Prayer for Grace for our Country

Dear Father united to Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Sacrifice of Calvary sacramentally made present, celebrated around the world, in the Holy Spirit. We offer up all we do united to the Mass. We unite in one mind and one heart as members of the mystical body of Christ, with Christ our head in the pure and holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary, through the powerful intercession of Mary with all the angels and saints and souls in purgatory, and we beg for the saving grace, for our country, the United States. Please help us. We further pray for unity to always do the will of God in love. We spread the Blood of Jesus on the leaders and people of the United States and cast the devil into hell. We consecrate our country to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and all our dioceses, and beg for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God help us. We pray for our families, the priests, the Church and the world. In the Name of Jesus please hear us, we pray. We pray for our president and leaders. We pray that we are united as one nation under God to work together in love as God wants.

                Given June 19, 2011

                R. Give honor to God the Father
                United to Jesus —
                In Him —
                In the Holy Spirit —

                Our beloved Father who created
                    us uniquely —

Who picked us — who wants us —
Father, Father, Father — our love —
we want to do Your will —
To help build the Kingdom of God

The Our Father

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

                R. I only want to be wrapped in Your presence, My God —
My God, My God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit —
                One eternal God

Joyful Mysteries

                Annunciation

                (1) John 3: 16

For this is how God loved the world:
he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him
    may not perish
but may have eternal life.

                (2) R. God created an orderly, harmonious world.

                (3) R. Adam and Eve sinned —

                (4) The Ten Commandments

  1. I, the Lord, am your God. You shall not have other gods besides me.
  2. You shall not take the name of the Lord, your God, in vain.
  3. Remember to keep holy the Sabbath day.
  4. Honor your father and your mother.
  5. You shall not kill.
  6. You shall not commit adultery.
  7. You shall not steal.
  8. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
  9. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife.
  10. You shall not covet anything that belongs to your neighbor.

                (5) R. What a gift!!

Luke 1: 26-38

In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a town in Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph, of the House of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. He went in and said to her, ‘Rejoice, you who enjoy God’s favour! The Lord is with you.’ She was deeply disturbed by these words and asked herself what this greeting could mean, but the angel said to her, ‘Mary, do not be afraid; you have won God’s favour. Look! You are to conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you must name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David; he will rule over the House of Jacob for ever and his reign will have no end.’ Mary said to the angel, ‘But how can this come about, since I have no knowledge of man?’ The angel answered, ‘The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will cover you with its shadow. And so the child will be holy and will be called Son of God. And I tell you this too: your cousin Elizabeth also, in her old age, has conceived a son, and she whom people called barren is now in her sixth month, for nothing is impossible to God.’ Mary said, ‘You see before you the Lord’s servant, let it happen to me as you have said.’ And the angel left her.

                (6) R. Oh God so loved the world —
                    Mary loved the Father —

                (7) R. Mary was from the first moment
                    of conception
                    "conceived without sin"

                (8) R. The Christian life is a response
                    to God's gift of Himself.
God gives us a share in His life
                    in baptism —

                (9) R. We respond in love by giving ourselves
to God and our fellowman, by
                    dynamically living out this life
                    of grace, this Christ-life, in
                    the pattern of death-resurrection.

                (10) R. Mary shows us her "yes" to God!!

                The Visitation

                (1) Luke 1: 39-45

Mary set out at that time and went as quickly as she could into the hill country to a town in Judah. She went into Zechariah’s house and greeted Elizabeth. Now it happened that as soon as Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the child leapt in her womb and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. She gave a loud cry and said, ‘Of all women you are the most blessed, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. Why should I be honoured with a visit from the mother of my Lord? Look, the moment your greeting reached my ears, the child in my womb leapt for joy. Yes, blessed is she who believed that the promise made her by the Lord would be fulfilled.’

                (2) R. Mary and Elizabeth were both
filled with the Holy Spirit —
                    It shows their self-less-ness
as the Holy Spirit speaks through
                    them —

                    They were empty vessels —
not full of self — they
were being all God wanted them
                    to be —
                    Elizabeth carrying John —
                    Mary carrying Jesus —

                (3) R. God calls, we respond
The perfect handmaid of the Lord —
Mary shows us her response —
Elizabeth in her old age is not
                        barren any more, but carrying
                        John.

                (4) R. They are not getting in the way
                    of the heavenly Father's Plan
                    for them —

                (5) R. In the beginning God said
                        "Let there be light"
                    And the command is responded
                        to "and there was light"

                (6) Exodus 14: 13-14

Moses said to the people, ‘Do not be afraid! Stand firm, and you will see what Yahweh will do to rescue you today: the Egyptians you see today you will never see again. Yahweh will do the fighting for you; all you need to do is to keep calm.’

                    R. God blesses us when we
obey Him — He helps us in
battle when we battle for Him —

                (7) R. We see all that happened to us
                    Adam and Eve's descendants because
                    they disobeyed God —

Exodus 14: 26-31

Then Yahweh said to Moses, ‘Stretch out your hand over the sea and let the waters flow back on the Egyptians and on their chariots and their horsemen.’ Moses stretched out his hand over the sea and, as day broke, the sea returned to its bed. The fleeing Egyptians ran straight into it, and Yahweh overthrew the Egyptians in the middle of the sea. The returning waters washed right over the chariots and horsemen of Pharaoh’s entire army, which had followed the Israelites into the sea; not a single one of them was left. The Israelites, however, had marched through the sea on dry ground, with walls of water to right and left of them. That day, Yahweh rescued Israel from the clutches of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians lying dead on the sea–shore. When Israel saw the mighty deed that Yahweh had performed against the Egyptians, the people revered Yahweh and put their faith in Yahweh and in Moses, his servant.

                (8) 1 Samuel 15: 22-23

To which, Samuel said:

Is Yahweh pleased by burnt offerings
        and sacrifices
or by obedience to Yahweh’s voice?
Truly, obedience is better than sacrifice,
submissiveness than the fat of rams.
Rebellion is a sin of sorcery,
    presumption a crime of idolatry!

‘Since you have rejected Yahweh’s word, he has rejected you as king.’

                (9) R. Hannah was Samuel's mother —

1 Samuel 1: 9-20

When they had finished eating in the room, Hannah got up and stood before Yahweh. Eli the priest was sitting on his seat by the doorpost of the temple of Yahweh. In the bitterness of her soul she prayed to Yahweh with many tears, and she made this vow, 'Yahweh Sabaoth! Should you condescend to notice the humiliation of your servant and keep her in mind instead of disregarding your servant, and give her a boy, I will give him to Yahweh for the whole of his life and no razor shall ever touch his head.' While she went on praying to Yahweh, Eli was watching her mouth, for Hannah was speaking under her breath; her lips were moving but her voice could not be heard, and Eli thought that she was drunk. Eli said, 'How much longer are you going to stay drunk? Get rid of your wine.' 'No, my lord,' Hannah replied, 'I am a woman in great trouble; I have not been drinking wine or strong drink — I am pouring out my soul before Yahweh. Do not take your servant for a worthless woman; all this time I have been speaking from the depth of my grief and my resentment.' Eli then replied, 'Go in peace, and may the God of Israel grant what you have asked of him.' To which she said, 'May your servant find favour in your sight.' With that, the woman went away; she began eating and was dejected no longer.

They got up early in the morning and, after worshipping Yahweh, set out and went home to Ramah. Elkanah lay with his wife Hannah, and Yahweh remembered her. Hannah conceived and, in due course, gave birth to a son, whom she named Samuel, ‘since’, she said, ‘I asked Yahweh for him.’

                (10) R. Hannah's prayer when she conceived:

1 Samuel 2: 1-11

Hannah then prayed as follows: My heart exults in Yahweh, in my God is my strength lifted up, my mouth derides my foes, for I rejoice in your deliverance. There is no Holy One like Yahweh, (indeed, there is none but you) no Rock like our God. Do not keep talking so proudly, let no arrogance come from your mouth, for Yahweh is a wise God, his to weigh up deeds. The bow of the mighty has been broken but those who were tottering are now braced with strength. The full fed are hiring themselves out for bread but the hungry need labour no more; the barren woman bears sevenfold but the mother of many is left desolate. Yahweh gives death and life, brings down to Sheol and draws up; Yahweh makes poor and rich, he humbles and also exalts. He raises the poor from the dust, he lifts the needy from the dunghill to give them a place with princes, to assign them a seat of honour; for to Yahweh belong the pillars of the earth, on these he has poised the world. He safeguards the steps of his faithful but the wicked vanish in darkness (for human strength can win no victories). Yahweh, his enemies are shattered, the Most High thunders in the heavens. Yahweh judges the ends of the earth, he endows his king with power, he raises up the strength of his Anointed. Elkanah then went home to Ramah, but the child stayed in Yahweh's service, in the presence of Eli the priest.

                The Birth of Jesus

                (1) R. We see the importance of John the
Baptist and he came to barren
                    Elizabeth —
                    He jumped in Elizabeth's womb
                        when Mary came to visit
                        Elizabeth —
We see how Samuel was given to
                        Hannah —
We see that Sarah and Abraham could
not conceive, but then conceived Isaac —
We see that Rachel and Jacob had
                        a problem getting together —
But we see the hand of God —
They had to be patient and wait
                        on the Lord —
                    We had to wait according
to the Plan of the Father
                        until the right time
                        for Jesus to be born,
                        for the Messiah to come

                (2) R. God has a plan for us —

                    God the Father created us
                        from all the possibilities —
                        He made us unique, we
                        have a unique contribution to
                        make —

The time for us to be here,
as the Father intended, is now.

We have a unique contribution to make
God the Father had the purpose for our life, now.

We get caught up in foolish things
in the impurities in us —
the devil tries to drive us
                        from the 'mark' God
                        wants

In the depth of union with God —
in ecstasies — we are so
                        purely responsive —
                        the empty vessel wanting —
                        only what God wants —
the Holy Spirit filling us — not being
                        filled with jealousies, angers,
                        possessiveness from the evil
spirit trying to take us from
the 'mark' of serving God —
Serving God as God the Father wants
                            is hitting the 'target' —
Being like the evil one who wants
us to say "I will not serve
                            God" is missing the 'target'

  Fr. Mike says —
      "Keeping our focus
      on the target"

                (3) R. The Tower of Babel — they were
                        doing their own will —
Noah did what God wanted —
Noah found favor with God —
                    God knows our heart —
He knows how pure is our
                        response —
God blesses those who obey Him
and live to serve Him —
                    Abraham served God
Abraham was faithful to God —
                    Abraham wanted what God wanted
                        even though he suffered —
                    Abraham became the Father of
                        many nations, descendants
                        because of his faithfulness —
and the Lord blessed him —
God is the most high —

Satan wants us to disobey God —
not serve God as He wishes —
                        make ourselves in competition
                        with God's plan —
Satan is the great deceiver —
Satan is the father of lies —

Jesus is Lord of the truth —

When somebody over us asks us a
                        question for building God's
                        Kingdom and we lie or
                        deceive to get power —
we are acting as satan wants —
                        not responding in the order
                        God has ordained for us
to obey and serve and help those
over us to do the job our
                        Heavenly Father wants —

Let's serve our heavenly Father —
stay connected to the vine —
                        don't be a barren, disconnected
                        branch — serving satan and
                        bearing no fruit —

A saint is one who doesn't ever
want to offend God — they
want no taint of sin on
                        their soul —

They live to serve God and build
His Kingdom — Response to God's Love

                (4) R. Remember the cities of Sodom
                    and Gomorrah were destroyed
                    for their wickedness by
                    fire —
Lot's wife turned into a pillar
of salt for not obeying —

                (5) R. Abraham proved his faith by being
willing to offer his own son Isaac as
                    a sacrifice —

                    Abraham shows us about obedience,
                        faithfulness and he had
                        many descendants —
                        as numerous as the stars
                        of the sky.

                (6) R. Rebekah and Isaac were
                    married —
                    Rebekah was barren for
                    about 19 years —
                    Isaac interceded to God —
                    God grants her conception —
                        Esau and Jacob

                (7) R. Joseph was born son of Jacob
                        and Rachel —
                    Joseph was blessed — even
                        though he suffered —
                        he was blessed —

                (8) R. Moses arrived to the Pharaoh's
                    daughter in a basket
from the banks of the river —

The Lord appeared to Moses in a
                        burning bush —

(Jacob had seen a ladder reaching
                        to heaven) —

Moses was sent to Egypt to
                        deliver Israel from bondage —

                (9) R. Jesus is the Son of God —
Jesus is born in a stable in
                        Bethlehem —
Jesus the Savior of the world

                (10) The Song from Jesus

The Presentation of Our Lord in the Temple

                (1) Luke 2: 22-35

And when the day came for them to be purified in keeping with the Law of Moses, they took him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord—observing what is written in the Law of the Lord: Every first–born male must be consecrated to the Lord—and also to offer in sacrifice, in accordance with what is prescribed in the Law of the Lord, a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons. Now in Jerusalem there was a man named Simeon. He was an upright and devout man; he looked forward to the restoration of Israel and the Holy Spirit rested on him. It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death until he had set eyes on the Christ of the Lord. Prompted by the Spirit he came to the Temple; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the Law required, he took him into his arms and blessed God; and he said:

    Now, Master, you are letting
        your servant go in peace
    as you promised;
for my eyes have seen the salvation
    which you have made ready
        in the sight of the nations;
a light of revelation for the gentiles
and glory for your people Israel.

As the child’s father and mother were wondering at the things that were being said about him, Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, ‘Look, he is destined for the fall and for the rise of many in Israel, destined to be a sign that is opposed—and a sword will pierce your soul too—so that the secret thoughts of many may be laid bare.’

                (2) R. There is one true God —
We see all through the Old Testament how
                    they fell into idolatry —

                (3) R. King Saul disobeyed God —
So Samuel anointed David King —
Jesus came from the house of
                        David

                (4) R. From the New Cycle "B" Book to be
printed of Fr. Joe's homilies —
                    Book 5

Jeremiah 23: 1-6

‘Disaster for the shepherds who lose and scatter the sheep of my pasture, Yahweh declares. This, therefore, is what Yahweh, God of Israel, says about the shepherds who shepherd my people, "You have scattered my flock, you have driven them away and have not taken care of them. Right, I shall take care of you for your misdeeds, Yahweh declares! But the remnant of my flock I myself shall gather from all the countries where I have driven them, and bring them back to their folds; they will be fruitful and increase in numbers. For them I shall raise up shepherds to shepherd them and pasture them. No fear, no terror for them any more; not one shall be lost, Yahweh declares!

   Look, the days are coming,
      Yahweh declares,
when I shall raise an upright Branch
      for David;
he will reign as king and be wise,
doing what is just and upright
      in the country.

In his days Judah will triumph
   and Israel live in safety.
And this is the name he will be called,
  ‘Yahweh–is–our–Saving–Justice.’ "

Sixteenth Sunday of Ordinary Time

July 19, 2009

HOMILY: There was a man who worked in a museum whose job it was to explain the different exhibits. On one occasion he pointed to the bones of a dinosaur saying the bones were 100 million and 9 years old. Someone asked how they could date those bones so accurately. He said “well, when I started working here, I was told these bones were 100 million years old and I’ve worked here for nine years.”

Today I want to give everyone a little history lesson. I’m not going back to the dinosaurs, but I am going back pretty far – to King David, 1000 years before Christ. When I was in school, I hated history. It wasn’t until we studied the history of the Old Testament in the seminary that I began to appreciate it. I cannot cram 1000 years of history into a couple of minutes. I just want to touch on the parts of Jewish history that are mentioned in today’s reading. If you want to learn more, read everything in the Old Testament, but be sure you have a commentary to help you. Otherwise, you’ll give up in despair because you won’t know what it’s all about - especially the prophets and the historical books.

When David was king 1000 years before Christ, David wanted to build a house for God, since there was no Temple for God at that time. God did not give David permission to do so, however God promised David through the prophet Nathan that he would bless him and build David a house in the sense that David’s kingdom would continue forever and one of his descendants would always rule. This blessing lasted through the reign of David’s son, Solomon; but we humans somehow have the ability to sabotage God’s blessings. Solomon turned to pagan gods and over-extended the country financially by elaborate building projects and exorbitant taxes, so when Solomon died there was a rebellion and most of Israel broke away from Solomon’s successor, David’s grandson, Rehoboam. Rehoboam continued to rule over the southern part of Israel, the area we know as Judaea . For 400 years (and this is amazing) the kings of Judaea were descendants of King David. The northern kingdom that rebelled against David’s successors suffered under a succession of kings and rebellions. In less than 300 years the northern kingdom was destroyed by the Assyrians, people from northern Iraq. About 100 years after that, the Babylonians from southern Iraq conquered the Assyrians and took control of the entire Middle East. The conquest of the Babylonians brings us up to Jeremiah whom we heard in today’s first reading. At the time of Jeremiah, here was the situation: the northern kingdom no longer existed. The southern kingdom, Judaea, was still being ruled by David’s descendants but they were not loyal to God or to God’s laws. Jeremiah spoke to these kings as they came into power, the last four being: Jehoahaz, Jehoiakim, Jehoikin and Zedekiah. Zedikiah, the last reigning king, died in disgrace. After the Babylonians captured him, his sons were slaughtered before his eyes, he was then blinded and led off to Babylon in chains where he presumably died. You can read how Jeremiah spoke with them in great detail in the book of Jeremiah. He told them exactly what they needed to do to survive the invading forces of Babylon. His messages were ignored. He blames them and their leadership for the destruction that came upon God’s people. As we heard in today’s first reading, God speaks through Jeremiah: “Woe to the shepherds who mislead and scatter the flock of my pasture.” God said he would take over shepherding his people; he would bring them back from exile; he would appoint leaders over them who would serve them well and lead them to peace and security. It took 600 years before God thought the world was ready for this king who would reign and govern wisely, who would do what is just and right in the land.

But then he came, through the announcement of an angel to a virgin who was engaged to a man named Joseph of the house of David, and the virgin’s name was Mary. And the angel said to her “Do not be afraid Mary, for you have found favor with God. Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of David his father, and he will rule over the house of Jacob forever, and of his Kingdom there will be no end.”

In last week’s gospel, Jesus sent his apostles out to heal and cast out demons and to call people to repentance. In today’s gospel we are told of their return, excited over their experience and tired. Jesus wanted to some time off, but he couldn’t. The mission of Jesus and his apostles apparently was so successful that a great crowd caught up with them before they had chance to catch their breath. Mark describes Jesus taking compassion on them (his heart was moved with deep sympathy for them would probably be a better translation). He saw them as sheep without a shepherd, - people without leadership, and he began to teach them.

One of the important messages in today’s readings is that in love our Lord leads us, by teaching us and appointing others to teach us. But we need to listen, and we need to keep on listening. We’ll never be finished listening and learning as long as our world suffers from injustice, poverty, hunger, discrimination, war, hatred and killing of innocent people. Christ would be put to death before he would stop teaching. It is to our own great loss when we stop listening. That’s one of the reasons we are here each weekend, to listen and to learn. We call ourselves disciples. The word disciple means learner. When we’ve quit learning, we’ve quit being a disciple.

                (5) R. The Israelites suffered —
                    Many times they would disobey
                        what God wanted —
                    Solomon, David's son, also
                        worshipped false gods
towards the end of his life —
Solomon did not live up to
                        what God wanted —
                        He disobeyed God's commandments —
Solomon had about 700 wives and
                        300 concubines —
they brought their false gods —
                    Solomon gradually ceased to be
                        fully devoted to God —
                    This angered God —
                    When Solomon died the Kingdom
                        splits into 2 —
                        Israel and Judah —
                    Jeroboam King of Israel
                    Rehoboam King of Judah —

And the whole community of Israelites began complaining about Moses and Aaron in the desert and said to them, 'Why did we not die at Yahweh's hand in Egypt, where we used to sit round the flesh pots and could eat to our heart's content! As it is, you have led us into this desert to starve this entire assembly to death!'

Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Look, I shall rain down bread for you from the heavens. Each day the people must go out and collect their ration for the day; I propose to test them in this way to see whether they will follow my law or not.

'I have heard the Israelites' complaints. Speak to them as follows, "At twilight you will eat meat, and in the morning you will have bread to your heart's content, and then you will know that I am Yahweh your God."'

That evening, quails flew in and covered the camp, and next morning there was a layer of dew all round the camp. When the layer of dew lifted, there on the surface of the desert was something fine and granular, as fine as hoarfrost on the ground. As soon as the Israelites saw this, they said to one another, 'What is that?' not knowing what it was. 'That', Moses told them, 'is the food which Yahweh has given you to eat.

INTRODUCTION: (Ex 16:2-4,12-15; Eph 4:17,20-24; John 6:24-35) The first reading tells us God did not make death. Rather, it came about through the envy of the devil. This is obviously a commentary on the story of Adam and Eve in the garden – how they tried to find their happiness and fulfillment by doing things their way rather than God's way.  They didn’t trust what God told them.  Often we blame Adam and Eve for all the problems in the world and say if they hadn’t sinned we would be in much better shape, but we’re no different. Too often we chose not to trust God and seek our happiness and fulfillment by doing things our way rather than doing what God tells us we must do.  When the reading tells us that those who belong to the company of the devil experience death, it is referring to spiritual death.

The first reading gives us some background for the gospel.  It tells how God fed his people with manna 1300 years earlier as Moses led them through the desert to the promised land.  In their conversation with Jesus in the gospel, the people refer to this event from the Book of Exodus.

                (1) Luke 2: 48-50

They were overcome when they saw him, and his mother said to him, ‘My child, why have you done this to us? See how worried your father and I have been, looking for you.’ He replied, ‘Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?’ But they did not understand what he meant.

God's Will—Our Guiding Principle

The above scene describes how Mary and Joseph found Jesus in the temple after having been separated from Him. As they were returning home after the Passover celebration, they realized Jesus was not with them, and returned to Jerusalem to search for Him. The scene has various lessons for us concerning God's will.

With the Holy Family traveling in two separate groups (Mary with one, Joseph with the other, and Jesus with either from time to time), we understand how Mary and Joseph could have received conflicting stories regarding their Son's whereabouts. The Father's will may have been made known to Jesus in such a way that the timing of His response precluded alerting His parents to the change in His plan. Whatever the details were, we can be assured that there was no error made on the parts of Jesus, Mary, or Joseph. We can base our trust in this on what we know through faith—that Jesus would never have been disobedient or thoughtless toward His parents, and that Mary and Joseph could not possibly have been inept parents.

(3) Excerpt from Mother at Our Side, by Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. - chapter 4 continues

Even so, as people who expect certain behaviors of children and parents, we can be unsettled by some unanswered questions presented. Yet, since this event is included in Sacred Scripture, we know it has tremendous value for us as the Word of God. We also know that obedience to God's will always works in the best interests of everyone concerned, even when it is not obvious, even for quite some time.

The scene reminds us of the guiding principle of Jesus' life—loving conformity to His Father's will. Although Mary and Joseph were returning home, in some way Jesus knew He was supposed to remain in the temple at this particular time. His course of action was no different in this instance than it had been in the past and would be in the future. His Father's will was made manifest, and He obeyed; His Father showed the way, and He followed. The Father's will was always Jesus' way, every day, in all matters. As followers of Jesus, His guiding principle must also be ours.

(4) Excerpt from Mother at Our Side, by Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. - chapter 4 continues

This event in Christ's life also demonstrates that conformity to God's will sometimes brings hurt or sorrow to loved ones. Jesus knew that His remaining behind would cause suffering for Mary and Joseph—we can well imagine their anxiety. Jesus was sorry this had to be. He certainly was not insensitive to His parent's feelings, yet He had to do what He did. There can be similar situations in our own lives. Precisely because we are striving to seek out and do God's will, we may be causing hurt to loved ones. We know, however, there is no other course of action if we are to be open to God's designs for us.

The finding of the child Jesus in the temple illustrates still a further point regarding conformity to God's will. Mary and Joseph knew that somehow it was God's will that Jesus remain in Jerusalem as they themselves headed back to Nazareth. Yet they did not comprehend why all this happened. They recognized God's will, but they did not understand it. They accepted this will, however, along with the pain it produced in their lives.

(5) Excerpt from Mother at Our Side, by Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. - chapter 4 continues

The application of this lesson to our own Christian lives is vividly manifest. At times there occurs an incident we do not understand. We realize that somehow this is God's will, at least His permissive will, yet we do not understand why, and our unknowing is part of our pain.

Mary always perfectly conformed herself in love to God's will. It was her joy to so act. Sometimes the doing of God's will caused her considerable suffering, as we see from the above Gospel scene. Later on, the sword of suffering would pierce her even more deeply.

In summary, we can say that Mary always reached out and embraced God's will with the deepest love, whether this was easy or very difficult. Mary has left us these famous words: Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word. (Lk. 1:38). Let us ask our mother to obtain for us the grace to grow in our own conformity to the will of God.

From the Red Rosary Book - July 13, 1995 Rosary (excerpt)

The Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple

1. R. The child Jesus was taken up to the Temple for the feast of Passover. Mary's Heart ached constantly from the prophecy of Simeon. Feel in your heart as Mary felt. She knew ever since the prophecy of Simeon of the suffering to come. There was such a connection between Jesus and Mary, such intimacy between them! We see the Two Hearts beating within her body in the first two mysteries of the rosary. She provides life for Jesus through her milk in the third mystery. She comes to the Temple with the child Jesus in her arms and Simeon tells her of the sufferings to come. Now they take the child Jesus to the Temple. Jesus is separated from Mary and Joseph. Mary and Joseph go on their way and Jesus is left behind. When Mary realizes that the child Jesus was left behind, her Heart is in such sorrow! She returns to find the child Jesus.

2. R. I see all through the mysteries of the rosary the intimacy between Jesus and Mary. This separation was so painful to Mary, for she knew of the separation to come. When she found the child Jesus, she said to Him, "Son, why have you done this to us? Your father and I have been looking for you with great anxiety." In her Heart, she knew the sufferings of Jesus to come. In the windows in this chapel, across from the Finding of Jesus in the Temple, is the Death of Jesus on the Cross. This was a small separation between her and her child. She searched, she knew of the sufferings to come. She knew of a more drastic separation. He would be locked in the tomb. Her Heart was in such sorrow, for she knew far more than what we see.

                (7) July 13, 1995 Rosary - The Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple continues

3. R. Mary carried many things in her Heart. Few times we hear her speak. There was a secret between her and her Son all through Their lives.

4. R. A sword, too, shall pierce your Heart, O Mary. Our eternal life was merited by Christ's life and death on the cross. Water and blood poured forth from His pierced Heart. Life flows through Mary's pierced Heart to us for she is the Mediatrix of all graces. Our Mother, giving to us, dispensing to us this life. As she gave life to the physical body of Jesus, so she dispenses supernatural life to us.

                (8) July 13, 1995 Rosary - The Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple continues

5. R. We are being formed more and more in the spiritual womb of Mary, through the Holy Spirit, to be more and more like Jesus.

6. Mary: My dear little children, I am Mary, your Mother. I ask you to pray as you have never prayed before from your heart for all the little lost children in this world today. I stood under the cross and I watched my Son as He suffered and died. This day, my dear ones, many of my children will be lost forever, for their hearts are willful and they go about their lives in sin. Jesus loves each and every child. I am the Mother of each child. I love each one of my children, your brothers. Will you pray from your hearts, my dear children? Pray for all the little lost children of this world. I am Mary, your Mother, and I am asking you this day to hear my words. I speak to you with this urgent request to pray as you have never prayed before.

                (9) July 13, 1995 Rosary - The Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple continues

7. Mary: My Heart was in such sorrow for the loss of my child! My Heart is sorrowing for the loss of so many this day. My dear little children, pray. Offer your days, each day, to the Father in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, in the Spirit, with all the angels and saints and souls in purgatory. Offer up all of your actions for the little children of this world who are suffering and in pain.

8. Mary: I am Mary, your Mother. I speak to you. This is an urgent request. Let go and come to the Heart of my Son. He will fill you with such love and you will go into this world. You will spread this love. Pray to the Father. Come to my Heart and dwell in my Heart. For I dwell in the Heart of my Son, and I will place you in the deepest recesses of His Heart. Pray to the Holy Spirit. My dear ones, when you are filled with the love of God, when you come from a place where your hearts are filled with love, you will give love to all in this world. When your hearts are sorrowing and in pain, come to the Almighty God. Spend quiet moments with Him, and let Him fill you with His love. My Son Jesus is waiting and waiting, minute by minute, second by second, for you to come. Come, my little children, to the Heart of my Son.

                (10) July 13, 1995 Rosary - The Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple continues

9. Jesus: Many are called, but few are chosen. You have been called to the house of My Mother to hear this message. I am Jesus, your beloved Savior. I speak to you, My dear ones, with a soft and gentle Heart, always a Heart that is filled with such love! Come to Me and I will give to you all that you need. This world is hurting and in pain, and I am sending you into the world as My soldiers to light the darkness. My dear little ones, this world has turned godless. You must focus on the Almighty God. Do not let Satan talk in your minds to divide you. Do not harbor in your hearts any resentment or anger toward your brothers. Harboring this resentment and anger hurts your union with Me. Only a heart of love can properly unite with My Heart. I call you to holiness. I call you to open up your hearts and let Me enter. I will give to you My divine life and My divine love. I am Jesus. I talk to you gently and sweetly. Do you hear? It is in the quietness that you will hear My gentle voice. I am attentive to your every need, gently caring for each and every one of the tasks that you perform. I love you! I love you! I love you! Surrender, My dear ones, and know that I will never abandon you. I wait by the door of your heart. I wait, I wait, I wait. Will you open your heart and let Me in? Trade any bitterness for My divine love. I am Jesus, your beloved Savior. I gave My life for you. Will you love your hurting brothers for Me?

10. Hail Mary…

R.
Mary said to tell you that She has called each and every person here. She wants you to answer this call. The time is urgent and this world is in need of your prayers. Come to her Son in the Eucharist and in front of the Tabernacle. It is there that He will instruct you in the ways He wants you to go. You are loved far beyond your comprehension. It is in Him that you will find peace and joy. He has all the answers for your life. Do not pick up your phones and complain and argue. Come to the Heart of Jesus and feel the peace that He gives to you. Feel the life that He outpours. He is the Almighty God and He has all the power. Amen.

The Seven Sorrows of Mary…

R. Jesus said, "I love you! I love you! I love you!" He wants hearts that are on fire for love of Him. He wants to hear from your lips the words of your love. He is waiting and longing and thirsting. He loves you personally. He loves you so much!

Today's 1st Reading

Genesis 12: 1-9

Yahweh said to Abram, ‘Leave your country, your kindred and your father’s house for a country which I shall show you; and I shall make you a great nation, I shall bless you and make your name famous; you are to be a blessing!

I shall bless those who bless you,
and shall curse those who curse you,
    and all clans on earth
    will bless themselves by you.’

So Abram went as Yahweh told him, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy–five years old when he left Haran. Abram took his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot, all the possessions they had amassed and the people they had acquired in Haran. They set off for the land of Canaan, and arrived there.

Abram passed through the country as far as the holy place at Shechem, the Oak of Moreh. The Canaanites were in the country at the time. Yahweh appeared to Abram and said, ‘I shall give this country to your progeny.’ And there, Abram built an altar to Yahweh who had appeared to him. From there he moved on to the mountainous district east of Bethel, where he pitched his tent, with Bethel to the west and Ai to the east. There he built an altar to Yahweh and invoked the name of Yahweh. Then Abram made his way stage by stage to the Negeb.

 Mysteries of Light

                Baptism of Jesus

                (1) Matthew 3: 13-17

Then Jesus appeared: he came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptised by John. John tried to dissuade him, with the words, ‘It is I who need baptism from you, and yet you come to me!’ But Jesus replied, ‘Leave it like this for the time being; it is fitting that we should, in this way, do all that uprightness demands.’ Then John gave in to him.

And when Jesus had been baptised he at once came up from the water, and suddenly the heavens opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming down on him. And suddenly there was a voice from heaven, ‘This is my Son, the Beloved; my favour rests on him.’

                (2) R. Jesus is the perfect Son.

                (3) Matthew 3: 17  ...‘This is my Son, the Beloved; my favour rests on him.’

                (4) R. Water — needed for life
                    the Jordon — straight through
the Sea of Galilee to the Dead Sea

                (5) Mark 1: 7-11

In the course of his preaching he said, ‘After me is coming someone who is more powerful than me, and I am not fit to kneel down and undo the strap of his sandals. I have baptised you with water, but he will baptise you with the Holy Spirit.’

Jesus is baptised

It was at this time that Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptised in the Jordan by John. And at once, as he was coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens torn apart and the Spirit, like a dove, descending on him. And a voice came from heaven, ‘You are my Son, the Beloved; my favour rests on you.’

                (6) John 1: 26-31

John answered them, ‘I baptise with water; but standing among you—unknown to you— is the one who is coming after me; and I am not fit to undo the strap of his sandal.’ This happened at Bethany, on the far side of the Jordan, where John was baptising. The next day, he saw Jesus coming towards him and said, ‘Look, there is the lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world. It was of him that I said, "Behind me comes one who has passed ahead of me because he existed before me." I did not know him myself, and yet my purpose in coming to baptise with water was so that he might be revealed to Israel.’

                (7) R. Jesus commanded the wind to
calm in the Sea of Galilee —

                (8) R. Jesus saw Peter and Andrew
casting their net into the sea,
Jesus was walking by the Sea of
                    Galilee — Peter and Andrew
                    were fishermen —

                (9) R. Jesus called them to be "fishers of men"
He told them to follow Him —

Matthew 4: 18-22

As he was walking by the Lake of Galilee he saw two brothers, Simon, who was called Peter, and his brother Andrew; they were making a cast into the lake with their net, for they were fishermen. And he said to them, ‘Come after me and I will make you fishers of people.’ And at once they left their nets and followed him.

Going on from there he saw another pair of brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John; they were in their boat with their father Zebedee, mending their nets, and he called them. And at once, leaving the boat and their father, they followed him.

                    R. Jesus called His first disciples —
That was a big catch these men —

                    important River in Palestine —

                The Miracle at Cana

                (1) John 2: 1-12

On the third day there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee. The mother of Jesus was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited. And they ran out of wine, since the wine provided for the feast had all been used, and the mother of Jesus said to him, ‘They have no wine.’ Jesus said, ‘Woman, what do you want from me? My hour has not come yet.’ His mother said to the servants, ‘Do whatever he tells you.’ There were six stone water jars standing there, meant for the ablutions that are customary among the Jews: each could hold twenty or thirty gallons. Jesus said to the servants, ‘Fill the jars with water,’ and they filled them to the brim. Then he said to them, ‘Draw some out now and take it to the president of the feast.’ They did this; the president tasted the water, and it had turned into wine. Having no idea where it came from—though the servants who had drawn the water knew—the president of the feast called the bridegroom and said, ‘Everyone serves good wine first and the worse wine when the guests are well wined; but you have kept the best wine till now.’

This was the first of Jesus’ signs: it was at Cana in Galilee. He revealed his glory, and his disciples believed in him. After this he went down to Capernaum with his mother and his brothers and his disciples, but they stayed there only a few days.

                (2) R. Jesus performed His first public
                    miracle —
God is showing His power in
                        Jesus performing this miracle —

                (3) R. We see the miracles of Jesus then
                    in those He healed —
                    A leper made clean —
                    Healing the centurion's servant —

                (4) R. We see the Power of Jesus in the miracles —
                    Peter's mother-in-law healed of
                    the fever —

                (5) R. Jesus calming the storm at sea.
Jesus driving out the devil out

the kingdom of Heaven is theirs.

                (2) R. Jesus blessed the children

Mark 10: 14-16

but when Jesus saw this he was indignant and said to them, ‘Let the little children come to me; do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs. In truth I tell you, anyone who does not welcome the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.’ Then he embraced them, laid his hands on them and gave them his blessing.

Prayer for Union with Jesus

Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.

I am Yours to possess. I am Yours to use. I want to be selfless and only exist in You. Help me to spoon out all that is me and be an empty vessel ready to be filled by You. Help me to die to myself and live only for You. Use me as You will. Let me never draw my attention back to myself. I only want to operate as You do, dwelling within me.

I am Yours, Lord. I want to have my life in You. I want to do the will of the Father. Give me the strength to put aside the world and let You operate my very being. Help me to act as You desire. Strengthen me against the distractions of the devil to take me from Your work.

When I worry, I have taken my focus off of You and placed it on myself. Help me not to give in to the promptings of others to change what in my heart You are making very clear to me. I worship You, I adore You and I love You. Come and dwell in me now.

A Prayer before the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass

Let me be a holy sacrifice and unite with God in the sacrament of His greatest love.

I want to be one in Him in this act of love, where He gives Himself to me and I give myself as a sacrifice to Him. Let me be a holy sacrifice as I become one with Him in this my act of greatest love to Him.

Let me unite with Him more, that I may more deeply love Him. May I help make reparation to His adorable Heart and the heart of His Mother, Mary. With greatest love, I offer myself to You and pray that You will accept my sacrifice of greatest love. I give myself to You and unite in Your gift of Yourself to me. Come and possess my soul.

Cleanse me, strengthen me, heal me. Dear Holy Spirit act in the heart of Mary to make me more and more like Jesus.

Father, I offer this my sacrifice, myself united to Jesus in the Holy Spirit to You. Help me to love God more deeply in this act of my greatest love.

Give me the grace to grow in my knowledge, love and service of You and for this to be my greatest participation in the Mass. Give me the greatest graces to love You so deeply in this Mass, You who are so worthy of my love.

You love me with a most special love as a member of Shepherds of Christ Associates, a movement created by your Son as a powerful instrument for the renewal of the Church and the world. In a return of love, I give myself entirely to your motherly love and protection. You followed Jesus perfectly. You are His first and perfect disciple. Teach me to imitate you in the putting on of Christ. Be my motherly intercessor so that, through your Immaculate Heart, I may be guided to an ever closer union with the pierced Heart of Jesus, Chief Shepherd of the flock."

                The Transfiguration

                (1) Mark 9: 2-8

Six days later, Jesus took with him Peter and James and John and led them up a high mountain on their own by themselves. There in their presence he was transfigured: his clothes became brilliantly white, whiter than any earthly bleacher could make them. Elijah appeared to them with Moses; and they were talking to Jesus. Then Peter spoke to Jesus, ‘Rabbi,’ he said, ‘it is wonderful for us to be here; so let us make three shelters, one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.’ He did not know what to say; they were so frightened. And a cloud came, covering them in shadow; and from the cloud there came a voice, ‘This is my Son, the Beloved. Listen to him.’ Then suddenly, when they looked round, they saw no one with them any more but only Jesus.

                (2) R. We know Jesus took Peter, James
and John up the mountain —
                    Jesus showed them Himself —

                (3) R. We see that manifestation of God
                    in this mystery —

                (4) R. We anticipate the beatific
                    vision —

                (5) R. We want to have a pure soul —
We live to build the Kingdom —

                (6) R. We don't want to offend God
                    by any sin —
                    we love Him —

                (7) R. The Apostles walked with
                    Jesus and He looked like
                    one of them —
                    then He took them up
                    Mt. Tabor and they knew
there was a lot more to Jesus —

                (8) R. We go to Mass and we know the
gift more and more of the
                    Mass —
                    We must see beyond appearances

                (9) Matthew 17: 5

... ‘This is my Son, the Beloved; he enjoys my favour. Listen to him.’

                (10) R. We pray for faith to see beyond
                    appearances —

The Institution of the Eucharist and the Last Supper

                (1) Luke 22: 19-20

Then he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.’ He did the same with the cup after supper, and said, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood poured out for you.

                (2) Sing: I Am the Bread of Life

                (3) Sing: I Love You Jesus

                (4) Sing: Your Presence Pervades My Soul

                (5) Sing: God's Love

                (6) R. These are the mysteries of light.

Picture of the Sacred Heart of Jesus I Love You

 April 13, 1994

Words of Jesus. Read before the Tabernacle.

Jesus:  How, child, do I, Jesus, tell you I love you? You hold on to silly things when God is in your midst and is ardently loving you. I am Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I am writing to each precious child this day. I am on fire for love of you. I remain in the Eucharist to be with you with My ardent love. I did not want to leave My beloved ones at the Last Supper. I love you so, My dear and ardently loved children. I remain with you this day in the Blessed Sacrament, the same Jesus Who died a brutal death on the Cross.

Do you know I am truly present there? Do you know that God waits every day for you in the tabernacle? Do you comprehend even a minute amount of My love? You will never know of how I love you on earth.

I, Jesus, truly the Son of God, came to earth a man and suffered a brutal death for love of you. I love you so much! I remain with you this day. I long for your love. I want you to come and be with Me in front of the tabernacle. I wait, I yearn for you to come and whisper your love to Me. I am a person and I love you this day, with such an ardent on-fire love! No human could ever compare a speck to My love for you.

I wait, little ones, in the tabernacle. I wait for you to come and receive Me in Communion. I want you to want Me so much you cannot wait to come and receive Me. I want to be the love, the center of your life!

I am Jesus. I am the Son of God. I am writing to you this day. I want to possess your very soul and live in you. I have all you need, sweet ones. Oh, you are so blind! I long for your union with Me. I wrote the book of love. I instituted it, yet you go to the world for your love and do not even come to Me! Oh, I love you, little ones. Little ones, beloved of the Father, loved by the Holy Spirit, mothered by My very own mother! What more can I say? The rest is up to you!

I give you your will with such love and I want your love freely given. I am God. What do you think you could ever need that I do not give you? I am the Savior of this world. I am Jesus, the Son of God. I am waiting for you. I am longing for you. I am yearning for you. I am God. I have all you ever will need!

Surrender this life to Me. Pray My Prayer for Union with Me. I want to possess your soul and operate from your very being. I am Jesus. I am the Son of God. I am the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I am Who am. I died and rose on the third day.

Harken to My call, harken to My pleading. Spend your days in love with Me. Nothing matters unless it is rooted in Me and rooted in My love. I am the Son of God. I am the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I love you with the tenderest love. I am waiting this day for just you, My beloved one. Come to Me for I am the tenderest of all hearts. I am the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

A Prayer for Intimacy with the Lamb, the Bridegroom of the Soul

Oh Lamb of God, Who take away the sins of the world, come and act on my soul most intimately. I surrender myself, as I ask for the grace to let go, to just be as I exist in You and You act most intimately on my soul. You are the Initiator. I am the soul waiting Your favors as You act in me. I love You. I adore You. I worship You. Come and possess my soul with Your Divine Grace, as I experience You most intimately.

Spiritual Communion

Dear Jesus — we want to make a spiritual
                        communion, we cannot receive You
now, but we want to know Your
presence deep in our heart —
deep in our soul — Oh God fill us
with Your presence that we can
just focus on You and Your love
for us now — Love deep in us —
                        Oneness with You —
Quiet surrender to be alone in
this moment with You in our heart
                        in deep love —
We love You so much our beloved
                        God —

                (9)

LET US LOVE THE TWO HEARTS OF JESUS AND MARY
IN THE RECEPTION OF THE HOLY EUCHARIST.

HE GAVE HIMSELF TO US ON THE CROSS. HE GIVES HIMSELF TO US IN THE EUCHARIST.

How great was the act of love, God gave to this world, when He gave Himself and died on the cross. He gives Himself to us this day in the Holy Eucharist.

The greatest commandment is that we must love God with our whole heart, our whole soul, and our whole being. This is a commandment. If we are to enter heaven, we must follow the commandments. They are commands given by God for us to follow.

The greatest act we can do on this earth is an act of loving God. The reason for our existence is to love God. In the sacrament of His greatest love, He gives Himself to us. This is an act of love on His part. We are called to respond by giving ourselves in love to Him.

This is the purpose of the Holy Eucharist: to unite in such oneness with our Holy, Loving God. Our all consuming passion should be that of loving God. How many go to the Eucharist with the sole purpose of giving great love to God? He wants us to love Him. He wants souls to tell Him how much they truly love Him. This is the most intimate act of love when Jesus gives Himself-Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity to man. If it is such an act of love, how are we receiving Him in Communion? We should beg God, in this most intimate union with Him, to help us to love Him with greatest love.

Jesus is a Person. He wants our love. The Holy Spirit wants such intimacy with us. Our Father wants us to love Him. In the Eucharist, we unite with God. In this intimate act of uniting with our beloved God, with Divinity, we must pour out our love to God. We must pour out our heart to the most adorable Heart of Jesus. Jesus is so unjustly treated by many of His beloved souls He loves so much. Let us help make reparation to the Almighty God by loving God with our whole heart, our whole soul, and our whole being in the sacrament of His greatest love. This is the Gift of Himself.

Think of how it is to love someone and give your all for that person, to pour out your heart to him or her and then be treated with coldness and neglect. It hurts our heart so much more when we deeply love someone to be rejected by that person. Jesus loves us with the deepest love. We cannot fully comprehend this love. Let us love Him with the deepest love. Let us love Mary and her Immaculate Heart. Let us love her as the Mother of God. Let us love her as the virgin who bore the Son of God. May we, in the reception of the Eucharist pour out our love to Him, to this adorable Heart. May we pour out our love to His Holy Mother.

Mary said at Fatima that Jesus wants His Heart venerated next to the heart of His Mother. Let us love these two Hearts as we receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist. Then we are so deeply united with God. We see Their two Hearts surrounded with thorns for the injustices against Their Hearts. Let us help make reparation daily as we receive Him in the Eucharist. This is a special time to help make reparation to Their wounded Hearts.

Let us remember how He poured His love out to us on the cross and how He pours out His love to us now when He gives us Himself in the Eucharist, the Eucharist which contains His Heart of burning love. His Heart was pierced with a lance. Her heart was invisibly pierced with a sword. As the wounds in Their Hearts are deep, so too is Their love so deep.

He does not want "surface love". He wants hearts filled with deep burning love.

but may have eternal life.

                (9) R. The devil wants souls for hell —
                    Jesus came our Savior —
Jesus is the Savior of the world —
We can resist doing our selfish will against
God's will, if we follow in Jesus'

we do God the Father's will —
                        We resist temptation —

                (10) R. Judas betrayed Jesus

Do we abandon Jesus for our
                        selfish disobedience to God's will?

Jesus healed the guy who lost his ear —
                    Jesus worked miracles —
Jesus told them to put away the
                        sword —
The man's ear was healed —
When we don't hear, Jesus can
                        heal our ears —
Jesus was led away like a criminal —
                        Mary suffered so much —
                        The Apostles suffered —

The men taking Jesus laughed at Jesus, hit Jesus —
                        Jesus knew all these whippings
He would get in the garden —

                    Judas despaired
Judas betrayed the Son of God —

                    Jesus was whipped, mistreated —
the men were consumed with hatred
                        who beat Jesus —
They condemned Jesus to death —

                    Jesus' eye was whipped
                    Jesus' head was whipped
                    Jesus' body whipped —
                    They arrested Jesus —
                    Jesus was considered a criminal
                    Jesus was a carpenter —

Mary and Jesus loved each other —
They were in one heart —
Mary took care of Him as a baby —
Mary watched Him learn to walk and talk —
Mary knew He, her beloved Son, was
                        arrested —

                Whipping at the Pillar

                (1) R. Oh Jesus we are sorry for our sins —
Oh Jesus we are sorry we offended
                        You with our sins —

                (2) R. They arrested Jesus, the prophet —
They lied about what Jesus said.

Jesus is the King of all Kings —

                (3) R. Jesus was the innocent Lamb led
                        to the slaughter
Jesus was whipped for our sins —
Jesus was the teacher of love and
                    They hit Jesus —

                (4) R. Jesus cured the sick, Jesus drove
                    out demons — Jesus worked
                    miracles — Jesus, the King
                    of the Jews —

                (5) R. Jesus was innocent
Jesus is the Son of God
and they whipped Him — They hit
                    His face —
He bled — Men laughed —
                    They had no shame —
All God has given to us —
                    Our life —
Our love — His love for us —

                (6) R. We can disobey Him and act as if He
                    doesn't see our lies, deception,
hurting the Plan of the Father
                    by disobedience —
                    like disobedient children —
                    We say — "no God"
we want to do it our way  —

                (7) R. Like God doesn't see our
                    deceiving, selfish hearts —
The devil is the father of lies —
Lies drive us from God —
                    We become more blinded —
                    Saints don't want to offend
God because they love God —

Jesus was whipped for our sins —
Jesus wore strips for our lies,
                        our deception, our hiding
                        when we wronged God and
then tried to make the wrong
                        we did appear right —
                        further offending God —

                (8) R. God shed the saving Blood —
Jesus, the Son of God —
                    Jesus' Blood was spilled
                        for us —
                    Watched His blood flow
                        because of our sins —

                (9) R. And He was whipped for
                        our lies
                    Judas despaired —
                    We can't change God's plan
                        with our willful ways —
                        We hurt ourselves —
                        We offend God and
                        We hurt souls —
Souls Jesus shed His Blood for —
                    Souls Jesus died for —

                (10) R. The devil wants us to despair —
The devil wants us to say no to God's will —
The devil wants us to say "I will not serve"
The devil wants us to hate —

                    Jesus is love —
If we are like God —
                        we love —

The devil wants us to be unloving —

They lied about Jesus' teaching —
                    Jesus the Messiah was
                        whipped for our sins —
                        He did not sin —
                    Gentle Jesus accused of all
                        these lies!!
                    He paid for our deception
                        and lies with beatings,
                        with His Blood —
                    His flesh was torn —
                    Jesus is the King —
Jesus is the King of Heaven and Earth
Jesus is the way, the truth
                        and the life —
They beat the Lord of truth!

                    They wanted Barabbas
They passed Jesus to Herod —
They punished the Son of God —

                    Jesus who restored sight to
                        the blind —
                    Jesus who changed water into
                        wine
Jesus who cast out devils —
                    Jesus who healed lepers —
                    Jesus beaten, bloodied, His
                        flesh torn —
Jesus is crowned with a crown
                        of thorns —

                Crowning with Thorns

                (1) R. Jesus is the way, the truth and
                    the life

                (2) R. Jesus is the King of all men —
Jesus died so we could live
                        in Him —
                    Jesus paid the price for
                        our sins with His
                        Blood

From Clearwater

                (3) R. Men hide their sins sometimes and
act like God doesn't know —
                    How foolish!!

                (4) R. Men beat the raw back of
Jesus — blow after blow —
                        tearing His flesh —
                        beating His back —
                    Suffering, Suffering, Suffering —
It is 'just' for God to punish us
for our sins — our lies —
God who is all just —

Song: I Am a God of Justice

                    R. They beat Jesus at the pillar —
He stood in a puddle of His
                        own blood —
                    His whole body a bloody
                        bath of open wounds
                        for our sins
Jesus knows the evil in our
                        hearts — the deception,
                        He paid for it

                (5) R. When they beat Him so hard —
                        they beat Him harder —
they beat and beat God —
                        they laughed and laughed —
                    Angry men with all their
                        strengthen and malice —
                    They beat Jesus raw —
                        for our sins —
                    Jesus knows —
                    They beat His Head —
                    His hair matted with
                        clotted blood for
                        our pride —
                    His precious Head — crowned
                        with thorns after beating,
                        after beating, after beating
                        tearing His flesh —

Oh God we are sorry for our
                        lies, pride, anger
                        seeking dominance for dominance
                        sake —
                        gluttony —
                        giving into our will against
                            the Father's will —
                        lust —
                        luring others into sin —
Jesus bore the stripes for all
                        we did —
We beat Him at the pillar —
We crowned Him with thorns —
                    We were unloving —
                    We were prideful
                    Blood from His mouth —
                        teeth in His tongue

What we do to others we do
                        to Jesus
If we provoke others and laugh —
we are doing it to Jesus —
When we say we know the truth
and we lie — we are lying to
                        Jesus —
We try to rise above Jesus for
                        satan —
We whipped Jesus at the pillar —
He was a bloody sponge —
                    Raw and whipped —
                    Crowned with our pride —
                    Obstinacies

                (6) R. Crowned for our hatred —
                    Laughed at for our control,
                        envy and jealousies —
                        our hateful ways —

                (7) R. Blood, Blood, Blood —
                    Shed for our deception —
                    Our raising over others
                    Our sins

                (8) R. The devil wants us to think
                        we did no wrong —
to be full of vices —
                        not virtue —

Oh God — You paid for our sins —
Oh God, Oh God, forgive our
                        sins —
Oh God (Jesus), help us to be holy and
                        to do this work spreading
                        love for the most precious
price that You paid for us —

                (9) R. "Behold the Man"

Jesus was wrapped in a purple
robe, given a scepter and His
                        head pounded with thorns —
                        pounded and bloodied —
His eyes full of blood —

                (10) R. God has all the Power —
                    The Crowd yelled:
                        "Crucify Him"
                        "Crucify Him"
                        "Crucify Him"

                    Should I crucify your King?
                        "Crucify Him"

                The Carrying of the Cross

                (1) August 23, 1993 (excerpt)

On His Passion

Jesus: My dear child,
I was condemned to death, death on a cross. They gave Me a big cross and made Me carry it. They stood around and glared at Me. It weighed on My shoulder and I pulled at it until it finally moved. Every step was almost impossible as I dragged it, weighing so heavily on My shoulders.

My shoulder felt as if the bones inside would crack and the cross would fall through to the ground. I couldn’t drag it any more. I tried, I fell. I fell and its weight fell on Me. A guard hit Me with something sharp. It really hurt because he wanted Me to move, and fast! People were watching — on with the show! How dare I fall in the middle of the show! He hit Me again and the blow really stung Me. I got up because it hurt so badly. I tried to walk on.

My Mother was in the crowd. She looked at Me and her face looked red and hurt. Tears rolled down her cheeks like rain and as her eyes met Mine, I was hurt so by her sorrow! She was always by My side, silent and loving. She was My mother of love! She is always there next to you when you suffer.

I fell again and he (the guard) really hit Me. It (the cross) was so heavy that he and I together could barely move it. It seemed as I walked, heavier with the sins of the world heaped on it. My hands were bleeding. Blood ran from the wounds of My thorns and My head throbbed, seeming to make the wounds in My head bleed even more. Some of the Blood was dried, some of it running all over My Body. I had so many cuts and bruises — and people watched and laughed!

I am Jesus, Son of the Living God, and they laughed and mimicked Me! Oh, such hardened hearts! How vile can men’s heart become? The devil’s grip is paralyzing and crippling.

The walk was so long up a hill and over rocks — the cross had to be lifted over the rocks. My Body was bleeding so badly! My heart was pounding. I knew that the salvation of all men depended on My love. Therefore, I went through such agony.

                The Crucifixion

                (1) June 26, 1995 - The Pain - Naples, Florida

R. He spread His arms, He gave His all, Jesus, the Son of God, the greatest sacrifice, He gave Himself entirely for the good of all men. He opened His arms, He died on the cross.

His arms were covered with blood, His arms so weak and filled with pain, wounded. His arms, the pain shot up His arms and the final blow to each arm a nail through each precious hand.

All the agony He experienced, all the pain, and the crown, to each arm, a nail hammered into the hand.

All the nerves cut and severed by the nail, the pain shooting up His precious arms, the final blow given to His most precious members.

The legs that carried Him, that carried the heavy cross, the legs that were forced and cajoled, that continues to Calvary - the legs weakened, skinned, bleeding, beaten, burned, the legs that knew patience and perseverance, the legs connected to a sore foot that was rubbed and gashed and bleeding, the members of Jesus, filled with such pain and exhaustion, now is crowned with the final glory. The nail that was driven into the foot, the pain shot up this already weakened leg, covered with blood and wounds and pain, the final blow, the nerves severed by the hammered nail.

A blow to each hand, a blow to each foot, a blow to the head, a stamping that pressed down and continued in excruciating pain.

Jesus: They numbered all My bones. They gave Me vinegar and gall to drink. They gave Me a cloth to wipe My blood-covered flesh.

What did they give to Me? Love is giving, My dear ones. How many of you are wounded when you are not given things by your brothers you love?

My members were in such pain, the pain shot up My arms. My legs were so weak I could scarce move them. I was filled with pain within them.

To all who watched, they saw a man, weakened and covered with blood and wounds. They did not see the pain inside that shot up My legs and arms, the nerves inside My body that sent signals of deep pain to My central nervous system. They did not see the nerves inside sending pain signals everywhere.

The final blow being to each hand and foot, the severing of My nerves by the blunt and rusted nails.

An arm extended. A final blow. I beheld a nail pounded into My hand and the pain shot up My arms, unbearable to a human mind.

Do you know of the pain within My body? Signals sending messages of deep pain everywhere. I knew all of these sufferings in the garden. So great were the sufferings to My mind, I sweat blood.

My flesh was covered with wounds. My arms were stretched from their sockets. My body was beaten and bleeding, every inch of My body covered with deep wounds. But, My loved ones, you miss the depth of My love. My wounds were so deep, but the final wound, the pounding of the nails in My hands and feet, a severing of the nerves, an ending of the deepest pain, to experience even deeper pain, beyond your human comprehension, it was done to the Almighty God, a Divine Person, I suffered the final blow to each member.

The pounding in the hands and feet, the crown to each member, and they numbered all My bones. My nerves a network of pain running throughout My entire body.

The pain within the body, the pain recorded in My loving head, the pain sent by a network of nerves in My body, now records the final blows, the nails in the hands and feet, the pain being recorded from every thorn that pierced My skull, every gash to My body, the pain, the pain, the pain - a network of signals and pain, running through My body and the final hour, the pains recorded on the cross, arms outstretched - a surrendering to all pain. I surrendered to a body laden with pain.

You focus on your little problems, your little aches and pains. You discuss them and show the world your pin pricks and sufferings.

Do you want to know holiness and love? They gave Me vinegar mixed with gall. This was their offering. They gave Me a cross. They crowned My head with a crown of thorns.

This, My dear ones, is suffering, My beloved souls, I gave My life for and this is their return.

A severing of My nerves, the final blows to all the aches and pains recorded in My nervous system. This was one of the final blows - the rusted nails pounded into My hands.

You will feel little aches and pains in your hands and feet to remind you of this message. Your understanding of the immense pain within will deepen. What was visible to the eye on My battered body was nothing compared to the pains within. I gave My all. I gave My insides, My mind, My Heart, wounded for the love of men.

All functions in the body were stopped.

The final curtain, blood and water pouring out from My Heart, show that all functions of the body had ended.

R. All signals that carried messages of immense pain had ended, the final act of surrender for God to die to this human body and surrender His flesh.

Jesus: And end, a beginning, the water and blood flowed from My Heart, the beginning of My life in the Church, life flowing into your spirit.

R. Come give me life, abundant life. I thirst to be with Thee.

Jesus: My blood was spent. My human flesh and blood offered as the sacrifice, the sacrifice of Calvary is now made present at every Mass.

An end, a beginning, and the grace and life flow through the sacraments in the Church. My life flows to you in the Mass. Mary, the Mediatrix of all grace, stands by the side of the altar and the grace flows from the Father, through My body offered up as a sacrifice in the Holy Spirit, given through the Mothership of Mary to you in the Church.

You stand under the cross with My Mother and you receive the gift given, My Body, My Blood.

R. Man is reconciled with the Father through the Divine Person, Jesus Christ, and you receive His life poured out to you as Calvary is made present in the unbloody sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Do you feel the graces poured out to you at this sacrifice of the Son of God at every Mass? Do you feel the presence of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and Mary, all the angels and saints, and the souls in purgatory? Do you feel united as one at the sacrifice of Calvary sacramentally made present upon the altar through the priest? The priest who now puts on Christ and through Him the dispenser of this life given to man.

Jesus: Oh, My beloved ones, love so dearly your priest. Give him such reverence. He is the chosen instrument of God and you treat him with such ordinariness. You are so blind and so dumb in your ways.

And they numbered all My bones. Each nerve carrying a message of My love of mankind, each member in My Church carrying a special message, all united as one working in harmony according to the Father's will, each carrying a message of love to one another.

The body is many members, you are the messengers of My love. Christ is the head. The message does not flow as it should when some are cut off from the Head.

They nailed My hands and feet and My nerves were severed by the nails, such pain, undescribable in words, the severing of My nerves from the body, the severing of many members from the body of Christ.

My Body given for all on the cross, the network of nerves within carrying the messages of My love to all mankind. My body covered on the outside with blood and wounded, the pain recorded within.

Your Church, covered with blood on the outside, the slaughter of innocent babies, the homosexuality, the sins of the flesh, the members that have severed themselves from the source by their sins, but the pain is carried in the nerves inside. The blood of the Lamb shed for each and every soul, the real pain carried within. The life is weakened in your Church because the love of God is so weak in many members. The messages of love are not being transmitted as they should be. Your body shows the wounds, but your pain within is the root of the problems. The pain is from the messages of love that are not being transmitted.

Unless you seek to fill your priests and sisters with the fire of God's love, fill their hearts with burning love for God, your Church will continue to show the marks of the blood shed without. I give to you these letters as a mighty medicine for this world, directed to make men's hearts burn with love of God and love of one another. The rosaries are meditations and messages given from the Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

These messages will make men's hearts burn with fire for love of God.

You have ignored the importance of these letters.

I send to you the mighty medicine to heal a hurting world.

My priests and religious need these messages. The love of God will be transmitted to the Church from these messages when you circulate these letters.

The devil has blocked the minds of men involved in these messages because of their importance to the world and the Church.

I am speaking to you, the founder, to help to get these messages published and circulated as soon as possible. I give to you a mighty medicine for a sick world.

Read St. Thomas Aquinas about the medicine for the sick Church.

You know what these messages have done for you. I am Jesus. I give to you the mighty medicine for a sick world, for a sick Church, rosaries and letters from the Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

Your Church shows the wounds of bloodshed, abortion, homosexuality, sins of the flesh, murder of little children's minds with sex education in Catholic schools and you hold back the gifts of God's love I am giving to the Church and this world.

My arms were weak and wounded but the final blow as the nail put in My hand. It severed the nerves.

The final blow is the bloodshed in the Church, the slaughtering of children's minds in Catholic schools. My children are pure and innocent. They are not being taught messages of God's love, they are being taught messages of sick sex and coldness.

Men's hearts have turned cold. They have been severed from the life of the body. The body is decaying from within. Only with the love of God enkindled in men's hearts will this bloodshed stop.

I beg you to publish and circulate these messages in the Church. I am Jesus. I am giving you the mighty medicine for the world. Your body wears the marks of the bloodshed, only with messages of My on-fire love will it stop.

Mary leads you to Jesus. Never is she the end. The Father has a plan. Mary's messages have led men and will lead men to Jesus. Satan has tried to stop all efforts to publish and circulate these messages. I am the Almighty God. The funds will come when you circulate and publish these messages and rosaries under the Shepherds of Christ Publishing. I am working with the founder and Rita as messenger to renew the Church and the world. Each messenger has a very vital role in the Father's plan. The significance of these messages are being overlooked. You are not studying the messages as a whole and their content. There are five unpublished Blue Books and more than four Rosary Books which I and My Mother have given to this world in the last 14 months. I have also given 15 songs of My love. I am begging you to see to the recording and publishing of this music. I beg you to listen. This is the mighty medicine for the Church and the world to draw men to the burning love of Jesus. Please harken to My call. I will send you the money. You must study and read these messages. This is a fulfillment of Fatima - these messages were given to bring priests to the burning love of Jesus. I am Jesus, your beloved Savior.

                (2) August 23, 1993 - On His Passion continues

Jesus: I thought of My intense love for you — that many would go to heaven because of My suffering — and I continued to the top of the hill. At the top they laid Me on the cross and with a big hammer nailed My hands to it. It was the worst (suffering) yet. My hands were nailed with big nails and the big hammer. Oh, it was unbelievable! Then, as if that weren’t enough, with a big nail they nailed through both feet.

Then they lifted the cross and banged it into (a hole in) the ground. My shoulders ached from how I hung. My head bobbed and My neck ached and they laughed and said, "Now save Yourself." I hurt so much! I suffered this way for hours — which seemed like forever — and they glared at Me and laughed! My Mother watched in such agony.

For love of you, to My death I gave you My Body. My child, I shed My Blood and gave you My life that you might be with Me forever in heaven — not for a day, a month or a year, but forever with Me in heaven.

I am the true Bread come down from heaven. He who eats My Flesh will have life forever. For the drink I give you is My Blood and food you eat is My Body. Who would lay down his life for a friend? I did, for you. I love you this much, child. Forget about those who reject you. You have My life that I gave you and I give you life eternal.

I am the One true God. I am the Light of life. He who abides in Me will have life eternal, for the drink I give is My Blood and the food I give is My Body. Drink and eat and have everlasting life.

My child, that is all you need to know. Love one another and be good that you may enter into My kingdom.

                (9) John 15: 1-8

I am the true vine,
and my Father is the vinedresser.
Every branch in me that bears no fruit
he cuts away,
and every branch that does bear fruit
     he prunes
to make it bear even more.
You are clean already,
by means of the word
that I have spoken to you.
Remain in me, as I in you.
As a branch cannot bear fruit all by itself,
unless it remains part of the vine,
neither can you unless you remain in me.
I am the vine,
you are the branches.
Whoever remains in me, with me in him,
bears fruit in plenty;
for cut off from me you can do nothing.
Anyone who does not remain in me
is thrown away like a branch
—and withers;
these branches are collected
     and thrown on the fire
and are burnt.
If you remain in me
and my words remain in you,
you may ask for whatever you please
and you will get it.
It is to the glory of my Father
that you should bear much fruit
and be my disciples.

Come and dwell in me now.

our heavenly Father –

We have been given the Catholic Church – Pillar of
truth – We have been given the Word – We have been
given the Commandments –

in the Word . . obeying the Commandments – Living
according to the Church’s teachings helps us to live in the
truth – to see more the vision of the Father – We know in
this distorted world – THE TRUTH! !

We pray the Our Father at Mass – We focus on our
Heavenly Father and His Plan for us – We want unity as
children of God

In spreading these homilies and our writings on the
Eucharist – we want men to be fed more and more with the
Bread of Life – We want to live in the truth – We want to
live in greater faith, hope and love – To live in unity –

To date – 17 years – we have circulated 15,000,000
Priestly Newsletters loose and in books from Fr. Carter and
other priests.

We have begun prayer chapters in 8 languages with the
Church's Imprimatur, around the world, so there is a
network of prayer out there praying for our priests, the
Church and the world –

If we have this devotion to the Sacred Heart and
Immaculate Heart, we are helping ourselves to be more
united in the pure and holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary as
Mary asked for at Fatima –

When we die there will be a network of prayer around
the world praying for our beloved priests and the Church –

This to me is the greatest gift I can give to my children
and grandchildren in helping more and more our holy
priests – We hope people love God and others as they dwell
in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

We pray people love the Church more and more and
thank God for this precious gift of the Church and the
priest and the Word – We pray people live as strong
members of the mystical body of Christ –

The world is in so much need of prayer and that deep
relationship with Mary, Mother of the Church – The Holy
Spirit works in that Spousal union with Mary helping us to
do God's will –

Thank you for your willingness to answer God's call in
focusing on the Word and praying for the priests, the
Church and the world with us –

May God bless you in your mission of loving and serving
God and helping to build the Kingdom of God.

May the Light of Christ shine on the earth as we live
more holy lives in Him and in His Word –

We should respond enthusiastically to Christ's call to
help build up the Kingdom of truth and love, of justice and
that the peace of Christ is spread on this earth.

                R. Mary suffered so

Mary's Message
from the Rosary of August 27, 1996

Mary:  I stood beneath the cross of my Son, and my Heart was in such pain for I saw Him before my eyes. I saw Him covered with blood. I saw Him die. My Heart, my children, my Heart to watch my Son, but my Heart, my Heart, how I suffered for my little children of the world that give in to this world and give up the love of my Son. O my little children of light, I give you this message. Carry this light into the darkness for your Mother Mary, for I stood beneath the cross and I cried. I cried for the little ones. I cried for the young ones, the ones that do not care and will lose their souls. How do I make you see for you will not listen to me? What can I do? I come. I appear. I beg. I plead. I give you these gifts from my Son, and you reject me. I do not deliver messages very often anymore for I have been ignored. The message is the same. You do not read the messages I have given to you. Please help me. Help the little children. I appear. I appear. I appear, and I am ignored. I stood beneath the cross, and I cried. I cried, and my Heart was in such anguish for my little children, for I am searching for them this day as I searched for the Child Jesus. Please, please help me. I cannot hold back the hand of my Son any longer. I am Mary, your Mother. I ask you to help my children. You are my children of light.

end of Mary's Message

December 19, 1996

Mary: My dear children, I give to you, my Son, Jesus, born in a stable in Bethlehem on Christmas morn. He is the Almighty God, the Light of the World.

I appear to you, my children, on a (former) bank in Florida. You have made money your god! Do you know how cold are your hearts? You turn away from my Son, Jesus, for your money. Your money is your god.

I am Mary, your Mother. I do not appear as I once appeared to you. I am asking you today to circulate my message given on a tape on the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, December 12, 1996. Please circulate this tape now. Give it to as many people as you can. I am Mary, your Mother. Please circulate my Rosary Book.

                Song: A Song from Jesus

                R. We need a Savior

                    Jesus is love
                    We are to obey God
Christ came and walked the earth
                        to teach us —
Christ gave us teaching and miracles —

God gives us grace to be good
                        if we ask Him and
                        grace to do what He
                        asks. We must cooperate
                        with the grace He gives
                        us to be good —

We have a free will —
Purgatory and hell are real —

Jesus endured in the Rosary June 20, 2011 —
We see what love is more about —
                    Love is giving —

For this is how God loved the world:
he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him
    may not perish
but may have eternal life.

                (4) R. Being what God wants us to be — saying
a big "yes" like Mary to our
                        vocation —
                        "yes" to God's will —
                        "yes" to truth —
"yes" to the commandments of God
"yes" as we live following Jesus in
complying to the Father's will —
"yes" as Mary complied to the Father's will —

                (5) Genesis 12: 1-9

                (6) R. Yes to God's will — obedience to God —
wanting to please the Father as
                    Mary did

                (7) R. "Yes" to living the life, death and
resurrection of Jesus in our lives —

                (8) R. "Yes" to being a fisher of men —
                    like Peter —
                    after the resurrection — after
                    they fished all night —
Jesus gave them a great catch

                (9) R. "Yes", "Yes", "yes" to the Plan
                    of the Father —

                (10) R. Jesus paid a precious price so we
                    could share His life

                The Ascension

                (1) Acts 1: 6-9

  1. Now having met together, they asked him, 'Lord, has the time come for you to restore the kingdom to Israel?' He replied, 'It is not for you to know times or dates that the Father has decided by his own authority, but you will receive the power of the Holy Spirit which will come on you, and then you will be my witnesses not only in Jerusalem but throughout Judaea and Samaria, and indeed to earth's remotest end.'

As he said this he was lifted up while they looked on, and a cloud took him from their sight.

                (2) R. We are to do on earth what Jesus did —
People should see Christ in us —
We are to do what God wants us
                        to do —

                (3) R. Look how long the Church has
                    operated as Jesus wanted —
Look at the Blood shed by
the Martyrs — Look at our
                    holy priests —

                (4) R. God help us to rise to greater
                    holiness —
Jesus paid a big price for us —

                (5) R. God help us to be one!!

                (6) Psalm 27: 7-9

Yahweh, hear my voice as I cry,
    pity me, answer me!
Of you my heart has said,
    ‘Seek his face!’
Your face, Yahweh, I seek;
do not turn away from me.

Do not thrust aside your servant in anger,
    without you I am helpless.
Never leave me, never forsake me,
    God, my Saviour.

                (7) R. The Trinity is the most perfect
                    community

                (8) R. We believe in the Church —
We are under the authority of
                        the Church

                (9) R. Help us to be loyal members
                    to the Church —

                (10) R. What keeps us as a
                    community together —
it is love of God and
                    love of neighbor —
We live in love — In God and
We live in love — God In Us.

                (2) R. Say Sequence on Pentecost

    From the Lectionary

                        Pentecost Sequence

Come, Holy Spirit, come!
And from your celestial home
Shed a ray of light divine!

Come, Father of the poor!
Come, source of all our store!
    Come, within our bosoms shine!

You, of comforters the best;
You, the soul's most welcome guest;
    Sweet refreshment here below;

In our Labor, rest most sweet;
Grateful coolness in the heat;
Solace in the midst of woe.

O most blessed Light divine,
Shine within these hearts of yours,
    And our inmost being fill!

Where you are not, man has naught,
Nothing good in deed or thought,
Nothing free from taint of ill!

Heal our wounds, our strength renew;
On our dryness pour your dew;
    Wash the stains of guilt away;

Bend the stubborn heart and will;
Melt the frozen, warm the chill;
Guide the steps that go astray.

On the faithful, who adore
And confess you, evermore
    In your sev'nfold gift descend;

Give them virtue's sure reward;
Give them your salvation, Lord;
Give them joys that never end. Amen.
Alleluia.

                (3) John 17: 22

I have given them the glory
   you gave to me,
that they may be one as we are one.

                (4) From Tell My People by Fr. Edward Carter, S.J.

The Holy Spirit

Jesus: "My beloved friend, tell My people to pray daily to the Holy Spirit. They are to pray for an increase in His gifts. My people must realize that the Holy Spirit comes to transform them. The Spirit desires to transform you more and more according to My image. Those who are docile to His touch become increasingly shaped in My likeness. He performs this marvel within Mary's Immaculate Heart. The more one dwells in My Mother's Heart, the more active are the workings of the Spirit. The Spirit leads Mary to place you within My own Heart. In both Our Hearts, then, your transformation continues. The more you are formed after My own Heart, the more I lead you to the bosom of My Father. Tell My people all this. Tell them to pray daily for a greater appreciation of these wondrous gifts. I am Lord and Master. All who come to My Heart will be on fire to receive the gifts of the Spirit in ever greater measure! I love and bless My people!"

Reflection: The Holy Spirit is given to us to fashion us ever more according to the likeness of Jesus. And the more we are like Jesus, the more Jesus leads us to the Father. Do we, each day, pray to the Holy Spirit to be more open to His transforming influence? Do we strive each day to grow in union with Mary? The greater our union with our Mother, the spouse of the Holy Spirit, the greater is the transforming action of the Holy Spirit within us.

                (5) From the Priestly Newsletter Book III by Fr. Edward Carter, S.J.

The Holy Spirit And Mary

The late Archbishop Luis M. Martinez of Mexico strikingly speaks of the ongoing cooperation of Mary with the Holy Spirit regarding the reproduction of Jesus within us: "Christian life is the reproduction of Jesus in souls…

"Now, how will this mystical reproduction be brought about in souls? In the same way in which Jesus was brought into the world, for God gives a wonderful mark of unity to all His works. Divine acts have a wealth of variety because they are the work of omnipotence; nevertheless, a most perfect unity always shines forth from them because they are the fruit of wisdom; and this divine contrast of unity and variety stamps the works of God with sublime and unutterable beauty.

"In His miraculous birth, Jesus was the fruit of heaven and earth…The Holy Spirit conveyed the divine fruitfulness of the Father to Mary, and the virginal soil brought forth in an ineffable manner our most loving Savior, the divine Seed, as the prophets called Him…

"That is the way He is reproduced in souls. He is always the fruit of heaven and earth.

"Two artisans must concur in the work that is at once God’s masterpiece and humanity’s supreme product: the Holy Spirit and the most holy Virgin Mary. Two sanctifiers are necessary to souls, the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, for they are the only ones who can reproduce Christ.

"Undoubtedly, the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary sanctify us in different ways. The first is the Sanctifier by essence; because He is God, who is infinite sanctity; because He is the personal Love that completes, so to speak, the sanctity of God, consummating His life and His unity, and it belongs to Him to communicate to souls the mystery of that sanctity. The Virgin Mary, for her part, is the co-operator, the indispensable instrument in and by God’s design. From Mary’s maternal relation to the human body of Christ is derived her relation to His Mystical Body which is being formed through all the centuries until the end of time, when it will be lifted up to the heavens, beautiful, splendid, complete, and glorious.

"These two, then, the Holy Spirit and Mary, are the indispensable artificers of Jesus, the indispensable sanctifiers of souls. Any saint in heaven can co-operate in the sanctification of a soul, but his co-operation is not necessary, not profound, not constant: while the co-operation of these two artisans of Jesus of whom we have just been speaking is so necessary that without it souls are not sanctified (and this by the actual design of Providence), and so intimate that it reaches to the very depths of our soul. For the Holy Spirit pours charity into our heart, makes a habitation of our soul, and directs our spiritual life by means of His gifts. The Virgin Mary has the efficacious influence of Mediatrix in the most profound and delicate operations of grace in our souls. And, finally, the action of the Holy Spirit and the co-operation of the most holy Virgin Mary are constant; without them, not one single character of Jesus would be traced on our souls, no virtue grow, no gift be developed, no grace increased, no bond of union with God be strengthened in the rich flowering of the spiritual life.

"Such is the place that the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary have in the order of sanctification. Therefore, Christian piety should put these two artisans of Christ in their true place, making devotion to them something necessary, profound, and constant." 18

18. Archbishop Luis M. Martinez, The Sanctifier, op. cit. pp. 5-7.

                (6) Joel 3: 1-5

‘After this I shall pour out my spirit on all humanity. Your sons and daughters shall prophesy, your old people shall dream dreams, and your young people see visions. Even on the slaves, men and women, shall I pour out my spirit in those days. I shall show portents in the sky and on earth, blood and fire and columns of smoke.’ The sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the Day comes, that great and terrible Day. All who call on the name of Yahweh will be saved, for on Mount Zion will be those who have escaped, as Yahweh has said, and in Jerusalem a remnant whom Yahweh is calling.

                (7) Psalm 104: 1, 24, 29-31, 34

Bless Yahweh, my soul,
Yahweh, my God, how great you are!
Clothed in majesty and splendour,

How countless are your works, Yahweh,
all of them made so wisely!
The earth is full of your creatures.

Turn away your face and they panic;
take back their breath and they die
and revert to dust.
Send out your breath and life begins;
you renew the face of the earth.

Glory to Yahweh for ever!
May Yahweh find joy in his creatures!

May my musings be pleasing to him,
for Yahweh gives me joy.

                (8) Acts 2: 1-11

When Pentecost day came round, they had all met together, when suddenly there came from heaven a sound as of a violent wind which filled the entire house in which they were sitting; and there appeared to them tongues as of fire; these separated and came to rest on the head of each of them. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak different languages as the Spirit gave them power to express themselves.

Now there were devout men living in Jerusalem from every nation under heaven, and at this sound they all assembled, and each one was bewildered to hear these men speaking his own language. They were amazed and astonished. ‘Surely,’ they said, ‘all these men speaking are Galileans? How does it happen that each of us hears them in his own native language? Parthians, Medes and Elamites; people from Mesopotamia, Judaea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya round Cyrene; residents of Rome—Jews and proselytes alike—Cretans and Arabs, we hear them preaching in our own language about the marvels of God.’

                (9) 1 Corinthians 12: 3-7, 12-13

Because of that, I want to make it quite clear to you that no one who says ‘A curse on Jesus’ can be speaking in the Spirit of God, and nobody is able to say, ‘Jesus is Lord’ except in the Holy Spirit.

There are many different gifts, but it is always the same Spirit; there are many different ways of serving, but it is always the same Lord. There are many different forms of activity, but in everybody it is the same God who is at work in them all. The particular manifestation of the Spirit granted to each one is to be used for the general good.

For as with the human body which is a unity although it has many parts—all the parts of the body, though many, still making up one single body—so it is with Christ. We were baptised into one body in a single Spirit, Jews as well as Greeks, slaves as well as free men, and we were all given the same Spirit to drink.

Act of consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

"Lord Jesus, Chief Shepherd of the flock, I consecrate myself to Your most Sacred Heart. From Your pierced Heart the Church was born, the Church You have called me, as a member of Shepherds of Christ Associates, to serve in a most special way. You reveal Your Heart as a symbol of Your love in all its aspects, including Your most special love for me, whom You have chosen as Your companion in this most important work. Help me to always love You in return. Help me to give myself entirely to You. Help me always to pour out my life in love of God and neighbor! Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in You!

"Dear Blessed Virgin Mary, I consecrate myself to your maternal and Immaculate Heart, this Heart which is symbol of your life of love. You are the Mother of my Savior. You are also my Mother.

Sorrowful Mysteries

The Agony in the Garden

1.  R.  Be with Jesus as He is in the garden in the darkened night. He kneels with such sorrow in His Heart. His Heart is in deepest agony.

2.  R.  The greatest agonies that He suffered were the agonies that He experienced to His Most Sacred Heart.

3.  R.  Jesus' Heart is burning with so much love for each and every soul. Jesus saw before Him the souls that would reject Him and treat Him with such coldness, that would go through their entire life and not even think about Him.

4.  R.  Jesus saw before Him His entire Passion - all that He would suffer!

5.  R.  Jesus saw before Him His most precious loved souls that would be condemned to eternal damnation despite all of His suffering and all the love that He has for them.

6.  R.  Jesus saw before Him the endless hours that He would remain in the Tabernacle out of greatest love — in His Divinity and humanity — and how people would not have time, would not even come and be with Him.

7.  R.  Jesus calls out to us this day to realize how His Heart is burning with such intense love for us. He wants us ever closer and closer to His Most Sacred Heart.

8.  Song:  Come unto Me all who are Weary

9.  R.  Jesus' anguish was so great that His sweat became as great drops of blood on the ground.

10.  R.  Jesus Christ, the Son of God is truly present in His Divinity and humanity in the Eucharist! No less present than the day that He was in the garden.

Song between decades:  A Song from Jesus

Jesus is Scourged at the Pillar

1.  Jesus:  I love My beloved souls so dearly and how they refuse My love after all I suffered for those souls. I am the Savior. They refuse the love, the grace, I give to them.

2.  Jesus:  They beat My body! My skin that was once unmarred was covered - an open wound! They beat ever so hard with such anger and such hatred in their hearts. These men that I loved so dearly, came at Me and beat Me and I stood silently and suffered out of greatest love for you!

3.  R.  Put yourself at the Pillar! See Jesus in the dim light, tied, as they beat Him. Hear the blows! Listen! Hear Jesus as He is beaten by these men!

4.  R.  As they beat Jesus to their own exhaustion, they laughed and they called out insults. Jesus, who is the Son of God beaten for our sins! Jesus silently accepts all that they gave to Him.

5.  R.  How merciless the hearts! Darker and darker — satan creeps in.

6.  R.  Jesus stood in compliance to His Father's will and with greatest love for each and every soul. He suffered so! His greatest agonies were not the wounds that tore His flesh and made Him bleed, but His greatest agonies were the agonies to His Most Precious Heart, for love that He has for so many souls that neglect Him totally!

7.  R.  Listen and hear the blows that they give to Jesus! Listen! These are the blows that He received for the love of each and every soul! He loves all of us so much that He suffered this anguish for us all. How can we not love our brother when we hear the blows that they gave to Jesus' back because He loved our brother?

8.  R.  Jesus is with us today. God created our brother. Jesus died for our brother. Jesus remains with us truly present in the Tabernacle. Jesus is here in this room, the same Jesus that they tied to the pillar, that they whipped, that His blood ran over His body! See Him tied to the pillar! Do we realize that the Son of God, Jesus Christ, is in this room in the Tabernacle and remains here out of greatest love for each one of us. Jesus wants us to open up our hearts more and more to the realization of His presence. He is truly present in the Tabernacle.

9.  R.  The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit dwell in us in a special way when we are baptized and in the state of grace. We are not alone.

10.  R.  Such love He has for us that He stood and suffered the beatings at the pillar. But His love is burning at every second as we breathe and as our hearts beat. His love is a roaring furnace. These are just words to describe the love that He has for us; there really are no words to describe this love. As we breathe, whether we think about Jesus or not, He loves us with this burning love!

Song between decades:  A Song from Jesus

Jesus is Crowned with a Crown of Thorns

1.  R.  Do we realize, even minutely, the love that Jesus had that He suffered, truly suffered, as we meditate on His Passion!

2.  R.  Dear Holy Spirit, open up our eyes. Help us to see more and more with your vision.

3.  R.  We see our brother! We see the Tabernacle! Do we realize that Jesus is truly present, the Son of God, in the Tabernacle? We see so little in front of our face. We see those things with our eyes that are visible. But do we realize that this is His world? The reality is that our every breath is dependent upon Him. Dear Holy Spirit give us vision to see more and more insight into your hidden Mysteries. Give us Your grace to help us grow in greater love and knowledge of You. Fill our hearts so that we may be drawn ever closer through this Passion to the Most Sacred, Burning Heart of Jesus!

4.  R.  Jesus was covered with wounds from His head to His feet. They pounded on His head a sharp crown of piercing thorns. Think of how it is to have a little splinter in your finger, but the thorns punctured His head all the way around!

5.  R.  Holes all the way around His head! The blood ran down His face into His eyes and into His ears. On top of His wounds, they covered Him with a cloak that stuck to His wounds. They gave to Him a scepter and said: "Hail King!" Jesus sat silently. The King of all Kings! The Son of God! God, The Father, Who sent His only begotten Son into this world out of greatest love for each of us. Jesus, God made man! God became a man. He loves each one of us so much. Jesus was spit on! Jesus was mocked! Jesus was hit! He calls out to us to love our brothers.

6.  R.  Jesus came to show us how to love. When they persecuted Him, when they hit Him, He loved those men who treated Him so cruelly. He came to show us the way, the way to love. Today He asks us to spread His love throughout the world, to become His soldiers, to give to this world His burning love!

7.  R.  Jesus asks so little of us, but He gave so much for us!

8.  R.  With such anger and hatred in their hearts, they crowned Jesus with a crown of thorns. Can you think of doing that to another human? Pounding thorns into their head!

9.  R.  Jesus suffered such terrible treatment. Jesus loved those who did this to Him. Think of how it is when someone you love treats you with such cruelty. Jesus came to show us the way. Despite all that they did to Him, He always loved. He is love! His way is love! If we are to be likened to Him, if we are to be more like God, we must forgive and love!

10.  R.  Jesus greatest agonies were not the agonies that He suffered from His physical wounds but the agonies that He suffered to His Heart, for the hot and cold souls, and for all the souls that do not think of Him this day. As He suffered for these souls, He was comforted during His Passion by the love that we show to Him this day.

Song between decades:  A Song from Jesus

Jesus Carries His Cross

1.  Sing song:  Your Presence Pervades My Soul

R.    Open your heart! Let Jesus penetrate every inch of your soul!

2.  R.    Possess our soul! Permeate our being! Fill us! Fill us with Your love that we may go out into this world and spread this love in the dark corners. Let Your light shine through us in this world to light up the dark corners. Help us to be soldiers of Your Love. Fill our hearts with Your grace and Your love. Come to us Holy Spirit and transform us from fear to fearlessness. Help us to see. Jesus carried His cross on His back out of greatest love for each one of us. He held His cross tightly. He carried it and He did not give it up. He collapsed because the weight was so heavy on His back. Can we not answer the call that He calls out to us tonight to be strong soldiers and to march into this world to spread His light and His love as He provides us with His love, His strength?

3.  R.    Jesus stood with His hands tied and the men that were by Him, with such hatred and anger on their faces, poked at Jesus with spears. Jesus, had a look of perfect peace on His face while they poked at Him because He knew the Father's love. Help us to know more and more the Father's love for us. Jesus lead us ever closer to Your Father as we grow in greater likeness of You. Holy Spirit transform us into this likeness so that we can be closer to the Father.

4.  R.    Jesus carried His cross. It was so heavy that He could hardly carry it! His Mother stood by and she watched! Mary watched her beloved Son that she once carried, that she once cared for. A mother in every way! She loved her Son so dearly but could not reach out, could not help Him! Her heart was torn so deeply within her chest to see Him covered with blood, with His cross on His back. She calls out to us this day: As I saw my Son suffer for love of you, can you not spread this love throughout the world?

5.  R.    Their eyes peered into each other's eyes! The Son into His Mother's eyes! Mary's face reddened with tears. She was weak from all her crying. She had endured such mental anguish watching this horrid course of events her Son had undergone, and now Jesus looked into the eyes of His Mother as she suffers. She looks into His eyes and sees Him covered with blood and with a crown of piercing thorns on His head and a heavy cross on His back. In that look is depth of love between their two Hearts!

6.  Song:  See the Eyes that Look at Mary

7.  Song:  Little Baby Hands and Feet

8.  R.    See through the eyes of Mary as she looks at Jesus and see her this day as she comes to tell us to look through her eyes and see her Son as He suffered for each one of us. He loved us so much that He gave His all!

9.  R.    Can you refuse Mary's call this day as she calls out to you to be a special apostle to spread Jesus' love throughout this world? Mary asks you to live your life and be an apostle to His Most Sacred Heart. Mary is forever by your side she will lead you on your way, will guard you, will protect you in her Immaculate Heart and will take you ever closer to the inner recesses of His Most Sacred Heart. She begs you and asks you to please see the souls that Jesus loved so dearly. See the souls that will be lost for not hearing of His love. The little things that seem so small that you do to spread His love can be things that really help.

10.  R.    If He suffered as He did all through the Passion for love of each one of us, how can we say no to His Mother and our Mother when she asks us this day to please answer her call to be an apostle to spread the love of His Heart throughout this world?

Song between decades:  A Song from Jesus

Jesus is Crucified and Dies on the Cross

1.  R.    Mary held His little hands and His little feet as a child and now she sees as they pound His hands and feet into the cross!

2.  Song:  See the Eyes that Look at Mary

3.  R.    There are no words to describe the pain and anguish to Mary's heart as she stood under the cross and watched her Son as He hung for three agonizing hours to His death! The pain was so immense, though she did not have any wounds!

4.  R.    Jesus gave His flesh! Jesus gave His blood! They punctured Jesus' head! They put nails into Jesus' hands, into His feet! Jesus gave His all - all the blood inside of His body!

5.  R.    Dear Holy Spirit, please open up our eyes to see more and more the mystery of the Incarnation.

6.  R.    As Jesus gave Himself on the cross, He gives Himself to us this day in the Eucharist and we take it so lightly. Jesus is truly God!

7.  R.    If God would remove the veil from the Tabernacle, we would see such radiance. Jesus is truly God and He is in this room with us this day with such love and longing for us to be ever closer to Him. Realize that Jesus died on the cross for greatest love of us!

8.  Song:  Lord let me Walk

9.  R.    They gave to Mary His lifeless body! As Mary held the child Jesus in her arms with such tender loving care, she received His body. He is lifeless! Jesus had not a breath in His body. Mary's tears drip on His body weak and pale, covered with blood and wounds!

10.  Song:  At the Cross her Station keeping

Song between decades:  A Song from Jesus

The Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary

1.  The Prophecy of Simeon.   R.  Mary and Joseph took the child Jesus to the Temple and they were met by the prophet Simeon. He was an old man and the Holy Spirit told him that before He died, he would see the Messiah. The Holy Spirit led him into the Temple and he saw the child Jesus and held Him in his arms. He said that now he was ready to die. Then he told Mary and Joseph of the sufferings that would befall Jesus and Mary. From that point on whenever Mary looked at her beloved child, she remembered the prophecy of Simeon when she saw Him at play, when she clothed Him, when she saw Him all through His life! Her heart was pierced with a sword to know of the immense sufferings that were to come. A sword, too, shall pierce your heart, O Mary!

 2.  The Flight into Egypt.   R.  Joseph and Mary were forced to flee in the night to Egypt with the child Jesus.

 3.  Jesus was lost in the Temple.   R.  When Jesus was twelve years old, He was taken up to the Temple for the feast of the Passover. When it was over Joseph and Mary left with the caravan and left Jesus behind. With their hearts in such sorrowing, they returned to the temple in search of the child Jesus. And a sword, too, shall pierce your heart, O Mary!

 4.  Jesus and Mary meet on the Way to the Cross.   R.  Their eyes peer into one another's eyes on Calvary. In that peering look is such intimacy between the two Hearts. Her heart was pierced with an invisible sword! His Heart was pierced with a lance! Such love! They suffered for love of us! A sword, too, shall pierce your heart, O Mary!

 5.  Jesus Died on the Cross and Mary stands beneath the cross.   Jesus:  I call out to you to be soldiers to spread the love that I have for you to this world for I truly gave My life for you! Will you answer this call? See My Mother as she stood under the cross. Her face with tears, with such love for you! This is your Mother! She calls to you. I call to you to be soldiers of My love to a world that is in such pain and that is hurting! One soldier fixed to the love of God can move a mountain! Will you be the soldier that answers My call? As I pour out to you such abundant grace, as I fill you with fearlessness to march on this world in which many do not believe in God. I cry out to you this day from the depths of My Sacred Heart to go into battle with your hearts filled with My love. I love you so dearly that I died for you. Can you not do this for Me?

 6.  Mary under the Cross received the lifeless Body of her Son.   R.  She had suffered so much agony all through the Passion. Now she stood under the cross held up by her beloved John. Now the final curtain! She is handed the lifeless body of her beloved Son in her arms as she held the child Jesus when Simeon said to her — and a sword, too, shall pierce your heart, O Mary! The final curtain was that she held His lifeless, limp body covered with blood and she calls out to you this day to spread the love of her Son throughout this world. You are truly being called as soldiers going into battle filled with the might of the Almighty God. She is counting on you. You were called here this evening. Called by me, called by Jesus to hear this plea. This world is in such pain. This world has forgotten God. Souls will be lost. Do not turn the other way but realize that the knowledge about the love of God you spread to the world today is so important. Souls will eventually go to Heaven or to hell. Spread these revelations. God is giving such strength and such grace to answer this call. Can you say no? See Mary as she held the lifeless body of her Son in her arms. See her face reddened with tears, ridges from the deep crying. No words can express the anguish that she suffered to her heart.

 7.  Jesus is Locked in the Tomb.   R.  The cold reality that He is now dead! Mary weeps outside. But death has no power over Jesus for on the third day Jesus rose to bring us new life!! A sword, too, shall pierce your heart, O Mary.

Song:  I Love You Jesus

Song:  Come Holy Spirit

R.  The Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles and transformed them from fear into fearlessness, come to us O Holy Spirit fill us with Your grace. Fill us with the fire of Your love so that we may know God's burning love and carry this fire, this vibrancy of God's love to a hurting world. Help us spread the Gospel message that Jesus has died, He is risen and that He loves this world this day! Help us to be loving. Help us to be one in You.

Galatians 2: 19-20

I have been crucified with Christ and yet I am alive; yet it is no longer I, but Christ living in me. The life that I am now living, subject to the limitation of human nature, I am living in faith, faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me.

R.  Work in us O God!

This rosary was prayed before Jesus in the Tabernacle in the Holy Spirit Chapel. Rita, Joe, Cathy, Marty and 6 people who came from the Dayton, Ohio area.

Guiding Light - Reflect on the Word
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Litugical Year (2011/2012)
$ 10.00

Guiding Light homily series — Reflect on the Word — Cycle B     The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand. $15

Guiding Light - Steadfast to the Son
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle A of the Litugical Year
$ 10.00

Guiding Light homily series — Steadfast to the Son — Cycle A    The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $15

Guiding Light - Focusing on the Word
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Litugical Year
$ 10.00

Guiding Light — Focusing on the Word — Cycle B    At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $15

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle C of the Litugical Year
$ 10.00

Guiding Light — Feed My Soul — Cycle C    In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $15

Priestly Newsletter — 2000 #1 — CD.Christ is Our Strength — Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. read it the year he died. It is so beautiful. "This brief passage contains one of the greatest lessons of the spiritual life. As we progress along our spiritual journey, we become increasingly aware of how weak we are in our—selves, but how strong we are in Christ. To experience our weakness involves suffering. The degree and kind of suffering can vary. The suffering can include the experience of the classical dark night of the spirit as described by St. John of the Cross. One of the main purposes of the dark night is to make a person keenly aware of his or her helplessness without God." quote by Fr. Carter from the newsletter $10

Shepherds of Christ Prayer Manual. The Shepherds of Christ has prayer chapters all over the world praying for the priests, the Church and the world. These prayers that Father Carter compiled in the summer of 1994 began this worldwide network of prayer. Currently the prayers are in eight languages with the Church’s Imprimatur. We have prayed daily for the priests, the Church, and the world since 1994. Associates are called to join prayer Chapters and help us circulate the newsletter centered on spreading devotion to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and helping to renew the Church through greater holiness. Please form a Prayer Chapter & order a Prayer Manual.
