Working together —
Carrying Pain together
Opening oneself to God's will
Let God do what He wants
with our lives —
Quit telling God how it
should be — what we want —
Do it God's way — God's Plan
We don't know what God
wants
Sing: This is the Feast of Victory!
Our readings focus on the risen Lord
John wrote Revelations — A vision John had of heaven —
Scroll God had - was written about what was to
take place — the scroll was sealed shut — The Lamb
was victorious over evil — even over death —
1st reading — After Jesus ascended — He continued His
healing ministry through the Apostles —
The Apostles were told not to preach about Jesus again
They were arrested 3 times —
An angel let them out the second time they were arrested —
They were whipped for not obeying the
authorities and they were joyful because
they had suffered for God —
We must obey God and not men the Apostles said.
Readings from today
Acts 5: 27-32, 40b-41
When they had brought them in to face the Sanhedrin, the high priest demanded an explanation. ‘We gave you a strong warning’, he said, ‘not to preach in this name, and what have you done? You have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and seem determined to fix the guilt for this man’s death on us.’ In reply Peter and the apostles said, ‘Obedience to God comes before obedience to men; it was the God of our ancestors who raised up Jesus, whom you executed by hanging on a tree. By his own right hand God has now raised him up to be leader and Saviour, to give repentance and forgiveness of sins through him to Israel. We are witnesses to this, we and the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey him.’
The Sanhedrin warned them not to speak in the name of Jesus and released them. And so they left the presence of the Sanhedrin, glad to have had the honour of suffering humiliation for the sake of the name
Revelation 5: 11-14
In my vision, I heard the sound of an immense number of angels gathered round the throne and the living creatures and the elders; there were ten thousand times ten thousand of them and thousands upon thousands, loudly chanting: Worthy is the Lamb that was sacrificed to receive power, riches, wisdom, strength, honour, glory and blessing. Then I heard all the living things in creation—everything that lives in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, and in the sea, crying: To the One seated on the throne and to the Lamb, be all praise, honour, glory and power, for ever and ever. And the four living creatures said, ‘Amen’; and the elders prostrated themselves to worship.
One beautiful morning — a pastor wanted to go fishing — He called
up the bishop and said "I am too sick", the pastor
went fishing — Peter said to Jesus — he just lied — how
can You reward him with a big fish — Jesus said:
"Who is he going to brag to?" —
John 21: 1-19
Later on, Jesus revealed himself again to the disciples. It was by the Sea of Tiberias, and it happened like this: Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee and two more of his disciples were together. Simon Peter said, ‘I’m going fishing.’ They replied, ‘We’ll come with you.’ They went out and got into the boat but caught nothing that night. When it was already light, there stood Jesus on the shore, though the disciples did not realise that it was Jesus. Jesus called out, ‘Haven’t you caught anything, friends?’ And when they answered, ‘No,’ he said, ‘Throw the net out to starboard and you’ll find something.’ So they threw the net out and could not haul it in because of the quantity of fish. The disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, ‘It is the Lord.’ At these words, ‘It is the Lord,’ Simon Peter tied his outer garment round him (for he had nothing on) and jumped into the water. The other disciples came on in the boat, towing the net with the fish; they were only about a hundred yards from land. As soon as they came ashore they saw that there was some bread there and a charcoal fire with fish cooking on it. Jesus said, ‘Bring some of the fish you have just caught.’ Simon Peter went aboard and dragged the net ashore, full of big fish, one hundred and fifty-three of them; and in spite of there being so many the net was not broken. Jesus said to them, ‘Come and have breakfast.’ None of the disciples was bold enough to ask, ‘Who are you?’. They knew quite well it was the Lord. Jesus then stepped forward, took the bread and gave it to them, and the same with the fish. This was the third time that Jesus revealed himself to the disciples after rising from the dead. When they had eaten, Jesus said to Simon Peter, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me more than these others do?’ He answered, ‘Yes, Lord, you know I love you.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Feed my lambs.’ A second time he said to him, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me?’ He replied, ‘Yes, Lord, you know I love you.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Look after my sheep.’ Then he said to him a third time, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me?’ Peter was hurt that he asked him a third time, ‘Do you love me?’ and said, ‘Lord, you know everything; you know I love you.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Feed my sheep. In all truth I tell you, when you were young you put on your own belt and walked where you liked; but when you grow old you will stretch out your hands, and somebody else will put a belt round you and take you where you would rather not go.’ In these words he indicated the kind of death by which Peter would give glory to God. After this he said, ‘Follow me.’
The real reason Christ came to us was to feed us —
Jesus had the fire ready — Jesus feeds us — Jesus is the Bread of Life
Jesus came to be our life — to give us
everlasting life —
Jesus feeds us, nourishes us
He wants us to be His light in the world
He wants us to be likened to Him — to follow Him —
Jesus wanted Peter to tell Him he loved Him 3 times —
Peter put his foot in his mouth —
Matthew 26: 33-35
At this, Peter said to him, ‘Even if all fall away from you, I will never fall away.’ Jesus answered him, ‘In truth I tell you, this very night, before the cock crows, you will have disowned me three times.’ Peter said to him, ‘Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you.’
Peter loved Jesus with friendship love —
John 21: 15-17
Peter was supposed to take care of Jesus' flock —
Peter did love God — he died for Him —
Unity — one mind — one heart — we don't want conflict
feeling normal — we want peace — unity — if 4
are united and one is divided - we are divided —
We need to look at our behavior when we have
conflict and settle it — Have unity — not heap anger on
another — work out with them and not taking responsibility for
our anger — so we can change our behavior and not punish —
a roller coaster
Jesus: Defuse the fire quickly or it will burn down the house —
The devil wants conflict — The devil wants to press on
old wounds so the battle is two people with conflict —
are both angry and not resolve the conflict because of
old wounds — look at the upsetment
Resolve the conflict, in love quickly, look at your red buttons
which reveal wounds of the past - satan presses on —
to divide people who love each other — listen to your heart —
not your angry mind. Self-righteous - Punishing others.
Pray for grace — take responsibility for your actions —
Be as God wills in all things — Relationships as God wills —
not angry minds —
R. Our sins were heaped on Jesus — He was the scapegoat —
Admit your evil — tell God and others you are sorry —
Change your defective behavior
Seek purity — Unity in communities like the Trinity —
Luke 12: 57-59
‘Why not judge for yourselves what is upright? For example: when you are going to court with your opponent, make an effort to settle with him on the way, or he may drag you before the judge and the judge hand you over to the officer and the officer have you thrown into prison. I tell you, you will not get out till you have paid the very last penny.’
Jesus cares for us — Feeding us — loving us — Jesus is always
watching over us — Little children — I love you
Jesus feeds us —
Jesus loves us so much — He knows our hearts —
He is watching us — He loves us so much - so much —
Jesus: I love you
R. He wants us to love Him — love each other — Love - Love - Love
Jesus: I love you, I love you, I love you
R. Affection — Friendship — I love You God —
Jesus: I am the Good Shepherd, Feed My lambs, Feed My sheep —
R. Serve in the Church with love — Not selfishness
Be holy — Be like Jesus — Be united in communities —
like the parts of a body — Be in one mind and one heart
Excerpt from Response to God's Love by Fr. Edward Carter, S.J.
... God himself is the ultimate mystery. Radically, God is completely other and transcendent, hidden from man in his inner life, unless he chooses to reveal himself. Let us briefly look at this inner life of God.
The Father, in a perfect act of self-expression, in a perfect act of knowing, generates his son. The Son, the Word, is, then, the immanent expression of God's fullness, the reflection of the Father. Likewise, from all eternity, the Father and the Son bring forth the Holy Spirit in a perfect act of loving.
At the destined moment in human history, God's self-expression, the Word, immersed himself into man's world. God's inner self-expression now had also become God's outer self-expression. Consequently, the mystery of God becomes the mystery of Christ. In Christ, God tells us about himself, about his inner life, about his plan of creation and redemption. He tells us how Father, Son, and Holy Spirit desire to dwell within us in the most intimate fashion, how they wish to share with us their own life through grace. All this he has accomplished and does accomplish through Christ.
John 17: 20-23
I pray not only for these
but also for those
who through their teaching
will come to believe in me.
May they all be one,
just as, Father, you are in me
and I am in you,
so that they also may be in us,
so that the world may believe
it was you who sent me.
I have given them the glory
you gave to me,
that they may be one as we are one.
With me in them and you in me,
may they be so perfected in unity
that the world will recognise
that it was you who sent me
and that you have loved them
as you have loved me.
R. God is love — Resolve Conflicts in love —
Cycle of Abuse —
person doesn't change
they are never wrong —
they work out their dysfunction acting
out on another —
there is a climax for their dysfunction
then they won't resolve the conflict —
Then they say "Oh I am sorry", but they never
change their behavior or defects of
character —
They act out constantly with their
dysfunction as a roller coaster —
Provoking — conflict misery —
Then they don't own their behavior
They say SORRY —
make - up —
they never change their behavior
they act out on others —
have a climax —
then work it out on the other —
They never look at their behavior and
take responsibility for
how they acted and repent and
really change their behavior
People who care and love others —
want to do God's will
go to confession and admit their
sins
don't have scapegoats
Acting out day long — Fr. Mike says
A person acting out and having a scapegoat
never changes their dysfunction
and there is no change of behavior
no accountability
their acting out is resolved
in the cycle of abuse
getting forgiveness of the other —
Then they start again — conflict acted out
from old wounds
Seeking power
We see the struggle of Christ before
His death with Herod —
Struggle for power
Christ the King is crucified
Christ all pure
The enemy of Christ wants to do his
behavior — have power
over Christ
Look at the First Sunday of Lent
Luke 4: 1-13
Filled with the Holy Spirit, Jesus left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the desert, for forty days being put to the test by the devil. During that time he ate nothing and at the end he was hungry. Then the devil said to him, ‘If you are Son of God, tell this stone to turn into a loaf.’ But Jesus replied, ‘Scripture says:
Human beings live not on bread alone.’
Then leading him to a height, the devil showed him in a moment of time all the kingdoms of the world and said to him, ‘I will give you all this power and their splendour, for it has been handed over to me, for me to give it to anyone I choose.& Do homage, then, to me, and it shall all be yours.’ But Jesus answered him, ‘Scripture says:
You must do homage to the Lord your God,
him alone you must serve.’Then he led him to Jerusalem and set him on the parapet of the Temple. ‘If you are Son of God,’ he said to him, ‘throw yourself down from here, for scripture says:
He has given his angels orders about you,
to guard you,and again:
They will carry you in their arms
in case you trip over a stone.’But Jesus answered him, ‘Scripture says:
Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’
Having exhausted every way of putting him to the test, the devil left him, until the opportune moment.
The devil wants power
The devil wanted Adam and Eve to sin —
This is disobedience to God
This is struggle for power
Look at the Gospel today
3rd Sunday of Lent
They imprisoned the Apostles 3
times —
The second time an angel let
them out —
They were preaching about Jesus —
they were told not to do so
The struggle is for power —
"Don't preach about Jesus" — they told the Apostles
"We forbid you"
Power struggle —
Constant power struggle —
God called the Shepherds of Christ to help renew
the Church and the world —
We are to be under God
We are to be under the Holy Father
Christ put Peter in charge of the Church
Christ shows us He wanted Peter
to love Him
Christ is love
Christ wants us to love
God wants peace
Mary came and said there would be
an era of peace —
Before Christ's bitter death, He
prayed for unity
John 17: 20-23
I pray not only for these
but also for those
who through their teaching
will come to believe in me.
May they all be one,
just as, Father, you are in me
and I am in you,
so that they also may be in us,
so that the world may believe
it was you who sent me.
I have given them the glory
you gave to me,
that they may be one as we are one.
With me in them and you in me,
may they be so perfected in unity
that the world will recognise
that it was you who sent me
and that you have loved them
as you have loved me.
We can be in the habit of acting
out dysfunction —
seeking power —
The Shepherds of Christ is to spread the Consecration
to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary —
the Hearts of perfect love —
this is to bring peace —
this is to help us to be holy
To think conflict is normal is
from satan — God wants
us to get along —
The Trinity is the most perfect
community —
Our mission by spreading the
consecration is to bring unity —
so we are likened to God —
3 Persons in One God —
A Community of Perfect love

The Mystery of
Christ and

Jesus: Where are you going in your
hustle and bustle for I teach
you of My love — I teach you
the ways of My Heart — when
you are selfish - you do not grow —
You were created to die to yourselves
to live in love — in greater
perfection as your heavenly
Father is perfect —
Being as the Father wants —
dying to your selfish ways —
R. Oh my God - help me to teach the
world about Your love —
love is giving of oneself —
according to God's will —
Jesus: Love is surrender — not
doing your will against God —
having your control —
but surrendering to God
Give a gift that lasts.

Words of Jesus to Members of
Shepherds of Christ Associates:"My beloved priest-companion, I intend to use the priestly newsletter, Shepherds of Christ, and the movement, Shepherds of Christ Associates, in a powerful way for the renewal of My Church and the world.
"I will use the newsletter and the chapters of Shepherds of Christ Associates as a powerful instrument for spreading devotion to My Heart and My Mother's Heart.
"I am calling many to become members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. To all of them I will give great blessings. I will use them as instruments to help bring about the triumph of the Immaculate Heart and the reign of My Sacred Heart. I will give great graces to the members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. I will call them to be deeply united to My Heart and to Mary's Heart as I lead them ever closer to My Father in the Holy Spirit."
