R.
Do you feel the presence of the
Father, Son
and Holy Spirit?
The Father, has a plan for us.
God wants
this relationship with us.
We are here to
grow in our intimacy
with God.
In this Lent we can spend time
alone with God and think of the
presence
of the Father, Son and
Holy Spirit in our heart.
Jesus:
Be alone with Me, close
your eyes, think of the presence of
God,
All three Persons, dwelling in
your heart.
Meditate, empty your
mind, think
only of the presence of God. Make
a
spiritual communion, now.
Take time, be alone with Me.
Everyday
during Lent, morning and
night, empty your mind, make a
spiritual
communion, think of God’s
presence with you, close your eyes,
be
alone with Me.
This will help you to grow in God’s
presence all day, the more you do
this,
all thru Lent.
I went into the desert to pray for
40
days and be with My Father,
practice this every day during Lent.
Being alone with God. Knowing
My presence!!!!

April 12, 2024
R. Jesus gave and He gave and He gave,
carrying the cross. He endured it all,
He never put the cross down.
It fell on Jesus and He fell under it,
but Jesus endure to the bitter end.
He died doing the Father’s will.
He died giving Himself for our sins.
They put a lance in His side and what
came out was blood and water.
Blood for the Eucharist, water for baptism.
Jesus came to bring us new life.
Jesus died and rose on the third day.
Jesus’ entire life was centered in His
death and Resurrection;
This is His Paschal or Passover mystery.
Jesus was always in a process of passing
over, passing back to the Father,
Fr. Carter said.
He was gradually achieving a new state
of existence for His own humanity and
for the entire human race, Fr. Carter says.
That new life was the state of resurrection.
Fr. Carter says: “As His mortal life
beautifully and poignantly unfolded, He
was in process to the definitive point of
death, His death, in turn, was the
passageway to Resurrection.”
Jesus’ final act of His earth-bound life in
which He would conform His will in love
to His Father’s will.”
Jesus emptied Himself!!
This was His final self-emptying in love.
All through His life, Jesus was emptying
Himself.
He gave and He gave and He gave.
We see in the carrying of the cross He
fell 3 times and endured.
In the Garden, the apostles slept, Jesus
sweat blood and endured.
Jesus was always loving in the deepest
suffering.
Jesus saw suffering as leading us to greater
life.
Jesus died in perfect peace, despite His
suffering.
Like a runner, running the race to the
bitter end, in love, in commitment, one in
love with His Father’s will.
Emptying Himself -
Jesus suffered positively, He saw suffering
leading to greater life, to the life of
Resurrection.
The interior disposition, dying to self,
rising in Him.
The pascal mystery.
The drama, the Mass, and blood and water
came forth from His pierced side.
Blood for the Eucharist
Water for Baptism.
Does anything He calls us to that is
precious, not come with a price.
What a gift God gives us and we can
waste the days He gives us, because of
blindness and the deadly sins.
It is like St. Paul says in Galatians 2: 19-20
“…It is no longer I who live, but Christ
who lives in me.”Today is the day of Salvation, today is
the Day of Salvation, today is the day
of Salvation.
It comes in dying to self and living the life
of Resurrection, in Him, not without a price -
nobody suffered more than Jesus.
He must have been exhausted beyond
anything we can imagine as He carried the
cross laden with our sins, then in the
crucifixion - Jesus endured this doing
the Father’s will in love.
We are the blessed and gifted!
St. Michael the Archangel
"St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen."
Chaplet of St. Michael
Saint Michael appearing one day to Antonia d'Astonac, a most devout Servant of God, told her that he wished to be honored by nine salutations corresponding to the nine Choirs of Angels, which should consist of one Our Father and three Hail Marys in honor of each of the angelic choirs.
Promises of St. Michael
Whosoever would practice this devotion in his honor would have, when approaching the Holy Table, an escort of nine angels chosen from each one of the nine choirs. In addition, for the daily recital of these nine salutations, he promised his continual assistance and that of all the holy angels during life, and after death deliverance from purgatory for themselves and their relations.
Method of Reciting the Chaplet
The chaplet is begun by saying the following invocation on the medal: O God, come to my assistance. O Lord, make haste to help me. Glory be to the Father, etc.
Say one Our Father and three Hail Marys after each of the following nine salutations in honor of the nine choirs of angels.
1. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Seraphim, may the Lord make us worthy to burn with the fire of perfect charity. Amen.
2. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Cherubim, may the Lord vouchsafe to grant us grace to leave the ways of wickedness to run in the paths of Christian perfection. Amen.
3. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Thrones, may the Lord infuse into our hearts a true and sincere spirit of humility. Amen.
4. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Dominions, may the Lord give us grace to govern our senses and subdue our unruly passions. Amen.
5. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Powers, may the Lord vouchsafe to protect our souls against the snares and temptations of the devil. Amen.
6. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Virtues may the Lord preserve us from evil and suffer us not to fall into temptation. Amen.
7. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Principalities, may God fill our souls with a true spirit of obedience. Amen.
8. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Archangels, may the Lord give us perseverance in faith and in all good works, in order that we gain the glory of Paradise. Amen.
9. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Angels, may the Lord grant us to be protected by them in this mortal life and conducted hereafter to eternal glory. Amen.
Say one Our Father in honor of each of the following leading angels: 10 St Michael; 11 St Gabriel; 12 St. Raphael; 13 our Guardian Angel.
The chaplet is concluded with the following prayers:
O glorious Prince St. Michael, chief and commander of the heavenly hosts, guardian of souls, vanquisher of rebel spirits, servant in the house of the Divine King, and our admirable conductor, thou who dost shine with excellence and superhuman virtue, vouchsafe to deliver us from all evil, who turn to thee with confidence, and enable us by thy gracious protection to serve God more and more faithfully every day.
V. Pray for us, O glorious St. Michael, Prince of the Church of Jesus Christ.
R. That we may be made worthy of His promises.
Almighty and Everlasting God, who by a prodigy of goodness and a merciful desire for the salvation of all men, hast appointed the most glorious Archangel, St. Michael, Prince of Thy Church, make us worthy, we beseech Thee, to be delivered from all our enemies that none of them may harass us at the hour of death, but that we may be conducted by him into the august presence of Thy Divine Majesty. This we beg through the merits of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Glorious Mysteries
The Resurrection
1. Sing: Glory, Glory, Glory Lord
2. Luke 24: 1-12
On the first day of the week, at the first sign of dawn, they went to the tomb with the spices they had prepared. They found that the stone had been rolled away from the tomb, but on entering they could not find the body of the Lord Jesus. As they stood there puzzled about this, two men in brilliant clothes suddenly appeared at their side. Terrified, the women bowed their heads to the ground. But the two said to them, ‘Why look among the dead for someone who is alive? He is not here; he has risen. Remember what he told you when he was still in Galilee: that the Son of man was destined to be handed over into the power of sinful men and be crucified, and rise again on the third day.’ And they remembered his words.
And they returned from the tomb and told all this to the Eleven and to all the others. The women were Mary of Magdala, Joanna, and Mary the mother of James. And the other women with them also told the apostles, but this story of theirs seemed pure nonsense, and they did not believe them.
Peter, however, went off to the tomb, running. He bent down and looked in and saw the linen cloths but nothing else; he then went back home, amazed at what had happened.
3. We contemplate the joy of the risen Lord in
our lives,
We seek to die to ways not like Christ
to rise in Him.
4. In Him we see His committedness to do the
Father’s will.
We pray to do the Father’s will as the
guiding principle of our life.5. Sing: Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul.
Come into my heart and permeate my soul.
Help me to sit in silence with You and let
You work in my heart.6. Today is the Day the Lord has made - Rejoice,
Rejoice in it.
7. Today is the day of salvation, today is the
day of salvation, today is the day of salvation.
8. Most Sacred Heart of Jesus I trust in Thee.
I put all my cares in Thee.
9. God, I love and adore You, help me now
in my need to love and serve You, my God.
Amen.
10. Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I consecrate
my life to Thee.
Immaculate Heart of Mary, I consecrate my
life to you.Sing: Give me Your Heart, Oh Jesus
The Ascension
1. Acts 1:1-11In my earlier work, Theophilus, I dealt with everything Jesus had done and taught from the beginning until the day he gave his instructions to the apostles he had chosen through the Holy Spirit, and was taken up to heaven. He had shown himself alive to them after his Passion by many demonstrations: for forty days he had continued to appear to them and tell them about the kingdom of God. While at table with them, he had told them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait there for what the Father had promised. ‘It is’, he had said, ‘what you have heard me speak about: John baptised with water but, not many days from now, you are going to be baptised with the Holy Spirit.’
Now having met together, they asked him, ‘Lord, has the time come for you to restore the kingdom to Israel?’ He replied, ‘It is not for you to know times or dates that the Father has decided by his own authority, but you will receive the power of the Holy Spirit which will come on you, and then you will be my witnesses not only in Jerusalem but throughout Judaea and Samaria, and indeed to earth’s remotest end.’
As he said this he was lifted up while they looked on, and a cloud took him from their sight. They were still staring into the sky as he went, when suddenly two men in white were standing beside them, and they said, ‘Why are you Galileans standing here looking into the sky? This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven will come back in the same way as you have seen him go to heaven.’2. Ephesians 1:17-23
May the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, give you a spirit of wisdom and perception of what is revealed, to bring you to full knowledge of him. May he enlighten the eyes of your mind so that you can see what hope his call holds for you, how rich is the glory of the heritage he offers among his holy people, and how extraordinarily great is the power that he has exercised for us believers; this accords with the strength of his power at work in Christ, the power which he exercised in raising him from the dead and enthroning him at his right hand, in heaven, far above every principality, ruling force, power or sovereignty, or any other name that can be named, not only in this age but also in the age to come. He has put all things under his feet, and made him, as he is above all things, the head of the Church; which is his Body, the fullness of him who is filled, all in all.
3. Christ reigns over all creation.
4. Through Jesus’ Resurrection, and Ascension,
the Father has thus exalted His Son.
5. The world belongs to Christ. Despite the
fact that man’s sinfulness has partially
marred its image, it is a Christic image.
6. Christians should feel at home in the world
of Jesus.
7. We as Christians should be encouraged by
the world's goodness, despite its marred
image, we see the reflection of Jesus in the
world.
8. God has us in the world today, so we live
here serving God.
9. Jesus says: ”I am alive, I am alive, I am
alive, some treat Me as a dead object.”
10. Man’s world is crippled by many evils,
we are called to action from Jesus and Mary.

The Descent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles
1. Acts 2:1-11When Pentecost day came round, they had all met together, when suddenly there came from heaven a sound as of a violent wind which filled the entire house in which they were sitting; and there appeared to them tongues as of fire; these separated and came to rest on the head of each of them. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak different languages as the Spirit gave them power to express themselves.
Now there were devout men living in Jerusalem from every nation under heaven, and at this sound they all assembled, and each one was bewildered to hear these men speaking his own language. They were amazed and astonished. ‘Surely,’ they said, ‘all these men speaking are Galileans? How does it happen that each of us hears them in his own native language? Parthians, Medes and Elamites; people from Mesopotamia, Judaea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya round Cyrene; residents of Rome—Jews and proselytes alike—Cretans and Arabs, we hear them preaching in our own language about the marvels of God.’2. 1 Corinthians 12:3-7
Because of that, I want to make it quite clear to you that no one who says ‘A curse on Jesus’ can be speaking in the Spirit of God, and nobody is able to say, ‘Jesus is Lord’ except in the Holy Spirit.
3. The Apostles were filled with the Holy Spirit.
4. The Spirit is present for us also. The Spirit
works to form us more and more in the
image of Jesus.
5. Sing: Come Holy Ghost
6. From the Prayer ManualHoly Spirit Prayer
Come, Holy Spirit, almighty Sanctifier, God of love, who filled the Virgin Mary with grace, who wonderfully changed the hearts of the apostles, who endowed all Your martyrs with miraculous courage, come and sanctify us. Enlighten our minds, strengthen our wills, purify our consciences, rectify our judgment, set our hearts on fire, and preserve us from the misfortunes of resisting Your inspirations. Amen.
7. The Apostles received the Holy Spirit and
they were transformed by the Spirit.
8. Sing: Veni Sancte Spiritus with Pentecost Sequence.
From the Lectionary
Pentecost Sequence
Come, Holy Spirit, come!
And from your celestial home
Shed a ray of light divine!Come, Father of the poor!
Come, source of all our store!
Come, within our bosoms shine!You, of comforters the best;
You, the soul's most welcome guest;
Sweet refreshment here below;In our Labor, rest most sweet;
Grateful coolness in the heat;
Solace in the midst of woe.O most blessed Light divine,
Shine within these hearts of yours,
And our inmost being fill!Where you are not, man has naught,
Nothing good in deed or thought,
Nothing free from taint of ill!Heal our wounds, our strength renew;
On our dryness pour your dew;
Wash the stains of guilt away;Bend the stubborn heart and will;
Melt the frozen, warm the chill;
Guide the steps that go astray. On the faithful, who adore
And confess you, evermore
In your sev'nfold gift descend;Give them virtue's sure reward;
Give them your salvation, Lord;
Give them joys that never end. Amen.
Alleluia.
9. Sing: Come Holy Spirit
10. Dear Holy Spirit: Infuse in our hearts,
wisdom, understanding and knowledge.
Dear Holy Spirit give us the gift of counsel.
From the Holy Spirit NovenaPrayer for the Holy Spirit and His Gifts
Come Holy Spirit, come, come into our hearts, inflame all people with the fire of Your love.
Leader: Send forth Your Spirit and all will be reborn.
All: And You will renew the face of the earth. We pray for the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, we ask for perfection in our souls to make us holy, holy souls likened to God.
Dear Holy Spirit, we give ourselves to You soul and body. We ask You to give us the Spirit of Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety, and Fear of the Lord.
The Assumption
1. From Mother at Our Side by Fr. Edward Carter, S.J."The Blessed Virgin was eternally predestined, in conjunction with the Incarnation of the Divine Word, to be the Mother of God. By decree of divine Providence, she served on earth as the loving mother of the divine Redeemer, an associate of unique nobility, and the Lord's humble handmaid. She conceived, brought forth, and nourished Christ. She presented Him to the Father in the temple, and was united with Him in suffering as He died on the cross. In an utterly singular way she cooperated by her obedience, faith, hope, and burning charity in the Savior's work of restoring supernatural life to souls." (Vatican II).1
1. The Documents of Vatican II (New York: The America Press, 1966), Dogmatic Constitution on the Church, No. 61.
2. Sing: Immaculate Mary
3. Mary truly is the Mother of Jesus, she
truly is the Mother of God.
4. Mary cooperated with Jesus in His redemptive
effort. Throughout much of the time she was
physically present to him. At those times when
she was not at His side, she was united with
him through a profound spiritual union. She
was totally dedicated to him and to His cause.
She was His first and perfect disciple. She
loved Him with a devotion and intensity
beyond our full comprehension.
5. All of Mary’s other God-given gifts flow from
her divine motherhood – from the fact that
she is the mother of Jesus. Her immaculate
conception, her fullness of grace, her freedom
from actual sin, her perpetual virginity, her
assumption into heaven – these and all her
other gifts flow from her divine maternity.
6. Mary was assumed Body and soul into heaven.
7. One of these gifts not yet mentioned is her role
as our spiritual Mother. Yes, because Mary is
the Mother of Christ, she is also our mother.
This is a marvelous and most consoling reality
upon which we reflect.8. From Mother at Our Side by Fr. Edward Carter, S.J.
In an utterly singular way…"In an utterly singular way she cooperated by her obedience, faith, hope, and burning charity in the Savior's work of restoring supernatural life to souls. For this reason she is a mother to us in the order of grace." (Vatican II).2
2. The Documents of Vatican II (New York: The America Press, 1966), Dogmatic Constitution on the Church, No. 62.
9. From Mother at Our Side by Fr. Edward Carter, S.J.
Jesus has given us Mary as our spiritual mother. As He hung upon the cross, Jesus told John to look upon Mary as his mother, this John who represents all of us. In His moment of deepest anguish and suffering, Jesus was thinking of us. As the indescribable physical pain racked His body from head to toe, as the unfathomable spiritual anguish penetrated to the depths of His Heart, Jesus was thinking of us. If we allow this scene to penetrate into our hearts, if we take the time to contemplate the depth of Jesus' and Mary's love for us as Their Hearts were pierced with grief, we are truly overwhelmed with the magnificent greatness and tenderness of the scene. Jesus was proclaiming Mary to be Mother of the Redemption. He was telling us that Mary is Mother to all peoples.
10. From Mother at Our Side by Fr. Edward Carter, S.J."We have but one Mediator, as we know from the words of the Apostle: "For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and men, himself man, Christ Jesus, who gave himself as ransom for all." (1 Tim. 2:5-6). The maternal duty of Mary toward men in no way obscures or diminishes this unique mediation of Christ, but rather shows its power. For all the saving influences of the Blessed Virgin on men originate, not from some inner necessity, but from the divine pleasure. They flow forth from the superabundance of the merits of Christ, rest on His mediation, depend entirely on it, and draw all their power from it. In no way do they impede the immediate union of the faithful with Christ. Rather they foster this union."3

The Queenship of Mary
1. Revelation 12:1-2Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman, robed with the sun, standing on the moon, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. She was pregnant, and in labour, crying aloud in the pangs of childbirth.
2. Sing: Our Lady of Clearwater
3. Sing: See the Eyes That Look at Mary
4. Sing: I Am Your Sacred Heart
5. Sing: Hail Holy Queen
6. Sing: In My Heart
7. Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of MaryDear Blessed Virgin Mary, I consecrate myself to your maternal and Immaculate Heart, this Heart which is symbol of your life of love. You are the Mother of my Savior. You are also my Mother. You love me with a most special love as a member of Shepherds of Christ Associates, a movement created by your Son as a powerful instrument for the renewal of the Church and the world. In a return of love, I give myself entirely to your motherly love and protection. You followed Jesus perfectly. You are His first and perfect disciple. Teach me to imitate you in the putting on of Christ. Be my motherly intercessor so that, through your Immaculate Heart, I may be guided to an ever closer union with the pierced Heart of Jesus, Chief Shepherd of the flock.
8. Act of Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Lord Jesus, Chief Shepherd of the flock, I consecrate myself to Your most Sacred Heart. From Your pierced Heart the Church was born, the Church You have called me, as a member of Shepherds of Christ Associates, to serve in a most special way. You reveal Your Heart as a symbol of Your love in all its aspects, including Your most special love for me, whom You have chosen as Your companion in this most important work. Help me to always love You in return. Help me to give myself entirely to You. Help me always to pour out my life in love of God and neighbor! Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in You!
9. Consecrate Your Churches, Homes and Workplaces to the Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart
(To be read by leader or family member)
We should consecrate the human race to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. We should enthrone Jesus as King in all homes, churches and businesses.
June is the month of the Sacred Heart. Jesus must reign, be KING, of all hearts. Jesus' promises to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque are given. We should read them. We can consecrate our churches and places of prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus that He will reign there.
First Friday is a special day of devotion to the Sacred Heart. We have these booklets available that people will consecrate their homes, churches and businesses to the Sacred Heart. Will you help us encourage all to consecrate their homes, businesses and churches to the Sacred Heart? Will you help us spread these booklets?
We want the Sacred Heart of Jesus to reign and the Immaculate Heart of Mary to triumph in all hearts. Will you pray for this with us and help us to spread this material?
Recommend to people that they display to be honored pictures of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
May is the month of Mary and June is the month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Tell all about this consecration. During these months we can make a special effort to do this.
We can gather our friends and sing, "To Jesus' Heart All Burning" and "Immaculate Mary". May these two Hearts of love give all members of the human race peace, joy and love in their hearts.
We should adore Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. This is such a gift God gives to us. Jesus loved us so much He gave His life for His precious souls. Jesus wants the souls to come to Him and love Him.
We are so gifted to receive Jesus in Holy Communion. Jesus has a Heart filled with love on fire for men.
The more we united to Jesus, the more we will become one with the Father and know His love.
Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
We can offer a holy hour for the indifference, ingratitude and sacrileges committed against Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, the Sacrament of His greatest love.
10.Promises of Our Lord to those devoted to His Sacred Heart:
1. I will give them all the graces necessary in their state of life.
2. I will establish peace in their homes.
3. I will comfort them in all their afflictions.
4. I will be their refuge during life and above all in death.
5. I will bestow a large blessing on all their undertakings.
6. Sinners shall find in My Heart the source and the infinite ocean of mercy.
7. Tepid souls shall grow fervent.
8. Fervent souls shall quickly mount to high perfection.
9. I will bless every place where a picture of My Heart shall be set up and honored.
10. I will give to priests the gift of touching the most hardened hearts.
11. Those who promote this devotion shall have their names written in My Heart, never to be blotted out.
12. I promise you in the excessive mercy of My Heart that My all-powerful love will grant to all those who
communicate on the first Friday in nine consecutive months the grace of final penitence; they shall not die
in My disgrace nor without receiving their sacraments; My divine Heart shall be their safe refuge in this last
moment.

Guiding Light homily series — Reflect on the Word — Cycle B The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand. $10 |
Guiding Light homily series — Steadfast to the Son — Cycle A The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $10 |
Guiding Light — Focusing on the Word — Cycle B At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $10 |
Guiding Light — Feed My Soul — Cycle C In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $10 |
