R. Come, Oh Come Emmanuel –
Come to us and make a home in
us.
We are the poor banished children
of Adam and Eve –
We open our hearts to You, now,
oh beloved God and ask You
to guard our going out and
out coming in.
Today is Christmas Eve and we unite to
all the Masses being celebrated
around the world.
May our hearts be a stable for the
Christ Child, let them be hearts
of love and unity and knowing
Your strength in all we do
today to celebrate the Eve of
Christmas.
May our hearts be giving hearts in every
act of love we do to others –
Come, oh Come Messiah –
Come into our hearts –
Help us to be instruments of peace
and love –
We ask for the Blood of Jesus to be
spread on us and all we touch –
That the Blood of Jesus is spread on
the Shepherds of Christ Movement,
on the Church and the world –
We consecrate, as far as we are able,
all the places we are to the Sacred
Heart and Immaculate Heart and
the whole world and the Church.
We cast the devil into the fires of hell,
away from us and all we
touch, the Church and the world.
Come Holy Spirit, Come to us wherever we are,
whatever you have called us to
do this day –
Come, enlighten us, fill us,
help us –
We pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit
on the Shepherds of Christ Movement, the
Church and the world –
Come, God, Come, enlighten our hearts
to live to serve God.
We love You God,
We love You God
We love You God
We want to be united to You, in love
in the gift of giving love and peace
today – wherever we are –
Dear God, please spread a blanket of
warm love over us and the whole
earth.
May the peace of Christ be with you
and with your spirit –
May the joy of this holy night be
in your hearts –
May the joy of giving in love be the root
of all your actions –
that you will not stoop to any
forms of anger, or jealousy
or envy and pride that could
offend God on this beautiful night –
Dear God, help us to contribute to love
and truth on this earth by being
as You want us to be –
instruments of love and peace
May the love of our Savior, rule in
our hearts, as we hold the
precious gifts we have been
given in highest esteem and in
gratitude never cease praising
and honoring our God, who is
worthy of all honor and praise.
Let our lives, be lives, of honor
and praise to Our God –

Philippians 1: 7-11
It is only right that I should feel like this towards you all, because you have a place in my heart, since you have all shared together in the grace that has been mine, both my chains and my work defending and establishing the gospel. For God will testify for me how much I long for you all with the warm longing of Christ Jesus; it is my prayer that your love for one another may grow more and more with the knowledge and complete understanding that will help you to come to true discernment, so that you will be innocent and free of any trace of guilt when the Day of Christ comes, entirely filled with the fruits of uprightness through Jesus Christ, for the glory and praise of God.
Romans 3: 1-19
Is there any benefit, then, in being a Jew? Is there any advantage in being circumcised? A great deal, in every way. First of all, it was to the Jews that the message of God was entrusted. What if some of them were unfaithful? Do you think their lack of faith could cancel God's faithfulness? Out of the question! God will always be true even if no human being can be relied on. As scripture says: That you may show your saving justice when you pass sentence and your victory may appear when you give judgement. But if our injustice serves to bring God's saving justice into view, can we say that God is unjust when -- to use human terms -- he brings his retribution down on us? Out of the question! It would mean that God could not be the judge of the world. You might as well say that if my untruthfulness makes God demonstrate his truthfulness, to his greater glory, then I should not be judged to be a sinner at all. In this case, the slanderous report some people are spreading would be true, that we teach that one should do evil that good may come of it. In fact such people are justly condemned.
Well: are we any better off? Not at all: we have already indicted Jews and Greeks as being all alike under the dominion of sin. As scripture says:
Not one of them is upright, not a single one,
not a single one is wise,
not a single one seeks God.
All have turned away, all alike turned sour,
not one of them does right, not a single one.
Their throats are wide -- open graves,
their tongues seductive.
Viper's venom behind their lips;
their speech is full of cursing and bitterness.
Their feet quick to shed innocent blood,
wherever they go there is havoc and ruin.
They do not know the way of peace,
there is no fear of God before their eyes. Now we are well aware that whatever the Law says is said for those who are subject to the Law, so that every mouth may be silenced, and the whole world brought under the judgement of God.
R. We give our hearts to Christ –
We seek to live the Christ-life
to be transformed in wisdom
and filled with God's grace
more and more abundantly and
we sing.
Sing: Glory, Glory, Glory Lord
R. We are sinners and we ask for forgiveness
for offending God –
God we are sorry for our sins and
the sins of the human race –
please forgive us, help us to
give our lives to You – in
loving those You have asked
us to witness to –

Deuteronomy 4: 39-40
‘Hence, grasp this today and meditate on it carefully: Yahweh is the true God, in heaven above as on earth beneath, he and no other. Keep his laws and commandments as I give them to you today, so that you and your children after you may prosper and live long in the country that Yahweh your God is giving you for ever.’
R. Dear God please hear the prayer of
Your servants,
Dear God help our hearts to be holy –
Dear God, come and dwell in our hearts –
Dear God, we thank You for all Your
gifts and blessings –
Isaiah 61: 10
I exult for joy in Yahweh,
my soul rejoices in my God,
for he has clothed me
in garments of salvation,
he has wrapped me in a cloak
of saving justice,
like a bridegroom wearing his garland,
like a bride adorned in her jewels.
Isaiah 62: 5
Like a young man marrying a virgin,
your rebuilder will wed you,
and as the bridegroom rejoices in his bride,
so will your God rejoice in you.
A City on a Hill Shines to the World
February 23, 1994 5:30 a.m.
Jesus: I am the light of the world. A city on a hill will shine to the world. You at the Center will be this city when you are filled to the brim with the love of Jesus. What power, what might, to have each person a personal spouse of Jesus Christ! This is the light to the darkened world. The love of Jesus radiates from the very being of those who love Him. What light when all together are lifted by His love abounding deep within their breasts! end of excerpt

R. The snow was coming hard and it was
beautiful and it lay even and it was
crisp and it sounded like you could
even hear a whisper.
We walked through the soft snow –
speechless and the flakes landed, ever
so softly, even on my eyelashes
as I walked.
It was a night when the moon was
full and the sky above looked hazy
with a soft fuzzy light from the moon
above and the snow falling was
indeed a beautiful winter, wonderland
and it was awesomely quiet as it
fell and yet it gathered quickly as the
earth preparing the land for something
magnificent with this blanket of
soft beautiful white snow.
What can one say when God lets
us see its beauty, dressed, the earth
before us, like a white fluffy blanket of
beauty.
All that was once uneven and
old or green or brown or
junk-like – now was covered with
this magnificent white blanket –
making things look even and clean
and white as uniform.
The night was a quiet night, like
nights can be, but this night had a softness,
I cannot even describe here – a softness,
a beauty, a smoothness, all the uneven
corners filled in, the browns and dirty
now glistening like a bride prepared
for the bridegroom.
I think of the scripture of the white –
washed tombs – looking good on the
outside and tainted on the inside,
but all I could see was a purely
beautiful cover of soft white.
One night I woke coughing and
where I was dreaming and sleeping
I discovered almost a new time
and space to explore in the wee
hours of early morning.
Had the night, now, with the snow,
not spread such a beauteous blanket
of white and I been there to see it
while it happened, I may have missed the
beauty of that snowy, white, beautiful
earth.
Like one waken coughing and discovering
that there is a time going on now, a
quiet night, no noise and seeing
lights of night dancing like shadows
on the wall, one would have missed
it they weren't disturbed in their
sleep by the cough that summoned
them to get up and see the night and
its beauty.
Eyes are in the eyes of the beholder
and God can shake an old tree from
its roots and show it the growth and
glory of a new day.
Sleeping may deprive us of one
thing and yet give us a new dream of
a brighter tomorrow – a serenity of
working through the messes we may
see in our dreams.
Well we don't see everything, so
clearly and we can't see everything
because we can't be in two places
at one time.
But can you meditate on the
omnipotence of God – who knows
everything, the hidden secrets of the
man closing down for a long life nap –
because he is a fool to not know
God and His ways. God knows my
heart and your heart and all
that is and He doesn't slumber
or sleep. He knows and we are
fools to try to hide from Him –
guess what, we can't do it –
He knows the secrets and the hidden
ways – we might think – nobody
could see our scheming and
deception.
Adam and Eve hid themselves after their
sin. They were used to walking with
God in the Garden – then sin entered
the world. In the beginning they were naked
and were not ashamed, but after they sinned
they knew they were naked – they
needed covering.
I never understood exactly all what
Jesus meant when He woke me January 5, 1997
and gave me this message –
January 5, 1997
Baby, Bare Baby, Laid Bare
R. On January 5, 1997, I was wakened by Our Lord and He was mumbling as He was around my bed as He did on October 8, 1997, when He delivered the "Seedless, Barren, No Fruit on the Vine" message.
I heard Him and He repeated the words over and over again. I had a copy of the all-night message on the floor, I jumped from the bed and began to write around the message, for it was the only paper available and He was speaking very plainly and direct. I wrote this message in the margins of the paper. He kept repeating "BABY, BARE BABY, LAID BARE".
Jesus: Open yourself, Oh Jerusalem, your time is come you will be a light to the people in darkness, many will walk whence you come and the earth will be shakened and the light will come across a dark sky and enlighten their minds.
Oh stiff-necked people, you are so stiff in your ways, let the spirit envelope you and lead you on your way.
A country of stiffs, a people of planning and prodding, of deliberating and wondering—you lack faith, Jerusalem, you lack faith in God.
Oh walk naked into the cold night, you are cold in your hearts and naked in your clothing—I cloth you with glory, I light your face with light, but you turn your cheeks to the darkness and stay stiff-necked in your hearts. Oh cold and dark hearts, reach for the light that you may know the glory that awaits the sinners and enlightens their minds.

R. I just don't know, as God knows,
God is teaching me more about the infinite,
more about Himself and the shame
from sin and the darkness covering
a soul giving into the deadly sins,
is a place of being not in beauty
but in darkness, misery, clamor of
unrest, bitterness and a yearning
for that clamor of unrest, even though
it was self made, to stop – it
is blaring in the ears, troubling
a broken heart, like not walking
in pure, white soft snow on a
misty breathless night, but being
in the darkness of sin is like
screaming to the restless soul made
for God and when the noise gets
too blaring – the sinner can make
havoc to release the tension of
the tightness of opposing God's
will for him – excitement, release,
pressing on innocent others – like
getting out of the self-made prison
of their own making, for a moment
of feeling something – where the mundane
darkness of sin can leave one
numb and frozen and complacent and
without the vigor of life in him.
Why does the sinner cling to the darkness
of being frozen and locked in remorse?
One who does not admit the truth about
their sins and stays locked in
anger and pride and deception –
projects this disharmony on others
and the world.
And there is an unsettledness of
opposing God – no one can describe.
They can be screaming inside from
that state of disconnection and on
the outside making the isolated, disharmonious
path they trod and blaming an innocent
other for their self-made prison.
Deception inside about oneself is
an unsettling place to be – it is
a place of ones own choosing where
they could have lived in the truth
and unity and knew love and connection –
They convinced themselves – nobody
is trustworthy and they should
not feel what comes natural living –
really living in the moment, connected
to God and others –
but instead they chose disharmony
and distrust of those God sent
to them to work and love them and
they heard the chains and darkness
of the night and they invited this bleakness,
opposed to God's will, to be their
guest inside to share the enclosure
of not trusting, not sharing,
not loving and living and being not
alive, but frozen, frozen in
the past, in pain, in misery –
clung to like a branch of a tree
they held onto above a ravine far
below them –
Life is for living –
The snow flakes really fall making
a soft and beautiful wonderland
in the dark night and the earth is
covered with a mystical light
even in the darkness.
Jesus: Do you know what you missed
while you stood guard of
your heart so it became
frozen and closed off –
How does a man who is blind know
what he missed seeing?
A man who is blind, doesn't see,
so he doesn't know what
he missed seeing, not really –
and a man encased in his own
self-made isolating darkness
of the deadly sins – really
hates the misery it entails,
but many remained locked there because
of pride and failure to love or trust
those they need to reach out to –
Locked in a hidden tower, they
clamor at its darkness and
when I send someone to help them,
the man who keeps himself stuck,
says "go away man, I need no one,
I am invincible, don't you
see my superiority"
Closing down in pride and anger and
jealousy and envy is a very
dark hole and in it is
misery, misery, misery, isolation,
boredom – for the connection to
God is in going out – is in
loving and giving and working
out problems.
The frozen man is very rigid –
He is on guard against anyone
getting in –
like a frozen old tree, it
doesn't move, but stays
static – it is heavy against
the wind –
When a soul is open to the Holy Spirit –
the wind blows and they are
ready to be as God wills them
to be – God is the author of
life –
God paints the corners of the dark
night with the new fallen
beauty of a wonderful, white,
soft blanket of snow
God is the artist –
Man is the one waiting His favors –
the nights are still bright and
beautiful even in the struggles –
The earth is clad in beauty and
light and man sees it –
he is not blinded by darkness
and locked in a dark tower
of his own choosing.
Positive imaging –
Your minds can paint the picture
of beauty –
Your minds can be thoughts of
loving unity with others –
trusting those I send you to love
and working with others in
the building of My Kingdom.
A boat was very small on the big
ocean but it was parked
close to shore with a heavy,
big anchor that was never
lifted.
The ocean was vast and beautiful
and boats came and went around
the little boat – parked with
a heavy anchor –
The other boats saw the sites –
day in and day out and
what sites to see with the
painted beauty of the ocean
and the beauty of the sky
above –
The little boat with the heavy
anchor never left the landing
and it was jealous and envious
and mad –
It just never saw anything at
all
while the other boats went out
every day – every day
and every day the beauty
was its own days beauty –
skies of red and golden,
skies of blue, sunlit skies,
star-studded, moonlit
nights – the ocean was never
the same – white - caps – waves,
calm, green and blues, oh
blues you never could imagine,
painted by the Creator daily for
that days splendor –
And the boats left the shore
they giggled as they went away –
to be led by the hand of God to
a new day's journey on the seas
of life –
God the artist –
The man the one waiting His favor –

A Prayer for Intimacy with the Lamb, the Bridegroom of the Soul
Oh Lamb of God, Who take away the sins of the world, come and act on my soul most intimately. I surrender myself, as I ask for the grace to let go, to just be as I exist in You and You act most intimately on my soul. You are the Initiator. I am the soul waiting Your favors as You act in me. I love You. I adore You. I worship You. Come and possess my soul with Your Divine Grace, as I experience You most intimately.
Sing: Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.
R. In the words of the song – we hear
I COME –
The man of love –> Comes
he is not a heavy anchor –
set on the shore life long –
The man follows Jesus –
He is in motion –
Every day is like a precious dream –
being united in their hearts
to God –
they sail the sea of life in
wonder to be ready for their
Captain running the ship,
by day, by night – every day –
every night –
In harmony with God –
Not "zigging" where God called him
to "zag"
And darkness covered the land and
one could see that blood
covered the moon –
but many were afraid –
but the men, one with God,
knew it was the Blood of the
Lamb and were not afraid –
In the darkness is the clamor of teeth
and the noises of chaos
In the dark of the just man is
a white blanket of snow
and even the darkness is
beautiful
For God never slumbers or sleeps
God is love –
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus I place my trust in Thee –
He says
"I come to you with greatest love"
The word come shows He is
in motion –
going out in love –
not static and frozen in fear –
anchored by a heavy anchor,
missing the days of life.
Jesus says:
I come
I come
I come
He is the Light in the Darkness –
like the Christmas Trees –
He shows us the Light of Life –
Even in the struggles of life –

Prayer for Union with Jesus
Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.
I am Yours to possess. I am Yours to use. I want to be selfless and only exist in You. Help me to spoon out all that is me and be an empty vessel ready to be filled by You. Help me to die to myself and live only for You. Use me as You will. Let me never draw my attention back to myself. I only want to operate as You do, dwelling within me.
I am Yours, Lord. I want to have my life in You. I want to do the will of the Father. Give me the strength to put aside the world and let You operate my very being. Help me to act as You desire. Strengthen me against the distractions of the devil to take me from Your work.
When I worry, I have taken my focus off of You and placed it on myself. Help me not to give in to the promptings of others to change what in my heart You are making very clear to me. I worship You, I adore You and I love You. Come and dwell in me now.

Holy Spirit Novena
Daily Novena Prayers
Opening Prayer
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Dear Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus, in union with Him in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, in the Holy Spirit. We come to You united to the Child Jesus of Good Health and the Infant of Prague. We come to You in the perfect, sinless heart of Our Mother Mary, asking her powerful intercession, uniting ourselves to her holy tears. We come to You united to all the angels and saints, and the souls in purgatory.
Prayer for Holy Spirit
We pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit on us, to be baptized by the Holy Spirit, that He will descend mightily on us as He did on the Apostles at Pentecost. That the Holy Spirit will transform us from fear to fearlessness and that He will give us courage to do all the Father is asking of us to help bring about the Reign of the Sacred Heart and the triumph of Mary's Immaculate Heart. We pray for the Holy Spirit to descend mightily on the Jesuits and the Poor Clares on the Shepherds of Christ leaders and members and on the whole Body of Christ and the world.
Protection by the Blood of Jesus
We pray that the Blood of Jesus will be spread on us, everyone in our families, and the Shepherds of Christ Movement, that we will be able to move steadfastly ahead and be protected from the evil one.
Healing
We pray for healing in body, mind, and soul and generational healing in ourselves, in all members in our families, and in all members of the Shepherds of Christ Movement, the Jesuit Community, the Poor Clares, the Body of Christ, and the world.
Prayer for Strength and Light
We adore You, oh Holy Spirit. Give us strength, give us light, console us. We give ourselves entirely to You. Oh Spirit of light and grace, we want to only do the will of the Father. Enlighten us that we may live always in the Father's will.
Eternal Spirit fill us with Your Divine Wisdom that we may comprehend more fully insight into Your Divine Mysteries.
Give us lights, Oh Holy Spirit that we may know God. Work within the heart, the spiritual womb of the Virgin Mary, to form us more and more into the image of Jesus.
Prayer to Be One with God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit
We long for You, Oh Spirit of Light, we long to know God, we want to be one with Him, our Divine God. We want to be one with the Father, know Him as a Person most intimately. We want to know the beloved One, the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and live and dwell in Him at all times, every moment of our lives. We want to be one with You, Oh Spirit of Light, that You move in us in our every breath.
Prayer to Be One in Jesus
Let us experience life in the Sacred Heart of Jesus, so we can say as Saint Paul, "I have been crucified with Christ and yet I am alive; yet it is no longer I, but Christ living in me...." Let us live, united to the Mass, all through the day being one in Him. Let us be able to love and know in this elevated state of oneness with our God. We long for Thee, oh beauteous God, we love You, we love You, we love You. We praise You, worship You, honor You, adore You, and thank You, our beloved God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Prayer to Dwell in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary
We seek to be one in God, to live and dwell in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, our little heaven on earth, to experience life in the all perfect, pure, sinless heart of our Mother. We want the Holy Spirit to move in us and to be united to Jesus as the Bridegroom of our souls and be a most perfect sacrifice offered to the Father at every moment as we unite in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass around the world to help in the salvation of souls.
Prayer for the Holy Spirit and His Gifts
Come Holy Spirit, come, come into our hearts, inflame all people with the fire of Your love.
Leader: Send forth Your Spirit and all will be reborn.
All: And You will renew the face of the earth. We pray for the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, we ask for perfection in our souls to make us holy, holy souls likened to God.
Dear Holy Spirit, we give ourselves to You soul and body. We ask You to give us the Spirit of Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety, and Fear of the Lord.
Prayer for the Word Alive in Our Hearts
We know, dear Holy Spirit, the Word in His human nature was brought forth within the womb of the woman. We pray that His word will be brought forth in our hearts as He lives and dwells in us. We want the incarnation to go on in our lives. Dear Holy Spirit, work in us.
Little Prayers to the Holy Spirit
Dear Holy Spirit, help us not to be ignorant or indifferent or weak, help us to be strong with the love of God.
Dear Holy Spirit, please pray for our needs for us.
Dear Holy Spirit, help us to respect God and to avoid sin. Help us to live in the Father's will.
Dear Holy Spirit, help us to keep Your commandments and to respect authority. Help us to love all things as You will us to love them. Help us to want to pray and always serve God with the greatest love. Help us to know the truth. Help us to have the gift of faith, hope, and love. Help us to know what is right and what is wrong.

Morning Offering
My dear Father, I offer You this day all my prayers, works, joys and sufferings, my every breath, my every heartbeat, my every thought, all my actions, in union with Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, in the Holy Spirit. I pray the Holy Spirit is with me every second today, enlightening me to do the Will of the Father and filling me with the fire of God's love.
I ask Jesus and Mary to be one in me in all that I do and I unite with all the angels and saints and souls in purgatory to pray continually to the Father for these intercessions, in this prayer, for this day.
For myself, I pray for grace-abundant grace, to know and love God more and more and to follow the Will of the Father. I pray to the Holy Spirit to transform me in the heart of Mary to be more and more like Jesus. I pray that I can forever dwell in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary. I pray for conversion of all those I hold dear who need conversion. I pray for each member of my family that they will be filled with Your abundant grace to grow in their knowledge and love of God.
I pray for all my friends that they will receive abundant grace to carry out the great plan of the Father, that they will grow forever closer to Jesus' Heart through Mary's heart, that we will all be led by the Holy Spirit to do His work, that we will, together, carry out the plan of the Father as He intends us to, to spread the love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary's heart to this world.
Jesus, I pray for myself so the Holy Spirit descends upon me and opens my heart to Your love so I will grow more and more deeply in union with You. I pray that I do not worry what other people think but try always to please the Father and do His Will. I pray that I may help lead many to Your burning love.
I pray for the following people in particular that they will be filled with the Spirit and grow deeply in their union with You, that they will receive abundant graces to know, love and serve You more. (Include special friends by name...)
I pray for priests the world over, for the success of the Priestly Newsletter, the Chapters and for the finances needed for the Newsletter. I pray for the circulation of the Blue Book messages, rosary meditations and tapes. I pray for all those involved in the publication of these messages.
I pray that You will shower Your abundant graces onto the priests reading the Newsletter the people reading and hearing the Blue Book messages and rosary meditations and all of Fr. Carter's publications.
We pray for the intentions we hold deep within our hearts, for our families and friends, for those requesting our prayers. We pray for children the world over and for the souls in purgatory. We ask God to shower His abundant grace on us and the members of our Shepherds of Christ Chapter so that we may grow more and more in our knowledge and love of God.
We consecrate ourselves to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary. We pray for Father Carter, for Father Smith, for Rita Ring, and for John Weickert, for all leaders and helpers in the Shepherds of Christ Movement, for Shepherds of Christ Ministries, and Our Lady of Light Ministry. We bind ourselves and our children and our friends to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. We place the precious blood of Jesus on ourselves, and all we touch, so that we will be protected from the evil one. We pray to St. Michael to cast the devil into hell.
We love You, God, we love You, we love You. We beg that we may receive the grace to love You more and more deeply. We adore You, we praise You, our beloved Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

A Prayer before the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass
Let me be a holy sacrifice and unite with God in the sacrament of His greatest love.
I want to be one in Him in this act of love, where He gives Himself to me and I give myself as a sacrifice to Him. Let me be a holy sacrifice as I become one with Him in this my act of greatest love to Him.
Let me unite with Him more, that I may more deeply love Him. May I help make reparation to His adorable Heart and the heart of His Mother, Mary. With greatest love, I offer myself to You and pray that You will accept my sacrifice of greatest love. I give myself to You and unite in Your gift of Yourself to me. Come and possess my soul.
Cleanse me, strengthen me, heal me. Dear Holy Spirit act in the heart of Mary to make me more and more like Jesus.
Father, I offer this my sacrifice, myself united to Jesus in the Holy Spirit to You. Help me to love God more deeply in this act of my greatest love.
Give me the grace to grow in my knowledge, love and service of You and for this to be my greatest participation in the Mass. Give me the greatest graces to love You so deeply in this Mass, You who are so worthy of my love.

R. Fr. Carter said that China was like a little Bethlehem.
Words of Fr. Carter February 18, 2000 - excerpt
...I think all of you here at China give a great witness to life of Jesus, Mary and Joseph at Nazareth and to the birthplace of Jesus in Bethlehem. Your life is so simple. It is so hidden and yet like the life of Jesus at Nazareth, it is meant to be redemptive. His life certainly was redemptive those first 33 years of His existence. And I think I said in a homily to you some months ago, that if we had it to plan we certainly would have arranged, I’m sure all of us, Jesus’ life here on earth differently. I don’t think in the depths of our heart if we’re honest with ourselves, if the Father says, “you map out the way you think Jesus, My Son, should live here below in the time allotted,” who of us, who of us would have had Him hidden away for 10/11ths of that mortal life span. We would have given much more time to His public life. And here Jesus under the Father teaches us a great lesson—that we share in His redemptive efforts proportionate to the depth of our love and as that life of love is supported by faith and hope so Jesus takes the most humble places and ...
Holy Family of Nazareth pray for us.

R. Wind can be so powerful, it can come from
almost nothing and then a powerful wind
can take up a house. In the West here has
been snow – very deep – then we have had
wind and rain and warm weather and
tornado watches. Is there really anything
man can do to control the weather.
People have gotten married and missed
the ceremony in the most terrible snow
storms and weather –
Christmas is a time to celebrate the birth
of our Savior. It is the story of love – far
beyond anything we could give.
In the world today there is disorder,
disease, death, disharmony, division
what started with the sin of Adam and
Eve.
We cannot control the weather – no
matter how we try. Adam and Eve were
given so many gifts and they disobeyed
God and they were thrown out of the Garden
of Paradise. But God promised us a
Redeemer.
We need each other. God shows
us that babies need parents to
survive. Old people cannot do for
themselves – Dear God please help us
to be as You desire us to be with
each other.
-God's Blue Book, January 17, 1994
A Prayer for Intimacy with the Lamb, the Bridegroom of the Soul
Oh Lamb of God, Who take away the sins of the world, come and act on my soul most intimately. I surrender myself, as I ask for the grace to let go, to just be as I exist in You and You act most intimately on my soul. You are the Initiator. I am the soul waiting Your favors as You act in me. I love You. I adore You. I worship You. Come and possess my soul with Your Divine Grace, as I experience You most intimately.

Sorrowful Mysteries
Agony in the Garden
1. Messenger: Be there with our beloved Jesus in the garden. Hear the sounds of the night. See Him as He kneels in such anguish, seeing all the things that are about to happen with His coming Passion.
2. And He cries out to His Father. Luke 22:42 " 'Father,' he said, 'if you are willing, take this cup away from me. Nevertheless, let your will be done, not mine.' "
3. Agonies of the heart...the greatest of all agonies. Jesus saw before Him the souls that He loved so dearly. Many souls would neglect Him and treat Him with such indifference.
4. The agonies He suffered to His Heart were so immense. The wounds in His Heart so deep.
5. He saw before Him all of His most beloved souls that would be condemned to eternal damnation despite all the sufferings that He was about to undergo.
6. His agony was so great that His sweat became as great drops of Blood upon the ground.
7. This is the reality: God runs the world. Jesus truly suffered for love of us. He gave His life and He suffered in the garden for all the sins that we are committing this day.
8. He saw before Him His entire Passion: the blows, the spitting, His death on the cross. He saw this. With greatest love of us, He endured the Passion to the end.
9. He was filled with such anguish and suffering that an angel of the Lord appeared to Him to comfort Him.
10. He waits endless hours in the tabernacle today. Jesus Christ, the Son of God in His Divinity and His humanity, waits for us to come and to be with Him. He said in the garden: Matthew 26:40-41 "He came back to the disciples and found them sleeping, and he said to Peter, 'So you had not the strength to stay awake with me for one hour? Stay awake, and pray not to be put to the test. The spirit is willing enough, but human nature is weak.' " Can we visit Him today in the tabernacle?
Scourging at the Pillar
1. Messenger: See Jesus as they tie Him to the pillar. He is God-made-man.
2. With anger in their hearts, they beat Jesus to the point of their own exhaustion.
3. Hear the sounds as they beat Jesus. They hit His precious back. Hear the blows over and over again as it tears at His flesh. Do you hear Jesus as He makes whimpering sounds? The men are filled with anger and hatred, and they beat Jesus with great force.
4. Do we have any idea what it is like to suffer as Jesus suffered for love of us?
5. How deep are the wounds that covered His entire Body as they stood by mercilessly and they beat Him?
6. Think of how Jesus suffered. Be there at the pillar and hear the sounds. See what He went through: their anger and their voices hollering at Jesus. He was mercilessly tied to the pillar while they struck Him, God Who is all love.
7. SONG: A Song from Jesus
8. SONG: Teach Me to Love With Your Heart (verse 1)
9. SONG: Teach Me to Love With Your Heart (verse 2)
10. SONG: Teach Me to Love With Your Heart (verse 3)
The Crowning of Thorns
1. Messenger: They pounded a piercing crown of thorns into Jesus' most precious head.
2. They put a dirty purple robe on Jesus and they sat Him on a throne. They mocked Him and they spit on Him, and they hollered ugly slanders against Him.
3. SONG: God's Love (verse 1)
4. SONG: God's Love (verse 4)
5. He is truly here with us, and His Heart is ablaze with love that radiates for us. We are His beloved ones. He withstood all this torture so that we might have eternal life, so that He might have the deepest union with us. And some day, if we go to heaven, we will be forever united to Jesus, the Father, and the Holy Spirit in such close union that will last forever and ever and ever. He shed and gave His last drop of Blood for love of each one of us.
6. SONG: A Song from Jesus
7. He is present in the tabernacle with such love for each one of us as He had the day they crowned Him with thorns and poked Him and spat on Him. He is with us this day, no less present than the day He was scourged and crowned with thorns. He loves us so much. He shed His Blood and gave the last beat of His Heart.
8. Hail Mary.....
9. Hail Mary.....
10. Hail Mary.....
Jesus Carries His Cross
1. Messenger: He carried His cross on His most precious shoulder. The weight was so heavy that it felt as if His shoulder would break. He did not give up His cross. When the weight was too heavy for Him to bear, He collapsed under the weight of it.
2. SONG: Under the Weight of the Wood
3. Jesus traveled with His cross on His back. His Heart was in such anguish for all the souls that would reject the grace for eternal salvation that He would merit for them.
4. Jesus is our focus. The more we are drawn to the immense love of this most Sacred Heart, the more we realize how He is truly alive this day. He loves each one of us. We will experience the peace, the joy, and the love that He wants us to have. We will be His lights shining in this world.
5. He has DIVINE LIFE and DIVINE LOVE in His most Sacred Heart. He outpours HIS LIFE TO US. He merited this grace for us by His death on the cross.
6. As His Mother walked along side of Him on Calvary, she walks along side of each of us. She never leaves our side. She withstood all this suffering. She knew what it was like to suffer. She did not take anything to relieve the suffering and she did not leave His side. She withstood such suffering, standing by His side. She stands by our side as we walk our path, which sometimes seems like a slow Calvary. But Mary is by our side with such love. She gives us her maternal love. She mothers us as the most perfect Mother. God the Father chose Mary as Mother of Jesus and us.
7. When our path is so hard we must realize Mary is always with us. It is God's grace that will get us through.
8. Jesus' grace is sufficient for every trial that you are experiencing this day. We must go to Him, go to His most Sacred Heart through Mary's Immaculate Heart. Mary leads us to Him. He is Love.
9. SONG: Little Baby Hands and Feet (verse 1)
10. SONG: Little Baby Hands and Feet (verse 2)
Jesus is Crucified and Dies on the Cross
1. Messenger: See Mary as she holds the tender feet and the tender hands of the Child Jesus. And see her as she sees them nail His precious hands and feet with big nails into the cross.
2. How deep are the wounds in Thy precious hands and Thy feet, oh Jesus? How deep, oh Jesus, are the wounds to Your Heart? You suffered so for souls. Oh precious Jesus, fill our hearts with Your divine love and Your divine grace so that we may never wound Thy Sacred Heart with indifference, with neglect. Fill us with Your divine life so that we will always be drawn to the source of real life which is only found in You. I am sorry for all who neglect you in the Holy Eucharist.
3. You gave Your very flesh, You gave all the Blood in Your veins. You spread Your arms and You gave Your all for love of us, dear Jesus. And this day, You give Yourself in Your Divinity and Your humanity, with greatest love, in the Holy Eucharist. Help us, dear Jesus, to be deeply aware that you are truly the Son of God and that when we receive You, we receive God in our hearts.
4. SONG: A Song From Jesus
5. You ask us to love God and love one another. You were beaten for love of our brothers. Why can't we love our brothers? You call us to love as You loved us. You call us to give our lives for our brothers.
6. Oh Mary, as you stand under the cross, how deep is the anguish to your Heart? You have no wounds, you have no scars. You're supported by your beloved John. And this day you walk by our side and you support us as we walk what seems to be a Calvary sometimes. You forever walk by our side and hold us up with such motherly love. You gave Jesus such love as you stood under His cross. Thank you, Mary, for the love that you outpour to us.
7. SONG: I Love You Jesus (verse 1)
8. Let us see, Oh Mary, through your eyes, the love that your precious Son has for us. Let us be joined ever closer to the tender Heart of Jesus through your most Immaculate Heart. Jesus gave the last drop of His Blood and the last beat of His Heart for love of us.
9. SONG: I Love You, Jesus (verse 2)
10. SONG: I Love You, Jesus (verse 3)

Isaiah 62: 1-5
The splendour of Jerusalem
About Zion I will not be silent,
about Jerusalem I shall not rest
until saving justice dawns for her
like a bright light
and her salvation like a blazing torch.
The nations will then see
your saving justice,
and all kings your glory,
and you will be called a new name
which Yahweh's mouth will reveal.
You will be a crown of splendour
in Yahweh's hand,
a princely diadem in the hand of your God.
No more will you be known as 'Forsaken'
or your country be known as 'Desolation';
instead, you will be called
'My Delight is in her'
and your country 'The Wedded';
for Yahweh will take delight in you
and your country will have its wedding.
Like a young man marrying a virgin,
your rebuilder will wed you,
and as the bridegroom rejoices in his bride,
so will your God rejoice in you.
Psalm 89: 4-5, 16-17, 27, 29
I have made your dynasty firm for ever,
built your throne stable age after age.' PauseThe heavens praise your wonders, Yahweh,
your constancy in the gathering of your faithful. In your name they rejoice all day long,
by your saving justice they are raised up.You are the flower of their strength,
by your favour our strength is triumphant; So I shall make him my first-born,
the highest of earthly kings.I have established his dynasty for ever,
his throne to be as lasting as the heavens.
Acts 13: 16-17, 22-25
Paul stood up, raised his hand for silence and began to speak:
'Men of Israel, and fearers of God, listen! The God of our nation Israel chose our ancestors and made our people great when they were living in Egypt, a land not their own; then by divine power he led them out he deposed him and raised up David to be king, whom he attested in these words, "I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart, who will perform my entire will." To keep his promise, God has raised up for Israel one of David’s descendants, Jesus, as Saviour, whose coming was heralded by John when he proclaimed a baptism of repentance for the whole people of Israel. Before John ended his course he said, "I am not the one you imagine me to be; there is someone coming after me whose sandal I am not fit to undo."
Matthew 1: 18-25
This is how Jesus Christ came to be born. His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph; but before they came to live together she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. Her husband Joseph, being an upright man and wanting to spare her disgrace, decided to divorce her informally. He had made up his mind to do this when suddenly the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, ‘Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because she has conceived what is in her by the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son and you must name him Jesus, because he is the one who is to save his people from their sins.’ Now all this took place to fulfil what the Lord had spoken through the prophet:
Look! the virgin is with child
and will give birth to a son
whom they will call Immanuel,a name which means ‘God–is–with–us’. When Joseph woke up he did what the angel of the Lord had told him to do: he took his wife to his home; he had not had intercourse with her when she gave birth to a son; and he named him Jesus.

Christmas
INTRODUCTION: In our first reading we hear from Isaiah the prophet who lived 700 years before Christ. The king who reigned at the time of Isaiah refused to trust in God and his policies brought darkness and gloom upon God's people. We hear Isaiah prophesy the birth of a king whose reign would bring peace and justice to God's people.
HOMILY: On Christmas morning, little five year old Tommy wasn't thrilled with the few toys and lots of clothes he had received. As he slowly trudged upstairs after opening his presents, his dad asked: "where are you going?" "To my room" he said, "to play with my new socks." (Reader's Digest: Dec. 2008, pg. 206)
As she prepared to wrap her Christmas presents, a mother discovered she didn't have any Christmas wrapping paper. The only wrapping paper she had said "Happy Birthday" on it. So she improvised. She got a big marking pen and wrote the word "Jesus" after "Happy Birthday." (Reader's Digest, Dec. 2012, pg 21)
In our first reading today, we heard the prophet Isaiah tell God's people that God would send them a king who would bring peace and justice to the people. He would not be like the king who was reigning at that time. It took 700 years before Isaiah's prophecy would come true. You would think that God's people would have forgotten about this prophecy, but they didn't. Their hope was still very much alive at the time of Jesus, waiting with high expectation for that Wonder-counselor, God-hero, father-forever and prince of peace, as Isaiah had foretold. Today we celebrate his birth.
He came to us in in utter simplicity and humility, but the angels of God and the stars in the sky could not contain themselves. They had to announce his birth to everyone from those at the bottom of the social ladder, the shepherds, and to those whom society held in high esteem, the magi. Over two billion people in the world today celebrate his birth and praise God for the gift of Jesus.
Jesus didn't come just for us to make a big deal over his birth. He wants us to learn from his teachings, to imitate his example of love, to accept him as our savior and to find in him our hope. He wants us to spend eternity with him. We sometimes wonder where is that peace he came to bring, the love he taught, the eternal life he came to give. People still suffer, get sick, start wars, steal, cheat and kill. Where is the new life he came to bring us? First of all, we have to buy into his message to know his new life. Second, we have to realize that the peace he brings is not of this world, nor is his kingdom of this world. Only when we accept him fully into our lives does it all begin to make sense.
St. Luke and St. Matthew tell us very little about the birth itself, but St. Luke keeps us focused on the manger in which Jesus lay. Most commentators see a connection between the manger of Jesus and a statement in the beginning of the book of Isaiah. Isaiah told God's people, "Sons I have raised and reared, but they have disowned me! An ox knows its owner, and a donkey, its master's manger; but Israel does not know, my people has not understood." In other words, even a dumb animal knows who takes care of it and feeds it, but God's people did not know their God who took care of them. When the angel announced the birth of Jesus to the shepherds they went to find the baby Jesus in a manger. In other words, Luke is telling us God's people are beginning to find their God again in Jesus. And in finding him, God's people will be cared for and fed by him. Jesus himself tells us: "I am the bread of life." He feeds us and nourishes us with his word and with his love. He invites us to be at least as smart as an ox and a donkey who know who takes care of them and feeds them. (One other detail I might interject here: Bethlehem comes from two Hebrew words, which mean "the house of bread.) Jesus wants us to do more than make a big deal out of his birth; he wants us to come to him and to find our life and our inner strength in him. As he tells us, he is the way, the truth and the life.
I want to thank all of you who have come here today to celebrate Jesus coming to us. May he fill your hearts with joy, and may his love strengthen you all through the year. Amen.

Excerpt from The Spirituality of Fatima
by Fr. Edward Carter, S.J.
July 13, 1917
"During her appearance in July, Our Lady, in answer to Lucia's plea, promised that in October she would work a great miracle so that all might believe and know who she was. Again, the Mother of God told the children to sacrifice themselves for sinners and to say many times, especially when making a sacrifice, this prayer: "O my Jesus, I offer this for love of Thee, for the conversion of poor sinners, and in reparation for all the sins committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary." (11)
"During this same July apparition, Mary showed the three children a vision of Hell. She told them:
"You have seen Hell, where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish, in the world, devotion to my Immaculate Heart. If people do what I tell you, many souls will be saved and there will be peace.
"The war (World War I, then raging) is going to end. But if people do not stop offending God, another and worse one will begin in the reign of Pius XI. When you shall see a night illuminated by an unknown light [January 2, 1938], know that this is the great sign that God gives you that He is going to punish the world for its many crimes by means of war, hunger, and persecution of the Church and the Holy Father. (12)
"To prevent this, I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart and the Communion of Reparation on the five first Saturdays. If my requests are granted, Russia will be converted and there will be peace. If not, she will scatter her errors throughout the world, provoking wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred, the Holy Father will have much to suffer, and various nations will be destroyed....
"But in the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph, the Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, Russia will be converted, and a certain period of peace will be granted to the world." (13)
