Philippians 4: 4-5

Luke 1: 46-55

And Mary said:

My soul proclaims
    the greatness of the Lord
and my spirit rejoices
    in God my Saviour;
because he has looked upon
    the humiliation of his servant.
Yes, from now onwards
    all generations will call me blessed,
for the Almighty
    has done great things for me.
Holy is his name,
and his faithful love extends age after age
    to those who fear him.
He has used the power of his arm,
he has routed the arrogant of heart.
He has pulled down princes
    from their thrones
        and raised high the lowly.
He has filled the starving with good things,
    sent the rich away empty.
He has come to the help
    of Israel his servant,
        mindful of his faithful love
—according to the promise
    he made to our ancestors—
of his mercy to Abraham
    and to his descendants for ever.

1 Thessalonians 5: 16-24

Always be joyful; pray constantly; and for all things give thanks; this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus. Do not stifle the Spirit or despise the gift of prophecy with contempt; test everything and hold on to what is good  and shun every form of evil. May the God of peace make you perfect and holy; and may your spirit, life and body be kept blameless for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who has called you is trustworthy and will carry it out.

John 1: 6-8, 19-28

A man came, sent by God.
His name was John.
He came as a witness,
To bear witness to the light,
So that everyone might believe through him.
He was not the light,
He was to bear witness to the light.

This was the witness of John, when the Jews sent to him priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, ‘Who are you?’ He declared, he did not deny but declared, ‘I am not the Christ.’ So they asked, ‘Then are you Elijah?’ He replied, ‘I am not.’ ‘Are you the Prophet?’ He answered, ‘No.’ So they said to him, ‘Who are you? We must take back an answer to those who sent us. What have you to say about yourself?’ So he said, ‘I am, as Isaiah prophesied: 

    A voice of one that cries in the desert: 
    Prepare a way for the Lord. 
    Make his paths straight!’ 

Now those who had been sent were Pharisees, and they put this question to him, ‘Why are you baptising if you are not the Christ, and not Elijah, and not the Prophet?’ John answered them, ‘I baptise with water; but standing among you—unknown to you— is the one who is coming after me; and I am not fit to undo the strap of his sandal.’ This happened at Bethany, on the far side of the Jordan, where John was baptising.

                Jesus:

                Let not your hearts be troubled

                Sing praise to your God with harp
                    and cymbal

                Let the heavens hear your song and
                In one accord

                Shout your joy for Jesus

                the Savior of mankind

                For I came a baby in the womb of
                    My Mother

                I came to show the world love

                To whisper the coos you needed to hear

                The coos of the Savior

                So night was dark

                And I had no place to stay

                Where is your heart this Christmas?

                Are you so caught in your tinsel
                    that when I come — you are
                    too busy for Me?

                Eating is for health,

                but too much of a good thing shows
                    you have gone too far

                too little is the other extreme

                Why can't you live your lives in
                    peace?

                Let go, I will take you by the hand

                I will be your rear guard

                I will be your fore guard

                I will sing when you sing

                I will act in you —

                spread My peace to the world

                R. Oh Lord I am letting go now —

                Each day comes by itself

                Each minute has its own name

                The hours are gone at the end of
                    this day

                We can create our own drudgery

                We make our own resistance

                We are to be as a child, nursing
                    at our Mother's breast

                A child obeying Our Father

                Who has the Plan anyway?

                Jesus: So many have such an agenda

                    Where are you going?

                    Surrender to Me.

                    Now let go, lest you make a
                        big mess.

                    You say

                        "Oh Jesus, I am busy and I
                            have to go"
                        and I watch you like little
                            ants building your little
                            kingdoms made on sand

                I have called you to help Me to
                    bring the Reign of My Heart
                    to men's heart

                Some caught like you

                Agenda

                Like a doctor with their appointments

                Agendas of your own making

                Add your tension to the mix

                Your ball and chain

                No wonder you are tired — you
                    make yourself just tired to
                    breathe

                The mind runs —
                    tinsel and balls and everything
                    nice while you run a
                    quick shop on your thoughts

                If a fire occurs you simple say
                    "No time"

                But the kind soul watching you
                    says
                    "Oh your house is burning
                    down"

                You say let me arrange the
                    ornaments, not noticing
                    the stairs are on fire

                Blind men — do not see so
                    good —

                Be awake—

                I came in poverty to a world much
                    like yours

                No where for the King of Glory to
                    lay His head

                Slow down

                Do it for Me

                Focus on God the Father

                You are going nowhere too fast —

                Can you come and pray with Me
                    now

                Surrender to Me —

                You are busy doing your own will and
                    you have made yourself mad
                    doing it

                Come and feel My peace

                There is peace for you and

                A new day waiting — living a day
                    of the Lord

                Are you ready for My adventure?

                R. Take me Lord into Your hands —

                Everything is Yours

                I now have time to be awake to the
                    moment

                To just let go and experience the fresh
                    air

                Jesus: A cookie makes smells

                Fresh baked cookies

                It says — someone is caring to send
                    you a new cookie

                I send you My spiritual donut —
                    a life saver —
                    you hold on to Me — always —

                Busy, Busy, knock me over

                Lets do my thing —

                Why you had no love in all your
                    actions —
                    they were agendas you concocted
                    so others would think you
                    are loving
                    "oh she is so sweet"

                Why weren't you focusing on the
                    Mystery of the Incarnation —

                Think of that —
                    now I give you a ticket to freedom —

                Quit being hung up on what other people
                    think of you

                Do what the Father wants you to do

                Loving as He wants you to do

                Obeying God's will for you - in love —

                In peace

                Being awake in it — not pulled by
                    your own directions

             LET GO TO DOING

                 GOD'S WILL IN

                     LOVE —

                Like a little child — consumed with love
                    for daddy and pleasing him —
                    daddy, daddy, I did my chores —
                    I love you daddy

                Rest a while on what God wants —
                    Resting and being free of the
                    rat - race —
                    doing things without your resistance

                "Oh but you say — do it willingly —
                    I would have to be  —
                    Right — going along in unity —
                    that's it —
                    does the big toe tell the finger
                    to get lost —

                No the body operates and the toe needs
                    the finger

                Do you get anxious with the eye
                    and pluck it out

                I don't think so — you would
                    have problems seeing and
                    sleeping and — all the things
                    the eye does

                The toe needs the finger
                The toe needs the eye

                I made the body — have you
                    learned more about how the parts of
                    the body all work in unity —

                Some people turn off their hearts and
                    measure their waists —

                Oh My people —
                    live in the Plan of the Father
                        let go now
                        let go now

                You there — your teeth are clenched —
                    you are like a tight rubber
                    band —
                    if some one touches you —
                    you will hear a snap

                Give some slack — little busy men —
                Give some slack

                Pulled tight — what for

                Your days are numbered aright

                I put you here for My purpose
                    to love and serve God

                As soon as you got here you were
                    saying —

                "I got a life going on here
                One for my agenda and
                every body better get on my plan"

                What is the plan for 60 days from now
                    smart one —

                Oh you don't know, probably this and that

                Well - let me tell you

                60 days ago — you never dreamt how
                    things in the world would turn
                    upside down like they have —

                You are holding onto a life saver
                    with a hole in it

                Some kids learn to swim

                Some don't

                You better learn some things for this
                    spiritual journey

                Or you will be like the kid in
                    deep water that does not
                    know how to swim

                I give you the commandments

                I give you My Word

                I teach you about love, kindness

                And the dumb ones say —

                Let the world center around me

                Let me teach you my imperfect ways

                Reach up to God

                The Plan for the creatures was made
                    by the Creator

                Where are you, anyway —

                Making a cook book for life
                    entitled
                        "I did it my way"

                Your cook book has too much curry —
                    No one would eat it

                You used sugar instead of flour and
                    when it asked for 1 teaspoon
                    baking soda —
                    you put in a cup and
                    every one hated the bitter
                    taste

                Yet you still said
                    Here is your cookbook
                    Do it MY WAY — cooking everyday
                        for the dumb one —

                Suzy Smart came and she had
                    the Word —
                    She cooked up her life MY way —

                I am the way, the truth and the life
                    I give you the commandments
                    to live by
                    to be happy

                Pray for greater faith

                Believe in what you do and live
                    by the Father's will

                Seek to see through the eyes of
                    God

                having the vision of God the Father

                not seeing through the tainted eyes
                    of others and the world in need
                    of renewal

                Hope — hope moves a man to seek
                    God

                Thirst after the beatific vision
                    for your eternity —
                    forever wrapped in the embrace
                        of God

                Hope in God

                Believe in God's plan with all
                    your heart

                Love with every action you
                    perform

                You do it in love for God
                You do it in love for others               

                We seek the vision of God

                This is faith —

                We seek God

                We want His Plan

                We believe God is assisting us
                    in attaining this

                Man has faith and hope in his
                    heart —

                We seek to be possessed by
                    God

Prayer for Union with Jesus

    Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.

    I am Yours to possess. I am Yours to use. I want to be selfless and only exist in You. Help me to spoon out all that is me and be an empty vessel ready to be filled by You. Help me to die to myself and live only for You. Use me as You will. Let me never draw my attention back to myself. I only want to operate as You do, dwelling within me.

    I am Yours, Lord. I want to have my life in You. I want to do the will of the Father. Give me the strength to put aside the world and let You operate my very being. Help me to act as You desire. Strengthen me against the distractions of the devil to take me from Your work.

    When I worry, I have taken my focus off of You and placed it on myself. Help me not to give in to the promptings of others to change what in my heart You are making very clear to me. I worship You, I adore You and I love You. Come and dwell in me now.

                We know that God will
                    assist us in our pursuit
                    of happiness to possess Him —

                We hope for this

                Faith opens the door for hope
                    in the heart —

                We love God for the sake of
                    loving God —
                    He is all good and
                    He deserves our love
                    We were created to love God —

                Some people don't do anything without
                    an ulterior motive of getting
                    something for themselves

                The man advancing in the spiritual
                    life wants what God wants —
                    he loves God's will —
                    he seeks to be obedient to God —
                    the focus is not on the self
                    at all
                    he is an empty vessel ready
                        to be filled by God
                    he is an instrument for
                        God's holy purpose and
                        design

                God is ready to assist man to attain
                    true happiness in Him —

                Man just loves God for the sake
                    of loving God

                We are led by hope to love God
                    and keep His commandments
                    in our pursuit of God
                    giving us our heavenly
                    reward —

                But a man advancing in love —
                    just loves God for God —

                God knows all things and He is
                    with us helping us in our goal for
                    everlasting happiness —

                We hope to be in heaven some
                    day —

                We love God and others just because
                    we love God

                Man must realize that this
                    is a journey here —
                    we are either advancing
                        in the spiritual life or
                    we can abandon the will
                        of God and we can sin and even
                        lose eternal life because
                        of our mortal sins —

                We have a free will

                We have a choice

                        LIFE                      DEATH

                Song: Life or Death

                God can give us the grace to do better —
                    especially after being advised
                    by a spiritual director —
                    going to confession etc. and
                    we can walk away and
                    get deeper and deeper into
                    darkness — blinding ourselves
                    to how really dark we can
                    be stuck through our own stubborn will —

                A person reaching to be more and more possessed
                    by God — grows more and more in
                    God's ways and can be filled more and
                    more with His life

                A person giving into pride and selfishness —
                    self will against God — can plunge
                    more and more into darkness
                    like Jesus showed me on this
                    vision

 

Excerpt from January 21, 2008

                    When Jesus appeared to me in the mural
                over the altar in China — light was on
                Him — like a bolt of lightening coming
                down

                First I saw this light as if it came
                    upon Him, His whole body shown
                    lighted — so brightly, but it was
                    as if a light came as a beam from
                    the direction shown — from
                    above

                LIGHT, LIGHT, LIGHT

                Jesus spoke through me then —

                Then the blackest, black around
                    the left arch particularly the
                    left side

Excerpt from January 21, 2008

                In a man growing in the spiritual
                    life — if he sins — he admits it
                    and he repents for his sin
                    against God and others and himself —
                    how he hurt his relationship
                    with God and others

                A man advanced doesn't say he is
                    sorry — he excuses his sins as
                    if God doesn't know —
                    he has little concern about
                    his relationship with others
                    and he lies in pride —
                    hurting himself the most —
                    His heart becomes - untruthful —
                    habits are vices he may
                    fall into easily and
                    thus in darkness, lacking love and
                    relationship — one's heart can
                    become hard

                he can become very unhappy and
                    in that numb stage —
                    he can expect someone else
                    to make him happy

                A man sinning can be truthful
                    and admit their fault —
                    confession and repent to keep
                    building love and relationship —

                A man sinning and not admitting their
                    sin — living in great unhappiness —
                    may not repent and incur hurt to
                    his relationship with God and others.
                    Sin hurts our relationship with God
                    and others.                    

                Satan wants men to go deeper and
                    deeper into sin —
                    lying to themselves —

                    the result is gross unhappiness
                        because it hurts that
                        intimate union with God
                        and others for which they were
                        created.

                Where one is building relationships —
                    they can become stuck by their
                    own prideful will in a hole
                    of darkness —
                    lying about how far they have
                        gone to hurt their relationship
                        with God and others

                Relationship is based on love
                    and truth

                We trust because we know what
                    the person says is true —

                When one lies they destroy their
                    relationship with the person
                    they lie to

                Lying to God is silly

                God knows all things

                We seek God the Holy Spirit to enlighten
                    us to help us grow in greater
                    perfection

                Jesus:

                Where can you run from Me —
                    Jesus says —
                    to the highest hill —
                    in the closet —

                I know you

                I know your motive

                I know your jealousies

                I know your kindness and love

                I know your envy

                I know your giving out of love

                I know how you try to block others
                    to possess them and control them
                    and manipulate them blocking
                    God's will for them
                    and sinning yourself hurting
                    your relationship with Me

                Repent and pray that you will
                    cooperate with the grace I
                    give you to change —

                Pray to the Holy Spirit for His gifts

                Pray for the fruits of the Holy Spirit

                Live a virtuous life

                Never lie to yourself about your sins —
                    live to be pure —
                    model your lives after Our 2 Hearts

                Seek the vision of God

                You must realize how little you
                    know

                You will not learn when you
                    close off your heart —

                You must open your heart to God's
                    truth and love

                Seek pure hearts

                Never lie to yourself

                Don't try to prove you are right
                    when you sin
                    fools do this and the devil dances
                    in glee

                Be awake

                Lest you stumble in your darkness
                    and fall in your sins into
                    a pit of your own making

                Sin is Sin

                Lies are Lies

                Joy is in a humble heart

                A heart rooted in Me

2 Corinthians 1: 19-22

The Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was proclaimed to you by us, that is, by me and by Silvanus and Timothy, was never Yes-and-No; his nature is all Yes. For in him is found the Yes to all God's promises and therefore it is 'through him' that we answer 'Amen' to give praise to God. It is God who gives us, with you, a sure place in Christ and has both anointed us and marked us with his seal, giving us as pledge the Spirit in our hearts.

 

Mark 2: 1-12

When he returned to Capernaum, some time later word went round that he was in the house; and so many people collected that there was no room left, even in front of the door. He was preaching the word to them when some people came bringing him a paralytic carried by four men, but as they could not get the man to him through the crowd, they stripped the roof over the place where Jesus was; and when they had made an opening, they lowered the stretcher on which the paralytic lay. Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralytic, ‘My child, your sins are forgiven.’ Now some scribes were sitting there, and they thought to themselves, ‘How can this man talk like that? He is being blasphemous. Who but God can forgive sins?’ And at once, Jesus, inwardly aware that this is what they were thinking, said to them, ‘Why do you have these thoughts in your hearts? Which of these is easier: to say to the paralytic, “Your sins are forgiven” or to say, “Get up, pick up your stretcher and walk”? But to prove to you that the Son of man has authority to forgive sins on earth’—he said to the paralytic—‘I order you: get up, pick up your stretcher, and go off home.’ And the man got up, and at once picked up his stretcher and walked out in front of everyone, so that they were all astonished and praised God saying, ‘We have never seen anything like this.’

Mark 1: 40-45

A man suffering from a virulent skin-disease came to him and pleaded on his knees saying, 'If you are willing, you can cleanse me.' Feeling sorry for him, Jesus stretched out his hand, touched him and said to him, 'I am willing. Be cleansed.' And at once the skin-disease left him and he was cleansed.  And at once Jesus sternly sent him away and said to him, 'Mind you tell no one anything, but go and show yourself to the priest, and make the offering for your  cleansing prescribed by Moses as evidence to them.' The man went away, but started freely proclaiming and telling the story everywhere, so that Jesus could no longer go openly into any town, but stayed outside in deserted places.  Even so, people from all around kept coming to him.

1 Corinthians 10: 31, 11: 1

Whatever you eat, then, or drink, and whatever else you do, do it all for the glory of God.

Take me as your pattern, just as I take Christ for mine.

                Jesus:

                    And so I say when you go to bed
                tonight - you can never bring
                back the moments of your day
                today

                    Fools live as on a bar that
                moves — tension — remorse —
                never living in the moment

From a Lenten Homily, March 24, 2000

Live in the Moment

    Today’s Gospel in its story certainly points ahead to Jesus in His Passion and death. And as we read passages such as this during the Lenten season, we are reminded once again that the Church in her Liturgy of the Word gives us an opportunity to undergo a purification, an ever deepening cleansing of ourselves so that we may be a more fit instrument for receiving the great graces which are to be given to us at the time of the Resurrection memorial on Easter. And so all in all, Lent is a time of purification to prepare us for ever-greater gifts of the Lord. It’s a time of self-discipline, a time to renew our efforts to be self-disciplined in the service of the Lord. Self-discipline is an aspect of purification. And I suggest that one of the most difficult acts of self-discipline in the spiritual journey is to concentrate on the present moment. We have a very strong tendency to disregard the importance of the present moment by focusing in a wrong way on the past or in a wrong way on the future. There are proper occasions for thinking of the past and the future. For example, we have to learn from the past and we have to prepare for the future, but our great emphasis has to be upon the present. There is a Latin axiom which says, age quod agis, age quod agis, which means: do what you are doing, concentrate on the present. And of course we are familiar with that term in the history of spirituality: the sacrament of the present moment. And so the discipline of Lent certainly encourages us to include in a deeper self-discipline a greater determination to get as much as we can out of the present moment. People with a terminal illness have an opportunity as they prepare for death for increased prayer, contrition, love of God. However, some are taken very, very quickly. But for those who have the opportunity of knowing with some certainty the time of their death, I’m sure as they look back on their lives, they are saddened by the many times they did not use time and opportunities for the service of the Lord properly, and are overjoyed at those times in which they did use the present opportunity properly. A great means we have of living in the present properly is a greater focus upon our Lord. For if I have that awareness of the fact I am united with Jesus here and now, why should I be concerned so much about the future or the past? Yes, a great help in living in the present and deriving all the good we can from it for ourselves and others is an ever greater focus upon Jesus, because the more I focus upon Jesus and the more I live with Him in the present moment, the more I am satisfied with the present moment. And so let us in our Lenten activity resolve to grow in that self-discipline - which is very difficult at times - to really live in the presence with the fullness of our being as much as is possible, with the help of God’s grace. Now is the day of salvation. Now is the day of salvation.

                Jesus: Oh you fools

                        I give you Myself in the Eucharist
                            and you can be so clogged
                            in wanting love —
                            when you ignore My love —
                            Repent and come to My Heart
                            that I may shower you
                            with My richest blessings

                Jesus: Oh I want the world to be on
                    fire with the fire of My love —
                    will you help Me?

                R: Hear my cry oh Lord
                Help me to be holy
                Help the world to see with the
                    light of 7 suns — the
                    gift You are to us

                Lazarus was dead in the tomb and
                    Jesus raised him from the dead

                Make our hearts ready
                    for the Christ
                    child this
                    Christmas
