Today's Readings
Deuteronomy 18: 15-20
Yahweh your God will raise up a prophet like me; you will listen to him. This is exactly what you asked Yahweh your God to do—at Horeb, on the day of the Assembly, when you said, "Never let me hear the voice of Yahweh my God or see this great fire again, or I shall die." Then Yahweh said to me, "What they have said is well said. From their own brothers I shall raise up a prophet like yourself; I shall put my words into his mouth and he will tell them everything I command him. Anyone who refuses to listen to my words, spoken by him in my name, will have to render an account to me. But the prophet who presumes to say something in my name which I have not commanded him to say, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet must die."

Come, let us cry out with joy to Yahweh,
acclaim the rock of our salvation.
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving,
acclaim him with music.Come, let us bow low and do reverence;
kneel before Yahweh who made us!
For he is our God,
and we the people of his sheepfold,
the flock of his hand.If only you would listen to him today!
Do not harden your hearts as at Meribah,
as at the time of Massah in the desert,
when your ancestors challenged me,
put me to the test, and saw what I could do!
1 Corinthians 7: 32-35
I should like you to have your minds free from all worry. The unmarried man gives his mind to the Lord’s affairs and to how he can please the Lord; but the man who is married gives his mind to the affairs of this world and to how he can please his wife, and he is divided in mind. So, too, the unmarried woman, and the virgin, gives her mind to the Lord’s affairs and to being holy in body and spirit; but the married woman gives her mind to the affairs of this world and to how she can please her husband. I am saying this only to help you, not to put a bridle on you, but so that everything is as it should be, and you are able to give your undivided attention to the Lord.
Mark 1: 21-28
They went as far as Capernaum, and at once on the Sabbath he went into the synagogue and began to teach. And his teaching made a deep impression on them because, unlike the scribes, he taught them with authority.
And at once in their synagogue there was a man with an unclean spirit, and he shouted, ‘What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are: the Holy One of God.’ But Jesus rebuked it saying, ‘Be quiet! Come out of him!’ And the unclean spirit threw the man into convulsions and with a loud cry went out of him. The people were so astonished that they started asking one another what it all meant, saying, ‘Here is a teaching that is new, and with authority behind it: he gives orders even to unclean spirits and they obey him.’ And his reputation at once spread everywhere, through all the surrounding Galilean countryside.

R. Jesus was not afraid of evil –
He wants us to address it head on
The world, the flesh and the devil –
The devil is for real
Devils are smart –
They can work more effectively –
Exorcism makes up a large part of
healing that Jesus did in the Gospels
of Matthew, Mark and Luke
Jesus is considered a great teacher –
We as Christians see Jesus is the
Holy One of God –
When He speaks we must listen
to Him –
We don't hear much about the
devil any more –
the devil is real –
There are demons working in the world –
Jesus had to drive out a demon –
The devil approaches us from where
we are weakest –
For anger – the devil helps us
see that we stay angry –
God can help us in time
of temptation –

R. Anger is we think somebody did something to
us and we are mad because we blame them
for their actions to us.
Anger can make a person think they happy because
they can blame the darkness they feel
inside on someone else. It can give
pleasure to feel someone owes us recompense
for how we may choose to be dark and
angry inside.
The devil can press on a person whose
life has been lived in darkness and pain inside
and they pin their anger on an innocent
person in their present life – who had no
part in their choosing irritation, pain,
isolation life long.
God has called us to the light – He has
commanded us to love Him first above
all things and to honor and worship
and obey Him. God has commanded us
to love our neighbor as ourselves. When
we live our lives in darkness, not
loving God first, not looking for the light
then we are opposing God's will.
Living against God's will can make a person
angry, living in darkness, not living in
the light can make a person angry.
Living - is God's will for us. He put us
on this earth – He commanded us to love
Him with our whole heart, our whole
soul, our whole being –
When we opposed this, as first in
our life –
When we choose a life-time of darkness,
not trusting any person – really – not
being friends with God or others in true
love as God calls us to –
We are opposing God's will –
Disobeying His commandment of love.
Anger brings energy with it. An angry
man wants what he see as justice
for the wrong committed against him –
A person who has done nothing can be
the object of one who has been angry
their whole life. They can use that person
to project their anger on and they do not
even see – their whole life they were
angry and unforgiving.
They can have wounds from childhood
and past relationships they covered up
and in an attempt to settle unfinished
business inside of themselves – keep
causing problems with others and
then making up in attempting to settle
their unrelented spirit of pain
inside.
A person who must work in a
relationship with another can live
in this destructive relationship
orchestrated by the member who
from habit – just keeps their cycle
of abuse going – like a roller coaster –
they run a cycle where they engage
in holding out, punishment and
argumentation, using needed work
accomplished as a weapon for how
they are justified to orchestrate
anger at another – they have chosen
to pin their anger on their forehead
because – they want to be justified
in their anger and they feel relief
knowing they have acted – out their anger
on a person who they want to make
recompense to them for their own
self - inflicted darkness –
free choice –
opposed to the Heavenly Father's Plan
of love –
Passion has been given to man to
seek good and avoid evil –
