Prayer for Grace for our Country

Dear Father united to Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Sacrifice of Calvary sacramentally made present, celebrated around the world, in the Holy Spirit. We offer up all we do united to the Mass. We unite in one mind and one heart as members of the mystical body of Christ, with Christ our head in the pure and holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary, through the powerful intercession of Mary with all the angels and saints and souls in purgatory, and we beg for the saving grace, for our country, the United States. Please help us. We further pray for unity to always do the will of God in love. We spread the Blood of Jesus on the leaders and people of the United States and cast the devil into hell. We consecrate our country to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and all our dioceses, and beg for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God help us. We pray for our families, the priests, the Church and the world. In the Name of Jesus please hear us, we pray. We pray for our president and leaders. We pray that we are united as one nation under God to work together in love as God wants.

A Prayer for Intimacy with the Lamb, the Bridegroom of the Soul

Oh Lamb of God, Who take away the sins of the world, come and act on my soul most intimately. I surrender myself, as I ask for the grace to let go, to just be as I exist in You and You act most intimately on my soul. You are the Initiator. I am the soul waiting Your favors as You act in me. I love You. I adore You. I worship You. Come and possess my soul with Your Divine Grace, as I experience You most intimately.

                R. A joke Fr. Joe told was this:

From Fr. Joe's Homily Book March 13, 2011 Cycle A

A woman was shopping for a new dress and found the most stunning creation she had ever seen. But it was expensive: $750. She knew she couldn’t afford it, but she had to at least see how she looked in it. So she tried it on and it made her look beautiful. She knew someone else would see it and buy it before she could ever save up for it and she knew she just had to have it. So she bought it. That evening as she showed her husband how beautiful it was and how beautiful she looked with it on, he asked the inevitable question: “how much did it cost?” When she told him he had a fit. She explained the temptation was more than she could resist. He told her when she is tempted she needs to tell the devil: “get behind me, Satan.” She pleaded “that’s what I did, and the devil told me it looks fantastic from the back too.”

Matthew 16: 21-23

From then onwards Jesus began to make it clear to his disciples that he was destined to go to Jerusalem and suffer grievously at the hands of the elders and chief priests and scribes and to be put to death and to be raised up on the third day. Then, taking him aside, Peter started to rebuke him. ‘Heaven preserve you, Lord,’ he said, ‘this must not happen to you.’ But he turned and said to Peter, ‘Get behind me, Satan! You are an obstacle in my path, because you are thinking not as God thinks but as human beings do.’

                R. When a person experiences some
                    form of possession where
satan is working in them –
                    controlling them

                Their physical features change –
                    the eyes, the hollowness,
loss of control – even of
                    body.

                    Demonic means –
                        tear apart –

The devil does not want relationships
                    where people are working in
unity to give love and serve
                    God.

The devil wants to break-up families –
                    tear apart religious communities
                    with division – cruelty –
                    fighting or manipulating for
power to put satan the one
calling the shots in authority –
He wants to make the rules
                    for his agenda –

                Things can be harmonious, calm
                    and the devil disrupts
                    things in chaos, confusion,
                    lack of communication,
                    competition.

The devil wants to work in
                    corporations, families,
                    religious communities –

He sows discord as he tempts
people to act in pride, jealousy,
                    envy, anger, etc.

The devil has hatred for the cross
                    of Jesus –

The devil wants people to seek
power - over just authority –

The devil wants people to give
                    into sex, food, drink,
                    drugs, anger, excitement,
                    games.

Jesus showed us suffering on the
cross – if one wants to
                    try to never suffer, they
                    have not seen the lives
                    of Jesus and Mary.

                Mary suffered.

                R. 1) Presentation –

                        Mary went with her beautiful
                        baby to the temple and
                        Simeon told her of the
                        sufferings to come –
                        A sword too, will pierce
                        your heart, Oh Mary –

Sing: Little Baby Hands and Feet

                    2) Flight into Egypt

                        Mary and Joseph had to
                            flee with Jesus.

                    3) Loss of the Child Jesus in the Temple

                        They could not find Jesus,
                            age 12 for 3 days.

                    4) Jesus and Mary looked into each others
face, as Jesus carried the cross,
                            suffering.

                    5) Mary saw her Son die.

                        Mary stood under the cross.

                    6) They gave Mary Jesus' body
                            under the cross –

                    7) Jesus was locked in the tomb.

                Mary suffered –

Satan tells people they should not
                    suffer, or have discomfort –

                Satan wants people to be
                    permissive, just do what
                    you want!

♦ Satan wants to catch people off-guard
                    Sneaky –
                    Getting a surprise going for
                        just man and get a
                        rise out of him –

Satan says you do not need
                        any cross; anti-cross.

♦ Satan wants people to squirm
                    under those he uses
                    for his agenda –
                    make the innocent man
                    squirm.

♦ Satan wants to run things
                    through willing others
                    to implement his evil agenda.

                Satan says
                    "Do what you want" –

Satan says – "Don't deny yourself!"
                        He doesn't want
                            discipline,
                            self-control for
                            serving God –

                Satan hates the cross

                Satan works undercover – in
                    secrets –
                    passive - aggressive behavior.

Satan is the Father of lies –

God gives us His law and precepts,
He gives us the commandments –
                    Satan comes to wage battle
                    and try to win with
                    the righteous man.

St. Ignatius tells us in the Spiritual Exercises
                    about the 2 Camps.

Excerpt of The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, by Louis J. Puhl, S.J. P.60-61

136. THE FOURTH DAY

        A MEDITATION ON TWO STANDARDS

The one of Christ, our supreme leader and lord,
the other of Lucifer, the deadly enemy of our
human nature

PRAYER.   The usual preparatory prayer.

window at a former Jesuit Seminary

137. FIRST PRELUDE.   This is the history. Here it will be that Christ calls and wants all beneath His standard, and Lucifer, on the other hand, wants all under his.

138. SECOND PRELUDE.   This is a mental representation of the place. It will be here to see a great plain, comprising the whole region about Jerusalem, where the sovereign Commander-in-Chief of all the good is Christ our Lord; and another plain about the region of Babylon, where the chief of the enemy is Lucifer.

139. THIRD PRELUDE.   This is to ask for what I desire. Here it will be to ask for a knowledge of the deceits of the rebel chief and help to guard myself against them; and also to ask for a knowledge of the true life exemplified in the sovereign and true Commander, and the grace to imitate Him.

FIRST PART

THE STANDARD OF SATAN

140. FIRST POINT.   Imagine you see the chief of all the enemy in the vast plain about Babylon, seated on a great throne of fire and smoke, his appearance inspiring horror and terror.

141. SECOND POINT.   Consider how he summons innumerable demons, and scatters them, some to one city and some to another, throughout the whole world, so that no province, no place, no state of life, no individual is overlooked.

142. THIRD POINT.   Consider the address he makes to them, how he goads them on to lay snares for men and bind them with chains. First they are to tempt them to covet riches (as Satan himself is accustomed to do in most cases) that they may the more easily attain the empty honors of this world, and then come to overweening pride.

The first step, then, will be riches, the second honor, the third pride. From these three steps the evil one leads to all other vices.

SECOND PART

THE STANDARD OF CHRIST

143.   In a similar way, we are to picture to ourselves the sovereign and true Commander, Christ our Lord.

144. FIRST POINT.   Consider Christ our Lord, standing in a lowly place in a great plain about the region of Jerusalem, His appearance beautiful and attractive.

145. SECOND POINT.   Consider how the Lord of all the world chooses so many persons, apostles, disciples, etc., and sends them throughout the whole world to spread His sacred doctrine among all men, no matter what their state or condition.

146. THIRD POINT.   . . .    end of excerpt

                R. Justice is giving God and others their
                    due –
                    God is Divinely Just.

Song: I Am a God of Justice

                R. Satan wants destruction –
                    Tearing apart!
                    Tearing apart what is
                        serving and loving God.

Jesus doesn't want us to sin –
                    sin offends God –
                    God loves us – God
wants us to be more and
                    more as the Father,
                    intends –

God wants us obedient to Him –
                    humble in our lives –

Satan tempts the person to sin –
                    He says "you got time"
                    "Things have changed – that
                        isn't a sin anymore –
                        go ahead – do it"
                    "Be free"
                    "Do what you want"

                Satan is an accuser –
after a person sins, satan says
                    "you are bad –
                    you are ruined –
you can never come back etc."

                    Stay mad –
                    Hold out –
                    Be nasty –
                    Blame others –

                The devil wants people to
                    not love themselves
                    and not seek God's
                    forgiveness!

                The Pascal Mystery is
                    Death / Resurrection.

                    Christ came to bring
                        us "new life"

God created us to be with Him
                    eternally in heaven –

God wants us to love Him,
                    others, ourselves and
                    seek forgiveness and
                    mercy from Him when
                    we sin.

We have a choice to follow
                    Jesus or
                    do what satan tries
                    to get us to do.

                Jesus shows us His Heart
                    consumed with love for us.

                Jesus wants devotion to His
                    Sacred Heart and Mary's
                    Immaculate Heart.

                Fr. Carter received this message.

July 31, 1994

Words of Jesus to Members of Shepherds of Christ Associates:

"My beloved priest-companion, I intend to use the priestly newsletter, Shepherds of Christ, and the movement, Shepherds of Christ Associates, in a powerful way for the renewal of My Church and the world.

"I will use the newsletter and the chapters of Shepherds of Christ Associates as a powerful instrument for spreading devotion to My Heart and My Mother's Heart.

"I am calling many to become members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. To all of them I will give great blessings. I will use them as instruments to help bring about the triumph of the Immaculate Heart and the reign of My Sacred Heart. I will give great graces to the members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. I will call them to be deeply united to My Heart and to Mary's Heart as I lead them ever closer to My Father in the Holy Spirit."

                R. The Blue Book Messages are Jesus'
letters of love so we can grow in
                our personal love relationship
with Jesus and love ourselves and
                others as we should because
                of this union with God.

                R. God wants us to have a deep
interior life in our loving union
with Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Prayer for Union with Jesus

Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.

I am Yours to possess. I am Yours to use. I want to be selfless and only exist in You. Help me to spoon out all that is me and be an empty vessel ready to be filled by You. Help me to die to myself and live only for You. Use me as You will. Let me never draw my attention back to myself. I only want to operate as You do, dwelling within me.

I am Yours, Lord. I want to have my life in You. I want to do the will of the Father. Give me the strength to put aside the world and let You operate my very being. Help me to act as You desire. Strengthen me against the distractions of the devil to take me from Your work.

When I worry, I have taken my focus off of You and placed it on myself. Help me not to give in to the promptings of others to change what in my heart You are making very clear to me. I worship You, I adore You and I love You. Come and dwell in me now.

-God's Blue Book, January 17, 1994

May 16, 1998 - Prayer to the Father

My Father,

With my whole heart I desire to consecrate the whole world to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. I wish with my whole being for the salvation of souls and that man live according to Thy Holy Will. I pray my Father that we may be one in You and Your Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit that we may intercede to You for this cause.

It is this burning desire within my soul to spread the consecration to the far ends of the earth, that the cries of Your children are cries of glory and honor and adoration, praising God as their God.

My Father, at this moment a soul hangs on the edge of death. For all eternity they will go to a place. It is not the plot of this soul as it trods this barren land to decide on the edge of death. You created us that we would grow in our oneness with God, that we would mature more and more in our image and likeness to God.

And so My Father, I pray with every cell in my body for this earth. In the name of Your Son Jesus I consecrate all the souls of this earth to the Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of Mary in the Holy Spirit in union with the Holy sacrifice of the Mass with all the angels and saints and the souls in Purgatory.

I beg You Father for mercy.
I beg You Father for assistance.
I beg You Father to help us to spread this consecration to the far ends of the earth.

Please help us. We are helpless little ones coming in the heart of our Mother, bleeding from our wounds and our sins.

Your Son, Jesus Christ, shed the last drop of His Blood for the salvation of mankind. We wish to unite in this sacrifice, sacramentally made present in the Mass all over the world at every moment. Help us to make reparation to You for the sins of men.

Please my Father, help us. Held in the heart of Mary and the Heart of Jesus we come as the children of Eve to beg for the Reign of the Sacred Heart and the Triumph of Mary's heart. Look upon our love, Your shepherds in the Shepherds of Christ, our sacrifices and devotion to You Our Beloved Father. Come by the means of the Holy Spirit and sanctify us and make us whole, that we are one in Your Son Jesus, praying to You, Father, in the name of Your Son Jesus in the Holy Spirit united with all the angels and saints, in the heart of Mary. We beg for help for special intentions concerning the Movement. We beg for help to reach the Churches to give these prayers of Jesus to them, to reach the schools and the family. Help we cry as poor banished children of Eve. Help us Father to do this work the Good Shepherd has entrusted to us. Help us to be one in You that we act as intercessors to help this world to be turned to God as their God, loving, honoring and adoring Him as the Lord of Host is truly present on His throne.

We are Your children Father, we implore You to answer our prayer.
We love You, we worship You, we adore You, we thank you and we sing from the bottom of our hearts, Holy God we Praise Your Name. Alleluia

Act of consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
and the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Lord Jesus, Chief Shepherd of the flock, I consecrate myself to Your most Sacred Heart. From Your pierced Heart the Church was born, the Church You have called me, as a member of Shepherds of Christ Associates, to serve in a most special way. You reveal Your Heart as a symbol of Your love in all its aspects, including Your most special love for me, whom You have chosen as Your companion in this most important work. Help me to always love You in return. Help me to give myself entirely to You. Help me always to pour out my life in love of God and neighbor! Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in You!

Dear Blessed Virgin Mary, I consecrate myself to your maternal and Immaculate Heart, this Heart which is symbol of your life of love. You are the Mother of my Savior. You are also my Mother. You love me with a most special love as a member of Shepherds of Christ Associates, a movement created by your Son as a powerful instrument for the renewal of the Church and the world. In a return of love, I give myself entirely to your motherly love and protection. You followed Jesus perfectly. You are His first and perfect disciple. Teach me to imitate you in the putting on of Christ. Be my motherly intercessor so that, through your Immaculate Heart, I may be guided to an ever closer union with the pierced Heart of Jesus, Chief Shepherd of the flock.

Romans 6: 3-11

You cannot have forgotten that all of us, when we were baptised into Christ Jesus, were baptised into his death. So by our baptism into his death we were buried with him, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the Father’s glorious power, we too should begin living a new life. If we have been joined to him by dying a death like his, so we shall be by a resurrection like his: realising that our former self was crucified with him, so that the self which belonged to sin should be destroyed and we should be freed from the slavery of sin. Someone who has died, of course, no longer has to answer for sin.

But we believe that, if we died with Christ, then we shall live with him too. We know that Christ has been raised from the dead and will never die again. Death has no power over him any more. For by dying, he is dead to sin once and for all, and now the life that he lives is life with God. In the same way, you must see yourselves as being dead to sin but alive for God in Christ Jesus.

John 3: 16

For this is how God loved the world:
he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him
    may not perish
but may have eternal life.

                R. God loved us first –
                We respond to God's love

Matthew 22: 34-40

But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees they got together and, to put him to the test, one of them put a further question,   36 ‘Master, which is the greatest commandment of the Law?’ Jesus said to him, ‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second resembles it: You must love your neighbour as yourself.  On these two commandments hang the whole Law, and the Prophets too.’

2 Peter 1: 3-7

By his divine power, he has lavished on us all the things we need for life and for true devotion, through the knowledge of him who has called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these, the greatest and priceless promises have been lavished on us, that through them you should share the divine nature and escape the corruption rife in the world through disordered passion. With this in view, do your utmost to support your faith with goodness, goodness with understanding, understanding with self–control, self–control with perseverance, perseverance with devotion, devotion with kindness to the brothers, and kindness to the brothers with love.

                R. Everything we do should be an
                    expression of our Christ-life!

                Everything we do should be
                    done according to
                    God's will –

                Everything we do must be
                    centered in love –

Galatians 2: 19-21

In fact, through the Law I am dead to the Law so that I can be alive to God. I have been crucified with Christ and yet I am alive; yet it is no longer I, but Christ living in me. The life that I am now living, subject to the limitation of human nature, I am living in faith, faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me. I am not setting aside God’s grace as of no value; it is merely that if saving justice comes through the Law, Christ died needlessly.

                R. God knows us intimately
                    more than we know
                    ourselves.

                Song: A Song from Jesus

                R. God intimately loves me more
                    than I love myself –
                    If I realized this – I
                        would be happy.

                R. All life is meant to develop to
                    its greatest Christian
                    potential!

                We need to put developing
                    our Christian existence
                    a top priority!!

Jesus leads us to the Father
                    in the Holy Spirit
                    with Mary our Mother
                    at our side.

Definition of Love

Love is the gift of self to promote the true good of those loved. He states the reception of love is the receiving of the gift of the other, so my good will be promoted.

                R. Love is the gift.

We must renounce whatever gets in
                    the way of following Jesus.

                Nobody has ever suffered more
                    than Jesus –

Matthew 12: 46-50

He was still speaking to the crowds when suddenly his mother and his brothers were standing outside and were anxious to have a word with him. But to the man who told him this Jesus replied, 'Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?' And stretching out his hand towards his disciples he said, 'Here are my mother and my brothers. Anyone who does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.'

                R. We want to be members of God's
                    family – living His life,
                    death and resurrection in
                    our lives –
                    living in love, obeying
                    the Father's will.

R. One person may be negative about their life constantly in mind and heart, and in the habit of blaming others for why they choose to live with such negative feelings, never looking at themselves as a source for any bad thoughts or irritations.

Here is a simple example - it's the elephant in the living room -
Mark had an alcohol problem -
He never addressed it until his life was at rock bottom,
he blamed everybody else for his bad mood if he felt bad.

He never saw himself accountable or responsible for anything. He just automatically blamed somebody else for what he did that made him fearful, angry,

Jesus: A person cannot live protecting themselves from suffering and believe in Me.
I carried your sins on My cross, I was whipped for your lies about the truth and My Heart bled for the unloving ways you treated others and denied it.

I am the way the truth and the life.

If you’re mad don’t blame the weeds in your garden outside - look inside and see where your interior life is walled in.
A child holding their breath to get their way can scare the parents, and may be able to manipulate their parents by such games.
Manipulating others for what darkness is in you, is like mowing the grass, to fix a broken toilet in the house -

It doesn’t help a bit.
You will be set free when you follow Me, do My Father’s will in love and do your duty in love of God and others.

A person has to love themselves. They cannot believe another person's love can fix what they need to do to love themselves.

First to thine own self be true.

Pray to the Trinity right away to help you be the best you can be before God.

A person can say “is that all there is” and look for greater and greater conflict for excitement, power, etc.

A person really loving God and others and oneself has a lot in God.
They aren’t empty looking for attention, looking for excitement,
solutions to their boredom.

They don’t need games.

Loving God and others is enough. Loving God and others is its own reward.

The Blue Books teach us about God's love and help us love ourselves and others.

The 3 loves: love of God, love of others, love of self.

One of these cannot be missing to truly love.

Love isn't love unless you give it away.

Christ's whole life was a life of giving love.

He emptied Himself.

Guiding Light - Reflect on the Word
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Litugical Year (2011/2012)
$ 10.00

Guiding Light homily series — Reflect on the Word — Cycle B     The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand. $10

Guiding Light - Steadfast to the Son
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle A of the Litugical Year
$ 10.00

Guiding Light homily series — Steadfast to the Son — Cycle A    The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $10

Guiding Light - Focusing on the Word
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Litugical Year
$ 10.00

Guiding Light — Focusing on the Word — Cycle B    At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $10

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle C of the Litugical Year
$ 10.00

Guiding Light — Feed My Soul — Cycle C    In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $10
