Revelation 3: 20
Look, I am standing at the door, knocking. If one of you hears me calling and opens the door, I will come in to share a meal at that person’s side.
R. Here we see man with his free
will can lock the door from
the inside, Bishop Sheen says.
The latch can be bolted and
the man keep the truth he needs
to look at hidden. The knock he
says is an inspiration, a thought.
The Holy Spirit comes when we pray for
healing to help us get rid of wounds
inside. God may give us a tremendous
grace to look at ourselves.
I had a dream to see myself and how
I looked. When I woke I said "Oh
God, I am sorry", but I need the
grace to change stubborn habits.
Jesus says: You can lock your door
from the inside and satan will
tell you, you do not need to
change –
Satan wants a pit of darkness
inside, bitter hearts, pride,
so you spend your days ignoring
My inspirations.
I stand at the door and knock,
but is your door latched inside,
with a mask on the outside, that
keeps you enveloped in wounds that
need to be healed. You can resist
My healing touch, My Heart of love –
open your heart to the TRUTH
and be set free.
Pray for those who persecute you,
for the rain, rains on the good
and bad and the sun shines
on the lighted and dark hearts.
Those soft and supple to My
Heart - open, for My entry,
will know peace and joy and grow.
The withered fig will not be pruned
for a thousand years – each day is
precious in the eyes of the Lord and
a gift from God.
A gift to open and say
"Create in me a clean heart,
Oh God"
Lent is a time to open the closed
door to the truth, to do the
spring cleaning and prepare
for Easter.
Some may clean –
Others may hide the things
that should be disposed
of –
I am the way, the truth and the life –

R. God created us for love –
Relationship with God – with others
with ourselves –
God gave us a family to learn about
relationship – He has it set
so a child comes from a father and
mother –
God has it so, that, then we must learn
to relate to another family system
to marry –
Children are a blessing from living
in relationship with God
as Creator,
Man and woman – parents of a child
co-creator –
God wants unity –
We see the rupture of relationships,
not as God intended, in the family.
The love God intended in marriage
only between man and woman
has turned to immorality and for
sexual pleasures. This has threatened
the basic family unit.
Every message I have gotten is toward loving
according to God's will –
Being in one mind and one heart in the
Hearts of the New Adam and New Eve.
Being in the will of God in love brings
unity - not division.
The sin of Adam and Eve brought disorder,
disharmony,
Romans 8: 5-9
Those who are living by their natural inclinations have their minds on the things human nature desires; those who live in the Spirit have their minds on spiritual things. And human nature has nothing to look forward to but death, while the Spirit looks forward to life and peace, because the outlook of disordered human nature is opposed to God, since it does not submit to God's Law, and indeed it cannot, and those who live by their natural inclinations can never be pleasing to God. You, however, live not by your natural inclinations, but by the Spirit, since the Spirit of God has made a home in you. Indeed, anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.
R. God told
men and women to increase and multiply –
Jesus gave us the Gospel to know about
Covenant Love – Commitment,
relationship –
The Church is the Spouse of Christ
he compares this to the love a
man has for his wife –
Ephesians 5: 21-33
Be subject to one another out of reverence for Christ. Wives should be subject to their husbands as to the Lord, since, as Christ is head of the Church and saves the whole body, so is a husband the head of his wife; and as the Church is subject to Christ, so should wives be to their husbands, in everything. Husbands should love their wives, just as Christ loved the Church and sacrificed himself for her to make her holy by washing her in cleansing water with a form of words, so that when he took the Church to himself she would be glorious, with no speck or wrinkle or anything like that, but holy and faultless. In the same way, husbands must love their wives as they love their own bodies; for a man to love his wife is for him to love himself. A man never hates his own body, but he feeds it and looks after it; and that is the way Christ treats the Church, because we are parts of his Body. This is why a man leaves his father and mother and becomes attached to his wife, and the two become one flesh. This mystery has great significance, but I am applying it to Christ and the Church. To sum up: you also, each one of you, must love his wife as he loves himself; and let every wife respect her husband.
R. We see the devil works on vocations
commitment to marriage
commitment to religious life
It is God's will we live in relationships –
we are to walk hand-in-hand –
First in the family –
Then to branch out – relationships with others.
The core is the family –
Babies need care –
God made it that way –
It is God's Plan the family care for the child
they bring into the world.
Babies can't care for themselves.
The first bonds of love are taught
in the family –
The devil has attacked commitment, vocations.
The family unit suffers from forces
on the outside –
The sports, an individual mentality,
are influences against the family.
I will tell the frog story –
If a frog is put in boiling water
he will jump out –
However if he is put in warm
water and it is heated slowly to boiling he will
stay in and die –
Does the State, the Government encourage
family programs?
The market place presses on the family to
work to consume products –
More and more technology focuses on
the individualistic mentality of
getting ahead – proving oneself
in competition to others –
not working for unity in one's
unique role and purpose given by God to
help build the Kingdom of God –
Because of imperfections, dysfunctions
in the family tree –
God has asked us, this month to pray for
healing of these relationships
damaged by the relationships
of the family tree –
We see how God formed His people
in the Old Testament – How he called
leaders Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph,
Moses and it was their lives
given in faith that formed God's people,
their love and faithfulness to the
one true God –
Christ came and gave us the Church,
the body of Christ –
The Body of Christ – so united as a
body with Christ the head –
We are given the sacraments –
Through His pierced Heart the Church was
born.
Blood and water came forth –
Water a symbol of baptism – in which we
receive a sharing in His life –
Blood for the Eucharist, by which He
feeds this life –
Confession to keep our souls clean –
Confirmation to strengthen us –
Marriage – for a man and woman to
give themselves in love to
each other and God and to
propagate the earth –
the basic family unit –
like a little Church –
Ephesians 5: 21-33
Be subject to one another out of reverence for Christ. Wives should be subject to their husbands as to the Lord, since, as Christ is head of the Church and saves the whole body, so is a husband the head of his wife; and as the Church is subject to Christ, so should wives be to their husbands, in everything. 1 Corinthians 3: 9-13, 16-17
After all, we do share in God’s work; you are God’s farm, God’s building.
By the grace of God which was given to me, I laid the foundations like a trained master–builder, and someone else is building on them. Now each one must be careful how he does the building. For nobody can lay down any other foundation than the one which is there already, namely Jesus Christ. On this foundation, different people may build in gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay or straw but each person’s handiwork will be shown for what it is. The Day which dawns in fire will make it clear and the fire itself will test the quality of each person’s work.
Do you not realise that you are a temple of God with the Spirit of God living in you? If anybody should destroy the temple of God, God will destroy that person, because God’s temple is holy; and you are that temple.
R. But the
devil can attack the
Church, the family, the schools –
The devil can attack commitment
to one's vocation –
Vocation is a calling from God –
in which the person says
"yes" to God - like
Mary said "yes" –
Mary the perfect handmaid of
the Lord –
Mary said "yes" to everything
that was God's will –
Mary lived God's will –
Mary the New Eve –
Eve wanted her will – Eve wanted to be
equal to God – Eve was doing her will,
focused on herself – full of pride!
Mary lived by the Father's Plan,
Mary did all God called her to do –
Mary is our model –
Relationship –
We are to be open to God
Excerpt from Response in Christ by Fr. Edward Carter, S.J.
e) Relationship with Members of the Church
There is but one true Church of Christ. Yet this one Church has three different states of existence. There is the pilgrim Church, the Church of this world, composed of members who have received the grace of Christ and strive for its development. They have not yet obtained the goal of their efforts, as have the members of the heavenly Church, who enjoy God in eternal happiness. The Church suffering is an intermediate state of existence necessary for those who had not achieved the required purification as members of the pilgrim Church. Although there are these three phases of the Church’s existence, there is a profound union existing between all the members. All these members possess the same basic life of grace in Christ, and this common life establishes the most intimate bonds of love. In our preceding chapter, we discussed the pilgrim Church. Let us now consider the Church suffering and the heavenly Church.
The members of the Church suffering are those who have departed from this life in an incomplete state of Christian development. Their development is incomplete in the sense that grace has not fully taken possession of them, and, as a result, they are yet closed in upon themselves to a greater or lesser degree. They as yet cannot open themselves out in complete love to the Triune God in the beatific vision. They must undergo a further purification, a purification which could have been achieved upon earth with merit. Now the purification must be achieved with no merit attached. The pain of this purification is mixed with the certain expectation of achieving the vision of God. We can hasten the advent of this vision for this people by the offering of prayers and other good works. Scripture itself refers to our action on behalf of those in purgatory in Chapter 12 of the Second Book of Maccabees beginning with verse 38.
The members of the heavenly Church are those in whom the life of grace has taken full possession and has reached its completion in the life of glory. Faith now is unnecessary, as the light of glory gives the human intellect a new strength and capacity for seeing God face-to-face. While the Christian was a wayfarer, he received the imprint of the indwelling Trinity as he shared in God’s own life. Now in heaven that grace-life and possession of God reaches its completion—the absolute completion is not achieved, however, until the resurrection of the body. The divine persons give Themselves to the beatified in a profound union far surpassing that of the indwelling of the Trinity experienced here below.
This life of heaven is still the Christ-life, for just as we possess a share in Trinitarian life here below as mediated by Christ, and exercise this grace-life as structured by Him, so also in heaven is the mediation of Christ present. In the words of Rahner, "One always sees the Father through Jesus. Just as immediately as this, for the directness of the vision of God is not a denial of the mediatorship of Christ as man."14 And not only does the humanity of Christ unite the blessed to God, but also, in some way, to the whole of creation. This is merely a completion of what is begun here below, namely, the union with Christ in His humanity establishing the Christian in a special relationship with God, with other men, and with the whole of creation. We have a glimpse, therefore, of the fullness of life which members of the heavenly Church possess.
The heavenly Church, as St. Thomas says, is the true Church.15 The Church of this earth and the Church of purgatory are, each in its own way, reaching out in loving hope for the heavenly Jerusalem. Vatican II puts it very simply: "The Church, to which we are called in Christ Jesus, and in which we acquire sanctity through the grace of God, will attain her full perfection only in the glory of heaven."16
The members of the heavenly Church can help us in living our life of grace until we too share its fullness with them. Their power of intercession on our behalf is but another ramification of the communal aspect of Christianity. We are meant to help others grow in Christ. We, in turn, are intended by God to receive aid from others—yes, from members of the heavenly Church, as well as from those with whom we dwell here below.
Not only can we be aided by the saints’ intercession, but the example of the canonized saints can also be of great value to us. They have concretely proved that full holiness is possible. Such an inspiration is of real worth when we are tempted to think that Christian sanctity in its higher degrees is impossible of attainment. Moreover, the canonized saints, in their diversity, teach us that there are many authentic versions of Christian holiness. They can be innovators in showing us that there are numerous possibilities in assimilating the mystery of Christ, although the basic assimilation remains the same for all Christians of all times. In the opinion of Rahner this is one of the chief roles the canonized saints exert in the life of the Church.17

R. Our whole
life is to learn to love –
not promote ourselves –
Because of wounding in the family –
with dysfunction – imperfect
parents, brothers, sisters –
we have wounds in relationships
concerning love, truth –
We are to reach full Christian maturity
in Christ –
We must open ourselves to His will
for our lives –
We want to be in His will –
In His will we are happy –
In His will we are as the Father
uniquely intended us to be –
We are in need of healing –
The very thing we need to heal from the
devil gets in and tries to tell us
we are perfect, be prideful,
don't let anybody tell you
anything – so we are like
a soul in stagnant waters –
We can hold onto vices, jealousies,
prideful habits, envy, anger
(suppressed and known) slothfulness,
lust, gluttony that block spiritual
growth.
We are here to grow – we change all day
in our lives.
Being stuck in a stagnant bucket, thinking
we have arrived is working against
the Plan of the Father for us to
reach full Christian maturity.
Trying to prove we know-it-all
is the mentality of one whose
purpose in life is to show
men, they are something they are
not.
The gifts we have, the talents are
gifts from God, why should
we boast as if we acquired
them for our own recognition.
1 Corinthians 4: 7-8
Who made you so important? What have you got that was not given to you? And if it was given to you, why are you boasting as though it were your own? You already have everything—you are rich already—you have come into your kingdom, without any help from us! Well, I wish you were kings and we could be kings with you!
R. Love is a
theological virtue,
if we are loving it is
because he has given us the
grace to be a great lover
even though we co-operate with
His grace – we must thank Him
for the gift He has given us.
We can be foolish, focusing our whole
life on ourselves and trying to
prove to men – we are great –
We are great – God created us and He has
a plan – instead of focusing
on our glory – get off the
throne and give the glory to God –
live in His Plan –
Satan is a manipulator, satan works on
our weaknesses – pride, seeing ourselves
through distorted vision because we
listen to him. We are in need of
throwing our masks away and facing
our weaknesses so we can grow in
the image and likeness of Christ, like
we were created to be. To focus
our lives on the truth about our
weaknesses and praying for the healing,
praying for healing of the Family
tree.
Division in our hearts is opposed to
the Father's Plan for us.

God Calls Us to Love
John 13:34
I give you a new commandment: love one another; you must love one another just as I have loved you.
Matthew 7:7
Ask, and it will be given to you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.
Messenger:
Dear Jesus, I stand at the door of Your Heart and knock to come in. I want entry - to be lost totally and entirely in Thee. I want to be sheltered inside of Your Heart and wrapped deeply in Your infinite love.Jesus:
I call you, child, to love. Love is rooted in Me. I gave My all for love of you. I held nothing back. Love gives freely for the good of the other. Love exists to draw the other closer to God. If your relationship with your brother in anyway separates you from God, it is not love.Love is not haughty, love does not demand its own way, love exists to lead the other to closer union with Me. I loved you to My death. I gave to you My all! I ask you to give your all for your beloved brothers. In loving them, you are loving Me. I live in your brothers. How can you love Me who you do not see, if you do not love your brother who you see.
I am the way. I am the truth. I am the life. I give that you will know Me and know how to love one another. Love your brothers as I have loved you. When they persecute you and holler every evil word against you, love them. This is My way - to lay down My life for My friends.
John 13:34
I give you a new commandment: love one another; you must love one another just as I have loved you.
Messenger:
And to those who heeded His words, their lives were lived in peace and love and they experienced joy in their hearts, for true love brings peace and true love gives joy to the heart of the beholder. It is in loving that you receive, it is in giving that you are rendered to and it is in following the way of Christ that we are led into a life of everlasting happiness.Jesus:
I have not gone. I live with you this day. I am in your brothers. Love them as I have loved you.Messenger:
And He sent them such blessings in such abundance and they knew a little of His unending mercy and love.

I Feed the Hungry Soul
Jesus:
Another person cannot feed your hungry soul. You search, you seek. Your starved soul craves only that which I can give. When your heart is searching for love, come, My sweet dear child, into My Heart. My Mother will take you to the deepest recesses of My Heart. There you will know such comfort - in My Heart on fire for love of you this day.You are a child of dignity. You are precious to Me. You are the creation of the Father. I gave the last drop of My blood for you. This is love - you need grace to realize the immenseness of God's love. You are so special to God, all three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Mary loves you so much.
You can never be satisfied on this earth. If you find the dearest mother, father, lover, friend, they will not fill you with the love your soul craves. To find Me is to seek Me. You will not be satisfied on this earth.
You, My child, experience longing for My intense love. I love you to want Me. This is how I long for love of each precious soul. I long for them with the most tender Heart, beating and breathing with fire. I never falter. I never grow dim. I am the same, with the same burning love. Come to Me and jump into My precious Heart. I love you so much.
October 2, 1994
You Are the Father’s Creation
Jesus:
I come to you in one another. Let not your hearts be hard, let your hearts be as little children, tender and pure. They do not hold grudges, they love each other, they love themselves. You are the creation of My beloved Father. You were created with such dignity and love. I died for you. I gave My life that you would share My life. Oh, My child, pray to the Holy Spirit to open your eyes, to let you see where you are blind, to open your hearts to the ways of God. Pray to Him to sanctify you.
You are called to be Christ to one another. Your hearts have turned hard. Your ways are not My ways. My way is always to love. My ways are to give. My ways are to see in your brother the creation of the Father, so beautiful, so uniquely created.
Each child is a gift from God to this world. Each child is a gift of unique love, given by the Father. You were uniquely created. You are so loved. Pray to know your specialness to God. It is in realizing His love for you that you will love your brothers.
Messenger:
We are all brothers in Christ. God is our Father. We are all one.Jesus:
Join, My little ones, in such love. It is in loving that you will be at peace. Love of each other creates joy in your hearts. Pray for the grace to know and love God more. It is in this knowledge and God's love that you will be My light that shines in the darkest night.I am the Way, I am the Truth. I am the Life! To live in Me you must come to know and love Me. Follow My ways. My ways are the ways of truth. My ways are not always the easy way, they are the ways of love.
If you are to be joined in your hearts, you must love every man. Every man is your brother. You must put on Christ in all your ways. Would Christ act as you are acting?
I love you so much. It is in meditating on My love for you that you will love your brothers.
I put you on this earth to love one another. Pray to the Spirit to know My ways. I am Jesus, Son of the Living God. I truly come to bring you new life. It is in Me you will have the light of life. I love you so, the Father loves you so, the Spirit wants to live in your hearts and make you alive with the love of God. Pray to Mary to lead you through her loving heart into such love of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
My child, come to My ever burning Heart. I do not love you one moment and forget you the next. I am forever burning brightly for you. I never falter. I am forever on fire for love of you. If you forget Me, I never ever forget you, I love you so much.

The Christian and Sin (excerpt)SIX
The Nature of Sin
What is the nature of sin? Contemporary theology emphasizes that sin is not primarily a violation of a law, but a disruption of personal relationships. Sin is a refusal to love. Serious sin is a radical refusal to love. Venial sin is a partial refusal to love.

The Father's Will for Us - Our Source of Peace
Pope John Paul II instructs us: "The Church, as a reconciled and reconciling community, cannot forget that at the source of her gift and mission of reconciliation is the initiative, full of compassionate love and mercy, of that God who is love (see 1 John 4:8) and who out of love created human beings (see Wisdom 11:23-26; Genesis 1:27: Psalms 8:4-8)…He created them so that they might live in friendship with Him and in communion with one another.
"God is faithful to His eternal plan even when man, under the impulse of the evil one (see Wisdom 2:24) and carried away by his own pride, abuses the freedom given to him in order to love and generously seek what is good, and (instead) refuses to obey his Lord and Father. God is faithful even when man, instead of responding with love to God’s love, opposes Him and treats Him like a rival, deluding himself and relying on his own power, with the resulting break of relationship with the One who created him. In spite of this transgression on man’s part, God remains faithful in love.
"It is certainly true that the story of the Garden of Eden makes us think about the tragic consequences of rejecting the Father, which becomes evident in man’s inner disorder and in the breakdown of harmony between man and woman, brother and brother (see Genesis 3:12 ff; 4:1-16). Also significant is the Gospel parable of the two brothers (the parable of the ‘prodigal son’; see Luke 15:11-32) who, in different ways, distance themselves from their father and cause a rift between them. Refusal of God’s fatherly love and of His loving gifts is always at the root of humanity’s divisions.
"But we know that God…like the father in the parable (of the prodigal son), does not close His heart to any of His children. He waits for them, looks for them, goes to meet them at the place where the refusal of communion imprisons them in isolation and division. He calls them to gather about His table in the joy of the feast of forgiveness and reconciliation.
"This initiative on God’s part is made concrete and manifest in the redemptive act of Christ, which radiates through the world by means of the ministry of the Church." 13

Guiding Light
- Reflect on the Word
Guiding Light homily series - Reflect on the Word - Cycle
B — The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and
reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal
concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a
sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this
day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We
believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as
priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and
Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our
congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand.

Guiding Light homily series - Steadfast to the Son - Cycle A — The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $15 | ||

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul - Cycle C — In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $15 |
Guiding Light - Focusing on the Word - Cycle B — At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $15 |

Guiding Light - The Word Alive in Our Hearts. - Cycle A (partial) — Homilies by the Reverend Joe Robinson given at St. Boniface Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is a tremendous honor Fr. Joe has allowed us to share these great gifts with you – for greater holiness and knowing more and more about God. $10 |
