            Forgive them Father

Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do!
Amidst the curses, the injuries, the persecutions,
forgive them for they know not what they do.
Amidst the pain, the anguish, the distress, the misery,
the agony, the torment, and the afflictions,
forgive them for they know not what they do.
Amidst the indignant, the disagreeable, the resentful, the
displeased, the suspicious,
forgive them for they know not what they do.
Amidst the dissatisfied, the jealous, the prideful, the
intolerant, the distrustful,
forgive them for they know not what they do.
Amidst the vengeful, the bitter, the unfriendly, the
stubborn, the uncooperative,
forgive them for they know not what they do.
Amidst the loathful, the critical, the annoyed,
the irritated,
forgive them for they know not what they do.
Amidst the antagonistic, the hostile, the outraged, the
quarrelsome, the impatient,
forgive them for they know not what they do.
Amidst the defiant, the sarcastic, the disobedient, the
rebellious, the demanding, the greedy,
forgive them for they know not what they do.
O Lord, may I live in Your love, by Your love, and for
Your love so that I may know the meaning and the gift of
forgiveness.
May my last words on this earthly journey be:
“Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do.”

              Courage and Patience

Teach me, O Lord, to bear the unavoidable sufferings of life
with courage and patience.
In times of unpleasantness, ailments, exhaustion,
separation, loneliness, intemperance, aridity, weariness,
temptations, change, struggle, storms, opposition,
contradictions, dangers, privations, pains and persecutions,
teach me to endure, surmount, and overcome what
I encounter.
Grant me, O Lord, the courage and patience to bear all in
a spirit of serenity for love of You.
Support me in transforming these crosses into sources of
purification, sources for molding my entire being into what
You want me to be.
May You transform these sufferings into a means of
accepting Your Love and heavenly will, of growing in the
virtues, and of receiving the gift of union and intimacy
with You.
Help me, O Lord, to accept my sufferings in conformity to
Your will.

      Help me, Mary

O Precious Mother Mary, comfort me from the foot of the
Cross when I, like your Son, feel condemned or even
crucified for simply being dedicated to a life of faith.
When I cannot understand the hate of others, help me,
Mary, to follow your example of trust and compassion.
When I cannot understand those who have turned their
backs on me after all I have done for them, help me, Mary,
to follow your example of faith and forgiveness.
When I give unconditional love and am responded to with
“crucify him,” may I follow your example, Mary, and find
assurance in your Son.
Mary, O Precious Mother Mary, comfort me from the foot
of the Cross.

            Mary of the Infant Jesus

Mary, Mother of the infant Jesus, grant me a spirit of
authentic love.
In the stable of Bethlehem, Jesus was born.
You were rejected, refused, and even scornfully turned away
from lodgings.
How lonely it must have felt?
How abandoned you and Joseph must have been during the
severe, cold weather?
Yet you were in peace and filled with the spirit of love as
you gave birth to the infant Savior amidst His creatures
and His shepherds.
In among the poorest of the poor, you, O blessed Mother,
found the treasure of all treasures.
Deprived of much, you found all!
