February 20th Holy Spirit Novena
Scripture selection is
Day 8 Period I.

The Novena Rosary Mysteries
for February 20th are Glorious.

Pray for special intentions.

Prayer for Grace for our Country

Dear Father united to Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Sacrifice of Calvary sacramentally made present, celebrated around the world, in the Holy Spirit. We offer up all we do united to the Mass. We unite in one mind and one heart as members of the mystical body of Christ, with Christ our head in the pure and holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary, through the powerful intercession of Mary with all the angels and saints and souls in purgatory, and we beg for the saving grace, for our country, the United States. Please help us. We further pray for unity to always do the will of God in love. We spread the Blood of Jesus on the leaders and people of the United States and cast the devil into hell. We consecrate our country to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and all our dioceses, and beg for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God help us. We pray for our families, the priests, the Church and the world. In the Name of Jesus please hear us, we pray. We pray for our president and leaders. We pray that we are united as one nation under God to work together in love as God wants.

R. When have you missed the
opportunity to love Jesus, because
you won’t forgive or love others?

What you do to others when you
mistreat others You did to Jesus at the
pillar.

Love is forgiveness, moving on -

Mary moved on.

The Presentation, the flight into
Egypt, the birth of Jesus in a stable,
losing Jesus for 3 days, Mary seeing
Jesus carrying His cross, Jesus’
crucifixion, Mary holding Jesus' body,
the burial of Jesus.

Mary never stopped on a pity-pot,
Mary moved on, a handmaid, a servant
of God,

Mary did God's will in love.

Think of Mary’s pain, think of a mom
and dad that lose their son at 7 when a
car hits him while he runs after his ball.

God created us for a Plan, to move on,
to move out.

God is beyond, wiser than us.

God calls us to love and trust, when we
don’t love others and forgive, we miss
the opportunity God gives us to love,
to go out of ourselves and be as Jesus
wants to operate in us.

We are accountable and responsible
for our actions.
We are commanded to love. Love takes
sacrifice.

Our soul was meant for eternal life.
We are meant to unite our sufferings to
Christ and rise to greater life in Him.

We cannot face the truth about
ourselves denying our sins, and
walking in darkness.

Freedom is in facing the truth.

The pascal mystery Death/
Resurrection -
When we die to our selfishness, we
rise in Him, we grow in greater life in
Him.

Life is in loving, in forgiving, in love.

A person that is bitter deprives himself
of living.

If a mom loses a child and never gets
over it, they get more and more empty
and dark inside.

What about a mom that leaves a 5
year old. Like my mom.

She left Fr. Joe (5) children in all.

Bitterness eats the life away if you
don’t deal with it.

Bitterness can become a person's
excuse for hurting others, but they are
doing it to Jesus.

Jesus paid the price for abuse
on the cross. We can identify our
sufferings with Jesus who paid the
price. He is in this suffering, intimately
united to us. He understands our deepest
suffering, He endured the suffering.
This intimacy with Christ brings us
to greater life in Him. The Pascal
Mystery   Death / Resurrection.
Jesus showed us that suffering leads
to greater life.

You don’t find the answer in suffering
in a bottle, or in abusing others, and
bitterness doesn’t go away when you
just keep feeling sorry for yourself and
hurting Jesus. (This does not mean that
a person does not need proper grieving
for some things.)

God gives us life, children need their
parents, but those parents sometimes
die, children can die, people abuse
others, but Mary kept moving on
serving God, in deepest, purist love.

God is good All the times.

Others that are hurt and punish others
and never admit it do it to Jesus, and
Jesus spread His arms to pay for our
sins.

Jesus gives us life, every day of our
life. Jesus walks
with us on this journey. We touch other
people's lives how we forgive and love.

We, Baptized ones, in the Church, are
the body of Christ.

Mary walks by our side, like she walked
by the side of Jesus. God wants us
to open our hearts. We were created
by the Father, when people lose their
way, God sends people many times to
show us the way back, but we can
reject help to turn back to Jesus.

Jesus sweat blood in the Garden
because of all the hard-hearts that
would refuse Him, no matter what He
did for them.

Then there are the 2 thieves, one on
either side of Jesus, one was sorry,
the other was bitter and angry and
rejected Jesus to the bitter end - the
bad thief rejected Jesus.

Sorrowful Mysteries in Thanksgiving

                The Agony in the Garden

                1. Jesus turned the other cheek,
                    when He allowed Himself
                    to be whipped for their
                    sins.

                2. In His Divine knowing, He
                    knew all the sins that
                    men committed and He
                    was willing to be whipped,
                    crowned with thorns and
                    crucified for men who
                    did this to others and
                    never admitted that
                    what they did to others,
                    they did to Jesus.

                3. Jesus saw all these sins and
                    the lies men would tell
                    themselves about not
                    sinning – DENIAL

                4. Jesus paid the price.
                    What we do to others
                    we do to Jesus.

                5. Some punish others
                    when they have problems,
                    instead of facing the
                    problem, they project
                    on others and then
                    act it out on them.

                6. Jesus suffered for those who
                    refuse to suffer and
                    punish others.
                    Jesus said to refuse to
                        suffer is to refuse
                        to love.

                7. Jesus shows us suffering.
                    We were created in
                    His image and likeness –
                    the Pascal Mystery is
                    Death / Resurrection.

                8. Jesus suffered so much in
                    the Garden seeing the
                    men that would reject Him
                    He sweat Blood on
                    the ground.

                9. Jesus did the will of the
                    heavenly Father. Jesus
                    loves us so much –
                    He said yes to this.

                10. What we do to others,
                    we do to Jesus. Jesus
                    wore the wounds, Jesus
                    was the one who took
                    on the ugly things men
                    do to other men.

                The Scourging at the Pillar

                1. Jesus was whipped raw,
for how men can do to
                    innocent others to
                    work out their pain
                    and problems.

                2. What we do to others, we do
                    to Jesus.

                3. A person must work through
                    problems and this takes
                    suffering. Some men
                    refuse to ever look at
                    their past and project
                    their hatred on others
                    and blame innocent
                    others.

                4. Problems need to be addressed
                    and dealt with.

\                5. Remember the old story
a man has a bad day,
                    he mistreats his wife,
                    she mistreats the kids,
                    the kid kicks the dog.

                6. Jesus is meek and kind in
                    heart. He wore our sins
                    as stripes on His
                    back. He was whipped
                    raw.

                7. First to thine own self
                    be true. How can
                    a person grow when
                    they blame others
                    for their sins?

                8. God is love. In dysfunctional
                    families, people live their
                    lives, many times, putting
                    others in their roles –
                    hero role, whipping boy
                    role, scape-goat role.
                    Jesus paid for the ones
                    unjustly treated for
                    things they didn't do.
                    Jesus paid for those who
                    made others suffer
                    because of their anger
                    and punishment.

                9. What we did to others,
                    we did to Jesus.

                10. God is love – God commands
us to love God and our brother.

                The Crowning with Thorns

                1. The devil wants to rule.
                    The devil wants to make
                    right look wrong and
                    wrong look right.

                2. The devil wants to hurt
                    the righteous man.
                    The devil hates God.

                3. Look what they did to
                    Jesus. Jesus, the Son of
                    God, was whipped,
                    crowned with thorns,
                    crucified.

                4. Look how Jesus wore the
                    stripes from our sins.

                5. Some people refuse to show
                    love. God is love.

                6. The devil tempts men to
                    blame innocent others
                    for the sins they
                    commit.

                7. Jesus' head was beaten and
                    crowned with thorns
                    for the sins of men.

                8. Sing: A Song from Jesus

                9. Jesus suffered to pay for
                    our sins.

                10. The Church was built
                    up by the Blood of
                    the saints.

                The Carrying of the Cross

                1. Jesus carried the heavy
                    cross laden with the
                    sins of the world.

                2. Jesus did nothing, He
                    did nothing!

                3. Jesus carried the cross
                    and it was so heavy
                    He fell to the ground
                    3 times –
                    He could hardly get up.

                4. Jesus was covered with
                    blood and wounds
                    and crowned with
                    thorns –
                    He carried our sins,
                    He fell under the
                    cross.

                5. Jesus, we are sorry for
                    hurting others.

                6. Thank You Jesus for
                    Your love given
                    for us.

                7.  Jesus: I carried the cross, My
legs felt as if they would
                    break, My shoulders
                    were breaking, My
                    body was bleeding and
                    bleeding and the men
                    poked and hit Me.

                8.  Jesus: I love you so much. Spread
My love, sin is shown in
                    the ugliness of men.

                9.  Jesus: I loved you so much, I
                    want you to be with
                    Me in heaven, some men
                    won't even admit they
                    sin. They live in prideful
                    lives.

                10. Jesus: Life is very short. I
                    came and taught you
                    My ways. You can follow
                    Me or rebel against
                    God, you have a free
                    will.
                    Blaming others for your
                    sins, made My
                    suffering ever harder.

                The Crucifixion

                1.  Jesus: Some men never admit
                    they have wounds that
                    need healing and keep
                    projecting their sins
                    on other innocent
                    others.

                2.  Jesus: I hung on the cross 3 agonizing
                    hours to My death. My
love is so great for souls.

                3.  Jesus: Some have made themselves
                    a god. They do everything
                    for their egos. I paid
and suffered for all the sin.

                4.  Jesus: I am the way, the truth and
                    the life.

                5. Revelation 3:1-3,12,16-19

'Write to the angel of the church in Sardis and say, "Here is the message of the one who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars: I know about your behaviour: how you are reputed to be alive and yet are dead. Wake up; put some resolve into what little vigour you have left: it is dying fast. So far I have failed to notice anything in your behaviour that my God could possibly call perfect; remember how you first heard the message. Hold on to that. Repent! If you do not wake up, I shall come to you like a thief, and you will have no idea at what hour I shall come upon you.

Anyone who proves victorious I will make into a pillar in the sanctuary of my God, and it will stay there for ever; I will inscribe on it the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem which is coming down from my God in heaven, and my own new name as well.

'...but since you are neither hot nor cold, but only lukewarm, I will spit you out of my mouth. You say to yourself: I am rich, I have made a fortune and have everything I want, never realising that you are wretchedly and pitiably poor, and blind and naked too. I warn you, buy from me the gold that has been tested in the fire to make you truly rich, and white robes to clothe you and hide your shameful nakedness, and ointment to put on your eyes to enable you to see. I reprove and train those whom I love: so repent in real earnest.'

                6.  Jesus: Heaven is a place of
                    love and complete
                        purity. You are to
                        seek to be purified
                        on earth.

                7.  Jesus: Life is short. You will
                        die and be judged
                        on how you loved and
                        obeyed My Commandments.

                8.  Jesus: You know this.

                9.  Jesus: I am the King of heaven and
                    earth.

                10.  Jesus: I died for you – I died
                    for your sins, some won't
                    even admit they sin.

Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Litugical Year (2011/2012)
$ 10.00

Guiding Light homily series — Reflect on the Word — Cycle B     The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand. $10

Guiding Light - Steadfast to the Son
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle A of the Litugical Year
$ 10.00

Guiding Light homily series — Steadfast to the Son — Cycle A    The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $10

Guiding Light - Focusing on the Word
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Litugical Year
$ 10.00

Guiding Light — Focusing on the Word — Cycle B    At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $10

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle C of the Litugical Year
$ 10.00

Guiding Light — Feed My Soul — Cycle C    In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $10
