The Novena Rosary
Mysteries |
Pray for special intentions.
Prayer for Grace for our Country
Dear Father united to Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Sacrifice of Calvary sacramentally made present, celebrated around the world, in the Holy Spirit. We offer up all we do united to the Mass. We unite in one mind and one heart as members of the mystical body of Christ, with Christ our head in the pure and holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary, through the powerful intercession of Mary with all the angels and saints and souls in purgatory, and we beg for the saving grace, for our country, the United States. Please help us. We further pray for unity to always do the will of God in love. We spread the Blood of Jesus on the leaders and people of the United States and cast the devil into hell. We consecrate our country to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and all our dioceses, and beg for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God help us. We pray for our families, the priests, the Church and the world. In the Name of Jesus please hear us, we pray. We pray for our president and leaders. We pray that we are united as one nation under God to work together in love as God wants.

Glorious Mysteries
The Resurrection
1. We die with Jesus to really find ourselves in Him.
2. We die to the self, which is not the authentic
self, in order to rise to the self we really
are meant to be.
3. We were put on this earth to prepare for heaven,
to be purified, as we witness and help
build the Kingdom of God so we can have our true
home in heaven.
4. We were created in the image and likeness
of God, we need to die to the ways
not like Jesus and rise in Him.
5. Death / Resurrection - the Pascal Mystery –
The more we die to the false self and
rise in Him – the more free we are.
6. Our freedom is a gift through
which we achieve our truly identity,
our true self as God wants.
7. We can turn away from the true self
to be more in the image of God
and develop the false self.
8. The more one does this he becomes
more self-enclosed!!
9. The more the one turns to the false-self
the more he becomes enclosed
to his selfish ego!!
10. We must be constantly living
ON-GOING – CONVERSION.
Mary said at Fatima we must
convert.
To live the true-self is
structured in Jesus,
in reality - in freedom.
The Ascension
1. Sing: Glory, Glory, Glory Lord
2. Romans 8: 5-9
Those who are living by their natural inclinations have their minds on the things human nature desires; those who live in the Spirit have their minds on spiritual things. And human nature has nothing to look forward to but death, while the Spirit looks forward to life and peace, because the outlook of disordered human nature is opposed to God, since it does not submit to God's Law, and indeed it cannot, and those who live by their natural inclinations can never be pleasing to God. You, however, live not by your natural inclinations, but by the Spirit, since the Spirit of God has made a home in you. Indeed, anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.
3. Acts 1: 6-9
Now having met together, they asked him, 'Lord, has the time come for you to restore the kingdom to Israel?' He replied, 'It is not for you to know times or dates that the Father has decided by his own authority, but you will receive the power of the Holy Spirit which will come on you, and then you will be my witnesses not only in Jerusalem but throughout Judaea and Samaria, and indeed to earth's remotest end.'
As he said this he was lifted up while they looked on, and a cloud took him from their sight.

June 12, 2011 - Pentecost
Sometimes it’s very clear and sometimes it’s challenging to know what God is saying to us. I felt pretty much like that minister when I was trying to figure out just what I should say about the coming of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. So much could be said (I have four or five entire books on the Holy Spirit) and yet, when we finish saying everything that could be said, we will still be dealing with the great mystery of who is the Holy Spirit and the Spirit’s mysterious workings in us and in the Church. It’s a great mystery because God is too awesome and too great for us to understand.
5. Guiding Light - Inspired to be Genuine by Fr. Joe Robinson p. 99
May 5, 2011 - Feast of the Ascension
The Ascension celebrates Jesus’ glorification far above every being that could be named in this age and in the one to come (as Paul says in today’s second reading). As we profess each week, Jesus ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. It is not the end of his work. He tells his disciples in today’s gospel, “I will be with you always, until the end of time.” He showed he was with them by how the Church grew through the teaching of the apostles, through the miracles they worked and through the courage he gave them – even giving them courage to face martyrdom for their faith.
6. John 14: 3
and after I have gone
and prepared you a place,
I shall return to take you to myself,
so that you may be with me
where I am.
7. The
Apostles were afraid and went to pray and
praise God in the upper room.

Words of Jesus to Members of Shepherds of Christ Associates:
"My beloved priest-companion, I intend to use the priestly newsletter, Shepherds of Christ, and the movement, Shepherds of Christ Associates, in a powerful way for the renewal of My Church and the world.
"I will use the newsletter and the chapters of Shepherds of Christ Associates as a powerful instrument for spreading devotion to My Heart and My Mother's Heart.
"I am calling many to become members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. To all of them I will give great blessings. I will use them as instruments to help bring about the triumph of the Immaculate Heart and the reign of My Sacred Heart. I will give great graces to the members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. I will call them to be deeply united to My Heart and to Mary's Heart as I lead them ever closer to My Father in the Holy Spirit."
- Message from Jesus to Father Edward J. Carter, S.J., Founder, as given on July 31, 1994,
feast of Saint Ignatius Loyola, Founder of the Society of Jesus (The Jesuits)
9. The world belongs to Christ.
St. Paul says
"He has put all things under Christ's feet
and has made him, thus exulted, head of the church,
which is his body: the fullness of
him who fills the universe in
all its parts."
10. The Church, the world and the individual
Christian are in the state of being
more Christic. The world belongs to Jesus.
The Descent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles
1. Acts 2: 1-4
When Pentecost day came round, they had all met together, when suddenly there came from heaven a sound as of a violent wind which filled the entire house in which they were sitting; and there appeared to them tongues as of fire; these separated and came to rest on the head of each of them. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak different languages as the Spirit gave them power to express themselves.
2. The Apostles were transformed
by the Holy Spirit and accomplished
marvels through him.
3. The Holy Spirit sanctifies – helps form
us more in the image of Jesus,
helps us come alive in Him.
4. The Holy Spirit brings depth in living
life the more He dwells in us.
5. Sing: Come Holy Ghost
6. From Tell My People by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J.
Jesus: "My beloved friend, tell My people to pray daily to the Holy Spirit. They are to pray for an increase in His gifts. My people must realize that the Holy Spirit comes to transform them. The Spirit desires to transform you more and more according to My image. Those who are docile to His touch become increasingly shaped in My likeness. He performs this marvel within Mary's Immaculate Heart. The more one dwells in My Mother's Heart, the more active are the workings of the Spirit. The Spirit leads Mary to place you within My own Heart. In both Our Hearts, then, your transformation continues. The more you are formed after My own Heart, the more I lead you to the bosom of My Father. Tell My people all this. Tell them to pray daily for a greater appreciation of these wondrous gifts. I am Lord and Master. All who come to My Heart will be on fire to receive the gifts of the Spirit in ever greater measure! I love and bless My people!"
Reflection: The Holy Spirit is given to us to fashion us ever more according to the likeness of Jesus. And the more we are like Jesus, the more Jesus leads us to the Father. Do we, each day, pray to the Holy Spirit to be more open to His transforming influence? Do we strive each day to grow in union with Mary? The greater our union with our Mother, the spouse of the Holy Spirit, the greater is the transforming action of the Holy Spirit within us.
Prayer: Come, Holy Spirit, fill us with your gifts of wisdom, understanding, knowledge, counsel, fortitude, piety and fear of the Lord. As we dwell in the Heart of Mary, Your spouse, fashion us more and more according to the Heart of Jesus. end of excerpt
7. Fr. Carter says "To refuse the
Spirit is to refuse real
happiness."
8. Fr. Carter says
"Life in the Holy Spirit is human life
lived according to
God's will."
9. From the Prayer Manual
Holy Spirit Prayer
Come, Holy Spirit, almighty Sanctifier, God of love, who filled the Virgin Mary with grace, who wonderfully changed the hearts of the apostles, who endowed all Your martyrs with miraculous courage, come and sanctify us. Enlighten our minds, strengthen our wills, purify our consciences, rectify our judgment, set our hearts on fire, and preserve us from the misfortunes of resisting Your inspirations. Amen.
10. A Prayer for Intimacy with the Lamb, the Bridegroom of the Soul
Oh Lamb of God, Who take away the sins of the world, come and act on my soul most intimately. I surrender myself, as I ask for the grace to let go, to just be as I exist in You and You act most intimately on my soul. You are the Initiator. I am the soul waiting Your favors as You act in me. I love You. I adore You. I worship You. Come and possess my soul with Your Divine Grace, as I experience You most intimately.
The Assumption
1. Mary was taken body and soul into
heaven.
2. From Mother at Our Side by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J. - Fatima : Call of the Immaculate Heart
God wishes you to remain in the world for some time because He wants to use you to establish in the world the devotion to my Immaculate Heart. I promise salvation to those who embrace it, and their souls will be loved by God as flowers placed by myself to adorn His throne. (Our Lady of Fatima to Lucia.)1
3. From Mother at Our Side by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J. - Fatima : Call of the Immaculate Heart
The Immaculate Heart has drawn millions and millions of pilgrims to Fatima. To be there, especially on the 13th of the above mentioned months, is a very special experience. I was privileged to be at Fatima on October 13th, 1992, for the 75th anniversary of Mary's last apparition to the three children—the apparition attested to by the great miracle of the sun.
4. From Mother at Our Side by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J. - Fatima : Call of the Immaculate Heart
On this occasion there was the usual candlelight rosary procession on the eve of the 13th. On this crisp, cool October night there were hundreds of thousands of pilgrims in the great square in front of the Basilica. Their reverence and devotion was most obvious and most inspiring.
5. From Tell My People by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J.
Jesus: "My beloved friend, tell My people to come to My Mother. From the cross, as I was suffering indescribable agony, I gave Mary as spiritual Mother to the world. My great love for My people prompted Me to do this. I am Lord and Master, and I want My people to come to My Mother and their Mother. If you wish to be close to Me, come to Mary. Consecrate yourselves to her. In this way you will grow into the closest union with Me. Through her Immaculate Heart, you will be drawn more and more into My own Heart. It is My desire that you allow My Mother to place you within My Heart which loves you with an unfathomable love! This is My wishthat you come to Me enfolded by Mary's mantle, cradled in her arms, pressed against her Heart."
Reflection: It is God's will that we approach Jesus in union with Mary. Enough said!
Prayer: Heavenly Father, give us an increased understanding of what it means to have Mary as our spiritual Mother. Allow us to see how much it is against Your will to neglect our relationship with her. We make this petition in union with Mary, through Christ, and in the Holy Spirit.
6. From Tell My People by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J.
Mary: "My beloved priest-son, how often I have pressed you to my maternal and Immaculate Heart in the greatest love! How often I allow you to taste the sweetness of this Heart. How often I make you aware that my Heart is your refuge where you feel so much loved, where you feel so secure, where you feel bathed in peace! I desire that you tell all the people about the riches contained in my Immaculate Heart. Tell my people to come to my Heart each day. I will caress them with my maternal love. I will lead them ever closer to the Sacred Heart of my Son. I will tell them to listen to Jesus. I will remind them that He is their Lord and Master. I will remind them to do whatever He tells them to do.
"Yes, my dearly beloved son, tell my people all these things. Keep reminding them of my great love for them. Keep reminding them how I love to draw them to my maternal and Immaculate Heart!"
Reflection: Is there anyone who, listening to these words of Mary, does not long for a closer union with the loving Heart of our Mother?
Prayer: Mary, draw me each day more deeply within your Heart, so that each day you can place me more deeply within Jesus’ Heart!
7. From Tell My People by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J.
Mary: "My beloved priest-son, how often I have embraced you! How often I have told you how much I love you! How often, at your request, I have held you in my arms as my child. You have told me you realize how helpless you are of yourself, but how strong and secure you feel dwelling in my heart and Jesus' Heart. Your sense of your littleness and helplessness endears you to me all the more. I take you ever more securely to my maternal and Immaculate Heart. Tell all my people of the riches you have found within my heart. Tell them how I place you within my Son's Heart. Tell them that, because of my motherly action, you are now more closely united with Jesus than ever before. Tell my people to come to my heart and draw forth similar riches. Tell all my little ones that Jesus, Who is Lord and Master, bids me to lead all to His Sacred Heart. The more my little ones dwell within my Immaculate Heart, the more I place them within Jesus' Heart. Oh, how I love all my little ones! How I love to bring them to the Heart of Jesus!"
Reflection: Again, let us remind ourselves that we live in the Age of the Two Hearts. The Hearts of Jesus and Mary are inseparable. The more we dwell in Mary's heart, the more she places us within Jesus' Heart. Within these Two Hearts, the Holy Spirit fashions us more and more in the likeness of Christ, and the more we become like Christ, the more closely He unites us to the Father.
Prayer:
Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us! Sacred Heart of Jesus, we place our trust in You.
8. From the Priestly Newsletter January/February 1996 by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J.
Mother of Our Christ-life
Mary is the Mother of our Christ-life, this life which flows to us from the bosom of the Father, through Christ, in the Holy Spirit. Pope John Paul II beautifully links Mary’s spiritual motherhood toward us with her being Mother of Christ, Mother of the Church, and Model of the Church. “Mary is present in the Church as the Mother of Christ, and at the same time as the Mother whom Christ, in the mystery of the Redemption, gave to humanity in the person of the Apostle John. Thus, in her new motherhood in the Spirit, Mary embraces each and every one in the Church, and embraces each and every one through the Church. In this sense, Mary, Mother of the Church, is also the Church’s model. Indeed, as Paul VI hopes and asks: the Church must draw ‘from the Virgin Mother of God the most authentic form of perfect imitation of Christ.’”9
9. Pope John Paul II, The Mother of the Redeemer, United States Catholic Conference, No. 38.
9. Excerpt from The Spirituality of Fatima by Fr. Carter
...Tell everybody that God gives graces through the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Tell them to ask grace from her, and that the Heart of Jesus wishes to be venerated together with the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Ask them to plead for peace from the Immaculate Heart of Mary, for the Lord has confided the peace of the world to her. (19)
19. For background material on Fatima, I am particularly indebted to Our Lady of Fatima’s Peace Plan from Heaven (Rockford: TAN Books and Publishers, Inc., 1983). p.9.
10. If we go to Mary's Heart, she
will take us to Jesus' Heart.
The Queenship of Mary
1. Sing: Immaculate Mary
2. Sing: Hail Holy Queen
3. From December 24, 1994
Mary: Your union with My Son and the Father and the Holy Spirit will deepen as your understanding of the union between myself and Jesus grows. From this day forward you will be closely united to me, your mother, and closely united to Jesus through the rosary. I want you to lead the rosary always. Always dim the lights and use candles. I will be there and Jesus will be there whenever you pray the rosary. We will be with you in a very special way. Your job is to promote the rosary. When you pray the rosary, tell them about my letters to them, centered around my Son in the Eucharist.
4. From July 13, 1995 Rosary - The Finding in the Temple
8. Mary: I am Mary, your Mother. I speak to you. This is an urgent request. Let go and come to the Heart of my Son. He will fill you with such love and you will go into this world. You will spread this love. Pray to the Father. Come to my Heart and dwell in my Heart. For I dwell in the Heart of my Son, and I will place you in the deepest recesses of His Heart. Pray to the Holy Spirit. My dear ones, when you are filled with the love of God, when you come from a place where your hearts are filled with love, you will give love to all in this world. When your hearts are sorrowing and in pain, come to the Almighty God. Spend quiet moments with Him, and let Him fill you with His love. My Son Jesus is waiting and waiting, minute by minute, second by second, for you to come. Come, my little children, to the Heart of my Son.

Guiding Light homily series — Reflect on the Word — Cycle B The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand. $10 |
Guiding Light homily series — Steadfast to the Son — Cycle A The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $10 |
Guiding Light — Focusing on the Word — Cycle B At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $10 |
Guiding Light — Feed My Soul — Cycle C In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $10 |
