Pray for Chuck, Bob & other intentions.

Consecration Prayer for Peace
I consecrate Russia and the Ukraine to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
I further consecrate the priests, the Church and the world to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary.
I do this in the name of Jesus in as far as I am able, united to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, praying to the Father, in the Holy Spirit, with all the angels and saints and the souls in purgatory through the powerful intercession of Mary, Queen of Peace. Amen.
I further consecrate myself, all members of my family and ask the Holy Spirit to fill us. I spread the Blood of Jesus on all above, I cast the devil into hell away from all of us and consecrate all persons, in as far as I am able, to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart.
Prayer for Grace for Election and our Country
Dear Father united to Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Sacrifice of Calvary sacramentally made present, celebrated around the world, in the Holy Spirit. We offer up all we do united to the Mass. We unite in one mind and one heart as members of the mystical body of Christ, with Christ our head in the pure and holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary, through the powerful intercession of Mary with all the angels and saints and souls in purgatory, and we beg for the saving grace, for our country, the United States. Please help us. We further pray for unity to always do the will of God in love. We spread the Blood of Jesus on the leaders and people of the United States and cast the devil into hell. We consecrate our country to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and all our dioceses, and beg for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God help us. We pray for our families, the priests, the Church and the world. In the Name of Jesus please hear us, we pray. We pray for our president and leaders. We pray that we are united as one nation under God to work together in love as God wants.

ANNIVERSARY
June 30, 2000
Feast of the Sacred Heart
John 19: 31-37
The pierced Christ
It was the Day of Preparation, and to avoid the bodies’ remaining on the cross during the Sabbath—since that Sabbath was a day of special solemnity—the Jews asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies taken away. Consequently the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first man who had been crucified with him and then of the other. When they came to Jesus, they saw he was already dead, and so instead of breaking his legs one of the soldiers pierced his side with a lance; and immediately there came out blood and water. This is the evidence of one who saw it—true evidence, and he knows that what he says is true—and he gives it so that you may believe as well. Because all this happened to fulfil the words of scripture:Not one bone of his will be broken;
and again, in another place scripture says:
They will look to the one
whom they have pierced.
Fr. Carter's homily: The time of the great stock market crash in 1929, there are stories of how many people committed suicide jumping from windows to their death and no doubt taking many other forms of suicide. These no doubt were those who, at least many of them had lost a great amount of money in the crash of the stock market. They had made god their money, and when that money was destroyed, lost, they felt life was useless. Some people do not make money so much their god as some other human person. They put their quest for happiness in a wrong way in another human person. For instance, and we've heard of it many, many times: a woman devotes her whole life lovingly with such great dedication to her husband and after thirty or forty years the husband suddenly says, "I want a divorce," and walks away from her. Because she had approached the relationship in a wrong way, making him a little god, her life is now shattered. Others put their god in achievement of a great goal, whatever it may be. They carefully plan for it, so carefully that they say, "This cannot fail, I know I will achieve this goal." They find out that they are not in control of this world's events and that goal is not achieved, and again their whole life–because they have sought fulfillment in the wrong way–their whole life lies shattered, so they think, as a bunch, as a pile of burnt-out ashes at their feet. We have been given the gift of faith and we know the goal, the God that we should seek, it is the God revealed to us in Christ Jesus.
Pope John Paul II reminds us in one of his writings that the only source of happiness, of fulfillment, of salvation, is going to the pierced Heart of Jesus, and these words then I work very well off of today's Gospel, where we read how Jesus' side was pierced with the soldier's lance. And the Holy Father also brings very beautifully in the place of the Heart of Mary in all this, so as we look forward to the great Feast of the Immaculate Heart tomorrow, the words of the Pope allow us to admirably join the two feasts. Today is the Feast of the Sacred Heart and tomorrow the Feast of the Immaculate Heart.
The Holy Father says, "The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus reminds us, above all, of those moments when this Heart was ‘pierced by the lance,’ and, thereby, opened in a visible manner to man and the world. By reciting the litany and venerating the Divine Heart in general, we learn the mystery of the Redemption in all its divine and human profundity."
And the Pope also speaks to us about the heart of Mary: "The Immaculate Heart of Mary was open to the word, ‘Woman, there is your son.’ It went to meet spiritually the Heart of the Son opened by the soldier’s lance. The heart of Mary was opened by the same love for man and for the world with which Christ loved man and the world, offering up himself on the cross, even to that lance stroke from the soldier.
"Consecrating the world to the Immaculate heart of Mary means approaching the same Source of Life, through the Mother’s Intercession, that life which flowed forth from Golgatha, the source which gushes out ceaselessly with redemption and grace. Reparation for the sins of the world is continually being accomplished in it. It is ceaselessly the font of new life and holiness.
"Consecrating the world to the Immaculate Heart of the Mother means returning under the Cross of the Son. More: it means consecration of this world to the pierced Heart of the Savior, by bringing the world back to the very source of its Redemption. Redemption is always greater than man’s sin and ‘the sin of the world.’ The power of Redemption infinitely surpasses the whole range of evil in man and in the world.
"The Heart of the Mother is aware of it, more than anyone in the whole cosmos, visible and invisible. This is why she calls. She does not call only to conversion; she also calls upon us to let ourselves be helped by her, the Mother, to return to the source of the Redemption."

The Baptism of Jesus
1. Luke 3: 21-23
Jesus is baptised
Now it happened that when all the people had been baptised and while Jesus after his own baptism was at prayer, heaven opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in a physical form, like a dove. And a voice came from heaven, ‘You are my Son; today have I fathered you.’
When he began, Jesus was about thirty years old, being the son, as it was thought, of Joseph son of Heli,
2. From Fr. Carter’s homilies:
“St. John of the Cross
reminds us in a
very
summary statement of
this,
In one of his writings he
says, 'What does it profit
you to give God
one thing
if He asks for another?
Consider what it is God
wants and
then do it.'
Very few words but what
profound teaching.”
3. Matthew 7:21
‘It is not anyone who says to me, "Lord, Lord," who will enter the kingdom of Heaven, but the person who does the will of my Father in heaven.
4. Jesus began His public
life with the
Baptism of
Jesus.
5. The sky was thrown
open and our precious
Heavenly Father said,
“This
is My beloved Son,
in whom I am well
pleased.”
6. We see Jesus always did
the Father’s will.
7. Mary loved the Father’s
will.
8. Adam and Eve disobeyed
God’s will.
9. Disobedience to the
Father’s will has
consequences.
10. We follow in Jesus’
footsteps doing the
Father’s will.
“This is My beloved Son,
in whom I am well
pleased.
John 3:16
For this is how God loved the world:
he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him
may not perish
but may have eternal life.
These are the mysteries of
light. When God's light is
in us we show that
light to
others.
The Marriage at Cana
1. John
2: 1-10
On the third day there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee. The mother of Jesus was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited. And they ran out of wine, since the wine provided for the feast had all been used, and the mother of Jesus said to him, ‘They have no wine.’ Jesus said, ‘Woman, what do you want from me? My hour has not come yet.’ His mother said to the servants, ‘Do whatever he tells you.’ There were six stone water jars standing there, meant for the ablutions that are customary among the Jews: each could hold twenty or thirty gallons. Jesus said to the servants, ‘Fill the jars with water,’ and they filled them to the brim. Then he said to them, ‘Draw some out now and take it to the president of the feast.’ They did this; the president tasted the water, and it had turned into wine. Having no idea where it came from—though the servants who had drawn the water knew—the president of the feast called the bridegroom and said, ‘Everyone serves good wine first and the worse wine when the guests are well wined; but you have kept the best wine till now.’
2. Fr. Carter says, "There
are so many lives
of the
saints which are at
witness to this hidden life
of Jesus."
3. God calls us to live
according to His Plan, His
will.
4. Jesus lived the quiet life
for 30 years. Jesus lived
the public life
for 3 years.
5. Our lives are to be lives
likened to Christ, following
Jesus.
6. God has a Plan for our
lives. Every day we must
seek what God's will
is for
us.
He has perfect timing.
7. God has called us in this
Movement, Shepherds of
Christ, in different
levels
to serve in this vocation.
8. We should pray for the
grace to get a deepened
insight into just how
great
our life has been blessed
in this Movement and be
grateful to Him.
9. God's ways are not our
ways, many times, His
thoughts are not our
thoughts.
10. God looks first of all to
the depth of love, a love of
His will, the
depth of
loving conformity to His
will - this is how He
measures the
success of a
life.
The Kingdom of God
1. John
18: 36-37
Jesus replied, ‘Mine is not a kingdom of this world; if my kingdom were of this world, my men would have fought to prevent my being surrendered to the Jews. As it is, my kingdom does not belong here.’ Pilate said, ‘So, then you are a king?’ Jesus answered, ‘It is you who say that I am a king. I was born for this, I came into the world for this, to bear witness to the truth; and all who are on the side of truth listen to my voice.’
2. Here is words from Fr.
Carter February
18, 2000
at a daily Mass in China,
Indiana.
"So in summary, thank you
for preserving
in your life
here. Secondly, pray for a
deepened insight into the
greatness of your life here,
what it means, for the
church, the
movement,
and the world. And thirdly,
pray for a great sense of
joy
for the vocation, the
calling Jesus, has given
you, and least at
this time
of your life, to your life,
here in China."
3. Fr. Carter continues:
Holy Family of Nazareth
pray for us.
4. Fr. Carter continues:
Heavenly Father, I ask
your most special
blessings on your
specially chosen ones
here as I have just put
before them, and
requesting them,
suggesting to them to
pray for an increased light
of their
greatness, here
and strength to live by
that light.
5. Fr. Carter continues: "So
I ask You
Heavenly Father
abundantly to give them
that grace. Give them
great
sense of peace and
joy here, despite the trials
they have to endure as
Your Son, Jesus, showed
us suffering, even deep
suffering is not
contrary to
peace in the Lord."
6. Fr. Carter continues:
"Father, let them
know how
special they are to You.
Bless them most
abundantly now, and
all
the days of their life."
7. Fr. Carter continues:
"Father, I put this
petition
before you through your
Son Jesus, in the Holy
Spirit with the
prayerful
assistance of Mary our
Mother. Amen."
8. Fr. Carter continues:
"May the Blessing of
Almighty God,
Father, Son
and Holy Spirit descend
upon you and remain
forever.
Amen."
9. Put the message given
to Fr. Carter.
July 31, 1994
Words of Jesus to Members of Shepherds of Christ Associates:
"My beloved priest-companion, I intend to use the priestly newsletter, Shepherds of Christ, and the movement, Shepherds of Christ Associates, in a powerful way for the renewal of My Church and the world.
"I will use the newsletter and the chapters of Shepherds of Christ Associates as a powerful instrument for spreading devotion to My Heart and My Mother's Heart.
"I am calling many to become members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. To all of them I will give great blessings. I will use them as instruments to help bring about the triumph of the Immaculate Heart and the reign of My Sacred Heart. I will give great graces to the members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. I will call them to be deeply united to My Heart and to Mary's Heart as I lead them ever closer to My Father in the Holy Spirit."
- Message from Jesus to Father Edward J. Carter, S.J., Founder, as given on July 31, 1994,
feast of Saint Ignatius Loyola, Founder of the Society of Jesus (The Jesuits)
10. Like the Apostles that
did not understand what
Jesus said before He
died:
Fr. Carter was opened up
with cancer months later
and died before
the year
was over.
Do we understand his
sorrow to know God's
calling for us and have to
leave?
Think of Fr. Carter's desire
to reach us with all his
heart.
He said Shepherds of
Christ would go down in
history as one of the
great
movements to
renew the Church and the
world.
The Transfiguration
1.
Mark 9: 2-8
Six days later, Jesus took with him Peter and James and John and led them up a high mountain on their own by themselves. There in their presence he was transfigured: his clothes became brilliantly white, whiter than any earthly bleacher could make them. Elijah appeared to them with Moses; and they were talking to Jesus. Then Peter spoke to Jesus, ‘Rabbi,’ he said, ‘it is wonderful for us to be here; so let us make three shelters, one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.’ He did not know what to say; they were so frightened. And a cloud came, covering them in shadow; and from the cloud there came a voice, ‘This is my Son, the Beloved. Listen to him.’ Then suddenly, when they looked round, they saw no one with them any more but only Jesus.
2. Jesus had worked many
miracles, but never
showed them an event like
the Transfiguration.
3. Jesus has gifted us so
much in this Movement.
4. On March 29, 1998 it
was the anniversary for
the Servants and
Handmaids of the Good
Shepherd.
5. Jesus did not give up
His mission based on the
trials He had. He
endured
His mission as the Father
intended Him to.
6. 1 Samuel 3:9-11
and he said to Samuel, ‘Go and lie down, and if someone calls say, "Speak, Yahweh; for your servant is listening." ’ So Samuel went and lay down in his place.
Yahweh then came and stood by, calling as he had done before, ‘Samuel! Samuel!’ Samuel answered, ‘Speak, Yahweh; for your servant is listening.’ Yahweh then said to Samuel, 'I am going to do something in Israel which will make the the ears of all who hear of it ring.
7. Fr. Carter says in that
same homily:
“This should
be the way we approach
prayer, with other attitudes,
of
course, but this is a very
key attitude. Often we rush
into prayer and
we, as it
were, start the dialogue
with God. "Jesus, Father,
Holy
Spirit, I need this, I
want this, etc. etc." We
should always open our
prayer, continue our
prayer, and end our
prayer with this basic
idea of
openness: "Lord,
what do you want of me?
Speak, Lord, your servant
is
listening."
8. Fr. Carter continues: 23
years ago - "Jesus - as we
are soon going to
see as
we approach Holy Week
and Good Friday, His
passion and death -
Jesus
sought the Father's will in
everything, and He did it
perfectly in
perfect love in
everything, even to the
brutal death on the cross."
9. Song: A Song from Jesus
10. In the Lord's Prayer it
says..."your
will be done,
on earth, as it is in
heaven."
The Institution of the Eucharist
1. Mark 14: 22-25
And as they were eating he took bread, and when he had said the blessing he broke it and gave it to them. ‘Take it,’ he said, ‘this is my body.’ Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he handed it to them, and all drank from it, and he said to them, ‘This is my blood, the blood of the covenant, poured out for many. In truth I tell you, I shall never drink wine any more until the day I drink the new wine in the kingdom of God.’
2. John 15:16
You did not choose me,
no, I chose you;
and I commissioned you
to go out and to bear fruit,
fruit that will last;
so that the Father will give you
anything you ask him in my name.
3. Fr. Carter says: "Of
course it is the
Eucharist,
which gives us the chief
source of grace to fulfill
the
choice Jesus has
made of each of us to
such a high degree."
4. He continues: "The
Saints - they depended
upon that same Eucharist,
and they so admirably
fulfilled the mission
attached to 'Jesus', choice
of them because they
used those graces of the
Eucharist in such eminent
fashion."
5. He continues:
And so, each day as we
offer the Eucharistic
Sacrifice along with Jesus
and as we receive Him at
communion time, let us
ask him:"
Dear Jesus, in Your great,
tender love You have
chosen me for such a
special mission to be
fulfilled here below. Allow
me to respond to Your
choice with the greatest
enthusiasm, commitment,
vigor, and
effectiveness
which Your grace will
allow me."
6. "Jesus, thank You for
choosing me."
7. A Prayer for Intimacy with the Lamb, the Bridegroom of the Soul
Oh Lamb of God, Who take away the sins of the world, come and act on my soul most intimately. I surrender myself, as I ask for the grace to let go, to just be as I exist in You and You act most intimately on my soul. You are the Initiator. I am the soul waiting Your favors as You act in me. I love You. I adore You. I worship You. Come and possess my soul with Your Divine Grace, as I experience You most intimately.
8. A Prayer Before the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass
Let me be a holy sacrifice and unite with God in the sacrament of His greatest love.
I want to be one in Him in this act of love, where He gives Himself to me and I give myself as a sacrifice to Him. Let me be a holy sacrifice as I become one with Him in this my act of greatest love to Him.
Let me unite with Him more, that I may more deeply love Him. May I help make reparation to His adorable Heart and the heart of His Mother, Mary. With greatest love, I offer myself to You and pray that You will accept my sacrifice of greatest love. I give myself to You and unite in Your gift of Yourself to me. Come and possess my soul.
Cleanse me, strengthen me, heal me. Dear Holy Spirit act in the heart of Mary to make me more and more like Jesus.
Father, I offer this my sacrifice, myself united to Jesus in the Holy Spirit to You. Help me to love God more deeply in this act of my greatest love.
Give me the grace to grow in my knowledge, love and service of You and for this to be my greatest participation in the Mass. Give me the greatest graces to love You so deeply in this Mass, You who are so worthy of my love.
-Mass Book, December 27, 1995
9. Prayer for Union with Jesus
Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.
I am Yours to possess. I am Yours to use. I want to be selfless and only exist in You. Help me to spoon out all that is me and be an empty vessel ready to be filled by You. Help me to die to myself and live only for You. Use me as You will. Let me never draw my attention back to myself. I only want to operate as You do, dwelling within me.
I am Yours, Lord. I want to have my life in You. I want to do the will of the Father. Give me the strength to put aside the world and let You operate my very being. Help me to act as You desire. Strengthen me against the distractions of the devil to take me from Your work.
When I worry, I have taken my focus off of You and placed it on myself. Help me not to give in to the promptings of others to change what in my heart You are making very clear to me. I worship You, I adore You and I love You. Come and dwell in me now.
-God's Blue Book, January 17, 1994

Guiding Light homily series — Reflect on the Word — Cycle B The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand. $10 |
Guiding Light homily series — Steadfast to the Son — Cycle A The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $10 |
Guiding Light — Focusing on the Word — Cycle B At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $10 |
Guiding Light — Feed My Soul — Cycle C In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $10 |
