                R. Happy the man who trusts in the Lord –

                Blessed are they who follow Jesus –

                Blessed the man who loves the Word and
                    the commandments of God –

                He will bear fruit for God's Kingdom –

                He will be a fruitful vine –
 

John 11: 25-26

Jesus said:

I am the resurrection.
Anyone who believes in me,
   even though that person dies, will live,
and whoever lives and believes in me
will never die.
Do you believe this?

                R. We are required to do penance and always
                being trying to grow more and more
                in the spiritual life. God has
                given us the Shepherds of Christ to help renew
                the Church and the world.

                    We are to practice self-denial,
                we are to be imitators of Christ,
                God is love and in Him is no
                darkness –
 

                R. God loves us so much – He wants
                us to be happy – Sin causes
                unhappiness – We have a wounded
                human nature.

                    God created an orderly world and
                Adam and Eve sinned – Disorder
                and sin entered the world. God
                created a beautiful, peaceful,
                loving, harmonious, good and
                orderly world – without sin,
                without evil, without violence –

                    There was not disease and disorder
                in the world when God created the
                world – God gave us a beautiful world
                that reflected His love for us –
                There was not division or war.

                    The human nature is wounded
                because of original sin.  – Sin upsets
                the order that God wanted –

                    We have to suffer because
                Adam and Eve offended God –

                    We are to show God we want
                His will and we cooperate with the
                gifts God gives us.

                    Satan tempted Eve and she gave in –
                She wanted to be equal to God –

                    Satan does this to people today –
                He wants to use them to promote evil
                in the world – to disobey God – to
                oppose God –

                    Instead we are to show God, as
                Adam and Eve's descendants we obey His will –
                we cooperate in love in the building
                of His Kingdom –

                    Our life is a test –

                    Like Abraham was tested –

                    Noah found favor with God –

                    We can operate in order, and
                be responsible to God, accountable
                for our deeds – obey the Divine will –
                or we can give into disorder, evil
                and reject the Divine Will.

                R. Our human nature is out of order
                because of original sin. There is a struggle
                of the sense appetites with reason and will.
                What would have been perfect harmony
                in man because of concupiscence
                becomes a disordered human nature.

                R. This disorder in our soul gives us a
                tendency to sin –

                    God gave Adam so many gifts and Adam
                and Eve disobeyed God. God is Just.
                Adam and Eve offended God – they were
                gifted by Him and they chose to
                disobey Him.

                    When we commit the deadly sins
                it can lead to committing other sins.
                They are also called capital sins –

                    When a man is jealous and he gives into
                this jealousy it can very easily lead him
                to do more evil because of it. Because
                he is a prideful man, he may sin more
                because of his pride. What else does
                he do so he has power over others.
                What else does he do to be on top of
                others because of pride. That is why
                the sins are called capital sins because
                once a man gives into his wounded
                human nature in a capital sin it
                can move him to more evil, more bad habits
                because he is prideful, or envious, or
                angry, or jealous etc.

                    The seven capital or deadly sins are
                pride, anger, jealousy, envy, slothfulness,
                gluttony and lust.

                    Pride leads a man to put himself
                before others and God because he
                sees himself that way. If he is proud
                a man will lie to keep himself
                above others. The evil of giving into pride
                moves the man to other evils.

                    A man of lust and gluttony gives into
                his sense appetites over reason
                and will.

                    A man of envy wants to bring
                the righteous man down because
                he sees him as an enemy to himself
                looking good. The attitude in his heart
                toward his brother is disordered and
                dark. He can be revengeful and hateful
                because he is envious, he can plot
                to bring his brother down – try to give
                him misfortune because he is
                disordered in his envy of a man serving
                God and doing God's will. This envy
                is a capital sin because it can
                lead a man to more evil and sin –
                He can lie, cheat, set a trap to
                hurt another brother because of his
                envy – this can further lead to more
                lies and anger if his plan is uncovered –
                etc. – etc. –

                    An angry man wants to bring down
                on his brother some ill deed to hurt
                him because he is the source of this
                anger the man thinks. An angry man can
                clutch, nurse, hold onto anger continually
                over a period of time and his
                anger be the reason he tries to
                stop God's plan. A man of anger
                against an innocent brother can
                punish the righteous person because
                his anger becomes a pleasure to
                him, a power he loves, a way he
                spends his days – giving into the
                anger – day after day – living in
                darkness. This is the capital sin
                of anger because it leads to more
                evil, lies, treating one's brother as
                an enemy and he gives into them too
                because of his anger – the anger
                is more important to him than anything
                and he gives himself the right to
                continue sinning, if he chooses,
                because his anger becomes the goal
                and acting it out.

                    Being more and more as God wants,
                being likened to God helps a man
                to have joy in his heart – the man
                serving God – being more intimate
                with his union with God is a
                happy man –

                    A man in darkness moves himself through
                his sin further and further from God and
                this injustice he serves on himself
                makes him angrier and angrier as
                he grows in greater and greater darkness –

                    Evil sins such as these become
                bad habits where by it is easy
                for a man to give in more and
                more to the capital sins and thus
                lead them into deeper and deeper
                darkness and it is easy for them to
                commit more sins because of their
                pride and anger and jealousy and
                envy, lust and gluttony.
                A man over time can stay angry –
                project their anger on an innocent
                other, disobey God's will day after
                day after day – to live in a state
                of anger and sin. The anger – he
                thinks wrongfully – is
                reason to commit sin after sin after
                sin because he can think, wrongfully,
                he has the right to clutch, to nurse,
                to act, to punish, to do as he
                pleases – lie, hold out, disobey
                the law of love – and he reasons
                wrongfully he can give into these
                sins because he is angry. His god
                becomes serving his anger –

                    God gives us reason and will. We
                are to have the will to love God and
                love our brothers as ourselves. What
                we do to others we do to Jesus.

                    The man in sin can make himself
                unaccountable and irresponsible
                while he listens to the counsel of
                satan who tempts him to live
                in anger, to blame others, to treat
                his brothers he is to love, as enemies
                he has the right to hurt, lie to,
                discredit etc. No wonder he doesn't
                feel good when this is his goal as
                he moves further and further
                from God – disobeying God's will
                to love Him and love his neighbor
                as himself– day after day after day.

                    Slothfulness is laziness in working
                to help one's spiritual life grow. A
                slothful man neglects his spiritual
                welfare.

                A slothful man often argues if he didn't
                    do what he was supposed to he
                    didn't sin. Bishop Sheen gave a
                    talk on choices – to not do what
                    we are supposed to do is an action
                    and is wrong – We can sin by
                    omission say "Oh I didn't know"
                    or try to sabotage the event by
                    lying and trying to make something
                    break so we can say – "oh, it
                    doesn't work, I couldn't do it".
                    deliberately breaking something to stop
                    what God wants, lying - is evil.

                    God intends us to co-operate with
                one another in love in the building
                of His Kingdom – He wants us working
                together to accomplish the task in
                a reasonable time –

                    A person holding out needed
                information that he is to give to another
                to sabotage what God wants to help
                souls grow is wrong. Holding out
                with malice of intent – when one is
                called in an office of power to
                serve and assist and work to
                produce desired effects – is wrong.
                Using power in a position of authority
                to incur evil and darkness is
                really wrong. Using one's position
                to act out pride and anger or
                punish innocent others and sabotage
                God's work is sinful.

                    We have a free will to do God's will
                or disobey God's will. We can choose
                to do good or evil. A man with
                a weak or diseased will can be
                tempted to sin over and over again –
                then lie and cheat to cover it up
                or to do further evil.

                    Happiness comes in serving God –
                in being close to God, in loving
                God and our brothers as ourselves –

                    Happiness is in God – doing God's
                will in love –

                    The devil can tempt a man, but man with
                his free will chooses to sin. We
                personally give into sin when we sin.
                We make ourselves unhappy by
                sinning – it is against God's will
                to choose sin over doing good and
                what God wants of us –

                    God gives us a sharing in Divine life
                in baptism and He puts His handprint
                on us. We receive the virtues of
                faith, hope and love – We are to live
                a virtuous life.

                    Praying the Holy Spirit Novena twice
                a day and begging God the Holy Spirit to
                come into our hearts and fill us with
                Himself, the fire of His love –
                His gifts – Wisdom, Understanding,
                Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge,
                Piety and Fear of the Lord,
                can help us to grow more and
                more spiritually. Spending an
                hour before the Blessed Sacrament
                in adoration with God, Daily Mass
                helps fill us with grace to live
                more and more deeply in Him.
                God has given us the program
                to help us grow spiritually –
                He gives us the Mass – Adoration –
                the Shepherds of Christ Prayers, Holy
                Spirit Prayers – the Rosary – Consecration
                to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart.

                How offensive it is to God for a
                    religious with authority to use their position
                    and power to inure others who they are
                    over.
                    To reject God's will and to bring
                        in evil in a place meant for
                        renewal and love – to build
                        and unite –

                    Not tear down and divide
                    Religious hypocrisy –
