1 Corinthians 15: 3-5

The tradition I handed on to you in the first place, a tradition which I had myself received, was that Christ died for our sins, in accordance with the scriptures, and that he was buried; and that on the third day, he was raised to life, in accordance with the scriptures; and that he appeared to Cephas; and later to the Twelve;

                R. We celebrate the mystery of the
                Resurrection for 50 days.

The Ascension and Pentecost are the
                final days.

1 Corinthians 5: 6-8

"Christ has become our paschal sacrifice, let us feat with joy in  the Lord"

It is indeed time for renewal –

Having gone through the days of Lent
we are ready to be changed - to
live more deeply our life in Him.

In Holy Week we identify with His Passion and
death – dying to those things we have
been shown in Lent that are
                    stumbling blocks in the spiritual
                    life.

It is made clear to me before Mary
                    appeared at Clearwater, Mary's role
as Mother of our Spiritual life.

It is made clear this Lent we are to
                    discipline our thoughts, focusing
on Jesus, loving God first in all
we do and loving our neighbor
                    as ourselves.

It is further made clear we must pray for
healing of the family tree, those that
went before us, our children, even
                    children not born yet.

We pray for all of these ways to be as God
                    wants us to be –
                    the individual Christian, the Church
and the world is in the state of
                    becoming.

Jesus told Fr. Carter to start these prayer
chapters all over the world –
centered in the Hearts of greatest
love of Mary and Jesus and loving the
                    Father's will as Mary did.

Love, Love, Love   God is love –
He is the Creator, we are the
creatures, we are under God –

He is worthy of our love –

Jesus loved us to His death on the cross.
Jesus rose the 3rd day –

We have been taught in Lent that grace
                    permeates nature and thus to
                    seek God's grace.

To pray for an increase of faith, hope
                    and love –

Our thoughts are the doorway to our
heart and we think all day –
                    so we therefore must realize
God lives in us. Father, Son and Holy
Spirit dwell in our graced baptized soul.

From the Apostles Manual and Blue Book 13 Excerpt

December 7, 1996 First Saturday -
Revelations on the Light

Adam and Eve are given great gifts and insights into God. They sin, the light of knowing God is dimmed because of their sin. They do not know God as they did before the sin.

Christ comes, He is the Light of the World. He dies, He gives Himself. He shares His life with us through sanctifying grace.

Through Baptism we receive this sharing in His divine life. The more He shares His life, the more we are saturated with His life, the more we know Him. He reveals Himself to us--we see the light.

end of excerpt

In the Easter Vigil we have

                I. The Service of Light

The lights in the Church on Holy Saturday are
                    dimmed.

A fire is prepared outside the Church.
                There is a procession too.

This is a holy night – the priest says.
                The priest blesses the fire.
The priest lights the candle from the new fire.

                The priest sings
                    "Christ our light"
                    And the people answer
                    "Thanks be to God."

The deacon lifts the candle high at
the doors of the Church and
                    sings a second time
                    "Christ our light"
                    And the people answer
                    "Thanks be to God"

The people in the pews have candles
they are lighted from the rear
of the Church from the light
                    of the Easter candle –

The deacon arrives at the altar
                    and faces the people and
                    sings a third time
                    "Christ our light"
                    And the people answer
                    "Thanks be to God" and

                The Exultant (Easter Proclamation is
                    sung)

                The people stand with lighted
candles and the Exultant is sung.

After the Exultant the candles are put down.

                           Response Psalm 42

                             streams, my souls longs for
                             you, my God"
                           Or Psalm 51
                           "Create a clean heart in
                             me, O God"

We are to die with Christ and rise to new life in Christ!

We renew our baptism vows tonight.

                New Testament Readings

Romans 6: 3-11

You cannot have forgotten that all of us, when we were baptised into Christ Jesus, were baptised into his death. So by our baptism into his death we were buried with him, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the Father’s glorious power, we too should begin living a new life. If we have been joined to him by dying a death like his, so we shall be by a resurrection like his; realising that our former self was crucified with him, so that the self which belonged to sin should be destroyed and we should be freed from the slavery of sin. Someone who has died, of course, no longer has to answer for sin.

But we believe that, if we died with Christ, then we shall live with him too. We know that Christ has been raised from the dead and will never die again. Death has no power over him any more. For by dying, he is dead to sin once and for all, and now the life that he lives is life with God. In the same way, you must see yourselves as being dead to sin but alive for God in Christ Jesus.

                           R. Psalm 118
"I shall not die, but live and declare
                                 the works of the Lord"

                         Gospel:

Matthew 28: 1-10

After the Sabbath, and towards dawn on the first day of the week, Mary of Magdala and the other Mary went to visit the sepulchre. And suddenly there was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord, descending from heaven, came and rolled away the stone and sat on it. His face was like lightning, his robe white as snow. The guards were so shaken by fear of him that they were like dead men. But the angel spoke; and he said to the women, ‘There is no need for you to be afraid. I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said he would. Come and see the place where he lay, then go quickly and tell his disciples, "He has risen from the dead and now he is going ahead of you to Galilee; that is where you will see him." Look! I have told you.’ Filled with awe and great joy the women came quickly away from the tomb and ran to tell his disciples.

And suddenly, coming to meet them, was Jesus. ‘Greetings,’ he said. And the women came up to him and, clasping his feet, they did him homage. Then Jesus said to them, ‘Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers that they must leave for Galilee; there they will see me.’

                R. Christ has risen! Peace,
                    Do not be afraid!
