will have a problem
in either vocation:
married, religious.
Religious are not for wounded
persons to stay wounded
they are to be vibrant
filled with the Holy Spirit
alive
teaching others as witnesses
about love, unity
and community
teaching about obedience to
God's rules because
religious live obedient to
a superior
Obedience is paramount
Structure and order to
build any community
of love
There must be a superior,
a father and mother in
the family
Man does not say I answer
to nobody I can do
as I please.
9. Jesus: The Building of My Kingdom
The Strength needed in
My Church
comes from strong
women and men in love
with Jesus
families where moms and
dads deeply love
each other and
their children
To build a Kingdom based
on love
there must be
Hearts of Love
Satan wants souls for hell
He tells men, be selfish
Caved in
Isolated
Get your way
Work alone
Don't communicate
Control others
Force your dysfunction
on others your rules
Sadness
Anger
Jealousy
Envy
Working together that is My Plan.
10. Jesus: Building the Kingdom of God is
done in love
I am LOVE
I built community
I establish the Church
I worked with people
I loved them
I came to serve
not be served
Are you higher than God?
I washed their feet
I knelt before these men
I died on a cross
I carried your sins
I give you Myself
I give and give and give
and give
I am Jesus
I am God
This is what you must do to
build My Kingdom follow Me.
The Transfiguration
1. R. And He was changed before
them
2. R. Now He gave His teachings
and the Father said
"Listen to Him."
3. R. The voice of the Father was
heard
"This is My beloved Son
in whom I am
well pleased -
Listen to Him"
4. Romans 5: 5-11
and a hope which will not let us down, because the love of God has been poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit which has been given to us. When we were still helpless, at the appointed time, Christ died for the godless. You could hardly find anyone ready to die even for someone upright; though it is just possible that, for a really good person, someone might undertake to die. So it is proof of Gods own love for us, that Christ died for us while we were still sinners. How much more can we be sure, therefore, that, now that we have been justified by his death, we shall be saved through him from the retribution of God. For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, how much more can we be sure that, being now reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. What is more, we are filled with exultant trust in God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have already gained our reconciliation.
5. Jesus: I have given you vocations to
work with others
. to love God's will
. to grow to be more what the
Father intended you
to be
. to die to your evil ways
and to be more perfected
. to love and work with others,
reaching out in
these vocations
. to be obedient to God's
will
. to put aside selfishness
and isolation
. to help build the Church
in love, obedience
and truth and the Church
being leaven in
the world of My
truth, My love
and obedience to the
Father.
6. R. The Person who gives into satan
over and over again can see
how in the Old Testament the people
rebelled against God and
they suffered.
Jesus healed the leapers
He gives us the priest who can
forgive mortal sins in
confession.
The evil one lies about what
is right and what is wrong
he tries to show right is
wrong and wrong is right.
He is deceptive trying to make
communication and facts
hidden as one can play
a game of control.
7. R. Satan wants man to see power for
himself over God's will
Satan can tap into old situations
where one has lost power
from mom and dad,
relationships, at work
and the person tries to get
power back where they lost
it from innocent others.
Trying to provoke another
to anger is wrong
it is not loving as God
commands
8. R. Jesus showed the Apostles
Himself transfigured
Fr. Carter would say to me
You would fall over if you
saw your own graced soul
with all its beauty.
9. R. This life is short and every day
is a day to focus on dying
to the ways - not like Jesus
and rising more and more to
be in His image and likeness.
10. R. A person who doesn't want to
change will not change
he has a free will
We see Moses and the Pharaoh
and the plagues. Moses
told the Pharaoh to "let my people go"
but nothing would change the
Pharaoh's stubbornness.
Finally it says this in scripture
Exodus 11: 4-10
Announcement of the death of the firstborn
Moses then said, Yahweh says this, "At midnight I shall pass through Egypt, and all the firstborn in Egypt will die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh, heir to his throne, to the firstborn of the slavegirl at the mill, and all the firstborn of the livestock. And throughout Egypt there will be great wailing, such as never was before, nor will be again. But against the Israelites, whether man or beast, never a dog shall bark, so that you may know that Yahweh discriminates between Egypt and Israel. Then all these officials of yours will come down to me and, bowing low before me, say: Go away, you and all the people who follow you! After which, I shall go." And, hot with anger, he left Pharaohs presence.
Yahweh then said to Moses, Pharaoh will not listen to you, so that more of my wonders may be displayed in Egypt. Moses and Aaron worked all these wonders in Pharaohs presence, but Yahweh made Pharaoh stubborn, and he did not let the Israelites leave his country.
R. God gives us grace when people
pray for us, but the more
we sin, the deeper the
scales on our spiritual
eyes and
if God decides to let us
operate without those
gifts He may be gifting
us with
We can see that when left to
our own wounded human
nature and obstinacies
we can fall fast.
Pharaoh was obstinate
Look what happened to him
No earthly king can ever
rule over Jesus
He is the King of heaven
and earth
Why do we oppose His will
He has a plan we need to
try to see through God's eyes
to be more and more that ideal
self that God created us to be.
The Institution of the Eucharist
1. R. God has called us to relationships
Our whole life lived in relating
to others
Going out of ourselves
Jesus shows us love in giving
us the Eucharist.
2. Jesus: I give you My Body
I give you My Blood
I give you a sharing in My
life in baptism
I want to be one with you!
You can't say you love God
when you aren't loving your
neighbor.
Heaven is for lovers.
Your whole life learning about
relationships, ways of the
heart, with God and others
You need to work with others and
have this self-knowledge
of what you need to change
lying to yourself keeps
you in greater blindness
lies are from satan
3. Jesus: I have created you to give
yourself to God and others
the world suffers for your
lack of love to hoard your
unique gift of loving that
is to make a contribution
to the Church and the world.
4. Jesus: I remain with you this day
and give you Myself in
the Eucharist
then satan tells you to be
caved in, selfish, and hoard
your gifts.
Excerpt from the Priestly Newsletter
November/December 1995
On Suffering
In Gods plan, suffering is meant to lead to greater life. God tells us this with absolute clarity as we look at Jesus, the Suffering Servant. The cross of Jesus was not an end in itself, but a means to greater life for the whole human race. Our own sufferings can either be wasted or used to achieve greater life for ourselves and others. Dom Hubert Van Zeller observes: Men and women who might be turning their afflictions over to God, who have only to unite themselves in spirit with Christs passion, are found so often to stop short, and even to make of their trial further matter for selfishness. Even if we do not rebel positively against Gods providential will, we can become so preoccupied with our troubles as to leave God out of account.
Instead of making us compassionate for others we can squander compassion on ourselves. Suffering is meant to enlarge our hearts, not shrink them. With suffering goes the grace of patience, peace, fortitude, penitence and love. All this can be missed if we make the mistake of turning in upon ourselves as the result of our trials.
To the Jews the cross was a stumbling-block, and to the gentiles foolishness. What is it to us? Often it can be an emblem merely, the significance of the symbol forgotten. The cross is something in which we are, by reason of our Christian inheritance, inextricably involved. Do we yield to it or harden ourselves against it? The cross is not just two planks fitted together on a certain day in the history of the world, and of all the relics which we venerate the most sacred, but a fact of our human experience which may or may not be sacred according to what we do about it.13
To suffer properly, to use suffering according to Gods will and thereby grow through it, demands that we be persons of prayer. The light which God gives us in prayer helps us to see the purpose of suffering in His plan. The strength given to us in prayer helps us to live accordingly.
November/December 1996 (excerpt)
The recent death of Fr. Henri Nouwen, one of the most widely read of contemporary spiritual writers, offers us a special occasion to share with you the following excerpts from his voluminous writings:
"There are two realities to which you must cling. First, God has promised that you will receive the love you have been searching for. And second, God is faithful to that promise.
"So stop wandering around. Instead, come home and trust that God will bring you what you need. Your whole life you have been running about, seeking the love you desire. Now it is time to end that search. Trust that God will give you that all-fulfilling love and will give it in a human way. Before you die, God will offer you the deepest satisfaction you can desire. Just stop running and start trusting and receiving."4"Do not hesitate to love and to love deeply. You might be afraid of the pain that deep love can cause. When those you love deeply reject you, leave you, or die, your heart will be broken. But that should not hold you back from loving deeply. The pain that comes from deep love makes your love ever more fruitful."5
"The first response, then, to our brokenness is to face it squarely and befriend it. This may seem quite unnatural. Our first, most spontaneous response to pain and suffering is to avoid it, to keep it at arm's length; to ignore, circumvent or deny it. Suffering-be it physical, mental or emotional-is almost always experienced as an unwelcome intrusion into our lives, something that should not be there"
"When this is, indeed, our spontaneous attitude toward our brokenness, it is no surprise that befriending it seems, at first, masochistic. Still, my own pain in life has taught me that the first step to healing is not a step away from the pain, but a step toward it. When brokenness is, in fact, just as intimate a part of our being as our chosenness and our blessedness, we have to dare to overcome our fear and become familiar with it. Yes, we have to find the courage to embrace our brokenness, to make our most feared enemy into a friend and to claim it as an intimate companion. I am convinced that healing is often so difficult because we we don't want to know the pain. Although this is true of pain, it is especially true of the pain that comes from a broken heart. The anguish and agony that result from rejection, separation, neglect, abuse and emotional manipulation serve only to paralyze us when we can't face them and keep running away from them. When we need guidance in our suffering, it is first of all a guidance that leads us closer to our pain and makes us aware that we do not have to avoid it, but can befriend it."6"Prayer is often considered a weakness, a support system, which is used when we can no longer help ourselves. But this is only true when the God of our prayers is created in our own image and adopted to our own needs and concerns. When, however, prayer makes us reach out to God, not on our own but on his terms, then prayer pulls us away from self-preoccupation, encourages us to leave familiar ground, and challenges us to enter into a new world which cannot be contained within the narrow boundaries of our mind or heart. Prayer, therefore, is a great adventure because the God with whom we enter into a new relationship is greater than we are and defies all our calculations and predictions. The movement from illusion to prayer is hard to make since it leads us from false certainties to true uncertainties, from an easy support system to a risky surrender, and from the many 'safe' gods to the God whose love has no limits."7

5. Jesus: I am unveiling the workings
of satan in dysfunctional
families and marriages
in this world
You are commanded to
love God and love others
as yourself.
Heaven is for lovers
6. R. We should be able to go out
to others and to go in
to ourselves, reflect,
meditate on God's Plan
for us
A person frozen is living an
ice-cube existence and
growing in greater and greater
unhappiness, depression and
fear
Soon life is ended and life was
not lived at all, but
to hide the truth and
remain locked in a frozen
heart
7. R. In quiet prayer we can gather
up fragments of our
lives and throw away
those not what God wants and
gain greater council from
the Holy Spirit of God's Plan for
us. Read the Blue Book
Prayer helps us shape our
self-identity.
We see how the pieces
fit together.
We see the mysterious
uniqueness God has
called us to share in
doing His will and loving
God and others
We are accountable for
our sins and sorry
we have offend God
and hurt others, the
human family, the
Church and the world and
we pray with a firm
purpose of amendment.
8. R. We seek to be more that
ideal self God
intends us to be and
put aside the false
self-praying to be
all that God wants
us to be.
9. R. We focus on the truth
about ourselves
What we need to change
How God has used us to
do good to others.
10. Prayer for Union with Jesus
Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.
I am Yours to possess. I am Yours to use. I want to be selfless and only exist in You. Help me to spoon out all that is me and be an empty vessel ready to be filled by You. Help me to die to myself and live only for You. Use me as You will. Let me never draw my attention back to myself. I only want to operate as You do, dwelling within me.
I am Yours, Lord. I want to have my life in You. I want to do the will of the Father. Give me the strength to put aside the world and let You operate my very being. Help me to act as You desire. Strengthen me against the distractions of the devil to take me from Your work.
When I worry, I have taken my focus off of You and placed it on myself. Help me not to give in to the promptings of others to change what in my heart You are making very clear to me. I worship You, I adore You and I love You. Come and dwell in me now.
-God's Blue Book, January 17, 1994
Jesus: You are not alone
I am always with you
Do My work
Do as I want
I called you to be the leader and deliver
My way
Those who want to help souls will
respect My wishes
The devil wants My message blocked
He will work in those opposing
My will They become
driven by power and anger
It is crucial men pray to be healed
of past hurts
Wounds are like fresh to them
and satan works through
these wounds which are
fueled with age-old anger
and fresh.
The more one holds out in anger the
more they forget these old wounds
and project anger on innocent
others - with a fury from lost
love - due to their own anger
You were created to love
It is God's will you work in relationships
That all old relationships must be healed
not stuffed under a rug to
be sleeping dogs that rise
like hungry angry dogs in a
basement
Relationship is the Greatest Commandment
The more you give into your being right
as your god the more blind you become
and satan can work in pent up feelings
stuffed and pent up anger
Did you see a can stuffed with rubber
bands If you take off the lid they
go all over
Stuffed feelings
Stuffed anger are like that
So the wounded person guards their
emotions so they never lose
control
or they might fall all over like the
rubber bands
They can provoke others when they need
to express emotions
provoking and provoking to make them
angry and act out anger for them
They can be rigid, stiff and controlled
But you were created to live, be vibrant,
play, laugh
you were created to live in the now
And that space inside is not to be filled
with old wounds, stuffed emotions,
stuffed anger
You must pray to the Holy Spirit to open that
locked vault and be healed
To fill that space with the love of God
To read My letters of love
To be wounded - healers
Life is Life rooted in God
I am the Divine Healer
Depression comes from those
depriving themselves of
love by living in a locked
up hard heart
shut down with pain
Addictions come from pain
People become addicted to work,
sex, misery, anger, control,
food because of their pain
stashed inside
So they use something to not face the
pain
When self-made loneliness gets to
them they can provoke others
to act out their pain
because they can never let down
and open that can
The rubber bands will go all over they
think
It is a self-made hell opposed to God's will,
to inflict pain on others, because
of your old wounds
When living and being kind, loving
and relationships are the purpose
of life growing in truth and
love Their fear of being alone
makes them possessive in relationships
hurting others and blocking God's will
It is a play-ground for satan
Greater pain and blindness occur the more
one stays shut down
they must want to open up
the past is the past
Survival behaviors are sad, for
even though a child or person
is out of the place, they developed
the survival pattern to live under
they carry it out with innocent
others, using means to try to force
them to live their dysfunctional way
They hurt inside and keep acting out the
unfinished business in an
attempt to be free of it
But it is a dance they do with practice,
powered by stuffed pain and
desiring to live which is given
by God to live, as He wants you
to live in love
It is complete disharmony inside to God's will
A dysfunctional trap and
Trap for those who they try to make
co-dependent
Life if not life if it is not rooted
in Me and the Father's will and
the law of love
They keep choosing relationships
where they can act out
old patterned behavior.

Guiding Light - Steadfast to the Son
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle A of the Liturgical Year
$ 10.00 plus postageGuiding Light homily series - Steadfast to the Son - Cycle A — The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $15
Guiding Light - Feed My Soul
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle C of the Liturgical Year
$ 10.00 plus postageGuiding Light - Feed My Soul - Cycle C — In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $15
Guiding Light - Focusing on the Word
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Liturgical Year
$ 10.00 plus postageGuiding Light - Focusing on the Word - Cycle B — At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $15
Guiding Light - The Word Alive in Our Hearts
Inspiring Homilies covering partial year of Cycle A by Fr. Joe Robinson
$ 5.00 plus postageGuiding Light - The Word Alive in Our Hearts. - Cycle A (partial) — Homilies by the Reverend Joe Robinson given at St. Boniface Church in Cincinnati, Ohio.
