Prayer for Grace for our Country
Dear Father united to Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Sacrifice of Calvary sacramentally made present, celebrated around the world, in the Holy Spirit. We offer up all we do united to the Mass. We unite in one mind and one heart as members of the mystical body of Christ, with Christ our head in the pure and holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary, through the powerful intercession of Mary with all the angels and saints and souls in purgatory, and we beg for the saving grace, for our country, the United States. Please help us. We further pray for unity to always do the will of God in love. We spread the Blood of Jesus on the leaders and people of the United States and cast the devil into hell. We consecrate our country to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and all our dioceses, and beg for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God help us. We pray for our families, the priests, the Church and the world. In the Name of Jesus please hear us, we pray. We pray for our new president as he takes office. We pray that we are united as one nation under God to work together in love as God wants.
God's Blue Book 17 is available
$5.00 plus postage.
Help us spread the Blue Books.

Today's Readings
Ezekiel 37: 21-28
...say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: I shall take the Israelites from the nations where they have gone. I shall gather them together from everywhere and bring them home to their own soil. I shall make them into one nation in the country, on the mountains of Israel, and one king is to be king of them all; they will no longer form two nations, nor be two separate kingdoms. They will no longer defile themselves with their foul idols, their horrors and any of their crimes. I shall save them from the acts of infidelity which they have committed and shall cleanse them; they will be my people and I shall be their God. My servant David will reign over them, one shepherd for all; they will follow my judgements, respect my laws and practise them. They will live in the country which I gave to my servant Jacob, the country in which your ancestors lived. They will live in it, they, their children, their children’s children, for ever. David my servant is to be their prince for ever. I shall make a covenant of peace with them, an eternal covenant with them. I shall resettle them and make them grow; I shall set my sanctuary among them for ever. I shall make my home above them; I shall be their God, and they will be my people. And the nations will know that I am Yahweh the sanctifier of Israel, when my sanctuary is with them for ever." '
Jeremiah 31: 10, 11-12, 13
Listen, nations, to the word of Yahweh.
On the farthest coasts and islands
proclaim it, say,
‘He who scattered Israel is gathering him,
will guard him as a shepherd
guarding his flock.’For Yahweh has ransomed Jacob,
rescued him from a hand
stronger than his own.
They will come, shouting for joy
on the heights of Zion,
thronging towards Yahweh’s lavish gifts,
for wheat, new wine and oil,
sheep and cattle;
they will be like a well–watered garden,
they will sorrow no more. The young girl will then take pleasure
in the dance,
and young men and old alike;
I shall change their mourning
into gladness,
comfort them, give them joy
after their troubles;
John 11: 45-57
Many of the Jews who had come to visit Mary, and had seen what he did, believed in him, but some of them went to the Pharisees to tell them what Jesus had done. Then the chief priests and Pharisees called a meeting. 'Here is this man working all these signs,' they said, 'and what action are we taking? If we let him go on in this way everybody will believe in him, and the Romans will come and suppress the Holy Place and our nation.' One of them, Caiaphas, the high priest that year, said, 'You do not seem to have grasped the situation at all; you fail to see that it is to your advantage that one man should die for the people, rather than that the whole nation should perish.' He did not speak in his own person, but as high priest of that year he was prophesying that Jesus was to die for the nation -- and not for the nation only, but also to gather together into one the scattered children of God. From that day onwards they were determined to kill him. So Jesus no longer went about openly among the Jews, but left the district for a town called Ephraim, in the country bordering on the desert, and stayed there with his disciples.
The Jewish Passover was drawing near, and many of the country people who had gone up to Jerusalem before the Passover to purify themselves were looking out for Jesus, saying to one another as they stood about in the Temple, 'What do you think? Will he come to the festival or not?' The chief priests and Pharisees had by now given their orders: anyone who knew where he was must inform them so that they could arrest him.
October 4, 2004
R. Jesus humbled Himself and took the
nature of a slave like us, a slave like us.
The pain to His body was so very great, His
body was whipped for our sins, whipped
for our sins. Sins of ugly lies and hatred,
sins of denying the wrong-doing done to
be right. The consent of some abusing
innocent others for their own darkness.
When a person chooses to hate and
divide, to punish others, to block what
is God's will for themselves and others and
then deny their wrong-doing in such actions,
Jesus was beaten for the sins of man.
We are accountable before God for our
actions done deliberately in malice of
intent before God. Dismissing large chucks
of time where we hold out in anger and
do not do daily activities that is our
duty before God is wrong.
No man is an island. A person cannot
seek a place where they can do what they
want and live under the authority of a
home, an institution.
He took the nature of a slave. He paid
for the arrogance of some to deny the
truth of their actions, to nurse anger
and divide because that was what
they wanted. Argumentation because of
the interior emptiness within them
from such discord, division, chaos,
confusion, rebellion, bitter jealousy,
when they were called to work under authority,
in union and love as a unit working
with each other serving God.
Hatred and darkness, emptiness
of the interior life with God ends
in a person wanting to blame others
outside themselves for such darkness
and discord, isolation, anger
and hatred inside.
When a person gives into satan in
constant rebellion to God's laws of
love and unity, how could there be
anything but a striking out in
the exterior against life surrounding
them. It's all allowing satan to
fill that space inside and operate
from that interior darkness against
their brothers as enemies because
of their own utter opposition to God's
Plan for love and unity in their
lives.
It can be denial of their past
that needs healing and their lack of
trust of others of God wanting to
control everything around them to
be safe (they think). Twisted thinking,
addictive, destructive thinking.
A person needs to be in touch with
God in the interior life. In the degree
we live in the truth of Jesus, we
can unite to God. We cannot live
in lies inside and expect union with
God and others. There is this distorted
reality, an emptiness of communion in
truth with God.
To live a life of division with others,
bitter jealousy against one's neighbor,
seeing others as enemies where life
is lived acting out deadly sins of
anger, pride, envy against one's
brothers, created by God in love,
is to be consumed with emptiness
and darkness, misery inside and
lies about reality.
In the advanced stages of isolation and
playing the safe game – they think –
interaction with others – in general
is unsafe. Closing down in darkness,
division.
God is love and in Him is no darkness.
Everything is held together in Christ. We
need to have a real loving relationship with
the Sacred Heart of Jesus to know love.
Colossians 1: 15-23
Christ is the head of all creation
He is the image of the unseen God,
the first–born of all creation,
for in him were created all things
in heaven and on earth:
everything visible and everything invisible,
thrones, ruling forces, sovereignties, powers—
all things were created through him and for him.
He exists before all things
and in him all things hold together,
and he is the Head of the Body,
that is, the Church. He is the Beginning,
the first–born from the dead,
so that he should be supreme in every way;
because God wanted all fullness to be found in him
and through him to reconcile all things to him,
everything in heaven and everything on earth,
by making peace through his death on the cross. The Colossians have their share in salvation
You were once estranged and of hostile intent through your evil behaviour; now he has reconciled you, by his death and in that mortal body, to bring you before himself holy, faultless and irreproachable—as long as you persevere and stand firm on the solid base of the faith, never letting yourselves drift away from the hope promised by the gospel, which you have heard, which has been preached to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become the servant.
Paul's labours in the service of the gentiles
It makes me happy to be suffering for you now, and in my own body to make up all the hardships that still have to be undergone by Christ for the sake of his body, the Church, of which I was made a servant with the responsibility towards you that God gave to me, that of completing God's message, the message which was a mystery hidden for generations and centuries and has now been revealed to his holy people. It was God's purpose to reveal to them how rich is the glory of this mystery among the gentiles; it is Christ among you, your hope of glory: this is the Christ we are proclaiming, admonishing and instructing everyone in all wisdom, to make everyone perfect in Christ. And it is for this reason that I labour, striving with his energy which works in me mightily.
R. Humility – Jesus tells us we are to become
like little children – the first will be last –
Little ones are great to God – Not those
causing division – seeking to be first
at all costs, right when they are
wrong, chaos, confusion, argumentation
to have it their way – Jesus loves those
who are childlike, humble, docile,
obedient.
Spiritual growth comes from
child-like hearts as these – not the
arrogant, power seeking, belligerent,
holding out, angry bitter ones, filled with
darkness, egotism, closed in – in an
empty interior life.
Christ is the light of the world –
Christ is the King and Center of our
hearts – not ourselves and selfishness.
Christ gets the attention – not those
seeking negative attention just to
have the control and rule for
their selfish power.
People are not objects used for the abuse
of others. They were created in dignity and
love by God for His purpose. People are
not to be seen as enemies but brothers.
Matthew 15: 10-11, 17-20
He called the people to him and said, 'Listen, and understand. What goes into the mouth does not make anyone unclean; it is what comes out of the mouth that makes someone unclean.'
Can’t you see that whatever goes into the mouth passes through the stomach and is discharged into the sewer? But whatever comes out of the mouth comes from the heart, and it is this that makes someone unclean. For from the heart come evil intentions: murder, adultery, fornication, theft, perjury, slander. These are the things that make a person unclean. But eating with unwashed hands does not make anyone unclean.’
R. Dear heavenly Father help us to get rid
of the darkness of hatred and sin and
walk in Your light with Jesus our Savior.
We seek Your help Father – we are Your
little ones, humble, obedient and docile.
We want only the truth of Jesus in our
hearts so we can grow deeply in the interior
life in God.
Cling to Me
May 13, 1993
Jesus: My dear child, if you stay close to Me, then I live in you and you live in Me. I am He Who created you and I love you with such an intensity that you will never know. My words are your truth. You must abide in My heart in all things. There is no room for doubt. My ways are steadfast, direct, and without error.
You must stay rooted in Me to ward off the power of the evil one. His grip is paralyzing and crippling. His power is stronger every day.
When you live in Me, I am in your heart and he has no power over Me. I am your God. I am your true lover. I want to protect you. I want to guard you from this force. Stay rooted firmly in Me and he will have no power.
I am He Who comforts you. My hand is upon you. Hold tight to Me, My child. My eyes are fixed right on you. You are My most precious child. I love you as no other can. My arms are about you. My tenderness surrounds you. My love is in your heart. You go not alone. I walk with you.
I share every aspect of your life with you. Cling to Me, feel My presence. It is warm and secure within your chest. There is no room for fear, for I cast out fear and bring you comfort and joy. end of May 13, 1993
R. Our hearts were made for love and unity
NOT lies, hatred, division, chaos,
confusion and darkness.
Heavenly Father outpour Your grace –
we pray all this in the Name of Jesus.
We love You, heavenly Father, help
us to walk in holiness and love doing
Thy holy will.
John 17: 20-21
I pray not only for these
but also for those
who through their teaching
will come to believe in me.
May they all be one,
just as, Father, you are in me
and I am in you,
so that they also may be in us,
so that the world may believe
it was you who sent me.
When Jesus saw the crowd all about him he gave orders to leave for the other side. One of the scribes then came up and said to him, 'Master, I will follow you wherever you go.' Jesus said, 'Foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of man has nowhere to lay his head.' Another man, one of the disciples, said to him, 'Lord, let me go and bury my father first.' But Jesus said, 'Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their dead.'
R. Simplicity – to be alone with God – We
see Jesus went off to pray to His Father –
look at all the noise and TV shows,
internet – busy, busy, busy –
We need to have a deep, interior
relationship with God.
St. Ignatius talks about letting go of
in ordinate attachments. Surely
an attachment to seeing oneself as
a victim from the past, must be let go of.
We are members of groups, people in
families, members in the body of Christ –
in union in the Father's family.
Having a goal of being safe so
we isolate from other human
beings and live in a box is
not following the plan of our
heavenly Father. God said in Genesis
man should not be alone –
We see the power Jesus had –
walking on water, power over
sickness, nature, demons, sin –
Jesus is God – God is Divine –
Our strength lies in God –
not ourselves!!
You know we need money to operate
and pay our bills, but how much
money is in heaven – how much
money do you take with you?
Look at the Poverty of Bethlehem.
Excerpt
of Father Carter's Talk
February 18, 2000
...I think all of you here at China give a great witness to life of Jesus, Mary and Joseph at Nazareth and to the birthplace of Jesus in Bethlehem. Your life is so simple. It is so hidden and yet like the life of Jesus at Nazareth, it is meant to be redemptive. His life certainly was redemptive those first 33 years of His existence. And I think I said in a homily to you some months ago, that if we had it to plan we certainly would have arranged, I’m sure all of us, Jesus’ life here on earth differently. I don’t think in the depths of our heart if we’re honest with ourselves, if the Father says, “you map out the way you think Jesus, My Son, should live here below in the time allotted,” who of us, who of us would have had Him hidden away for 10/11ths of that mortal life span. We would have given much more time to His public life. And here Jesus under the Father teaches us a great lesson—that we share in His redemptive efforts proportionate to the depth of our love and as that life of love is supported by faith and hope so Jesus takes the most humble places and He takes the most simple living people and He uses those simple places and those simple people to accomplish great things. So glory in your existence here at China, in its hiddenness and ask for the faith to realize more and more the great good you are doing for the Movement and the Church and the world.
...And so your life here at China is in such great imitation of Jesus, Mary and Joseph at Nazareth and such great saints as St. Therese of Lisieux, those saints who lived such a hidden existence. And so first of all I thank you for persevering in this life. I think I have some more than ordinary insight into the greatness you are contributing towards the Movement and the Church and the world. So I thank you very profusely and I also highly encourage you to persevere in this life and to pray for the grace to get a deepened insight into just how great your life is here at China for the cause of Christ....
So in summary, thank you for persevering in your life here. Secondly, pray for a deepened insight into the greatness of your life here, what it means for the Church, the Movement and the world. And thirdly, pray for a great sense of joy for the vocation, the calling Jesus has given you, at least at this time of your life, to your life here in China.

Song: Teach Me to Love with Your Heart
Act of consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
and the Immaculate Heart of Mary
Lord Jesus, Chief Shepherd of the flock, I consecrate myself to Your most Sacred Heart. From Your pierced Heart the Church was born, the Church You have called me, as a member of Shepherds of Christ Associates, to serve in a most special way. You reveal Your Heart as a symbol of Your love in all its aspects, including Your most special love for me, whom You have chosen as Your companion in this most important work. Help me to always love You in return. Help me to give myself entirely to You. Help me always to pour out my life in love of God and neighbor! Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in You!
Dear Blessed Virgin Mary, I consecrate myself to your maternal and Immaculate Heart, this Heart which is symbol of your life of love. You are the Mother of my Savior. You are also my Mother. You love me with a most special love as a member of Shepherds of Christ Associates, a movement created by your Son as a powerful instrument for the renewal of the Church and the world. In a return of love, I give myself entirely to your motherly love and protection. You followed Jesus perfectly. You are His first and perfect disciple. Teach me to imitate you in the putting on of Christ. Be my motherly intercessor so that, through your Immaculate Heart, I may be guided to an ever closer union with the pierced Heart of Jesus, Chief Shepherd of the flock.

Guiding Light — The Soul Who Could. — Cycle A for 2016/2017 $10.00 |

|
Guiding Light homily series — Reflect on the Word — Cycle B The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand. $15 |
Guiding Light homily series — Steadfast to the Son — Cycle A The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $15 |
Guiding Light — Focusing on the Word — Cycle B At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $15 |
Guiding Light — Feed My Soul — Cycle C In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $15 |

Priestly Newsletter — 2000 #1 — CD. — Christ is Our Strength — Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. read it the year he died. It is so beautiful. "This brief passage contains one of the greatest lessons of the spiritual life. As we progress along our spiritual journey, we become increasingly aware of how weak we are in our—selves, but how strong we are in Christ. To experience our weakness involves suffering. The degree and kind of suffering can vary. The suffering can include the experience of the classical dark night of the spirit as described by St. John of the Cross. One of the main purposes of the dark night is to make a person keenly aware of his or her helplessness without God." quote by Fr. Carter from the newsletter $10 |
