December 19th Holy Spirit Novena
Scripture selection is
Day 1 Period II.

The Novena Rosary Mysteries
for
December 19th are Glorious.

Pray for Bob & special intentions.

Consecration Prayer for Peace

I consecrate Russia and the Ukraine to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

I further consecrate the priests, the Church and the world to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

I do this in the name of Jesus in as far as I am able, united to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, praying to the Father, in the Holy Spirit, with all the angels and saints and the souls in purgatory through the powerful intercession of Mary, Queen of Peace. Amen.

I further consecrate myself, all members of my family and ask the Holy Spirit to fill us. I spread the Blood of Jesus on all above, I cast the devil into hell away from all of us and consecrate all persons, in as far as I am able,  to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart.

Prayer for Grace for Election and our Country

Dear Father united to Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Sacrifice of Calvary sacramentally made present, celebrated around the world, in the Holy Spirit. We offer up all we do united to the Mass. We unite in one mind and one heart as members of the mystical body of Christ, with Christ our head in the pure and holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary, through the powerful intercession of Mary with all the angels and saints and souls in purgatory, and we beg for the saving grace, for our country, the United States. Please help us. We further pray for unity to always do the will of God in love. We spread the Blood of Jesus on the leaders and people of the United States and cast the devil into hell. We consecrate our country to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and all our dioceses, and beg for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God help us. We pray for our families, the priests, the Church and the world. In the Name of Jesus please hear us, we pray. We pray for our president and leaders. We pray that we are united as one nation under God to work together in love as God wants.

Fr. Carter died
December 18, 2000.

R. Think of the anguish of Jesus’
Heart with Christ's interior pain!!!
So much pain Jesus endured for us.

Identify, imagine Jesus’ sufferings.

John 19:16

So at that Pilate handed him over to them to be crucified. They then took charge of Jesus,

R. Jesus: King of the Jews.
See the bowed head of Jesus
on the cross, surrendering to
His last.

1 Peter 2:21

This, in fact, is what you were called to do, because Christ suffered for you and left an example for you to follow in his steps.

R. What is our cross?
Being obedient when we don’t
necessarily want to, but it’s
God’s will.

Veronica wiped His face.

Hebrews 13:12-13

and so Jesus too suffered outside the gate to sanctify the people with his own blood. Let us go to him, then, outside the camp, and bear his humiliation.

Luke 23:34

Jesus said, 'Father, forgive them; they do not know what they are doing.' Then they cast lots to share out his clothing.

John 19:25-26

Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala. Seeing his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing near her, Jesus said to his mother, 'Woman, this is your son.'

Isaiah 53:7-9

Ill-treated and afflicted, he never opened his mouth, like a lamb led to the slaughter-house, like a sheep dumb before its shearers he never opened his mouth. Forcibly, after sentence, he was taken. Which of his contemporaries was concerned at his having been cut off from the land of the living, at his having been struck dead for his people's rebellion? He was given a grave with the wicked, and his tomb is with the rich, although he had done no violence, had spoken no deceit.

Sorrowful Mysteries

The Agony in the Garden

1. Jesus knew in the Garden
He would be tortured to a
    slow death on the cross.

2.
Luke 22: 39-46

The Mount of Olives

He then left to make his way as usual to the Mount of Olives, with the disciples following. When he reached the place he said to them, ‘Pray not to be put to the test.’

Then he withdrew from them, about a stone’s throw away, and knelt down and prayed. ‘Father,’ he said, ‘if you are willing, take this cup away from me. Nevertheless, let your will be done, not mine.’ Then an angel appeared to him, coming from heaven to give him strength. In his anguish he prayed even more earnestly, and his sweat fell to the ground like great drops of blood. When he rose from prayer he went to the disciples and found them sleeping for sheer grief. And he said to them, ‘Why are you asleep? Get up and pray not to be put to the test.’

3. The apostles slept.
4. Jesus loves us sooooo.
5. Jesus said “yes”.
6. Jesus obeyed the Father’s
    will.
7. Think of the slow tormenting
death Jesus had on the cross.
8. For our sins.
Jesus loves us so much, we
    can't even comprehend it.
9. Dear Father, hear my prayer
in the name of Jesus, please
send the Holy Spirit, cast the
    devil out, spread the Blood
    of Jesus and we consecrate
our hearts to Jesus and Mary.
    We unite these prayers to
    the Holy Sacrifice of the
    Mass, dear Father help us
    now. Amen.
10. Jesus sweat Blood in the
    Garden.

The Scourging at the Pillar

1.
Luke 23: 15-19, 22

...As you can see, the man has done nothing that deserves death, so I shall have him flogged and then let him go.' But as one man they howled, 'Away with him! Give us Barabbas!' (This man had been thrown into prison because of a riot in the city and murder.)

And for the third time he spoke to them, 'But what harm has this man done? I have found no case against him that deserves death, so I shall have him flogged and then let him go.'

2. I understand more how sins
    were heaped on Jesus’ back.

3. Jesus carried the sins of all
    on His back.

4. He is the innocent Lamb,
    led to the slaughter.
5. I see Jesus persecuted and
    standing trial and they
    released Barabbas and treated
Jesus, the Son of God as a
    criminal they crucified to death.
6. Jesus' body was torn, bloodied,
    whipped for our sins.
7. These men enjoyed their
    sport, whipping Jesus.
8. Ruthlessness to Jesus, the
    Son of God.
9. Jesus’ blood flew in the air.
10. Jesus: I am the way, the
    truth and the life.

The Crowning with Thorns

1.
Matthew 27: 27-31

Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus with them into the Praetorium and collected the whole cohort round him. And they stripped him and put a scarlet cloak round him, and having twisted some thorns into a crown they put this on his head and placed a reed in his right hand. To make fun of him they knelt to him saying, ‘Hail, king of the Jews!’ And they spat on him and took the reed and struck him on the head with it. And when they had finished making fun of him, they took off the cloak and dressed him in his own clothes and led him away to crucifixion.

2. Jesus had a crown of holes
    on His head.
3. Blood ran all over His head
    from this.
4. There was blood in Jesus’
    eyes, they pounded His Head
    and pounded it.
5. Jesus suffered such torture
to His head for sins of pride,
    anger, jealousy, envy, and
    slothfulness,
6. Jesus' teeth went into His
    tongue.

7. John 3:16

For this is how God loved the world:
he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him
    may not perish
but may have eternal life.

8. The Mass is the sacrifice of
    Calvary, sacramentally made
    present.
9. Jesus suffered more than
    anyone ever suffered.

10. 1 Samuel 3:9-11

So Samuel went and lay down in his place. Yahweh then came and stood by, calling as he had done before, ‘Samuel! Samuel!’ Samuel answered, ‘Speak, Yahweh; for your servant is listening.’

The Carrying of the Cross

1.
Luke 23:26-31

As they were leading him away they seized on a man, Simon from Cyrene, who was coming in from the country, and made him shoulder the cross and carry it behind Jesus. Large numbers of people followed him, and women too, who mourned and lamented for him. But Jesus turned to them and said, ‘Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep rather for yourselves and for your children. For look, the days are surely coming when people will say, "Blessed are those who are barren, the wombs that have never borne children, the breasts that have never suckled!" Then they will begin to say to the mountains, "Fall on us!"; to the hills, "Cover us!" For if this is what is done to green wood, what will be done when the wood is dry?'

2. And so, when we find it hard to do God's
will, let us look upon our Master, Who has gone
before us, Who has suffered, as no one else, with
a human nature, ever has, ever will – He has
suffered more!

3. And He tells us: I have gone before
you, to show you at what lengths you must go to
do the Father's will.

4. I have suffered much more
than you will ever suffer, and when you find it
most difficult to do the Father's will, come to
Me and I will help you shoulder the burden.

5. My yoke is easy, My yoke is sweet and My
burden light, My burden light.

6. So no matter how hard it is to do God's will
in the objective order of things, it becomes relatively
light if we seek out the strength of Jesus.

7. And of course, it's in the Eucharist where we
most meet up with that strength.

8. Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, we place our trust in
You, help us to live by these words more and more.

9. The Father's will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

10. And also I'd like to bring to your attention,
that an aspect of the Father's will for you is that
very, very special mission He has given to each
of you.

The Crucifixion

1.
Mark 15: 24-38

Then they crucified him, and shared out his clothing, casting lots to decide what each should get. It was the third hour when they crucified him. The inscription giving the charge against him read, ‘The King of the Jews’. And they crucified two bandits with him, one on his right and one on his left.

The passers–by jeered at him; they shook their heads and said, ‘Aha! So you would destroy the Temple and rebuild it in three days! Then save yourself; come down from the cross!’ The chief priests and the scribes mocked him among themselves in the same way with the words, ‘He saved others, he cannot save himself. Let the Christ, the king of Israel, come down from the cross now, for us to see it and believe.’ Even those who were crucified with him taunted him.

When the sixth hour came there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, ‘Eloi, eloi, lama sabachthani?’ which means, ‘My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?’ When some of those who stood by heard this, they said, ‘Listen, he is calling on Elijah.’ Someone ran and soaked a sponge in vinegar and, putting it on a reed, gave it to him to drink saying, ‘Wait! And see if Elijah will come to take him down.’ But Jesus gave a loud cry and breathed his last. And the veil of the Sanctuary was torn in two from top to bottom.

2. 1 Corinthians 2:14

The natural person has no room for the gifts of God's Spirit; to him they are folly; he cannot recognise them, because their value can be assessed only in the Spirit.

3. Matthew 5:8

Blessed are the pure in heart:
    they shall see God.

4. Song: A Song from Jesus

5. Isaiah 53: 5-6

whereas he was being wounded for our rebellions, crushed because of our guilt; the punishment reconciling us fell on him, and we have been healed by his bruises. We had all gone astray like sheep, each taking his own way, and Yahweh brought the acts of rebellion of all of us to bear on him.

6. Matthew 16: 24-25

Then Jesus said to his disciples, 'If anyone wants to be a follower of mine, let him renounce himself and take up his cross and follow me. Anyone who wants to save his life will lose it; but anyone who loses his life for my sake will find it.

7. Romans 6:8

One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said, Here is a small boy with five barley loaves and two fish; but what is that among so many?'

8. Song: God’s Love

9. Luke 24:26

Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer before entering into his glory?'

10. 2 Corinthians 4:10

always we carry with us in our body the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus, too, may be visible in our body.

Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Litugical Year (2011/2012)
$ 10.00

Guiding Light homily series — Reflect on the Word — Cycle B     The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand. $10

Guiding Light - Steadfast to the Son
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle A of the Litugical Year
$ 10.00

Guiding Light homily series — Steadfast to the Son — Cycle A    The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $10

Guiding Light - Focusing on the Word
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Litugical Year
$ 10.00

Guiding Light — Focusing on the Word — Cycle B    At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $10

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle C of the Litugical Year
$ 10.00

Guiding Light — Feed My Soul — Cycle C    In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $10
