Progress in the mystical life, then
is centered in the increasingly
lived realization of this basic fact;
as Father, Son and Holy Spirit have
in love given themselves to us, together
with a created participation in their
life (our life of grace, we too make
a love gift of ourselves to them.)
God increasingly possesses our person —
more and more we become that reflection
of His life in us.
We are expressions of the infinite God.
Mysticism is at its heights in that
Spiritual marriage with our Divine
God.
How can we love God — who we do not
see, when we do not love our
neighbor who we do see —
Not being loving to God and others
is not genuinely loving ourselves —
Loving ourselves means we
are living in love as God intends —
Being unloving to others means we
aren't loving ourselves since
the greatest commandment
tells us we must love —
Praying as we do in the Shepherds of Christ
from our hearts is loving the priests,
the Church and the world.
Loving means we do not continue in
habits of jealousy, anger,
manipulation and control that lead
us away from God's will and
hurt others, provoking them, trying to
block the work God wants them to do
because of our jealousy and control —
Bad habits lead to vices and the more
we practice unloving ways the
more they are habits we do — like
practicing love and kindness lead
to virtuous living.
The old saying is "you are what you eat"
I say — you are how you are acting —
people constantly using passive-
aggressive measures to get control —
act habitually - withholding pertinent
information, they can become so
advanced in controlling - you cannot
even ask them a question about
a movie without them using this
information they have as power
Fr. Mike says — there are two roads
to Columbus —
like this there are two roads to get
authority over one in authority
ACTIVE AGGRESSION
PASSIVE AGGRESSION
anger, hollering,
this is aggression
name calling
the person passively
provokes
holds back information,
work —
to get power and
watch the other beg
Fr. Mike says
you must NAME your problem
CLAIM your problem
DUMP it
A person who is working in these
unloving ways —
not in harmony
not in order, but disorder
not in love
not according to the rules
Lives a miserable life
And they go deeper and deeper into
unloving ways that become vices —
like a person who does little habits
of controlling their free will, loving
acting in right reason — lives
a virtuous life
Being unloving is unloving to oneself —
it is saying to God — I don't want
your rules God — I don't want to
be like You God —
Fr. Mike says — if you go in a closet
you turn on the light or you
can't see
Getting away with these dark, dark
places in us, makes us miserable,
being in darkness, sin, is
depriving ourselves of the very
thing we were created for —
God
love
being in the light
1 John 4: 20
Anyone who says 'I love God'
and hates his brother,
is a liar,
since whoever does not love the brother
whom he can see
cannot love God whom he has not seen.
Fr. Carter says
To love God necessarily means to
love one's neighbor whose
existence possesses the divine
imprint.
Fr. Carter says
Furthermore, regarding the wrong
actions of anyone, I can and must
reject such actions, yet I can and
must love the core person who is
in God's image.
The focus of the mystic is love.
We are learning more and more how
God loves us — We have an ever
deeper response to how God loves
us.

to get control —
Where others just live, loving,
communicating, a passive-aggressive
person can become so adapt at
withholding information to get control —
wanting the other to beg them for
something — they live to be powerful
with information to cause conflict
and combat — to win an argument
by proving others who "just need a
paper" WRONG, WRONG, WRONG
and they want to be proved right —
Everything in their life is a competition to
prove they are right — over people just
living and trying to do a job.
