There are two kinds of actions
                selfish and unselfish —

                    Jesus shows us His selfless
                love on the cross.

September 4, 2004

Hebrews 9: 12-14

and he has entered the sanctuary once and for all, taking with him not the blood of goats and bull calves, but his own blood, having won an eternal redemption. The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkled on those who have incurred defilement, may restore their bodily purity. How much more will the blood of Christ, who offered himself, blameless as he was, to God through the eternal Spirit, purify our conscience from dead actions so that we can worship the living God.

When I love another to wish him
well — this is unselfish love.

When a man grips to some
                selfish habit that hurts others
                this is selfish love.

A man can give into anger against
another — this is selfish love where
he is angry because of hatred
in him, provoking etc. to cause
the other harm. He thinks of
himself and wishes to hurt another
because of his anger and hatred.

                    A person giving into concupiscence,
                possessiveness, lust, greed,
                envy, wanting to seek dominance
for one's vain glory is giving
                into selfishness —

                    Fr. Carter defines love

Love is the gift of self to promote the true good of those loved.
He states the reception of love is the receiving of the gift of the other,
so my good will be promoted.

                    Selfish love is not necessarily
                evil.

                    Self-love leads us to be
more and more like Christ —
more and more like our heavenly
                Father —

Matthew 5: 48

...You must therefore be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect.’

                    We were made to seek
greater perfection — to want to
                be more perfected as our
                heavenly Father is perfect.

                    God wants us to love
                ourselves to grow in greater
                perfection —

God wants us to love others —
                sharing sorrows and joys —
                our lives shared with other
men. God intended us to walk
                hand-in-hand in this life
                here below.

When we love — we seek
to know — we want goodness
and we try to be in one mind
                and one heart united —
                there is that unity we
have in knowing, loving and serving God.

A man who doesn't love himself
will probably not love others —

Fr. Carter talks about the 3
loves — love of God, love of
                each other, love of self.

One cannot be missing one of these
                to have genuine love.

We love the Father's will —
                we love ourselves and strive
                for greater perfection because
we realize God loves us and
this is His will for us to be
                more perfected as our heavenly
                Father is perfect.

                    In loving God above all
                things like the greatest commandment

Matthew 22: 36-40

'Master, which is the greatest commandment of the Law?' Jesus said to him, 'You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second resembles it: You must love your neighbour as yourself. On these two commandments hang the whole Law, and the Prophets too.'

                    We see the 3 loves

God has called us to be one —

John 17: 21-23

May they all be one,
just as, Father, you are in me
   and I am in you,
so that they also may be in us,
so that the world may believe
it was you who sent me.
I have given them the glory
   you gave to me,
that they may be one as we are one.
With me in them and you in me,
may they be so perfected in unity
that the world will recognise
that it was you who sent me
and that you have loved them
as you have loved me.

                    Look at the intimacy God
                wants with man —

Look at how Jesus prays in John 17
for that intimacy for us with
                God —

We have this deep love for self
and others because we love God
and it is His will we grow in
the 3 loves, Love of God, love of
                others, love of self —

Hebrews 10: 5-10

You wanted no sacrifice or cereal offering,
but you gave me a body.
You took no pleasure in burnt offering'
   or sacrifice for sin;
then I said, 'Here I am, I am coming,'
in the scroll of the book it is written of me,
to do your will, God.

He says first You did not want what the Law lays down as the things to be offered, that is: the sacrifices, the cereal offerings, the burnt offerings and the sacrifices for sin, and you took no pleasure in them; and then he says: Here I am! I am coming to do your will. He is abolishing the first sort to establish the second. And this will was for us to be made holy by the offering of the body of Jesus Christ made once and for all.

This is not three separate things —
Because of our love for God we seek
His will — we want to please Him —
we want the God we love to see
                us as beautiful souls filled
with love. This is seeking love,
beauty for the one loved —

                    Is seeing ourselves so loved
by God — and in sharing more and
more in His life — we want to
love ourselves to be as He wants
us to be — because we love His
will so much — we seek goodness —
to be more like God —

We want to love to be like He is —
We want to bring this love and goodness
                    to others —

                    God is love
                    God loved us first

It is our response to God's
love — loving as He desires —

                Loving God first

Loving ourselves to be more like
                    God wants us to be

                Loving others — because that
                    love overflows and we
                    want what God wants in
                    this world

Hebrews 9: 8-13

By this, the Holy Spirit means us to see that as long as the old tent stands, the way into the holy place is not opened up; it is a symbol for this present time. None of the gifts and sacrifices offered under these regulations can possibly bring any worshipper to perfection in his conscience; they are rules about outward life, connected with food and drink and washing at various times, which are in force only until the time comes to set things right. But now Christ has come, as the high priest of all the blessings which were to come. He has passed through the greater, the more perfect tent, not made by human hands, that is, not of this created order; and he has entered the sanctuary once and for all, taking with him not the blood of goats and bull calves, but his own blood, having won an eternal redemption. The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkled on those who have incurred defilement, may restore their bodily purity.

Dear God let us see with your eyes
                    that we will seek holiness
                    and not rebelliousness
                    against God's law —
the commandments given to Moses —

That we will live holy lives wanting to
                    serve You

You, God the Father, have sent Mary
as a messenger at Fatima to
                    teach us to convert and
                    repent —
to live lives likened to You
                    our God —
                    in loving and serving according
                        to Your will

                To love Your will as
                We know Jesus loved Your
                    will that He gave His
                    life on a tree —

Where Adam and Eve sinned, disobeyed
                    You —

The New Adam, Jesus Christ, Our Savior
came to show us we are to obey
                You —

Jesus obeyed You to His death on
                    the cross —

                In this lies our peace

We see Mary under the cross at
                    Calvary and we see Jesus
                    dying on the cross

Mary and Jesus obeyed the will
                    of the Father —

Jesus died in perfect peace —

In the suffering of Mary beneath
the cross — there was perfect
                    peace.

Our peace lies in this doing the Father's
                    will in love —

                Living in love

                Loving God's will

For loving Your will God is
                    my delight

Loving so I play my little
part of living to do the
                    Father's will — united to
the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross —

       e) Relationship with Members of the Church
There is but one true Church of Christ. Yet this one Church has three different states of existence. There is the pilgrim Church, the Church of this world, composed of members who have received the grace of Christ and strive for its development. They have not yet obtained the goal of their efforts, as have the members of the heavenly Church, who enjoy God in eternal happiness. The Church suffering is an intermediate state of existence necessary for those who had not achieved the required purification as members of the pilgrim Church. Although there are these three phases of the Church's existence, there is a profound union existing between all the members. All these members possess the same basic life of grace in Christ, and this common life establishes the most intimate bonds of love. In our preceding chapter, we discussed the pilgrim Church. Let us now consider the Church suffering and the heavenly Church.

The members of the Church suffering are those who have departed from this life in an incomplete state of Christian development. Their development is incomplete in the sense that grace has not fully taken possession of them, and, as a result, they are yet closed in upon themselves to a greater or lesser degree. They as yet cannot open themselves out in complete love to the Triune God in the beatific vision. They must undergo a further purification, a purification which could have been achieved upon earth with merit. Now the purification must be achieved with no merit attached. The pain of this purification is mixed with the certain expectation of achieving the vision of God. We can hasten the advent of this vision for this people by the offering of prayers and other good works. Scripture itself refers to our action on behalf of those in purgatory in Chapter 12 of the Second Book of Maccabees beginning with verse 38.

The members of the heavenly Church are those in whom the life of grace has taken full possession and has reached its completion in the life of glory. Faith now is unnecessary, as the light of glory gives the human intellect a new strength and capacity for seeing God face-to-face. While the Christian was a wayfarer, he received the imprint of the indwelling Trinity as he shared in God's own life. Now in heaven that grace-life and possession of God reaches its completion—the absolute completion is not achieved, however, until the resurrection of the body. The divine persons give Themselves to the beatified in a profound union far surpassing that of the indwelling of the Trinity experienced here below.

This life of heaven is still the Christ-life, for just as we possess a share in Trinitarian life here below as mediated by Christ, and exercise this grace-life as structured by Him, so also in heaven is the mediation of Christ present. In the words of Rahner, "One always sees the Father through Jesus. Just as immediately as this, for the directness of the vision of God is not a denial of the mediatorship of Christ as man."
13 And not only does the humanity of Christ unite the blessed to God, but also, in some way, to the whole of creation. This is merely a completion of what is begun here below, namely, the union with Christ in His humanity establishing the Christian in a special relationship with God, with other men, and with the whole of creation. We have a glimpse, therefore, of the fullness of life which members of the heavenly Church possess.

The heavenly Church, as St. Thomas says, is the true Church.
14 The Church of this earth and the Church of purgatory are, each in its own way, reaching out in loving hope for the heavenly Jerusalem. Vatican II puts it very simply: "The Church, to which we are called in Christ Jesus, and in which we acquire sanctity through the grace of God, will attain her full perfection only in the glory of heaven."15

The members of the heavenly Church can help us in living our life of grace until we too share its fullness with them. Their power of intercession on our behalf is but another ramification of the communal aspect of Christianity. We are meant to help others grow in Christ. We, in turn, are intended by God to receive aid from others—yes, from members of the heavenly Church, as well as from those with whom we dwell here below.

Not only can we be aided by the saints' intercession, but the example of the canonized saints can also be of great value to us. They have concretely proved that full holiness is possible. Such an inspiration is of real worth when we are tempted to think that Christian sanctity in its higher degrees is impossible of attainment. Moreover, the canonized saints, in their diversity, teach us that there are many authentic versions of Christian holiness. They can be innovators in showing us that there are numerous possibilities in assimilating the mystery of Christ, although the basic assimilation remains the same for all Christians of all times. In the opinion of Rahner this is one of the chief roles the canonized saints exert in the life of the Church.

                Jesus:

My people read Hebrews 11 —

                Your faith is lacking —

Look at their faith to believe in the
                    power of God and obedience
                    to My commands

Look at the faith of Moses

                The faith of your ancestors

                The faith of Noah

                The faith of Abraham

These men witnessed to you, but
you do not read and study
the Word as you should —

I feed you with My Word
                    and the Eucharist —

                You scamper around like blind
men looking for some ray of
                    light that you might see,
but every day you affix your
                    blindfolds to your eyes and
                    reach with the desires of
                    the belly —
You look to the mud —

I put clay in the blind man's eyes
                    that he might see —
                    Believe My people
                    Your eyes are blind
                    Your faith waning
                    You fill your face with
ho-ho's and wonder why you cannot
solve the mess you are in —

You plug up your ears —

Give into vices that are habits
                    that make you sick

And sit like stone men waiting
                    a rescue donut —
                    when you, yourselves
                    chose your own dilemma
                        by your disobedience

You are to look up to Your
                    heavenly Father and see
                    through His eyes not
down to the dung heap pile —

                I cry bloody tears —

From the cross I saw you, whom
I have called today to be
                    leaders — through eyes of
Blood I called you to be
                    strong for this day —
holy and obedient to My will —
                    holy in your works —
                    Not being rebellious and
                    giving into your willful
                        tainted human nature —

Sit on your pity pots no longer —

Do not give into satan —

                Be actors —
                    soldiers of My army

Not reactors to satan's prodding —

You have a free will —

                You have an intellect

                Seek greater knowledge of your
God lest you fall into a
                    pit

Love with your heart the things
                    of God

Love the souls I died for

Be actors — Soldiers of My
                    Sacred Heart

Set the world on fire with My love —

Let your hearts be likened to Mine —

Song: Give Me Your Heart Oh Jesus

                God the Father:

                Don't give into debauchery

                Don't condone the disobedience
                    of willful men

Live to serve Me and do
                    God's will

I am your heavenly Father —

Excerpt from Response to God's Love,

by Father Edward Carter, S.J.

                                 1

The Mystery of Christ and
            Christian Existence

...In reference to Christianity, God himself is the ultimate mystery. Radically, God is completely other and transcendent, hidden from man in his inner life, unless he chooses to reveal himself. Let us briefly look at this inner life of God.

The Father, in a perfect act of self-expression, in a perfect act of knowing, generates his son. The Son, the Word, is, then, the immanent expression of God's fullness, the reflection of the Father. Likewise, from all eternity, the Father and the Son bring forth the Holy Spirit in a perfect act of loving.

At the destined moment in human history, God's self-expression, the Word, immersed himself into man's world. God's inner self-expression now had also become God's outer self-expression. Consequently, the mystery of God becomes the mystery of Christ. In Christ, God tells us about himself, about his inner life, about his plan of creation and redemption. He tells us how Father, Son, and Holy Spirit desire to dwell within us in the most intimate fashion, how they wish to share with us their own life through grace. All this he has accomplished and does accomplish through Christ. St. Paul tells us: "I became a minister of this Church through the commission God gave me to preach among you his word in its fullness, that mystery hidden from ages and generations past but now revealed to his holy ones. God has willed to make known to them the glory beyond price which this mystery brings to the Gentiles—the mystery of Christ in you, your hope of glory. This is the Christ we proclaim while we admonish all men and teach them in the full measure of wisdom, hoping to make every man complete in Christ" (Col 1:25-28).

John 3: 16

For this is how God loved the world:
he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him
    may not perish
but may have eternal life.

Hebrews 12: 14-29

Seek peace with all people, and the holiness without which no one can ever see the Lord. Be careful that no one is deprived of the grace of God and that no root of bitterness should begin to grow and make trouble; this can poison a large number. And be careful that there is no immoral person, or anyone worldly minded like Esau, who sold his birthright for one single meal. As you know, when he wanted to obtain the blessing afterwards, he was rejected and, though he pleaded for it with tears, he could find no way of reversing the decision.

What you have come to is nothing known to the senses: not a blazing fire, or gloom or total darkness, or a storm; or trumpet-blast or the sound of a voice speaking which made everyone that heard it beg that no more should be said to them. They could not bear the order that was given: If even a beast touches the mountain, it must be stoned. The whole scene was so terrible that Moses said, 'I am afraid and trembling.' But what you have come to is Mount Zion and the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem where the millions of angels have gathered for the festival, with the whole Church of first-born sons, enrolled as citizens of heaven. You have come to God himself, the supreme Judge, and to the spirits of the upright who have been made perfect; and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to purifying blood which pleads more insistently than Abel's. Make sure that you never refuse to listen when he speaks. If the people who on earth refused to listen to a warning could not escape their punishment, how shall we possibly escape if we turn away from a voice that warns us from heaven? That time his voice made the earth shake, but now he has given us this promise: I am going to shake the earth once more and not only the earth but heaven as well. The words once more indicate the removal of what is shaken, since these are created things, so that what is not shaken remains. We have been given possession of an unshakeable kingdom. Let us therefore be grateful and use our gratitude to worship God in the way that pleases him, in reverence and fear. For our God is a consuming fire.

Cling to Me

May 3, 1993

Jesus: My dear child, if you stay close to Me, then I live in you and you live in Me. I am He Who created you and I love you with such an intensity that you will never know. My words are your truth. You must abide in My heart in all things. There is no room for doubt. My ways are steadfast, direct, and without error.

You must stay rooted in Me to ward off the power of the evil one. His grip is paralyzing and crippling. His power is stronger every day.

When you live in Me, I am in your heart and he has no power over Me. I am your God. I am your true lover. I want to protect you. I want to guard you from this force. Stay rooted firmly in Me and he will have no power.

I am He Who comforts you. My hand is upon you. Hold tight to Me, My child. My eyes are fixed right on you. You are My most precious child. I love you as no other can. My arms are about you. My tenderness surrounds you. My love is in your heart. You go not alone. I walk with you.

I share every aspect of your life with you. Cling to Me, feel My presence. It is warm and secure within your chest. There is no room for fear, for I cast out fear and bring you comfort and joy.

end of May 13, 1993 message

John 8: 43-47

Why do you not understand what I say? Because you cannot bear to listen to my words. You are from your father, the devil, and you prefer to do what your father wants. He was a murderer from the start; he was never grounded in the truth; there is no truth in him at all. When he lies he is speaking true to his nature, because he is a liar, and the father of lies. But it is because I speak the truth that you do not believe me. Can any of you convict me of sin? If I speak the truth, why do you not believe me?

Revelation 21: 8

But the legacy for cowards, for those who break their word, or worship obscenities, for murderers and the sexually immoral, and for sorcerers, worshippers of false gods or any other sort of liars, is the second death in the burning lake of sulphur.'

Revelation 21: 27

Nothing unclean may come into it: no one who does what is loathsome or false, but only those who are listed in the Lamb's book of life.

                God is light

1 John 1: 5-10

This is what we have heard from him and are declaring to you:
God is light,
and there is no darkness in him at all.
If we say that we share in God’s life
while we are living in darkness,
we are lying,
because we are not living the truth.
But if we live in light,
as he is in light,
we have a share in another’s life,
and the blood of Jesus, his Son,
cleanses us from all sin.

If we say, ‘We have no sin,’
we are deceiving ourselves,
and truth has no place in us;
if we acknowledge our sins,
he is trustworthy and upright,
so that he will forgive our sins
and will cleanse us from all evil.
If we say, ‘We have never sinned,’
we make him a liar,
and his word has no place in us.

Hebrews 10: 26-30

If, after we have been given knowledge of the truth, we should deliberately commit any sins, then there is no longer any sacrifice for them. There is left only the dreadful prospect of judgement and of the fiery wrath that is to devour your enemies. Anyone who disregards the Law of Moses is ruthlessly put to death on the word of two witnesses or three; and you may be sure that anyone who tramples on the Son of God, and who treats the blood of the covenant which sanctified him as if it were not holy, and who insults the Spirit of grace, will be condemned to a far severer punishment. We are all aware who it was that said: Vengeance is mine; I will pay them back. And again: The Lord will vindicate his people.

                    and end.

An evil act comes from doing
                    evil things —

It is because of the disorder of
original sin that makes it easy
                    to fall into sin.

God gave Adam a free gift —
                    Adam sinned against God
                    God is just —

All of us human creatures have original sin except
                    Mary who was conceived without
                    original sin.

Mary is pure gift — given to man
as the New Eve, their spiritual
                    Mother.

Man comes into this world with
                    original sin — that means
                    he has disorder in his
                    human powers

When we sin it leads to other
                    sins.

                A capital sin is a vice —

It is an evil inclination that
                    moves man to evil actions.
(man chooses evil because he has an evil inclination)

                    A man concerned with his
                appearance, because of pride,
                can commit sins for appearance
                sake before others

                    The seven capital sins are
                pride, covetousness, gluttony,
                lust, envy, anger, sloth.

                    These are all disordered inclinations.

Romans 8: 5-9

Those who are living by their natural inclinations have their minds on the things human nature desires; those who live in the Spirit have their minds on spiritual things. And human nature has nothing to look forward to but death, while the Spirit looks forward to life and peace, because the outlook of disordered human nature is opposed to God, since it does not submit to God's Law, and indeed it cannot, and those who live by their natural inclinations can never be pleasing to God. You, however, live not by your natural inclinations, but by the Spirit, since the Spirit of God has made a home in you. Indeed, anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.

A proud man seeks his own
excellence — he will lie or cheat
because he is so concerned with
                his reputation.

An angry man may seek to
                destroy others because of his
                own anger.

                    A slothful man omits doing
                what he should do.

One who is coveting riches will
                do things against justice because
                he wants wealth for himself.

Every man has a free will —
It is reduced to choice, if a
                man makes a good confession
God can give him the grace to
avoid a sin, but he has a free
will to choose good or evil —

                The devil can tempt someone,
but they have a free will to
                choose good or evil —

                    We must take responsibility
for when we sin — if we sin
it is our own fault —

Sin is because of our own
bad will — We make our own
                unhappiness when we sin —
                Habits of sinning become worse
and worse as we give in
                    more and more.

God can give us grace to
help us build virtues, but we
have a free will to choose
virtue or vice — If we choose
                virtue we are choosing happiness
                for ourselves —

                    A wise man wants virtues
and prays for grace to cultivate
                them, choosing wisely by
using his will for good —
                he is not unhappy because
of sin — The happy man is
                the virtuous man.

A man who is virtuous has
                harmony between himself and
                God and works harmoniously
                with others.

                    A man because of original
                sin has a disordered human
                nature.

Man must choose right reason and
live to do good living according
to the Father's will if he wants
                to be happy. Original sin
is a disorder in the soul of
                man.

The sin of Adam has made all
                men sinful (except Mary)

1 Corinthians 15: 20-28

In fact, however, Christ has been raised from the dead, as the first-fruits of all who have fallen asleep. As it was by one man that death came, so through one man has come the resurrection of the dead. Just as all die in Adam, so in Christ all will be brought to life; but all of them in their proper order: Christ the first-fruits, and next, at his coming, those who belong to him. After that will come the end, when he will hand over the kingdom to God the Father, having abolished every principality, every ruling force and power. For he is to be king until he has made his enemies his footstool, and the last of the enemies to be done away with is death, for he has put all things under his feet. But when it is said everything is subjected, this obviously cannot include the One who subjected everything to him. When everything has been subjected to him, then the Son himself will be subjected to the One who has subjected everything to him, so that God may be all in all.

We can lead other men to sin —
                Bad company corrupts good
                    morals

1 Corinthians 15: 30-34

And what about us? Why should we endanger ourselves every hour of our lives? I swear by the pride that I take in you, in Christ Jesus our Lord, that I face death every day. If I fought wild animals at Ephesus in a purely human perspective, what had I to gain by it? If the dead are not going to be raised, then Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall be dead. So do not let anyone lead you astray, 'Bad company corrupts good ways.'

Man has been called to produce
                    good fruit —

Adam and Eve disobeyed God —

1 Corinthians 15: 25

For he is to be king until he has made his enemies his footstool,...

The Holy Spirit helps us to have
order — to pray for the fruits of
the Holy Spirit — they are
                charity, joy, peace, patience,
                benignity, goodness, long-suffering,
                mildness, faith, modesty,
                continency and chastity.

                Good habits are called virtues
Bad habits are called vices —
Virtues help us to be more and
more in the image of God —
                We are pursuing truth and
goodness — We seek truth —
                we seek goodness

One who lies and tries to
prove he is right — is a liar
                twice removed —

the act of lying can be followed
                by horrendous actions of lying
                about one's actions — further
                deepening the evil and then
                acting aggressive in punishing
others who are trying to get at
                the truth —

                    the actions are lying
                                            lying
                                            punishing

blocking the truth to be known

                The result is great unhappiness
                    in this sin, darkness,
                    isolation, disharmony

                These habits of lying develop
more and more to lead to
                    greater darkness and unrest
                    for the soul

Working for good habits is an
                    art of loving God and
                    seeking good and truth —

John 16: 12-15

I still have many things to say to you
but they would be too much for you
    to bear now.
However, when the Spirit of truth comes
he will lead you to the complete truth,
since he will not be speaking
    of his own accord,
but will say only what he has been told;
and he will reveal to you
    the things to come.
He will glorify me,
since all he reveals to you
will be taken from what is mine.
Everything the Father has is mine;
that is why I said:
all he reveals to you
will be taken from what is mine.

                Dear God forgive us
                    give us Your mercy
We have sinned and hurt ourselves
                        and others hiding the truth

                    Forgive us Lord —

                    We love You

2 Corinthians 5: 20 - 6: 2

So we are ambassadors for Christ; it is as though God were urging you through us, and in the name of Christ we appeal to you to be reconciled to God. For our sake he made the sinless one a victim for sin, so that in him we might become the uprightness of God.

As his fellow-workers, we urge you not to let your acceptance of his grace come to nothing. As he said, 'At the time of my favour I have answered you; on the day of salvation I have helped you'; well, now is the real time of favour, now the day of salvation is here.

Oh God we are sorry for our
                    sins —

God gave us a covenant —

Genesis 9: 8-15

God spoke as follows to Noah and his sons, ‘I am now establishing my covenant with you and with your descendants to come, and with every living creature that was with you: birds, cattle and every wild animal with you; everything that came out of the ark, every living thing on earth. And I shall maintain my covenant with you: that never again shall all living things be destroyed by the waters of a flood, nor shall there ever again be a flood to devastate the earth.’

‘And this’, God said, ‘is the sign of the covenant which I now make between myself and you and every living creature with you for all ages to come: I now set my bow in the clouds and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. When I gather the clouds over the earth and the bow appears in the clouds, I shall recall the covenant between myself and you and every living creature, in a word all living things, and never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all living things. When the bow is in the clouds I shall see it and call to mind the eternal covenant between God and every living creature on earth, that is, all living things.’

                Oh God Your ways
                    are love and truth

1 Peter 3: 18-22

Christ himself died once and for all for sins, the upright for the sake of the guilty, to lead us to God. In the body he was put to death, in the spirit he was raised to life, and, in the spirit, he went to preach to the spirits in prison. They refused to believe long ago, while God patiently waited to receive them, in Noah’s time when the ark was being built. In it only a few, that is eight souls, were saved through water. It is the baptism corresponding to this water which saves you now—not the washing off of physical dirt but the pledge of a good conscience given to God through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has entered heaven and is at God’s right hand, with angels, ruling forces and powers subject to him.

                God tested Abraham

                Abraham was willing to sacrifice
                    his son —

God brought us out of the land of
Egypt — out of slavery —

The Ten Commandments

  1. I am the Lord your God; you shall not have strange gods before Me.

  2. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.

  3. Remember to keep holy the Sabbath day.

  4. Honor your father and your mother.

  5. You shall not kill.

  6. You shall not commit adultery.

  7. You shall not steal.

  8. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

  9. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife.

  10. You shall not covet your neighbor's goods.

God blesses us why do we
                    grumble and test Our
                    God?

Why do we keep our hard
                    hearts that bring us
                    unhappiness?

John 4: 13-14

Jesus replied:

    Whoever drinks this water
    will be thirsty again;
but no one who drinks the water
        that I shall give
    will ever be thirsty again:
the water that I shall give
will become a spring of water within,
        welling up for eternal life.

We are given the sacrament of
                    baptism in the Church

God sent Mary to CLEAR - WATER

Jesus: You have mocked My messengers —
return to Me with all your
heart — I send this messenger to
                    you to bring about the
                    Reign of My Sacred Heart.

                R. Jesus is the Light of the World —

Why do we choose darkness —
evil ways — ways against God's will

John 3: 20-21

And indeed, everybody who does wrong hates the light and avoids it, to prevent his actions from being shown up; but whoever does the truth comes out into the light, so that what he is doing may plainly appear as done in God.'

Ephesians 5: 8-14

You were darkness once, but now you are light in the Lord; behave as children of light, for the effects of the light are seen in complete goodness and uprightness and truth. Try to discover what the Lord wants of you, take no part in the futile works of darkness but, on the contrary, show them up for what they are. The things which are done in secret are shameful even to speak of; but anything shown up by the light will be illuminated and anything illuminated is itself a light. That is why it is said: Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.

Remember the Gospel of John and
                    the blind man — Chapter 9 —
                    right before the Good Shepherd
                    Gospel —

                How blind are we

John 9: 11

He answered, ‘The man called Jesus made a paste, daubed my eyes with it and said to me, "Go off and wash at Siloam"; so I went, and when I washed I gained my sight.’

Oh God wipe out my offense,

                    Wash me

                    Cleanse me

Help me God for I am a sinner —

                Give me joy God —

I love You so much —

God - Be merciful to us for we have sinned —

Romans 8: 8-11

and those who live by their natural inclinations can never be pleasing to God. You, however, live not by your natural inclinations, but by the Spirit, since the Spirit of God has made a home in you. Indeed, anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. But when Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin but the spirit is alive because you have been justified; and if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead has made his home in you, then he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will give life to your own mortal bodies through his Spirit living in you.

Lazarus rose from the dead —

We must believe in the Might
of God and have faith in Him.
