Jesus: Trust in Me
In the valley of tears, there is a tomorrow
I am the God of life
I call you to happiness and joy
I love you with an unshakeable love
Trust in Me and have peace
When the sun comes up over the mountains
you can gasp at its beauty
the blue sky and the sun going
over the high mountain
You know of the grand abyss
and the depth of the ocean
The life beneath the sea
Miracles My child surround you
and you do not see, My hand
in the life in a tiny blade of grass
The flowers come they flower and fade
and I care for the lilies of the
field in all their glory
A night came so richly blessed showing
My love for you and the sign
of the Father, the star at
Bethlehem
Man has learned to water down My Might
My dying and rising shows you the
miracles of life
I died for you, but I rose on the 3rd
day
Men do not get it they need to study
the pascal mystery and they
would never fear
I died that you would be able
to share in My life
for you to be able to have
abundant grace more
and more
Don't be afraid or worry what you are
to wear Your heavenly Father
clothes you human creatures with
all your beauty
Look at the beauty of the children
the babies
Look at the knowledge they acquire
in their little brains
You worry child for naught
I am with you in it all
I love you with an unshakeable love
Focus on this now
My love doesn't run out
My attentiveness to you is constant
you worry needlessly
Do what I tell you and you
will be okay
Trust in Me
I give you peace, love and joy
When the morning steels across a dark
sky and the veil of night
passes
a new day
Always - I am making things new
for you
unless you lock your mind,
yourself in a cellar
You are the men, some of you, who stay
in the tombs, the rock is rolled
back
I give you a sharing in My life
in baptism
Come out of your tombs
See the gifts I give you
Know I am with you always
every moment of the day
R. Oh the gifts He gives us and we treat it as
if it is of little account
I have heard Him say "you worry about
the gifts you give to others and
if they thanked you"
Jesus: "I am the giver of your gifts and
what some accuse others
of they are most ungrateful
to Me using My gifts
for their own vain glory
glory they want and power."
Jesus: You creatures are so blind in your
vision
I came to this earth
I took flesh
I taught you
I gave you My teachings
I gave you Myself
I am the Word
I died for you
I rose for you
I am truly present in the
Eucharist in My Divinity
and humanity and many
never thank Me as you should
I am a God of justice
what you do to others will be
done to you
You are to love
To give gifts from your heart of love
to promote My Kingdom
Gifts I gave to you but you
must want to do God's
will with these gifts to be
happy
The answer to everything is:
"Is this God's will?"
If it is do it, in suffering
and in joy
Do God's will in love as I
showed you to My death
on the cross
A man ate a wonderful meal and when
he was done he got up and left
he never said thanks to those
who gave him such a generous gift
Day after day, the host offered another
feast to the man, once again
he ate and got up and left
no thanks and he did this
great ingratitude day after day
I give you My Body and Blood everyday
you come and receive Me
I am the Bread of Life
I give you My Word
I chose you to know all I have
taught you about Myself
You have been gifted by your
God to be "other" focused
to walk in love
to give generously
to love deeply as I have loved you
John 17: 20-23
I pray not only for these
but also for those
who through their teaching
will come to believe in me.
May they all be one,
just as, Father, you are in me
and I am in you,
so that they also may be in us,
so that the world may believe
it was you who sent me.
I have given them the glory
you gave to me,
that they may be one as we are one.
With me in them and you in me,
may they be so perfected in unity
that the world will recognise
that it was you who sent me
and that you have loved them
as you have loved me.
Jesus: Here is the mission of the Shepherds of Christ
Cling to Me
May 13, 1993
Jesus: My dear child, if you stay close to Me, then I live in you and you live in Me. I am He Who created you and I love you with such an intensity that you will never know. My words are your truth. You must abide in My heart in all things. There is no room for doubt. My ways are steadfast, direct, and without error.
You must stay rooted in Me to ward off the power of the evil one. His grip is paralyzing and crippling. His power is stronger every day.
When you live in Me, I am in your heart and he has no power over Me. I am your God. I am your true lover. I want to protect you. I want to guard you from this force. Stay rooted firmly in Me and he will have no power.
I am He Who comforts you. My hand is upon you. Hold tight to Me, My child. My eyes are fixed right on you. You are My most precious child. I love you as no other can. My arms are about you. My tenderness surrounds you. My love is in your heart. You go not alone. I walk with you.
I share every aspect of your life with you. Cling to Me, feel My presence. It is warm and secure within your chest. There is no room for fear, for I cast out fear and bring you comfort and joy.
end of May 13, 1993
Jesus: I give you gift, upon gift, upon gift
I ask you to help Me to do the work
I called you to
Be steadfast in your love
You were called by God to walk erect
because you know you walk
in His light
Your hearts are consumed with
love
Your back has the Light of Christ
shining on you
I am your rear guard
I am your fore guard
I am one in you
I give you My Body and My Blood
You share more and more abundantly
in My life
Where your earthly father or mother
may have not been exactly
perfect
God the Father created you
God the Father molded you
God the Father loves you so much
You are the little unique child of
the Father
Mary is your Mother
I give you My Mother to
mother you
I give you the angels and saints as
your intercessors and your friends
I give you your gifts
You can thank God by recognizing
they are given to give honor
and glory to God
From The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius,
by Louis J. Puhl, S.J. p. 12
23. FIRST PRINCIPLE AND FOUNDATION
Man is created to praise, reverence and serve God
our Lord, and by this means to save his soul.
Sing: Come to Me Lord
Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.
Jesus: A man went out to the highway and the
cars were busy, but he did
not see, the folly of men
rushing to and fro
he saw the world and he wanted
to follow their crazy whims
A second man went out and he
stood by the highway
there was an accident and he
knew the man probably died
others were beeping their horns because
the accident was stopping them
from their busy schedule
The man standing by the highway saw
one man die another shaking
their fist for being detained
Where was the heart of the angry guy
shaking his fist
and where was he going, anyway
I give you gifts and watch you shake
your fist at the man serving you
Some holler "get out of my way
I have a life going on"
You are called to serve men, to love men,
to follow in My footsteps to
realize all your gifts and talents
are gifts you should abundantly
thank God for and be anxious to share
with others to build My Kingdom
Your job is to love and show others
My love and My ways
Men can be very blind
Your life is a process
You live to learn every moment how
to love your God and how to love
others
to not be hurried, but to 'waste
time' with God and others
like this retreat
One man knocks off the head of
My statue
other people pray fervently 5 days
loving their God
Praying for the priests, the Church and
the world
Praying to make reparation for your
sins and the sins of men
Luke 18: 9-14
He spoke the following parable to some people who prided themselves on being upright and despised everyone else, Two men went up to the Temple to pray, one a Pharisee, the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood there and said this prayer to himself, "I thank you, God, that I am not grasping, unjust, adulterous like everyone else, and particularly that I am not like this tax collector here. I fast twice a week; I pay tithes on all I get." The tax collector stood some distance away, not daring even to raise his eyes to heaven; but he beat his breast and said, "God, be merciful to me, a sinner." This man, I tell you, went home again justified; the other did not. For everyone who raises himself up will be humbled, but anyone who humbles himself will be raised up.
Jesus: Man can work himself up, as though I
am not there, I give you these
gifts because I love you so much
How deep is your love
Love gives for the good of the other
The bitter heart focuses on what has
not been given to them and
then in retaliation acts further
in unloving ways
How deep does your love go?
I am your God
The Father, Son and Holy Spirit dwell in the
baptized graced soul in a
special way
Bitterness in the heart drives
you away from Me
I am love
To be loving - one is to pray for
and love your enemies
I died on the cross for your sins
You can see yourself as you truly
are a sinner and beg to
grow in greater holiness
I am holy
To be united to Me you must grow
in love and holiness
Bitterness in the heart drives you
from Me
Where your heart could have been
growing in the virtues
of faith, hope and love
When one is bitter in their heart
they drive themselves from
My pure Heart of love
further and further they go into
unforgiveness because the
devil is deep at work and what makes
you happy is a healthy heart of love
union with God intimacy with
God
As one becomes more and more bitter and
they drive themselves away from
God by unforgiveness
their heart becomes more hard and
they become angry for they are
opposing God's will of love
In hell there is all absence of love
In hell there is no union with God in love
Unforgiveness is unhappiness
you must pray for your persecutors
and love them
Some make their own beds of bitterness
and when they sleep in them they
become more bitter and angry
for their bitter bed they chose
to make for themselves
Make beds of love
Suffering will come with your
imperfections and others
Don't give into unloving
ways
Love as I have loved you
To My death I loved you
Sing: Choose Life

Deuteronomy 11: 18, 26-28, 32
'You must keep all the commandments which I enjoin on you today, so that you may have the strength to conquer the country into which you are about to cross, to take possession of it,
'Today, look, I am offering you a blessing and a curse: a blessing, if you obey the commandments of Yahweh your God which I enjoin on you today; a curse, if you disobey the commandments of Yahweh your God and leave the way which today I have marked out for you, by following other gods hitherto unknown to you.
and you must keep and observe all the laws and customs promulgated by me to you today.'
Psalm 31: 2-4, 17, 25
turn your ear to me, make haste.
Be for me a rock-fastness,
a fortified citadel to save me.
You are my rock, my rampart;
true to your name, lead me and guide me!
Draw me out of the net they have spread for me,
for you are my refuge;I call on you, Yahweh, so let disgrace fall not on me,
but on the wicked. Let them go down to Sheol in silence,Be brave, take heart, all who put your hope in Yahweh.
Romans 3: 21-25, 28
God's saving justice was witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, but now it has been revealed altogether apart from law: God's saving justice given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. No distinction is made: all have sinned and lack God's glory, and all are justified by the free gift of his grace through being set free in Christ Jesus. God appointed him as a sacrifice for reconciliation, through faith, by the shedding of his blood, and so showed his justness; first for the past, when sins went unpunished because he held his hand;
since, as we see it, a person is justified by faith and not by doing what the Law tells him to do.
Mark 7: 21-27
For it is from within, from the heart, that evil intentions emerge: fornication, theft, murdeAnd he said to her, 'The children should be fed first, because it is not fair to take the children's food and throw it to little dogs.'r, adultery, avarice, malice, deceit, indecency, envy, slander, pride, folly. All these evil things come from within and make a person unclean. He left that place and set out for the territory of Tyre. There he went into a house and did not want anyone to know he was there; but he could not pass unrecognised. At once a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit heard about him and came and fell at his feet. Now this woman was a gentile, by birth a Syro-Phoenician, and she begged him to drive the devil out of her daughter.

HOMILY
(Deuteronomy 11:18, 26-28, 32, Romans 3:21-25, 28, Matthew 7:21-27) Most of us think of Jesus as kind, sympathetic, loving, understanding, merciful, forgiving, gentle, meek, our friend, our brother, our helper. He is all of these and we like it that way. At times, however, because he is loving and caring, he has some strong things to say, things to shake us out of our apathy, our routine, our comfort level, and our complacency. I think todays reading is one of those hard sayings. It is hard because we dont like to hear that we might fail. Jesus tells us we either build our house on rock or we build our house on sand. There are no in-between situations. We can either build our life on him and we have stability, strength, and endurance, and we will survive. Or we can choose not to build our life on him. No matter what form that takes, no matter what we build on lives on, it is sand. It wont support us for long; it wont last; it will leave us in ruins. There is no in between ground. There is only rock or sand. There is obeying and following his word or not obeying and following it. This kind, sympathetic, loving, understanding, merciful, forgiving Lord tells us we have only two choices one that leads to life one that leads to ruin. There are no compromises.
When I work as a counselor, one of the things I try to be sensitive to is the value of compromise. A husband wants things his way; his wife wants it another. You try to figure out how they can both be satisfied, how they can compromise.
Here, however, there is no compromise between hearing the Lords words and obeying them or turning a deaf ear to them. We cant obey them partway; we cant obey what suits us and ignore the rest. This is common today. People say, I believe in God, but I dont have to go to church, or I dont do anything to hurt people (although I may not be doing anything to help people either), or I know what the Lord says about this or that, but he wont mind if I behave differently; he understands. Or just as bad: I dont know what the Lord says about this, but I feel like its all right. For some people religion can be a lot of talk and nothing else.
We can go through life saying, Lord, Lord but not doing the will of the Father. Saying I believe in God but not doing anything about it means nothing. Even if we could work miracles and cast out demons in his name, our life is built on sand if we do not hear this word and put it into practice.
The Lords words sound hard and they are, but they come from a loving, kind, sympathetic Lord who died to save us. He doesnt want to see us lost. [This Wednesday begins the season of Lent. For some people it means little more than getting ashes on Ash Wednesday and palms on Palm Sunday. If we take this time of year seriously, the Church calls us into a time of self-examination a time of scrutiny, a time to help us identify in our lives those compromises we slip into. It is a time of conversion and change (for the better), a time to make up for past failures and begin again; a time of more intense prayer, a time to hear Gods word and to try to a greater degree to build our lives upon it. We can make this season a time of renewal for ourselves and our family, or we can get through it without allowing any kind of spiritual change to disrupt us and our daily routine.
Our ashes this Wednesday remind us that there is nothing imperishable, nothing immortal, nothing eternal except God and the new life he gives us through his Son Jesus.
As Jesus tells us today, there is nothing we can build our lives on that will bring us this eternal life except to obey his word. This is the rock to build our life on; everything else is sand.
