7th Holy Spirit Novena |
The Novena Rosary
Mysteries |
Pray for Bob & special intentions.
Consecration Prayer for Peace
I consecrate Russia and the Ukraine to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
I further consecrate the priests, the Church and the world to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary.
I do this in the name of Jesus in as far as I am able, united to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, praying to the Father, in the Holy Spirit, with all the angels and saints and the souls in purgatory through the powerful intercession of Mary, Queen of Peace. Amen.
I further consecrate myself, all members of my family and ask the Holy Spirit to fill us. I spread the Blood of Jesus on all above, I cast the devil into hell away from all of us and consecrate all persons, in as far as I am able, to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart.
Prayer for Grace for Election and our Country
Dear Father united to Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Sacrifice of Calvary sacramentally made present, celebrated around the world, in the Holy Spirit. We offer up all we do united to the Mass. We unite in one mind and one heart as members of the mystical body of Christ, with Christ our head in the pure and holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary, through the powerful intercession of Mary with all the angels and saints and souls in purgatory, and we beg for the saving grace, for our country, the United States. Please help us. We further pray for unity to always do the will of God in love. We spread the Blood of Jesus on the leaders and people of the United States and cast the devil into hell. We consecrate our country to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and all our dioceses, and beg for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God help us. We pray for our families, the priests, the Church and the world. In the Name of Jesus please hear us, we pray. We pray for our president and leaders. We pray that we are united as one nation under God to work together in love as God wants.

Mary:
Your Heavenly Father
allowed me to appear on
the 5ths.
His will was love and fervor
to pray in reparation for the
blasphemies against me
and the 5 wounds of My
Son Jesus.
Miracles of healing were
promised to those who
faithfully pray with fervor
and devotion as God the
Father asked for over 29
years ago.
I am the Immaculate
Conception,
Your Mother of love and
purity and truth.
Sing: Immaculate Mary
Fr. Carter's Last Homily
September 8, 2000
Look! the virgin is with child
and will give birth to a son
whom they will call Immanuel,
a name which means ‘God–is–with–us’.
Matthew 1:23HOMILY – We notice that the Church in Her liturgy for the celebration of the birthday, the Birth of Mary, immediately puts her with Jesus: "She will give birth to a son and you must name him Jesus, because he is the one who is to save his people from their sins." (Mt 1:21) – words from today's Gospel.
And so the Church reminds us that Mary was born for the sake of Jesus. Again, in celebrating her birth, the Church links her very, very directly with Jesus. Yes, this is the reason for her birth: to be Mother of Jesus, and in doing that, everything else about her takes its proper place.
And just as Mary was dedicated entirely to Jesus and to His cause, we in giving her a birthday present of the highest value can only promise her, "Mary, as you were completely dedicated to Jesus, help me be completely dedicated to Him. You were His first and perfect disciple. Teach me to imitate you in the putting on of Christ."

This is Our Lady and the
Child Jesus |
St. Bernard, Doctor of the Church, which means he is not only outstanding for his holiness but for his spiritual wisdom, gives us some very, very tender and moving words concerning Mary in our life. He says, "If you will not be submerged by tempests, do not turn away your eyes from the splendor of this star. If the storms of temptation arise, if you crash against the rocks of tribulation, look to the star [that star, of course, is Mary], call upon Mary. If you are tossed about on the waves of pride, of ambition, of slander, of hostility, look to the star, call upon Mary. If wrath or avarice or the enticements of the flesh upset the boat of your mind, look to Mary. If you are disturbed by the immensity of your crimes...If you begin to be swallowed up by the abyss of depression and despair, think of Mary! In danger, in anxieties, in doubt, think of Mary, call upon Mary. Let her name not leave your lips, nor your heart, and that you may receive the help of her prayer, do not cease to follow the example of her conduct...If she holds you, you will not fall, if she protects you, you need not fear."1

From the Priestly Newsletter Book IIIThe Holy Spirit in Our Lives
"The Holy Spirit gives the answers to those questions which the mind cannot answer because the mind invariably couples the word ‘why’ with the word ‘I’. ‘Why must I endure this suffering? Why am I denied what others have? Why must I be the way I am, live the way I do?’ These are some of the most essential and decisive questions in the life of the individual, and to those questions men and books remain silent. The true answer comes only when our heart is free from revolt and bitterness, when our will has come to terms with life as it is for us, recognizing in it the working of the will of God. The intellect may acquiesce readily enough, but this is not sufficient. Instruction must go deeper. Acceptance must come from our inmost heart. Only then will we find the answer to the why, and with it, peace, for truth brings peace. This is the work of the Holy Spirit."
8. Romano Guardini, Prayer in Practice, Pantheon Books, pp. 116-117.
From a Spiritual Journal
(Rita Ring)
~ Here are words from a spiritual journal: "For there is but one thing I seek-it is the desire of my soul to live in truth. As I live in Him, His truth lives in me, and I act in His truth. There is but one truth and it is His truth. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He is alive in us and we live in His truth.
"I see the martyrs, those that were wlling to give their lives for Him, for this truth. Many went to a brutal death in total isolation, wanting only their God. Within the soul is this intense craving for God that cannot be satisfied by any earthly person, place, or thing. Within the soul is this driving thirst for this intense union with God. It is a driving force that leads a soul, such as a martyr, to choose Him rather than one's own life on earth. It may not be that God will call us to martyrdom, but living in today's world which is permeated to such a great degree with secularism, we have many occasions each day to suffer little martyrdoms as we strive always to live in His truth. These little encounters with death, as I will call them, bring us closer to Him Who is the Truth. For every time we choose to die to that part of the world which is untruth and live for Him, we experience a new sharing in His resurrection.
"So many today think that suffering is something to steer clear of. True, we may take those means of alleviating suffering which are according to God's will. But in this life, suffering is inevitable. A study of the life of our Savior shows us this. In His truth He teaches us that suffering encountered according to the Father's will truly leads to greater life.
"I must speak further of the truth, for it is that I wish to address. There is but one truth, it is found in Jesus. That center of truth is found within all of us. But this place is affected by our surroundings and the information we allow ourselves to take in. In the purity of our reading material, in the proper screening of all we watch and things we engage in, we can keep this center of truth most optimally connected to Him Who is the absolute Truth.
"The truth is found in living in God's will. At every moment the Father wishes us to live according to His plan with Christ, in the Holy Spirit, aided by the maternal intercession of Mary. Living in this way, we help to bring about the reign of Jesus' Heart and the triumph of Mary's Heart."
Sorrowful Mysteries
The Agony in the
Garden
1. Luke 22:
39-46
He then left to make his way as usual to the Mount of Olives, with the disciples following. When he reached the place he said to them, ‘Pray not to be put to the test.’
Then he withdrew from them, about a stone’s throw away, and knelt down and prayed. ‘Father,’ he said, ‘if you are willing, take this cup away from me. Nevertheless, let your will be done, not mine.’ Then an angel appeared to him, coming from heaven to give him strength. In his anguish he prayed even more earnestly, and his sweat fell to the ground like great drops of blood. When he rose from prayer he went to the disciples and found them sleeping for sheer grief. And he said to them, ‘Why are you asleep? Get up and pray not to be put to the test.’
2. Jesus took Peter,
James
and John into the Garden.
3. 1 Corinthians 12:27
Now Christ's body is yourselves, each of you with a part to play in the whole.
4. We live the life,
death,
and resurrection of Christ
in our lives.
5. Jesus in His Divine
knowing knew all the
sins of mankind.
6. Jesus' anguish was so
great, He sweat Blood.
7. Jesus went to them 3 times
to pray and the apostles
slept.
8. Do we not see Jesus truly
present in the Eucharist?
Are we sleeping?
9. Oh Jesus, we are sorry
for our sins.
10. Prayer of St Ignatius
Soul of Christ, sanctify me
Body of Christ, save me
Blood of Christ, inebriate me
Water from the side of Christ wash me
Passion of Christ, strengthen me
O good Jesus, hear me
Within Thy wounds hide me
Permit me not to be separated from Thee
From the wicked foe defend me
at the hour of my death call me
and bid me come to Thee
That with Thy saints I may praise Thee
For ever and ever. Amen.

The Scourging at the Pillar
1. Matthew 27: 24-26
Then Pilate saw that he was making no impression, that in fact a riot was imminent. So he took some water, washed his hands in front of the crowd and said, ‘I am innocent of this man’s blood. It is your concern.’ And the people, every one of them, shouted back, ‘Let his blood be on us and on our children!’ Then he released Barabbas for them. After having Jesus scourged he handed him over to be crucified.
2. Prayer of St. Francis
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, life.
Where there is darkness, light.
Where there is sadness, joy.O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled, as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned.
It is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
3. Excerpt from Priestly Newsletter 1998 - Issue 4
3Shortly before he was to die from cancer, Joseph Cardinal Bernardin left us these inspiring words about peace: "It is the first day of November, and fall is giving way to winter. Soon the trees will lose the vibrant colors of their leaves and snow will cover the ground. The earth will shut down, and people will race to and from their destinations bundled up for warmth. Chicago winters are harsh. It is a time of dying.
"But we know that spring will soon come with all its new life and wonder.
"It is quite clear that I will not be alive in the spring. But I will soon experience new life in a different way...
"What I would like to leave behind is a simple prayer that each of you may find what I have found—God's special gift to us all: the gift of peace. When we are at peace, we find the freedom to be most fully who we are, even in the worst of times. We let go of what is non-essential and embrace what is essential. We empty ourselves so that God may more fully work within us. And we become instruments in the hands of the Lord."
3. Joseph Cardinal Bernardin, The Gift of Peace, Loyola University Press, pp. 151-153.
4. Jesus knew
everything.
He knew every whip lash
before it hit Him.
5. Jesus said "Yes" over and
over again for love of us.
6. They beat Jesus raw, His
body a bloody mess.
7. Jesus said "Yes" to every
blow.
8. They tore His flesh.
9. Jesus loves us this much.
More than we can
understand.
10. Jesus endured all this
pain!!!
The Crowning with Thorns
1. Matthew 27: 27-31
Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus with them into the Praetorium and collected the whole cohort round him. And they stripped him and put a scarlet cloak round him, and having twisted some thorns into a crown they put this on his head and placed a reed in his right hand. To make fun of him they knelt to him saying, ‘Hail, king of the Jews!’ And they spat on him and took the reed and struck him on the head with it. And when they had finished making fun of him, they took off the cloak and dressed him in his own clothes and led him away to crucifixion.
2. From the Priestly Newsletter Book III
The Christian and the World
Growth in the life of prayer not only deepens our relationship with God in Christ, it also deepens our relationship with all members of the human family. Prayer deepens our determination to do our part in helping to make the world a more fit dwelling place for ourselves and all our brothers and sisters.
3. The Christian and the World (excerpt)
God calls us to share His love for His creation. Growth in Christ develops our awareness of this truth. The Christian should have a deeper love for the world than the non-believer. All that is good and true and beautiful, all the good we humans reach out for in hope, all the possibilities for our true earthly progress, all the worthwhile and enthusiastic dreams of the human heart for a better world—yes, the Christian should yearn more deeply for all this than does the non-believer.
4. Christ was
crowned, with
holes in His head.
He did this for us.
We are to reach out and
do our part in the world.
5. Christ is the King of
Kings and Lord of Lords.
6. They pounded and
pounded His head, can
we offer up our sufferings,
today for the priest, the
Church and the world.
7. The Christian knows the
world belongs to Christ.
8. The Christian knows that
the human family's pursuit
of true, the good, the
beautiful is really the
pursuit of Christ.
9. We need to be united to the
Holy Sacrifice of the Mass
in our Morning Offering.

The Carrying of
the Cross
1. Mark 15:
15-23
So Pilate, anxious to placate the crowd, released Barabbas for them and, after having Jesus scourged, he handed him over to be crucified. The soldiers led him away to the inner part of the palace, that is, the Praetorium, and called the whole cohort together. They dressed him up in purple, twisted some thorns into a crown and put it on him. And they began saluting him, 'Hail, king of the Jews!' They struck his head with a reed and spat on him; and they went down on their knees to do him homage. And when they had finished making fun of him, they took off the purple and dressed him in his own clothes. They led him out to crucify him.
They enlisted a passer-by, Simon of Cyrene, father of Alexander and Rufus, who was coming in from the country, to carry his cross. They brought Jesus to the place called Golgotha, which means the place of the skull. They offered him wine mixed with myrrh, but he refused it.
2. Jesus: I
carried the heavy
cross laden with your sins.
3. Jesus: There are sins of
omission, from ignoring
responsibility and
accountability.
4. Jesus: There are sins of
malice of intent from anger,
bitterness, willfulness,
jealousy, lust, slothfulness,
envy, gluttony.
5. Jesus: I carried the weight
of these sins on My back,
I fell under this weight 3
times.
6. Jesus: I endured to the
bitter end for My love of
you,
7. Jesus: God the Father
created you to go home to
heaven someday, a reward
for those who love and
serve God.
8. Jesus: You are to obey
the commandments of God.
9. Jesus: God must be first
in your lives, you cannot
lie (deceive),
steal, kill, be unloving and
punishing your innocent
neighbors if you want to
be pure..
10. Jesus: I carried the heavy
cross laden with the sins
of the
world and I fell under it, 3
times, I got up because I
love you.
The Crucifixion
1. Jesus: On Calvary, they stripped
Me of My garments for
your sins.
2. Jesus: They laid Me on a cross
of bare wood, nailed My
hands as they stretched My
shoulders out of socket,
I endured this for your sins.
3. Jesus: They nailed My feet
with a big nail.
4. Jesus: Pain, pain you hold
onto and punish innocent
others, pain of self pity -
do you know the pain of
hanging by nails driven
into your hands and feet?
5. Jesus: I hung to My death
for the hard stubborn hearts
carrying unforgiveness and
punishing others for their
darkness inside.
6. Jesus: I give you My Heart
of burning love and thirst
after your love and what
you do to others, you
did to Me.
Holding on to pain
because you want to. You
were created for love and
helping to spread My
Kingdom.
7. Jesus: I died for you,
I love you.
I want you to obey the
Laws of God and love.
8. Jesus: I died so you could
live a new life and how
do you live?
9. Jesus: I am the suffering
servant. I died for your
sins, My child? I love
you so much.
I offer you forgiveness
and mercy.
10. Jesus: Heaven is for real,
it is a reward promised to
those who love and serve
the Lord.
Your Heavenly Father
created you in love for
this purpose: to know,
love and serve Him and
thereby attain your
eternal salvation in heaven.
I died for you so you
could have new life.
God the Father loves you,
He is your Heavenly Father
and Mary is your spiritual
Mother.
I give you these love-
letters to love Me and
serve God,
I love you so much,
My Heart is burning with
Divine love for you.
Turn from your ways of
sin. I paid for your sins,
I love you.
Your eternal salvation
waits, but you must live
by God's Plan.
Hard hearts, sin takes you
away from this. I give
forgiveness and mercy for
the repentant sinner.
Come and be cleansed.

|
Guiding Light homily series — Reflect on the Word — Cycle B The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand. $10 |
Guiding Light homily series — Steadfast to the Son — Cycle A The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $10 |
Guiding Light — Focusing on the Word — Cycle B At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $10 |
Guiding Light — Feed My Soul — Cycle C In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $10 |
