Prayer for Grace for our Country
Dear Father united to Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Sacrifice of Calvary sacramentally made present, celebrated around the world, in the Holy Spirit. We offer up all we do united to the Mass. We unite in one mind and one heart as members of the mystical body of Christ, with Christ our head in the pure and holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary, through the powerful intercession of Mary with all the angels and saints and souls in purgatory, and we beg for the saving grace, for our country, the United States. Please help us. We further pray for unity to always do the will of God in love. We spread the Blood of Jesus on the leaders and people of the United States and cast the devil into hell. We consecrate our country to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and all our dioceses, and beg for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God help us. We pray for our families, the priests, the Church and the world. In the Name of Jesus please hear us, we pray. We pray for our old president as he leaves office and our new president as he takes office.

20th Anniversary of Mary
Given December 8, 2016 - Feast of the Immaculate Conception
R. The Shrine of the Immaculate
Conception is in Washington D. C.
This Church seats 10,000 people –
It has 70 chapels.
Jesus' Mother Mary was conceived
without sin –
She is the perfect Handmaid of the
Lord –
Mary always said "yes" to God.
Mary always did the will of God.
Mary teaches us to love the will
of God and serve Him.
Mary teaches us about obedience
to the authority designated
by God.
As Mother she teaches us
about the 4th Commandment.
Mary teaches us about the heart.
Mary has an Immaculate Heart.
Mary was conceived sinless.
Mary is without sin.
Mary is the perfect Handmaid of the Lord.
Mary wanted to serve Jesus, to
serve the Father and the Holy Spirit.
Mary's Heart is Immaculate.
Mary said "I am the Immaculate
Conception."
God is to receive glory – He
has all the power –
The devil wants people to seek
power for anger and hate.
The devil wants people to
disobey God and do what
they want –
Glory to God in the highest.
The Father prepared Mary.
Mary was sinless.
Mary prays with us.
R. Mary intercedes with us to God
to help build up the Kingdom of God.
But Yahweh God called to the man. 'Where are you?' he asked. 'I heard the sound of you in the garden,' he replied. 'I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid.' 'Who told you that you were naked?' he asked. 'Have you been eating from the tree I forbade you to eat?' The man replied, 'It was the woman you put with me; she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.' Then Yahweh God said to the woman, 'Why did you do that?' The woman replied, 'The snake tempted me and I ate.'
Then Yahweh God said to the snake, 'Because you have done this,
Accursed be you
of all animals wild and tame!
On your belly you will go
and on dust you will feed
as long as you live.
I shall put enmity
between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and hers;
it will bruise your head
and you will strike its heel.'The man named his wife 'Eve' because she was the mother of all those who live.
R. Thank You God for Mary –
We see in Genesis how the devil
tempted Eve and how Adam
and Eve were thrown out
of the Garden of Paradise
because they disobeyed God.
Luke 1: 46-55
And Mary said:
My soul proclaims
the greatness of the Lord
and my spirit rejoices
in God my Saviour;
because he has looked upon
the humiliation of his servant.
Yes, from now onwards
all generations will call me blessed,
for the Almighty
has done great things for me.
Holy is his name,
and his faithful love extends age after age
to those who fear him.
He has used the power of his arm,
he has routed the arrogant of heart.
He has pulled down princes
from their thrones
and raised high the lowly.
He has filled the starving with good things,
sent the rich away empty.
He has come to the help
of Israel his servant,
mindful of his faithful love
—according to the promise
he made to our ancestors—
of his mercy to Abraham
and to his descendants for ever.
R. Holy is God's name – all honor
and glory is God's.
Jesus: I call you to sing to Me and
to worship Me and love Me –
the devil is hate – the devil
tempts men to
be prideful and disobey God.
What is important is not what
men think about us, but how
we obey and please God –
God is watching us –
God sees everything we do –
God knows our hearts –
God wants us to do His plan
with love in our heart –
GIVING God what He
wants WILLINGLY –
with the right attitude.
Luke 1: 26-38
In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a town in Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph, of the House of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. He went in and said to her, ‘Rejoice, you who enjoy God’s favour! The Lord is with you.’ She was deeply disturbed by these words and asked herself what this greeting could mean, but the angel said to her, ‘Mary, do not be afraid; you have won God’s favour. Look! You are to conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you must name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David; he will rule over the House of Jacob for ever and his reign will have no end.’ Mary said to the angel, ‘But how can this come about, since I have no knowledge of man?’ The angel answered, ‘The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will cover you with its shadow. And so the child will be holy and will be called Son of God. And I tell you this too: your cousin Elizabeth also, in her old age, has conceived a son, and she whom people called barren is now in her sixth month, for nothing is impossible to God.’ Mary said, ‘You see before you the Lord’s servant, let it happen to me as you have said.’ And the angel left her.
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Sing: Hail Mary Gentle Woman
R. God has all the power –
Nobody has power over God.
This Feast can be confusing
because the Gospel
talks about when Mary
conceived Jesus.
The Feast of the Immaculate Conception
is when Mary was
conceived. Mary was
conceived sinless.
From the very instant Mary
was conceived - she was
conceived without sin –
Our first parents lived in
paradise, they came into
the world without sin –
They were jealous of God –
envious of God –
They didn't like the fact
God told them not to
eat of the forbidden tree.
They disobeyed God – they
wanted power –
We were born into a sinful race
because Adam and Eve sinned.
They wanted power – They
wanted power equal
to God.
Whenever God asked Mary
anything Mary said "yes"
to God.
Mary said
"I am the Handmaid of
the Lord."
In Greek that means 'I am
the slave of God'.
In baptism we are filled
with God's grace and we
can follow in Mary's example
and say "yes" to God – or
we can say "no" to God
like Adam and Eve did.
Mary is our Queen,
Queen of heaven and earth.
Mary is our model. Holy Mary
pray for us.
Mary is Queen of our hearts,
Mary, Our Mother, Queen
of our hearts, pray for us.
Mary we love you –
Mary holy Virgin pray
for us –
Tower of David – pray for us –
Mary Queen of our hearts –
help us – pray for us –
Jesus' Mother Mary –
pray for us –
Mary, Queen of Peace, pray for us.
We love you so much Mary –
Mary, thanks for being
our Mother –
God is all holy – the
font of all holiness –
R. Jesus teaches us about giving –
Jesus gives us His Body and Blood –
God is love.
Jesus gives Himself to us.
Jesus loves us so much.
Jesus teaches us about love
and purity, about
giving and kindness –
Jesus teaches us about the
light –
Jesus shows us how He
lived in a family
with Mary and Joseph
even though He
was God.
Jesus shows us how He
taught 12 Apostles
to carry on –
Jesus worked with others –
Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
R. Our Father loves us – we
are His little child –
Sing: Of the Father's Love Begotten
God gives us a sharing in
His life and He feeds us –
Grant us peace God –
Help us to be free from sin –
God has all the power –
The Glory is Yours God,
now and forever.
Peace be with You –
Lamb of God who takes away
the sins of the world
have mercy on us.
Lamb of God who takes away
the sins of the world
have mercy on us.
Lamb of God who takes away
the sins of the world
grant us peace –
Oh Lord I am not worthy
that you should come
under my roof only
say the word and
my soul will be
healed.
Everlasting is God's mercy.
God loves us so much –
God commands us to love
to be witnesses of His love –
Christ wants to be one in us.
"I am the vine
you are the branches" John 15: 5
Sin works in hearts
in guilt and shame –
Sin brings darkness
Jesus: I am light and love and
My gift is so, so much
beauty. I give gifts – so
precious gifts and like
Adam and Eve in the Garden
some can say "no" for
their seeking of power –
Power is their god –
Everything for some can
be to serve satan like
Adam and Eve and the
beauty I give, the light,
the gifts – they throw away
for their power.
The devil is hate, I am
love – you have a choice
to serve Me – love Me –
serve others or say
"no" to God – how low
can the sinner go – as
low as he gives into –
satan wants men to hold out –
They can have endless
energy for their anger,
tricks, deceptions, hurting
others, destruction etc.
My way is beautiful – is
love, is light, is living
in the Father's will –
Mary's whole life was
lived to love the Father's
will – Eve's desire was
to be equal to God –
to disobey God –
to have power over God –
I have all the power –
How foolish to follow
satan because you
don't want to obey.
God commands us to love
and a prideful person wants
nobody over them – they
can serve satan – they can
make themselves a slave to
satan for their pride and
power –
In this is darkness –
more and more darkness –
guilt and shame –
they choose –
You have a free will
to love God with your whole
heart, your whole soul,
your whole being and love
your neighbor as yourself or
seek selfish power – even over God –
some think they know it all –
enjoy deception and lies –
some abuse others and
cause destruction – rather
than loving others – because
they hate – Satan
is the father of hate –
he tempts people and
they serve him, satan and
reject the gifts I give
them for their pride,
jealousy, envy, slothfulness,
anger, gluttony, greed
and lust –
LUST after power –
LUST abusing others –
Some laugh when they
hurt others and want to
watch them squirm –
How dark is darkness –
Satan uses those who give
into them –
soon they don't give
at all –
only being in a mean
spirit of their own
choosing –
years of lies –
not living in the truth –
When I give them a grace
to live a good life –
they can still give into
pride, envy, jealousy,
anger –
trying to destroy others –
SATAN IS HATE –
The more you hate – the
more you oppose
My law to love –
I AM LOVE
Matthew 12: 33-37
‘Make a tree sound and its fruit will be sound; make a tree rotten and its fruit will be rotten. For the tree can be told by its fruit. You brood of vipers, how can your speech be good when you are evil? For words flow out of what fills the heart. Good people draw good things from their store of goodness; bad people draw bad things from their store of badness. So I tell you this, that for every unfounded word people utter they will answer on Judgement Day, since it is by your words you will be justified, and by your words condemned.’
Jesus: A man who makes mistakes
and is sorry doesn't want
to do them again –
A man who sins in vices
does the same dance, if he does
not try to change. He does
his bad habits over and over
and over again – pride becomes
the way he operates, anger, jealousy –
A person not doing My
Father's will brings problems
and he can continue in
disobedience because
he listens to satan –
the evil spirit and not
the guidance and council
of the Holy Spirit –
God is love – a life of
love is in the heart of the
man filled with grace in his heart –
Mary was full of grace –
In heaven you will be
filled with My life –
full of grace too.
Advent is a time to prepare
for Christmas – I came
a teacher and took on a
human nature to teach you
about God.
I am the Savior
A fool rejects God
and lives in hate and
anger serving satan.
R. A person who has lived with secrets
wants others to live with their
elephant in the living room.
A person who grew up in an
alcoholic home can choose an
alcoholic to marry so they can be
comfortable and they may not intend
to change.
The way of spiritual growth
is conversion – dying to one's
bad habits and growing to be like
Christ.
A person that honestly does not
admit what is their destructive
patterned behavior can become a master
at manipulation to force their unpredictable
dance, behavior on others, trying to force
them to comply with their darkness and ways.
Jesus is the way, the truth
and the life.
A lot of people lie about what
is bad behavior and keep
repeating like dance steps. The
more one practices a bad routine
the better they get at it. Practice
makes perfect.
To lie about a person's past
home - life as protecting a dysfunctional
family, keeps someone stuck in
the lie of what they believe –
they and their relationships are
perfect. Anger can be a legacy of how
to deal with everything, so can abuse
learned at home –
abused children can abuse others.
God has put us with others to
learn to give and take and work
in unity. It's God's will we
learn how to solve problems
and work with others on His plan
in love.
Denial is a big problem.
Denial what dysfunction in a
family did in a person's life.
This denial can keep a person that
developed survival tactics in childhood
to continue their dysfunction as adults –
forcing other adults, in their present
life, to live with their survival
tactics they used in childhood
to survive.
A person can lie to themselves
enabling others to be dysfunctional
while they see themselves as
peaceful and able to cope
with everything. They may see
themselves as a peaceful, and
the mature player in a relationship,
while they inflict their high image
of their enabling techniques on
some 'poor person'. The person who
is sick themselves from an addiction,
lying, making false promises, saying
one thing and doing addictive
patterned, destructive behavior,
doesn't need a person who thinks
they are a spiritual queen enabling
them. Enablers can be very prideful
about their perfect image.
People can live their whole
life to control everybody
around them to be in power.
They refuse to look at their
behavior and force others to be
codependent on them.
A person may be so set in
their dysfunctional behavior
they refuse to ever act differently
because of pride – even though
so many have suffered and left
because they could not live in
such dysfunction. Life becomes
utter chaos, serving only the addicted.
They stir the pot because they are
addicted to excitement, drama, lies, etc.
They are master manipulators for control
and seeking power over others by
forcing their sordid dysfunction.
A person that is operating like
this needs healing and lots of
recovery, but their denial
can be the result of
no growth, no work accomplished
and an acceleration of deeper and
deeper dysfunction, abuse
denial and darkness for them.
This life of holding on and controlling
others to force them to their way of
dysfunctionality is a life of
misery, opposed to the will of God.
Responding differently to others
can feel very awkward and yet they
must stop their master manipulation
for power - over, hiding secrets,
heartlessness, lack of compassion
and love. God intends us to LIVE
in the light – to be instruments of love.
Practice is necessary to
change an old patterned dysfunctional
behavior. Can you really
force others under your
control – is it God's will a
person punish others in destructive
behaviors without responsibility
and accountability?
When there is dysfunction usually
the person covers it up so no one
knows how they really are inside.
Life is lived for them completely
to protect their secret. In other
words – this can become their goal.
Passive-aggressive behavior so they
don't have to admit their sordid ways
of sabotaging needed events.
Unless a person seeks to change
their destructive behavior from
their past life that was dysfunctional,
they live in denial of these practiced
destructive patterned behaviors. The
addicted destructive person can be locked
in the same sick behavior and
trying to force others to live
their sick ways from youth.
It does not go away on its own.
It can be survival tactics begun at
10 years old – to protect secrets.
A person that hates themselves and
does not have healthy goals can be so
angry and hurt and they need healing
from past relationships – it just
doesn't go away.
Projection is very common
for a person living in such
untruths. They project on innocent
others in their lives, what in
fact, is their own problem –
UNREASONABLE BEHAVIOR.
And a person seeks power to
act-out this unfinished destructive behavior
on others.
Relationships need to be healed and
worked through or a person can keep
acting this unfinished business
out on innocent others. A person in
authority can use authority not as a
servant to make life better for
themselves and others, but because
their hearts are so wounded, they
use power to inflict anger and hurts
on innocent others.
A person frozen from abuse,
physical or sexual or emotional
abuse can continue being so frozen
they are rigid, unfeeling, untrusting
and heartless. (Frozen in body and
heart)
We were made to live – to LIVE life –
Children to learn to play and be
spontaneous under the direction of
parents who were to love and protect
them. Children were not to be used
for abuse, sexual, physical or emotional.
Song: Live This Day
From a Lenten Homily, March 24, 2000
Live in the Moment
Today’s Gospel in its story certainly points ahead to Jesus in His Passion and death. And as we read passages such as this during the Lenten season, we are reminded once again that the Church in her Liturgy of the Word gives us an opportunity to undergo a purification, an ever deepening cleansing of ourselves so that we may be a more fit instrument for receiving the great graces which are to be given to us at the time of the Resurrection memorial on Easter. And so all in all, Lent is a time of purification to prepare us for ever-greater gifts of the Lord. It’s a time of self-discipline, a time to renew our efforts to be self-disciplined in the service of the Lord. Self-discipline is an aspect of purification. And I suggest that one of the most difficult acts of self-discipline in the spiritual journey is to concentrate on the present moment. We have a very strong tendency to disregard the importance of the present moment by focusing in a wrong way on the past or in a wrong way on the future. There are proper occasions for thinking of the past and the future. For example, we have to learn from the past and we have to prepare for the future, but our great emphasis has to be upon the present. There is a Latin axiom which says, age quod agis, age quod agis, which means: do what you are doing, concentrate on the present. And of course we are familiar with that term in the history of spirituality: the sacrament of the present moment. And so the discipline of Lent certainly encourages us to include in a deeper self-discipline a greater determination to get as much as we can out of the present moment. People with a terminal illness have an opportunity as they prepare for death for increased prayer, contrition, love of God. However, some are taken very, very quickly. But for those who have the opportunity of knowing with some certainty the time of their death, I’m sure as they look back on their lives, they are saddened by the many times they did not use time and opportunities for the service of the Lord properly, and are overjoyed at those times in which they did use the present opportunity properly. A great means we have of living in the present properly is a greater focus upon our Lord. For if I have that awareness of the fact I am united with Jesus here and now, why should I be concerned so much about the future or the past? Yes, a great help in living in the present and deriving all the good we can from it for ourselves and others is an ever greater focus upon Jesus, because the more I focus upon Jesus and the more I live with Him in the present moment, the more I am satisfied with the present moment. And so let us in our Lenten activity resolve to grow in that self-discipline - which is very difficult at times - to really live in the presence with the fullness of our being as much as is possible, with the help of God’s grace. Now is the day of salvation. Now is the day of salvation.
end of Father Carter's homily
R. People who really hate themselves
can be the most self-critical of
themselves – then they project
this on others, they blame innocent
others for their hatred.
Children who have little
loving interaction as a child
do not know how to interact
and love and solve problems,
and may not even know
how to be with people
in peace without drama
and disharmony, seeking
power, chaos and control.
A nagging wife can send a man
away and he may stay at work
to avoid her. Some
person, man or female, may
be dominant and demanding
unreasonable behavior
and attention – so the child
can react to any just authority in
later life with punishment, disobedience,
rejection because parents or guardians
were controlling and domineering.
Children life-long can hear old tapes
of parents who were mean to their
children.
Angry parents teach children
how to be master - manipulators of anger.
Children do not learn how to handle
things in love and in kindness,
in fairness and in harmony
working on problems, working
together in peace and unity on a
problem with others.
The person full of anger operates
on a dance of anger. They can become
master manipulators of others
with practiced steps. They may know
how to attack a person passively so
as to not get caught when the house
falls in and they sabotage what
another was trying to accomplish.
(passive-aggressive)
A person using passive-aggressive
behavior with malice of intent
wants to hurt innocent others and get
back at them because they are angry
inside themselves and blame and/or
hate others to want to punish them
like that.
Relationships are damaged
over years as the pain of this manipulation
and unpredictability happens – not because
of the innocent party, but because the other
is using deliberate ways and hidden ways
to express their stuffed anger inside from
way back. Because the children are
taught to "control their anger" they can
use other means of getting back at
innocent people for their age-old stuffed
anger. (passive-aggressive) I remember a
man telling me of another man – that the
second man didn't learn to control his anger
as he should have when he was
ten. He also informed us he was the
mediator between his parents from
childhood. When he came to us he
mediated everything against the
authority so he could manipulate
and have power over every one.
Passive-aggressive ways of expressing
anger, a priest told me, is a way to punish
and get away with it by stabbing an
innocent other in the back. It is hidden
and the attack denied.
A lifetime of sexual abuse kept
secret and anger suppressed is
deeply hidden and the anger a
violent emotion and robbing the
child of living. It is a secret, if a
child was sexually abused, emotionally
abused, physically abused and it has
not been brought to light so the child
carries this horrendous secret and
may be afraid to tell someone –
they are a child!
Volatile anger can develop
as a child is deprived of childhood
freedom and protects such an
awful secret. Silent screams,
a life of passive-aggressive attacks
to get back for their rage and robbed
childhood.
Establishing relationships in truth
and love is essential for developing
relationships with God and others.
Being held down and forced to
take sexual abuse as a child
sets up rage in the youth and
keeping it secret life-long
means this rage is ever lighted
with lies and manipulation.
Competition is big among
siblings many times, among
peers and so coupled with
anger and rage comes pride –
Children who were abused can be
so angry they provoke secret,
passive ways to act out their
anger and not be detected.
Healing is impossible when the
abuse is denied and anger at
authority becomes rage for the
older person that should have
protected them and gave them
such a damaged life.
Healing is impossible in later life
when the person is in denial and
becomes a passive-aggressive abuser
themselves – so they can get away
with the volatile abuse they vent and
can be addicted to. Their then evil acts
and denial, turn into greater and greater
anger and darkness for opposing God's
law of love and light. This adds to
guilt and shame for denying and not
confessing their hurts toward others
and telling the truth.
Withdrawing emotionally,
suppressing feelings, denial,
rigidity, lack of trust and
unity with others occurs
and must be healed.
Passive-aggressive behavior
is a life-long practice – practiced
to make perfect with ways to
get back at others without being
found out for their passive ways
of attacking.
A person using passive-
aggressive behavior, holds
out, makes people wait,
doesn't do what needs to
be done and then says
"Oh, I didn't know, I am
sorry". This is so frustrating
when the whole relationship
is based on this passive way
of attacking to get back and
punish in an attack.
A person can attack one in authority
to get back by sabotaging the event
that is planned, not producing
needed things and living a life
of making the authority suffer
and fight for everything that
is planned. This way the person
full of rage – accomplishes
getting back – one more time
for their unfinished business,
it can be from 45 years ago.
The person who is passive -
aggressive doesn't do what he
is supposed to on purpose –
pleading innocent and showing
up to put on pressure to get their
attack. Oh the bill was due and
I sent the check – we have two
hours to cover the check.
This can be a perfect way
to hide a life-time way of getting
out anger and tearing down
the house. "Oh, I didn't
know, Oh, I'm sorry."
This passive-aggressive
behavior creates for the one
it is taken out on – an
emotional rollercoaster –
It gives the angry person power
to control and take out what the
boss asks for – while once again
they walk away and make it
impossible to pin anything
on them or correct them –
The place is in constant
chaos if they hold needed things
for survival at bay – like
bills paid for living in a
house, water bills.
Needed events are sabotaged
so they can ruin everything
by pulling out when the
time is at hand –

Guiding Light homily series — Reflect on the Word — Cycle B The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand. $15 |
Guiding Light homily series — Steadfast to the Son — Cycle A The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $15 |
Guiding Light — Focusing on the Word — Cycle B At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $15 |
Guiding Light — Feed My Soul — Cycle C In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $15 |
Guiding Light — The Word Alive in Our Hearts. — Cycle A (partial) Homilies by the Reverend Joe Robinson given at St. Boniface Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is a tremendous honor Fr. Joe has allowed us to share these great gifts with you – for greater holiness and knowing more and more about God. $10 |

Priestly Newsletter — 2000 #1 — CD. — Christ is Our Strength — Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. read it the year he died. It is so beautiful. "This brief passage contains one of the greatest lessons of the spiritual life. As we progress along our spiritual journey, we become increasingly aware of how weak we are in our—selves, but how strong we are in Christ. To experience our weakness involves suffering. The degree and kind of suffering can vary. The suffering can include the experience of the classical dark night of the spirit as described by St. John of the Cross. One of the main purposes of the dark night is to make a person keenly aware of his or her helplessness without God." quote by Fr. Carter from the newsletter $10 |
