Esther C, 12, 14-16, 23-25

My Lord, our King, the Only One,
come to my help, for I am alone
and have no helper but you
and am about to take my life in my hands.

I have been taught from infancy
in the bosom of my family
that you, Lord, have chosen
Israel out of all the nations
and our ancestors out of all before them,
to be your heritage for ever;
and that you have treated them
as you promised.

Remember, Lord; reveal yourself
in the time of our distress.

As for me, give me courage,
King of gods and Master of all powers!
Put persuasive words into my mouth
when I face the lion;
change his feeling into hatred for our enemy,
so that he may meet his end,
and all those like him!

As for ourselves, save us by your hand,
and come to my help, for I am alone
and have no one but you, Lord.

Novena to the Infant of Prague
(to be prayed hourly if possible)

          O Jesus, who said, "Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened to you," through the intercession of Mary, Your most holy Mother, I knock, I seek, I ask that my prayer be granted.

          O Jesus, who said, "All that you ask of the Father in My Name He will grant you," through the intercession of Mary, Your most holy Mother, I humbly and urgently ask Your Father in Your Name that my prayer be granted.

          O Jesus, who said, "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My word shall not pass," through the intercession of Mary, Your most holy Mother, I feel confident that my prayer will be granted.

                R. The Gospel tomorrow says
                    to ask and you will receive –
                    It ends with the Golden Rule

Everything is about LOVE –

God intends us to work together –

                We have a lifetime to learn to
                    love God with our whole heart,
                    our whole soul and our whole
                    being –

                When we love God, we can't help but want
                    to thank Him and adore Him
                    and worship Him – because we
                    love Him –

And we want to tell Him how much
we love Him –

                    The Golden rule here at the end of Matthew's
                Gospel tells us to treat others the way we
                would have them treat us and then
                it says
                "this sums up the law and the prophets".
                Matthew told us in Monday's Gospel, to be
                a follower of Christ we must go beyond
                being just and loving our brother,
                we must see Christ in them.

Matthew 25: 40, 34

And the King will answer, "In truth I tell you, in so far as you did this to one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did it to me."

Then the King will say to those on his right hand, "Come, you whom my Father has blessed, take as your heritage the kingdom prepared for you since the foundation of the world.

                R. We are to examine our conscience every day –
                    Fr. Carter said – two times a day –
                    and take our spiritual pulse –
                    See how we are living as God wants
                    us to live in loving God and
                    loving our brothers –

We go to God with a humble and open heart
and we pray for our needs.

                    We are learning about relationship here –
                God commands us to love Him with our
                whole heart, our whole soul, our whole
                being and to love our neighbor as
                ourselves –

Love gives from the heart –

Love is open –

                Love likes to see others doing God's
                    will in loving others and rejoices
                    when they see love among others –

                If a man gives to another, the person
                    assisting them is loving both the man
                    over him and the recipient also by
                    being obedient and giving love in
                    the actions they perform –

Ezekiel 18: 21-28

    'If the wicked, however, renounces all the sins he has committed, respects my laws and is law-abiding and upright, he will most certainly live; he will not die. None of the crimes he committed will be remembered against him from then on; he will most certainly live because of his upright actions. Would I take pleasure in the death of the wicked — declares the Lord Yahweh — and not prefer to see him renounce his wickedness and live?

    'But if the upright abandons uprightness and does wrong by copying all the loathsome practices of the wicked, is he to live? All his upright actions will be forgotten from then on; for the infidelity of which he is guilty and the sin which he has committed, he will most certainly die.

    ‘Now, you say, "What the Lord does is unjust." Now listen, House of Israel: is what I do unjust? Is it not what you do that is unjust? When the upright abandons uprightness and does wrong and dies, he dies because of the wrong which he himself has done. Similarly, when the wicked abandons wickedness to become law–abiding and upright, he saves his own life. Having chosen to renounce all his previous crimes, he will most certainly live: he will not die.

R. We will give an account to God for

our sins –
God calls us to give love –

When a man is virtuous his way is

                    loving – he loves his neighbor –
                    loving gives for the good of the other –
                    he loves people who are loving
                    others and being like Jesus –
                    he says – oh isn't that great
                    that they give kindness and the
                    other is the recipient –
                    he loves – he gives – he rejoices
                    when others love others as
                    God wants –

                He rejoices in kindness given to our
                    brothers – He knows what we
                    do to others – we do to Jesus –

                The man in darkness and hard in
                    heart is jealous – they are
                    enemies with other men –
                    they do not want others to

                    bring relationships to the floor –
                    they want to stop love –
                    they are envious of their brothers
                    and want unity and love to be stifled –

Matthew 5: 20-26

‘For I tell you, if your uprightness does not surpass that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never get into the kingdom of Heaven.

‘You have heard how it was said to our ancestors, You shall not kill; and if anyone does kill he must answer for it before the court. But I say this to you, anyone who is angry with a brother will answer for it before the court; anyone who calls a brother "Fool" will answer for it before the Sanhedrin; and anyone who calls him "Traitor" will answer for it in hell fire. So then, if you are bringing your offering to the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your offering there before the altar, go and be reconciled with your brother first, and then come back and present your offering. Come to terms with your opponent in good time while you are still on the way to the court with him, or he may hand you over to the judge and the judge to the officer, and you will be thrown into prison. In truth I tell you, you will not get out till you have paid the last penny.

                R. God tells us we are not to have division
                    with our brothers –
                    We want a loving relationship with
                        God –
                        giving Him our all – our whole being –
                        and seeing Jesus in our brothers –
                        we are loving, genuinely with
                        our brothers.

We need to be reconciled with God

                    for offenses we committed
                    against Him and others that were
                    unloving, done in malice of intent to
                    injure or hurt others –

We need to walk in love and be humble
in heart –

                We need to want to give love to God
                    and others with a kind and
                    humble heart –

                We are to live the life of consecration –
                    where we live because we give
                    our hearts, as hearts of love
                    to Jesus and Mary –

We consecrate our lives to the Holy Spirit –

We are consecrated to God –

We have a commitment, a covenant

                    with God – to be more and more
                    in His image and likeness –
                    to be loving – to live virtuously –
                    to serve God in love and
                    kindness – to
                    be more perfect as our Heavenly
                    Father is perfect –

Psalm 18: 8

Smoke rose from his nostrils,
from his mouth devouring fire
(coals were kindled at it).

Deuteronomy 26: 16-19

‘Yahweh your God commands you today to observe these laws and customs; you must keep and observe them with all your heart and with all your soul.

‘Today you have obtained this declaration from Yahweh: that he will be your God, but only if you follow his ways, keep his statutes, his commandments, his customs, and listen to his voice. And today Yahweh has obtained this declaration from you: that you will be his own people—as he has said—but only if you keep all his commandments; then for praise and renown and honour, he will raise you higher than every other nation he has made, and you will be a people consecrated to Yahweh, as he has promised.’

R. A man who lives by the commandments of
God is a happy man –

The Ten Commandments

1. I, the Lord, am your God. You shall not have other gods besides me.
  2. You shall not take the name of the Lord, your God, in vain.
  3. Remember to keep holy the Sabbath day.
  4. Honor your father and your mother.
  5. You shall not kill.
  6. You shall not commit adultery.
  7. You shall not steal.
  8. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
  9. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife.
  10. You shall not covet anything that belongs to your neighbor.

                R. Our goal should be to be more and more
                    in the image of Jesus –
                    our goal should be to be
                        what God the Father intended
                        us to be.

We are to be sorry for our sins and
make amends for our sins –

We are to grow in love and be more
perfect as our heavenly Father is perfect.
