Today's Readings from Mass
Hosea 6: 1-6
Come, let us return to Yahweh.
He has rent us and he will heal us;
he has struck us
and he will bind up our wounds;
after two days he will revive us,
on the third day he will raise us up
and we shall live in his presence.
Let us know,
let us strive to know Yahweh;
that he will come is as certain as the dawn.He will come to us like a shower,
like the rain of springtime to the earth. What am I to do with you, Ephraim?
What am I to do with you, Judah?
For your love is like morning mist,
like the dew that quickly disappears.
This is why I have hacked them to pieces
by means of the prophets,
why I have killed them
with words from my mouth,
why my sentence will blaze forth
like the dawn–
for faithful love is what pleases me,
not sacrifice;
knowledge of God, not burnt offerings.
Luke 18: 9-14
He spoke the following parable to some people who prided themselves on being upright and despised everyone else, ‘Two men went up to the Temple to pray, one a Pharisee, the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood there and said this prayer to himself, "I thank you, God, that I am not grasping, unjust, adulterous like everyone else, and particularly that I am not like this tax collector here. I fast twice a week; I pay tithes on all I get." The tax collector stood some distance away, not daring even to raise his eyes to heaven; but he beat his breast and said, "God, be merciful to me, a sinner." This man, I tell you, went home again justified; the other did not. For everyone who raises himself up will be humbled, but anyone who humbles himself will be raised up.’

That is what I anguish over most
is the loss of souls.
I can't hardly bear the suffering
at times and
The fire of love for the souls burning
in me amongst so many who
could pray and love our priests
we need to help the souls.
One priest can help so many souls.
Baptism, Confession, Communion.
I just cannot thank God enough for giving
us a priest.
God gifts the world through His priests.
I taste the blood of suffering for the
loss of one precious soul.
Oh that we would let go of our
ways so we could help them.
I almost cannot bear the suffering
for the souls, I love them so much. It
is the souls Christ shed His Blood for.
Oh God please outpour Your
precious grace to all of us to
realize how Your way is love.
No renewal will come from us who
do not love.
Love takes oneness and forgiveness.
The vision of the Shepherds of Christ
cannot be molded around a "single"
wounded person — we must
seek to be renewed in love
in our hearts.
So a man may know nuts and bolts
and how to argue — can he
teach love from these things?
Look at Christ on the cross.
The heart Christ can work through
recognizes human weakness
and says they are sorry.
Once a big tree fell in the forest
and blocked most of the paths
through the forest.
No one could move the big tree - so
the forest was very empty.
A person who keeps telling themselves
I am right and I never sin - is
like a big tree in any place
they go.
Jesus died for sinners.
It is those who fail to recognize
their faults that block holy
spiritual work.
How can the Spirit move when one
heart is rooted in never
being wrong —
this is falsity —
John 1: 8-10 - 2: 1-2
If we say, ‘We have no sin,’
we are deceiving ourselves,
and truth has no place in us;
if we acknowledge our sins,
he is trustworthy and upright,
so that he will forgive our sins
and will cleanse us from all evil.
If we say, ‘We have never sinned,’
we make him a liar,
and his word has no place in us.
My children, I am writing this
to prevent you from sinning;
but if anyone does sin,
we have an advocate with the Father,
Jesus Christ, the upright.
He is the sacrifice to expiate our sins,
and not only ours,
but also those of the whole world.
Who do we fool when we lie
to ourselves —
God knows all our actions and
the motive of our heart.
Committing error will happen —
not saying you're sorry and
provoking others so you
look good is not right.
It is wrong to set a trap for another
to provoke and then to walk away
in secret hiding your offenses
as if you have none.
It is one thing to act and say you are sorry.
This is what God desires.
It is wrong to hold hatred inside
and then to project it on others
and to walk away failing to take
responsibility for your part in
knocking down the first card
in a house of cards.
Jeremiah 7: 23-28
My one command to them was this: Listen to my voice, then I will be your God and you shall be my people. In everything, follow the way that I mark out for you, and you shall prosper. But they did not listen, they did not pay attention; they followed their own devices, their own stubborn and wicked inclinations, and got worse rather than better. From the day your ancestors left Egypt until today, I have sent you all my servants the prophets, persistently sending them day after day. But they have not listened to me, have not paid attention; they have deliberately resisted, behaving worse than their ancestors. So you will tell them all this, but they will not listen to you; you will call them, but they will not answer you." Then you are to say to them, "This is the nation that will neither listen to the voice of Yahweh its God nor take correction. Sincerity is no more, it has vanished from their mouths.
Psalm 95: 1-2, 6-9
Come, let us cry out with joy to Yahweh,
acclaim the rock of our salvation.
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving,
acclaim him with music.Come, let us bow low and do reverence;
kneel before Yahweh who made us!
For he is our God,
and we the people of his sheepfold,
the flock of his hand.If only you would listen to him today!
Do not harden your hearts as at Meribah,
as at the time of Massah in the desert,
when your ancestors challenged me,
put me to the test, and saw what I could do!
Luke 11: 14-23
He was driving out a devil and it was dumb; and it happened that when the devil had gone out the dumb man spoke, and the people were amazed. But some of them said, ‘It is through Beelzebul, the prince of devils, that he drives devils out.’ Others asked him, as a test, for a sign from heaven; but, knowing what they were thinking, he said to them, ‘Any kingdom which is divided against itself is heading for ruin, and house collapses against house. So, too, with Satan: if he is divided against himself, how can his kingdom last?—since you claim that it is through Beelzebul that I drive devils out. Now if it is through Beelzebul that I drive devils out, through whom do your own sons drive them out? They shall be your judges, then. But if it is through the finger of God that I drive devils out, then the kingdom of God has indeed caught you unawares. So long as a strong man fully armed guards his own home, his goods are undisturbed; but when someone stronger than himself attacks and defeats him, the stronger man takes away all the weapons he relied on and shares out his spoil.
‘Anyone who is not with me is against me; and anyone who does not gather in with me throws away.
There is a divided heart —
one who gives part to God
one who gives part to satan
A single heart is in love
with the Father's will —
the person tries to please
the Father.
We are to love God with
our whole heart and
our whole soul.

there they have betrayed me.
Gilead is a city of evil-doers,
full of bloody footprints.
Like so many robbers in ambush,
a gang of priests commits murder on the road toward Shechem—
what infamous behavior!
At Bethel I have seen a horrible thing:
there Ephraim plays the whore,
Israel is befouled.
For you too, Judah, a harvest is in store,
when I restore my people's fortunes.

Messenger:
God gives us the image of
a wedding. God's relationship
with His people — so intimate —
so loving —
Jesus lays down His
life for
His people — beloved, dear ones —
like a husband — giving himself to His people —
and the people are His Spouse —
John 2: 1-11
On the third day there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee. The mother of Jesus was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited. And they ran out of wine, since the wine provided for the feast had all been used, and the mother of Jesus said to him, ‘They have no wine.’ Jesus said, ‘Woman, what do you want from me? My hour has not come yet.’ His mother said to the servants, ‘Do whatever he tells you.’ There were six stone water jars standing there, meant for the ablutions that are customary among the Jews: each could hold twenty or thirty gallons. Jesus said to the servants, ‘Fill the jars with water,’ and they filled them to the brim. Then he said to them, ‘Draw some out now and take it to the president of the feast.’ They did this; the president tasted the water, and it had turned into wine. Having no idea where it came from—though the servants who had drawn the water knew—the president of the feast called the bridegroom and said, ‘Everyone serves good wine first and the worse wine when the guests are well wined; but you have kept the best wine till now.’ This was the first of Jesus’ signs: it was at Cana in Galilee. He revealed his glory, and his disciples believed in him.

Messenger:
The first miracle is the wedding
at Cana — a wedding — love —
Mary tells Jesus they have no wine —
She doesn't have to nag Him — Jesus
works the miracle, Mary tells
Him — they have no wine.
Mary tells Jesus, she
says "Do
whatever He tells you" Jesus performs
the miracle in love for the married couple —
The relation of
husband and wife
prefigures - God wants this love for
us. God is love — God gives us the
sacrament of Matrimony — God
gives us the sacrament of the Eucharist.
Jesus wants this betrothal to us - love —
Religious life is a special marriage
between the soul and Jesus.
We see in the
marriage at
Cana the intercession of Mary.
We see Jesus' love for His Mother.
Mary says — "They have no wine."
She lets it up to Jesus —
She tells the stewards — "Do what ever Jesus
tells you."
Jesus looks on us as
His bride —
Jesus loves us more than any husband
can for His wife.
Jesus wants
religious, also, so in
love with the Church and the people
praying for the Church and the people.
Jesus loves His people so much —
He died for them and gives them
the Eucharist today —
God wants religious
bringing forth
fruit for the Kingdom loving
the Church and the people —
leading them to deeper love
with Him.
God gave Joseph to Mary and Jesus
2 Samuel 7: 4-5, 12-14, 16
But that very night, the word of Yahweh came to Nathan:
'Go and tell my servant David, "Yahweh says this: Are you to build me a temple for me to live in?
And when your days are over and you fall asleep with your ancestors, I shall appoint your heir, your own son to succeed you (and I shall make his sovereignty secure. He will build a temple for my name) and I shall make his royal throne secure for ever. I shall be a father to him and he a son to me; if he does wrong, I shall punish him with a rod such as men use, with blows such as mankind gives.
Your dynasty and your sovereignty will ever stand firm before me and your throne be for ever secure."'

Messenger: God is love.
I grow here below in the ways of love.
God wants the Shepherds
of Christ to spread this
devotion to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate
Heart around the world.
God wants a brotherly
love amongst
us — a caring in love as a
family — a joy to have a loving
Father and precious Mother like
the Virgin Mary.
To become mechanical in
our religious
orders or stiff, unloving is a
contradiction.
Jesus came to show us how
to love.
We are to be other focused like
Jesus.
Knowing my weakness
as a wounded
human person — I long for the pureness
of the sinless Heart of Mary — I can go
there and she teaches me through the wisdom
of the Holy Spirit about sinlessness. The Holy
Spirit counsels me — the Holy Spirit the Spouse
of Mary. I know the fire of God's love.
God's life is in me. I dwell in the
Hearts of Jesus and Mary.
From Tell My People
The Holy Spirit Jesus: "My beloved friend, tell My people to pray daily to the Holy Spirit. They are to pray for an increase in His gifts. My people must realize that the Holy Spirit comes to transform them. The Spirit desires to transform you more and more according to My image. Those who are docile to His touch become increasingly shaped in My likeness. He performs this marvel within Mary's Immaculate Heart. The more one dwells in My Mother's Heart, the more active are the workings of the Spirit. The Spirit leads Mary to place you within My own Heart. In both Our Hearts, then, your transformation continues. The more you are formed after My own Heart, the more I lead you to the bosom of My Father. Tell My people all this. Tell them to pray daily for a greater appreciation of these wondrous gifts. I am Lord and Master. All who come to My Heart will be on fire to receive the gifts of the Spirit in ever greater measure! I love and bless My people!"
Reflection: The Holy Spirit is given to us to fashion us ever more according to the likeness of Jesus. And the more we are like Jesus, the more Jesus leads us to the Father. Do we, each day, pray to the Holy Spirit to be more open to His transforming influence? Do we strive each day to grow in union with Mary? The greater our union with our Mother, the spouse of the Holy Spirit, the greater is the transforming action of the Holy Spirit within us.

Messenger: Tomorrow is Fr. Carter's birthday —
He was holy —
His library contained books about love.
He was always focused on God's will.
He saw himself in the arms of Mary
like a little baby.
Love — We in the
Shepherds of Christ are to
show this holy love of God to the world —
If love goes out of it — it is
like missing mortar when using
bricks to build a house —
Love is our mission —
Greater perfection in Him —
Understanding
Living according to God's
will in love.
Learning at the hem of Mary's dress —
the secrets of her sinless heart —
recognizing our jealousy, anger,
envy, being docile —
opening the door to every person
to walk deeply according to their
talents — doing His plan — in
love, gratitude, faithfulness,
trust —
Praying the Hail Mary —
saying and meditating on
"Mary full of Grace"
