Today's Readings
Malachi 3: 1-4
‘Look, I shall send my messenger to clear a way before me. And suddenly the Lord whom you seek will come to his Temple; yes, the angel of the covenant, for whom you long, is on his way, says Yahweh Sabaoth. Who will be able to resist the day of his coming? Who will remain standing when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire, like fullers’ alkali. He will take his seat as refiner and purifier; he will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, so that they can make the offering to Yahweh with uprightness. The offering of Judah and Jerusalem will then be acceptable to Yahweh as in former days, as in the years of old.
Hebrews 2: 14-18
Since all the children share the same human nature, he too shared equally in it, so that by his death he could set aside him who held the power of death, namely the devil, and set free all those who had been held in slavery all their lives by the fear of death. For it was not the angels that he took to himself; he took to himself the line of Abraham. It was essential that he should in this way be made completely like his brothers so that he could become a compassionate and trustworthy high priest for their relationship to God, able to expiate the sins of the people. For the suffering he himself passed through while being put to the test enables him to help others when they are being put to the test.
Luke 2: 22-40
And when the day came for them to be purified in keeping with the Law of Moses, they took him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord—observing what is written in the Law of the Lord: Every first–born male must be consecrated to the Lord—and also to offer in sacrifice, in accordance with what is prescribed in the Law of the Lord, a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons. Now in Jerusalem there was a man named Simeon. He was an upright and devout man; he looked forward to the restoration of Israel and the Holy Spirit rested on him. It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death until he had set eyes on the Christ of the Lord. Prompted by the Spirit he came to the Temple; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the Law required, he took him into his arms and blessed God; and he said:
Now, Master, you are letting
your servant go in peace
as you promised;
for my eyes have seen the salvation
which you have made ready
in the sight of the nations;
a light of revelation for the gentiles
and glory for your people Israel. As the child’s father and mother were wondering at the things that were being said about him, Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, ‘Look, he is destined for the fall and for the rise of many in Israel, destined to be a sign that is opposed—and a sword will pierce your soul too—so that the secret thoughts of many may be laid bare.’
There was a prophetess, too, Anna the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was well on in years. Her days of girlhood over, she had been married for seven years before becoming a widow. She was now eighty–four years old and never left the Temple, serving God night and day with fasting and prayer. She came up just at that moment and began to praise God; and she spoke of the child to all who looked forward to the deliverance of Jerusalem.
When they had done everything the Law of the Lord required, they went back to Galilee, to their own town of Nazareth. And as the child grew to maturity, he was filled with wisdom; and God's favour was with him.
R. When I am weary – You are always with me.
When I am so happy, I know You by my side –
I know You are with me now, Lord, help me
today to serve You and to be an instrument
of Love. Dear God, thank You for the gifts
of love – You have given to me in my life –
Do I desire all You have given to me in
Your gifts in my life?
I love You, God; I love You God; I love
You, God!!
When the lights do not work we are sorry
for we need the lights to see, so we try to
get things working again.
When things are not working in something
God has called us to do, why would we do
nothing even though it may have been a
struggle, we keep working at it and keep
our nose to the plow –
A child needs their parents and they want
them to help them when they are sick so
a parent should be attentive and be there to
help a sick child.
When we are in need of growing out of
a bad habit, why would God not be there
to help us, if we call to Him.
There was a writing about footprints
and how when there was only one set of
footprints in our life during the hardest
times of our life and it is made known
it was then that God carried us.
I see now how so much is unknown
to me in trying to do God's work and
I think about the messages on the Holy Spirit and
how He helps us in the unknown times, but so
very much is unknown and I see the more
I realize how God is working behind the
scenes in my life in so many ways, it helps me
let go and get out of His way – in trying
to accomplish His work in me.
Even in the unforeseen difficulties I see
that those difficulties may have been
necessary for needed change – because
if there is opposition working in one
man against us, they can throw so many
ugly, big bananas on the path and
God is still bigger than the one trying
to trip up God's plan – He is God –
He doesn't have to clean up men's old
bananas, He gives us all our lives,
our breath, but communication and
union is the way God works with us.
So in learning to love and communicate
and give God what He wants – He is there
fighting with us. No man can really ever
win fighting God and His plan for us. We should
have learned that lesson from the Bible,
from Adam and Eve, to Joseph's brothers,
to David, to Jonah, to all the Bible
characters, even Nebakanezzier, who
was so awful to the disobedient King
who persecuted Jeremiah.
We see all through salvation history
the message – God has a plan, men
rebel, many men go away from God's
plan, God allows them to suffer and they
are brought to their knees because
all that makes things get better is turning
to God and obeying Him – Then there is
the rebuilding after things are torn down.
Why not just obey God, when He calls
us. Why not recognize God sends messengers
like Our Lady of Clearwater and the messages
of Blue Book 14, Blue Book 15, Blue Book 16
(which is 6 months after she appeared
on the building and she continued to appear
during all these books for another 7 years),
Blue Book 17, Blue Book 18, Blue Book 19 –
Yes during these early years of Mary's
apparitions and the Daily Messages 1998 - 2004
Mary appeared on the building in Clearwater
telling Fr. Carter and myself the Father's message
for peace in the world.
Readings from Sunday
4th Sunday in Ordinary Times
Jeremiah 1: 4-5, 17-19
The word of Yahweh came to me, saying:
‘Before I formed you in the womb
I knew you;
before you came to birth
I consecrated you;
I appointed you as prophet to the nations.’
The word of Yahweh came to me, saying:
‘As for you, prepare yourself for action.
Stand up and tell them
all I command you.
Have no fear of them
and in their presence
I will make you fearless.
For look, today I have made you
into a fortified city,
a pillar of iron,
a wall of bronze
to stand against the whole country:
the kings of Judah, its princes,
its priests and the people of the country.
They will fight against you
but will not overcome you,
for I am with you,
Yahweh declares,
to rescue you.’
1 Corinthians 12: 31—13: 1-13
Set your mind on the higher gifts. And now I am going to put before you the best way of all.
Though I command languages both human and angelic—if I speak without love, I am no more than a gong booming or a cymbal clashing. And though I have the power of prophecy, to penetrate all mysteries and knowledge, and though I have all the faith necessary to move mountains—if I am without love, I am nothing. Though I should give away to the poor all that I possess, and even give up my body to be burned—if I am without love, it will do me no good whatever.
Love is always patient and kind; love is never jealous; love is not boastful or conceited, it is never rude and never seeks its own advantage, it does not take offence or store up grievances. Love does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but finds its joy in the truth. It is always ready to make allowances, to trust, to hope and to endure whatever comes.
Love never comes to an end. But if there are prophecies, they will be done away with; if tongues, they will fall silent; and if knowledge, it will be done away with. For we know only imperfectly, and we prophesy imperfectly; but once perfection comes, all imperfect things will be done away with. When I was a child, I used to talk like a child, and see things as a child does, and think like a child; but now that I have become an adult, I have finished with all childish ways. Now we see only reflections in a mirror, mere riddles, but then we shall be seeing face to face. Now I can know only imperfectly; but then I shall know just as fully as I am myself known.
As it is, these remain: faith, hope and love, the three of them; and the greatest of them is love
Luke 4: 21-30
Then he began to speak to them, ‘This text is being fulfilled today even while you are listening.’ And he won the approval of all, and they were astonished by the gracious words that came from his lips.
They said, ‘This is Joseph’s son, surely?’ But he replied, ‘No doubt you will quote me the saying, “Physician, heal yourself,” and tell me, “We have heard all that happened in Capernaum, do the same here in your own country.” ’ And he went on, ‘In truth I tell you, no prophet is ever accepted in his own country.
There were many widows in Israel, I can assure you, in Elijah’s day, when heaven remained shut for three years and six months and a great famine raged throughout the land, but Elijah was not sent to any one of these: he was sent to a widow at Zarephath, a town in Sidonia. And in the prophet Elisha’s time there were many suffering from virulent skin-diseases in Israel, but none of these was cured—only Naaman the Syrian.’
When they heard this everyone in the synagogue was enraged. They sprang to their feet and hustled him out of the town; and they took him up to the brow of the hill their town was built on, intending to throw him off the cliff, but he passed straight through the crowd and walked away.
R.
Fr. Joe gave a very beautiful homily on Sunday.
I want to get it.
He said in the homily book we can't
take Jesus on our terms – but we must take
Jesus on His terms. We can't expect God
to be who we want Him to be.
Fr. Joe says Jesus was not a politician
who wanted to cater to what people wanted,
He was a prophet who would be faithful
to the mission God sent Him on, no matter
what the consequences were.
At first men may have liked the miracles
of Jesus, but then they wanted to run
Him out of town and kill Him. They
could have seen Jesus as - Just the
Carpenter's Son and Jesus should cater
to them – when they saw Jesus faithful
to His mission of reaching out to the
whole world – some became very jealous
because they wanted Jesus just to cater
to them, they wanted Jesus' attention for
themselves and they wanted Jesus
to satisfy their personal desires for
themselves. So when Jesus did God's
will – they were infuriated He wasn't
serving them personally and forgetting His
mission – so much so, they disliked Jesus
they put Him to death.
Isn't it the way we see with the
prophets – they come, they deliver the
message God wants delivered and then
people can use the message or try to
promote what they want or think
the prophet should serve them personally.
Our Lady appeared in Clearwater, the Lady
of Peace to the world. When her image head
was destroyed by a sling shot it was
offensive to God – Taking this message
and not listening to it is foolish. I
see so many warnings in the messages of
God's Blue Book 16 and what Jesus is asking
us to do and we ignored the message and
20 years later I see the consequences
in the world after such a sign and
message was given.
Like Fatima, the message does not go
away, when God sends such a sign
and message –
We just can fight God and ignore
what He says and we suffer and
suffer and suffer.
R.
Blue Book 16 has a big message for us
and it was fresh 6 months after
Our Lady appeared at Clearwater and I see
the consequences of ignoring the message,
but the message wasn't for 20 years
and God says – oh they won't obey
so throw the message out – The mission
God has given the Shepherds of Christ is
still the mission. It has taken me 19 years
be to able to even get these messages God gave
to me and Fr. Carter, July, August, September 1997,
together in book form. I ask you to pray
for this and pray to spread the message
and grace for those reading it.
Blue Book 14 and 15 were so powerful – this is
our mission in the Shepherds of Christ – not to
close down the message and expect personal
attention from God for our ways, but
to do His ways – to spread his plan.
My granddaughter said she wanted
Star Wars for her birthday party. She
said kids would have to choose what
side they wanted to be on.
Isn't that the story of our life –
Salvation Wars – whose side are we
on –
Do we want God's message for the
mission of helping the world – all men –
Or are we selfish bringing down
darkness against good men doing God's
work for attention, drama and power
and comfort and control for our own
vain glory.
Are we missing telling our children
about the real battle that started in
the Garden of Eden – the battle of
the willfulness of creatures against
their Divine Creator who is love and
so good to us.
Holy Spirit enlighten the hearts of the
faithful to see God's will and to do it.
Come to me Lord and possess my soul –
Come into my heart and permeate
my soul.
Help me God to do Your will.
Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Holy Spirit Novena
Daily Novena Prayers
Opening Prayer
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Dear Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus, in union with Him in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, in the Holy Spirit. We come to You united to the Child Jesus of Good Health and the Infant of Prague. We come to You in the perfect, sinless heart of Our Mother Mary, asking her powerful intercession, uniting ourselves to her holy tears. We come to You united to all the angels and saints, and the souls in purgatory.
Prayer for Holy Spirit
We pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit on us, to be baptized by the Holy Spirit, that He will descend mightily on us as He did on the Apostles at Pentecost. That the Holy Spirit will transform us from fear to fearlessness and that He will give us courage to do all the Father is asking of us to help bring about the Reign of the Sacred Heart and the triumph of Mary's Immaculate Heart. We pray for the Holy Spirit to descend mightily on the Jesuits and the Poor Clares on the Shepherds of Christ leaders and members and on the whole Body of Christ and the world.
Protection by the Blood of Jesus
We pray that the Blood of Jesus will be spread on us, everyone in our families, and the Shepherds of Christ Movement, that we will be able to move steadfastly ahead and be protected from the evil one.
Healing
We pray for healing in body, mind, and soul and generational healing in ourselves, in all members in our families, and in all members of the Shepherds of Christ Movement, the Jesuit Community, the Poor Clares, the Body of Christ, and the world.
Prayer for Strength and Light
We adore You, oh Holy Spirit. Give us strength, give us light, console us. We give ourselves entirely to You. Oh Spirit of light and grace, we want to only do the will of the Father. Enlighten us that we may live always in the Father's will.
Eternal Spirit fill us with Your Divine Wisdom that we may comprehend more fully insight into Your Divine Mysteries.
Give us lights, Oh Holy Spirit that we may know God. Work within the heart, the spiritual womb of the Virgin Mary, to form us more and more into the image of Jesus.
Prayer to Be One with God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit
We long for You, Oh Spirit of Light, we long to know God, we want to be one with Him, our Divine God. We want to be one with the Father, know Him as a Person most intimately. We want to know the beloved One, the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and live and dwell in Him at all times, every moment of our lives. We want to be one with You, Oh Spirit of Light, that You move in us in our every breath.
Prayer to Be One in Jesus
Let us experience life in the Sacred Heart of Jesus, so we can say as Saint Paul, "I have been crucified with Christ and yet I am alive; yet it is no longer I, but Christ living in me...." Let us live, united to the Mass, all through the day being one in Him. Let us be able to love and know in this elevated state of oneness with our God. We long for Thee, oh beauteous God, we love You, we love You, we love You. We praise You, worship You, honor You, adore You, and thank You, our beloved God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Prayer to Dwell in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary
We seek to be one in God, to live and dwell in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, our little heaven on earth, to experience life in the all perfect, pure, sinless heart of our Mother. We want the Holy Spirit to move in us and to be united to Jesus as the Bridegroom of our souls and be a most perfect sacrifice offered to the Father at every moment as we unite in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass around the world to help in the salvation of souls.
Prayer for the Holy Spirit and His Gifts
Come Holy Spirit, come, come into our hearts, inflame all people with the fire of Your love.
Leader: Send forth Your Spirit and all will be reborn.
All: And You will renew the face of the earth. We pray for the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, we ask for perfection in our souls to make us holy, holy souls likened to God.
Dear Holy Spirit, we give ourselves to You soul and body. We ask You to give us the Spirit of Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety, and Fear of the Lord.
Prayer for the Word Alive in Our Hearts
We know, dear Holy Spirit, the Word in His human nature was brought forth within the womb of the woman. We pray that His word will be brought forth in our hearts as He lives and dwells in us. We want the incarnation to go on in our lives. Dear Holy Spirit, work in us.
Little Prayers to the Holy Spirit
Dear Holy Spirit, help us not to be ignorant or indifferent or weak, help us to be strong with the love of God.
Dear Holy Spirit, please pray for our needs for us.
Dear Holy Spirit, help us to respect God and to avoid sin. Help us to live in the Father's will.
Dear Holy Spirit, help us to keep Your commandments and to respect authority. Help us to love all things as You will us to love them. Help us to want to pray and always serve God with the greatest love. Help us to know the truth. Help us to have the gift of faith, hope, and love. Help us to know what is right and what is wrong.
A Prayer for Intimacy with the Lamb, the Bridegroom of the Soul
Oh Lamb of God, Who take away the sins of the world, come and act on my soul most intimately. I surrender myself, as I ask for the grace to let go, to just be as I exist in You and You act most intimately on my soul. You are the Initiator. I am the soul waiting Your favors as You act in me. I love You. I adore You. I worship You. Come and possess my soul with Your Divine Grace, as I experience You most intimately.
