Luke 4: 18
The spirit of the Lord is on me,
for he has anointed me
to bring the good news to the afflicted.
He has sent me
to proclaim liberty to captives,
sight to the blind,
to let the oppressed go free,
R. Jesus had enemies
In Nazareth they wanted to kill Him
Luke 4: 24
And he went on, In truth I tell you, no prophet is ever accepted in his own country.
R. Jesus is the Son of God
Jesus came a little baby
Jesus shows us how He works so
intimately with His followers
Jesus calls us
Jesus wants us to follow Him
We can answer Him or
try to ignore Him
do it our way not God's
way
Jesus wants us to simply say "yes"
Jesus wants us to follow Him
He helps us to let go of inordinate
attachments that keep us
hung up
get in the way of following Jesus
He wants us in His time
He wants us in His way
Jesus wants surrender
When Jesus wants us to do something
we need to do it
do it in His way
do it in His time
We can go out try to do things
our way trying to find
ourselves and
Never really follow Jesus
Then we are acting like
we are in charge of our life
not God
And we are a wanderer
Searching ourselves
Not living our vocation in God's
way in God's time
following Jesus
Jesus is the Bridegroom
A Prayer for Intimacy with the Lamb, the Bridegroom of the Soul
Oh Lamb of God, Who take away the sins of the world, come and act on my soul most intimately. I surrender myself, as I ask for the grace to let go, to just be as I exist in You and You act most intimately on my soul. You are the Initiator. I am the soul waiting Your favors as You act in me. I love You. I adore You. I worship You. Come and possess my soul with Your Divine Grace, as I experience You most intimately.
R. Jesus is our teacher
We surrender to Jesus
What is God's Plan for us
How do we go to work for Jesus?
Today's Readings
Isaiah 50: 4-9
Lord Yahweh has given me
a disciples tongue,
for me to know how to give
a word of comfort to the weary.
Morning by morning
he makes my ear alert
to listen like a disciple.
Lord Yahweh has opened my ear
and I have not resisted,
I have not turned away.
I have offered my back
to those who struck me,
my cheeks to those
who plucked my beard;
I have not turned my face away
from insult and spitting.
Lord Yahweh comes to my help,
this is why insult has not touched me,
this is why I have set my face like flint
and know that I shall not
be put to shame.
He who grants me saving justice is near!
Who will bring a case against me?
Let us appear in court together!
Who has a case against me?
Let him approach me!
Look, Lord Yahweh is coming
to my help!
Who dares condemn me?
Look at them, all falling apart
like moth-eaten clothes!
Psalm 71: 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 15, 17
In you, Yahweh, I take refuge,
I shall never be put to shame.
In your saving justice rescue me, deliver me,
listen to me and save me.
Be a sheltering rock for me,
always accessible;
you have determined to save me,
for you are my rock, my fortress.
My God, rescue me from the clutches of the wicked,
from the grasp of the rogue and the ruthless.
For you are my hope, Lord,
my trust, Yahweh, since boyhood.
On you I have relied since my birth,
since my mothers womb you have been my portion,
the constant theme of my praise.
My lips shall proclaim your saving justice,
your saving power all day long.God, you have taught me from boyhood,
and I am still proclaiming your marvels.
John 13: 21-33, 36-38
Having said this, Jesus was deeply disturbed and declared, In all truth I tell you, one of you is going to betray me. The disciples looked at each other, wondering whom he meant. The disciple Jesus loved was reclining next to Jesus; Simon Peter signed to him and said, Ask who it is he means, so leaning back close to Jesus chest he said, Who is it, Lord? Jesus answered, It is the one to whom I give the piece of bread that I dip in the dish. And when he had dipped the piece of bread he gave it to Judas son of Simon Iscariot. At that instant, after Judas had taken the bread, Satan entered him. Jesus then said, What you are going to do, do quickly. None of the others at table understood why he said this. Since Judas had charge of the common fund, some of them thought Jesus was telling him, Buy what we need for the festival, or telling him to give something to the poor. As soon as Judas had taken the piece of bread he went out. It was night.
When he had gone, Jesus said:
Now has the Son of man been glorified,
and in him God has been glorified.
If God has been glorified in him,
God will in turn glorify him in himself,
and will glorify him very soon.
Little children,
I shall be with you only a little longer.
You will look for me,
and, as I told the Jews,
where I am going,
you cannot come.Simon Peter said, Lord, where are you going? Jesus replied, Now you cannot follow me where I am going, but later you shall follow me. Peter said to him, Why can I not follow you now? I will lay down my life for you. Lay down your life for me? answered Jesus. In all truth I tell you, before the cock crows you will have disowned me three times.
R. In the Gospel of John Jesus dips the bread
there is a common bowl.
Jesus was eating with them
Jesus calls us to the Mass
Jesus gives us Himself
What a meal!!
We eat His Body
We drink His Blood
In John's Gospel we see it is
night
Judas goes out in the darkness
to do His dark deed
Jesus will come in the Light
Jesus comes in the Resurrection
Jesus is the Light of the World
Do we know when we are
straying
A cock crowed to signify
to Peter what he had done
Today once again in the rain
I heard the birds singing
the days are days where
we know the gift of
the Mass
Jesus died, Jesus rose
Sing: We are the Light of the World
We unite to the Mass
the sacrifice of Calvary
sacramentally made present
We are one in Jesus
praying to the Father
in the Holy Spirit
with all the angels and saints and
the souls in purgatory
we pray as one body in Him
through the intercession of Mary
Holy, Holy, Holy
Oh God help us
We want to be one with You
in this Mass
I am so sorry for the sins
of this world
the sins of the human race
Oh God help us
Jesus: Oh come away My sweet one
I love you so much
a garden of beauty I give you
You fight Me
when I tell you I am always
with you
I want you to trust Me and
to let go, now
Your stress is added to misery
by what you tell yourself
Feel My presence with you
I love you
I am your God
R. I want to let go of my cares
now and feel Your presence, Jesus
I want to ask You to care for
my needs to take care
of those things I am worried
about while I deeply pray
with You
Tonight is the Chrism Mass and Jesus
wants us to pray the Sidney
Rosary in China
Pray deeply for our priests, the
hierarchy, the Bishops, Cardinals
the pope
Pray for healing of all
Generational healing
Spreading the Blood of Jesus on all
Oh God we love You so much
Like a fountain pouring down on
this world
outpour Your grace upon us
We pray
We love You
We want Your help for healing
We want Your grace
R. From the pierced Heart of Christ
the Church was born
R. Tuesday in Holy Week
Oh God help us
Oh God hear our prayer
Oh God we love You
Oh God we surrender and feel your
Might
Oh Jesus, our beloved Bridegroom
Love - Love - Love
My Savior
Love to You
Love to My Beloved God:
Father, Son and Holy Spirit
Oh God we love You
Oh God we adore You
Oh God You are our God
We are one body in Him
We are to be one with others
Matthew 5: 3-10
How blessed are the poor in spirit:
the kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
Blessed are the gentle:
they shall have the earth as inheritance.
Blessed are those who mourn:
they shall be comforted.
Blessed are those
who hunger and thirst for uprightness:
they shall have their fill.
Blessed are the merciful:
they shall have mercy shown them.
Blessed are the pure in heart:
they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers:
they shall be recognised
as children of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted
in the cause of uprightness:
the kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
R. Jesus is the perfect model of
meekness
Not combatal
We want a heart like Jesus
Song: Give Me Your Heart Oh Jesus
R. Being grateful
Following Jesus
Not hard in heart
Not prideful
Keeping our focus on heaven
We live to do this work here to build
God's Kingdom
God gives us gifts
God gives us life as we see today
in Cincinnati with spring coming
the green grass
the birds singing
the blue skies after a long winter
the sweet air that kisses our cheeks
the sweet rain, now that refreshes
the earth
the thunder we hear to think
of God above
Rain that comes to water the
earth that comes in the
sounds of sweet pitter -
pats and lands so
beautiful on our windows
4 days before Fr. Carter's death
Prayer from St. Ignatius
Lord, teach me to be generous.
Teach me to serve you as you deserve;
To give and not to count the cost;
To fight and not to heed the wounds;
To toil and not to seek for rest;
To labor and not to ask for any reward,
Save that of knowing
that I am doing your will.
R. Listen to a cool spring evening
the sounds of the night sweet
Now think of Jesus in the agony of
the garden
How He gives us so much we take for
granted
How we can become cold in heart
seeking material gains above
all else
worrying of our affections
worrying of our self image before men
seeking power through the
misuse of worldly goods
Oh God help us to be humble
truthful
to follow in Your footsteps
Oh God help us to be humble
one with You
not a rival to God's will
Oh God help us to discern the spirits
to recognize the evil spirit
tries to trick us into
thinking the things of this world
can make us happy and
seeking material things before
You God
But these desires above God
leave us empty
unhappy and
sad
Jesus was good and kind
Jesus was strong
Jesus was gentle
Jesus is the Divine God
Jesus shows the Apostles His Power
We see Jesus' supernatural power
calming the storm
working miracles
We see Peter we see his weaknesses
We see him as a human
creature we see his strengths
We see Peter walk on the water
but sink when he loses faith
We see Peter a human creature
We see in contrast
Jesus the Divine God
All Powerful and
Yet He came to teach us humility
Jesus came to teach us His gentleness --
His kindness --
Jesus came to teach us His ways --
Jesus shows us about God --
Jesus is God
Jesus has a human nature and a Divine nature,
but He is a Divine Person --
Jesus shows us the supernatural --
Jesus shows us how we are to follow
His ways --
Jesus is all Powerful --
Jesus appointed 12 --
Jesus gave them authority --
Jesus loved His Apostles --
Jesus even though He, the Divine
God, came, He came in
love in companionship
with His Apostles and others
He showed us He worked with
others
He loved He taught
even though He was one
with the Father and Holy Spirit
He wanted to be with us
