Galatians 2: 19-20
...I have been crucified with Christ and yet I am alive; yet it is no longer I, but Christ living in me.
I want to focus on the contemplative in
action —
Focus on our role as baptized Catholics
members of the body of Christ
A smooth ride — many cars promise and
as the car gets older — the ride may
not be as nice
In the spiritual life as the ride gets older
after being baptized and lots of
communions and penances — and knowing
God more deeply the road should be
even better.
What a gift God gives to us to give us this
special sharing in His life in
baptism.
1 Timothy 1: 12-17
I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength. By calling me into his service he has judged me trustworthy, even though I used to be a blasphemer and a persecutor and contemptuous. Mercy, however, was shown me, because while I lacked faith I acted in ignorance; but the grace of our Lord filled me with faith and with the love that is in Christ Jesus. Here is a saying that you can rely on and nobody should doubt: that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. I myself am the greatest of them; and if mercy has been shown to me, it is because Jesus Christ meant to make me the leading example of his inexhaustible patience for all the other people who were later to trust in him for eternal life. To the eternal King, the undying, invisible and only God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Exodus 32: 7-11, 13-14
Yahweh then said to Moses, ‘Go down at once, for your people whom you brought here from Egypt have become corrupt. They have quickly left the way which I ordered them to follow. They have cast themselves a metal calf, worshipped it and offered sacrifice to it, shouting, "Israel, here is your God who brought you here from Egypt!" ’ Yahweh then said to Moses, ‘I know these people; I know how obstinate they are! So leave me now, so that my anger can blaze at them and I can put an end to them! I shall make a great nation out of you instead.’
Moses tried to pacify Yahweh his God. ‘Yahweh,’ he said, ‘why should your anger blaze at your people, whom you have brought out of Egypt by your great power and mighty hand?
Remember your servants Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to whom you swore by your very self and made this promise: "I shall make your offspring as numerous as the stars of heaven, and this whole country of which I have spoken, I shall give to your descendants, and it will be their heritage for ever." ’ Yahweh then relented over the disaster which he had intended to inflict on his people.
How about a smooth ride?
Well we see Jesus born in a stable and
hanging on a tree at the end —
covered with Blood
Jesus shows us by His life how the New
Adam obeyed the Father's will to
His death on the cross
The struggle in the garden — sweating
Blood — while the Apostles slept —
do we sleep while Jesus keeps trying to
give us a tune-up and not
listen —
Are we sleeping when God wants to give
us big lessons that are hard
and miss the gift given
I have this to say —
My life is lived to be more identified
with Christ —
to be as St. Paul says —
Galatians 2: 19-20
...I have been crucified with Christ and yet I am alive; yet it is no longer I, but Christ living in me.
Saying yes to God
Doing His will — not ours opposed to God
Following His plan
Loving His will for we want the
Father's Plan
Being transformed more and more into
the image and likeness of God —
Having the light in us — where
we live as Christ dwells
in us in the world
Being united to the Holy Sacrifice
of the Mass going on around
the world
Our life being an offering — a
more pure sacrifice as I
(the poor banished child of Adam and
Eve)
dwell in the Pure Hearts of the
New Adam and New Eve —
the Hearts of greatest love —
Dwelling in Their Hearts where I taste
of the riches of greater purity
Sucking at the fountain of His
grace being outpoured to me
at the Mass —
being saturated with His grace
as I sit before the tabernacle
and the Divine God is truly
present in His Divinity and humanity
Remember
"Christ has no body now but yours"
One in Him —
Being one in Him in the Mass
Being one in Him in our lives —
lived in this deep mystical
marriage to my precious God
What does it mean to be one —
I have a smoother ride —
The more I fill my car with the
Father's will and ride in
love
Every moment of my life more
united in deep oneness with
the Trinity —
Coming through the Immaculate Heart
of my Mother
In union with all the angels and saints —
praying united with the souls in purgatory —
God has called us to live deeply united lives
as brothers and sisters in this mission
spreading the Good News to the
world —
You say —
oh there is so much pain and suffering
I say what Mary says —
Be good
Focus on the precious souls —
Be empowered dwelling in her Immaculate
Heart
Put your family in the Hearts of Jesus and
Mary
Spread the Blood of Jesus on them —
- on our human family
We are members of the human race
We must love as God intends us to love
We must forgive
We must be other-focused
But we don't take care of other's
jobs to be nice when it isn't
God's will —
We do what it is — His will for us —
Laying down our lives to promote
the Kingdom of God means
Being deeply one with God in all
our actions
One with God united to the Mass —
being deep intercessors —
If it is not God's will for me to go
to China, Indiana and
Florida now — I do what
God wants of me here —
being deeply one with Him in my
soul —
Offering my life and all I do as a
holy sacrifice — trying to
please the Father —
living according to His will
Saying no to others who have a plan for me
(not God's will) — when God wants me
doing something else —
I do God's will in love —
I can pray for situations and souls
All over the world —
In the Shepherds of Christ prayers we pray for
all the souls all over the world —
we are one — united to the Masses
going on around the world —
offering up our lives as a prayer
for the sake of souls —
what is Lent all about —
We die to the ways that are not what
God wants —
We live our vocation — God has called
us to - in love - serving to please
Him
What ever hat we put on — we
are putting on the hat God
wants us to wear
But we are acting as Christ
wants us to — in the world
God lives in the graced baptized soul
in a special way
We have been called to service
of God's Kingdom
through baptism
Putting on a snarly, grouchy
selfish face is not spreading
God's light when we even go to
the grocery, or church or the store.
You say —
"well you will wear - me out —"
I say —
What wears us out is when we give
into our tainted human
natures —
like not doing God's will because
we are angry
we are jealous
we are envious
we are lustful
we are slothful
we are prideful
It is like hitting your head on a
concrete wall and saying why
"does my head hurt?"
So God gives us a path —
we get in the car —
Somebody wants us to clean their backyard —
and it isn't God's will for us —
We just say "no" we can't and
then keep on God's road for us
that day
