Day 2 Period I.

The Novena Rosary Mysteries
for March 3rd are Glorious.

Pray for special intentions.

Prayer for Grace for our Country

Dear Father united to Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Sacrifice of Calvary sacramentally made present, celebrated around the world, in the Holy Spirit. We offer up all we do united to the Mass. We unite in one mind and one heart as members of the mystical body of Christ, with Christ our head in the pure and holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary, through the powerful intercession of Mary with all the angels and saints and souls in purgatory, and we beg for the saving grace, for our country, the United States. Please help us. We further pray for unity to always do the will of God in love. We spread the Blood of Jesus on the leaders and people of the United States and cast the devil into hell. We consecrate our country to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and all our dioceses, and beg for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God help us. We pray for our families, the priests, the Church and the world. In the Name of Jesus please hear us, we pray. We pray for our president and leaders. We pray that we are united as one nation under God to work together in love as God wants.

Words of Jesus to Members of Shepherds of Christ Associates:

"My beloved priest-companion, I intend to use the priestly newsletter, Shepherds of Christ, and the movement, Shepherds of Christ Associates, in a powerful way for the renewal of My Church and the world.

"I will use the newsletter and the chapters of Shepherds of Christ Associates as a powerful instrument for spreading devotion to My Heart and My Mother's Heart.

"I am calling many to become members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. To all of them I will give great blessings. I will use them as instruments to help bring about the triumph of the Immaculate Heart and the reign of My Sacred Heart. I will give great graces to the members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. I will call them to be deeply united to My Heart and to Mary's Heart as I lead them ever closer to My Father in the Holy Spirit."

- Message from Jesus to Father Edward J. Carter, S.J., Founder, as given on July 31, 1994,
feast of Saint Ignatius Loyola, Founder of the Society of Jesus (The Jesuits)

Sorrowful Mysteries in Thanksgiving

The Agony in the Garden

1. Jesus came and He taught us and worked
many miracles. Jesus did this to teach
us His way. Now His time was here
to empty Himself and die for our
sins as He did in the bitter passion.

2. Jesus took Peter, James and John in the
Garden after the Last Supper –
Jesus gave them Himself at the
Last Supper.

3. Jesus went into the Garden, in His
Divine knowing, knowing all the
sins of the world and He sweat
blood knowing many souls He loved
so much would reject Him
and sin mortally and lose
their soul – no matter what
Jesus did for them.

4. Why do we hold onto so much fear
and distorted thinking. We need
to pray to the Holy Spirit to
give us wisdom and knowledge
and understanding.

5. Dear God help us to do Thy will
in the actions in our lives.

6. Jesus told the Apostles to watch.
Jesus prayed in the Garden, if
it were possible this hour
could pass by Him.

7. Mark 14: 36

‘Abba,  Father!’ he said, ‘For you everything is possible. Take this cup away from me. But let it be as you, not I, would have it.’

8. Mark 14: 38

Stay awake and pray not to be put to the test. The spirit is willing enough, but human nature is weak.’

9. Mark 14: 40-42

And once more he came back and found them sleeping, their eyes were so heavy; and they could find no answer for him. He came back a third time and said to them, ‘You can sleep on now and have your rest. It is all over. The hour has come. Now the Son of man is to be betrayed into the hands of sinners. Get up! Let us go! My betrayer is not far away.’

10. Dear God, I am so sorry for my
sins and the sins of the human
race.

Sing: Why Do We Hurt the Ones We Love

The Scourging at the Pillar

1. Mark 14: 44-46

Now the traitor had arranged a signal with them saying, ‘The one I kiss, he is the man. Arrest him, and see he is well guarded when you lead him away.’ So when the traitor came, he went up to Jesus at once and said, 'Rabbi' and kissed him. The others seized him and arrested him.

2. Mark 15: 15

So Pilate, anxious to placate the crowd, released Barabbas for them and, after having Jesus scourged, he handed him over to be crucified.

3. Jesus suffered for our sins and
the sins of those who sinned
against us.

4. What we do to others we do to
    Jesus.

5. Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am
in distress, rescue me from
the hands of my enemies. Lord
keep me from shame, for I
have called to you.
Psalm 30: 10,16,18

6. Jesus is the Light of the World.
When we follow Jesus, we
    walk in the light!

7. John 8: 12

When Jesus spoke to the people again, he said:
    I am the light of the world;
    anyone who follows me
will not be walking in the dark,
but will have the light of life.

8. Jesus' body was scourged from
    head to toe.
    Jesus did this for love
    of you and me.

9. The cross of Christ leads to
    greater life in Him.

1 John 4: 20

Anyone who says 'I love God' and hates his brother, is a liar, since whoever does not love the brother whom he can see cannot love God whom he has not seen.

10. From Tell My People by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J.

   The Cross Leads to Life

Jesus: "My beloved priest-companion, tell My people that they must keep the lesson of the cross fresh in their consciousness. Remind them that I am the Christ of the Cross as well as the Christ of the Resurrection. I suffered tremendously on My way to death on the cross. My sacred flesh was so cruelly lacerated by the scourging. My sacred head was so cruelly and mockingly crowned with thorns. I was spat upon and made fun of. Exhausted by terrible suffering, I still had to carry the heavy cross to Calvary. There My sacred hands and feet were mercilessly pierced with nails. Oh, what pain this caused Me!

"I suffered all this most willingly--out of love for My Father and for all My people! Through My cross, through My suffering, I obtained new life for My people. Through My cruel and brutal death, I achieved Resurrection for Myself and all My people. My suffering was not an end in itself. It was a necessary passageway to obtain the life I came to give.

"My people must share in My cross, so that they may share more and more in My life. Remind My people, My dear friend, that suffering, when embraced according to My Father's will, leads to greater life here and hereafter. The cross, properly carried, always leads to a greater share in My Resurrection.

"Tell My people that the more they are united with Me in love, the easier is the carrying of the cross. The more one dwells in Me, the more I help that person to carry the cross. In this way, even the heaviest cross becomes relatively light.

"Carrying the cross does not mean to be in misery. Carrying one's cross in union with Me always allows a person to remain in peace. The cross does not take away peace and joy. Despite the pain involved, the cross gives increased peace and joy. I am Lord and Master. I eagerly desire that all listen to My words and live them!

"My people, come each day to My Heart and I will give you the light and strength to carry your cross according to Father's will! I love My people with an overwhelming love, and in this great love I give them this message."

Reflection: One does not have to reflect on the human condition for very long to be reminded of how much suffering exists in all parts of the world. And yet, the great tragedy concerning human suffering is not that there is so much of it, but rather that so much of it is apparently wasted. In God's plan, suffering is meant to lead to greater life, a greater share in Christ's Resurrection here and hereafter. Suffering does just that, if we relate to it according to God's will. To the extent we don't relate to the cross as God's will would have us, we miss the opportunity for suffering to be growth-promoting.

Jesus tells us about the cross and its linkage to life in the Gospel: "Then to all he said: 'If anyone wants to be a follower of mine, let him renounce himself and take up his cross everyday and follow me. For anyone who wants to save his life will lose it; but anyone who loses his life for my sake, that man will save it'" (Luke 9:23-24).

And St. Paul tells us: "We are in difficulties on all sides, but never cornered; we see no answer to our problems, but never despair; we have been persecuted, but never deserted; knocked down, but never killed; always, wherever we may be, we carry with us in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus, too, may always be seen in our body" (2 Corinthians 4:8-10).

The Crowning with Thorns

1. From the Priestly Newsletter 2000 #2

He hung upon a cross on a hill called Calvary. Death was near. How much Jesus had already suffered! He had been derisively crowned with thorns. In a terribly weakened condition, He carried the heavy cross to the hill of Golgotha. There He was stripped of His garments and mercilessly nailed to the cross. After all this brutal and agonizing suffering, Jesus finally died.

2. Mark 15: 16-19

The soldiers led him away to the inner part of the palace, that is, the Praetorium, and called the whole cohort together. They dressed him up in purple, twisted some thorns into a crown and put it on him. And they began saluting him, 'Hail, king of the Jews!' They struck his head with a reed and spat on him; and they went down on their knees to do him homage.

3. Mark 15: 20

And when they had finished making fun of him, they took off the purple and dressed him in his own clothes. They led him out to crucify him.

4. 2 Corinthians 12: 9-10

but he has answered me, ‘My grace is enough for you: for power is at full stretch in weakness.’ It is, then, about my weaknesses that I am happiest of all to boast, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me; and that is why I am glad of weaknesses, insults, constraints, persecutions and distress for Christ’s sake. For it is when I am weak that I am strong.

5. From the Priestly Newsletter 2000 #1

This brief passage contains one of the greatest lessons of the spiritual life. As we progress along our spiritual journey, we become increasingly aware of how weak we are in ourselves, but how strong we are in Christ.

6. Galatians 2: 19-20

I have been crucified with Christ and yet I am alive; yet it is no longer I, but Christ living in me. The life that I am now living, subject to the limitation of human nature, I am living in faith, faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me.

Rid Yourself of All Coverings

He is teaching me about
    getting close to Him.
Jesus: I held nothing back,
dear sweet one, I gave My all.
What do you cover yourself with that keeps
    you from union with Me?

8. From Blue Book 4 - August 11, 1994 -
Rid Yourself of All Coverings

Jesus: I am Jesus, your Savior. Oh, dear,
sweet one, I do have you tucked in My
precious Heart. I love you so very much.
Surrender all your cares and hear the beating,
gently of My Sacred Heart.

I never leave you. The very hairs of your
head are numbered, even the pores, I tend
to. Let go and fall into My loving arms.
Securely you dwell in the recesses of My most
Sacred Heart.

The Carrying of the Cross

May 5, 2019

1. From Blue Book 4 - August 11, 1994 -
He Loves Us, No Strings Attached

Jesus: Love, My little child, when they
persecute you and holler every slander
against you, when they do their vile deeds.
See Me as I walked the way of Calvary.
See My beautiful Mother, see her suffering,
My dear beautiful one, for such love of you.
This is your Mother. She is by your side, this
very day. When you walk the way of Calvary,
she never ever leaves you, she stays constantly
by your side. This is your beloved Mother. My
child, she truly mothers you as she mothered
Me. No mother was ever sweeter than this Mother,
whom I give to you this day at your side. She
knows your pain. She knows your sorrows. She
knows what sufferings are. She watched them,
she watched all the horrid events of what they
did to Me. She walks with you, this day, little
sweet one. She is joined in her Heart with My
Heart, ardently loving you.

2. From Blue Book 4 - August 11, 1994 -
He Loves Us, No Strings Attached

Jesus: You, child, need to pray to your Mother
this day. You know how I loved you to My
very death. You know how I suffered so for
you. Did you realize how My Mother walks by
you constantly and loves you? Pray to her, sweet
one. She is so close to you. She never leaves your
side. As she watched My passion and death, she
watches you in all your trials. She loves you so
much, My little child. Run to her arms and be so
close to her breast. This is your Mother, My little
child. Such tenderness and love she has for you!
Your Mother goes with you on this journey.

3. From Blue Book 4 - August 10, 1994 -
And Their Eyes Peered Into One Another's Eyes

R. See Mary as she beholds the baby
in her arms. She looks at Him so tenderly.
His sweet baby eyes look up at the eyes
of His loving Mother. Such tenderness
between Mother and Son, such oneness
to hold her infant Son so lovingly in her
arms. Oh, do we ever know the tenderness
between a baby and his loving mother?

A life of close union between this Mother
and this Son, a life of her looking into
His loving eyes. Such silent, but strong and
loving communication! Such a strong bond-
Their eyes meeting-from one soul to the other
soul.

4. From Blue Book 4  - August 10, 1994 -
And Their Eyes Peered Into One Another's Eyes

Mary: This is my beloved Son. This is my
Baby. This is the Child I bore in my womb.
He came to give you love. He came to be
God-made-Man among you this very day.
He is, my children, no less present in the
Eucharist than He was at Calvary and you
go after such incidental things. My Son
loves you. I show you my face so you
can tell the world of our love. Live our
lives in the rosary. Let our lives live in
your day. The way to eternal happiness
is to be likened to my beautiful Son.

I watched my Son. I lead you to the ardent
love of my Son, Jesus. His Heart burns for
love of you. Come to Him this day. Give
Him your love. Spend time with Him. He is
alive and in your midst in the Eucharist.

5. From Blue Book 4 - August 16, 1994 -
The Invisible Wounds

The invisible scars: To watch Him
stripped and beaten and to silently
stand by and cry. She appears to tell
us of her invisible scars. She appears
and shows me her faces, young and
old, sorrowful and joyful. She appears
to tell us the story of His love for us.
Do we listen, do we see?

6. From Blue Book 4 - August 16, 1994 -
The Invisible Wounds

Mary saw blood all over. Mary
    watched Jesus bleed and bleed.
It was as though He could not
have had all the blood He had.
When He was scourged He stood
in a puddle of His own blood.

7. From Blue Book 4 - August 16, 1994 -
The Invisible Wounds

...it ran from His face and from His
mouth -- from the blows to His head.
They beat Jesus' body raw!

8. From Blue Book 4 - August 16, 1994 -
The Invisible Wounds

Mary: Turn your lives toward my Son.
What do I say to get you to listen? Life
on earth is only passing. I appear, I show
you my face, you will never comprehend
how my Son suffered for love of you!
This is the real world, this is the truth that
He bled and bled for love of you, that He
stood there silently in all the beatings. He
accepted this awful treatment. He came to
show you the way. I watched my precious
little One. I watched and my heart was torn
in my chest. I experienced such suffering,
watching this massacre of my beautiful Son,
for love of you!

I appear with blood in my eyes. My eyes
shed invisible blood during His Passion,
to watch Him bleed and be beaten raw by
His attackers.

And what does He ask in return? He asks
you to love God and love one another. Do
this, for your reward is everlasting life.

9. Luke 23: 26-28

As they were leading him away they seized on a man, Simon from Cyrene, who was coming in from the country, and made him shoulder the cross and carry it behind Jesus. Large numbers of people followed him, and women too, who mourned and lamented for him. But Jesus turned to them and said, ‘Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep rather for yourselves and for your children.

10. From Blue Book 4 - August 22, 1994 -
You Search, You Seek, I Am Here!

Jesus: I thought of My love for you. I suffered
such anguish, but to know one day you would
sit and be with Me in this Church, I loved you
so much, I thought of you. With each blow, child,
I knew how you would eagerly want to be with
Me because you love Me so. I knew you would
wait so anxiously to be united with Me in the
Eucharist. When I received the blows I thought
of you and your love. I knew constantly the love
of the Father. I knew this love as I was scourged.
This love that exists between the Father and
Myself gave Me the strength to withstand the
torture. His grace and love is being outpoured
to you at every moment. Be forever attentive to
such love, constantly within you. The more
focused you are on Our Presence, the more
you will be one in God!

The Crucifixion

1. Luke 23: 33

When they reached the place called The Skull, there they crucified him and the two criminals, one on his right, the other on his left.

2. Mary's Message from the Rosary of August 27, 1996

Mary:  I stood beneath the cross of my Son, and my Heart was in such pain for I saw Him before my eyes. I saw Him covered with blood. I saw Him die. My Heart, my children, my Heart to watch my Son, but my Heart, my Heart, how I suffered for my little children of the world that give in to this world and give up the love of my Son. O my little children of light, I give you this message. Carry this light into the darkness for your Mother Mary, for I stood beneath the cross and I cried. I cried for the little ones. I cried for the young ones, the ones that do not care and will lose their souls. How do I make you see for you will not listen to me? What can I do? I come. I appear. I beg. I plead. I give you these gifts from my Son, and you reject me. I do not deliver messages very often anymore for I have been ignored. The message is the same. You do not read the messages I have given to you. Please help me. Help the little children. I appear. I appear. I appear, and I am ignored. I stood beneath the cross, and I cried. I cried, and my Heart was in such anguish for my little children, for I am searching for them this day as I searched for the Child Jesus. Please, please help me. I cannot hold back the hand of my Son any longer. I am Mary, your Mother. I ask you to help my children. You are my children of light. end of Mary's Message

2. Jesus: I speak and so many do not listen!
I am crying out to you to listen to My voice
here, to read My letters for they are truly
letters of love that I give to each one of you.
It is in reading these letters that you will know
more and more the immensity of the love that
I have for you. You are My soldiers that I send
into the sick world with the medicine to heal so
many hearts. You are the chosen ones I have
called here to this Center. Please, I beg you,
take My call seriously, for I am truly Jesus and
I speak to you this day. So many take My plea
lightly. I beg! I plead! I ask Rita to talk more
and more about My pleadings. You do not know
how I am longing for you to be so close. How I
want you to surrender and let Me operate in your
hearts! You tap ever so lightly when there is an
ocean of My love that I want to give to you.
Surrender your hearts and read My letters of
love for it is in these letters that you will know
My love more and more.

6. Jesus: As Mary walked by My side
on the way to Calvary, as she stood under
the cross, she is by your side in all your
sufferings. You are never alone.

8. From the Red Rosary Book

July 11, 1995 - The Crucifixion

10. R. It is through His pierced Heart that
the sacramental life of the Church was
formed: water, a symbol for baptism; blood,
a symbol of the Eucharist. We are given
His divine life in baptism. We are fed
through His very own Body and Blood.
Mary is the Mediatrix of all graces and
His life flows through her Heart. It is
through Mary's Heart that we are
dispensed this life, merited by Her Son
as He gave His life on the cross.

9. From the Red Rosary Book

July 11, 1995 - The Crucifixion

7. Jesus: Mary is caring for you as she cared
for Me, forming you forever in her Heart,
through the Holy Spirit, to be more and more
like Me. My dear ones, you were created in the
image and likeness of God. Surrender and let Us
work in you.

10. From the Red Rosary Book

July 11, 1995 - The Crucifixion

3. Jesus: Feel the warmth within you and
surrender, My dear ones. When you are backed
up against a wall, surrender. Take all of your
cares and put them in the arms of the Almighty
God. I spread My arms on the cross and gave
My all for love of you. Do you think I am not
listening to your prayers this day? I am Jesus.
If I gave My life for you, do you think I would
abandon you now? I am so attentive to all of
your needs.

Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Litugical Year (2011/2012)
$ 10.00

Guiding Light homily series — Reflect on the Word — Cycle B     The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand. $10

Guiding Light - Steadfast to the Son
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle A of the Litugical Year
$ 10.00

Guiding Light homily series — Steadfast to the Son — Cycle A    The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $10

Guiding Light - Focusing on the Word
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Litugical Year
$ 10.00

Guiding Light — Focusing on the Word — Cycle B    At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $10

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle C of the Litugical Year
$ 10.00

Guiding Light — Feed My Soul — Cycle C    In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $10
