God is love and He intends us to
communicate with each other.
We want the Spirit of God to
move in love in the community and
family to help bring forth fruit for
the Kingdom, but the devil tries
to divide through imperfections
of the human creatures, the devil
through fallacious reasoning trying
to block communication with
people so they live in discord.
The Spirit of God can move in
a powerful way in a family, community
if they are united in love. Unfinished
business from old wounds can be
projected on others and can be tension
from the unresolved past which leads
to division with innocent others —
The devil in this division blocks
communication among people needing
to communicate to do God's work —
the devil attempts to block ways
in which the Spirit could move
powerfully in love in the community,
parish, family, to bring forth fruit for
the Kingdom.
The Spirit is the soul of the Church —
Mary is the Mother of the Church
The individual
The Church and
The world is in the state of becoming —
More pure —
as God intends
instruments of love, unity,
Fruitfulness —
Mary brought forth Jesus
Jesus is the FRUIT of the womb
The old EVE ate the forbidden FRUIT
God is love
God is light
The Persons of the Trinity are the
most perfect community
Holy Spirit come and fill us with
the fire of God's love —
renew the face of the earth —
breathe life into your people —
Let Your light shine in us.
We are working to be more perfected.
We are in the state of becoming.
The Spirit works within the individual
Christian, but He does this in a manner
which will not only bring the individual
to a full maturity in Christ, but will
also contribute towards the building
of the entire body which is the Church.
The Spirit works in us to strengthen
the community as we grow in deeper
maturity in Christ. The Spirit works
with Mary, mother of the Church, to
bring forth the Christ life in us.
The Spirit works in an individual
to help them to be more what they are
to be in their vocation. A vocation
of a mother is to be a mother not
be in Church praying all day ignoring
her children. A student is to study,
the Holy Spirit will help us to balance
our life to live our vocation. A
religious is to obey and live their
vocation as best they can, in serving
and prayer if they are to be guided
properly by the Spirit of God. We
can pray to the Holy Spirit to help us to
live our vocation as God desires us
to live our vocation.
It is God acting in us that we
are able to produce these fruits in
the Church.
It is more than just human love
that will help us to be happy —
True happiness is found in having
a relationship with God — we were
created to love — to love God and others —
to recognize how God loves us and love
ourselves as God desires.
The religious are called to live
deep lives of love — having a deep
relationship with God and from this
to be able to deeply love others.
The more we know ourselves — the
more we live in the truth, the more
we are open to the Spirit's actions
within us the more we can be
loving individuals. The more we
grow in love of God here in this life
and love of others here in this life
we are preparing ourselves for
heaven.
Love transforms us to be more
like the one we love. If we
give our attention to debased things
we will learn to desire that which is
not good. The more we give our lives
loving God and what is good — the
more we will become likened to
God. We are to work to be one in
the Lord, to pray to God and beg for His
grace. We seek to be more one in Him, to
live in greater self-surrendering
love to God.
We have a greater awareness how
Our Father loves us as His beloved
child. We long for the union we
will have with God to be wrapped
in God's embrace for
all eternity in the beatific vision.
Love can bring harmony, peace
to the world, to the Church —
The more we spread the love of the
Two Hearts — the more we will
help the world to have harmony
and peace.
The wounded children of Adam
and Eve dwelling in the pure and holy
Hearts of the New Adam, Jesus and the New Eve,
Mary will help us to be loving —
Satan wants division
Satan wants us to give into games people
play, get divorced and marriages
split up, this can lead to greater
complications — remarriages,
divorced homes, new marriages,
mom and dad don't live together,
mom remarries, has new babies,
more new marriages, split homes,
wounded hearts, crying children.
Think of the station — Jesus seeing the
women weeping on the way
to Calvary and He said —
weep not for me, but for
yourselves and your children —
Jesus knew all the divorces and
mixed marriages.
Luke 23: 28
But Jesus turned to them and said, ‘Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep rather for yourselves and for your children.
We must pray to the Holy Spirit to
counsel us so we do God's will
in our vocations and live in
the fire of God's love — that
religious communities, the Church,
parishes, communities, families are rooted
in love — the love of the Holy Spirit
in them — the truth be in them —
Love is more convincing than
anything — Love is a uniting force —
the love of God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit
If we really focused on the love of
these Two Hearts we could be dynamic
forces in all we do —
Not words — really giving ourselves
to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary begging
to be loving as God wants — The Holy Spirit
working in the Heart of Mary.
Why can't we let our love in
the Shepherds of Christ shine through the Priestly
Newsletter, the prayer chapters as we realize the
promise Jesus made to Fr. Carter —
to those who pray the prayers, He promised
to take us deeper into His Heart and Mary's
Heart
Fr. Carter had a dream.
July 31, 1994
Words of Jesus to Members of
Shepherds of Christ Associates:"My beloved priest-companion, I intend to use the priestly newsletter, Shepherds of Christ, and the movement, Shepherds of Christ Associates, in a powerful way for the renewal of My Church and the world.
"I will use the newsletter and the chapters of Shepherds of Christ Associates as a powerful instrument for spreading devotion to My Heart and My Mother's Heart.
"I am calling many to become members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. To all of them I will give great blessings. I will use them as instruments to help bring about the triumph of the Immaculate Heart and the reign of My Sacred Heart. I will give great graces to the members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. I will call them to be deeply united to My Heart and to Mary's Heart as I lead them ever closer to My Father in the Holy Spirit."
- Message from Jesus to Father Edward J. Carter, S.J., Founder, as given on July 31, 1994,
feast of Saint Ignatius Loyola, Founder of the Society of Jesus (The Jesuits)
We can focus on the transfiguration —
Jesus took them up the mountain and
showed them His transfigured body —
God gives us the sun to see with
its light — Mary's image appeared in sunny
Florida —
The more we go to the pure and holy
heart of Mary, the Spiritual Womb,
the more we are brought forth
children of light — Jesus' way of
love — devotion to His Sacred Heart —
love for the Eucharist can help to heal
the wounded — fill our churches and
our families with the love of the 2
Hearts of Jesus and Mary
Love is a powerful force
The Power is in the Eucharist —
Matthew 22: 36-40
'Master, which is the greatest commandment of the Law?' Jesus said to him, 'You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second resembles it: You must love your neighbour as yourself. On these two commandments hang the whole Law, and the Prophets too.'
Jesus asked Peter 3 times
John 21: 15-17
When they had eaten, Jesus said to Simon Peter, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me more than these others do?’ He answered, ‘Yes, Lord, you know I love you.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Feed my lambs.’ A second time he said to him, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me?’ He replied, ‘Yes, Lord, you know I love you.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Look after my sheep.’ Then he said to him a third time, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me?’ Peter was hurt that he asked him a third time, ‘Do you love me?’ and said, ‘Lord, you know everything; you know I love you.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Feed my sheep.
end of scripture
God is calling us to love —
To spread the devotion to the
2 Hearts of greatest love
To love like Jesus and Mary
To meditate on Their love in the
mysteries of the rosary —
In this we spread love in families,
churches, communities
Love is binding
God is love —
In giving us these writings — God is
teaching us about love —
to have a personal relationship
with Him
Jesus loves us so much
Do we believe this?
Love is a habit!!
We grow in loving ways
forgiving ways
Then loving becomes habitual!
One act of love, helps man to
be loving in the future —
hating, selfishness — helps us to
have habits of selfishness in the
future
Loving our vocation because God
wants us to love our vocation —
Selfishness - is not being like
Jesus who died for us on
the cross
Our Church should be telling us
about the gifts given there
to help us be loving —
Receiving so much grace to be
likened to Jesus
have deeper life in Him
Dwelling in the Hearts of Jesus and
Mary
Putting pictures of the Sacred
Heart and Mary's Heart in
our homes, in our pockets
Knowing we are loved so much
by God, but we are to be
united — love is not
selfish
God is love —
He does not intend us to chart an isolated
path
God intends us to walk hand-in-hand
Look at this picture
John 3: 16
For this is how God loved the world:
he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him
may not perish
but may have eternal life.
We could meditate on God's love
for us forever that Jesus,
the Son of God, took flesh and
came into the world in the
womb of Mary — conceived of
the Holy Spirit
God has revealed to us how much
He loves us —
He taught us how we are to
love each other
Jesus came to teach about love
We are to mature in our ways of
loving — not grow in
greater selfishness — trying
to get things MY WAY —
To have loving communities
1 Corinthians 13: 13
As it is, these remain: faith, hope, and love, the three of them; and the greatest of them is love.
Matthew 11: 29
Shoulder my yoke and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Jesus as man was perfectly humble —
Knowing the truth is knowing we
are God's creature —
We have a wounded human nature
We are imperfect
We are to be submissive to the Divine Will.
Humility is truth!!
Man must realize his creature hood —
Genesis 3: 4-6
Then the snake said to the woman, 'No! You will not die! God knows in fact that the day you eat it your eyes will be opened and you will be like gods, knowing good from evil.' The woman saw that the tree was good to eat and pleasing to the eye, and that it was enticing for the wisdom that it could give. So she took some of its fruit and ate it. She also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate it.
Luke 1: 46-55
The Magnificat
And Mary said:
My soul proclaims
the greatness of the Lord
and my spirit rejoices
in God my Saviour;
because he has looked upon
the humiliation of his servant.
Yes, from now onwards
all generations will call me blessed,
for the Almighty
has done great things for me.
Holy is his name,
and his faithful love extends age after age
to those who fear him.
He has used the power of his arm,
he has routed the arrogant of heart.
He has pulled down princes
from their thrones
and raised high the lowly.
He has filled the starving with good things,
sent the rich away empty.
He has come to the help
of Israel his servant,
mindful of his faithful love
—according to the promise
he made to our ancestors—
of his mercy to Abraham
and to his descendants for ever.
Sing: Holy Is His Name
Luke 18: 9-14
He spoke the following parable to some people who prided themselves on being upright and despised everyone else, ‘Two men went up to the Temple to pray, one a Pharisee, the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood there and said this prayer to himself, "I thank you, God, that I am not grasping, unjust, adulterous like everyone else, and particularly that I am not like this tax collector here. I fast twice a week; I pay tithes on all I get." The tax collector stood some distance away, not daring even to raise his eyes to heaven; but he beat his breast and said, "God, be merciful to me, a sinner." This man, I tell you, went home again justified; the other did not. For everyone who raises himself up will be humbled, but anyone who humbles himself will be raised up.’
Humility is truth, this does not
prevent us from acknowledging
our gifts of nature and grace;
it merely bids us to recognize
God as the source of these gifts!!
